Yachts For Sale In Jacksonville

Bisected by the north-flowing St John’s River with its many tributaries and creeks, the city of Jacksonville boasts 7 bridges! As Florida’s longest river (310 miles), the vast St Johns slowly meanders out to the Atlantic Ocean via the St Johns River Inlet. The St Johns is a major commercial shipping channel and boaters are cautioned to watch out for large ships and tugs when navigating the channel and through Jacksonville. Mayport, on the Inlet, is the site of shrimp boat docks where the famous white northeast Florida Mayport Shrimp are offloaded and distributed to the many local seafood restaurants and beyond. The Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway (AICW) runs into the St Johns at Sisters Creek to the north and picks up again in the southeast at Chicpoit Bay. The St Johns River provides boaters access to some of the most beautiful beaches and islands in northeast Florida.

Some notable spots are the Fort George Inlet, a popular weekend spot for local boaters in the area where the Fort George River converges with the Atlantic Ocean creating wide beaches and long sandbars, ideal for beaching and anchoring in the shallow waters. Nicknamed as the First Coast “Bahamas” for its clear waters and pristine beaches. Mill Cove located along the St. Johns River, has wide open calm waters making it a great area for watersports, and a great anchorage for cruisers and day boats. Its marshy islands are great spots for fishing. Exchange Club Island is a 34-acre Old Florida wilderness located in downtown Jacksonville beneath the Matthews Bridge that spans the St Johns River. The island features a floating dock, picnic tables, hiking trails and peaceful beaches. The AICW is a scenic waterway in the northeast coastal area of Florida, lined with marshes and wetlands habitat loaded with birds, dolphin, manatees and other aquatic life. Visit the Mayport fishing village on the St Johns River Inlet before heading further south on the AICW to beautiful Jacksonville Beach.

Downtown Jacksonville is a great place for viewing fireworks shows as they cascade from the Main Street and Acosta Bridges, and for enjoying all kinds of festivals, events, concerts and of course, the restaurants. Boaters can dock and explore the city of Jacksonville from the St Johns River, as it wanders right through the heart of downtown. The Metropolitan Park Marina on the northside is within walking distance of TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars pro football team. The Marina offers 78 slips for up to 80’ LOA vessels and a few “very large” yachts, on a first-come, first-served basis, except during games, festivals and other events held at the Metropolitan Park. Cross over the River to the boat slips (for 20’ to 90’ yachts) of the River City Brewing Company—downtown south bank’s largest outdoor dining and entertainment establishment. Enjoy live entertainment and great food. Sunday Brunch is from 10:30AM to 2:30PM. It overlooks the St Johns and great views of the Jax skyline.

A couple other well-known restaurants with boat dock access are in the Julington Creek off the St Johns, entered via Old Bull Bay. Clark’s Fish Camp Seafood Restaurant for delicious fresh seafood lunch or dinner. It also features globally sourced exotic meats and has one of the largest private collection of taxidermy animals. Julington Fish Camp is known for its upscale menu and a large deck for outdoor dining. Notably, on the northside, Palm Fish Camp offers seafood, pizza, sandwiches, and tacos. It was awarded “JaxBest” for best dock and dine. Wicked Barley, a brewery on the Jax Ale Trail, located in Mandarin, is pet-friendly and features 10 of its own brews on draft.

The St Johns River is also known for its springtime Annual Mug Race, the world’s longest sailboat race! The race starts at Memorial Bridge in Palatka and ends at Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville, a 38.5-mile course. Masts must be under 44’ to clear the bridges. Mug Cup trophy is awarded to the first sailboat to complete the course.

Jacksonville is also a premier fishing destination, offering inshore and offshore angling. Sisters Creek Marina located near the St. Johns River Inlet, hosts The Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament that is held at Jim King Park and Boat Ramp on the AICW annually in July. The Tournament for the largest kingfish, which benefits the community through Jacksonville Marine Charities, is slated for next July 12-17, 2021. Besides kingfish, several other species of gamefish draw recreational fishermen and women to Jacksonville.

Huckins Yacht's Logo Image

LOOKING FOR A PEDESTRIAN YACHT? KEEP ON WALKING.

Since Huckins was first launched in 1928, our yachts have been and continue to be as unique as the people for whom they are created. By designing and building yachts with our customers — not just for them — we champion individuality in a world that sees fewer examples every day.

But don't let Huckins' classic elegance give you the wrong impression. This is not your grandfather's yacht, and our high-performance hulls certainly aren't hewn from wood. Huckins has been utilizing fiberglass composite core construction for 40 years (initially AIREX ® and today Corecell ™ ), and we were one of the first powerboat builders to do so. All of our yachts are built from the most modern materials available to reduce weight, increase strength and maximize fuel efficiency.

A Huckins isn't for everyone, but we make no apologies. For those who appreciate uniqueness and custom craftsmanship, our yachts represent timeless elegance. Visions come to life. And dreams come true. Not to mention the lightest, sweetest-handling and fuel-stingiest yachts ever to put miles between you and the fuel dock.

Our History

About owner.

yachts in jacksonville florida

Mike’s affinity for boats was destined at birth, boats and boating a family legacy. Hailing from Charlevoix, MI, his parents’ families were involved in Great Lakes boat building, shipping and cruising. In the 1950s, Mike’s father, mother and sister Wendy moved to Miami, where Mike was born, and his dad continued work as a yacht captain. Captain C. S. Webster took the family on many enjoyable boat trips to New England, the Great Lakes, and the Florida Keys. On these trips and over the years, Mike’s father taught him invaluable knowledge about boats, cruising, and the boating lifestyle.

Mike grew up on Richard Bertram’s docks on the Miami River, enjoyed fishing and swimming in South Florida waterways, and sailing at Miami’s Dinner Key/Coconut Grove on Biscayne Bay. These treasured experiences, along with his father’s guidance, enhanced Mike’s inborn passion for boats and boating, water and nature.

Mike moved to Jacksonville in 1980 and while attending college, he worked for a real estate title company, and Huckins Yacht Corporation. He began his sales career at Herb White Marine in Jacksonville and was involved with the first Yamaha USA outboard sales and a great number of vessel types and brands, followed by sales/management positions at a classic “Mom & Pop” dealership, and a Jacksonville Sea Ray dealership.

In 1991, Mike joined Hansen Yachts, a well-established premier dealership-for Californian, Bertram, and Hatteras-and brokerage firm widely recognized in the marine industry, a thriving business setting that granted, in fact, demanded expertise with diverse vessel types and marine industry involvement.

In 2019, Mike became the sole proprietor and owner of Hansen Yachts—conveniently located at Lambs Marina. Mike has always recognized the importance and value of marine service, waterfront facility-based operation. Drawing on insight from past affiliations with a nationwide public boat sales company and a large brokerage house, his philosophy is founded on a personalized one-on-one approach, with one stand-alone location.

Boats and boating have always tugged at Mike’s heart, leading to his accomplished 30+ year career in boat sales and brokerage–an enviable opportunity to combine work, passion, and responsibility. Beginning with the first contact, Mike is laser-focused on customer satisfaction and creating a pleasurable experience for both buyer and seller. Perhaps it’s simply intuitive… after all, it’s called “pleasure boating.” His success is evidenced by numerous, loyal repeat customers, and referrals.

Known for his calm, straightforward, candid, and results-oriented approach, one customer lauded Mike with this compliment: “A good broker like you can have a great, positive effect on one’s quality of life.” With his expertise and extensive experience in the boating industry, Mike continues to go the “extra nautical mile” to meet and exceed his customers’ boating needs and expectations.

Mike resides with his wife Lindsay on Fishweir Creek in Jacksonville’s “Avondale” neighborhood.

Mike Grieco

Mike learned the love of the boats at an early age as he grew up around the water and was a 20-year member of the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA. Well experienced in Offshore Yacht racing and “Round the Buoys” day racing, as well as transiting the Intracoastal from the North to the South many times.

After years of business obligations and extensive travel around the Far East, Mike, his wife Jackie and their two Chihuahuas settled in Palm Coast Florida. In 2004 he joined MarineMax as a Yacht Broker at their Jacksonville, FL location. Looking for a more personal and hands-on experience he joined the Hansen Yachts Team as a Yacht Broker. Knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of both power and sail, Mike will be able to assist you in the sale or purchase of your next vessel while ensuring that the vessel is the correct choice and the transaction goes smoothly.

WEATHER ALERT

2 river flood warnings in effect for Brantley and Glynn Counties

‘certified gang member’ identified as 1 of the shooters in jacksonville beach likely to be critical witness.

Tarik Minor , Anchor, I-TEAM reporter

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – One of the people involved in one of three shootings at Jacksonville Beach on Sunday has been identified by police as a “certified gang member.”

A certified gang member is someone police have previously arrested and charged with some kind of gang-related crime.

According to News4JAX Crime and Safety Expert Tom Hackney, this gang member in particular was forced to make the tough decision to go to the hospital after being shot, fully realizing the weight of surrendering himself to doctors and police.

“‘Am I going to live, or am I going to go get treatment for the gunshot wound?’ understanding the ramifications of that are, and apparently that’s what happened in this case,” Hackney said.

Hackney has decades of experience in law enforcement and was previously the director of investigations in Jacksonville. He said the person currently in police custody is likely the most critical witness to Sunday night’s shooting incidents — which killed one person and injured three others — in the busy downtown bar district of Jacksonville Beach.

News4JAX asked Hackney about the prevalence of local crime directly related to gang activity, and just how many gangs he suspects are operating within the Jacksonville area.

“There’s probably about 55 gangs here in Jacksonville with maybe 500 members loosely, some that you can’t put the certified tag on, but may be tied to the certified gang members, but what the unfortunate thing is of those 55 gangs, they are responsible for so much of the city’s violent crime,” Hackney said.

Police said drug-related shootings and domestic violence crimes make up another large portion of the gun violence tied to gang activity in the River City.

Police in Jacksonville Beach have not said if the multiple shootings on Sunday are gang-related. But Hackney said behind the scenes, police are looking into every possibility, and using gang members’ social media footprint to their advantage.

“Fortunately, for law enforcement, a lot of these gang members will put their information out there, be it from YouTube or rap videos, where they talk about their involvement, and show pictures of themselves and others with other known gang members which is a piece of becoming a certified gang member. So, if you’re doing things with those that are certified gang members, and wearing certain colors that are associated with gangs, that helps law enforcement as well,” Hackney said.

Jacksonville Beach Police have not identified the person they have in custody and it’s possible they may not for quite some time.

According to Hackney, police oftentimes keep this kind of sensitive gang information to themselves for the time being, while they work to identify everyone involved in Sunday’s violence.

Palm Beach International Boat Show

For superyacht shoppers, the Palm Beach International Boat Show, kicking off its four-day run this week, is set to break records with more than 60 yachts over 100 feet long on display. Last year was also a banner year for superyachts at the show.

Headliners will include the likes of the 295-foot Corsair Nero ,  the 278-foot Victorious by AKYacht, the 230-foot Turquoise-built Talisman C , and 213-foot Benetti Triumph among brokerage yachts, and in new yachts, the 113-foot Ocean Alexander Puro 35 is making its world debut.

There are so many gleaming white vessels over 100 feet, in fact, that the fleet will be split between the Palm Harbor Marina at the main show site on the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront and the Safe Harbor Rybovich Marina two miles north.

Now in its 42nd year, PBIBS will also showcase hundreds of models of dayboats, cruisers, and fishing boats, as well as marine accessories. Running from this Thursday through Sunday, the show coincides with the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary art show, a fortuitous opportunity for yacht owners wanting to add new art to their collections.

Here are 10 must-see boats at this year’s show.

Corsair Yachts ‘Nero’

yachts in jacksonville florida

The undisputed star of this year’s Palm Beach show? That would be the 295-foot, classically styled superyacht Nero , built in 2007 and inspired by American financier J.P. Morgan’s legendary 1930s steamer Corsair IV . Nero ‘s attendance at PBIBS marks its return to the charter market after an extensive refit in 2021. Now better than new, the boat is being managed by Burgess. With weekly charter rates from $497,000, the vessel offers five-star accommodations for 12 guests in six cabins, with pampering from a crew of 20. Part of the refit included a full interior refresh by Italian interior designer Laura Pomponi, plus a major focus on wellness. That meant the construction of a new, state-of-the-art gym and spa, the assistance of a certified onboard trainer, a masseuse and beautician. After PBIBS, Nero will spend the winter in the Caribbean before returning to the Med for the summer season.

Ocean Alexander Puro 35P

yachts in jacksonville florida

Ocean Alexander is debuting the first of its new Puro superyacht series at PBIBS. The 113-foot Puro 35P comes from the drawing board of Italian designer Giorgio M. Cassetta and is a step back from the polarizing lines of OA’s recent Revolution and Explorer series with their bold, vertical bow designs. Aimed at long-distance cruising, the 35P can carry over 5,000 gallons of fuel and is powered by twin 2,000 hp MAN V12s for a 24-knot top speed. Twin 55kW Kohler generators can also keep the yacht powered at anchor for long periods. Other standout features include extensive glazing in the chiseled fiberglass hull, a forward deck plunge pool, and spacious accommodations for 10 guests.

yachts in jacksonville florida

Think of it as the “starter” Sirena. Aimed at a younger demographic, the Turkish builder’s brand-new Sirena 48 is making its U.S. debut at PBIBS after a global reveal at last fall’s Cannes boat show. Such is its appeal that 27 hulls have already been sold, with 13 of the orders coming from North America. Looking like a scaled-down version of Sirena’s popular 58, its distinctive, trawler-style lines are from Argentinian designer Germán Frers. With more interior space than a typical 48-footer, the yacht offers three staterooms—plus a crew cabin—a spacious, light-filled salon, a large cockpit, an oversized flybridge, and a vast forward social area. Take your pick from twin 550 hp Cummins QSB, or 670 hp Volvo D11 turbo diesels. Or the builder is also offering hybrid power with twin 285 hp electric motors charged up by variable-speed generators that are good for a 30-mile battery-only range.

Feadship ‘Olympus’

yachts in jacksonville florida

Picture purchasing a classic 180-foot Feadship superyacht, and then getting a $10 million bill for a major refit. That was the case with Olympus , built by the Dutch masters at Feadship in 1996 to a design by Britain’s Andrew Winch and the celebrated naval architect Frits De Voogt. Sold in 2022, the new owner sent it to the Monaco Marine refit center in La Ciotat, France for a major makeover. It included overhauling the 2,600 hp Caterpillar engines and generators, repairs to the structure, substantial upgrades to the guest areas and crew quarters, and new paint throughout. With the work completed just last year, the vessel is said to be in mint condition. Offered jointly by brokers Fraser and Edmiston, Olympus has an asking price of $28.5 million. With accommodations for 16 guests in eight cabins, the boat’s highlights include two primary suites, tropical-spec air conditioning, and Palm Beach-chic decor.

Benetti ‘Triumph’

yachts in jacksonville florida

Italian yachting powerhouse Benetti is showing off its superyacht-building skills with the 213-foot Triumph . Delivered in 2021, this Giorgio M. Cassetta-designed steel-and-aluminum world girder features six decks, a 1,400-square-foot primary suite with outdoor terrace and adjoining lounge, a 750-square-foot beach club, and a touch-and-go helipad. What sets Triumph apart, however, is its lavish interior furnishings put together by the owner along with Benetti Interior Style and Monaco-based Green & Mingarelli Design. It includes pieces by French glassmaker Lalique, marble from Marfil, Statuario and Armani, furs, silk and wool carpets, plus a collection of cool black-and-white wildlife photographs by British fine art photographer David Yarrow. The pièce de résistance? That would be the owner’s Triumph Bonneville motorcycle displayed in the salon.

Fjord 39 XP/XL

yachts in jacksonville florida

Germany’s Fjord Yachts, part of the Hanse Group, has a new 39-foot day boat that it’s unveiling at the Palm Beach show. The 39 XP and XL keep all the bold design cues of the bigger Fjord 41 XP and XL, like a big, open cockpit, walkaround center console, vertical bow, mile-high windshield and stretched hardtop. As for the differences between the XP and XL, it’s all about power. The XL comes with a choice of twin 320hp Volvo D4 diesels, or bigger 440 hp D6 versions, both with Volvo stern drives. Likely more appealing to U.S. buyers will be the XP powered by twin 400 hp Mercury Verado V10 outboards giving a 50-knot top speed. Pricing starts at around $500,000.

Turquoise ‘Talisman C’

yachts in jacksonville florida

Chandeliers don’t come more dramatic than this. Cascading down the central spiral staircase of the Turkish-built, 231-foot superyacht Talisman C , this jaw-dropping piece of art comprises an array of multi-colored glass balls threaded on stainless-steel rods and illuminated by hanging fiber-optic strands. It’s the creation of Prague-based Crystal Caviar and is one of a number of glass installations on this sleek, low-profile superyacht. Built in 2011 by the Proteksan Turquoise shipyard, Talisman C was designed inside and out by London-based studio H2 Yacht Design, with naval architecture by Italy’s Hydro Tec. With cabins for 12 guests, one of its highlights is a huge primary suite, which boasts more crystal chandeliers and a private library. Twin 2,447 hp Caterpillar diesels give a top speed of 18 knots and a transatlantic range of 7,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. It’s listed with Burgess for $59.9 million.

Sanlorenzo 44 ‘Kamakasa’

yachts in jacksonville florida

Delivered in 2020 and sold to a new buyer just last August, the 146-foot Sanlorenzo 44 Alloy Kamakasa will be for sale at PBIBS. The asking price, through the Italian Yacht Group, is $23.75 million. Lack of use might also be the issue here; the yacht’s twin 2,600 hp MTU V16 diesels have a mere 289 hours on the clock. Built in aluminum to a design by Rome-based Zuccon International Project, Kamakasa was the second hull in the Sanlorenzo 44 Alloy series. One of the top features is a primary suite that spans three levels and almost 1,600 square feet; it also comes with a private Jacuzzi, separate bathrooms, a walk-in closet, and a private study. The yacht’s lightweight construction and MTU power combine to deliver an impressive 20-knot top speed.

Bahama 41 GT2

yachts in jacksonville florida

As ultimate, reel-’em-in, fishing center consoles go, the Bahama 41 from West Palm Beach-based Bahama Boat Works is as hard-core as they come. But when owners kept asking for a little more comfort for the family, the builder responded. The result is the brand-new flagship 41 GT debuting at PBIBS. While the proven, wave-slicing hull stays the same, the cockpit layout is new. In place of the single bench seat, there are now three-across bucket seats with a second row behind. The wider console now has space for a pair of 22-inch Garmin screens, while the new extended hardtop features sun shades and even a rain shower. Outboard choices stay the same with either twin Mercury V12 600s, or four 400 hp Mercury V10s, good for a 65-knot-plus top speed. Pricing is from around $920,000.

Heesen ‘Book Ends’

yachts in jacksonville florida

Launched in 2022, this 164-foot Heesen is part of the Book Ends collection, owned by an American couple who have had more than 18 yachts with the same name. The exterior design of this Heesen was by Omega Architects, while Dutch studio Van Oossanen did the naval architecture. The yacht is part of Heesen’s fast cruising series, which is more efficient than other vessels its size, and can reach 23 knots at full speed with its MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines. The yacht is listed through Ocean Independence for 42 million Euro, or about $45.7 million.

1 killed, 2 injured in Jacksonville Beach shooting, police say

An evening of St. Patrick's Day celebrations ended with one person dead and two others injured in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on Sunday, police said.

Police continued to search for what they believe may be more than one shooter in the violence in a nightlife district of downtown Jacksonville Beach teeming with holiday celebrants and spring breakers, a city police spokesperson, Sgt. Tonya Tator, said at a makeshift news conference.

Mayor Christine Hoffman said that the violence may be the result of separate incidents but that the root of it was still a matter of active investigation.

"There were several different incidents that were ... potentially unrelated," she said at a separate news conference. "So we want to know as much as we can find out."

Tator said the injured were stabilized at medical facilities. Information about the two, as well as about the deceased, such as age and gender, was not available.

The violence was at first described as an active shooter incident, although there did not appear to be subsequent reports of shots fired.

Though many of the night's patrons were at bars and restaurants, the violence took place "out in the open," Tater said.

NBC affiliate  WJXT of Jacksonville  reported that authorities shut down the nightlife district for the evening as detectives continue their probe. Tater said the city's beachfront was also closed in response to the violence.

The City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security Division said on social media platform X that a shelter in place order for those in the area was lifted shortly before 11 p.m.

3 shootings lock down Jacksonville Beach bar district on St. Patrick's Day; 1 dead

yachts in jacksonville florida

Three separate shootings over about 45 minutes in the crowded St. Patrick’s Day bar district in Jacksonville Beach locked down the area Sunday night in what police called an active shooter situation .

A helicopter could be heard overhead as dozens of officers attempted to contain the scene and search for evidence and what is believed to be more than one shooter. Chief Gene Paul Smith said one person is dead and three were in serious condition. Two shot each other, and one person was an innocent visitor from out of town, he said.

“This is Players Weekend, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, it’s spring break. We have a lot going on out here,” Jacksonville Beach Mayor Chris Hoffman said after arriving at the scene in the area of First and Second avenues. “The fact that we have a couple of bad actors out here that really made a dangerous situation for everyone, it’s extremely tragic and unfortunate.”

Earlier in the week the Police Department had received intel that there would be a gathering under the pier Sunday, Smith said.

"Anywhere from to 250 to 400 juveniles in their late teens arrived at that location," he said. "Because of the intelligence information, we proactively had officers assigned to this group. This group engaged in boxing matches, fights and other incidents that the Jacksonville Beach Police Department had to take action to disperse the crowd. When the crowd was dispersed, that’s when the [first] shootings happened.”

That was about 7:50 p.m. in the 400 block of the boardwalk near the Best Western hotel. One of the wounded who self-reported to a hospital is a certified gang member, Smith said. The gathering is believed to have been locals and not spring breakers.

At about 8:15 p.m. officers saw a male running by The Ritz bar displaying a pistol and firing a shot. This prompted a foot chase, but he eluded officers.

About 8:30 p.m. they responded to a shooting behind Sneakers Sports Grille. A 21-year-old man was killed there, the chief said. This also is when the department issued an active threat alert, locking down the bars and evacuating the downtown area.

“This was a huge task on a Sunday night in Jacksonville Beach that was basically a holiday," Smith said.

They also called in all crime scene investigators, detectives, SWAT team members and command staff — 50 to 70 local staff, in addition to other first responders.

Smith stressed there were multiple shooters, scenes and bullet shell casings. Two of the firearms have been recovered, he said.

Witnesses told First Coast News they heard gunshots and saw people scurrying in panic, and a person receiving CPR near Joe's Crab Shack.

“I was coming home from the tournament,” Hoffman said. “It was a great day, beautiful weather. It was an amazing weekend out here for us across the Beaches. To come off of that and to walk right into a tragedy, no mayor wants to go through that. I don’t want to go through that, but this is what we have to deal with. My first instinct is to come support our police officers, to support our leadership and our public safety as they investigate the situation and our path forward.”

No arrests have been announced, and the descriptions have been limited of the culprits. But Smith reiterated that Jacksonville Beach is safe.

“This is a one-off, but it’s gonna happen," he said. "It’s a game of numbers” because of all the people visiting each year and living here.

Anyone with information about the case can call police at (904) 270-1661 or First Coast Crime Stoppers at (866) 845-8477 (845-TIPS). Or text **8477 to remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards or email [email protected].

Holiday violence has troubled Jacksonville Beach in the past.

In 2017 a double shooting left one dead in a post Fourth of July celebration shooting near the SeaWalk Pavilion/Latham Plaza. That scene also is  where a Memorial Day 2013 brawl caught on cellphone video  left two men injured after several fights erupted near the pier and spread around SeaWalk Pavilion amid holiday crowds. Police beefed up patrols and security for holiday events after that incident, which prompted numerous community meetings.

Haitian migrant boat with guns, drugs intercepted in Florida: What we know

yachts in jacksonville florida

Over two dozen people this past month were discovered by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers being smuggled into Florida, according to FWC reports. Included in the group were unaccompanied children and armed smugglers attempting to make their way into Sebastian Inlet on Feb. 29, FWC said in a statement released Friday. Law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the case in which guns and drugs were also seized from a 42-foot vessel in in Brevard County near the Indian River County line. Gov. Ron DeSantis used it as a prime example for tougher laws.

What did FWC officers discover on migrant boat?

FWC reports said the boat's operator was armed. There were 25 people, including five unaccompanied children, on board the boat entering the country. Officers also found firearms, night vision gear and drugs, the report said. The exact details of the interdiction were not released.

Who is investigating the smuggling operation?

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are carrying out an investigation into the boat. It was not reported if charges had been filed in the case as of Monday morning.

What did Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis say about armed migrant boat?

DeSantis pointed to the incident as an example for the need to deter illegal immigration in a press conference this past weekend. Two separate laws signed by the governor would crack down on penalties for undocumented immigrants driving without a license and those who are re-entering the country after previously being deported.

“In their boat, in their vessel, they had firearms, they had drugs, they had night vision gear and were boating very recklessly, which would potentially endanger other folks,” DeSantis  told reporters on Friday.

DeSantis said int he press conference that the migrants were deported by the U.S. Coast Guard.

This incident comes two months after DeSantis announced that he is sending approximately 1,000 Florida National Guard troops to Texas to assist in security along the Mexican border.

Last week, DeSantis also announced that he was shoring up immigration security in the Florida Keys, where he deployed "250 additional officers and soldiers and over a dozen air and sea craft to the southern coast of Florida to protect our state."

3 separate shootings mar St. Patrick's Day festivities in Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

Police are searching for multiple suspects in three different shootings that left one person dead and at least three injured as thousands crowded in downtown Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Sunday night for St. Patrick's Day festivities.

The shootings occurred near the city's beachfront after police broke up a group of up to 400 people in their late teens who gathered under the pier Sunday afternoon.

"This group engaged in boxing matches, fights and other incidents. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department had to take action," Jacksonville Beach Police Chief Gene Paul Smith said at a new conference on Monday morning. "When the crowd dispersed, that's when the shooting happened."

Police responded to the first shooting at a Best Western hotel at around 7:50 p.m., Smith said. The shooting left three people injured – two were transported to the hospital afterward, and another self-reported an injury. Authorities believe two of the victims fired at each other, while the third was an innocent bystander, Smith said.

Less than half an hour later, reports came in of a second shooting in a parking lot outside the Ritz, a cocktail bar. No one was injured or killed, and the shooter fled the scene in a black ski mask, Smith said. Officers found one firearm.

Police responded to the third shooting, which left one victim dead, at Sneakers Sports Grille at 8:31 p.m. Officers believe three suspects pulled out firearms, Smith said. The identity of the 21-year-old victim has not been released.

The shootings are believed to be unrelated, Smith said. The investigation remains ongoing, and the identities of the suspects have not been released.

"Quite frankly, I'm pissed off," Smith said. "I want you to come to Jacksonville Beach, I want you to live here, I want you to visit, but if you break the law, we're going to put you in jail."

Smith said officials do not know if any of the shootings were gang-related. The victim who self-reported an injury in the first shooting is a known gang member, he said.

Jacksonville police have asked people to contact authorities if they have information related to the incidents.
