PULSAR II73' X-Yachts 2016 2002

X73 “Pulsar II” is a fast cruising yacht with unique features and a spacious design. She is the best of all worlds. With her very easy sail handling systems she can be sailed by two. Alternatively, two crew support the owner. Her 2 double cabins plus 3rd bunk bed cabin layout, as well as 3 saloon bunks make her especially attractive. She is maintained to the highest standards, and is just used privately by her current owners. She spent the first 7 years cruising the Baltics and the North Sea, after which the Med and Caribbean. The ‘doghouse’ behind the cockpit, which replaces the more common canvas sprayhood, is an excellent protection in colder weather and when making ocean passages. The tall rig combined with the van Oossanen double wing keel and the typical ‘X hull’ give ‘Pulsar II’ excellent upwind sailing characteristics, reaching 10 knots even in light winds.

Compared to most deck saloon alternatives, the X-73 is designed as a faster, more spacious and safer ship.

+ Construction

The X-YACHTS 73 is built in accordance with the European CE-Certification, design category ‘A’ for ocean sailing.

She has an (Awlgrip Corinthia) blue hull of an Isotalic Polyester sandwich construction with biaxial E-glass fabrics. The core material is 20-40 mm Divinycell of different densities vacuum bagged into the outer skins. Solid laminate around keel steel girder, rudder bearings, and at all "through-hull" fittings such as seacocks and bow thruster exit. Hull laminated with extensive use of biaxial E-glass fabrics. Structural bulkheads are of composite sandwich decorated with 4 - 6 mm teak marine plywood, securely bonded to both hull and deck. Watertight bulkhead separating the sail/crew cabin and the owner's cabin.

11 mm teak decks (from 2015) at front and side decks, at coach roof in front of the doghouse and at outer cockpit coamings, at seats and floors in cockpit and at stern steps - and finally at stern ports "inside" as well as at the aftmost floor behind the lazarette and inside lazarette.

Heat galvanized TPS steel sections welded together into an extended H-frame, typical for X-Yacht construction. This frame takes up all the loads from keel and mast.

All windows mounted into moulded GRP house which is laminated as part of the deck moulding. Laminated 16 mm hardened smoke coloured glass. Deck hatches are chrome polished Lewmar Ocean series, portlights in deckhouse and hull are Chrome polished Lewmar Atlantic series.

Behind the aft steering positions, there is a U shaped lower sofa and 2 small tables. Forward of steering there is the outside dining space, partly situated under the ‘doghouse’, offering protection without a canvas sprayhood. The coach house has a full teak deck and offers a large space for sunbathing, optionally using cushions, on the teak platform with a total surface of almost 9m2.

Van Oossanen double-wing  13,6-ton  keel, providing 30% less resistance due to side force, as well as increased stability when sailing upwind, resulting in a better performance.

Electrically/hydraulic switch operated opening transom, chain driven by hydraulic motors. The transom port while opening is a practical bathing platform with a recessed folded stainless steel bathing ladder. The transom steps have teak treads. The gas tank is placed in a protective PVC box with plexiglass cover for extra protection.

All deck hatches except for the sliding hatch have SKY SCREEN blinds and fly screen units integrated into the headlining.

Hot and cold freshwater deck shower located in a step locker within the transom.

Freshwater outlet on deck at the bow, including hose for freshwater washdown

4 pairs of 400mm stainless steel ‘pop-up’ mooring cleats.

5 pairs of 100mm stainless steel openings in the deck rails for guiding mooring lines.

Pulsar II accommodates 12 in total. Entering through the cockpit door we must step down and are facing the "Panorama view" sofa arrangement at deck level. This leads to a spacious design that is unique in its kind and which normally is found on larger yachts.

The engine room is below this island type construction that is surrounded by: on port side the galley and starboard the stairs leading to the salon on one side and the aft connection to the cabins and the galley.

Forward we find the salon with a large U-shaped table and two chairs. Across there are two sofas, one of them with an elegant drinks table. The second sofa has a backrest that can be optionally lifted and used as an additional bunk.

All berths are fitted with a battening system. The owner's cabin is forward of the mast, the salon that is located just aft of the mast. A full-beam owner’s cabin offers plenty of space for the king-size bed and lockers and on starboard a sofa that can be turned in an additional bed. Large and comfortable wc/shower room.

The salon and owner’s cabin offers DVD and CD Bang & Olofsson.

Two guest cabins are located aft of the salon on either side, each with en suite WC / shower rooms. These cabins offer a resp a double bed with a higher placed bunk and 2 bunks above each other.

The interiors are light and practical, with as a major theme the combination of light teak and light blue Alcanthara covering the cushions. Modern and sober Danish design with some classical lamps for variation. All corners are beautifully rounded and designed, in a refined and detailed way that demonstrates the dedication of the interior architect.

All fronts of drawers, doors for working tables and wardrobes have an 8 mm solid wooden capping; the integrated louvers ventilating the same areas are flush. The veneers are light teak with a silk finish.

Forward of the owner's cabin is a watertight bulkhead with a Miele washing machine and the storage for the Gennaker, behind which there are 2 crew cabins and one shower room.

The 28 mm thick floorboards are made of plastic honeycomb sandwiched between 2 layers of teak plywood with light holly stripes. All drawers use metal runners which give extremely smooth operation. The visible topsides are lined with white vinyl paneling. Enough grab rails of varnished teak or stainless steel to make her a good sea boat.

The toilets are Sealand VacuFlush. Each head compartment is fitted with a Granite washbasin and thermostatically controlled mixer taps for the shower. All piping and fittings made of rigid polypropylene.

Sinks and mixer tabs

Each head compartment will be fitted with a "high tech" Granite washbasin and thermostatically controlled mixer taps for shower and quality mixer taps for washbasins. All piping and fittings made of rigid polypropylene.

California yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker in vicious showdown, cali yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker drops pants for rude salute, 95 3/13/2024 8:09 am pt.

A California yacht owner's vicious beef with a dock worker has reached death-threat levels -- and their exchange was caught on camera and included a nude, and very rude, gesture!

Check out the clip ... it all unfolds when San Diego entrepreneur Ajay Thakore swings by the swanky Marriott Marquis Marina in his rare $4.5M Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht to pick up one of his employees -- but things boil over when dock worker Joseph Holt tells him he can't be there.

Thakore, the CEO of medical advertising firm Doctor Multimedia, flips out on Holt big time ... and starts spewing threats like, "I will kill you, you know I will kill you, I will kill."

And it doesn't stop there -- as Thakore's pulling out of the harbor, he drops trou to make a full frontal salute in Holt's direction. Stay classy, San Diego!

Holt's only retaliation was flipping the bird, and he later told CBS8 that was all he could do to keep his cool and avoid escalating the situation.

Holt says parts of the altercation were not captured on camera, and he adds ... Thakore not only threatened to kill him, but also claimed to have connections who could totally mess up his life.

Holt also says Thakore pulled out $100 bills and tossed them at him, even chucking some in the water.

BTW, Thakore's done some backpedaling since the ugly exchange -- he now says, "The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange."

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

FWIW ... One of Thakore’s employees claims the whole thing began because other dock workers blocked him from boarding the yacht.

Oh, and if that fancy Lambo yacht looks familiar -- it's the same one Chuck Liddell recently tumbled off just last month. Now it's famous AND infamous!

Cannabis vaping liquids contain lead and other toxic metals

The heating elements in vapes can release toxic metals. Now an analysis of cannabis vaping liquids shows metals like lead are present at dangerous levels – even before the vape is used

Cannabis vape pens can contain unsafe levels of heavy metals

Richard Vogel/AP/ Alamy

Cannabis vape liquids contain toxic heavy metals that do not come from the device itself. In both legal and illegal products, the concentration of nano-sized metal particles exceeds the safe limits for metal intake.

Vaping is touted as a healthier alternative to smoking because heating a drug into an inhalable vapour, rather than burning it, releases lower levels of toxic chemicals. However, vaping liquid does contain other dangerous additives such as benzene, a carcinogen also found in car exhaust. Research …

What is ketamine? Elon Musk discusses using the drug in interview with Don Lemon

Ketamine was one of the many topics discussed in a contentious interview released this week between former CNN host Don Lemon and billionaire X owner Elon Musk.

Lemon's hour-long interview with Musk was released Monday for for the debut of "The Don Lemon Show" on X. After the interview, Lemon, who was fired by CNN in 2023, revealed that Musk decided to cancel a partnership between his show and X.

Early in the interview, Lemon asked Musk if he was "sober" when he posts "controversial stuff" on X. Lemon also questioned Musk on his use of ketamine to treat depression.

"It's pretty private to ask somebody about a medical prescription," Musk replied, saying ketamine is helpful for getting him out of a "negative frame of mind."

Lemon followed up by asking Musk if he ever abuses ketamine. Musk denied doing so and said he takes a "small amount once every other week."

Musk is not the only celebrity who has used ketamine. Actor Matthew Perry was using ketamine under the care of a physician for the  treatment of depression , although the levels of ketamine in his system at the time of his death in October weren’t related to his last infusion. Other celebrities who have used the substance include Chrissy Teigen and Sharon Osborne .

What is ketamine, and is it dangerous to use? Here's what you should know.

Don Lemon's new show on X: What happened with contentious Elon Musk interview

What is ketamine?

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration .

It binds to the NDMA receptors and is essentially a “stop” signal. It starts to interfere with the connection between your brain and your body.

The effects are dose-dependent, but it generally leads to a “disconnected” feeling from you, your person – and your body. Symptoms range from unconsciousness, (like when used in general anesthesia) to an “out of body” experience or  hallucinations .

Is ketamine legal?

Ketamine is a legal medication that’s used for many medical purposes. It is approved as a medical product as an injectable, short-acting anesthetic for use in humans and animals, the DEA says , and as a nasal spray to help treat depression.

However, most of the ketamine distributed in the U.S. is done so illegally, per the DEA. It's often diverted or stolen from legitimate sources like veterinary clinics, or smuggled into the country, the agency says.

Dr. Ryan Marino, a Medical Toxicologist, Emergency Medicine Physician, and Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland previously told USA TODAY that ketamine is considered a general anesthetic, but can be used for many different medical purposes.

“Ketamine was primarily developed for anesthesia for surgical procedures, and it is still used for that indication today. It is also used as a general sedative – so for people who are on ventilators or if they have some other kind of critical illness and need continuous medication for comfort and sedation.”

He added that it’s also used in the emergency department for some minor procedures like reducing fractures and dislocations.

Ketamine is classified as a Schedule III drug by the DEA, which denotes substances "with a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological dependence."

The Food and Drug Administration issued a notice in October 2023 that ketamine has not been approved for treatment of psychiatric disorders.

Most Americans want legal pot. Here's why feds are taking so long to change old rules.

Is ketamine an opioid?

Ketamine is not an opioid.

Ketamine works by suppressing glutamate signaling in your brain, while opioids ”hijack” your endogenous (naturally occurring) opioid system.

From Russia, Elaborate Tales of Fake Journalists

As the Ukraine war grinds on, the Kremlin has created increasingly complex fabrications online to discredit Ukraine’s leader and undercut aid. Some have a Hollywood-style plot twist.

By Steven Lee Myers

  • Published March 18, 2024 Updated March 19, 2024, 4:31 p.m. ET

A young man calling himself Mohamed al-Alawi appeared in a YouTube video in August. He described himself as an investigative journalist in Egypt with a big scoop: The mother-in-law of Ukraine’s president had purchased a villa near Angelina Jolie’s in El Gouna, a resort town on the Red Sea.

The story, it turned out, was not true. Ukraine denied it, and the owner of the villa refuted it. Also disconnected from reality: Alawi’s claim to being a journalist.

Still, his story caromed through social media and news outlets from Egypt to Nigeria and ultimately to Russia — which, according to researchers, is where the story all began.

The story seemed to fade, but not for long. Four months later, two new videos appeared on YouTube. They said Mohamed al-Alawi had been beaten to death in Hurghada, a town about 20 miles south of El Gouna. The suspected killers, according to the videos: Ukraine’s secret service agents.

These claims were no more factual than the first, but they gave new life to the old lie. Another round of posts and news reports ultimately reached millions of internet users around the world, elevating the narrative so much that it was even echoed by members of the U.S. Congress while debating continued military assistance to Ukraine.

Ever since its forces invaded two years ago , Russia has unleashed a torrent of disinformation to try to discredit Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, and undermine the country’s support in the West.

This saga, though, introduced a new gambit: a protracted and elaborately constructed narrative built online around a fictitious character and embellished with seemingly realistic detail and a plot twist worthy of Netflix.

“They never brought back a character before,” said Darren Linvill, a professor and director of the Media Forensics Hub at Clemson University, who has extensively studied Russian disinformation.

The campaign shows how deftly Russia’s information warriors have shifted to new tactics and targets as the war in Ukraine has dragged on, just as Russian forces on the ground in Ukraine have adjusted tactics after devastating battlefield losses.

Groups with ties to the Kremlin continue to float new narratives when old ones fail to stick or grow stale, using fake or altered videos or recordings and finding or creating new outlets to spread disinformation, including ones purporting to be American news sites .

A video appeared on TikTok last month claiming to show a Ukrainian doctor working for Pfizer accusing the company of conducting unlawful tests on children. On the social network X, a man claiming to be an associate producer for Paramount Pictures spun a tale about a Hollywood biopic on Mr. Zelensky’s life.

The tale attributed to Mohamed al-Alawi is not even the only baseless allegation that Mr. Zelensky had secretly purchased properties abroad using Western financial assistance. Other versions — each seemingly tailored for a specific geographic audience — have detailed a mansion in Vero Beach, Fla., and a retreat in Germany once used by Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of propaganda.

The Russians have “demonstrated adaptability through the war on Ukraine,” Microsoft wrote in a recent report that disclosed Russia’s fraudulent use of recorded messages by famous actors and celebrities on the Cameo app to try to smear Mr. Zelensky as a drug addict.

Even when debunked, fabrications like these have proved exceedingly difficult to extinguish entirely.

YouTube took down the initial video of the character Mohamed al-Alawi, linking it to two other accounts that had previously violated the company’s policies. The accusation still circulates, however, especially on platforms, like X and Telegram, that experts say do little to block accounts generating inauthentic or automated activity. Some of the posts about the video appear to have used text or audio created with artificial intelligence tools; many are amplified by networks of bots intended to create the impression that the content is popular.

What links the narratives to Russia is not only the content disparaging Ukraine but also the networks that circulate them. They include news outlets and social media accounts that private and government researchers have linked to previous Kremlin campaigns.

“They’re trolling for a susceptible (and seemingly abundant) slice of citizens who amplify their garbage enough to muddy the waters of our discourse, and from there our policies,” said Rita Katz, the director of the SITE Intelligence Group, an American company that tracks extremist activity online and investigated the false claims about the villa.

The Making of a Fake Journalist

used x yacht

The video first appeared on Aug. 20 on a newly created YouTube account that had no previous activity and almost no followers, according to the Institute of Strategic Dialogue, a global nonprofit research organization in London, which traced the video’s spread.

The man appeared in a poorly lit room reading from his computer screen, which was reflected in his thick glasses. He appeared to be a real person, but it has not been possible to verify his actual identity. No one by the name of Mohamed al-Alawi appears to have produced any previous articles or videos, as would be expected of a journalist. According to ActiveFence, an internet security company, the character has no educational or work history, and no network of friends or social connections online.

The video, though, showed what purported to be photographs of a purchase contract and of the villa itself, creating a veneer of authenticity for credulous viewers. The property is, in fact, part of a resort owned by Orascom Development, whose website highlights El Gouna’s “year-round sunshine, shimmering lagoons, sandy beaches and azure waters.”

An article about the video’s claim appeared two days later as a paid advertisement, or branded content, on Punch, a news outlet in Nigeria, as well as three other Nigerian websites that aggregate news and entertainment content.

The article had the byline of Arthur Nkono, who according to internet searches does not appear to have written any other articles. The article quoted a political scientist, Abdrulrahman Alabassy, who likewise appears not to exist except in accounts linking the villa to the corrupt use of Western financial aid to Ukraine. (Punch, which later removed the post, did not respond to requests for comment.)

A day later, the claim made its first appearance on X in a post by Sonja van den Ende, an activist in the Netherlands, whose articles have previously appeared on propaganda outlets linked to the Russian government, according to the Institute for Strategic Dialogue. (She also served as an election observer in an occupied territory of Ukraine during Russian parliamentary elections in September.)

Within days, reports about the villa appeared on X in French and Romanian, and in English on three different Reddit forums.

According to Roberta Duffield, director of intelligence for Blackbird.AI, an internet security company, nearly 29 percent of the accounts amplifying the reports appeared to be inauthentic bots, an unusually high number that would normally indicate a coordinated campaign.

Eight days after the video appeared, Russia state television networks like Channel One, Rossiya 24 and RT (in Arabic and German) reported it as a major revelation uncovered by a renowned Egyptian investigative journalist.

The story seemed to stall there. Naguib Sawiris, the scion of the Egyptian family that owned the development, curtly denied the sale in a reply on X.

And no more was heard from or about the character called Mohamed al-Alawi — until late December.

That was when two new videos emerged on a YouTube channel called “Egypt News,” claiming that he was dead.

The channel had been created the day before. One video showed a man identified as Alawi’s brother, Ahmed, answering questions from another man.

The police, he said, told him that they suspected his brother had been beaten to death by “Ukrainian special forces who acted on behalf of President Zelensky or another high-ranking official.”

He spoke with his hand cupped over his face to obscure his identity. The other video showed what was said to be the site of an attack, though the images were indistinct. “I can’t tell you anything else,” he said in the video, which YouTube later removed. “I’m afraid for my family.”

The video also tried to explain away some of the obvious holes in the initial story, including why there was no evidence online of Alawi’s previous work. “It was his first big assignment,” the man said.

The new episode spread as the first video had. A day later, an article about the death appeared on an obscure website created last year called El Mostaqbal, a name similar to but unrelated to the actual news organization in Lebanon.

“A reporter who announced that Zelensky’s mother-in-law brought a luxury villa has died under mysterious circumstances,” the headline read. Other reports that followed dropped any uncertainty and began referring to his “murder.”

In fact, Egypt’s Ministry of the Interior said there were no reports or evidence that anyone resembling the man in the video had been “subjected to harm.” The statement went on to note that the property itself had not been sold.

Still, according to the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, posts about the supposed killing were viewed a million times on X on Dec. 25.

It also appeared on the website of the Middle East Monitor, or MEMO, operated by a well-known nonprofit organization in London and financed by the government of Qatar. A journalist who once reported from Moscow for The Telegraph of London, Ben Aris, cited it at length on the platform, though, when challenged, he said he had just made note of the rumor. “I don’t have time to check all this stuff myself,” he wrote.

It appeared in English on a site, Clear Story News, that Mr. Linvill of Clemson’s Media Forensics Hub had previously linked to Russia’s disinformation efforts. (The site lists no contact information)

Mr. Linvill described the process as a form of “narrative laundering” — moving false claims from unknown or not credible sources to ones that, to the unwitting at least, seem more legitimate.

More Elaborate Narratives

The Institute for Strategic Dialogue studied three other complex narratives about Ukraine, as well.

One featured a French journalist who claimed that the son of George Soros — a regular target of Russian and far-right political attacks — had secretly acquired land for a toxic waste dump in Ukraine. An unnamed doctor in Africa said in another that an American medical charity, the Global Surgical and Medical Support Group, was harvesting the organs of wounded Ukrainian soldiers for transplants for NATO officers.

Then there was the case of a man calling himself Shahzad Nasir, whose profile on X identifies him as a journalist with Emirates 24/7, an English-language news outlet in Dubai, though he has no apparent bylines on the site.

In November, he claimed that cronies of Mr. Zelensky bought two yachts — Lucky Me and My Legacy — for $75 million. His evidence, like Mohamed al-Alawi’s, includes photographs of the vessels and purported purchase agreements.

In fact, as the BBC documented in December, the yachts had not been purchased and remained for sale. Despite numerous efforts by fact checkers to dispel it as rumor, the claim circulated extensively.

Last month, the character Nasir reappeared in another video. This time he had a new version of the tale, claiming that the purchases had been scuttled after he exposed the secret deal.

The ramifications of these campaigns are difficult to measure precisely. There are signs, though, that they resonate even when proved false.

Senator J.D. Vance, a Republican of Ohio and an outspoken critic of Ukraine aid, seemed to embrace the claim in December during an interview on “War Room,” the podcast hosted by Stephen K. Bannon, the onetime adviser to former President Donald J. Trump.

“There are people who would cut Social Security — throw our grandparents into poverty — why?” Mr. Vance said. “So that one of Zelensky’s ministers can buy a bigger yacht?”

That prompted a public rebuke this month from a Republican colleague, Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who ridiculed those who repeat unproven allegations.

“They’ve heard somebody say that if we pass this bill, that we’re all going to go ride to Kyiv with buckets full of money and let oligarchs buy yachts!” he said of critics of the assistance to Ukraine, in what he later called a reference to Mr. Vance’s comments. “I wonder how the spouses of the estimated 25,000 soldiers in Ukraine who have died feel about that? I mean, really, guys?”

Karoun Demirjian contributed reporting.

An earlier version of this article misstated, in one reference, the name of a group at Clemson University that studies disinformation. It is the Media Forensics Hub, not the Digital Media Hub.

Our Coverage of the War in Ukraine

News and Analysis

A day after securing a new term in a rubber-stamp presidential election, President Vladimir Putin of Russia said he would not back down in Russia’s war against Ukraine .

With additional American aid still in doubt, Lloyd Austin, the U.S. defense secretary, called for “creative, adaptable and sustainable ways” to continue arming Ukraine  and praised European allies who were trying to bolster Kyiv’s military.

Ukraine fired a volley of exploding drones  at Moscow and other targets on the final day of Russia’s presidential vote, the local authorities said, continuing a flurry of attacks timed for the election .

Elaborate Tales: As the Ukraine war grinds on, the Kremlin has created increasingly complex fabrications online  to discredit Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, and undermine the country’s support in the West.

Targeting Russia’s Oil Industry: With its army short of ammunition and troops to break the deadlock on the battlefield, Kyiv has increasingly taken the fight beyond the Ukrainian border, attacking oil infrastructure deep in Russian territory .

Electronic Warfare: Drones have become a critical weapon for both Russia and Ukraine. But Moscow’s capability to overpower Ukrainian signals  by broadcasting on the same frequencies at higher power is putting Kyiv at a disadvantage.

Don Lemon asks about ketamine use, hate speech on X in contentious Elon Musk interview

The first episode of Don Lemon 's new show, and his tense interview with Elon Musk , is here.

The former CNN anchor on Monday premiered the debut episode of "The Don Lemon Show," which consists of an hour-long, contentious interview with the Tesla CEO. Last week, Lemon, 58, revealed that after the interview was conducted, Musk, 52, decided to cancel a partnership between his show and X, formerly Twitter.

"Elon Musk has canceled the partnership I had with X, which they announced as part of their public commitment to amplifying more diverse voices on their platform. He informed me of his decision hours after an interview I conducted with him on Friday," Lemon, who was fired by CNN in 2023 , said.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

X  responded that Lemon's show is "welcome to publish its content on X" but that the company reserves the right "to make decisions about our business partnerships, and after careful consideration, X decided not to enter into a commercial partnership with the show." Musk also posted on X that Lemon's "approach was basically just 'CNN, but on social media,' which doesn't work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying."

Lemon says he took show to X after Musk's 'months of begging me'

"We're still here," Lemon declared at the start of the premiere episode of "The Don Lemon Show," clarifying that the show wasn't "canceled" by X since it was never going to be exclusive to the platform.

Don Lemon's show canceled by Elon Musk on X, a year after CNN firing

"Yes, after months of begging me, wooing me to offer some exclusive content on his platform, Elon Musk decided to scrap the deal," Lemon said. "But our plan is, and always has been, to release this show everywhere."

Lemon added that he isn't sure what "went wrong" with the interview but challenged Musk to watch it and "tell the world why this isn't what you claim you want on X." The full interview was shared on X and YouTube.

Lemon asks Musk about his ketamine use, hate speech on X

One early contentious moment in the interview came when Lemon asked Musk whether he is "sober" when he posts "controversial stuff" on X. "Almost always, yes," Musk replied.

Lemon subsequently grilled Musk on some of his controversial X posts, including claims that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) puts lives at risk by lowering medical standards. Lemon strongly pushed back on this assertion, while Musk maintained that this "could become an issue."

Has Elon Musk gone too far? Outrage grows over antisemitic 'actually truth' post

"The actual evidence and history shows the exact opposite if you look at how minorities are treated by the medical system," Lemon said, adding, "There's no actual evidence of what you're saying."

Lemon and Musk also argued over whether X needs to do more to moderate hate speech on the platform, with the news anchor showing antisemitic posts that remain on X. "From your own content policy, these posts should have been deleted," Lemon said. Musk responded that X deletes posts if they're "illegal" before adding, "So Don, you love censorship."

Following an argument regarding Musk's controversial posts about immigration, Musk told Lemon he doesn't "have to answer questions from reporters" and only agreed to do this interview "because you're on the X platform and you asked for it."

Musk tells Lemon he's 'upsetting me' with question about X

The interview closed on a tense note as Musk warned Lemon he was running out of time and admitted to being upset by one of his final questions. Lemon questioned Musk's statement that advertisers who leave X could kill the company, asking, "Doesn't the buck stop with you?"

After Musk took a long pause before responding that he is trying to "preserve freedom of speech in America," Lemon said he is "not trying to get you or anything" before asking, "Why would that question upset you? You seem upset by it. Are you?"

"You are upsetting me because the way you're phrasing questions is not cogent," Musk told him.

Lemon says Musk isn't used to being questioned by someone 'who doesn't look like him'

In an interview with People ahead of the episode, Lemon alleged that Musk is "not used to being held to account" and "not used to having to answer to anyone, especially someone like me who doesn't share his worldview, who doesn't look like him." The journalist also said that although he has "interviewed many world leaders, presidents to convicts," no one "has been more sensitive or touchy than Elon Musk."
