How Much Time Off Does The Below Deck Cast Get During A Season?

Below Deck cast

Spending weeks on end on a luxury yacht might sound like a dream to some, but all that time together it can be rough seas for the cast of Below Deck . There's always some sort of drama happening, both above and below deck, that the crew is constantly a part of. And since they seemingly spend every waking hour with each other, it's no wonder that they sometimes (well, let's face it, all the time) seem to get on each other's nerves. But if you're wondering if bosuns, stews, and deckhands ever get a break, here's how much time the Below Deck cast gets during a season.

If it seems like the Below Deck cast is together a lot, well, they are. They work together, they live together, eat their meals together, and (ahem) often get drunk together (via New York Times ). Work and play seemingly mesh with each new season and cast of characters. But to understand how much time off the cast has, you first have to understand how long a charter season actually is. Unlike other reality shows that might film over many months, though, Below Deck only takes a few weeks to film (via Bravo TV ).

Here's how long the Below Deck cast really has off for

Why? That's how long a charter season typically lasts for (via Bustle ). With each charter lasting up to three days, the season is jam-packed with new guests looking to enjoy the luxe life of a mega yacht. So while the turnover time might be tight from one charter to the next, it would seem that the crew doesn't ever get any downtime, but not so. According to Men's Health , the cast gets a whopping three days off per season.

So what do they do during those precious days off? Do they travel and actually get to enjoy the locations that they're in, like St. Martin, Tahiti, or Phi Phi Islands? (via The Cinemaholic ). Possibly, but if they are, they aren't doing it together. When they do get some down time during those three days off, the cast stays at a hotel (not the yacht!), and are instructed to not communicate with each other. The reason: if there's any interaction (read: drama), the production crew of Below Deck wants to make sure to capture it all on camera.

And there you have it. While the Below Deck crew might get a slight breather between charters, they only get three actual days off during a typical charter season, which might last up to six weeks straight. It might make you rethink your own vacation days.

'Below Deck' Shows A Piece Of Yacht Charter Season

how long is yachting season below deck

Even though most reality shows air over the course of several months, they usually film over a very small window, much shorter than the weeks it takes to air the footage. And on a show like Below Deck that takes place during a certain time frame, timing can be very important. So how long is a Below Deck charter season? Well, that depends. If you're thinking specifically of the season of Below Deck filmed for TV, the answer can be just a few weeks — the show tapes over a very short period and Eros charters may each last for about three days, according to Yacht Charter World. If you're speaking more generally about full charter seasons for yachts like the one shown on Below Deck , they can last for months at a time . Depending on where you are and where you want to go, the season starts at different times.

For example, Below Deck films in the Caribbean during the winter, in January — that's part of the regional charter season. That means that January is the prime time to travel in the Caribbean on a huge yacht. But even though Below Deck wraps up quickly, the cast could easily jump to a new gig once their TV commitments are complete, because the full Caribbean charter season is four to five months long. That is a long time to be stuck on boats in close working quarters, which is why Below Deck shows the crew taking breaks, having days off, and unwinding between charters. If not, they'd go insane. They're insane enough without having to work for months straight.

And because renting yachts is a worldwide phenomenon, there's no set time or set place where charters are always going on or come to a total stop. Within reason, everywhere that there's water, you can hire a boat to take you during some part of the year.

For the employees, they can choose to work as much or as little of each season as they like, picking their busy time of year depending on where, when, and how long they want to work.

how long is yachting season below deck

The time can also be different depending on where you are on the globe, from hot locations where November-April is the preferable season to travel, to the summer season, described by YCF as covering the Mediterranean and Europe, which picks up in May and lasts through October.

If you want to charter a yacht, you can do it at pretty much any time, you just might not encounter the Below Deck crew. To up your chances of meeting the reality TV cast, then heading down to the Bahamas early in the year is your best shot. And it will be lovely weather for a charter.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Complete Guide: Updates, Cast, Seasons

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

When Below Deck sailed onto Bravo in 2013, it was a hit with fans. It quickly spawned several spin offs. Below Deck Mediterranean debuted in 2013. In February 2020, Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered.

It followed the lives of “yachties” working on a 177-foot sailing yacht called Parsifal III. This luxurious vessel cruised the Ionian Sea. If you are a newbie, or just brushing up on this franchise, this Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide has everything you need.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Cast Members

Captain Glenn Shephard has been at the helm since the series debuted . He is relaxed until pushed to the limit. During Season 2, Captain Glenn assembled a core team that returned for multiple seasons.

During Season 2, Gary King served as chief officer, and Colin MacRae was the chief engineer. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher also joined the crew. Chef Natasha De Bourg , who had a Michelin-star rating, left after the second season. The guests may have loved her food, but Daisy was critical of her skills.

Chef Ileisha Dell took over the galley during Season 4. She prepared an elaborate, and time-consuming, 10-course meal. Chef’s kiss!

Memorable Moments

There have been plenty of fireworks on this franchise. And we have it all in this handy Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide. During Season 1, Chef Adam Glick and chief stew Jenna MacGillivray hit it off. Their PDA-filled “boatmance” turned off their fellow crew members.

There was baby drama after Season 2 when second stew Dani Soares announced that she was pregnant with Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux’s child. Jean-Luc requested a DNA test , which confirmed he was the father of Dani’s daughter.

And Gary participated in too many romances. During Season 2, he romanced both deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore .

Then Daisy and Gary had sex between Seasons 3 and 4. During Season 4, Daisy also hooked up with Gary’s buddy, Colin. Yet Gary continued to flirt with Daisy. Season 4 became awkward in a hurry!

Gary was also involved in another romantic entanglement with stew Mads Herrera . But she locked lips with deckhand Alex Propson , too. Season 4 absolutely delivered!

Add in some nautical accidents, too. Captain Glenn hit the dock twice during Season 2. And during Season 3, a hazardous overnight squall put everyone in danger.

All in all, there was plenty of excitement aboard Parsifal III.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3: next episode, trailer, cast and everything we know

Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is underway and the only thing calm may be the water.

Chef Marcos cooking on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is here, and Captain Glenn Shephard is back to balancing the demands of vacationers with the drama of his crew. And let’s face it, in most instances, the baggage of his crew far outweighs the luggage of any guest.

This season takes the show to the waters surrounding Menorca, Spain. The breathtaking views only serve as momentary interruptions to the hookups, the confrontations, the injuries and the occasional emergencies of the new season. Given the interesting dynamic that already exists between returning crew members like Daisy Kelliher and Gary King, the addition of a new chef, new stews and new deckhands make sailing anything but smooth aboard the Parsifal III.

Here’s what we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

When is the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 episode?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premiered on Monday, February 21. New episodes continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo TV in the US. Episodes are available the next day in the UK on Hayu , which can be included as part of a Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Peacock via Sky TV or NOW TV also offers next-day streaming for Bravo content.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back with the first part of the season 3 reunion airing on Monday, June 27, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. After a tumultuous season full of drama and love triangles, it will be interesting to see what the cast has to say to one another when they face off.

By the way, have you read why fans are grossed out by Ashely's grilled cheese feast ?

What happens on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3?

Viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 will recall that the last time the crew was together, first mate Gary King was involved in a messy love triangle with deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore. While fans of the show won’t have to worry about seeing King in a continuation of that love saga, based on the trailer, King will again find himself entangled in a romance. It appears he entangles with chief stew Daisy Kelliher of all people. While the two appeared to make amends at last year’s reunion after feuding all season 2, no one expected the two to be locking lips.

Additionally, it should be noted that Below Deck Sailing Yacht is done with love triangles, as Bravo TV teases this season fans can expect to see a “twisted love pentagon.” More may not turn out to be merrier in this case.

Fans of the show will also remember that Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew were involved in an accident during season 2 . Season 3 shows how Captain Shephard has been able to bounce back from the incident while also trying to avoid another potentially disastrous event.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 includes returning crew Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. These members are joined by chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, as well as deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 looks like it’s not light on the conflict or surprised hookups.

For those needing more details about that kiss between Gary and Daisy, hear from Daisy herself as she provides a little more insight on their involvement.

How to watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3

New episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 air live on Mondays in the US. With a subscription, episodes can also be streamed live via Fubo TV , Hulu with Live TV , Sling TV and YouTube TV . Additionally, Peacock provides next-day streaming for its subscribers. In order to access episodes, would-be viewers will have to subscribe to Peacock Premium , which offers either a $4.99 ad-supported or $9.99 ad-free plan.

Viewers in the UK can watch episodes the day after they air using Hayu .

Who's leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

It looks like everyone's favorite Below Deck chef is calling it quits. Marcos Spaziani recently took to Twitter to announce that he has no plans on returning for another season.

I want to thank everyone for the big support and great comments. I never thought in my life I would bring so much inspiration to so many ppl and for that I’m very grateful and also blessed! But I can’t go back to the next season. #BelowDeckSailingYacht #belowdecksailing pic.twitter.com/CLTmtLV7yP June 1, 2022

45 Rules the 'Below Deck' Cast Has to Follow

Rule #1: Don't piss off the captain.

Headshot of Charlotte Chilton

Getting paid to sail to exotic locations around the world might sound idyllic, but the crew members on Below Deck have it anything but easy. From grueling shifts to demanding guests, it's no wonder every episode brings drama on the high seas. Think you could cut it? Here, we've rounded up the rules of yachting, plus all the ins and outs of filming the reality show. Spoiler: It sounds like a lot of work.

Everyone has to apply online.

below deck mediterranean season 2

Crew members have to meet an age requirement.

below deck season 3

All applicants must be at least 21 years old to join the show.

Visas must be secured before filming.

below deck season 1

Since yachting is an international industry, there's a lot of logistical details involved. All Below Deck crew members are responsible for securing the appropriate visa to work in that season's filming location.

All licenses and certifications must also be secured.

below deck season 2

Potential cast members must provide the proper paperwork that says they are able to work on the boat. "Each of the crew members has to have an STCW, which is a standard set by the maritime industry for watch-keeping and just being on board—it's basic first aid, firefighting," Captain Lee Rosbach told Reality Blurred .

Cast members must sign a contract.

below deck season 2

In order to be on the show, every crew member has to sign a contract with Bravo , as well as a waiver and release form for appearing on television.

Candidates for public office can't be cast.

below deck season 7

Bravo isn't about to let you launch your political career on their show. In order to join the cast, the contract says that you can't be a current candidate for public office. You also can't run for office until a year after your episodes have aired.

Background checks are mandatory.

below deck season 3

The show vets each cast member thoroughly to make sure they can get the job done safely— and they'll also bring the drama. "It's almost impossible to find a real functioning crew and step on with cameras and say go," co-executive producer Rebecca Taylor told The Triton .

Be prepared to work hard.

below deck season 5

No one on the boat is banking a typical eight-hour work day. As former cast member Kate Chastain revealed , cast members sign on for 16-hour or longer shifts.

The cameras are rolling 24/7.

below deck season 5

The crew members are filmed 24 hours a day, seven days a week . In addition to the camera crew on board, there are hidden cameras around the boat, including in cast member's cabins.

Don't expect any privacy.

below deck mediterranean season 2

The bathroom is the only place a cast member is allowed to have privacy. As such, it's the only place onboard without cameras. But if there's more than one crew member in the bathroom at the same time, the camera crew can follow them in .

Filming continues for more than a month straight.

below deck season 3

Each season is put together from around-the-clock footage of the cast members shot over the course of six weeks .

The schedule is airtight.

below deck season 2

Other reality shows can lengthen their filming schedule to capture extra footage, but Below Deck can't extend beyond six-weeks due to the extra expense of chartering the yacht. It's up to cast members to bring the drama in the allotted time.

A charter season is longer in real life.

below deck season 1

While the schedule on Below Deck seems grueling, it's not as long as a typical charter season. Production typically books the boat for six weeks within a boat's months-long season— so it's basically a charter within a charter.

Guests really do pay for their charter.

below deck season 3

"They spend their real money to be on the show," executive producer Mark Cronin told Bravo TV . But since it may not be the most relaxing trip, guests that are featured on the reality show get a 50% discount on their charter.

The guests pay tips out of pocket, too.

below deck season 2

It's entirely up to the guests what they tip crew members. So if the crew feels slighted by a small tip, that's all real.

The charter guest's airfare is covered.

below deck sailing yacht season 1

The cost is built into production's budget, so charter guests are flown in and out courtesy of Bravo . Talk about a nice perk.

Some rooms on the boat are off-limits.

below deck season 1

There are a number of rooms devoted to production that aren't shown on camera, nor shown to guests. Production typically sets up their control room in one of the boat's staterooms, while the actual master suite is also occupied by crew, rather than guests.

No speaking to the production crew.

below deck season 1

Bravo is pretty strict with maintaining the fourth wall, and Below Deck takes this rule very seriously. While filming, cast members are not allowed to interact or even acknowledge the presence of production.

No shoes on deck.

below deck

Ever noticed the crew members walking around barefoot? There's a reason. "The crew members and guests are generally not permitted to wear shoes on board the yacht so as to prevent damaging the floors," Bravo confirms , "which explains why they don't always look the cleanest after a hard day's work."

Make time for real boating duties.

below deck season 2

Sometimes it feels like the onboard drama supersedes the duties of the crew, but it doesn't. Each crew member has been hired for their actual yachting experience, and is expected to deliver. "These are real yachties. These are people whose careers depend on this," executive producer Courtland Cox told Bravo TV .

Our charters are a little bit shorter, just so we can make the show, [but] everything else is exactly the same. So, it's prorated. We usually get around $2,500, $2,000. Anything less than $1,000 would be depressing, which sounds crazy, doesn't it?"

Below Deck charters typically last two or three days, but Kate says the crew puts in the equivalent of five days of work to jam-pack the experience with a week's worth of fun.

"We're working not just eight-hour shifts, it's like, we're working pretty much around the clock," she notes. "All the days start to blur together. And during the tip meeting, Captain Lee [Rosbach], will say what we got and I'm always like, 'Is that good? I don’t know anymore… $3,000, are we happy with this?'"

To put this in perspective, those tips are on top of a fee for charting the yachts. Kate previously revealed to ET that it costs about $150,000 a week to take over the ships.

The tips come on top of a regular salary, which differs based on job. A chief stew, reportedly , earns between $62,000 and $75,000 per charter season on a Below Deck -sized yacht (most of the vessels on the show are in the 150-foot range). Second and third stews would make about $50,000 a season, a chef between $70,000 and $95,000, while a captain would earn $120,000 or more, a bosun about $52,000 and deckhands between $40,000 to $52,000.

Kate says there is one part of the tip process seen on the show that might just be for TV -- how the tip is delivered. On the show, the crew stands in line to send off the guests, with the primary charter guest handing over an envelope of cash to Captain Lee. Kate notes that the lineup is standard, but the envelope handoff isn’t.

"There's always a lineup, just 'cause it's polite," she says. "Like, even in Downton Abbey , they all line up. So, I think it's a tradition that’s been around for hundreds of years, but sometimes, I think, instead of traveling with so much cash, they wire the money."

"So, it's not as dramatic," she continues. "But I've had charters where we anchored in the British Virgin Islands, the guests had left, we're eating leftover lobster, drinking leftover champagne, counting our stacks of cash. I felt pretty special at that moment."

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

The 15 secret rules the Below Deck cast must follow

Nathan Bees

It’s well documented that the Below Deck cast enjoy a number of perks from working on board. From cruising around some of the most beautiful locations in the world to the impressive salary they make from each charter – all while making a name for themselves on TV – it’s fair to say they benefit greatly from appearing on the show.

But the job isn’t as straightforward as you might think.

There are a number of secretive rules the cast must follow from the first day of filming to the last, ensuring they live up to the expectations of both the charter guests and the producers.

From sacrificing all privacy for several weeks straight to pretending the cameras aren’t there, the cast give a lot in return for the perks they receive.

Yachting Pages lists the 15 rules the Below Deck crew members must adhere to for the duration of their time on the show.

Cameraman with camera

1. You are filmed 24/7

Viewers of Below Deck might be under the impression that the cameras don't actually roll all day, every day. The crew must get some time to themselves, right?

Wrong. To be on the show, each crew member has to accept the fact that the cameras are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There's a camera crew on board, and there are a number of hidden cameras around the yacht  – including in each person’s cabin.

2. You sacrifice (almost) all privacy

The crew members have to accept that privacy doesn’t exist on board - it’s a reality TV show after all. This means there are cameras  everywhere.

The bathroom is the only location where the crew aren’t filmed, so they do get some solitude in there. However, if more than one crew member enters the bathroom at any given time, the camera team are permitted to follow them in.

Interestingly, the crew members don’t even have the ability to turn off their cabin light. Once they are ready to turn in for the night, they have to make it clear to the production team via their in-cabin camera.

3. Filming must be completed in six weeks

Bravo, the US TV network behind Below Deck, pay to use each season's superyacht for six weeks. This means all filming for the show must be completed within this timeframe.

No filming extensions are permitted given the costs that would be accrued.

4. Don’t acknowledge the production team

The fourth wall is important to Bravo, so during filming the crew are not allowed to interact with any member of the production team. This includes not looking directly at the cameras.

The crew are also not permitted to mention Bravo while filming, for a number of legal reasons.

5. All boat duties must be completed

Contrary to how it may seem on screen as the drama unfolds, the crew’s duties are of optimum importance. They have been hired for their expertise and are therefore expected to fulfil each of their duties... with no exceptions. The job comes first.

6. Listen to the captain

The captain knows best. What they say goes.

None of the crew – or indeed the production team – can go against his/her orders. If they decide that high winds prevent sailing/docking, it's based on their expert judgement. Of course, it would be a shame for the charter in question to grind to a halt, but the safety of all concerned is of paramount importance.

7. All medication must be disclosed

As part of the contract each crew member signs prior to the start of their Below Deck employment, they commit to informing production of any medical conditions and prescribed medication.

There was controversy in season five of Below Deck Mediterranean when chief stewardess Hannah Ferrier failed to disclose her prescribed anxiety medication and was fired.

8. Drug tests can be carried out at any time

Contracts state that 'the Company' can request a drug test at any time. Drugs are not permitted on board.

9. Titles must be used in front of guests

All crew members must use the appropriate titles for their superiors in front of charter guests. The captain must be referred to as such during charters, as respect and hierarchy are important in the yachting industry. If the crew treat their superiors with due respect, guests will too.

10. Respect the crew who don’t feature

Whilst it may look like all the yacht’s crew are included in the show, the boat’s first officer and engineer are not generally seen on screen. They stay on board to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations, but don’t typically get involved with any of the charter drama.

11. Line up for every guest arrival and departure

It’s important that each crew member is present, in their ‘whites’ (white uniform), for welcomes and send-offs. They must be present when the tip is handed over at the conclusion of the charter.

Bottle of wine with glasses on yacht deck

12. Sobriety while at sea

One of the golden rules is that crew members must be sober when the yacht is not tied to the dock. This is outlined in maritime law and expected of all individuals.

13. Keep personal drama away from guests

Captain Sandy Yawn, from Below Deck Mediterranean, has explained that any personal drama going on between the crew must be kept (ahem) below deck to ensure it doesn’t impact the experience of the charter guests upstairs.

14. Interviews must be filmed following each charter

The cast interviews provide much-needed insight and context to viewers. Each crew member is invited into the interview room at the end of a charter to pass comment on everything that has happened. Cue the drama.

15. Be honest with producers

Crew members are expected to be honest with producers, particularly regarding past relationships with colleagues.

In season two of Below Deck Mediterranean, Adam Glick and Malia White attempted to conceal their prior relationship, but the truth came out in the end. Almost nothing can be kept secret from producers in the long run, largely thanks to social media and the press.

Malia White and Adam Glick take a selfie

There you have it. These are the 15 rules the Below Deck cast must follow to fulfil their contractual obligations on the show. If they perform their job well and keep on the right side of producers, they give themselves the best opportunity of being invited back for future seasons. If they don't, they are likely to be cut adrift!

EXCLUSIVE: Below Deck season 6 yacht revealed

By Katia Damborsky   4 September 2018

For the sixth season of Bravo’s Below Deck, the 56m/184ft motor yacht 'My Seanna ’ from Delta Marine will be playing host.

Premiering on 2 October, Below Deck is coming back to our screens and the superyacht of the season can be exclusively unveiled as My Seanna  - a motor yacht renowned for her opulent interiors, chic deck areas and dedicated entertainment and leisure facilities.

At 56 metres, the Delta Marine build is the largest yacht ever to feature on the show and the first in Below Deck's six seasons to use her real name as opposed to a pseudonym. This doesn't include the spin-off Below Deck Mediterranean, which follows the lives of superyacht crews during the summer charter season.

Below Deck, on the other hand, is filmed during the winter cruising season. Usually, it is set in the popular cruising grounds of the Caribbean but, this year, in another first for the show, it takes place in Tahiti - an idyllic island in French Polynesia which offers an alternative destination for winter charters.

The ocean is calling... 🌊 and @Captain_Lee_Rosbach is picking up with an all-new season of #BelowDeck Tuesday, October 2 @ 9/8c. Link in bio for a first look! A post shared by BravoTV (@bravotv) on Aug 22, 2018 at 8:24am PDT

Filming of the hit reality TV show began in Tahiti in early February and now a recently released trailer included below provides a glimpse into what on-deck antics viewers can expect from the crew and guests alike.

In this season, fan favourite Captain Lee Rosbach returns to the helm accompanied by Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain. But apart from these two familiar faces, the rest of the crew are new to the show.

Held by Below Deck veteran Ben Robinson for the first four seasons, the chef position will be filled by Adrian Martin, an experienced superyacht chef who has won awards at some of the industry's top culinary contests.

Following on from his predecessor Ben Robinson, Adrian Martin is expected to cause plenty of drama in the galley

Kate from Below Deck on motor yacht My Seanna

Following on from his predecessor, Adrian will serve up delicious dishes as well as plenty of drama when his diva reputation surfaces. Likewise, tension is created when Kate forms an exclusive clique with her first ever male stew - Josiah Carter - leaving fellow stewardess Caroline Bedol feeling left out.

Also anticipated to provide compulsive viewing is the dynamics between bosun Chandler Brooks, who begins to crack under the pressure, and his deckhands Ross Inia and Ashton Pienaar. Female deckhand Rhylee Gerber will be making her debut on the show too.

The show will also provide an insight into what a French Polynesia yacht charter is like. Below Deck Season 11 Episode 6: Release Date & Where to Watch

S eason 11 of “Below Deck,” which delves into the daily life of the crew members who work and live on these opulent super yachts, will premiere in February. After ten seasons, Captain Lee Rosbach left the show. Captain Kerry Titheradge, who fans may recognize from “Below Deck Adventure,” is now in command of the yacht.

The crew of the opulent yacht M/Y St. David is working this season in Grenada, an island nation in the Caribbean. Since its premiere in 2013, the Bravo reality series has spawned several spinoffs, such as “Below Deck Mediterranean,” “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” and “Below Deck Adventure.”

New primary charter guests will be on board in Episode 6. The team will confront more difficulties with the arrival of a fresh group of guests. The crew members will continue to quarrel and wage a cold war despite their best efforts to serve the visitors.

The rivalry between Kyle Stillie and Jared Woodin will be heavily featured in the upcoming episode. It remains to be seen if the crew members will pay a price for their needless drama or if the captain will turn a blind eye.’

The sixth episode of “Below Deck” of Season 11 is called “Love Me Tender.” The heated dispute between Jared and Kyle is expected to be shown in the upcoming episode. There will likely be repercussions from their disagreement, including harsh measures taken by Captain Kerry Titheradge.

Cat, on the other hand, will never really be able to settle comfortably aboard the yacht. There will be “exterior struggles with a difficult docking while Eileen gets under the skin of the entire yacht,” according to the synopsis. In addition, spending a night in the hot tub will have lasting effects.

“Come on Eileen,” the fifth episode of “Below Deck” season 11, highlighted how certain fussy visitors presented a problem for the crew. After learning about Jared and Cat’s personal difficulties, Captain Kerry will respond appropriately. Fraser Olender begged the other crew members to be kind to Cat out of worry for her.

Cat’s encounter frustrates Xandi Olivier, who doesn’t think she’s being sincere about her sentiments. Barbie and Jared were still engaged in a gold war.

Below Deck Season 11: Which Crew Member Will Leave the Boat First?

It's time to ask: who will leave or be fired from the Below Deck season 11 crew first? Here are our predictions.

Jared Woodin in Below Deck Season 11

This Below Deck article contains spoilers.

Captain Lee Rosbach, the Stud of the Sea , once said that he always hopes he can finish a charter season with the same crew he started it with. That’s not always possible on Below Deck . In fact, it almost never happens, whether it’s because a crew member chooses to leave the boat or is fired by the captain.

Yet, five episodes in, season 11 of the flagship series has yet to see any departures despite the crew of the St. David facing some real troubles in the Caribbean. That said, we already know the other shoe is going to drop eventually, with crew members confirming that we will see quite a few firings before the end of the season. So, now that we’ve gotten to know the crew a bit better, let’s talk about who might end up leaving the yacht first in the coming weeks…

Jared Woodin

Most recently, it’s Bosun Jared Woodin who’s had trouble on deck, as problems at home are creeping up. Earlier this season, we learned that Jared was struggling to cope with not being able to see his daughter. Jared’s relationship with his daughter’s mom is tenuous at best, and he explains that he’s only recently started to really connect with his daughter. Which is why it’s imperative he sticks to the schedule of when he’s allowed to call her. So when he runs out of data after a charter and misses a call, he gets very upset, which leads to heavy drinking on a crew night out and showing up very hungover for the following workday.

Ad – content continues below

Things only got worse for Jared in episode five. Beside having a few awkward moments with Captain Kerry, who noticed Jared was distracted with his personal problems, he also had a weird phone argument with a towel purveyor, was rejected by fellow crewmate Barbie Pascual, and suffered an insult from one of the new charter guests, who said to his face: “You’re lucky you’re good looking because you have nothing else going for you.” The latter seemed to especially affect Jared, who already feels he isn’t enough. His feelings of inadequacy are only amplified when Chief Stew Fraser Olender asks whether Lead Deckhand Ben Willoughby can join a sport-y excursion because he’s very energetic, something Jared takes exception to because he feels Fraser should have considered the bosun of the boat first.

Previews for episode 6 show Jared continuing to struggle with his feelings about his job and his problems outside of work. Add the fact that he’s not always been on top of it as the ship’s bosun, making some very silly mistakes early in the season, and you can see how Jared might have one foot off the boat. And we really couldn’t blame him if he decided to prioritize his child!

Barbie Pascual

Barbie’s been a problem since the very beginning, hasn’t she? A self-proclaimed spoiled brat and daddy’s girl who is only apparently working as a yachty for fancy purse money, Barbie has clashed with Fraser and fellow stew Cat Baugh on multiple occasions, at one point straight up ignoring Fraser during a charter after he didn’t let her put orange juice in her “special” margarita for the guests. She’s spoken condescendingly to the less experienced and more sensitive Cat, and most recently became offended when Fraser made Xandi Olivier second stew, a role Barbie felt she deserved as one of the most experienced stews on the team. And it’s true: Barbie knows her stuff int he interior and is very good with guests but her abrasive attitude holds her back. She apparently doesn’t even need this job to pay her rent!

Still, while last week we would’ve said Barbie was definitely going to be the first to go , things took an unexpected turn in episode 5 . After a fight at a bar, Barbie made peace with Fraser, apologizing for being so disrespectful during the first few charters. She’s shown definite improvement since, but the fact that she’s now stung by Xandi’s promotion might mean we’ll be back to square one by next week.

Cat is the greenest of the stews and Fraser’s team, the one who needs the most nurturing and guidance. To his credit, Fraser has made a real effort to support Cat because he feels she has potential, but the other stews seem to be running out of patience. Xandi, for example, expresses to Fraser that Cat doesn’t seem to be learning as quickly as she needs to to keep up with the rest of the team. And that’s saying nothing of Barbie’s feelings about Cat.

“I don’t think she should have ever signed up for this. This is not for her,” Barbie said of Cat in an interview with US Weekly . “I think yachting might [still] be for her. Small yachts and maybe even potentially mega yachts. One day she could climb the ladder there, but this environment was not for her. That’s OK. This is a lot.”

In episode 5, Fraser met with Captain Kerry to update him on Cat, who is often so stressed and demoralized by the job that she breaks into tears. The Captain is sympathetic, as Cat is the least experienced on the team and is meant to be learning on the job, but there could be trouble on the horizon if Cat is unable to pick things up soon.

As Captain Kerry stepped on to St. David for the first time, he relied on returning crew members Fraser and Ben to help the new staff find their way around the massive vessel. "On deck, Ben’s firsthand experience with the ship causes a rift with his Bosun, Jared. Meanwhile, Chef Anthony, a Miami restaurateur from France, hopes to breathe new life into the galley. But when a messy kitchen catches Capt. Kerry’s eye during the first charter, the galley reaches a boiling point. Between budding boatmances, explosive nights out and department drama, it’s not all smooth sailing in Grenada."

Is another Below Deck spin-off in the works? Here’s why fans think so

Fraser Olender on Below Deck Season 10

Is another Below Deck spin-off in the works? That’s a question on Below Deck fans minds as the show was spotted filming in a new location.

There are currently four Below Deck shows with Season 11 of the OG show playing out on Bravo right now.

Below Deck Adventure was a one-and-done, making it the only spin-off that didn’t have a lasting impact.

However, a recent Reddit thread has the rumor mill buzzing another spin-off could be coming soon.

Let’s take a look at why Below Deck fans think a new show could be coming to Bravo.

Is another Below Deck spin-off in the works?

“Walking along Anse Source D’Argent yesterday and came across the crew filming around a lunch table for an ‘unnamed boat show’ to air in the future. The cameramen had hats with Below Deck written on the back. I don’t know which franchise is currently filming here, but I thought it was interesting to see!” wrote a Reddit user.

Below Deck Reddit

This got the rumor mill buzzing of course that a new spin-off could be in the works. That’s highly unlikely, though, given that Below Deck Adventure wasn’t renewed and Below Deck was just revamped with Captain Kerry Titheradge.

Bravo has certainly backed Below Deck, but with four shows right now, that seems like plenty for the network at the moment.

Could the OG Below Deck be filming Season 12?

Aside from Below Deck fans thinking a new show was filming, there were plenty of theories suggesting that Season 12 of the OG show was filming in Anse Source D’Argent.

One Reddit user reminded Below Deck fans that this is the normal time frame for the OG show to film, but a different user brought up how Fraser Olender was currently skiing. That could simply mean Fraser won’t return, or it’s not Below Deck filming.

Below Deck OG filming

Another brought up the schedule for the Below Deck Med, declaring it wouldn’t be for that spin-off since Season 9 has already been filmed. The user also mentioned this was the time for Below Deck to film.

Below Deck Med Reddit

Below Deck fans will have to wait and see what this new filming spotting means. It’s a safe bet, though, that it has to do with the OG show and not a new spin-off.

In other Below Deck news, as Monsters and Critics previously reported, Barbie Pascual hints at more trouble brewing with Fraser on Season 11.

There is also the question of whether Jared Woodin will leave the show due to his family issues and you can read all about that here.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo. Seasons 1-11 are streaming on Peacock.

‘Below Deck’ Filming For A New Spin-Off?

Below Deck Down Under Captain Jason Chambers - Peacock YouTube

Below Deck f ans are talking about the possibility of a new spin-off for the Bravo show. It comes as spoilers arrived by someone who saw filming going on. However, that seems a bit odd because Below Deck Adventure wasn’t a long-term show. In fact, the execs seem keen to keep it to the existing editions.

Below Deck , Meditteranean , OG Show, And Down Under

If there is a new show, it’s not likely that it will be one with Captain Lee Rosbach in it. After all, he’s reportedly moving across to a show about true crime on the open waters. While the Deadly Waters show is connected to Bravo, would they film it wearing hats forBravo’s Below Deck ? According to new speculation about filming in La Digue, Seychelles, that is an important piece of evidence.

If I had to rank the Below Decks 🛥️: 1. Sailing Yacht 2. Down Under 3. Med (used to be my fav but Sandy sucks) 4. Below Deck OG 5. Adventure Yours?! #BelowDeck pic.twitter.com/W22V0EZLwb — Daily Bravo 💌 (@dailybravomail) July 20, 2023

A New Spin-Off? Or, Another Season of OG ?

The speculation arrived on Reddit this week when a Bravo fan spotted people filming in the Seychelles. The OP wrote:

Currently filming in La Digue, Seychelles… Walking along Anse Source D’Argent yesterday and came across the crew filming around a lunch table for an “unnamed boat show” to air in the future. The cameramen had hats with Below Deck written on the back. I don’t know which franchise is currently filming here, but I thought it was interesting to see!

New Bravo Below Deck Spin-off Discussion - Reddit

Below Deck fans seemed a bit confused, because the camera crews don’t usually wear hats with the show’s name on it. So, some people thought it unlikely that it was a new spin-off. However, it’s interesting to see that a lot of people thought it might be preliminary work for Down Under . Nonetheless, the OP noted in the comments:

After I saw the table set up we bicycled past a group of women heading that way that were guests on the boat. Lots of cameras following them around and lots happening around the lunch set up. Seemed like the actual show, not just preliminary work.

Some Bravo fans in the comments think that the people filming might be working on the  Below Deck OG show.

  • This is the time frame that BDOG usually films. So it may be OG.
  • This is the normal time of the year they film the OG Below Deck.

More Evidence Arrives

Another member of the discussion, u/munkee_biznis also checked out the possible Below Deck spin-off in the Seychelles, and they snapped a photo of some large yachts which you can see below. The poster also said:

A production team is staying at my hotel. I had heard from a bartender that they were from some show called “Below Deck” which he hadn’t heard of.

What are your thoughts about some fans thinking Below Deck might be filming for a new spin-off? Do you agree that it seems unlikely? Could it rather be that the filming happens for the OG show? Share your opinion in the comments below, and return for all your Bravo news.

Below deck: 10 bosuns who will never return to the franchise (is my opinion the same as yours).

Many Bosuns have left the Below Deck franchise permanently. While some have chosen to pursue different career paths, others are too incompetent.

  • Some former Bosuns like Chandler Brooks and Conrad Empson faced challenges and won't return to the franchise.
  • Bosun Ruan Irving got fired for forging documents, ensuring he will never return to Below Deck.
  • Luke Jones was fired from Below Deck Down Under for assault and will never return.

Below Deck has featured dozens of Bosuns since 2013, including a few who will never return to the series . The franchise relies on capable crew members who can handle the responsibilities of a luxury yacht. However, some roles are often more important than others. One of the most important parts of Below Deck is the Chief Stew . These crew members are often responsible for handling the team of junior Stews and making every guest feel comfortable. Their duties are to ensure the charter guests get everything they ask for.

Over the last 11 years, only a few Chief Stews have stood out the most. That includes Kate Chastain, who debuted on Below Deck season 2 and continued to be part of the series until season 7. Bosuns are also incredibly valuable to any super yacht. However, some of the iconic Below Deck Bosuns may never return to the franchise again.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

10 aleks taldykin, below deck season 1.

Aleks Taldykin, who served as a Bosun in Below Deck season 1 , was a great crew member. Unfortunately, he never returned to the show for several reasons. One of the main reasons behind his departure was his seniority. He was more of a Captain , and it wouldn’t have made sense for him to serve as a Bosun again.

9 Chandler Brooks

Below deck season 6.

Chandler Brooks was on Below Deck season 6 , where he worked with Captain Lee Rosbach and handled the deckhand team that included Ross Inia, Ashton Pienaar, Rhylee Gerber, and Tyler Rowland. Unfortunately, he was terrible at leading either of the Deckhands and couldn’t help the crew. Captain Lee finally had enough of Chandler’s incompetence in episode 9 and fired him. There’s no chance the producers will allow him to be part of Below Deck again. The former Bosun must continue his yachting journey away from the small screen.

8 Conrad Empson

Below deck med season 3.

Conrad Empson appeared on Below Deck Med season 3. He was a great Bosun but created unnecessary drama, especially his relationship issues with Chief Stew Hannah. The whole situation became so bad that he skipped his Prague trip. The former Bosun will now never return to the show because he decided to leave the yachting industry for good. He also found a new partner and launched a new business.

7 Kelley Johnson

Below deck seasons 2 & 4.

Kelley Johnson was on Below Deck seasons 2 and 4. He was a good addition to the show and fulfilled his duties by handling his teams well. Unfortunately, Kelley will likely never return to Below Deck due to his personal life and new career. According to the latest reports, the former Bosun is now interested in photography and videography . He is also married and has other personal obligations. Besides, Kelley is a Captain and will probably never opt for the role of a Bosun again.

Below Deck: Barbie's Love Triangle (Will She Choose Jared Or Kyle?)

6 paget berry, below deck sailing yacht season 1.

Paget Berry has confirmed that he’d never rejoin Below Deck . The Below Deck Sailing Yacht ’s Bosun, or Chief Officer, initially enjoyed being on the show. However, he has since moved on and no longer considers it worthy of his time. A few months ago, a fan asked Paget if he’d ever return to Below Deck again and got a straightforward answer. Paget doesn’t want to be involved in the reality TV aspect of the show.

The former Bosun said, “it’s not my thing anymore,” hinting that the show’s editing has turned him away from Bravo’s yachting-centered series.

5 Eddie Lucas

Below deck seasons 1-3, 8-9.

Eddie Lucas will likely never return to Below Deck after he called out the network on social media. He was part of numerous Below Deck seasons; however, he didn’t feel like Bravo was paying him enough and complained about it online. Eddie tried to expose the network and act like a solo warrior. He failed to realize that he was simply not above the show. The former Bosun will never return to Below Deck because Bravo will never hire him back.

4 Raygan Tyler

Below deck med season 7.

Raygan Tyler will never return to the series again because of his terrible run in Below Deck Med season 7. She was part of only five episodes in 2022 before Captain Sandy let him go. Her dismissal was due to her inability to perform her job, almost causing the yacht to sink. Raygan made many mistakes in the first four episodes. However, the final straw happened when she was helping Captain Sandy dock the boat and incorrectly reported three meters when the distance was less than half a meter . Sandy had to immediately let her go.

3 Ashton Pienaar

Below deck 6-7.

Ashton Pienaar from Below Deck seasons 6 and 7 wasn’t a terrible Bosun, but he was rude and had a problematic attitude towards other women on the yacht. Ashton was accused of being sexist for lashing out at Chief Stew Kate and mistreating Deckhand Rhylee. He lacked the basic decency to treat all crew members with respect. While Ashton gained some sympathy after an onboard accident, no one seems to want him back on Below Deck again.

Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes

2 ruan irving, below deck med season 8.

Ruan Irving will also never return to the Below Deck franchise. However, the reason for his exit is completely different from everyone else's. Unlike most Bosuns on this list, Ruan is the only one Captain Sandy fired for forging documents. The former Bosun had brought fake documents to get himself a role on the show. Regardless of whether he had the skills to do the job, it was still too risky for Captain Sandy to let him stay on board. Therefore, she fired him in episode 1, shortening his Below Deck appearance. Producers will likely never cast Ruan again.

1 Luke Jones

Below deck down under season 2.

When Below Deck Down Under returned in 2023, it stood out for its several firings. One exit was from former Bosun Luke Jones, who crossed the line when he got naked and forced himself into bed with Stew Margot Sisson. Luke’s sexual misconduct was inappropriate and simply unacceptable. Captain Jason Chambers immediately fired him and removed him from the boat. Luke has no chance of returning to the Below Deck franchise again.

Below Deck airs Monday at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.
