Fiberglass patches on this 1991 Hunter Vision 32 require painting, and the topsides need scrubbing/cleaning, pending marina water access. Cabin windows are taped to prevent leaks--one window lacks a proper seal. Despite these, the interior is clean and well-kept. The engine's shaft seal leaks significantly, needing replacement. The hull bottom will require spraying upon hauling out. Wind vane and navigation lights are pending installation, subject to sale timing. 1992 Hunter Vision 32 Simplified sailing and comfort were the primary goals in designing the fun to sail Vision 32. Simplified sailing is personified by the free standing rig, free of shrouds, backstays and spreaders. 1989 Hunter Vision 32 Hunter's innovative design for the first-time cruiser or most experienced sailor that is looking for a for a boat that fun and easy to sail. The Hunter Vision 32 may be aimed at the person buying their first cruising boat but is a pleasure to sail for the most experienced sailor. Hunter has put this innovative design together with comfort and simplicity receiving equal attention. Let's start with the sail plan. If you put conventional standards aside, the short ended, high freeboard, large house Vision is a good-looking boat. It shows careful attention to styling. The house contours are very pleasing and add a very rakish look. There's nothing new in the rig. With fully battened main and small, non-overlapping jib, sail handling has been reduced to the minimum complexity. It's a lazy man's boat. SA/D ratio is 17.9. With a D/L ratio of 259, the Vision 32 is a moderate-displacement design. The midsection shows moderate BWL and an arc-like shape with moderately firm bilges. The stern is very broad with a big swim step carved into the transom. The keel is a fin-bulb-wing combination that gives 4-foot, 3-inch draft. Obviously this hull has been optimized to provide interior volume, but the designers haven't ignored performance. The interior borrows from the European competition, with a transverse double berth and a small galley counter with icebox. When you are below you would never believe you are on a 32 ft. boat. With a settee that will seat 10, a queen size bed aft, an large head with shower and a very large v-birth forward.

This 1990 Hunter Vision 32 features a free standing mast and no rigging. The interior features a large U-shaped main salon with wrap around windshield for a panoramic view and well lighted open feel. The roomy salon provides the feel of a much larger boat and easily seats up to 6 adults for dinner. It sleeps 6 with a large aft cabin and the salon converts into a large bed by lowering the table.

The boat features a double stainless steel sink, stove/oven combo, island-design ice chest, a Flagship Mariner air conditioner and heater, AM/FM/USB sound system, powered main halyard winch. It also features a large, deep t-shaped cockpit with walk through transom and swim deck.

Equipment: Boat Specifications: 5 gallon hot water tank, 45 gallon fresh water tank, 22 gallon fuel tank, displacement 11,400 lbs., ballast 4,500 lbs., draft 43.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Classic hull speed formula:

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
• D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
• LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
• LOA: Length overall in feet
• Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

Capsize Screening Formula

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.
