THIS NEW 130-FOOT LUXURY CATAMARAN COMES WITH AN EPIC FOLD-OUT BEACH CLUB.
The multihull power cat has the size and style of a superyacht.
ISA Yachts has decided to color outside the superyacht lines. The Italian outfit, which is helmed by the Palumbo Group, just unveiled its first catamaran in a bid to create a more comprehensive fleet.
The 130-foot power cat, which goes by the name of Zeffiro, pairs a generous interior with an innovative design that gives even more benefits than a traditional monohull, according to ISA.
The standout feature of Zeffiro is the 42.6-foot beam which essentially gives the cat the volume of a much larger vessel. The sizable interior has been outfitted by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design and is replete with contemporary furnishings as well as a huge amount of natural light.
At the heart of Zeffiro is a full-beam owner’s suite that occupies the entire forward area on the main deck. It’s equipped with a king-size bed, private lounge, walk-in wardrobe and desk. The suite flows to the cockpit, which itself spans more than 1,000 square feet and comes complete with a Jacuzzi.
To the aft of the main deck, the spacious living area is spread across roughly 2,150 square feet and seamlessly blends the indoors with the out. The lower deck, meanwhile, comprises four VIP cabins that ISA says offer more privacy and space than the cabins found on standard superyachts. The crew quarters are also located on this deck, while the captain’s cabin sits on the upper deck.
Outside, meanwhile, there’s plenty of space for relaxation. The flybridge is fitted with a hard-top bimini and bar area that’s perfect for sundowners. There’s also a beach club with fold-out side wings and a gym, along with an aft lounge that opens up to more seating for the outdoor lovers. Naturally, Zeffiro packs a full arsenal of toys and tenders that are stored in the bow of the lower deck.
As for performance, Zeffiro’s dual hull ensures smooth and safe cruising with no need for stabilizers while her shallow draft allows for cruising at almost any depth. The vessel also offers a range of 3,700 nautical miles, which means virtually no destination is off-limits.
“ Stemming from the brilliant work of the seasoned French team from Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, we strongly believe ISA Zeffiro can really make a statement to the yachting arena ,” CEO Giuseppe Palumbo said in a statement. “ The decision to diversify our ISA Yachts brand offering came from a careful analysis aimed at positioning ourselves at the high-end of the power catamaran market .”
Palumbo, who currently oversees five world-renowned brands, acquired ISA Yachts in 2016. The Ancona shipyard has since garnered a rep for its quality superyachts–but if this power cat is any indication, it could be the start of a whole new niche.

ISA ZEFFIRO 130 CATAMARAN A NEW VOYAGE ABOUT TO BEGIN
ISA Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, is proud to announce the launch of ZEFFIRO, a new 130-foot power catamaran with incredible volumes and innovative design.
“Stemming from the brilliant work of the seasoned French team from Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, we strongly believe ISA ZEFFIRO 130 can really make a statement to the yachting arena. The decision to diversify our ISA Yachts brand offering came from a careful analysis aimed at positioning ourselves at the high-end of the power catamaran market” comments Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Superyachts.
The innovative design of ISA ZEFFIRO 130 enhances the feeling of luxury and spaciousness, presenting a greater number of benefits over the traditional monohulls without compromising on style, for the best on-the-water experience.
The 42.6 ft (13.10m) beam is a real standout on this yacht, effectively providing the interior volume of a much bigger size power yacht.
On the main deck, the layout sees the full-beam owner’s suite occupying the entire forward area. Complete with king-size bed, private lounge, oversized walk-in closet and bow-facing desk, its 180° panoramic glazing offers a seamless transition to the over 100sqm cockpit fitted with a Jacuzzi.
Aft of the owner’s area, the living zone spreads on 200sqm with skilfully blurred boundaries between indoor and outdoor. Through the large openings typical of the multihulls natural light accentuates the refined interior by Isabelle Racoupeau, revealing the delicate harmony of the furniture contemporary lines and the elegant contrast of the upholstery colours.
The lower deck accommodates the crew quarters and 4 VIP double cabins, characterised by higher headroom and greater space and privacy than on an equivalent one-hull superyacht.
As for the captain, his spacious cabin is conveniently located on the upper deck between the fore helm and the aft lounge which opens up to another full-beam cockpit for more seating to the outdoor lovers.
On the 80sqm flybridge, guests can choose between another vast sunbathing zone and the shade cast by the hard-top bimini on the fore bar area.
As well as housing the guest and the crew cabins, the lower deck provides storage for water-toys and tender at the bow, and 2 large engine rooms in the aft area adjacent to the beach club that, when its side-wings fold out, turns into an immense privileged space for guests to bask in the sun.
With a range of 3,700 nautical miles, ISA ZEFFIRO 130 offers smooth and safe cruising even in unpredictable weather, thanks to the natural stability of its two hulls with no need for stabilizers.
In addition, its very shallow draft provides virtually unlimited access to any destination including remote coves for unforgettable voyages with family and friends.

Superyachts can’t compare to the size and style of a multihull power cat.
As ISA Yachts paints outside the lines of superyachts, it is distinguishing itself from its competitors. To expand its fleet, the Italian outfit recently unveiled its first catamaran under the Palumbo Group.
Power cat Zeffiro, which measures 130 feet, combines generous interior space with a design that provides significant advantages over traditional monohulls, according to ISA.
The boat’s 42.6-foot beam creates a volume comparable to a larger vessel, which makes Zeffiro stand out from the rest. There is a lot of natural light in the large interior designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.
An entire forward area of the main deck of Zeffiro is dedicated to the owner’s suite. In addition to its king-size bed, the bedroom includes a private lounge, walk-in wardrobe, desk, and walk-in closet. With its 1,000-square-foot cockpit and Jacuzzi, the suite leads into the cockpit.
There are approximately 2,150 square feet of living space aft of the main deck, which seamlessly integrates the indoors with the outdoors. According to ISA, the lower deck of the yacht includes four VIP cabins that offer more privacy and space than standard superyacht cabins. On this deck are also the crew quarters, while on the upper deck is the captain’s cabin.
The outdoor area is a great place to relax. This boat is equipped with a hardtop bimini and a bar area on the flybridge, which is ideal for sundowners. An aft lounge opens up to more seating for outdoor lovers, as well as a beach club with fold-out side wings and a gym. Besides toys and tenders, Zeffiro carries a full arsenal on the lower deck at the bow.
With her dual hull and shallow draft, Zeffiro is a great boat for cruising at almost any depth without stabilizers. There are virtually no destinations that are not reachable due to the vessel’s 3,700 nautical mile range.
We believe that ISA Zeffiro will be able to make a huge impact on the yachting industry thanks to the excellent work of the French team from Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, said CEO Giuseppe Palumbo. In order to position ourselves at the high end of the power catamaran market, ISA Yachts decided to diversify its brand offering.
He acquired ISA Yachts in 2016, one of five world-renowned brands he oversees. This power cat could mark the start of a new niche for the Ancona shipyard, already known for its quality superyachts.

7,000-year-old canoes from Italy are the oldest ever found in the Mediterranean
The wooden vessels were likely used by Neolithic people for fishing and transport.
Five canoes found at the bottom of a lake in Italy were used more than 7,000 years ago for fishing and transport by people living in a Neolithic village near what is now Rome.
Archaeologists discovered the boats at La Marmotta, a prehistoric coastal settlement that is now underwater, while conducting ongoing excavations, according to a study published Wednesday (March 20) in the journal PLOS One .
The large dugout canoes — which were constructed of alder, oak, poplar and European beech — were built between 5700 and 5100 B.C., radiocarbon dating revealed.
The boats are the oldest ever found in the Mediterranean, according to a statement.
"One of the smallest [boats] was probably used for fishing," study co-author Mario Mineo , an archaeologist and director coordinator at the Museum of Civilization in Rome, told Live Science in an email. "The two largest measured almost 11 meters long by 1.2 m wide [36 feet by 4 feet] and it is probable that — thanks also to the easy access to the Tyrrhenian coast via the Arrone river — they could have been used for further trade."
The boat builders also used "advanced construction techniques" to craft the vessels. For example, they incorporated transverse reinforcements, which would have increased the durability of the canoes' hulls, according to the statement.

"The construction techniques and materials used indicate a sophisticated understanding of boat-building and navigation," senior study author Niccolò Mazzucco , a senior researcher in the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge at the University of Pisa in Italy, told Live Science in an email. "[This] is significant because it showcases the ingenuity and skill of ancient peoples in utilizing natural resources to create efficient means of transportation."
For example, the researchers think the vessels may have been equipped with "sails or outriggers," or parallel support floats, Mazzucco said. This can be evidenced by three T-shaped wooden objects found at the site near the canoes. Each of these items contained various holes, which were likely used to "fasten ropes tied to sails or other nautical elements," according to the statement.
"Such advancements suggest a deeper comprehension of maritime technology and navigation, with vessels equipped for long-distance voyages," Mazzucco added. "However, our current understanding falls short of precisely identifying the types of boats used, their construction methods and how components like canoes and T-shaped wooden objects were mounted together — whether through ropes, wooden pegs or other means."
The builders' ability to include multiple types of wood in their creations is also noteworthy, as it shows that they knew which "trees could be used to make the dugouts," Mazzucco said. "In contrast, at other [Neolithic] sites where more than one canoe has been found, the same [tree] species was usually used for all of them."

In addition to the boats, archaeologists found numerous artifacts scattered around the site, including flint and obsidian tools, pottery vessels, figurines and ornaments, according to the study.
In 2022, the researchers also found 52 wooden sickles at the site that were used for harvesting cereal grains.
"These artifacts offer further insights into the daily lives, symbolic and technological capabilities of the ancient inhabitants," Mazzucco said. "No other site in the Mediterranean presents such [an] amount of harvesting tools."
Editor's Note: This story was corrected at 11 a.m. EDT on March 22 to note that the canoes were found in a lake and not the Mediterranean Sea.

For Sunreef Yachts, size matters. Over the past few years, the Polish shipyard has steadily been bolstering its fleet with large and luxurious catamarans. The latest one spans a lofty 100 feet.
Nicknamed the “mega-cat,” the Sunreef 100 was designed in-house and joins the yard’s ever-expanding line of sailing multihulls that runs the gamut from a nimble 50-footer all the way up to a spacious 80-footer . Sunreef says its newest craft is made for cruising worldwide in total luxury, and judging by its specs, it’ll have plenty of room to accommodate the high life.

The spacious interior is fully customizable, of course. Sunreef Yachts
The vessel’s 42-foot beam creates an impressive living space that measures just shy of 4,700 square feet. The customizable interior features luxe accommodation for 12 guests and owners can opt to incorporate a spa area, office, bar and/or fitness room.
Outside, the vessel sports a large flybridge and bow terrace for alfresco wining and dining. It’s also equipped with a hydraulic platform aft that doubles as a beach club when lowered for seaside entertaining. Elsewhere, there is a garage that can store a pair of Jetskis.
The debut of the Sunreef 100 comes shortly after the yard delivered the ultra-modern 80-foot Great White to tennis star Rafael Nadal and signals its commitment toward this new type of multihull.
Sunreef isn’t the only yacht builder taking things bigger, either. Catamarans have slowly been getting larger and more luxurious . For proof, look no further than recent launches such as Lagoon’s Sixty 7 , Horizon’s PC74 and the Aquila 70 .
It looks like there’ll be plenty more mega-cats prowling the seas.
