What’s  next.

Each week you’ll receive an email about Long Beach Yacht Club and choose an experience that guides your immersion into our way of life. You can always return to this page at any time for information regarding your new membership!

We are known for our signature sailing regatta - Congressional Cup - yet we were founded in order to host a powerboat race.

The repeated use of a red star in our burgee is a wink to LBYC member Eddie Fink, who won the Star Class World title in 1932.

Star Boats were an Olympic class sailboat, and the win was key to Long Beach's fleet to be sponsors in the 1932 elimination rounds for the Olympics. (Gilbert Gray of New Orleans ended up representing Long Beach).

The palm trees in the club's parking lot were all planted over one weekend by LBYC volunteers. The trees arrived from a farm in Palm Springs in two pickup trucks, and individual members sponsored the tree purchase - $25 apiece!

The lava rocks in the general manager’s office, the library, and the exterior round-about all came over on one vessel for the club's tiki architecture.

The LBYC pool is 25 yards and heated year-round.

Our race committee boat is named after our first commodore: Loynes.

The clubhouse was designed by Montierth and Stickland - well known mid century modern trailblazers. The building blends South Sea Island treatments with contemporary design glass walls.

Montierth and Stickland also designed the marine bazaar and the marina restrooms.

Our first clubhouse was donated to the Sea Scouts - a long-term relationship between the Scouts and the club that has continued.

The Best Restaurants In Long Beach

The Best Restaurants In Long Beach image

Long Beach—Birthplace of Snoop Dogg and Sublime, home to one of the busiest ports in the United States, and parking spot for a giant ship that doesn’t go anywhere. While some might be tempted to think of the area as an outer appendage of Los Angeles, Long Beach (and Snoop Dogg) would very much beg to differ—this expansive metropolis has its own distinct culture and a robust restaurant scene to match.

Here you can truly find it all—from a Cambodian noodle house to a classic diner and pie joint, to a bakery known for sourdough masa and a Peruvian food destination with its own drive-thru window. Choosing where to eat in the LBC can get a bit overwhelming, so we’ve narrowed things down for you. These are the 25 best restaurants in Long Beach.

The Win-Dow Long Beach image

The Win-Dow

A walk-up burger stand on 2nd Street, The Win-Dow serves a very good smashburger, and arguably an even better fried chicken sandwich. This mini-chain (with two other locations in Venice and Silver Lake) knows how to make a quality not-too-smashed beef patty with edges that stay crisp under a blanket of gooey American cheese, caramelized onions, and bright pink house sauce. Their short menu also features extra-crispy shoestring fries, milkshakes, a great kale salad, and a juicy, subtly crunchy fried chicken sandwich with jalapeno aioli and sweet cilantro slaw that you need to prioritize.

Marlena image

Mediterranean

Marlena is a rare hybrid for Long Beach—a great all-day cafe and a big night-out dinner spot in one. This Mediterranean restaurant in Naples has an open-air dining room where you can order a morning cappuccino, but after 5pm flips into a wine-fueled clubhouse for locals. It’s usually packed with birthday groups, well-dressed people who likely pay dues at the local yacht club, and others who can’t control the volume of their voice. The well-rounded menu has a solid mix of tapas, pastas, and steaks, but it’s the wood-fired pizzas that stand out. The chef used to bake at Bestia and Gjusta , so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the pies at Marlena arrive nicely blistered and crispy.

Phnom Penh Noodle Shack image

Phnom Penh Noodle Shack

Phnom Penh is one of the best Cambodian restaurants in Long Beach, and one of our favorite spots in the whole city. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 7am-3pm, this tiny place specializes mostly in breakfast dishes like rice porridge and meat pies, but it’s their house special noodle soup with pork bone broth that we’ll brave even the foggiest of mornings to eat. You can choose between rice or egg noodles, but we prefer doing a mix of both. It’s not really a place that can accommodate groups, so most people just stop in with a friend for a midday meal.

Jongewaard’s Bake N Broil image

Jongewaard's Bake N Broil

The Bake N Broil is a Long Beach institution. They’ve been open in Bixby Knolls since 1965, serving diner food and incredible pies and cakes. Although there will probably be a wait when you arrive, if you’re cool with sitting at the counter (which you should be), just grab a seat when one opens up. The menu is huge, but you the smart ones go straight for the chicken pot pie. It comes with your choice of soup or salad, and though it might seem counterintuitive to get soup with a chicken pot pie for lunch, definitely get the French onion. Now isn’t the time to start holding back. But save room for dessert. Everything from the red velvet cake to the 10+ types of pie is worth trying.

A&J Seafood Shack image

A&J Seafood Shack

A&J is a tiny to-go window in a small strip mall parking lot about a mile away from Phnom Penh Noodle Shack, which happens to be run by the same family. As much as we like that spot for noodle soup, this place is our go-to for all things Cambodian seafood: salt & pepper shrimp, grilled oysters, and fresh spring rolls. You’ll technically be sitting outside on the wraparound patio facing a huge intersection, but you'll feel like you're steps from the sea. Our top pick is the crispy salmon, tender fried chunks that come with mango salsa and a sweet tamarind sauce.

Selva image

South American

Selva is an excellent, slightly upscale Colombian restaurant near the Traffic Circle that’s ideal for group meals where you want to share as many small plates as possible. We love their family-style dishes like the market fish, which varies each day but always comes seared and crispy and served with a bright onion-tomato sofrito. It's the appetizers and sides, however, that should be covering your whole table, including the stewed pork frijoles with fluffy white rice, ceviche with creamy ají amarillo, fried plantains tossed in smoked salt, and one of the crispiest pieces of pork belly we’ve ever tasted paired with warm chewy arepas. Selva is a good spot for a drink, too—there's a long bar at the front of the restaurant serving mostly rum- and tequila-based cocktails, and at brunch , mimosas made with tropical fruit juices.

Sophy’s image

Sophy's

Long Beach's Cambodia Town is loaded with incredible restaurants, but if you’re looking for the best entry point, make Sophy’s your first stop. The family-run restaurant has been in the neighborhood for 20+ years and does Cambodian staples well. There are always at least a few groups seated in the big leather booths sharing noodles and scooping hot and sour soup from a cauldron. It’s perfect for a casual weeknight lunch, but on weekends, expect to wait up to an hour for a table. Get the red curry, the beef lok lak, and their beef jerky, guaranteed to ruin all other beef jerky for you.

Little Coyote image

Little Coyote

Little Coyote is our go-to pizza spot in Long Beach and one of the best pizzerias in LA . They've got two locations in Long Beach, but we prefer the one on the Eastside for its casual dining room and massive outdoor patio set-up. Their pies are an ode to the classic New York-style slice, but with a more flavorful crust and a variety of topping combos. Folding these thin-crust pies topped with spicy, house-made pepperoni here brings us back to post-game pizza parties with our childhood soccer team. But the pizza we'd gladly travel across town for is the light and airy white pie, topped with the perfect balance of spinach, ricotta, garlic, mozzarella, Calabrian chili, and creamy white sauce.

Heritage image

Heritage is a relatively casual restaurant inside a converted house that offers a six-course tasting menu for $110. We haven't encountered any wait for a table for two here, though you probably should book ahead if you plan on coming with a group. The rotating menu typically involves things like aged duck, perfectly charred octopus, and a creamy, fruit-topped pavlova. Regardless, you’ll spend more time here clinking glasses with friends than waiting for a server to finish over-explaining the next course (like you might at some other tasting menu spots in LA). If you're looking for a laid-back, special occasion restaurant that isn’t as overwhelming as the chain restaurants down along the waterfront, Heritage is a great call for dinner.

Speak Cheezy image

Speak Cheezy

Speak Cheezy is our favorite pizza place in Long Beach that isn’t named Little Coyote. Their crust is a gorgeous cross between sourdough and New York-style, with a brittle crispness along the bottom and those leopard-spotted ends we know and love. The greatest pie in the house is the LBC, a classic cheese pizza topped with fennel sausage, pepperoni cups, and cute little dollops of ricotta for a bit of creaminess. They also have some Jersey-style bar pizza on the menu, which is so thin it’s mostly just a crunchy vessel for whatever toppings you want. With just a few bistro tables inside, Speak Cheezy makes for an exciting (but low-key) lunch move, or a to-go spot that you can brag about to anyone who will listen.

Rivera’s image

Rivera's Mexican Restaurant

When it comes to old-school Mexican restaurants in Long Beach, people might point you to sports bar-ish Los Compadres, late-night hang El Sauz, or fusion-y Enrique’s near the Marina. But we like Rivera’s, a homey, family-run place on East 7th that has been open since the ‘90s. We love the retro wood-paneled dining room, glowing string lights on the ceiling, and the odes to Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo covering the walls. Still, the highlight is the food, made with noticeable care in all the little details (even the salsa that comes with the free chips here tastes like freshly roasted chiles). The hefty carne asada nachos and wet burritos are excellent, and the best menudo and pozole in the city are served six days a week. Our sole quibble is that the margaritas are agave wine-based, though that’s never kept us from ordering one.

Ammatoli image

Ammatoli is an attractive outdoor/indoor downtown spot with big windows, tiled walls, and a long leather banquette that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Parisian cafe. The casual Mediterranean menu is an all-day affair, specializing in mezze platters, kebab plates, and more dishes from the Levant. Whether you're stopping by for spicy tomato shakshouka at brunch or a shawarma and hummus platter at dinner, everything here is beautifully plated and well-seasoned, with lots of sort-of-healthy options like a falafel bowl and beet-feta salad we could eat daily. The moussaka, a hearty casserole made with eggplant, ground beef, and creamy bechamel sauce, makes it onto our table just about every time we come.

Sushi Nikkei image

Sushi Nikkei

You’ll probably have to wait for a table at this Peruvian-Japanese spot in Bixby Knolls. It’s tiny, with just a few seats at the bar and a couple of dining room tables. But when you finally sit and the staff starts bringing bright yellow bowls of Peruvian ceviche and lemon-coated parmesan scallops, you understand what all of the hype is about. Their menu is split between classic sashimi platters, tiraditos, and Nikkei-style sushi options like crispy tuna tacos and maki rolls drizzled with creamy acevichado sauce. All of the seafood here tastes like it was delivered from the ocean that morning, and the eye-catching use of garnishes and stylish atmosphere make this place feel a bit more upscale than your causal Tuesday night go-to sushi joint.

Thai Curry Pizza image

Thai Curry Pizza

At Thai Curry Pizza in Long Beach, you'll encounter pies that sound wrong in theory, but taste extremely right in practice. Alongside takeout staples like papaya salad and pad see ew, this strip mall gem offers mashups that layer Southeast Asian flavors onto crispy crusts. The tom yum pizza in particular is a masterpiece, topped with gooey mozzarella, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, and just enough tom yum paste to create an explosion of spicy-sour flavors. Dip any leftover crust into their panang curry sauce, which you can (and should) add on the side for $2. There are a couple of tables in the dining room, but most people take their orders home or to a nearby beachfront park, where they can lay horizontally and ponder what other promising food remixes should see the light of day.

El Pollo Imperial image

El Pollo Imperial

An amazing Peruvian restaurant in a former KFC with a fully functional drive-thru is about as Long Beach as it gets if you ask us. When it comes to juicy wood-roasted pollos a la brasa and wok-seared lomo saltado, El Pollo Imperial in North Long Beach is unmatched. The place is a local institution known for its affordable plates and long list of Peruvian specialties, which includes everything from tangy ceviche with sweet potato and corn kernels to shrimp fried rice topped with a heap of green onions. To top it off, each entree comes with warm rolls, their zesty ají verde, and a cup of aguadito, a soothing cilantro-laced chicken soup. Most diners do takeout here (see: the drive-thru), but there are a few booths inside if you want to hang out sipping Peruvian lagers or Inka Kola.

Saint & Second

Second & Saint is a classy two-story American restaurant that looks like a ski chalet and stays calm without feeling boring. Mornings generally attract locals from the nearby yacht club, but at night the place fills up with families sharing plates of short rib and rolls. If you go for dinner, get the bacon burger, some crispy fish and chips, and a juicy pork chop. There’s also a separate bar area on the top floor that’s great for a casual outdoor drink. You won’t be able to see the ocean per se, but there will be plenty of people-watching as the sun sets over 2nd Street.

The Attic image

One drink turned into two drinks turned into you crawling down 4th St. last night, and now you’re paying the price. Get yourself to The Attic. This converted bungalow has been open for a decade and is still the most popular brunch spot in Long Beach. Everyone’s here for three things: A great side patio, massive Bloody Marys, and Long Beach’s unofficial/maybe official food icon, the Mac N’ Cheetos—a giant bowl of mac and cheese covered in hot Cheetos. This seems like one of those things that was created for Instagram, and maybe it was. But it tastes pretty fantastic. The Southern-inspired supper menu is more polished than it used to be since a chef with a fine dining background took over, and that's a good thing: oozing pimento cheese toast, fried green tomatoes, and a thick burger with house steak sauce are solid options. Arrive before the rush, or plan to wait it out on the sidewalk.

Gusto Bread image

Gusto Bread

Bakery/Cafe

We first stumbled upon Gusto Bread after noticing its long line one weekend, and our lives have been different ever since. This counter-service bakery and cafe specializes in indigenous and Mexican-inspired baked goods made with heirloom blue corn masa and sourdough starter. Their standard menu often sells out by noon, and includes everything from spelt loaves and sesame-crusted flatbread to buttery biscuits and chocolate conchas (plus many other kinds of excellent pan dulce). If you manage to score an early spot in line, make sure to ask one of the “breadtenders” behind the counter to walk you through any specials. If you’re planning a picnic, drop by Gusto’s fridge for cheeses, deli meats, jams, and tinned fish, too.

Chiang Rai image

Long Beach has tons of great Thai spots, from the bare-bones Tasty Food to Go to the more upscale Thai District , but none of them are quite like Chiang Rai, a neon-hued Eastside restaurant that specializes in less commonly seen Northern Thai dishes. Make a beeline for anything in the “Chiang Rai Local Food” section of the menu, including fragrant sai oua sausage with a fiery green chile dip, dry-style khao soi noodles, and a vivid sweet-salty yellow curry that comes with fried chicken and flaky roti bread for dipping. And if you decide you just want to stay home and order takeout, Chiang Rai has you covered, too—the kitchen puts as much love into delivery staples like pad thai and pineapple fried rice as they do their Northern-style beef larb.

Tacos La Carreta image

Tacos La Carreta

If you think you’ve tried every great taco in LA , make sure you’ve paid a visit to Tacos La Carreta before you pop off. This street-cart-turned-food-truck—which relocated from Compton to an industrial stretch of North Long Beach a couple of years ago—specializes in Sinaloa-style chorreadas, a toasted corn tortilla that’s slicked with pork fat, then topped with a mound of chopped grilled steak and a rough salsa thickened with chopped cabbage. It might look a little like a standard asada taco, but your first one will be a near religious experience. You can add melted cheese to the whole setup to make it a vampiro, or swap in a baked potato for the tortilla to make it a papa loca. All of them are fantastic with their agua de cebada, a creamy-sweet drink that’s like horchata but made with roasted barley. Make sure to check La Carreta’s Instagram for hours of operation.

Sesame Dinette image

Sesame Dinette

Sesame Dinette, a tiny cafe just off PCH with a big menu of Vietnamese dishes, is perfect for a daytime snack. The white-walled space looks like a chic coffee shop that doubles as an art gallery, and there are several wooden picnic tables inside where you can eat things like pork banh mi, vegan duck noodle soup, and chicken cabbage salad. It’s run by the family behind Sesame LA, a local market and home goods shop in Chinatown, and will soon operate as an incubator for up-and-coming chef residencies and pop-ups. In addition to housemade pastries, and pantry staples from AAPI-run small businesses, they offer a sesame-studded banh mi sandwich that ranks among our favorites in LA .

Ellie’s image

Ellie's

Ellie’s is pretty special. Located in a quiet neighborhood not too far from downtown, with a big front patio and a small dining room, they serve some very tasty Southern Italian food. The seasonal vegetables dishes and handmade pastas are fantastic—especially the shrimp and ’nduja tagliatelle—but the best thing here might be the grilled bread and pork butter. Pork butter is as good as it sounds, but it’s even better when it comes on a board of grilled bread alongside caviar butter, apple mostardo, and optional grilled bone marrow (might as well go all in). This place is a great choice for an intimate dinner, but be warned: parking in the area is near-impossible at night.

La Parolaccia Osteria image

La Parolaccia Osteria

When you walk into La Parolaccia Osteria, you might feel the urge to say things like “ciao bella” and take pictures in front of some Roman pottery. That’s because this restaurant looks like a villa in Tuscany where servers greet their regular customers with consensual cheek kisses. Most people come here to feast with a group of friends, but there are also a couple of candlelit two-top tables that work well for a lively date night. Beyond its charm, you should visit La Parolaccia Osteria for their wood-fired pizzas and well-priced handmade pastas that deliver big flavor. Our favorite dish is their velvety tortellini alla panna, which arrives with a thick dusting of freshly shaved parmesan and tender-chewy al dente noodles.

Liv’s image

Long Beach’s most exciting oyster bar has a little something for everyone. From a platter of sweet and briny mollusks on ice and a fried oyster caesar to a mountain of fries covered in creamy seafood chowder, Liv’s in Belmont Shore isn’t afraid to let shellfish be the stars of the menu. Its sidewalk patio has so many string lights, you’ll feel like you’re eating under an old-school theater marquee. But if you’d rather sit inside, Liv’s long marble bar is the perfect place to bring a date. If you can, stop by on a Monday night to take advantage of Liv’s half-off oyster deal. And follow their Instagram for the latest on pop-ups and events, like a fried oyster pizza collaboration with another name on this list, Little Coyote.

El Barrio Cantina image

El Barrio Cantina

El Barrio Cantina is a self-described modern Mexican restaurant on Retro Row that reimagines traditional dishes without getting too carried away. There’s a fantastic carne asada-style ribeye with roasted tomato salsa (ask for a side of the homemade Sonoran flour tortillas), fresh Peruvian scallops on the half shell in spicy aguachile, and crunchy fried potato tacos doused with crema and salsa verde that are simple and straight up delicious. Don’t overlook the clever “Sea(Sar)” salad, which ups the umami with seaweed and a cilantro-anchovy dressing. The high-ceiling dining room is breezy and bright, but as the sun sets the place becomes moody enough for date night. Cocktails mix tequila and mezcal with lots of fruit and spice, plus there’s a solid list of affordable wines by the glass.

Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Restaurants Guide

This article discusses the restaurants at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. We’ll preview a list of restaurants for both resorts and then provide an individual overview of each one.

Some dining options might not be so obvious when you stay at either Disney’s Beach or Yacht Club. While the resorts have adequate table-service restaurants and lounges, the quick-service locations are insufficient.

We recently spent an entire week at the Yacht Club and used a few loopholes to do well with dining. However, I overheard multiple guests complaining about the lack of restaurants during our stay.

Most mornings, I woke up early and jogged or walked around Crescent Lake. Twice, I ran into guests asking cast members where they could eat breakfast. One of those guests, an older gentleman, exclaimed, “You mean this restaurant is the only place I can get breakfast at this hotel,” referring to Ale and Compass.

In both situations, the guests were frustrated. You pay a premium price to stay at a hotel, and the quick service options are stuck inside a hotel gift shop–most of them premade–and room service hasn’t been available in years!

We go on and on about the Disney Beach and Yacht Club. It’s our favorite place to stay in all of Walt Disney World! So, I felt it was important to update our dining guide for the resorts and share these frustrations. You are not alone.

But I sincerely believe you can do well for breakfast and most other meals without always needing a dining reservation at a table service restaurant. So, let me share what’s available with a few tips to enhance your vacation instead of leaving you frustrated!

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Beach Club Marketplace is the primary quick-service restaurant on the Beach Club side of the resort. It’s located off the resort’s lobby.

Part of the Beach Club Marketplace is the Beach Club’s gift shop . The other half offers grab-and-go items, regular menu items, and a beverage station.

Beach Club Marketplace serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is usually open from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. You can preview the Beach Club Marketplace Menu on Disney’s site.

You can get a few decent items for breakfast, like breakfast sandwiches, a Bounty Platter (bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and a biscuit), and Mickey waffles.

However, lunch and dinner items are pretty limited. Those items include a pulled pork sandwich, a foot-long all-beef hot dog, baked macaroni and cheese, a roasted half-chicken dinner, and a garden salad.

Kids’ meals include a turkey sandwich, PB&J Uncrustable, baked mac and cheese, and a hot dog. If you want chicken nuggets, you’ll need to pick them up at Hurricane Hanna’s.

Disney Beach Club Restaurant Menu

In addition to menu items, Beach Club Marketplace has a good deal of premade grab-and-go items. Here are a few photos from a recent visit.

Food items in the quick service restaurant at Disney's Beach Club

If you are a chocolate lover, you’ll want to try the plant-based chocolate brownie with icing. A cast member shared that it was a guest favorite, so I tried it on a previous visit. It was delicious!

Unfortunately, this location does not have a formal indoor seating area. However, you can enjoy your meal in the nearby Solarium. Additionally, a separate covered outdoor patio with tables and chairs is available across the walkway.

For more specifics about this location, we have an entire review of Disney’s Beach Club Marketplace . It includes photos of everything you can expect at this quick service.

Disney Beach Club Restaurant seating area

The Market at Ale and Compass is almost identical to Beach Club Marketplace. The Market is down a hall, only a few steps from the Yacht Club’s lobby.

This location offers mainly grab-and-go style sandwiches, salads, and pastries. However, a few made-to-order selections are available.

The Market area at Ale and Compass

Hours of operation are daily between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The Market serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Limited seating is available inside.

For breakfast, items include breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast bowl (scrambled eggs, a Mickey waffle, potato barrels, bacon, and a biscuit), Mickey waffles, and oatmeal.

Lunch and dinner items include premade cold sandwiches, premade salads, a grilled chicken panini, a Cuban sandwich, and a ham and cheese sandwich. Kids’ meals include a ham sandwich, turkey sandwich, mac and cheese, or grilled cheese.

Additionally, The Market has a relatively extensive list of specialty coffee drinks. So, this is an excellent stop to pick up a caffeinated beverage.

Rapid Fill Mugs

We didn’t dine at The Market at Ale and Compass or Beach Club Marketplace during our stay. However, two in our group purchased a Rapid Fill mug from The Market at Ale and Compass.

At the time of this update, mugs are $21.99 and can be used at any resort quick service with a refillable beverage station for the length of your stay. So, for these resorts, you can refill them at either quick service or Hurricane Hanna’s by the pool.

Tip: If you visit any other resort’s quick service, you can use the mugs there. For instance, if you take the Skyliner to Primo Piatto at the Riviera for breakfast, take your mug with you.

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill is a quick-service dining location at Stormalong Bay . For those unfamiliar, Stormalong Bay is the pool area shared between the resorts. It’s so large that it has its own name.

Hurricane Hanna’s is usually open daily from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. They serve standard items like burgers, chicken nuggets, and salads. Here is a preview of their menu. (Those frozen grapes make for an excellent treat at the pool.)

Yacht Club Restaurant Menu

They have a separate cocktail menu.

Hurricane Hanna Menu at Yacht and Beach Club

Seating at Hurricane Hanna’s is available outside of the pool area. However, if you’re at the pool, a server is usually available to take your order during the busier portions of the day.

Seating area at Hurricane Hanna's

On a past visit, we rented a cabana at Stormalong Bay and ordered lunch from the poolside quick service. I got the grilled chicken sandwich.

Over the years, we’ve ordered food from Hurricane Hanna’s and taken it back to our room. This spot has always been our go-to location for allergy-friendly chicken nuggets when staying at the resort.

You’ll find three lounges between Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. I use the word lounge loosely because they are all excellent locations to enjoy dinner without a dining reservation.

We’ve had dinner at all three locations and consider each a bit of a hidden gem. First, we’ll discuss Ale and Compass Lounge, the primary lounge off the Yacht Club’s lobby.

This location is open daily from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Several items from Ale and Compass Restaurant are available on the lounge menu.

Those items include hearth-oven flatbreads, Parker House rolls with spreads, roasted Buffalo-style cauliflower, blue crab bisque, roasted garlic shrimp, and the bacon and Vermont cheddar burger.

Related: Ale and Compass Lounge

Crew’s Cup Lounge

You’ll find Crew’s Cup Lounge next to Yachtsman Steakhouse. Crew’s Cup appears to be a bit of a hole in the wall. But once you spend a few moments inside, you’ll be glad you decided to stop. It’s one of the friendliest places on the property.

Disney's Yacht Club Restaurants

Crew’s Cup has a menu with a few offerings from Yachtsman Steakhouse. A menu is posted outside the entrance.

On this stay, we were allowed to order steaks from Yachtsman along with their delicious bread service. Since we had a younger member in our party, they also provided us with a kids’ menu.

Unfortunately, it was so dark I didn’t get great pictures. We had the ribeye and roasted prime rib. Other menu options included lobster corn chowder, Caesar salad, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and a charcuterie board.

You may remember we tried the charcuterie board on a previous visit. It was a tasty option that was more than enough to make a meal.

Related: Crew’s Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club

Lastly, Martha’s Vineyard is a lounge located on the Beach Club side of the resort. This location offers a tasty New England Clam Chowder.

I often stop here for a bowl on cooler evenings. The chowder is delicious and comes with a side of cornbread. (This chowder is supreme over the one at Beach Club Marketplace.) You can also order items like loaded potato barrels, Buffalo-glazed wings, mussels, and more.

Seafood Chowder from Martha's Vineyard at the Beach Club

If you’re looking for a cocktail or a meal, I wouldn’t hesitate to try any of the lounges. They are much more appealing than either of the resort’s counter services.

Ale and Compass is a restaurant that we frequent year-round. This trip was no exception. If you were to look at our receipts from our stay, you’d see one line item after another that said, “Ale & Compass.”

This is also our loophole location for dining at the resorts. Yes, it’s a table service restaurant. But they offer mobile ordering.

Ale and Compass serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are open most of the day. But they close around 2:00 p.m. and reopen at 5:00 p.m. for dinner service.

We enjoy having breakfast inside the restaurant from time to time. This location has a popular breakfast buffet that includes an entree for a reasonable price.

Those chocolate waffles are one of the entrees, and they are every bit as delicious as they look. They come topped with mascarpone, cherries, and chocolate shavings.

chocolate waffles with bacon from Ale and Compass

We have also enjoyed many other menu items for lunch and dinner at Ale and Compass. But our favorite thing to do when staying at the hotel is to order takeout and enjoy it at the pool.

Since the feature pool opens at 10:00 a.m., we ordered breakfast at 9:30 a.m. each day of our stay. It was usually ready by 9:50 a.m. So I would pick up our order and get in line to rope drop the pool. (It’s a very popular pool.)

Each day of our stay, we enjoyed breakfast at the Stormalong Bay Pool. Honestly, it was our favorite part of the trip!

breakfast at Disney's Yacht Club

A few mornings, I had blueberry pancakes. Oh, and the best part? This item below is a kids’ meal other than the coffee. For a reasonable price, you receive two pancakes and two sides. I chose roasted sweet potatoes and sausage.

pancake with sausage from a Disney Yacht Club Restaurant

The first evening before everyone arrived, I enjoyed a cheeseburger with fries and broccolini at the pool. This was another mobile order kids’ meal from Ale and Compass.

cheeseburger from Disney's Yacht Club

I cannot stress enough how much we love this location for table-service dining and to-go orders. It is so simple to order your food and pick it up.

If you don’t want to dine at the pool, you can find a seat in the neighboring lounge or return to your room. And if you don’t want to pay a table service price, mobile order a kids’ meal. It will be a better quality than what’s available at the quick service. (However, note that kids’ meals are not an option for adults when dining inside the restaurant.)

Parker House Rolls at Disney's Yacht Club

Most everyone planning a stay at either Disney’s Beach or Yacht Club will want to secure a reservation for Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. This diner-style restaurant is located directly behind Stormalong Bay.

Beaches and Cream serves burgers, fries, grilled cheese, and onion rings. They also have an array of popular sundaes, milkshakes, and banana splits for dessert.

interior of a restaurant at Disney's Beach Club

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop takes walk-ups based on availability. However, to ensure a table, you will want to make reservations. Due to the restaurant’s popularity, reservations are sometimes difficult to obtain.

However, if you’re only going for ice cream or would like a treat to enjoy by the pool, you’re in luck! Beaches and Cream has a walk-up window that serves ice cream only.

You can get pretty much everything except the kitchen sink! Well, actually, you can get the kitchen sink. Just make sure you have someone(s) to help you.

Here is the menu description: Scoops of Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cookies ‘n Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip topped with Hot Fudge, Peanut Butter, SNICKERS® pieces, Fresh-baked Brownie, and smothered in every additional topping we have. Also available are Chocolate Lovers or Neapolitan. (Serves Four)

Cape May Cafe is located on the Beach Club side of the resort. This restaurant offers two unique dining experiences. First, they have a daily breakfast buffet from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

This meal is considered character dining and referred to as Minnie’s Beachside Bash. Characters at this meal include Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy.

Breakfast items include salted caramel beach buns, oatmeal, grits, cheddar biscuits and gravy, omelets, carving stations, fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and more.

For dinner, Cape May Cafe is open from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. This meal is a seafood-and-more dinner buffet.

Cape May’s seafood buffet includes clams, shrimp, mussels, pasta, soups, salads, roasted beef, desserts, and more. However, it’s important to note that this meal is not character dining. Characters only appear at breakfast.

Unfortunately, snow crab legs are no longer part of the all-you-can-eat buffet. At the time of this article, an order of extra crab legs cost $29.00 per pound.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a signature dining establishment on the Yacht Club side of the resort. It’s so good that it’s included in our list of the best signature dining options at Disney World . They are open nightly from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Like its name, the steakhouse serves a variety of quality aged in-house meats. The restaurant’s signature steak is the New York Strip.

So far, we’ve tried the filet mignon, ribeye, and prime rib. All were delicious, but the ribeye with blue cheese butter was more than memorable.

Restaurants near Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

Lastly, we’ll discuss a few dining options near the Beach and Yacht Club. As you probably know, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot are within walking distance of the resorts. So you’ll want to plan some meals when you visit those parks.

Disney’s Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels are also within walking distance. This means you’ll find plenty of table-service dining options within the area. However, quick-service locations are lacking in the entire Epcot Resorts Area .

Dining options at Disney’s Boardwalk include Trattoria al Forno and Flying Fish. You might also get a sandwich or treat at the Boardwalk Deli . (Unfortunately, Big River Grille permanently closed.)

long beach yacht club restaurant

Disney’s Swan and Dolphin has multiple signature dining options: Il Mulino, Todd English’s Blue Zoo, and Shula’s Steakhouse. Shula’s is one of the best meals we’ve had!

If you’re looking for something more casual, try The Fountain, located on the Dolphin’s first floor. This restaurant is similar to Beaches and Cream and offers diner-style menu items.

And if you prefer to eat outside, the Cabana Bar and Beach Club Grill is by the pool. This location takes walk-ups, and they have several tasty menu options. Additionally, Rosa Mexicano is the resort’s newest restaurant.

Final Thoughts on Dining at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

When it comes to restaurants, you’ll find plenty of options between Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. As for a quick meal, remember that mobile ordering from Ale and Compass is your friend.

As far as staying at the resorts, they are pretty hard to beat. While I often complain about the lack of places to enjoy a casual meal in this area, it’s usually our only issue. So, I don’t necessarily mean to put a damper on things by complaining. But it’s something you’ll want to be aware of going into your stay.

Hi, I'm Amber the owner of Resorts Gal . We have stayed at every single Disney Resort Hotel. Our philosophy? We believe you can have an incredible time at the resorts without ever setting foot in a theme park. We live near the parks and visit weekly and would love for you to follow along.

Great review! We’ve been to many of the restaurants mentioned and it’s funny because it was the Hurricane Hanna’s that surprised us the most. My sister and I ate there on a whim and I remember talking about it even days later because I couldn’t believe how good it was for a pool bar…lol

Thank you! We love Hurricane Hanna’s, it’s the saving grace for counter service at the resort.

Our friends who are members invite us to various activities the yacht clue hosts. Good food, good drinks, and great food value. The club house itself is clean and comfy.

Location, location, location!! The Shoreline Yacht Club of Long Beach offers beautiful views of the marina and surrounding areas. SYCLB is a private club with full bar and facilities to cater to groups of approximately 100 people. You have to have a club member "sponsor" your event. We've been fortunate to hold our LA/OC/IE car club's holiday party here for the past 15 years (other than last year due to Covid). Nice facility with spectacular marina views and beyond from the second story deck, bar lounge, and event room. Bartenders are friendly and efficient, even with large groups. Catering of holiday meals has always been wonderful. Restroom facilities could use some updating, but are large and clean. Plenty of parking in private lot.

Have a birthday dinner planned here during the club's monthly movie night; pirates of the Caribbean. We decided to visit the club a week early for a weekend brunch and was not disappointed. Once we arrived at the front door we were greeted with a welcoming, Hi! Then upstairs to start what would be a two and half hour visit and meeting several members who were super friendly. Thanks Bob, Warren & Laura. The very is beautiful and includes seeing the queen mary. There is private and public parking and the only resaon I took off 1 star was for the parking area needs to be repaved by the city. yes, i did ask who maintaned the parking area. You need to watch your step BUT once in the club that is in the past and be ready for a GREAT time!

So much fun! Especially after a leisure ride on a yacht around the harbor. The ride on the yacht was for my birthday last year. My bf's sister and her husband own a yacht and thought it would be fun to tour the harbor with crackers and the best effing cheese ever and mango margarita's. On the way back the boat blew one of it's engines. We were towed back to the marina emergency style. Sounds odd but that was the most exciting birthday I ever had. There was a helicopter circling us for fuck sake! Okee...so to get back to the yacht club, we went there for my bday dinner and had the best prime rib. They have a full bar that is run by the members. We hung out in the bar during their 50's sock hop a few months back and had some whiskey and cokes that were very well made. I'm loving this place.

New Cape Coral Yacht Club designs: Most on council like a coastal, Key West vibe

long beach yacht club restaurant

Given three different design options for the new Yacht Club Community Center , most of the Cape Coral City Council is leaning toward a coastal, Key West-flavor architecture.

At a committee of the whole meeting on Wednesday, the city sought direction from the council on a design direction for the outside of the community building.

"It's a concept, just like we do with anything else, and as we are designing, things may come up that we want to shift and be nimble (on)," said Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn.

James Pankonin with Kimley Horn, a consulting firm focusing on public and private developments, presented the information about the look of the community building.

Cape Coral's Yacht Club Community Park, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has been a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s but is set to undergo major renovations after Hurricane Ian delayed the original plans .

The current plans include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new resort-style pool.

The city is also preparing for the demolition of the Yacht Club and its facilities in April as it awaits permits.

No estimates could be provided for the price of the new building.

"It will really come into how much of certain materials are needed and construction methods," Ilczyszyn said.

The city will have that information once they have 30% of the construction design.

Two public meetings for the designs are planned for April 2 and May 7.

After getting public input, the city will vote to amend its contract with Kimley Horn to approve all these changes.

The plan is to have these changes approved or introduced before the summer hiatus.

Previous Coverage Demolition of Cape Coral's Yacht Club slated for April will cost almost $1 million

Cape Coral community news Courtyards of Cape Coral South sets bingo fundraiser for residents still affected by Ian

New Designs for the Yacht Club building

John Bryant with Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, a Sarasota-based design firm, said the goal with the new designs was to maintain the experience of the original Yacht Club.

The majority of the council preferred option one.

Design one:

Bryant described the first option as "coastal vernacular" and similar to the park buildings at Lake Kennedy and Yellow Fever Creek.

"So it's sort of informed by the current architectural work in 2024," Bryant said. "Kinda Key West."

Councilmember Dan Sheppard and Mayor John Gunter preferred option one.

Gunter said the design was the most pleasing for him.

Councilmember Keith Long liked option one and said he liked the Key West aesthetic.

Councilmember Tom Hayden liked option one.

Design two:

Option two is more informed by the current Yacht Club and would have a stone base and mid-century feel to it, according to Bryant.

"There's certainly opportunity to kind of further develop this option to have even more of the existing Yacht Club feel, but a different vibe, feel than option one," Bryant said.

He also said option two might be more expressive the closer they try to recreate the aesthetic of the old ballroom building.

Councilmember Jessica Cosden liked design two as it incorporated design elements of the old building though she lamented how similar it looked to the first design.

"I wish we could have done more, but I know it's hard with a two-story building, to make it look the same as a very unique one-story building.

Councilmember Bill Steinke said two would be his choice as well, but was wary of additional maintenance of natural wood products used in the design.

"As long as we can bring that aesthetic and keep the maintenance down, number two would be my choice," Steinke said.

Councilmember Robert Welsh said he could go either way, but he liked the look of two.

Design three:

This would be more contemporary and modern.

"Even with a more contemporary language, you can still have warmth, incorporating some wood elements and stone elements," Bryant said.

None of the council members expressed any favorability for the third design.

Inside the new community center

The Community Center will have an additional 10,000 square feet for a total of 47,000 square feet, a history room to remember the first ballroom building on the first floor, and more rooms for civic and community use on the first floor.

Additionally, the new ballroom has shifted slightly as the balcony area on the second floor has been expanded to wrap around the top of the building.

“We love it,” gushes Zinaida, a grandmother who has come with her three grandchildren. “We live nearby and come as often as possible; We either bring games with us or the boys play soccer. On weekends a lot of people come here. Nearly everyone swims in the river.”

Beach №3 at Serebryany Bor (Polezhayevskaya subway station)

Getting here is a bit more complicated: From the subway station you have to take a 30-minute ride on shuttle bus #190. If you have a car, the beach boasts its own small parking lot.

The beach is free and almost “wild”: while some parts of the beach are equipped with sunbeds, the majority is covered with prickly grass and occasionally sandy spaces. While visitors generally prefer lying on their own towels on the ground, it’s possible to rent a sunbed for $9.50 per day.

You can easily find the showers, restrooms and cafe (which doubles as a bar on weekdays), ping-pong tables and a volleyball court. In addition, you can take a ride on a boat.

“It’s great on weekdays – the beach is empty!” one of the visitors told RBTH. “But on weekends it’s tough to be here – there are just too many people. The water here is clean enough: You can even see water lilies.”

Superbeach club (Strogino subway station)

The beach is located on the shores of the Bolshoi Stroginsky backwater. You can reach it by bus #687 or #277. There is also a small parking lot. While in the evenings there are loud parties (tickets are up to $16), during the daytime you can relax on a sunbed and bathe in the lake.

Everything is clean and tidy and facilities – including changing rooms, restrooms, and a restaurant – are available. On weekdays the price is $5; on weekends it will cost you $8. Watersports are available for those who just can’t sit still, ranging from wakeboarding and aqua biking to boat rentals and even windsurfing. Soccer and volleyball courts are available, as is a huge trampoline.

One main advantage of the beach is that – whether because of the wind or the landscape design – you feel a bit closer to the sea.

The pool in Flakon (Dmitrovskaya subway station)

A nice (and free) place in the city center to stop by and plunge into the pool right after work. It's just five minutes from the subway. Paid parking is available for car owners on the premises of the Flakon art cluster.

The beach area itself is relatively small, with only a couple dozen sunbeds. The pool itself is big and spotlessly clean. Some visitors sit in the attached café.

Don’t expect to feel at one with nature here: The pool is surrounded by the walls of the former crystal glass factory, covered with graffiti. However, if you happen to be in Flakon, come to the “beach.” According to sunbathers this place is “very Moscow.”

The pool at Sokolniki Park (Sokolniki subway station)

After only a 10-minute walk from the subway, you can dive into The Bassein. Although the complex is not all that big, it is well equipped: two swimming pools (a big one for adults and a smaller one for children) with heating and a waterslide, multiple sunbeds, a playground, changing rooms, restrooms and storage lockers.

Source: Press photo

You can eat either in a pleasant café nearby or right on the sunbed. Gear for sports and games (ranging from ping-pong, volleyball, badminton or backgammon ) is available to rent as well .

This place is great for young people: electronic music is blasted out throughout the day, while on the weekend there are popular parties.

A session (which lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes) costs $6 on weekdays and $9.50 on weekends; all-day sessions cost $9.50 and $22 respectively.

Time for a bigger boat? Check out what the Palm Beach International Boat Show has to offer

long beach yacht club restaurant

Whether you're the son of a son of a sailor or even just love that song and want to know more, the granddaddy of all boating events is happening this weekend along the West Palm Beach waterfront.

That's right, the Palm Beach International Boat Show is back for four glorious days along Flagler Drive.

This will be the 42nd annual event, and organizers promise it will be bigger and better than ever.

There will be $1.2 billion worth of Bond-worthy super yachts, cruisers, sportfishing boats, center consoles and even inflatables to see and tour, along with attractions and activities highlighting the latest in boat engines, motors and accessories. There will also be the latest fishing gear and even fishing seminars.

Yes, it's a big event, but don't be intimidated. In fact, here are seven fun facts about the show:

How many boats can this boat show boast?

There will be more than 800 boats on display along the floating docks in the Intracoastal Waterway.

What is the biggest boat at the boat show?

With a length of 236 feet (and 38 feet wide), Casino Royale takes the title for largest boat this year. This gorgeous yacht, designed for her exterior lines by Francesco Paszkowski with interior by Paszkowski’s interior lead designer Margherita Casprini, is also one of the most technically advanced yachts in her category. Casino Royale is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516B main engines and has an impressive top speed of 17.5 knots. You can put your checkbooks away for this one, however, as she is only on display and not for sale.

This boat is the boat show's most epensive

Built in 2022 and 196-feet long, Come Together is listed for $59,950,000. This expedition yacht was delivered by the Dutch shipyard Amels and features interior styling by British designer Winch Design. It can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins along with 14 crew members.

Are spectators allowed to go on the boats?

To go onboard the yachts and superyachts, visitors must make an appointment with the brokers. For the smaller boats, however, spectators can come onboard if they are interested in buying.

What is the smallest boat?

The smallest boat being displayed on the water is a runabout boat that is 22-feet-6-inches long, and 5-feet-11 wide. It is manufactured by Hermes.

Eating inside the boat show

The show will have dozens of food concessions featuring almost anything you could be craving, from Greek gyros to woodfired picanha, authentic street tacos and hand-crafted burgers. On a seafood diet? Enjoy fresh stone crab claws, calamari, oysters, and much more! Vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free? No problem; they have options for you as well.

And libations at the boat show?

Of course there will be drinks. To be precise, there will be four bars for general admission guests, including two floating cocktail barges: the Goslings Island Bar and the Anheuser-Busch Barge. In addition there will be multiple bars in the Windward VIP Club.
