Wonderful and Relaxing!

Our Sunset cruise on the Moana was delightful!

We had 15 family members ranging from 10 to 78, and everyone was comfortable. Patrick and his crew kept us entertained and pampered. They even provided snorkeling gear, and a guide, and took us to a swimming spot for the kids.

The younger kids enjoyed being out in front in the "splash zone". The crew keep the boat spotless, and kept us "well fed and watered". It was a beautiful afternoon and lovely sunset.

We went out on the moana boat on November 7 th with 15 friends and it was perfect, just as all the other reviews have said, Patrick and his crew were excellent!

Everyone with our group and I mean everyone said it was the best part of their vacation. I think cooking the food  menu on board added a special touch and it was wonderful.

A five-star experience, I must say! Captain Bertrand was an incredible host, a true bon vivant, and an absolute master in the kitchen. We snorkeled, paddleboarded, and swam in stunning locations, far from the  crowds. We were even fortunate enough to encounter some tortues sauvages along the way. The boat is in excellent condition, and the crew members are exceptionally accommodating. I highly recommend it if you are seeking a private charter with great value. C'est magnifique!

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Non-Refundable 1. Cancellations less than 7 days before your trip are non-refundable. 2. If you don’t show up for your trip, you will not be issued a refund. (NO SHOW, NO REFUND) 3. There are no refunds once you leave the dock if you get sea sick or if you think the seas are too rough. *We will advise you before the trip on sea conditions but please remember that weather can be a bit unpredictable at times and we can not always be 100% accurate when forecasting the weather and sea conditions. ​ Refundable 1. Deposits are refundable due to cancellations because of Port Closure due to foul weather conditions. (The weather can still be rough but if the port is open, the trip will remain on schedule but ultimately will be up to the Captain to cancel the trip for bad weather for every ones safety.)

2. Also, you will receive full refund if the trip is cancelled due to an issue with the boat. *Boats sometimes break down or have mechanical issues that are unexpected. 9 times out of 10 we have a back up boat ready in-case this happens. The back up boat is not always the same price, therefore we will send photos and pricing of new boat and let you decide what you would like to do.

3. You will have up to 7 days before the trip to cancel for any personal reasons.

For any and all refunds, a 10% fee will be withheld for payment processing.

The boat was clean and in good condition. My disappointment was as follows… - The snorkel was probably the cheapest model ever made and was hard to hold in my mouth. I have my own mask and snorkel because I’m a diver but, didn’t bring my own because it was advertised that gear was provided. - There were too many people for one in-the-water guide and there is no way in hell that beginner snorkelers should be doing a drift snorkel with no fins. Of course, it’s probably good there were no fins because everyone was constantly banging into each other as they tried to stay together. We had only a 4 day stay at an all inclusive resort and had to allocate our time wisely. This was a great choice for 2 active seniors. Had a great time aboard ship, met several nice people. Snorkeling was just long enough for us. Crew was very accommodating, supplying cocktails and snacks. We've taken similar cruise excursions throughout the Caribbean and this was exactly what we expected. Be sure to go to the back of Diamonds International to sample small sips of all their flavored tequilas -- NO CHARGE! There are almost a dozen to sample. Of course, they'd love to sell you a big bottle but no high pressure sales tactics. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the description makes you think they are going to stop at playa norte but we didn’t. This is something we were looking forward to. Everything else was great! They had about 6-7 crew members and all were nice and accommodating. They were quick to bring us drinks the whole time. Great music playing. We only had about 20 people on the catamaran so it was nice and not crowded. We first stopped at the Punta Sam reef and under water museum. They let my kids snorkel and were very helpful when they got tired. The snorkeling is just ok but it seems to be a popular spot. Other boats around. After we kept moving to isla mujeres they provided chips guacamole and pico. They provided plenty. We arrived and had about 2 hours on the island. We went to eat at muella 7 and enjoyed it very much. However it didn’t leave us much time for anything else. We just walked to playa centro but didn’t have time to make it playa Norte which was close by. We met them back and the ride back was very enjoyable. They didn’t rush, played good music and provided several tequila shots lol. Read more Written June 6, 2022

Filipe, Jose, Alan and Fran were so fun and accomodating. Hospitality A+. Great guacamole, and pico with chips. Drinks were top notch. Karaoke on the boat was so fun. CANCUN, Mexico – When the traffic light turns red, three boys light up torches. Boldly, they stand before the stopped cars and juggle flaming sticks. The flashes of light spin through the night air from one boy to the next. Just before the signal switches to green, the three jugglers stop, race to accept tips from motorists, then wait for the next red light.

Cancun is full of entertaining moments like this one. We chanced upon many surprises during our recent stay.

It’s been a little more than 50 years since this city on the northeast tip of the Yucatan Peninsula set out to become a vacation paradise. More than 21 million tourists visited in 2023.

Many visitors stay in the Cancun hotel zone, a narrow spit of land that splits the Caribbean Sea to the east and Nichupte Lagoon to the west. From our beach chairs, we watch catamarans sail through the waves. Guests aboard in party mode dance to loud music. At night, we watch two large pirate-ship attractions move out to sea while crew members stage performances complete with booming cannon shots. Lights strung from tall masts and rigging remind us of a movie set and envelop us in the magical fun of Cancun.

Visitors may be tempted to lounge on a resort’s sandy beach for their entire stay, getting up only for a dip in the pool. Others use Cancun as a springboard for snorkeling, diving and fishing in the Caribbean Sea. Cave divers jump into cenotes, the water holes found in the interior to the west. History lovers explore the region’s many Mayan ruins and archaeological museums.

Experiencing the Yucatan

A drive along Boulevard Kukulcan is a sightseeing adventure in itself. The 262-foot Torre Escenica observation tower overlooks Cancun’s world of color, sights, scents and sounds. Shoppers buy fashion brands at the upscale Luxury Avenue Mall and purchase locally made crafts at the open-air Mercado Coral Negro. Lorenzillo’s, which highlights fresh-caught seafood on its menu, is among the top restaurants supplying romantic views of the lagoon at sunset.

The Mayan Museum of Cancun provides an oasis of calm. The sleek, white building opened in 2012 after hurricanes damaged previous facilities. The museum houses one of the world’s largest collections of Mayan artifacts, many from the state of Quintana Roo, in which Cancun is located, but some from other areas of the Mayan nation.

Outside the building, visitors stroll through dense maritime forest to see the San Miguelito archaeological site. Birds, like the cheeky yellow-breasted great kiskadee, flutter through the trees and rest on stone ruins. Dwellings, temples and a pyramid remain from a Mayan community that existed here from the 13thto the 16th century.

More ruins of ancient communities are found near natural pools called cenotes. They are the Yucatan’s main freshwater source and dot the limestone landscape of the region. A cluster of cenotes lies west of the fishing village of Puerto Morelos along a highway aptly named the Cenotes Route. It is within an hour’s drive of Cancun. The sinkholes beckon snorkelers and cave divers who explore open-air water holes and underground pools.

We visit Cenote La Noria. It’s an otherworldly place of color and light, especially as they play off the stalactites and other rock formations. The water is cool and seemingly bottomless. What lies within appears in bright blue rays lighted from the large hole to the sky. Minnow-sized fish swim past.

Island adventure

A 12-mile ride in a catamaran across the wide bay leads to Isla Mujeres. Passengers reclining on the front deck let the waves give them an occasional dousing. The boat makes a 40-minute stop to allow snorkelers to visit the Underwater Museum of Art in Cancun National Marine Park. More than 500 sculptures rest on the sea floor, a setting enhanced by sea turtles and jewel-toned reef fish joining the display.

Then, it’s on to the Island of Women, a name given for its ancient connection to Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of fertility and the moon. For centuries, Mayan women made pilgrimages here to seek her favor. The wind-battered ruins of her temple rest at Isla Mujeres’ southernmost point.

The site also offers a sculpture garden, 34-foot-tall lighthouse and a clifftop walking path with spectacular views of the open Caribbean Sea. Waves crash against the rocky shoreline, sending off huge white-silver sprays. Private villas and exclusive beach clubs perch on the promontory.

In town, the social life takes place along the palm-shaded seaside promenades. Musicians entertain and vendors sell their handcrafts. Vacationers stream from the boats and beach chairs to wander through souvenir shops and passageways in the city center. Shops, restaurants and bars radiate a dizzying array of aromas, music and commotion.
