A General Description of Motor Yacht O'CEANOS

The work of the Mondomarine yacht builder in Italy the O'CEANOS is 50 m 164 (foot) in length. Finished and launched for 2006 this boat’s internal styling reflects the stature emanating from the boards of Studio Vafiadis. Superyacht O'CEANOS can accommodate up to 12 guests with 9 qualified crew. She will attain a high speed of 18 knots.

O’CEANOS was delivered to Golden Yachts of Greece in 2006. All their yachts also start with O, namely: O'PARI, O'REA, O'MEGA, O'RION, and O’ASIS.

Construction & Designing with respect to Luxury Yacht O'CEANOS

Studio Vafiadis was the naval architect firm involved in the technical vessel plans for O'CEANOS. Also the company Studio Vafiadis expertly collaborated on this venture. Interior designer Studio Vafiadis was selected for the internal internal styling. Italy is the country that Mondomarine constructed their new build motor yacht in. After official launch in 2006 in Savona the boat was passed over to the happy owner after final finishing. Her hull was crafted from aluminium. The motor yacht main superstructure is made for the most part with aluminium. With a beam of 8.9 m or 29.2 ft O'CEANOS has fairly large size. She has a fairly shallow draught of 2.3m (7.55ft).

Engines & Speeds For M/Y O'CEANOS:

The 3512B engine installed in the motor yacht is built by CATERPILLAR. She is driven by twin screw propellers. The engine of the yacht produces 1850 horse power (or 1380 kilowatts). She is fitted with 2 engines. The combined power for the boat is accordingly 3700 HP / 2760 KW.

With Superyacht O'CEANOS She Caters For The Following Passenger Accommodation Capacity For:

Apportioning chambers for a maximum of 12 welcome guests spending the night, the O'CEANOS accommodates everyone in luxury. Normally the vessel carries approx 9 expert crewmembers to operate.

O'Ceanos is a custom motor yacht launched in 2006 by Mondomarine and most recently refitted in 2014.

Founded in 1915 as Campanella shipyard, Mondomarine has had a diverse shipbuilding history.

O'Ceanos measures 49.50 metres in length, with a max draft of 2.30 metres and a beam of 8.90 metres.

O'Ceanos has an aluminium hull with an aluminium superstructure.

O'Ceanos also features naval architecture by Sydac and Studio Vafiadis.

Performance and Capabilities

O'Ceanos has a top speed of 18.50 knots and a cruising speed of 16.00 knots. She is powered by a twin screw propulsion system.

O'Ceanos has a fuel capacity of 80,000 litres, and a water capacity of 28,000 litres.

She also has a range of 3,400 nautical miles.

Accommodation

O'Ceanos accommodates up to 12 guests in 7 cabins. She also houses room for up to 11 crew members.

O'Ceanos is an ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service AMS, RINA Maltese Cross x 100-A-1.1 “Y” class yacht.

Iconic 'little blue boat' that calls Montrose Bay home up for sale after family makes tough decision

For almost 50 years a little blue boat has been moored on the River Derwent in Hobart's northern suburbs by the side of a busy highway.

It is known affectionately by many Tasmanians as "the little blue boat", and has floated alone next to the Brooker Highway at Montrose Bay over the decades.

Sea Breeze, its official name, was built by Robin Attrill in his Montrose backyard in the early 1970s.

His son Colin Attrill said the boat was launched at Macquarie Wharf in 1976.

"It's been on the mooring in Montrose Bay ever since, and that's why it's such an iconic little blue boat," he said.

Tasmanians curious about 'little blue boat'

The boat is an object of fascination for Brooker Highway motorists and foreshore walkers due to it seemingly never moving.

Colin Attrill said it was "absolutely amazing" the number of people who would stop and talk to him about the boat when he was launching the dinghy to go and check on it.

"The number of people that talk to me that are walking past and go 'that boat has been there forever' and 'it was there when I was going to school or every day when I've been driving to work'," he said.

"Some people say they've never seen it move. Well it used to move all the time.

"Of late it's slowed up, we're all busy and dad has slowed up. We lost mum and once that happened it impacted on family activities."

Tough decision to sell

Its owner is now 91 and the boat has not been sailed for about 10 years.

Colin Attrill said the family had recently made the tough decision to try to sell the boat.

"Dad isn't well and he's gotten old, which we all do, and the boat's got old," he said.

"Anyone who knows about a timber boat knows that they need maintenance."

Mr Attrill said the family used to put the boat on the slip at least once a year to clean and antifoul it, and do any repairs.

"But the past few years Dad has been unable to do anything, and the boat unfortunately has just sat on the mooring," he said.

He said the family decided it was time for the boat to have a new owner.

"Nobody is using it, it needs a new owner who will give it the time and get the enjoyment out of it that we had growing up," he said.

"It's a great boat, and there are many years left. Wooden boats just last."

'Next phase' for the boat

The Attrill family is full of passionate sailors and Robin's brother Peter represented Australia in sailing at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 — Tasmania's fifth Olympian and the first to represent the state in sailing.

When Robin finished building the 25-foot river cruiser, known by the family as The Breeze, it was used for trips away around Hobart.

"We used to have family trips down the channel, down to Cygnet, down to Dover, and all places in between fishing and weekends away," he said.

"We also used to go to events in Hobart like the Hobart Regatta, the Sandy Bay Regatta. We'd be down the river at any chance, or up the river. She made it to New Norfolk a couple of times.

"The boat was all over the place, wherever we could."

Mr Attrill said it would be a sad day when the boat left Montrose Bay after almost 50 years.

"We will see where it goes and where it ends up and what's the next phase for the boat," he said.

Over the years its owner has been keeping a watchful eye on it just a matter of metres away, across the Brooker Highway from his Montrose home of more than 70 years.

"He's always been there. He'd open the blinds in the morning in the kitchen and look out the window and there's the boat," son Colin said.

"It's always been a part of his life."

43m Pershing fast motor yacht Chorusline for sale

The 43.3-metre fast motor yacht Chorusline is newly listed for sale with Charles Carveles of Edmiston .

Delivered from the renowned Italian builder of fast yachts, Pershing , in 2019, this Pershing 140 is constructed of aluminium and was fully repainted in 2023. Her design is by Fulvio De Simoni with interior by Italprojects and naval architecture by Ferretti Engineering Department.

Chorusline is described by the broker as "like new" as she has only ever been used as a dayboat and her beds never slept in.

Accommodation for a party of 10 guests is arranged over four cabins, comprising a master suite, a double cabin and two twins with additional Pullman berths. There are quarters for a crew of seven in four cabins.

Presently, the main-deck owner's suite is used as an entertainment space with a dining room, bar and cinema room, connected to the saloon. This could easily be converted back to a cabin, all the plumbing and infrastructure being in place.
