• Mikonos Marina:  the port of Mykonos is a large harbor located in the island’s main town awash with beautiful Venetian architecture and plethora of waterside eateries with glorious views across the Aegean. The marina offers 30 berths up to a max 40m LOA.
• Tourlos Marina:  an idyllic sheltered harbor that is conveniently situated only 20 minutes walk from the center of Mykonos, with access to a range of tavernas, shops and bars close by. The marina has 222 slips for yachts up to 25m in length. 
• Santa Marina Resort:  an exclusive marina nestled in a secluded peninsula with a private sandy beach, 2 infinity pools and private helipad, as well as an upscale restaurant and chic beach bar. Santa Marina Resort hosts 10 slips for yachts up to 50m LOA.

For nights not spent in a marina, there are myriad pretty anchorages to be found in secluded coves and sheltered bays all around the coastline of this spectacular island. Ornos Bay is a beautiful spot for dropping anchor for the night, with easy access to shore and local amenities.

For something a little more secluded, head to O. Foúrnos , a glorious anchorage surrounded by stunning blue waters, perfect for a spot of watersports followed by a heavenly lunch on board. This spot also contains ancient ruins on the shoreline, proving you are never far from history in this astonishing island.  Elia Beach meanwhile boasts the longest stretch of sands in Mykonos and has beautiful clear waters for snorkeling and scuba diving, making it an ideal getaway from the bustling tourists. It is also the perfect venue for a long lunch and a few glasses of rose!

Other excellent anchorage spots include the wind-surfers favorite Kalafati Beach , Agios Ioanis and the ultra hip party hotspot Super Paradise Beach . Wherever you decide to anchor, you’ll be in prime position to witness Greece’s sensational sultry sunsets which offer up a light spectacle like nowhere else on earth. 

• As one of the biggest tourist destinations in Greece, it's also one of the most expensive. If you are visiting Mykonos as part of your Greece charter it's definitely worth bearing in mind that other islands in the archipelago will be substantially cheaper.
• Parties go on through the night in some of the biggest hotspots, especially on the popular beaches in the south, such as Super Paradise Beach, and probably best avoided if you are hoping to get some sleep.
• The Meltemi winds can blow very strongly, especially throughout August, which also happens to be Greece’s peak charter months. Possibly look to book in the shoulder months when the temperatures are equally agreeable but far less windy.
• Little Venice can get quite busy during summer, especially late afternoons when tourists file in to have a drink and watch the sunset. This is also true of the world-famous hilltop windmills around Mykonos Town, so be sure to arrive before the rush to secure a good spot.
• All the cobbled streets in Mykonos Town are pedestrian-only, which can prove an issue for some with limited mobility. 
• When visiting Mykonos’ religious sites, it is advisable to dress respectfully. 

Due to the huge popularity of yacht charters around the Cyclades archipelago, we strongly advise booking well in advance of your planned Mykonos yacht charter to ensure you get the perfect vessel for your selected dates. If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available can be tricky; the longer you leave it, the more challenging it will be. 

We recommend booking at least 3 months ahead to give your charter broker the time to organize a truly bespoke yacht vacation for you and your guests, and also book ahead for any nights you wish to spend in marinas.

We strongly advise booking your yacht charter in Mykonos at least three months in advance to ensure you get the yacht you desire. The longer you wait, the fewer choices you will have.

You'll find that there is a yacht to suit almost every budget in Mykonos so rest assured that you will find a vessel suitable to your requirements.

But when booking do keep in mind the costs that aren't included in the base rate, namely VAT and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually paid in advance of the charter and is commonly set at 30% of the charter fee. This allowance covers expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests. 

Please consult your yacht charter broker in Mykonos for any other costs you may need to factor in.

For most yacht rentals in Mykonos to be secured, you will usually need to provide a completed charter agreement and 50% of the charter fee as a deposit. This becomes payable once the contract has been signed.

New to charter?

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.

Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.

All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

In brief, Mykonos has an international airport that welcomes flights from Athens and several other cities from abroad. The island is also connected to Athens via ferry. To get to Mykonos from another island (Santorini, Paros, Naxos, and more) directly, ferries are the only option.

There is a regular ferry connection between Mykonos and the  ports of Athens . Ferries depart from both Rafina and Piraeus.
