Get to Know the Season 2 Cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

The ship's about to hit the fan.

preview for Here's What It Takes To Be On "Below Deck"

This season, we'll be introduced to several yachtie amateurs and experienced professionals alike, including one stew who comes from a family of yachties and a chef who worked in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants. But before the wild season premieres, let's get to know the charter crew of Parsifal III, ready to make a splash on a television screen near you.

"Below Deck: Sailing Yacht" is back for a second season starting March 1st at 9PM ET.

Daisy Kelliher

Position: Chief Stew

As chief stew, Irish born and bred Daisy is no stranger to the world of yachting—she comes from a family full of them. While she does have a legacy to uphold upon the Parsifal III, as we'll soon learn, she's no stranger to letting loose from time to time.

Daniele "Dani" Soares

Position: Second Stew

Instagram: @iamdanisoares

As Parsifal III's second stew, Dani has more than than eight years' of experience on yachts. Yes, she's great at her job, but she also admits having a sensitive side to her, which can sometimes get in the way of getting the job done.

Position: Third Stew

A relative newbie to yachting, Dore is hoping to gain more experience on the Parsifal III. Safe to say we can already predict some discord amongst the interior crew, based on their varying experience levels.

Natasha De Bourg

Position: Chef

Instagram: @living_vicariously_through_me

Parsifal III's new chef Natasha comes to the yacht with years of European culinary experience at Michelin-star establishments. She has sharp skills, which are only matched by her sharp tongue.

Colin Macrae

Position: Chief Engineer

As this season's chief engineer, Colin has eight years of yachting experience under his belt. He also has a popular YouTube channel following his sea adventures.

Position: First Mate

Instagram: @king_gk

As this season's first mate, Gary comes aboard the Parsifall III with over a decade of experience on both small boats and super yachts. As of June 2019, it appears he was in a relationship...which may or may not change when he's onboard the Parsifal.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Position: Deckhand

Instagram : @jeanluc_cerza_lanaux

Although he's technically the youngest crew member about Parsifal III at 25, it doesn't mean Jean-Luc isn't familiar with yachts. A former football player, the 6'8" deckhand has some experience working hard to achieve his goals.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravo

Instagram: @sydney_zaruba

As the lone female deckhand this season, Sydney isn't afraid to jump in to help. Previously, Sydney worked for her family's boat business.

Captain Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravo

Position: Captain

Instagram: @bigsailboats

Back for his sophomore season on the beloved boat franchise, Captain Glenn is still the calm and laid-back leader we all loved last year. But his crew members better watch out—despite his chill exterior, he's not afraid to give a piece of his mind when needed.

Headshot of Adrianna Freedman

Adrianna Freedman writes all things TV and film for Cosmo . When not binge-watching the latest series on Netflix, she is busy singing along to her favorite artists/showtunes, consuming too many coffees a day and dreaming about penning her next big story.

Captain Glenn Shephard

Originally from Montreal, Captain Glenn Shephard 's life has always been dictated by the need to see the world. Early on in his travels, he was invited onboard a 50-foot classic sailboat to work as a deckhand and was immediately hooked and has never looked back.  With over 20 years in the industry and 11 years as the Captain on Parsifal III, Glenn has hosted hundreds of high-end guests over many busy charter seasons. Glenn knows how to keep his cool while catering to the uber elite. This laid-back Captain is calm until his limits are pushed. Don't mess with Capt. Glenn!

Natasha De Bourg, Chef

Born in Trinidad, Natasha De Bourg escaped a difficult childhood, troubled marriage to take a leap of faith and attend culinary school in Europe. After finishing school, she focused on working at top Michelin-star restaurants. Her skills are sharp as a knife and eventually became an executive chef in France before getting yachting. Natasha's headstrong nature often puts her at odds with other crew members—especially her counterpart, Daisy , the Chief Stew.

Daisy Kelliher, Chief Stewardess

New Chief Stew  Daisy Kelliher  is considered a yachting legacy. Her grandfather was an Olympic sailor for Ireland in 1964, and her parents—and many aunts and uncles—were yachties. Though Daisy has a lot to live up to when she joins Parsifal III as the new Chief Stew, that doesn't stop her from diving head-first into crew politics and drinking like a true Irish woman. Daisy can always be counted on to give you a piece of her mind and let her hair down to have a good time.

Colin Macrae, Chief Engineer

Long-time sailor  Colin Macrae  worked as a Chief Engineer on superyachts for eight years before joining Parsifal III. With a big heart and an impish smile, Colin is more than happy to lend a hand anywhere that he might be needed. But when Colin's kindness gets mistaken for weakness, fireworks fly.

Gary King, First Mate

Having captained smaller boats and run the deck on several busy superyachts, Gary King 's 12 years of experience is apparent in the way he runs his deck team. On one hand, he rules his department with an iron fist but on the other hand, he is never the type to leave a party first. He brims with mischievous charm but his casual flirtation turned real feelings gets him in hot water on and off deck.

Dani Soares, Second Stewardess

After two weeks of dock walking for day work in France, Dani Soares started her career in yachting and has almost eight years of experience working on the interior of yachts. While she takes her job seriously, she lets her feelings get the best of her and leaves her questioning how to best chart the course ahead.

Alli Dore, Third Stewardess

Alli Dore boards Parsifal III as a divemaster with boating experience on the exterior and hoping to round out her resume with more experience on the interior. She is a bubbly, eccentric Australian with a big heart and unique perspective that guides her to emotionally, unexpected places.

Sydney Zaruba, Deckhand

No stranger to life on the water, Sydney Zaruba 's parents lived on a sailboat when she was born and she now helps run her family's boat business, where they charter a 76-ft schooner named Freedom. She takes pride in her knowledge of traditional sailing but being new to the super yachting world poses personal challenges as she gets caught in the undertow of a controversial boatmance.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux, Deckhand

As the youngest crew member and dubbing himself "the tallest deckhand in yachting," at almost seven feet tall, Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux spends most of the charter season trying to prove to the elder crew members he's on their level in many ways.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 3: 5 Things you need to know about Bravo reality show

Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn, a Montreal native, has always been driven by a desire to see the world. He was offered to serve as a deckhand aboard a 50-foot classic sailboat early in his journeys and was immediately captivated, never looking back. Glenn has welcomed hundreds of high-end guests during many hectic charter seasons during his 21 years in the industry, spanning 12 years as Captain on Parsifal III. While being a Bravo celebrity might be overwhelming, Glenn has stayed humble about his newfound status. While sipping drinks on the Spanish shore, the celebrity now gives Zoom sessions with fans of the program, where he spills on behind-the-scenes insights.

Colin MacRae

Colin MacRae, a seasoned sailor, spent 13 years as a Chief Engineer aboard superyachts before joining Parsifal III for his Season 2. On January 23, the head engineer shared the first official photo of himself and his girlfriend, Silvia Latini, on Instagram, announcing their significant relationship. "Everyone meet [Silvia]. She’s my girlfriend. Been almost a year now but we chose to keep it private. But we announced it on YouTube today," Colin wrote. In the comments of the Instagram post, Colin and Silvia received a lot of love from the Below Deck Sailing Yacht clan, including Captain Glenn Shephard, Sydney Zaruba, and Dani Soares, all of whom conveyed their fondest wishes for the couple.

Gary's 12 years of experience shows in the way he manages his deck crew, having commanded smaller boats and run the deck on several busy yachts. Gary is also famous for hooking up with his crewmates and has a party animal in him that pops out when the occasion is perfect. Gary was shown making out with Daisy Kelliher in the most recent teaser, which stunned many fans. Gary King first boarded the yacht Parsifal III in March 2021, while it was cruising in Croatia. Fans were unclear if he will return in Season 3 after the conclusion of Season 2. He surprised his followers, though, by uploading a photo on Instagram of himself formally joining the third season.

Natasha de Bourg

Chef Natasha is a Trinidadian who studied culinary arts in Europe before working at Michelin-starred restaurants. This season's chef, Marcos Spaziani, will be taking over the kitchen from Natasha De Bourg, and he'll be serving up some fire!

Daisy Kelliher

Chief stew is back. Daisy Kelliher is considered a legend in the sailing world. Daisy has a lot to live up to when she returns to Parsifal III following a successful previous season, and she can always be counted on to say what she thinks. Daisy Kelliher of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, who is known for her optimistic attitude, recently shared on social media that she has suffered from severe separation anxiety. Daisy is back for another season of the Bravo spinoff, and after a rocky first season at sea, she is attempting to be more transparent. Daisy startled fans when she stated that she had always suffered from acute separation anxiety. Her profession as a yachtie has just added to her sense of loss. The stew posted a photo of her sad face with a detailed explanation underneath it. Daisy pointed out that, while it may appear like being joyful is simple on social media, it isn't always the reality. She wanted to remind her followers that mental health difficulties affect many individuals, including herself.

Dani Soares

In the show, she is famous for her boat romance with Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux. Dani Soares' fame has increased dramatically since joining 'Below Deck Selling Yacht,' as has the controversy in her personal life. Last year, the actress revealed her pregnancy to her followers. She claimed to have conceived while production for 'Below Deck' was underway, causing outrage and leading viewers to assume Jean-Luc was the father. After a year of conjecture and guesses, as well as a rocky relationship with Dani Soares, deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux has finally revealed the long-awaited news. Linux has officially revealed that he is the father of Lily-Rose, Dani Soares' daughter, and is now learning to co-parent with his co-star.

Sydney Zaruba

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht', Bravo's yacht drama, is back for its third season, with new and returning cast members. However, Sydney Zaruba, who appeared in the previous two seasons, has announced that she would not be returning for the third season. Sydney Zaruba is the owner of Explorateur Travel, LLC, a travel firm. Through custom itineraries, the travel adviser wishes to link her customers with the rest of the globe. She has also managed to keep connected to her sea life through her podcast platform, Nautical Nonsense Pod. The water baby discusses the sea and wild waves of history, the ocean, and the folklore that surrounds it in her podcast.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Following the Season 2 reunion of 'Below Deck: Sailing Yacht', there was a lot of misinformation about the baby that  Dani Soares was about to give birth to. Soares wasn't perplexed; she knew her co-star Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux was the father, but he refused to have anything to do with the kid, she said. He said, on the other hand, that all he wanted was a paternity test to be sure. Lanaux has confirmed that he is the father of Dani Soares' baby Lily-Rose, and is now learning to co-parent with his co-star.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Season 2 Reunion Revelations: Dani’s Pregnancy, Gary’s Love Triangle and More

Below Deck's Dani: Baby's Father Doesn't Want 'Anything to Do With' Their Child

Just the beginning! The Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast virtually came together to break down everything that happened during the show’s second season — and nothing was off-limits.

During part one of the reunion on Monday, June 21, Glenn Shephard , Colin Macrae , Gary King , Natasha De Bourg , Daisy Kelliher , Dani Soares , Alli Dore and Sydney Zaruba returned to reflect on their highs and lows.

Deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux , who had some big questions to answer about his relationship with Dani since the season wrapped , was noticeably absent. However, host Andy Cohen confirmed that Jean-Luc did a separate interview for the reunion where he addressed the speculation that he’s the father of Dani’s baby .

“If that is my child, I want everything and anything to do with that child’s life,” Jean-Luc said in a preview for part two of the reunion, set to air on June 22.

Prior to the reunion, Jean-Luc took to social media to finally respond to fan’s theories about his relationship with Dani, who welcomed her first child in May.

“There’s a lot of gossip about my social media silence so I think it’s time to clear the air. While others are off chasing their 15 minutes of fame, I am working on a yacht in Central America,” he wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 18. “[I’m] heartbroken to have to hear about the baby’s birth on social media and read headlines, like, ‘Dani Soares Says Her Baby’s Father Doesn’t Want Anything to Do With It.’ All I can say is if it’s mine, I want to be involved 100 [percent].”

Jean-Luc continued: “As someone who grew up with parents who weren’t together, I wouldn’t wish that on any child. Not looking for a pity party. Just want everyone to know how strongly I feel about this, especially the haters who are so sure I am neglecting my responsibility. No one wants to know more than me if this is my baby girl!”

Many members of the Below Deck universe quickly responded to the post and called out Jean-Luc for not doing the right thing, including costar Sydney, who asked, “What is wrong with you?!”

“Don’t play the innocent victim here JL. Man the fuk [sic] up,” Colin added in the comments.

Season 2 chef Natasha added: “I’m sorry JL but sounds like a pity party to me. Why didn’t you reach out 9 months ago ??? No woman deserves to be treated the way you treated Danny [sic]”

While Jean-Luc didn’t appear on part one of the reunion, he was still a large topic of conversation between the crew.

“I think we blame everything on J.L. He’s not here, it makes sense, right? Anything that went wrong this season,” Glenn joked as the rest of the cast members laughed.

The Crew's Thoughts on Jean-Luc's Work Ethic

The Below Deck stars didn't hold back when they spoke about the deckhand’s absent approach to his job, with chief stew Daisy referring to Jean-Luc as "absolutely moronic" while explaining why she refused to let Dani take the blame for Jean-Luc not completing his duties during their night shifts.

Colin also opened up about his relationship with Jean-Luc throughout the season, some of which fans didn't get to see.

"I didn't specifically get on with J.L. from the start, we didn't click. But I felt like he kind of didn't want to take instructions from Gary or myself sometimes," the chief engineer said. "That was just his attitude towards work."

Captain Glenn, who applauded Sydney for her hard work in comparison, added: "He just didn't get the urgency of what is going on."

Gary's Treatment of the Women

In response to a fan question about him "being a twat to basically all the women on the boat," Gary admitted that he did feel badly about his behavior . Shortly after, all the women except Natasha raised their hand when they were asked if they felt like the bosun didn't always treat them well.

Daisy specifically called out Gary earlier in the reunion episode for the way he spoke about her when she wasn't around. "You clearly also hated me and thought that I was a giant bitch," she revealed.

Gary, for his part, clarified: "I may have said you were acting bitchy, I never said you're a bitch.”

Dani and Her Castmates Address Her Baby's Paternity

After Dani shared that Jean-Luc did not want to be involved in her pregnancy, her costars had plenty to say about the deckhand's reaction.

"She's working so hard. She's doing 12-hour days. She's trying to get herself prepared as best as she can. And it is incredibly disgusting and frustrating that [Jean-Luc] won't even acknowledge the situation," Alli responded. "My heart breaks for Dani but she is so strong. I know that she can do this without him and will be better off."

Meanwhile, Gary claimed that Jean-Luc "does not have a spine."

"For the little respect that I had for him, that's gone out the window," he added.

Gary Had a Girlfriend

Alli dropped the bombshell that Gary had a girlfriend when he joined the boat during part two of the Below Deck reunion.

"We were in a very complicated relationship. I hadn't seen her for eight months prior to me coming on the show. Not seeing someone for eight months and growing apart in those months ... do we put a label on that? No," Gary explained after the big reveal.

For Alli, this was a major reason why she felt like it wasn't fair for Sydney to be so mad about their situation with Gary.

"I did everything I could to be respectful in a situation but at the end of the day, when you sleep with someone when they are in a relationship, I feel like that voids you being able to treat me the way you treated me," Alli told Sydney.

Another Below Deck Baby

The former stew, who confirmed the news on social media before part one of the reunion aired , revealed that she was expecting a baby.

"Dani and I are pregnant at the same time. It's so cool!" Alli gushed about her exciting news.

Gary admitted that he didn't know his ex was pregnant, but said that he was happy for her.

"She told me when I spoke to her that her boyfriend treats her well and treats her like a princess, and at the end of the day as long as Alli is happy then I am happy," he added.

The Crossing Timeline

After Cohen asked about the crossing, Alli and Gary explained that they were an official couple during that period of time, but that it was never meant to last.

"It was inevitable that she was always leaving to Australia, so I think in the back of our minds we knew that we could never seriously work because of that," Gary clarified. "Regardless of the great chemistry and the ability to make each other laugh endlessly, and also finish each other's sentences."

Jean-Luc is the Father of Dani's Baby

"Let's put it this way. This baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy," Dani finally confirmed. "He hasn't supported me at all in any way. He thinks it is not his child and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it."

Dani opened up about the negativity that she saw online from people like Jean-Luc's mother and how she struggled with that.

"Obviously, I say during the whole season that I want to be a mom and have a family, but I wanted a family. That was my plan. That was my vision. I would not choose to move to a new country where I don't know anybody and choose to have a child with a 24-year-old boy that I barely knew," she emotionally revealed. "I did not plan that. I am just going with this now and I am sure my little baby girl is going to be amazing."

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Complete Guide: Updates, Cast, Seasons

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

When Below Deck sailed onto Bravo in 2013, it was a hit with fans. It quickly spawned several spin offs. Below Deck Mediterranean debuted in 2013. In February 2020, Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered.

It followed the lives of “yachties” working on a 177-foot sailing yacht called Parsifal III. This luxurious vessel cruised the Ionian Sea. If you are a newbie, or just brushing up on this franchise, this Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide has everything you need.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Cast Members

Captain Glenn Shephard has been at the helm since the series debuted . He is relaxed until pushed to the limit. During Season 2, Captain Glenn assembled a core team that returned for multiple seasons.

During Season 2, Gary King served as chief officer, and Colin MacRae was the chief engineer. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher also joined the crew. Chef Natasha De Bourg , who had a Michelin-star rating, left after the second season. The guests may have loved her food, but Daisy was critical of her skills.

Chef Ileisha Dell took over the galley during Season 4. She prepared an elaborate, and time-consuming, 10-course meal. Chef’s kiss!

Times When Below Deck Chefs Really Outdid Themselves

Memorable Moments

There have been plenty of fireworks on this franchise. And we have it all in this handy Below Deck Sailing Yacht guide. During Season 1, Chef Adam Glick and chief stew Jenna MacGillivray hit it off. Their PDA-filled “boatmance” turned off their fellow crew members.

There was baby drama after Season 2 when second stew Dani Soares announced that she was pregnant with Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux’s child. Jean-Luc requested a DNA test , which confirmed he was the father of Dani’s daughter.

And Gary participated in too many romances. During Season 2, he romanced both deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore .

Then Daisy and Gary had sex between Seasons 3 and 4. During Season 4, Daisy also hooked up with Gary’s buddy, Colin. Yet Gary continued to flirt with Daisy. Season 4 became awkward in a hurry!

Gary was also involved in another romantic entanglement with stew Mads Herrera . But she locked lips with deckhand Alex Propson , too. Season 4 absolutely delivered!

Add in some nautical accidents, too. Captain Glenn hit the dock twice during Season 2. And during Season 3, a hazardous overnight squall put everyone in danger.

All in all, there was plenty of excitement aboard Parsifal III.

‘Below Deck’ Star Barbie Pascual Knows Her Attitude This Season Was “Unnecessary”: “I See What Everybody Else Sees When I Watch Myself”

Where to stream:, ‘below deck’ exclusive clip: fraser olender shocked by primary guest’s meltdown over ice cream, andy cohen shocked after ‘below deck’ star barbie pascual shades his casting choices on ‘wwhl’: “read for filth on my own show”, ‘below deck’ exclusive clip: barbie pascual refuses to change her signature margarita recipe for fraser olender, ‘the traitors’ to return for season 3 on peacock, with alan cumming back as host.

From her controversial margarita recipe to clashing with Chief Stew Fraser Olender, Barbara “Barbie” Pascual is bringing the drama to this season of Below Deck . After one of the finest rookie appearances in recent memory on Watch What Happens Live , Pascual is gaining fans for her quick humor, easy charm, and spunky personality. As a life-long Bravo fan, the Stew had watched host Andy Cohen for years. Her guest spot on the show “felt absolutely natural” to her. “It was just like talking to a friend,” gushed Pascual.

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, by way of Atlanta and Miami, this seasoned yachtie and strong-willed Virgo has the skills to be one of Olender’s most valuable yachties, if only she could cool it on the attitude. “Now that I’m watching it back, some of my reactions and responses to things are so tough,” observed Pascual. “I now see I could have made the same point with sugar instead of all the salt I was throwing,” she admitted, adding, “I would have gone way, way further.” After a tumultuous season, Pascual revealed that she and Olender have since repaired their relationship. “A year’s gone by, and we’re a lot closer now,” said Pascual. “We found a beautiful friendship.”

Pascual also emphasized that she had no idea what was going on with her fellow Stew Cat Baugh during the charter season. “I was completely unaware,” said Pascual. “[Fraser] understood that she was struggling with insecurities and that specific situations were triggering,” explained Pascual. “If I knew then what I know now, I would have for sure pulled back.” Luckily for Pascual, she was able to bond with the deck team, a group that she called her “saving grace of the season,” especially Bosun Jared Woodin and Deckhand Kyle Stillie.

DECIDER spoke to Pascual over Zoom to talk about working with Captain Kerry Titheradge , respecting yachting hierarchy going forward, and what Real Housewives Of New York alum Jill Zarin is like as a charter guest.

DECIDER: You delivered one of the best rookie appearances of all-time on Watch What Happens Live ? Were you at all nervous?

BARBIE PASCUAL: I blacked out as soon as I walked out [laughs]. When I first saw Andy, it was a complete black out on my end. Luckily, when I got out there, it felt absolutely natural. It was just like talking to a friend. I felt like I knew Andy. I’ve seen him for so many years on TV.

You mentioned that you love the Real Housewives . What was your gateway Bravo show?

It was definitely the Housewives . I lived in Atlanta for so many years, so RHOA started it all for me.

Despite your issues at this point of the season of Below Deck , you were very complimentary of Fraser on Watch What Happens . Can you tease the trajectory of your relationship?

It’s definitely a bumpy ride. We clash a lot. A year’s gone by, and we’re a lot closer now. We found a beautiful friendship, but throughout the show and the season, we struggled a lot.

You have a fascinating, international background. What led you to a career in yachting?

I have a background in sales. I was a crazy sales girl. That changed when I moved to Miami. Everybody works on yachts there, everybody. I started dating a guy whose friend owned a yacht company. One day, he randomly needed a stew, and he asked me to jump in. So, I did and it was just the most natural thing. After that, he’s like, “you’re hired.”

We’re only a few episodes into this season of Below Deck , but how have you felt watching it back? Has it caused you to self-reflect at all?

It really has. Watching the show back, I hear it. My friends tell me all the time, “You’re so rough the way you come off.” I hear that feedback from people, but I’m just like: “Oh, I’m just being honest. And how can being honest hurt?” Now that I’m watching it back, some of my reactions and responses to things are so tough. I see what everybody else sees when I watch myself. My attitude at times is just unnecessary. I now see I could have made the same point with sugar instead of all the salt I was throwing. I would have gone way, way further.

What makes Captain Kerry different from other captains you’ve worked with in the past?

He actually listens. He actually takes the time to sit, listen, and try to understand. He doesn’t just take the word of others–like maybe Fraser or maybe a few other people–as the whole truth when there is an issue or complaint. He always wants to hear both sides of the story, which I really, really appreciate.

Fraser is obviously a very seasoned chief stew. If you had to write him a comment card with criticism on how he led the interior this season, what would be on it?

Treat everybody the same. This past episode, you see him hugging and cuddling Cat and being like “Oh, we’re gonna make it through season, girl!” Then with me, he’s like, “bring it or die!” [Laughs] The attitude that he was with me, and then with Cat is totally different. I wonder if it’s because my personality is so strong that maybe people don’t feel like they have to coddle me. Maybe because she was more sensitive, he felt like different personalities take a different kind of leadership. If he would have been nicer to me, our relationship would have been way, way easier.

I think because Fraser knew you could take criticism, he spoke to you maybe a little too bluntly at times.

But I was speaking bluntly to him. The thing that I have to learn with seniority and yachts is that you can’t speak bluntly to your chief, right? But because I think: “Okay, you’re a person. I’m a person. I’m asking for the same respect that you want.” However, I’m not allowed to ask because he’s my superior. I need to learn to just take things from the higher ups without questioning and without attitude.

What’s the best trick or tip you picked up from Fraser this season that you’ll take to your next charter?

Honestly, I started copying every single thing he did, even the way he acts when he walks up to the table with the serving tray. I started mirroring his mannerisms. We would also run up and down the stairs to see who was faster. I learned from him and filed away within myself all the high Chief Stew qualities he exemplifies. He is a quick, witty perfectionist. He really is impeccable. His work is unbelievable.

Being inexperienced, Cat had a rough start to the charter season. From what we’ve seen on the show so far, it seems like you had no idea what she had been through/ was going through at the time.

No, not then. In that moment, I was completely unaware. I didn’t get the chance to have that kind of empathy that Fraser was able to develop by sitting down and talking with her. He understood that she was struggling with insecurities and that specific situations were triggering. Since I had no idea what was going on, I wasn’t able to be like, “Okay, I have to be softer with you.” If I knew then what I know now, I would have for sure pulled back. When I found out, I definitely had a lot of empathy for her and felt terrible about how it all went down.

If Cat had come to you at the beginning and asked you for help or mentorship, would you have given her guidance?

One hundred percent. I definitely have leadership qualities in me. This season, however, I just automatically felt like the bad guy right away, so I sort of shut down. But I do have a softer side, and I do empathize with people. I do have the potential to use those qualities as a Chief Stew someday. I just wasn’t able to show it on this boat because I was in defense mode.

Was it vindicating watching Cat’s disastrous first service in front of Captain Kerry? Or did it make you understand why she was feeling so insecure?

No, it was both. Watching it all back, seeing her struggling, crying every day, and confiding in Fraser…obviously, I empathize with that. On a yacht, I’m working 18 hours a day, maybe a little less. So to watch a job that’s not getting done or not getting done right, that’s beyond frustrating. It affects the whole team. It affects the tip. It was just a really bad service, but it happens to all of us, by the way. Even the best server will have a bad night every once in a while.

Like Jared said, “Everyone wants a piece of Barbie.” Is it flattering to be the number one girl on the superyacht?

Yeah, it is definitely very flattering. I got along so well with the deck team. The deck team was my saving grace this season.

What about Jared first interested you?

When we sat down that first night with the crew, Jared was talking about how much he wants to get closer to his daughter and about his whole situation. That’s a quality in a man that is top-tier. If you want to be a good dad, and you’re trying to get closer to your daughter… what could be better?

Did his sloppy night out kill any lingering attraction?

Unfortunately, I’m really judgmental when it comes to the men I date. I hold them to the same standards I hold myself. I don’t like to be sloppy. I don’t like falling. I like to be in control. Do I sometimes get that way? Very, very rarely. However, when I see that behavior in a guy that I “like,” it’s kind of a massive red flag to me. It’s a no.

Speaking of red flags, Kyle’s massive sunburn was a giant red flag to me. Were interested in his advances or no?

I was. Kyle’s such a sweet guy. At that point during the season, I had no idea what he was saying. His Scottish accent is so thick. When you first meet Kyle, he’s so hard to understand. The first couple of weeks on the yacht, I had to ask him to repeat himself all the time. When I finally understood him, he was just such a sweetheart. He’s a really sweet guy.

I know you’re a Real Housewives fan, so I wanted to ask if you could tease anything about RHONY alum Jill Zarin’s upcoming charter trip?

So, Jill has high standards, but that’s what yachting is all about. I think that any person that lives her kind of lifestyle has high standards. Those standards make sense to me. I don’t think anything she asked for was ridiculous. I’m actually a huge fan of her homegoods line. She also has these fabulous rugs.  I wanna buy one of her rugs. After her charter, I’m still a fan of hers. She’s lovely.

Last question, if you had to give each person on the interior crew a Barbie moniker, what would it be and why?

That’s hard [laughs]! Okay, Xandi [Olivier] would be Vampire Barbie. I was definitely shocked at first by the way she calls herself a vampire. Cat would be Surf Barbie, for obvious reasons. Fraser would be… European Barbie? No, no, Fraser would be Ken, of course!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shephard has given fans a few things to discuss.

Captain Glenn quickly became a fan favorite when the hit sailing show was revamped for Season 2.

However, today, the captain has become one of the most beloved members of the Below Deck family.

Recently, Captain Glenn had Instagram buzzing after he shared a throwback photo from him as a bosun, where he was looking very serious with his sunglasses on and posed.

“Back in my Bosun days. Had a bit more hair back then 😂 No idea why I was so serious for this one 😎,” he captioned the picture.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 won’t hit Bravo airwaves until Below Deck Season 11 wraps up. The season has only just begun, with plenty more drama to play out before we get to the hit sailing show.

Here’s what else we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

While fans are anxiously waiting for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, there are a few things we know. For one, Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are back for another stint following their Season 4 rift.

How Gary will be portrayed or how involved he is in the season remains up in the air following allegations of sexual assault against him that came out after filming wrapped last summer.

Sadly, Colin MacRae won’t return for another season amid his falling out with Daisy. It’s unclear if it’s because of things that unfolded between him, Gary, and Daisy or if he simply wanted to sail his newly restored catamaran.

In other Below Deck Sailing Yacht news, Daisy has built a friendship with Hollywood A-lister Christina Appelgate .
