AU GRES BOAT CLUB

Au gres boat club association by-laws and restrictions, date august 5, 2017.

Whereas, Chester W. Schagane and W. Harry Knecht, hereinafter referred to as Proprietors, were owners of premises hereinafter described, and developed these premises into a resort community favoring boating, and

WHEREAS, Chester W. Schagane and W. Harry Knecht and John G. Neithercut organized a Michigan Non-Profit corporation known as the Au Gres Boat Club Association, and

WHEREAS, it was the desire of the original proprietors hereto and their successors and assigns that said corporation assume certain responsibilities in connection with the boating advantages offered in this development and that the use of the premises be regulated in a manner harmonious with the purpose and responsibility of said corporation.

NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually understood and agreed by and between the parties hereto, for themselves and their respective heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and by resolution of said Association which has met pursuant to the original By-laws Agreement recorded at liber 122, Pages 189-201 of Arenac County Records, that the Amended By-Laws below set forth are adopted for the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision.

Section I:  PURPOSE

The purpose of the association is to form a congenial social group to enjoy the advantages of  boating, sailing, fishing, skating, hunting, and harmonious community living as may be organized and promoted by the members of the association and which are peculiarly adapted to the location and water advantages of the property described as: Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision, according to the recorded plat thereof, Au Gres Township, Arenac County, Michigan.

Section 2:    MEMEBERSHIP / OPERATING COMMITTEE

Membership shall be upon Application made and approved by the existing Membership, and shall be divided into two (2) categories: (1) Those owning property within the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision, and (2) those not owning property within said Subdivision but adjacent to the North Subdivision Canal.  Approved Membership in the Association for those not owning property within the Subdivision shall terminate by such Member’s termination or withdrawal from the Association; provided, however, that canal usage rights and obligations shall continue thereafter pursuant to the terms and conditions of that non-Subdivision property owner Agreement (a/k/a “Lola Lane Agreement”) attached to and incorporated within the terminated or withdrawing Member’s Application for Membership, as time to time amended. 

The affairs of the Association shall be governed by the Operating Committee, who shall be elected from and by the Members qualified to vote at the annual meeting of the Membership. Committee vacancies shall be filled by a majority vote of remaining Committee members, and shall continue for the balance of the vacating Committee Member’s term.

The Operating Committee shall be comprised of four (4) Officers and three (3) Trustees.  The Officers shall be the Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Secretary and Treasurer. 

The Officers and Trustees shall serve until their successors are elected or selected as herein provided.

Section 3;            MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

3.1 The Officers and Trustees shall be elected for one year terms at the Annual Membership Meeting by a majority of members voting at the meeting. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the Operating Committee for the duration of the term. Candidates do not have to be present at the Annual Membership Meeting to be elected to the Operating Committee.

3.2 All members of the Au Gres Boat Club Association are eligible to be elected to the Operating Committee.  The Operating Committee of the AuGres Boat Club Association will consist of a Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, and Three Trustees elected from the membership.    The office of Commodore, Vice Commodore and Secretary maybe co-chaired.  If any position is co-chaired each party will have a full vote during roll call.     If there are any co-chaired positions, an additional Trustee may be essential and added to avoid a voting deadlock.

3.3 Only members in good standing may hold office, vote at the annual meeting, either in person or by proxy, or cast a proxy vote for other members. Any member who has not paid in full all dues, fees, assessments, past due liens, and interest will not be considered a member in good standing.

3.4 Special membership meetings may also be called by written request of at least seven (7) members of the association to the Operating Committee. Such meetings shall be called no later than thirty (30) days after said notification.

3.5 Au Gres Boat Club Association members casting proxy ballots shall be limited to casting no more than two proxy votes.

3.6 Members of the Operating Committee shall be allowed to attend an annual dinner meeting which will be paid for by the AuGres Boat Club Association. The cost of the dinner meeting may not exceed $40.00 per attending operating Committee member.    Members of the Operating Committee shall also be allowed to invite up to Four (4) additional Volunteering members to attend this annual dinner meeting.

Section 4:        MEMBERSHIP FEES, MAINTENANCE FUND, AND DREDGING FUND

4.1 Membership fees shall be $1.00 per year for each member, payable the first Saturday in August each year. Any renter or lessor, where the property resides within the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision, must acquire membership and pay the membership fees as a requirement of occupancy. The owner of the property must be a member of the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision and pay all membership fees, maintenance fees, and dredging fees. All fees paid to the Au Gres Boat Club Association are nonrefundable, nor will any fees paid be prorated throughout the year.

4.2 A maintenance fund shall be established and maintained by payment by each member or such other sum as the membership may deem necessary, due and payable by the first Saturday in August, the date of the meeting at which the assessment was made. Dues and fees not paid by the following November 1st will be deemed delinquent. Said funds are to be used for the general upkeep and beautification of the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision, according to the recorded plat thereof, and canals located therein.

4.3 The purpose and the administration of the maintenance fund and the dredging fund shall be decided by majority vote of the members voting at the Annual Membership Meeting of the association.

4.4 A dredging fund was established July 14, 1980, for the long term stability of the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision in the amount of $100.00 per member per annum, or such other sum as the members deem necessary. These funds will be held in an interest bearing account solely for the purpose of dredging. This fee shall be due and payable under the same terms and conditions as the maintenance fund.

4.5 Parties owning more than one parcel in the AuGres Boat Club Subdivision, which cannot be joined to form one parcel, shall pay one membership dues; and maintenance funds and dredging funds for each parcel. The member shall have one vote.

4.6 By the acceptance of a conveyance of property in said subdivision by each member, each member accepts notice of claim of lien upon the property conveyed for any unpaid maintenance fund assessments or dredging fund assessments, membership fees, and all other membership voted assessments together with interest at 1 1/2 per cent per-month compounded monthly starting with November 1st. The Association shall have all legal and/or equitable rights attendant thereto, including without limitation the right of foreclosure, as well as the right to reasonable costs and attorney fees in the event the Association proceeds with a judicial action and prevails.

4.7 It is anticipated that this association will have as members, persons who own lots in properties adjacent to the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision according to the recorded plat thereof, and specifically, the Subdivision’s North Canal.  Such persons shall complete and submit a separate Application for Membership, in recordable form, and which shall set forth an express acknowledgement and acceptance of these By-Laws, as amended, and shall ratify and confirm their grant of a lien in favor of the Association as security for their payment and satisfaction of all assessments and other obligations hereunder.  Such persons shall further and generally execute any document, and shall do or refrain from doing any act, necessary to effectuate the intents and purposes of these By-Laws and the rights and obligations conferred upon and assumed by them, respectively. 

4.8 It is also anticipated these adjacent lands will be subdivided in a manner similar to the plan of development of the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision. As these adjacent lands are platted and lots sold, owners of said lots may become members of the Au Gres Boat Club Association, and as such, will be subject to these By-Laws.

4.9 These members will be subject to the same dues and fees as all other members. Once a member of the Association they may not withdraw and then reinstate membership until they have paid in full any and all missed fees and assessments.

Section 5:        AMENDMENT OF BY-LAWS

These By-Laws may be amended and supplemented with provisions consistent with objects and purposes of the Association by a majority vote of the members of voting at any Annual or Special Membership Meeting. Notice of any proposed change to these By-Laws must be sent to the members in writing ten (10) days prior to the meeting and the proposed changes must be set forth in full in the notices.

Section 6:        OPERATING COMMITTEE

The Operating Committee shall have the power to spend up to the amount in the "annual operating fund" of the association. A membership vote would be required to borrow and/or spend any funds in excess of the "annual operating fund."

Section 7:        LITIGATION COSTS

Any Au Gres Boat Club Association Member being party as either defendant or plaintiff will be responsible for all litigation costs where the Au Gres Boat Club Association prevails.

Section 8:        PARTICIPATION IN PROBLEMS

The Au Gres Boat Club Operating Committee will review and decide if it should participate in any types of ordinance violations, disputes, disturbances, trespassing or nuisance problems, either within or pertaining to adjacent lands of the Au Gres Boat Club Association. Action will commence after a membership vote of concurrence.

BUILDING RESTRICTIONS

(Applies to Bay Ridge Drive lots only)

Section 1:        LOT OWNERSHIP AND OCCUPANCY

The owner of any estate within the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision must first become a member of the Au Gres Boat Club Association, and until such person is accepted into the membership of the Au Gres Boat Club Association, he/she may not acquire any right, title, or interest in, nor may he/she become an occupant or possessor of any lot in the AuGres Boat Club Association Subdivision. No property within the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision shall be rented, leased, given, conveyed or in any way transferred to any person not at the time of such transfer, lease, gift, or conveyance, a member of the Au Gres Boat Club Association. Any transfer, lease, gift, or conveyance directly or indirectly and whether by will or judicial proceeding or otherwise in violation of the restriction shall be void and of no effect.

Section 2:            AUTHORITY OF OPERATING COMMITTEE

Whenever hereinafter in these restrictions committee approval is required reference is made to the Operating Committee of the Au Gres Boat Club Association. Failure of this Committee to act within thirty (30) days after submission of anything for approval shall be deemed approval.

Section 3:            USE OF LOTS

3.1 Lots, with the exception of Lots 70, 71, 72, shall be used for residential purposes only. No building shall be erected, altered, placed or permitted to remain on any of the lots other than the single family dwelling and a private garage for not more than three cars. A guest house may be erected with the approval of the committee. A storage building is allowed, as so noted in 3.7. No continuous remote outdoor heating systems are allowed.

3.2 Plans and specifications for any and all improvements constructed in the subdivision shall be submitted to the Committee for approval before construction is commenced.

3.3 Any request for a variance in the size, placement, construction, or use of dwellings, garages, sheds, fences etc., shall require the approval of the Operating Committee. Upon said request the Operating Committee will give their decision within 10 working days.

3.4 All improvements shall be of approved construction. The exteriors of all vertical construction shall be completed 365 days after commencement. Single story dwellings shall have a minimum ground floor area, exclusive of porches, breezeways, and attached garages of 1150 square feet. Two story and one and one/half story dwellings shall have a minimum total 1400 square feet of floor area, exclusive of porches, breezeways, and attached garages. No dwelling can be occupied until the exterior construction is fully completed.

3.5 The proprietors have heretofore prepared a master plan for the set back residences to be constructed upon the several lots in the AuGres Boat Club Association Subdivision. All vertical construction, except as hereinafter mentioned, shall be set back according to the set back shown for each lot of said subdivision and the Master Plan. Twelve (12) feet minimum clearance will be maintained between the side lot lines and the vertical construction of the dwelling and/or garage, or other manmade objects, such as; video dishes, gas tanks, and sheds, with the exception of lots 33, 34, 35, and 36, which will be ten (10) feet minimum.

3.6 No structure of a temporary character, basement, tent, shack, garage, barn or other outbuilding shall be used on any lot at any time as a residence, either temporarily or permanently. House trailers shall be prohibited in the subdivision.

3.7 Any storage building must be constructed behind the set back lines on ones property, must be one story and is not to exceed 300 square feet of floor space. Only one such unit will be allowed upon any lot, either with or without a dwelling on the lot. The building must be of finish construction.

3.8 No building constructed elsewhere shall be moved to or reconstructed on said property, except with written approval of the Committee.

3.9 No structure, dwelling, fence, hedge, tree shall be constructed, located, or allowed to exist upon or in the front yard of any lot or parcel facing Saginaw Bay or a navigable canal which extends towards the Bay or canal further than any existing structure, dwelling, fence, hedge, tree already closest to the Bay or canal upon the adjacent lot or parcel.

3.10 All fencing on lot lines back to the set-back line shall be no more than 3 1/2 feet in height and shall be constructed of such material so as not to block the view of other property owners.

3.11 No animals, livestock or poultry of any kind shall be raised, bred, or kept on any lot except that dogs, cats, or other household pets may be kept, provided they are not kept, bred or maintained for any commercial purposes. A pet’s outside or attached enclosure is allowed, for the pet to escape either the sun’s heat or to retain heat during daylight hours from 7am to 9pm.   No overnight pet occupancy is allowed in these enclosures from 9pm to 7am.    All pets are to be leashed when outside, or within a fenced enclosure or within an underground invisible wire fence / visibly marked, or under the immediate control and "eyeful" view of the owner upon his own property. (Pets not leashed: the pet shall be kept in the view and under the control of its Owner/Master. Italics are further explanation by the Au Gres Boat Club Association attorney, Timothy R. Freel, 231 Newman St. East Tawas, MI 48730 / phone 989-362-3443)  Owner takes full responsibility for their pet's actions. When there is a noisy pet, or a pet creating a nuisance, the complainant shall give a written notice to the owner, to the Arenac County Animal Control, and the Association Operating Committee. A noisy pet or a pet creating a nuisance shall be removed.

3.12 No lot shall be used or maintained as a dumping ground for rubbish. Trash, garbage or other wastes shall not be kept except in sanitary containers. All incinerators or other equipment for the storage or disposal of such material shall be kept in a clean and sanitary condition. Burning of garbage in exterior incinerators is prohibited. Wire trash burners shall be prohibited.

3.13 Repairs, alterations, construction or building of boats or repair of motors is forbidden, except to lot owner's personal boat.

3.14 All dwellings shall be built upon foundations having footings below the frost line, or upon approved concrete floating slabs, or other materials of construction which are in accordance with township codes.

3.15 All wells shall be placed on the canal side of the lots, and all septic tanks shall be placed on the roadside of the lots. Said septic tanks shall be installed in accordance with the specifications of the State Health Department and no method of disposing of waste other than approved septic tanks shall be used. A minimum of one dual chamber tank will be installed on each lot, having a minimum capacity of 1250 gallons, before said tank is installed permits and inspections from the proper governmental authorities must be obtained.

3.16 No garage shall be constructed upon any lot until time as a dwelling is built thereon, provided, however in the event of the ownership of contiguous property, by one owner, then the garage may be constructed on a different lot than the dwelling.

3.17 Dunnage boxes may be constructed in front of the set-back line, provided that they are of approved finished exterior construction and are no higher than three and one half (3 1/2) feet, and no deeper than four (4) feet and no longer than ten (10) feet.

3.18 On all new construction the top of the foundation must be a minimum of sixteen (16) inches above the center of the road adjoining the premises; on any slab construction, the top of said slab shall be a minimum of twenty four (24) inches above the center of the adjoining road; on any new construction the top of any garage floor must be a minimum of six (6) inches above the center of the road adjoining said premises. Each lot owner will be responsible to ensure that his/her grade run off water does not drain on adjacent property.

3.19 The AGBC Storage Yard is for storage of currently used boats and their trailers, it is not a long term storage or salvage area. All watercraft required to be licensed, must be current, and their trailer or cradle must have name &/or lot number so noted. Anyone using the AGBC property - such as the pontoon boat trailer does so at his or her own risk and liability. Trailers and watercraft not upon a trailer will have the name and/or lot number of the owner upon them. Trailers without name or lot number will be removed and disposed of after being tagged for 6 months. Motor homes, travel type trailers, car and ORV type carriers, and motorized vehicles, can be stored in this area if room is available. Boats and boat trailers have priority. All AGBC property is exempt.

Section 4:          BOAT WELL METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION

4.1 Boat wells may be constructed on any lot having frontage on the water. All excavated material from such boat wells must be spread upon the remainder of the lot so as to leave the same in proper appearance and condition. None of the excavated material shall be thrown into the canals. No boat shelters or boat wells shall be erected or maintained upon canal frontage, except as otherwise herein provided. All plans for boat shelters must be approved by the Committee in writing as to the architecture and general appearance. The placement of boat wells on lots must receive the approval of the Committee.

4.2 All breakwater or sea walls shall not be higher than nine (9) inches below the grade of the residence and shall be constructed of steel, wood, or concrete spilling, and shall not encroach on the canals.

Section 5:            IMPROPER LANDING PROHIBITED

5.1 No boat shall be parked or moored or tied to any boat well landing, pier or any other landing place in such a manner as will interfere with the free and unobstructed passage of other boats through and across a canal or harbor: and no boat shall be stored on land for more than eight (8) months unless a dwelling has been previously erected. No lot may be used by non-members for waterway privileges without written consent of the Operating Committee.

5.2 AuGres Boat Club Association members may have two (2) guests boats tied or moored at their lot for a period of two (2) weeks. The Operating Committee, upon request, may approve the use of more boats and/or a longer period than two (2) weeks.

Section 6:            SPEED OF BOATS

No person shall operate a mechanically power-driven boat at a speed or in such a manner that produces a wake. Non-observance of this provision shall be deemed sufficient cause for the Committee to refuse and prevent further passage in said canal to such violator.

Section 7:            USE OF CANALS

The use of the canals within the subdivision is reserved for the members in good' standing of the AuGres Boat Club Association and for the benefit of the lands adjoining the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision where the owner of which has become a member of the association, or has agreed to a Judgment and Settlement to participate in all Maintenance and Dredging.

Section 8:        USE OF MARINE TOILETS

The use of marine toilets is expressly forbidden in the canals.

Section 10:      HUNTING ON BOAT CLUB PROPERTY

10.1     Any form of hunting upon AuGres Boat club Association property is forbidden, except for the west earth mound breakwater of the main channel leading to open water.

10.2     The area south of the south channel which is owned by the Au Gres Boat Club Association is a sanctuary for birds and other animals, so designated by the Au Gres Boat Club Association membership. Hunting is only permitted beyond the private property of the Au Gres Boat Club Association. You must be in the water or have a blind in the water to hunt close to the Au Gres Boat Club Association property.

10.3     You are allowed to travel upon the Au Gres Boat Club Association private property to get to your hunting destination if you are an Au Gres Boat Club Association member. Any Au Gres Boat Club Association member entering, passing through, or hunting upon Au Gres Boat Club Association property takes full responsibility for their actions, and releases the Au Gres Boat Club Association of any risk or liability.

10.4     Any guest(s) must be accompanied by a AuGres Boat Club Association member to and from their hunting destination or blind when traveling through Au Gres Boat Club Association property and if that blind or hunting destination is located upon the West earth mound breakwater of the main channel leading to open water -an Au Gres Boat Club Association member must accompany and be with that guest during that daily hunt -or as long as the guest hunts from that enclosure or area. Any guest hunting upon the west earth mound breakwater must have an Au Gres Boat Club Association member next to them within the blind or within ten (10) feet while hunting upon Au Gres Boat Club Association property.

10.5     Any Au Gres Boat Club Association member entering, passing through, or hunting upon Au Gres Boat Club Association property who takes a guest is fully responsible for their guest's actions, and releases the Au Gres Boat club Association of any risk or liability.

10.6     You may pursue wounded game on said Au Gres Boat Club Association property if accompanied by an Au Gres Boat Club Association member Any shooting of wounded game on Au Gres Boat Club Association property is prohibited. A dog may pursue wounded game onto said property, but must be under the owner's immediate control.

10.7     Dog training upon or utilizing Au Gres Boat Club Association property south of the south channel or from the west earth mound breakwater of the main channel leading to open water is limited to members of good standing only. You may not shoot within 450 feet of any dwelling under any circumstance. .

10.8     Any waterfowl blind constructed upon the west earth mound breakwater of the main channel leading to open water must have your name and address attached and visible at the blind in 3 inch letters and numbers. The blind must be constructed by an Au Gres Boat Club Association member and have the name of the AuGres Boat Club Association member that initiated this blind. An Au Gres Boat Club Association member will only be allowed one blind upon the west earth mound breakwater of the main channel during the year. If the Au Gres Boat Club Association member decides to move the blind from one area to another this is acceptable, and must be moved by that Au Gres Boat club Association member. Any blind not meeting these requirements will be dismantled immediately and disposed of.

10.9     A blind built upon the west earth mound breakwater of the main channel leading to open water by an Au Gres Boat Club Association member, may be utilized by any other member of the AuGres Boat Club Association on a daily first come first serve basis.

10.10   Beaching, docking or parking of boats, pontoons, watercrafts, etc. upon the shore and property of the Au Gres Boat Club Association as anyone utilizes either a blind within the water, hunts from the water, fishing or training animals etc., from the water and are not accompanied by a Au Gres Boat Club Association member will be considered a trespass violation and be handled accordingly by law enforcement. If anyone close to this watercraft denies ownership or if ownership cannot be determined that craft will be removed and impounded at owner's expense.

10.11   Blinds constructed upon Au Gres Boat Club Association property must be dismantled fifteen (15) days after the last day of waterfowl season. All references to an Au Gres Boat Club Association member - means this member must be in good standing and have paid all dues and special assessments as set forth within the Au Gres Boat Club Association By-Laws.

Section 11:      RIGHT TO PLANT & MAINTAIN VACANT AND UNIMPROVED LOTS

11.1  It shall be the responsibility of each owner, possessor, occupier or person having charge of lot or parcel in the AuGres Boat Club Association Subdivision to cut or remove and destroy all grass and noxious weeds.

11.2 Grass and weed growth on lots or parcels that are non-conforming, look unattended, ignored and exceed eight (8) inches of growth. Grass and weed growth meeting this criteria shall allow the association to enter upon any lot or parcel to cut down and destroy such grass and weeds. All expenses of such cutting or destroying, including any and all costs incurred in the removal of debris, junk or other miscellaneous obstructions which would be necessary or convenient to carrying out the cutting and destroying shall be paid by the owner of said lot or parcel.

11.3 The association is hereby granted the right to enter on or upon any lot or parcel of said subdivision that is vacant or unimproved by the owner thereof and to plant or replant, trim, cutback, remove, replace or maintain hedges, trees, shrubs, or flowers and the said association shall not, thereby, be deemed guilty of any manner of trespass. When the owner of the lot or parcel so planted or maintained shall give bona fide evidence and written notice to said association of an intention to improve same within thirty (30) days and until work on said improvements is commenced, transplant, remove or dispose of any plantings which may have been made by it. The association is hereby granted the right to enter on or upon any lot or parcel of said property to be mowed, and to charge for such service at the current rate, to owner or purchaser of said lot or parcel.

Section 12:      VIOLATIONS OF CONDITIONS

The violation of any of the restrictions or conditions or breach of any of the covenants hereby established shall also give the association or its successors in interest, the right to enter upon, after due notice, the property as to which such violation or breach exists and to summarily abate and remove at the expense of the owner thereof, any erection, object, or condition that may be or exists thereon contrary to the intent and meaning of the provisions hereof and the association shall not be deemed guilty of any trespass for such entry, abatement or removal and any expense incurred by the association to abate or remove the violation, or violations, not paid within 30 days from the date of incurring said expense shall also be accepted by the owner or purchaser as a lien upon the premises.

Section 13:        REMEDIES FOR VIOLATIONS

In the event of a violation or breach of any of these restrictions by any person or concern claiming by, through, or under the proprietors or by virtue of any judicial proceedings, the association or any of them jointly or severally have the right to proceed at law or in equity to compel a compliance with these restrictions or to prevent the violation or breach of any of them. In addition to the foregoing, the association shall have the right whenever there shall have been built on any lot in the subdivision, any structure which is in violation of these restrictions, to enter upon the property where such violation exists and summarily abate or remove the same at the expense of the owner. Such entry and abatement or removal shall not be deemed a trespass. Failure to enforce any right, restrictions, reservation or condition herein contained, however long continued, shall not be deemed a waiver of the right to do so thereafter as to the same breach or as to a breach occurring prior or subsequent thereto and shall not bar or affect its enforcement. The invalidation by any court of anyone of the said restrictions shall in no way affect the other restrictions but shall remain in full effect.

Section 14           DURATION OF RESTRICTIONS

The foregoing covenants, restrictions and conditions shall constitute an easement and servitude in and upon the lands of the Au Gres Boat Club Association Subdivision, running with the land, and shall be deemed for the benefit of all the lands in the subdivision and they shall remain in full force from August 6, 2016 to August 6, 2026, and shall be automatically extended for successive periods of ten (10) years each, unless by vote of a majority of the then owners of the lots of the Au Gres Boat Club Association, it is agreed to change them in whole or in part.

Section 15:

15.1 Specific reference to these restrictions shall be incorporated in all deeds and contracts which owners may execute and deliver conveying lots in said subdivision.

The Au Gres Yacht Club has been a part of the Au Gres community for many years. We would like to invite you to join us. Membership includes: Restaurant – Our restaurant has one of the best views of any restaurant on Saginaw Bay and the best view of any restaurant between Bay City and Alpena.  The meal selections available to you are simply the best you will find in the area.  Bar – Sit out on our deck or inside our air conditioned lounge and enjoy a drink from our members only bar. Pool – Our outdoor heated pool lets you work on your tan and then take a dip that won’t have you shivering the moment your toes touch the water. Clubhouse – Whether its just lounging in the clubhouse watching our big screen TV, playing a game of pool, catching up on the latest fishing reports, connecting to the internet through our WiFi or just visiting with friends, the clubhouse is available to you.  Activities – We have a full schedule of activities for our members.  Dinghy runs, Poker Runs, Fishing Tournaments, Wine Tastings, Golf Outings, Game Nights, etc are some of the activities our members enjoy during the season.

Facilities - There is a fuel dock and marine store adjacent to our club. 

The AuGres Yacht Club community has grown to include more than 300 slips, condominiums, homesites, clubhouse, boat storage and marine store.

All slips at the AuGres Yacht Club have been sold as condominium slips. Slip rentals for seasonal and overnight are available. The slips range in size from 28' to 50'.

There is a clubhouse and heated in-ground swimming pool for those who wish to join the club.

There is a full-service marine store which caters to the AuGres Yacht Club community and the public.

Water depths from the AuGres Yacht Club to Saginaw Bay have always allowed for normal business activity and boating has continued unimpeded even in times of low water.

With the growing need for winter storage and service, Bayside Boat Storage was started in 1987 storing just 40 boats in the first year. Current storage capacity is over 200 boats.

The AuGres Yacht Club gives Bayside Boat Storage a stable customer base year- to - year along with boaters coming from Tawas, Oscoda, Harrisville, Caseville, Bay City and surrounding marinas. With the continued support of our loyal boating enthusiasts and the addition of new boaters and their families each year, the AuGres Yacht Club community continues to grow!

While you are in-town stop by the park and let the kids enjoy playing in the water from 11am - 8pm starting on the Friday of Memorial Weekend and going through Labor Day!! No fee, just push the BLUE BUTTON to activate the water and then sit back and enjoy!

ALSO — DID YOU KNOW: Au Gres Riverside Park offers Public Boat slips which can be used for the day and overnight!! Just take a drive up the Au Gres River, dock your boat and plan to go out to eat or come play at the splash pad/playscape or utilize our fish cleaning station! Haven't caught your limit for the day?! No problem — we offer a barrier-free fish free fishing pier on-site. We also have public restrooms for your convenience!

Our daily boat tie up for less than 6 hours is free, our overnight rates do apply (see below), please call City of Au Gres Riverfront Campground at 989-876-8310 to reserve your spot for this season!

We would love to have you visit our City and parks by docking your boat at Au Gres Riverside Park. We see this as a great location which is centrally located in our downtown area that offers something for everyone; a splash pad & playscape for the kids, farm market for shopping and a fish cleaning station for fishing groups. Also on-site, our Riverside Park pavilion, which is available for rent! A great venue for birthday parties, family gatherings etc. It is a very popular rental site with a very reasonable fee of $35 for 3 hours. If you have any questions The City of Au Gres Parks part-time crew maintains the park, buildings and lot and we are here to help.

Au Gres Water Tower

City of Au Gres Riverfront Campground  has 109 camp sites available for daily, weekly, monthly or seasonal rates. All major credit cards are accepted. Call 989-876-8310 for questions or reservations can be made online at http://cityofaugrescampground.com/reservations/. Inside the City Park, facilities for public to use include tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball court, baseball/softball fields, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and children’s playground and lighted riverfront walkway. All sporting equipment must be provided by patrons.

Owned by the City of Au Gres, the Au Gres Riverside Park is located on the Au Gres River at the US-23 Bridge in downtown Au Gres.  The Park, which was once a "harbor of refuge" was deemed a harbor of refuge for boats to tie up in case of emergency but facilities were closed. The Riverside Park not only offers, boat docks but also a Riverside Water Pad and Playscape for the kids. The Park is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, campground, ice cream, wine tasting shop and so much more!  There is a total of 30 boat slips.
