Delta Powerboats

History of Delta Powerboats

Founded in 2003, luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats is managed by a trio of Swedes: Principal Owner Lennart Alpstål, Senior Designer Lars Modin and Sales and Marketing Manager Karl Wessel. The shipyard’s mission statement is, “to be a leader in boat design, innovation and sustainability”. Designed for operation in the islands as well as in freshwater lakes, Delta Powerboats are seaworthy and offer excellent fuel economy. Over the years, luxury yacht builder Delta Powerboats has developed ten boat models, including smaller models built in composite and the high-tech, carbon-fibre Delta 54 and Delta Yacht at the upper end of the range. As the latest result of the Delta Powerboats / Mannerfelt Design partnership, the 48 benefits from the experience of our previous projects and combines features from both the Open and Coupé series.

Generous deck arrangements allow guests to enjoy multiple exterior lounges and sun beds or seek shelter within an enclosed saloon with panoramic 360 degrees view. Sliding aft- and side doors blur the boundaries between the inner and outer decks and due to the large electrical roof top the 48 easily adapts to changing weather. Below deck the interior accommodates six guests across three cabins where the owner occupies a forward master stateroom with generous storage and en suite bathroom.

FEIG ELECTRONIC: Moscow-City Skyscrapers Streamline Parking Access and Control with Secure RFID

Weilburg, Germany  — December 3,  2019  —  FEIG ELECTRONIC , a leading global supplier of radio frequency identification (RFID) readers and antennas with fifty years of industry experience, announces deployment of the UCODE DNA RFID security and parking contactless identification solution in the Moscow International Business Center, known as Moscow-City, one of the world’s largest business district projects.

The management of Moscow-City not only selected long-range, passive UHF RFID to implement in its controlled parking areas, it also chose to implement UCODE DNA , the highest form of secure RAIN RFID technology, developed by NXP Semiconductors.

“Underscoring NXP’s innovation and leadership in developing advanced RAIN RFID technologies, our UCODE DNA was chosen to be incorporated with the FEIG and ISBC implementation of the contactless identification system in the prestigious Moscow-City,” said Mahdi Mekic, marketing director for RAIN RFID with NXP Semiconductors. “This exciting project represents yet another successful deployment of NXP’s contactless portfolio, and showcases our continued ability to meet the high-security requirements of highly demanding applications without compromising user convenience.”

“UCODE DNA is considered the only identification technology to match the physical protection of a barrier with the cybersecurity necessary to truly protect entrances from unauthorized access,” said Manuel Haertlé, senior product manager for FEIG Electronic. “As a respected contactless payment technology company, FEIG applies security know-how from its payment terminals, which are fully certified according to the latest high-class security standards, into our RFID systems. FEIG vehicle access control RFID readers incorporate advanced secure key storage elements, supporting various methods for secure key injection.”

FEIG’s partner ISBC Group provided the knowledge and support for this successful implementation using  FEIG’s long-range UHF RFID . The resulting system enables authorized vehicle entry into areas reserved for private residential use or corporate tenants, while also allowing availability of temporary, fee-based visitor parking. Thanks to the cryptographic authentication of UCODE DNA, both the tag and reader must go through an authentication procedure before the reader will validate the data from the tag, which is transmitted wirelessly. This level of authentication is typically used in the most secure data communication networks.

“The system’s two-step authentication means that only authorized equipment can handle the secure protocol and the data exchange with the UCODE DNA based tag. Without the required cryptographic secrets, other readers would query the tag in vain, because the tag’s response cannot be interpreted or understood,” said Andrey Krasovskiy, director of the RFID department at ISBC Group. “On top of this, each data exchange in the authentication process is unique, so even if a malicious actor were to intercept the communication, the transmission is only good for a single exchange and the tag’s unique identity is protected from cloning.”

Established in 1992 and still growing, Moscow-City is the revitalization and transformation of an industrial riverfront into a new, modern, vibrant and upscale business and residential district. A mix of residential, hotel, office, retail and entertainment facilities, it is located about four kilometers west of Red Square along the Moscow River. Twelve of the twenty-three planned facilities have already been completed, with seven currently under construction. Six skyscrapers in Moscow-City reach a height of at least 300 meters, including Europe’s tallest building, Federation Tower, which rises more than 100 stories.

Great location and great value for such a nice hotel in Moscow. Close to metro and train station, there are many shops and restaurants around. Beautiful park and Izmailovo Kremlin. I would really advice to stay there if you're visiting Moscow.

I had read reports elsewhere about poor staff attitudes. My experience is to disagree. I found the staff polite and friendly. I thank them. I had a room on the 20th floor, a little detail, but the lifts are allocated to serving a dedicated range of floors. This meant that the wait for a lift was always rather short - a little thing, but so, so nice. The view over Izmailovo Park and the lake was great, although some idiots in cars where practicing handbrake turns around 10pm. Given their negligible ability I would suggest that they do so somewhere less public. This might annoy some guests however the a/c was efficient and there is really no need to open a window. Thank you too for curtains that really do black the room out. This helps guarantee a good night's sleep. Overall a pleasant room; nice facilities and very well priced. Access to the metro and Moscow Central Circle are great and this was a primary factor for me. I will stay again.

Great hotel! Excelent price for what you get. Very clean and the room was very cozy and beautiful. Very warm in a room during the winter months :-) Breakfast was very well. Near the metro, a few minutes near. The center is 10 minutes drive by the metro so the location is great. There are a several shops with food and goods.

Actually everything was pretty spot on ...nice place nice staff ...even tho I managed to book the wrong room ( twin instead of double ) they swiftly managed to change that for me . Huge breakfast ,loads bars and restaurants also !

Clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, view from the room on the lake - amazing, location - 1 min walking to metro station with direct line to Red Square / city center (10-15 min with metro). The price of this hotel is much more cheaper than if we would book a hotel in the city center. Highly advising this hotel as a budget alternative.

The location was very good, with lots of convenient locations around - metro, izmailovo Kremlin, izmailovo park, a pharmacy at the hotel, a supermarket close by and some restaurants (mostly fast food). The staff also came promptly to fix the lock in my room which wasn't working, really awesome! They also provided 2 bottles of drinkable water every

hotel is 4 star and prices are super good. i booked only for one day and now i booked for 2 more days .

Clean, efficient , good service , good restaurants, helpful staff, good air conditioner close to metro Partizanskaja.

Reviving classic Russian cuisine

Roads & Kingdoms talks to Russian chef Vladimir Mukhin of Moscow’s super-restaurant, White Rabbit.

Still in his mid-30’s, Vladimir Mukhin is already one of Russia’s best known chefs and the leading culinary light of the White Rabbit Group, which has 16 restaurants around the country. The most well-known of these, Moscow’s  White Rabbit , was named one of the 50 best restaurants in the world last year. Roads & Kingdoms’ Nathan Thornburgh talked to Mukhin in Moscow about being a fifth-generation chef, reviving classic Russian cuisine, and finding good product in the age of embargoes.

Nathan Thornburgh: Tell me about White Rabbit, what is the food? What are you trying to accomplish there?

Vladimir Mukhin: The White Rabbit is a big restaurant. We’re trying to revive Russian cuisine. I’m a fifth-generation chef, so I’m passionate about the food we create. During the Soviet Union period, we killed Russian food. Classic Russian recipes became too simplified. For example, usually you drink tea, but if you want to be, just to be creative, want to make the tea with milk, you can’t. It would be like stealing milk from the government. People went to jail.

When I was growing up, I remember my grandfather coming to the kitchen and crying because he couldn’t experiment with his food.

Thornburgh: Wow. I remember this famous photo session with Che Guevara which came up with some of his best pictures, maybe two incredible iconic portraits came from an entire roll of film, and the photographer went to him and showed him this roll of film and Che said, What the hell are you doing? You wasted all of these images. You took 30 pictures to get one? That’s the government’s film. It’s a similar mentality.   So you’re telling the story of a kind of cuisine that was lost on the Soviet history and now you’re playing with this idea of finding it again. What does your process look like? Do you get as many grandmothers as you can round up and just kind of shake recipes out of them? How were you doing this?

Mukhin: I just try to work with as many local farmers and producers as I can, so we can use as many Russian ingredients as we can.

Thornburgh: So this is a close relationship.

Mukhin: Yes. I traveled throughout Russia—not just the big cities, but also the villages to talk with older people.

Thornburgh: You know I think people don’t understand the vastness of Russia, and how big it’s collection of cultures and languages and cuisines is. What parts of the country influences your food?

Mukhin: I’m inspired by the whole country. It’s a big territory, and sometimes it feels like it’s too big. I try and use different techniques and ingredients from all over the country, which I think makes my menus distinct.

We have an a la carte menu with about 50 dishes of classical Russian food. Everything looks modern because I’m a young chef. But if you close your eyes and try these dishes, you’ll taste 100% classic Russian flavors.

I want to highlight all aspects of Russian cuisine. Before the Olympic Games in Sochi, we opened a restaurant there, not just to make money, but to expose people visiting for the Olympics to Russian food. That’s why we opened The Red Fox restaurant. It’s all about Russian ingredients.

Thornburgh: Sochi, at least when I’ve been there, is like a Miami Beach. It’s like a place to get pizza and sushi, and go to the nightclubs.

Mukhin: You been?

Thornburgh: Yeah.

Mukhin: It’s crazy.

Thornburgh: It’s a little crazy, but it’s interesting to bring in Red Fox and sort of say okay, because people are coming out, let’s bring Russia to Sochi.

Mukhin: It was incredible. We had thousands of visitors at the restaurant.  

Thornburgh: So you really looked internally for inspiration. Did working outside of Russia motivate you to focus on Russian cuisine?

Mukhin: Yes. I spent time working in Avignon, France. I worked with Christian Etienne, and he would make a special Russian meal once a year.  It was crazy.

Thornburgh: How was the food?

Mukhin: It was shit. I told him that I would cook real Russian food for him, and I did. I cooked borscht, blinis, and other classics. He liked it and said that once a year we should use my recipes, but with his influence. I agreed, and we went on to make amazing food. Eventually, I wanted to come back to my motherland. So I left and I started working on making White Rabbit a reality.

Thornburgh: When people go to White Rabbit, what are they going to find?

Mukhin: Someone once told me that there is a new Russian cuisine and an old Russian cuisine. I think Russian cuisine is going through an evolution. So I hope people will come and see evolution at White Rabbit.
