Excellent hotel but terribly noisy at weekends.

First of all the positives (and there are so many). Breakfast is buffet style and of high quality. Eggs made fresh to your requests is a nice touch. All staff members were fantastic. The pool and surrounding steam rooms/sauna facility is absolutely brilliant and included in the price. Perfect location. We had a superior room as it was my 40th birthday and the room itself was good without being anything particularly special. Bed was comfortable and had a large screen tv in the room. Nice size bath. Air con quite noisey and not particularly effective and the outside space/view was a table between you and a wall so not great but we were never going to use that in March so no problem. There is one huge negative and that is the noise on Friday & Saturday evening. There's a very busy bar/nightclub on site and the noise of the music makes sleep simply impossible. When I say noise it's not voices etc you can here, it's the bass music, it's like having drums in your room and it goes on until 2am. This is clearly an issue to many guests because I've since read about it on here and spoke to guests about it at the hotel. Obviously people must complain every weekend but I suppose the business model takes this into account and financially it must be worth some unhappy customers. But it's important that anybody who's staying... First of all the positives (and there are so many). Breakfast is buffet style and of high quality. Eggs made fresh to your requests is a nice touch. But it's important that anybody who's staying here and not planning on being out until the early hours understands this issue so they can plan their weekend stay accordingly. To summarise, if you are coming Sun-Thurs then I genuinely can't recommend this place enough. If you're planning on going out partying or aren't bothered about the noise then again this is such a great place to stay. But if you don't fall into this category and want a peaceful night's sleep on the weekend then I'm afraid it's not going to happen here. Such a shame for me as otherwise its an easy 5/5. More

The hotel is in a very good location although there is nowhere to park. The room is clean and spacious and breakfast was also lovely. However at check out we were told “housekeeping reported you drank a G&T, that’s £8.50”. We don’t drink and said there was a mistake. The lady said ok and 10 mins after we left, the 8.50 was deducted from our card. I rang the hotel 3 times to complain and each time was told they needed to investigate the matter as they were certain the drink had been taken from the mini bar. It’s not the money but the principle of being treated like a liar or a thief. In the end I gave up, never had my money back for the drink I didn’t have and didn’t even receive an apology or a call back. Never been treated like this in a hotel before. Stay clear.

Lovely hotel with really helpful staff who were very attentive and a credit. Good breakfast with eggs cooked to order how you like. Allowed us to check in early as had a room ready which was fantastic. Disappointment was that at the weekend one of their bars which was right underneath the balcony of our superior room (which are more expensive rooms) was very noisy until 1am, got the impression its a young locals bar at weekends and was very lively which didn't really match the image of the hotel which seemed traditional and quiet as were the guests so it was a mismatch for me. Due to noise couldn't open the doors and the aircon was noisy and never got the room that cool anyway. There is also a nightclub in the hotel which was further away but could still hear the bass thumping until 2. Bought earplugs for the second night so got some sleep. Overall really nice hotel but I feel like they are trying to do and be everything which is confusing. Didn't expect that so early in the year and wished I'd researched the hotel more. There was a quieter bar The Cabin which just became a restaurant in the evening and another lounge bar which had no atmosphere at all, adjacent to the lounge bar was a function going on so we felt like we didn't belong there. Ended up at a neighbouring hotel with a classy cocktail bar second night, seemed more in keeping with the image they were portraying. I'm just not sure what this one wants to be which was a shame.

Lovely clean hotel with excellent staff - particularly the restaurant manager (Scirocco Breakfast Restaurant) and his team - super efficient and attentive ensuring guests have the best experience. Unfortunately we discovered that on the third floor, where our lovely twin room was, rave type music is a constant at night, into the small hours. Unreasonably noisy and louder as you lay in bed, as it seemed to amplify the. The room was also excessively hot and although we asked for the heating to be turned off, it remained too hot. A real shame as we based our choice on the hotel’s high scoring reviews. We heard from our taxi driver on the way to the airport that the hotel has a nightclub in it and that would explain the rave music. Not a hotel to stay at if a quiet night’s sleep is required.

Thoroughly enjoyed a Birthday getaway for three nights at the Royal Yacht ..Highly recommend this Hotel The staff were well trained, polite at all times , quick service and great atmosphere ! We enjoyed a few meals which were excellent and reasonably priced for Jersey which has more recently become more expensive ! Quick service.... Reception staff very attentive Rooms very comfortable and clean Highly recommend this Hotel and central to visiting Jersey sites. Unfortunately for us most tours were closed at this time of year but will return at some point

We were treated to a fabulous overnight stay in Mooncatcher, one of the two penthouse suites. If you like sunset views over the harbour, chilled champagne or espresso in the hot tub then you’ll love it as much as we did. Beautiful bed linen, spacious lounge and soft, fresh linen and towels. The pool/spa can be busy, so get in early then return to your suite hot tub. Fresh fruit and petals on the bed added to this special occasion. Easy access to great local restaurants like Botana or Rigatoni and sumptuous breakfast in the Sirocco restaurant with polite, professional waiters. The Yacht is in the heart of town, so expect some traffic/people noise but you’re up high so it didn’t bother us.
