ROBERT ‘ROBBIE’ SARGENT Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember. A well-appointed 2022 Lagoon Sixty7, C’est La Vie offers bespoke luxury in 2 spacious Queen cabins and a massive master cabin, each with en-suite washrooms and plenty of living space. Topside you will find multiple sun beds, loungers and wet bars aplenty. Her crew of 3 leaves no need unmet; offering decades of combined professional experience to create a seamless, customized and highly interactive encounter. No finer culinary experience can be found ashore or afloat, as chef Sofia provides a rich understanding of all things epicurean while undertaking the constant search for the finest and freshest ingredients. Captain Robbie will keep you feeling at ease, with his unassuming, patient approach and his dry wit. Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. Born and raised in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe, Sofia’s love for water originated whilst growing up as a national swimmer and waterpolo player. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember. Kirsten, a native of South Africa, grew up enjoying the pleasant climate and taking part in various outdoor activities, such as photography, swimming, and showjumping. She excelled in golf and earned several titles and a place on provincial teams before scuba diving captured her imagination during her first dive in the ocean. She attended the University of Johannesburg where her studies in Industrial Design deepened her appreciation of the ocean ecosystem and sparked a passion for developing projects to address ocean conservation. As her interest in photography shifted to the underwater world, she found herself drawn to a non-traditional career and pursued full-time work in diving and sailing. She honed her skills in Tuna fishing and spearfishing while working for a fishing charter company in Cape Town. Today, her love for the ocean and marine life remains one of her greatest passions. Robbie, Sofia, and Kirsten Happy New Year!!! You three are an amazing team that exceeded so many of our expectations for this trip. We cam e as two families but are leaving as a family with 3 new additions ( you guys). Together we started our days off, ate together, played together, explored together, relaxed together, joked and played music together, watched sunrises and sunsets and re-generated our ´batteries´ so we can head home to work and think about how to get right back to the islands. You each bring so much life, adventure, and top notch service to create a special environment for us. This is certainly a trip we will NEVER forget. If you are ever in the states near Washington D.C. please look us up... we´d be so happy to treat you to some of what makes our home special. Truth be told, I am at a loss for words with thoughts on our C’est La Vie experience. When people have inquired, I’ve simply said “THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME.” The boat - wow! Exceeded our expectations. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The room accommodations were more spacious with higher quality fixtures, bedding, lighting, A/C, electricity, storage than expected. Very very nice! The availability of comfy deck seating and water sport toys was awesome. Organization, cleanliness and attention to detail was top notch. The crew - not even sure where to begin…. Robbie and Sofie went above and beyond to make our vacation super special. It was obvious that they had read and digested our preference form, and made sure the food, beverages, schedule were tailored to our party. Story time with Robbie, drink of the day prepped/served by Hannah, and the five-star meals made and served by Sofie were cherished daily delights. We are all seriously missing Sofie - she is a treasure! This vacation was simply PERFECT and we are tremendously grateful for you and the crew making it so special. NYE 2022 BVI Charter

I could not have imagined a better trip for our family. We will be forever grateful for your care of us from the wonderful meals, to the itineraries, and of course the water sports adventures. All the boys were able to do and enjoy exactly what they wanted on this fabulous boat. We couldn´t have been more comfortable. The rooms are so well appointed, the boat trip was so fun, and the meals-better than any restaurant. It is hard for us to leave. Colt learned so much and will forever be called ´Sea-bob.´ George and I were able to recharge our batteries to start the new year. Our New Year´s Eve will forever be a top memory. You took such care of our family from planning our itinerary to dealing with the unexpected true hospitality. They were most attentive and went out of their ways to make sure we had everything we needed and catered, when necessary. I had a bruised ankle and fell and injured that same ankle toward the beginning of the trip. They still catered to my inability to take more dingy trips. They were there to give me more than adequate support (my, they both are so STRONG). The food was awesome, and we expressed our desire (with everyone on our boat) that we´d pay for a recipe book for all that we ate. Sofie prepared it with the love and expertise desired by TradeWinds, and Robbie was a perfect 1st Mate in the kitchen. He was a perfect Captain, while Sofie was the perfect 1st Mate otherwise. They are well-trained and completely socially compatible with each other and all of us. If my husband and I were more water sports enthusiasts and younger, we might have enjoyed it even more. Entertainment

Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water.

Born and raised in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe, Sofia’s love for water originated whilst growing up as a national swimmer and waterpolo player. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized.

Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe.

As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember.

Kirsten, a native of South Africa, grew up enjoying the pleasant climate and taking part in various outdoor activities, such as photography, swimming, and showjumping. She excelled in golf and earned several titles and a place on provincial teams before scuba diving captured her imagination during her first dive in the ocean. She attended the University of Johannesburg where her studies in Industrial Design deepened her appreciation of the ocean ecosystem and sparked a passion for developing projects to address ocean conservation. As her interest in photography shifted to the underwater world, she found herself drawn to a non-traditional career and pursued full-time work in diving and sailing. She honed her skills in Tuna fishing and spearfishing while working for a fishing charter company in Cape Town. Today, her love for the ocean and marine life remains one of her greatest passions.

C'est La Vie is 2022 Lagoon catamaran that is the perfect yacht for 6 guests to enjoy a luxury crewed yacht charter around the British Virgin Islands. Its modern design creates a homely, yet spacious feel whether you are in the saloon or out on the deck. All three luxurious queen guest cabins have their own bathrooms. The outside areas provide various spots to relax, take in the sun or enjoy a cocktail with family and friends. There are a variety of water toys available on C'est La Vie and with diving available on board, everyone is guaranteed to enjoy their charter!

Children 15 and under receive a $500 discount.

Prices include: All services, food and standard bar, all water sport activities, taxes and cruising licence fees.

Extra costs are: Vintage wines, champagne, special requests, dockage, harbour dues, onboard communications, airport transfers and crew gratuity.

Crew Gratuity: Although discretionary, a crew gratuity of 20% of the charter fee is customary.

Payment conditions: 50% of the charter rate within 7 days of signing the charter agreement, remaining 50% plus VAT plus APA, at least 5 weeks before the beginning of the charter.

Robert ‘robbie’ sargent.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favourite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water.

Their combined passion for food, travel, and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe.

As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have the adventure to remember.

Charter Rates

Luxury Crewed Charter Rates

The Horizon Yacht Charters BVI Crewed Charter rates are for 7 nights per vessel and are based on the number of guests. Please see individual yacht pages for detailed specifications and charter rates. Horizon Yacht Charters luxury crewed yacht charters come complete with your own personal Captain & Chef (and in the larger yachts, first mate and hostess).  NB some yachts may be skipper only (with the option of a chef) – they are stated as such. Your meals aboard are included in the rate and prepared to your group’s individual preferences and dietary requirements. Beverages are also included but please note special requests for specific brands may be subject to an additional charge.  Watersports equipment (such as paddleboards, kayaks etc) are also included and some yachts offer all-inclusive diving.

High season rates typically apply from December to April, and Low season from May to November, but please do check the seasonal rates for your yacht.

Each individual crewed yacht may charge for certain additional expenses (e.g. National Park Permit, Cruising permit, different port collections or departures).  Please ask for a full breakdown of costs for your chosen yacht. Additional supplements may apply at Christmas and New Year.

All yachts come with tenders with outboards and safety equipment. Please review the individual yacht specification on our website for further details of available equipment and details of inclusions and exclusions.

Yacht photographs and specifications act as a guide and are for information purposes only.  Although we endeavour to ensure that images are accurate reflections of the yachts in our fleet, certain aspects may vary slightly.

Please note that our bareboat repeat client discount does not apply to our crewed charter fleet.

Supplements to the published rates may apply during Christmas and New Year periods. Please contact us for confirmation of rates.

Charter Rates shown above are for 7 nights per vessel (Christmas and New Year supplements on selected yachts). Crewed Charters usually start at noon and finish at noon, but please do check times for your particular yacht.

• Additional water-sports  (other than those included on the crewed yacht) are all available at competitive rates.
• Hotel Accommodations  throughout the islands can be arranged. Most major credit cards accepted.  Please check our Accommodations page for more information.

An Environmental levy of $10 per head is payable by all visitors to the BVI on arrival (effective 1st Sept 2017).

Bookings and Cancellations  – We require a 50% deposit to confirm the reservation and the balance due of 50% no later than 45 days prior to charter start date. A smaller deposit and interim fee may be acceptable for bookings made more than 12 months in advance. Cancellation fees apply, and vary from yacht-to-yacht. Please check the specific terms for your yacht at the time of booking.

Lagoon 67ft - 2022

C'est la vie, yacht description.

C’est La Vie is a Lagoon 67ft power cat and is really sleek and sexy looking. There is tons of space both above and below decks for up to 8 people. Layout is 4 queen cabins with the master cabin offering a seating area and a separate shower and toilet, it also has an additional cockpit entrance. The other three cabins are pretty nice too! Each has a walkaround bed, lots of natural light and there is good headroom throughout.

Outside, the comfortable flybridge on the upper deck is the perfect place for canapes and cocktails, plus an aft deck cockpit which has outdoor dining and comfortable seating and also a platform at the back of the boat that can be hydraulically lowered so you can dabble your feet! Whatever you want to do – have peace and quiet reading, jumping up and down on the trampoline or enjoying the 360-degree views from the flybridge – you have the space.

As Liv said you exceed our expectations in every way possible and we can never thank you all enough for these memories. Truth be told, I am at a loss for words with thoughts on our C’est La Vie experience. When people have inquired, I’ve simply said “THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME”.

The boat – wow! Exceeded our expectations. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The room accommodations were more spacious with higher quality fixtures, bedding, lighting, A/C, electricity, storage than expected. Very very nice! The availability of comfy deck seating and water sport toys was awesome. Organization, cleanliness and attention to detail was top notch.

The crew – not even sure where to begin… Robbie and Sofie went above and beyond to make our vacation super special. It was obvious that they had read and digested our preference form, and made sure the food, beverages, schedule were tailored to our party. Story time with Robbie, drink of the day prepped/served by Hannah, and the five-star meals made and served by Sofie were cherished daily delights. We are all seriously missing Sofie – she is a treasure!

This vacation was simply PERFECT and we are tremendously grateful for you and the crew making it so special. We look forward to the next time aboard C’est La Vie!

Rendezvous diving

If your crewed charter yacht does not offer onboard diving then fear not, rendezvous diving can be arranged.

So what is Rendezvous diving?

A local dive company will pick you up direct from your charter yacht at a pre-determined location and take you for a one- or two-tank dive to experience the BVI below the water. This is an excellent option if only a couple of guests wish to dive or can work equally as well if all your group are interested. If your charter yacht offers minimal onboard diving, then rendezvous diving can also work if you wanted to add a few more dives during your charter.

Rendezvous diving is at additional cost, payable locally. The dive company provides all gear.

ROBERT ‘ROBBIE’ SARGENT Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Stary Oskol is a city in Russia located in the Belgorod region, standing on the banks of the Oskol River, about 142 km northeast of Belgorod, 632 km south of Moscow.

The population of Stary Oskol is about 222,600 (2022), the area - 134 sq. km.

History of stary oskol.

In 1300, there was a village called Ugly on the the territory of the present city. Today, it is one of the districts of Stary Oskol. At that time, the village was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and was a border crossing point on the border with the Golden Horde.

The settlement of Oskol was founded by Russian Tsar Fyodor Ioanovich’s order (Ivan’s the Terrible son) to protect the southern borders of the Russian kingdom in 1593. The bulk of the population were peasants and the military.

In 1617, the town was burned by the Poles. In 1625, 1642 and 1677, the Crimean Tatars approached Stary Oskol, but could not capture it. The town was renamed Stary Oskol (meaning Old Oskol) in 1655, when the town of Tsaryov-Alexeyev, located down the river, was renamed Novy Oskol (New Oskol). Fortifications of the town existed until the 18th century.

More Historical Facts…

Gradually, Stary Oskol turned into peaceful, commercial and merchant town - the center of an agricultural district. Industrial production was represented mainly by enterprises on processing agricultural products.

In 1780, the town got its coat of arms. In 1784, Stary Oskol like most Russian towns of that time was rebuilt according to a new plan signed by Empress Catherine II. A large number of brick houses were built, mostly two-story buildings. The historic center of Stary Oskol has been preserved to our time.

In the second half of the 19th century, the town had a wide network of schools, libraries, reading rooms, printing, secondary schools. In 1894, construction of the railway began, trade and industry began to develop rapidly.

Until the 1930s, there were eleven Orthodox churches in Stary Oskol. During the Second World War, Stary Oskol was occupied by the Germans from July 2, 1942 to February 5, 1943. In 1954, the city became part of the newly formed Belgorod region.

In the late 1960s - early 1970s, in connection with the active development of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (the most powerful iron ore basin in the world), Stary Oskol became a major center of iron and steel industry.

Stary Oskol was declared a city of three top-priority Komsomol construction projects. The largest enterprises: Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant, Stoilensky Mining and Processing Plant, Oskolsky Electrometallurgical Plant became not only the city-forming enterprises, but also the largest industrial enterprises of the country. Stary Oskol experienced a new birth.

Today, Stary Oskol is a rapidly developing city, one of the leading mining and metallurgical centers of Russia.

Stary Oskol - Features

The coat of arms of Stary Oskol is a shield divided in half diagonally, in the red field there is a rifle, in the green field - a golden plow. It reflects both military and agricultural importance of the town.

Stary Oskol is among Russian cities with the youngest population. The average age of its citizens is about 35 years. The main reason lies in the history of the city. In the second half of the 20th century, a large number of members of the Young Communist League came to Stary Oskol to participate in the construction of large industrial enterprises.

Unique reserves of iron ore, developed industry and infrastructure, high scientific, technical and industrial potential, fertile land form the basis of Stary Oskol economy.

The main branches of local industry are mining, ferrous metallurgy, machine building and metalworking, building materials, food industry. There are more than 140 large and medium industrial enterprises, which employ more than 80 thousand people.

Attractions of Stary Oskol

The city has more than a dozen Orthodox churches and chapels. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Tokareva Street, 4/1) is the main church of Stary Oskol. St. Trinity Church (Bolshevistskaya Street, 17/15), built in 1730, is the oldest church in the city.

The Zoo was opened in Stary Oskol in 2008. Bears, lions, tigers, monkeys, wolves, camels, ostriches, and other species of birds and animals live there.

Museum of Local Lore (Lenina Street, 50). The museums, founded in 1923, has exhibitions about the history of Stary Oskol. It is located in a building which is a monument of history and culture of the 19th century once owned by the merchants and brothers Likhutins.

The museum organizes tours of the city and the area including visits to an ancient Russian settlement of Kholki, an underground monastery in Melovy mountains, and a biosphere reserve “Yamskaya steppe”.

Art Museum (Lenina Street, 57). The collection of local masters of folk clay toys (O.M.Goncharova and N.M.Goncharova) is a real pearl of the museum. Stary Oskol folk clay toys production was known from the end of the 18th century.

House Museum of Vasily Yeroshenko (Yeroshenko Street, 15). Yeroshenko’s life is a living legend for blind people not only in Russia but also abroad. He encourages disabled people, supports them with his talent, helps them on their ways to improve techniques. Yeroshenko spoke 12 foreign languages and was the professor of universities in Tokyo and Beijing, he became a classic of Japan literature for children.

La doctrine du « rien à voir, circulez » se fissure en Russie . Moscou a annoncé ce lundi avoir évacué plusieurs centaines d’habitants de Belgorod. C’est une première en près de deux ans de conflit pour cette grande ville proche de l’Ukraine et cible dernièrement d’une intensification des tirs des forces de Kiev .

« Environ 300 habitants de Belgorod, qui ont décidé d’être évacués temporairement, sont maintenant hébergés dans des centres d’accueil à Stary Oskol, Goubkine et dans le district de Korotchansky », des zones plus éloignées de la frontière, a déclaré le gouverneur régional Viatcheslav Gladkov dans une vidéo publiée sur Telegram. Vendredi, le responsable avait proposé aux habitants le souhaitant d’évacuer la ville de Belgorod , visée par des bombardements ukrainiens qui s’intensifient.

Cette mesure inédite pour une grande ville en Russie va à l’encontre des efforts du Kremlin qui a toujours voulu accréditer l’idée, depuis près de deux ans d’assaut en Ukraine, que le conflit n’affectait pas directement le quotidien et la sécurité des Russes. Cette stratégie a toutefois volé en éclats le 30 décembre, quand une attaque ukrainienne sur Belgorod a fait 25 morts, le bilan civil le plus meurtrier sur le sol russe depuis le début de l’offensive de Moscou chez son voisin le 24 février 2022.

Le pape François s’est ému ce lundi de la notion de « dommages collatéraux » quand des civils meurent en Ukraine et à Gaza. « Dans un contexte où le discernement entre objectifs militaires et civils semble ne plus être observé, il n’y a pas de conflit qui ne finisse en quelque sorte par frapper aveuglément la population civile. Les événements en Ukraine et à Gaza en sont la preuve évidente », a-t-il regretté. « Nous ne devons pas oublier que les violations graves du droit international humanitaire sont des crimes de guerre », a ajouté le pape argentin.

Au moins quatre personnes ont été tuées et des dizaines d’autres blessées en Ukraine dans de nouvelles frappes nocturnes russes, a annoncé lundi Kiev , au moment où la Russie dit vouloir intensifier ses attaques contre son voisin. Les frappes particulièrement meurtrières se multiplient ces dernières semaines des deux côtés de la frontière. Lundi, la police nationale ukrainienne a fait état d’une « attaque russe massive » qui a provoqué la mort de quatre personnes tandis que 38 autres ont été blessées dans plusieurs régions d’Ukraine.

Dans le centre, à Kryvyï Rig, la ville natale du président Volodymyr Zelensky , un tir de missile a causé la mort d’une personne, selon cette même source. Deux personnes ont en outre péri à Khmelnitskiï, une cité de l’ouest, et des missiles ont fait un mort dans la région de Kharkiv (nord-est), ont dit les forces de l’ordre.

Elles ont ajouté que cinq personnes avaient été blessées dans la ville méridionale de Zaporijia, où deux immeubles ont été endommagés. L’armée ukrainienne a affirmé avoir abattu 18 des 51 missiles tirés par les Russes vers des « infrastructures importantes » ou des bâtiments industriels et militaires.

(Kyiv) Les autorités de la région russe de Belgorod, frontalière de l’Ukraine et visée par des bombardements ukrainiens qui s’intensifient, ont invité les habitants à évacuer et à sécuriser leurs fenêtres pour se protéger des éclats d’obus.

Parallèlement, l’armée ukrainienne a indiqué ne pas pouvoir corroborer à ce stade l’usage par la Russie de missiles nord-coréens au lendemain d’accusations en ce sens des États-Unis.

« Dès aujourd’hui, nous sommes prêts à vous transporter à Stary Oskol et à Goubkine (plus éloignés de la frontière, NDLR), où vous serez dans des conditions très confortables, dans des chambres chaudes et sûres. Vous y resterez aussi longtemps que nécessaire », a annoncé vendredi le gouverneur de la région de Belgorod, Viatcheslav Gladkov, sur Telegram.

« Je vois des appels sur les réseaux sociaux, où l’on écrit : “Nous avons peur, aidez-nous à nous mettre en sécurité”. Bien sûr que nous le ferons ! Nous avons déjà déplacé plusieurs familles », a-t-il encore affirmé en référence à d’autres évacuations en 2023 de localités plus petites et plus proches de la frontière.

Cette mesure inédite pour une grande ville en Russie s’inscrit en porte-à-faux par rapport au Kremlin qui s’est toujours efforcé de donner l’image, depuis près de deux ans d’invasion, que le conflit n’affecte pas directement le quotidien et la sécurité des Russes.

Cette stratégie a volé en éclat le 30 décembre quand 25 personnes ont perdu la vie à Belgorod dans une attaque ukrainienne, le bilan civil le plus meurtrier sur le sol russe depuis le début de l’assaut de Moscou le 24 février 2022.

Vendredi, Viatcheslav Gladkov a également promis d’appeler d’autres régions russes à la rescousse si la sienne devait être amenée à manquer de place dans des centres d’accueil.

Écoles fermées

Signe d’une inquiétude qui grandit, plus tôt dans la journée, la ville de Belgorod avait déjà appelé pour la première fois ses habitants à sécuriser leurs fenêtres pour « se protéger » d’éventuels éclats de verre face aux bombardements ukrainiens qui s’y multiplient.

La veille, les autorités régionales avaient elles annoncé repousser la rentrée scolaire du 9 au 19 janvier dans la ville et dans quelques localités environnantes.

Les hostilités se sont encore accrues entre Russes et Ukrainiens au tournant de la nouvelle année, avec une multiplication de frappes particulièrement meurtrières.

En représailles à l’attaque sans précédent sur Belgorod, Vladimir Poutine avait promis d’« intensifier » les frappes russes contre des « cibles militaires » en Ukraine.

Dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi, la Russie a attaqué son voisin avec 29 drones « Shahed », selon l’armée de l’air ukrainienne qui a assuré en avoir abattu 21, sans évoquer les dégâts provoqués par ceux qui sont passés entre les mailles du filet.

Plus au Sud, le parquet général ukrainien a rapporté quatre blessés dans une frappe à Kherson, cible quasi-quotidienne de bombardements russes.

Dans ce contexte, les autorités municipales à Kyiv ont demandé « instamment » aux habitants de la capitale de ne pas prendre part samedi à des évènements de masse pour célébrer l’Épiphanie.

Le ministère russe de la Défense, lui, a rapporté avoir « détecté et détruit » à la mi-journée un missile ukrainien Neptune au-dessus de la mer Noire.

Il a aussi affirmé avoir déjoué une « tentative d’attaque terroriste » du régime de Kyiv sur la péninsule de Crimée, dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi, rapportant avoir « intercepté » et détruit quatre missiles ukrainiens.

Les États-Unis ont affirmé que des missiles fournis par Pyongyang avaient été lancés contre l’Ukraine lors des deux bombardements du pays par la Russie les 30 décembre et le 2 janvier.

Pour appuyer sa campagne de frappes accrues, la Russie a utilisé le 30 décembre dans la région de Zaporijjia (sud) et le 2 janvier plusieurs missiles livrés par la Corée du Nord, a accusé Washington jeudi.

Vendredi, les autorités ukrainiennes ont toutefois temporisé : « À ce stade, nous n’avons pas d’informations sur l’usage de tels missiles », a assuré le porte-parole de l’armée de l’air, Iouri Ignat.

« Les États-Unis ont fait une déclaration en ce sens, dès lors des experts vont étudier l’épave (de missile) et nous pourrons dire ensuite si c’est le cas ou non. Je ne peux pas encore confirmer », a-t-il ajouté.

La Russie a opéré un rapprochement accéléré avec la Corée du Nord depuis le début de l’invasion de l’Ukraine.
