Great service, and even better food. My family and I were staying at a hotel in the vicinity, and La Bekada stood out among the options nearby. Although we were ushered to the corner of an empty dining room, I could tell the diner's atmosphere was sophisticated but laid-back. Our server was pleasant, patient, and eager to flex his English skills. To whet our appetites, we began with an off-menu salad (waiter recommended) that came with a lump of mouth-watering smoked goat cheese and a some type of crunchy worm-like fish. Looked a little strange, but tasted quite good. We then moved on to shrimp, chicken, and beef croquettes (little fritters), which were playfully arranged on the branches of a miniature tree constructed from coiled wire. The outsides were thin and crispy, with gooey centers infused with notes of rosemary. For our main courses, we ordered two paella platters: one Mixta and one Negra. Now that's more like it. THIS-- generous helpings of colorful cooked rice bursting with meaty toppings and rich flavors-- is exactly how I envisioned the renowned Spanish staple. The Paella Mixta was buttery and smooth, with a combination of shrimp and chicken. The rice was actually the best part and paired nicely with the lemon. The star of the meal, however, was the Paella Negra, white rice doused with squid ink and cooked in a seafood broth with assorted sea critters. As a rabid seafood-lover, this pitch-black preparation blew me away with its savory taste and perfectly cooked calamari and shell-on prawns. This place has gotten mixed reviews elsewhere on the internet, but I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Dare I say it might have been the best or second best meal we had during our stay in Spain!

Able to accommodate us gringos on a late Sunday night close to airport. Paella was large in size, but tasty. Good option for this part of town. Sangria in liters only, very sweet but still refreshing.

I would not consider this spot a steak house but the food was good for a reasonable price. The Burgers and the appetizers appeared more appealing than the Steak selections. Burger was delicious and so was the Tuna Tartar. Service was good to.

Terrible service. Sat down and about 15 minutes later we got a menu... another ten minutes later to order a drink and although we told the waiter we were ready to order food he ignored us. 10 minutes later my beer came but my wife's wine was missing we just got a glass and the waiter said he would be right back. Ten minutes later we ran out of patience and I went in and asked to pay for my beer so I could move on to another place; the waiter was not sure who I was... I clarified and he proceeded to insult me and say we had ordered a wine too. I pointed out that he had not delivered it and he said he was about too despite the fact that there was no wine anywhere in on this tray. He kept saying that this was a terrace and things take time and how this was not a Chinese restaurant. Avoid this place unless u have a lot of time and patience

The food here was fantastic! Don't be put off by the the surly bar man and the appearance of the bar itself. The restaurant part is very nice, with lots of screens for watching whatever football match is on. The steak I had was great! Very tender and delicious. My friends opted for the standard paella which was very tasty. The sangria is sweet and yummy and they also had a wide range of beers and some good red wines.

Okay for near airport but not spectacular. The heart of palm salad is very good. Paella was mediocre.

So, we came here for a quick bite to eat before going to the airport and it was great. For €13 we had a 3 course meal which include drinks. The food was exquisite try the spinach soup and the turkey slices. They make their own bread which is brought out hot from the oven! For dessert try the caramel flan pie!

Excellent paella! Staying near the airport and needed a place to eat. I went in blind, and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the paella, and it was definitely done fresh and right. Lots of seafood; prawns, octopus, clams, mussels, lobster. Rice was not overcooked. One of the best meals I had in Spain.

First look: C-Cat 48

The new C-Cat 48 is a high performance cruising catamaran, which is available in two different specifications. Rupert Holmes reports

The C-Cat 48 is a lightweight and fast Italian cruising catamaran from the Comar Yachts yard near Rome, Italy.

The newly announced catamaran features C-foil daggerboards, which should reduce displacement at speed, in turn helping the cat achieve high speeds on passage, and high bridgedeck clearance.

The C-Cat 48, follows the same philosophy as it’s younger sister, the C-Cat 37 and incorporates the same key concepts to create a single large outdoor living space. The cockpit is protected by a large bimini, which is fully closable for pleasant outdoor living, and the cockpit and dinette are both on the same level, divided by a large sliding door.

Young French designer François Perus has created a boat that fits at the high end of the performance cruising spectrum, yet still offers spacious and comfortable accommodation.

This accommodation includes a very sheltered cockpit that opens onto a large saloon with optional inside steering position.

Two customisable versions are offered: the Antigua is the higher performance option and emphasises the boat’s sporty potential, with a lightweight interior, while the Saint Barths offers a greater degree of luxury for those who may spend extended periods on board.

The first boat is scheduled for a mid-August 2021 launch at Fiumicino near Rome and will be unveiled to the public at the Cannes boat show .

The standard owner’s version with the owner’s hull on the port side with a large bed in the rear and a large bathroom in the front and a hull on the starboard side with a spacious sleeping cabin at the front and rear and a spacious bathroom in between.

Or the charter version with 2 equal hulls with a spacious sleeping cabin at the front and back and a spacious bathroom in between.

In the bow a skipper/crew cabin can be installed

The saloon on the bridge deck between the hulls has a spacious seating area, chart table with optional steering option and a very spacious U-kitchen, because the saloon inside and the cockpit outside are on the same level, the indoor and outdoor space can easily be pulled together to form one large space.

Due to the vacuum injection of the laminate with epoxy vinylester resin and the use of carbon at the points where large forces are applied, a very light and rigid construction has been created. It is also possible to build the C-Cat 62 entirely from carbon.

It’s been mentioned before, our C-Cats are fast. Speed s also safety, it is also easier to avoid or keep up with weather systems on long trips. But there is more security; both bows have a so-called “crash box” at the very front. This ensures that when hitting a hard object, water does not immediately run through the entire boat, but it keeps the damage in place. In fact, there are 4 airtight compartments, making the C-Cat 62 even unsinkable! The daggerboards have fracture surfaces so that they could break off under water in a (very) hard collision without damaging the hull.

The C-Catamaran yard is a relatively small yard, so we are flexible to accommodate owner’s wishes. Chartering or living on board gives you other wishes, just indicate these and we will make your C-Cat exactly the way you want it!

Capt. Jonny Rorech Born and raised on the Atlantic seaboard of the US, Capt. Johnny has always had a fascination with sailing, pirates, and all things nautical. His dream of sailing grew out of seeing his uncle skipper a boat for over 30 years in the Bahamas and Virgin Islands. The fond memories of his Uncle always returning on home on his motorcycle, with a deep dan and a different bohemian blonds on his arm, inspired Johnny to take up sailing professionally. As a long-time nomadic filmmaker and underwater astronaut, Capt. J. Blue has spent the last 7 years working and traveling around South East Asia, immersing himself in new cultures and always ready to try new things. Formerly, an entrepreneur, Capt. Johnny Blue has now ventured into the deep blue unknown, traveling where the wind takes him and seeking new adventures on the horizon. Cutting his teeth in the sailing industry, while living and working in Phuket, Thailand, Johnny instructed others on this passion, while simultaneously running charters on various catamarans and monohulls, in the beautiful and breathtaking Phang Gna Bay in the Andaman Sea. After 3 year working in Phuket as a captain in Phuket, Johnny decided to take a stint in the Mediterranean, captaining a 49’ sailboat throughout the quintessentially Greek islands of the Dodecanese. Following a season there, Johnny delivered a Bali 5.4 across the Atlantic during peak hurricane season, before coming to the Caribbean to work for a company is the USVI’s. This is now his 2nd season in the Virgins Islands, and he is looking forward to many more to come. My family and I (ages 13 to 69) had the opportunity to go on both the Sunset Cruise and the Blue Angels trip. Captain Zach, Stephanie, and Rachel were the crew for both. We were pleasantly surprised by the drinks and snacks on the Sunset Cruise. It was smooth sailing, and they were all very attentive. We saw dolphins too! While there were a lot of people on the boat, we were never squished or rushed around. It was so nice!! The Blue Angels trip was something we will never forget though! There were plenty of food options for breakfast and lunch, and with the bright sunshine and fresh air, we were ready for it! The sail to Pensacola was amazing, and we saw dolphins there too. The air show was super cool, and the planes flew right over the boat! We stopped by the beach and played on our way back. The kids took advantage of the SUPs, and the kayaks. Life jackets on! We saw crabs, jellyfish, and numerous big birds. The crew was amazing!!! They even caught a crab for us to get an up close look at it :) It was a definite 10/10, and I am so glad we were able to experience this.

Having recently celebrated the iconic club’s 120th anniversary with a special kit for the 2021/2022 season, this year, Y-3 and Real Madrid have come together once again to bring Yohji Yamamoto’s distinct perspective to one of the sporting world’s most decorated clubs, with a seven-piece travel collection.

Inspired by the signature monochromatic color palette of both Real Madrid and Y-3, the travel collection itself consists of a sleek and elegant selection of pieces in all black. Crafted at the intersection of tailoring and athletic-wear, the suite of pieces includes a short sleeve polo, a long sleeve polo, a pair of shorts, a pair of track pants, a track top, a coach jacket, and a premium faux leather jacket – each made with soft sporting fabrics and finished with collaborative details such as Yohji Yamamoto’s instantly recognizable handwritten signature script wordmark and the Real Madrid crest.

Bellingham gets 2-game suspension for complaining to referee who blew whistle before he scored

MADRID — Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was handed a two-game suspension on Wednesday for protesting against a referee after his late goal was waived off in a Spanish league match last weekend.

Bellingham loudly complained after the referee blew the final whistle before he sent his header into the net for what would have been Madrid’s winner against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday. The game ended 2-2.

Madrid had continued its attack even though referee Jesús Gil Manzano ended the game after a ball crossed into the area.

Gil Manzano wrote in his report that Bellingham ran toward him “in an aggressive manner shouting repeatedly” with an expletive in English to describe the goal.

Madrid was expected to appeal the two-game suspension. The team’s next two matches in the league are against Celta Vigo on Sunday and at Osasuna the following weekend.

Madrid has a seven-point lead over Girona after 27 matches.

Bellingham, the England midfielder who is the Spanish league’s leading scorer with 16 goals, started for Madrid against Valencia after missing three games with an ankle sprain.
