The Yacht Club Sports Bar & Grill

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

We stopped with out Campervan for 2 days at the yacht club, we were warmly welcomed by Chris and he gave us a tour of the facilities, we parked up and enjoyed the bar and food at the bar , I agree the “dirty fries”... need the chef to make an effort to cook some bacon and great some cheese, not a difficult task - the fish ginger sandwhich was great, coffee was nice and the service was good. Breakfast buns were good , this is a great location for a cmapervan if visiting Liverpool, services were really good and clean , also £5 a night off your bar bill. Don’t expect a view of the Mersey , but don’t avoid this place - it’s well worth the visit. More

Two night stay in our Motorhome. Found this by luck more then judgement. Great place for over night stop with our Motorhome right on the mersey great access to Liverpool Center on the docks. Has water and waste disposal for gray and Eĺain water but... no electricity hook up but that’s fine if you have off grid set up. £20 a night with full used of showers and toilets and bar (beer and more beer🤪) will use this again one piece of advice ring ahead or use their web page also send you confirmation email to the parking website to stop any fines. Top spot for visiting Liverpool I know I should have kept this a secret as now you all know 😉 A1++ More

Popped in with friends whilst stopping within walking distance at the Travelodge. In my opinion it was similar to a social club. Everyone was friendly and the staff were all helpful . The toilets were spotless !! The main attraction for us was the Pool... table. They have a full bar serving a wide variety of beers.. More

We have given this place so much slack because we want it to be successful. After several poor service experiences we stopped going in however we made the old mistake of giving it one more try. We arrived at at7.15pm and were told last food... orders would be 7.30pm. We noted a large party seated for a 40th birthday and asked if our food would be delayed by them, we were told 'yes, your food will be about one hour'. We could live with that so ordered a starter and a main, we had to try several times as so much of the menu was unavailable. At 8.50pm our starters arrived, I got a bowl half full of vegetable soup and a couple of small, very cold, slices of bread. My partner got a bowl of garlic mushrooms that appeared to be doing the backstroke through a mush of cheese and grease. One hour later I enquired about our mains, I was told they were just coming, 10 minutes after that I tried to cancel because there was still no sign but I was told they were being plated and would be out in 2 minutes. A further 10 minutes passed and we asked for a refund. As the refund was being processed our food arrived. We declined it and continued with getting our refund. We were told they would only refund the main because we'd eaten the starters, fair enough, but poor customer service. To complete the shambles of an evening we noted instead of refunding our money back to our card they had actually debited the cost of the meal again. We pointed it out and they brought us a cash refund for our 'double charged' meals. I wish I could say this experience was a one off for us, unfortunately it's not. The staff are nice and friendly but that can no longer make up for the appalling service failures. More

Hi, We are terribly sorry to hear about your experience with us, On that night, a few of the members of the birthday party were running late which meant that we were delayed a little further in the kitchen which could possibly explain the lengthy... More

Before reviewing I had tried to send the below email to numerous email address and message on social media with no replies. Hi, I am writing regards to our Christmas Dinner that ended up ruining this year's Xmas. When initially booked, I asked the lady... what is the earliest time slot, she said it is 2pm and I told her as my daughters go home to their mums at 3pm Xmas, she informed me it is set up like a carvery that opens at 2pm we will be done. When we arrive, I asked the barman is this still the case, he said yes and they will actually be calling us in at 1:30pm. He tells me how bad last year was managed and that it won't be the same this year as they are more organised. It wasn't promising to hear when I arrived that the last Xmas Dinner wasn't well organised. When we go in, the place looks completely unorganised so we ask a lady working what time and she tells us food will be starting 2:15pm. 2:15pm comes and nothing seems to be happening so we ask a different lady who tells us 2:30pm. 3pm comes and no food has come, meaning one of my children had to go home with getting no food that we had paid for. My second daughter has been told I can have her til 4pm. I only get to eat once every 2 years with my daughter, meaning I will have a 4 year wait between eating Xmas Dinner with my eldest. It's now getting close to 4pm and nothing seems to be happening on our table, all this while staff behind the food are drinking pints of lager with not much care about the massive delay. After we complain, a man comes over and tells us he will send us free drinks over, he also promises my niece a massive present when she leaves, no drinks came and no present for a child who was asking where it was. When food finally did come, the portion sizes where strange to say the least, my 3 year old had double the food I had, and the food was very cold by then. 3 plates came over meaning we all ate at separate times. Same with desert, anyone who ordered cheesecake got that at separate times too as we was told the cheesecake hadn't been cut. While this was happening we heard that the chef was off due to covid but other staff who had seen him where working and that's why the food was poor and behind, which also wasn't reassuring. More

Absolutely disgraceful from start to finish, waited about 3 hours for our dinner and when it came out was like cold mush slapped on a plate, I wouldn’t of even fed my dog this and yet they charged £50 per person!!! We left with our... plates full, no chance of waiting around for desert. Poor staff couldn’t keep up with the amount of people there, not their fault, however a refund should of been given out. As it ruined our Christmas Day, Since then chased it up & lost count of times I’ve been told ‘someone will be in touch’ they are alright taking the money though aren’t they? Absolutely vile needs shutting down More

Waitresses were helpful and friendly. We sat down shortly after 8 and didn’t get our food until around 9pm, despite being only 2 people. The seat was good- outdoors with the water and boats in view, which is fortunate as the live music indoors was... very loud. We ordered a halloumi salad, aspen fries (truffle and Parmesan) and a Cajun chicken burger. The burger was good and my husband enjoyed it. The salad was doused in Thai sweet chili dressing and the halloumi was in tiny cubes and deep fried- which was a real shame as I couldn’t taste it over the dressing. On a warm summer evening I banked on a salad being a good option. The Aspen fries really let me down as they tasted mildly of truffle but there was no visible Parmesan. I had to add salt and vinegar to give them flavour. The venue was nice, despite wonky table, and there were lots of families enjoying the warm weather, but due to the disappointing food (bill was around £50 including a couple of beers) we will not be back. I find it unbelievable that such a nice venue could serve such appalling food. The venue is nice, location is nice, they have good front of house staff. They should be onto a winner. It could be as good as anywhere with a decent chef... turning out decent food. But the food was absolutely dreadful. We only had a couple of bits. But £7 for salt and pepper chips that were cheap fries with a few onions! No salt and pepper seasoning. Not a pepper in sight. No flavour at all. Lazy. Then loaded fries with bacon, again not a scrap of bacon and a vile liquid cheese. Don't know what they were meant to be loaded with. There are 1000 places knocking stuff like this out properly at half the price. And finally the most overcooked burger that I've ever had put in front of me. It was like a brick. This is the most basic and simple food to make and Im absolutely astonished that anybody working in a kitchen could make such a bad job of a simple dish. This place doesn't need gourmet fancy food, but serving simple dishes isn't difficult to get right. But unfortunately, based on what we were served last night, whoever is preparing it doesn't care one bit about what they're serving up. I'd expect better food in the scruffiest pub in Rhyl More

Swerve this place, sub standard food and service, dirty menus, staff didn’t have a clue, sat for 20 mins then had to go and ask a server to order. Chips were bought in and undercooked, steak was not the weight specified, overcooked and rubbery, sauce... was out of a packet, garnish not as advertised. Never going back. More

We have visited here many times before but today will be our last. 4 out of 5 fish dishes on the menu were unavailable today! The hot chicken wings were simply chicken wings coated in pepper. My main arrived at the same time as the... starters, we sent it back, which in hindsight was a mistake as they probably just put it in an oven to keep warm. The rib eye medium rare steak wasn’t!! See pictures! The chips were reheated and the pepper corn sauce, just see photo, no words!! My wife had half a chicken which was so dry it was inedible. A horrendous experience and it set us back over £50, avoid eating here, simply appalling More

Liverpool - “The Yacht Club” was out of order. When myself and 2 other deaf friends went there today. We were about to order the breakfast then the staff told us that breakfast had finished at 12, which I totally understand because it was 12:10pm.... The staff told us that the lunch menu was starting. We were looking at the menu when the boss came and told her that no food for 15 minutes. We then saw the boss carrying breakfasts to other customers after 12:15. I double checked again with different staff at the bar about what had happened with the food. She told me the same thing about waiting ‘15 minutes’, so I sat down again. 35 minutes later still no-one came back to see if we were ready to order. I checked again and the staff told me food was not available plus no drinks either, (effectively refusing to serve us), but told to use the next room, where a wedding party was in progress (wedding party room), to order drinks. Telling me to effectively gatecrash a wedding party. I just went back to my friends and explained what happened. I saw other people at the same bar I just used ordering drinks at this bar. The bar I was just told I could not be served at. Also, just five minutes later that we saw staff carrying food to customers. And other staff carrying sandwiches & chips from the lunchtime menu to the customers. We only ordered ONE drink. We wanted to order food but was not allowed and also not allowed to order more drinks. We had been in there for 1 hour and treated very very badly. We decided leave and went to a different location where I can say we were treated with respect in a friendly environment. I can inform the readers of this review that we were polite and courteous and did not warrant the way we were treated. We did not create any fuss as we just wanted to have a nice meal in a nice environment. We did have a nice meal with drinks in a friendly environment but this was NOT in the Yacht Club There was no respect given to us and no-one had any deaf awareness. We will never go there again ever. We were treated very badly by all staff we approached for assistance. More

My wife and I took my sister in law and her sister there for our Christmas dinner get together. On entering the place the first thing to notice was how cold it was. The waiter pointed to a fire in the corner of the room... as the source of heat and said the heating was down. When we were ordering, the first choice of fish was not available. So two of the girls ended up ordering scampi and chips. I ordered what I thought was a type of steak pie. It was not to be! It turned out to be a couple of slices of streaky roast beef that was drowning in thin gravy and covered in a pastry. It was absolutely the worst meat/steak pie I have ever tasted. Disgusting. The accompanying vegetables were not much better. I was caught in the awkward position of not wanting to make a fuss and call the waiter over so I left it. Two of the other meals were mostly left. What was eaten was solely because they were hungry after a long day at a hospital. I went to pay at the bar and while the prices had been on the menu, it hit me when I saw the bill and put it in context with what we had been served. It was terrible value. I mentioned my disappointment to the waiter who called a “manager”? over. His response was a smile and a “Sorry about that”. I felt insulted when he said he would take 10% off the bill. I refused and walked back to the table to leave. The waiter then came over with four glasses and a bottle of wine. I told him: “Thanks, but no thanks.” He insisted and insisted and insisted. Not wanting to make an issue, my wife intervened, looked me and said accept it and leave it at that. The waiter (a friendly guy), left it on the table and I gave it to my sister in law to take home. As for me, a terrible meal on a Christmas dinner outing out cannot be made better with a bottle of wine. My advice to anyone thinking of eating at the Yacht Club is: Go somewhere else. The restaurant is located in a fairly large community of apartments and condominiums. Over the years having had previous owners, the word in the community had been of an eatery that used be good but had gone down. Sad to say, the decline continues. More

We booked breakfast with Santa and what a lovely morning we had! A very special festive morning for all the family. The food was excellent, kids finished every bit and we especially enjoyed the Irish sausages specially sourced by the owner 👌🏻, very tasty!! All... the waiting staff were so attentive, couldn’t fault any part the service…Amy is amazing who always goes above and beyond. The Santa’s grotto was professionally set out and executed, which the kids absolutely loved it! They really thought about the entire experience for all the family, parents, grandparents as well as the kids! We would definitely recommend and plan to return next year 🤍🎅🏻 Thank you for a lovely festive morning x More

I don’t know where to start. We walked in and the place was absolutely gorgeous 😍 the wedding organisers Carla and Diane were truly artists. They done the room up to the highest standard possible. We were all very impressed. Thank you for the extras.... That didn’t go unnoticed 😉 it was just beautiful. We had lots of feedback from family and freinds saying it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We all loved it. Everyone throughly enjoyed the whole night dancing and making memories. The bar staff were fantastic !! thanks to them we were all very drunk fast 😂 👍 We had hot buffet food curry, scouse, salad sandwiches, cakes the lot. It was well presented and tasted amazing. Thank you to all your team for a fantastic night. I want to do it all over again. Keep up the great work. All the best to you all Carol and Mike xxx More

Had heard that it was lovely at The Yacht Club and so was eager to visit and see for ourselves. We weren’t disappointed. Really lovely surroundings with the marina and the Mersey close by. The Yacht club is delightful inside, nautically themed and their function... room looks fantastic. Really lovely outdoor seating too. We sat inside as it was a bit chilly today and ordered two ‘dirty burgers’ with chunky chips and salad. The lady who served us was very nice and said we’d made a good choice. She was right. The burgers were double patties, with egg and bacon on them. Chunky chips were spot on and the salad was nicely dressed and flavourful. Parking charges are refunded for restaurant patrons, so win win. Will be back here as we really enjoyed the food, ambience and the service. A little gem in Liverpool! More

We had our school reunion at the Yacht Club for the second year running. We were book at the beach bar, but due to rain they kindly allowed us to use the function room and then moved into the bar are as and when it got quieter. The food was amazing, Louie the chef has an amazing talent for cooking delicious food, he always goes the extra mile. Maria the server looked after us again going the extra mile. There were a number of new faces whos names I didn’t catch behind the bar and they looked after us all afternoon and night, always polite and friendly. Amy checked everything was ok several times. I can not fault the service or the catering. The staff are great people and they made our reunion really special.

Amazing location and views. Great drinks and food, friendly service. Particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast and the good Guinness. Looking forward to another visit.

I recently dined at the Yacht Club on Wednesday with my boyfriend and I must express my disappointment with the level of rudeness exhibited by the staff. Throughout the evening, I noticed that they served us without a smile and responded to my requests with apparent annoyance. After we made our order, one of the staff members, a blond guy, turned to his colleague and they laughed in a very disrespectful manner while glancing at me and my boyfriend. I'm not sure if the place is LGBT+ unfriendly or just generally rude, but this behaviour is not acceptable. Furthermore, we encountered several issues during my meal. I had to request attention multiple times as we was served fish fingers without any cutlery or sauce, not to mention that we weren't served the chips we ordered and paid for. Despite my repeated pleas, the staff completely ignored us. Eventually, when the cutlery and the chip were brought, they failed to provide any sauce despite my explicit requests for it. While I found the food to be decent (albeit overpriced), the abysmal level of service we experienced ensures that we will never consider returning to this establishment.

I hope this letter finds you well. On behalf of the Yacht Club team, I would like to express our deepest apologies for the disappointing experience you and your boyfriend had during your recent visit to our establishment. We take your feedback seriously and understand the importance of addressing the issues you encountered promptly and effectively. We genuinely appreciate your feedback regarding the quality of the food itself, as it is encouraging to hear that you found it to be decent. However, we understand that it is the combination of excellent cuisine and impeccable service that creates a truly memorable dining experience. We apologize for falling short in delivering the level of service you rightfully expected from us. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We genuinely hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust and provide you with a dining experience that exceeds your expectations. Yours sincerely

Paid £30 for 3 tickets and turned out people just going in for free! It is an absolute dump and expensive. Filthy and smelly. Couldn’t wait to leave! Rip off!!!!!

The Yacht Club Bar & Restaurant is based right on the Marina here in Liverpool. With amazing menus and friendly staff, it's a safe haven for you and your dog and is in a perfect location, right off the main waterfront walk. It's also perfect for an after paddle pint if you've been on the water. I would highly recommend the Sunday Roast dinners, big portions so share under the table :P

Dog biscuits are ready to hand and a dog bed is also available for when Snoopy is sleepy.

During the summer, the beach bar around the back is open with some ibiza chill music and a BBQ to really get those holiday vibes in, During the winter, the trees are lit up and the fire is on for a cosy cuddle with some hot chocolate.

So get your best dressed on, your bow tie out and visit the Yacht Cub, Coburg Wharf, Liverpool.

Racing Events

Lyver Trophy

The Lyver Trophy race was first introduced as a bi-annual race by Gordon Dewar from Liverpool Yacht Club, as a joint initiative with the Royal Dee Yacht Club.  The aim is to provice a R.O.R.C. Fastnet qualifying race for boats based in ports around the North West, including Liverpool, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Pwllheli, Holyhead and the Irish ports. Requiring a minimum distance of 75 nautical miles, the first race in 1997 started in Liverpool and ended in Pwllheli, since then the start of the race moved to Holyhead, in order to maintain the growing reputation of the event and to attract yachts from Ireland and South Wales.  The start of the event returned to Liverpool in recent years following the devastation of Holyhead marina  during storm Emma in 2018. The race is independently organised and managed by LYC forming a committee every 2 years for the purpose of providing a testing course and a qualifying race for the world famous Fastnet race and is funded jointly by members of LYC and Royal Dee Yacht Club. Entries are welcome from all handicapped yachts and all issues regarding the running of such an event are strictly observed.

First refuelling for Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP

!{Model.Description}

yacht club liverpool

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactor units. In such reactors, nuclear fuel is not replaced in the same way as in standard NPPs – partial replacement of fuel once every 12-18 months. Instead, once every few years the entire reactor core is replaced with and a full load of fresh fuel.

The KLT-40S reactor cores have a number of advantages compared with standard NPPs. For the first time, a cassette core was used, which made it possible to increase the fuel cycle to 3-3.5 years before refuelling, and also reduce by one and a half times the fuel component in the cost of the electricity produced. The operating experience of the FNPP provided the basis for the design of the new series of nuclear icebreaker reactors (series 22220). Currently, three such icebreakers have been launched.

The Akademik Lomonosov was connected to the power grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020.

Electricity generation from the FNPP at the end of 2023 amounted to 194 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000 people. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000. The FNPP solved two problems. Firstly, it replaced the retiring capacities of the Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya Thermal Power Plant, which is more than 70 years old. It also supplies power to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka. In September, a 490 km 110 kilovolt power transmission line was put into operation connecting Pevek and Bilibino.
