Our Guests Say It Best
No way the Water Taxi can top this. Spend the extra $$. You will be glad you did. Winstonator approved. Stamp it! Ahoy!!!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed Captain Lindsey. If you can’t hear or understand her, then frankly, you may want to invest in a hearing aid. No loud obnoxious microphone needed, just well thought out historical information regarding Fort Lauderdale, with some funny jokes thrown in for good measure.
Just what we were looking for We have been coming to Ft Lauderdale for decades and have been looking for a sunset cruise to view the magnificent waterways, yachts and homes. We took the 1 1/2 hour cruise. I was impressed with the design and quietness of the battery powered boat. The price was reasonable. Captain Rocco was one of those people who loves their job. He even dropped us off at the 15 Street Fisheries where we had a memorable dinner. A most excellent evening !
Family and pet friendly tour We had a great time on our tour! We opted for a bottle of wine on board and that was really nice to have. Our captain was great at sharing so much information with us about what we were passing by and made a couple of special turns to show us things that interested us specifically. Our dog enjoyed the tour and well and even got a treat! It was a fun, relaxing and adventurous time on the water! Thank you Intimate waterways.

BEST Boat Ride in FL Area
My girl and I booked this boat ride when we went on vacation in the FL area on Aug 19 around 7 pm, wanted to see the sunset. This was the best boat ride we have ever had. Our captain was “Christina”, she shared the town history and showed us all the multi-million dollar homes! Such a fun, safe, relaxing environment, a great way to spend the day! Thank you! We had blast and she also stopped at a nice view to take pictures. Definitely would recommend it!
You Don’t want to miss this!!
Took the family for a night time tour. It was relaxing. Captain Rocco was not only full of knowledge but just a GREAT GUY!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the booking all the way through the actual tour.
Great experience!! Its a don’t miss it event!!
Book it, you won’t be disappointed
Our group was looking for something Fun to do and we are so happy we chose the 3 hour Sunset Cruise. It was so relaxing and calming. Captain Christina, went out of her way to make us comfortable and helped us enjoy every moment. She was very informative and answered all the questions we had. It’s pretty amazing that I have lived here for almost 40 years and have missed the beauty that’s in our own backyard! Beautiful and Peaceful!

The ultimate adventure awaits those journeying to Greater Fort Lauderdale by yacht. The “Yachting Capital of the World” is a vibrant boating community and a top sailing destination thanks to its ideal weather, calm and clear water, thriving marine industry, and supportive yachting lifestyle and culture. If not arriving by yacht, you'll find plenty of choices for chartering your own floating palace during your stay. Scroll down on this page to explore your options.
Fort Lauderdale has a strong tradition as a marine community. Beginning with early settlements and boatyards along the New River, to hosting the world’s largest in-water boat show – the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show – in the fall with more than 1,300 boats, 1,000 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors from 52 countries. Options abound in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding Greater Fort Lauderdale (Broward County) area with places to stay, refuel, restock and enjoy plenty of landside dining, hotels, shopping and entertainment.
Those who don’t arrive by yacht enjoy the beautiful backdrop provided by thousands of motor and sailing yachts moored in picturesque marinas throughout the region.
Find out more about the new partnership between Bermuda and Visit Lauderdale promoting the yachting lifestyle
Local marine industry.
Greater Fort Lauderdale's marine industry is comprised of world-class shipyards, marinas, manufacturing, wholesale and retail marine products, brokers, dockage, and every conceivable type of marine service, all supported by more than 149,000 jobs regionally – 121,000 in Broward County alone. This thriving industry contributes an annual economic impact of $9.7 billion in Broward County and $12.5 billion regionally.
The marine industry is the second largest business sector in Greater Fort Lauderdale following tourism. Approximately 2,000 superyachts (vessels measuring 80 feet or more) visit the destination each year. The destination also has more than 50,000 registered yachts and more than 100 marinas.
International and domestic crew on any size vessel can earn both regulatory and non-regulatory qualifications, from entry-level through senior management positions, from Greater Fort Lauderdale’s many maritime training options.
The Greater Fort Lauderdale area offers to yacht, sailing and motorboat enthusiasts an array of dockage, bunkering, maintenance, and provision services. And when on land, our visitors – whether they arrive by land, air or sea – can experience the advantages of the destination’s luxurious yet laid-back lifestyle, which includes world-class hotels , restaurants , golf , fishing , diving , running and biking trails , attractions, and shopping from luxury retailers and boutiques to the world’s largest single-story outlet mall . And, of course, spectacular year-round weather .
Discover Greater Fort Lauderdale
The lush and tropical Greater Fort Lauderdale area features 300+ miles of navigable waterways, 24 miles of pristine beaches and soft ocean breezes, beckoning you for your next port-of-call.
The Intracoastal Waterway is lined with marinas, waterfront restaurants, and nightspots, and the world's largest in-water boat show is also held every year in the fall in Fort Lauderdale.
The reasons to visit are as abundant as the sun and palm trees. Our 24-mile span of golden beaches await you. There are 300+ days of sunshine a year in this South Florida destination, which gives visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy boating, nature, diverse neighborhoods, events, attractions, and unique only-here specialness that helps define Greater Fort Lauderdale.
It’s easy to spend a day at the beach, with soft sands, beachfront promenades and beachfront shopping and dining. Or explore below the surface with 76 artificial reefs on the ocean floor as magnets for fish and reef life and the largest collection of warm-water wrecks in the Western world. It is also the only place in the continental USA where you can snorkel and dive on a living coral reef straight off the beach.
Greater Fort Lauderdale is one of the few areas in the world where both fresh water and salt water fishing are within 20 minutes of the angler. In addition to more than 200 freshwater species that can be caught in the numerous lakes and canals, there are deep sea fishing fleets located in Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Dania Beach and Hollywood. There are also four municipal piers stretching out into the Atlantic.
You’ll find plenty of thrills back on land, but it’s not necessarily “dry.” You can get a taste of the 50+ craft breweries along the Greater Fort Lauderdale Ale Trail. Enjoy the impressive “wine and dine” scene with more than 4,000 eateries, offering a mix of flavors spiced by native cuisines of the area’s diverse population, with plenty of local favorites and chef-centric genius. Many restaurants offer a dock and dine experience where you can dock your boat, yacht, jet ski or paddleboard and experience both fine and casual dining with spectacular waterfront views.
The destination also boasts luxury hotels, museums , nightlife , shopping , casinos , speakeasies, jazz clubs, wine lounges , walkable mural districts, beach music festivals and more. Days out and about. Nights out on the town. Explore the local way of life that welcomes one and all. Everyone under the sun.
For seafarers departing from or headed to Fort Lauderdale by yacht, Bermuda is a welcoming port-o-call for vessels in transition to and from the Mediterranean.

With palm tree lined canals, millionaire’s mansions and some of the best game fishing in the world, Fort Lauderdale is just waiting to be discovered with a private charter on top-rated boat tours.
It’s blessed with some of the most beautiful beachside vistas, year round summer weather, excellent fishing and plenty of culture to keep even the most demanding visitor content. Fort Lauderdale has everything that Miami has, but (whisper it), it might be even better…
The canals and classical themed waterfront properties lend this town the nickname ‘the Venice of America’, and it’s easy to see why. What better way to see this splendid South Florida city than from the deck of your private Fort Lauderdale boat rental ?
Top things to do in Fort Lauderdale when you are not on a boat tour
There’s so much to do in Fort Lauderdale that you’ll be hard pressed to cram it all in. We recommend heading to Las Olas beach to enjoy people watching, shopping and relaxing with a cool drink in the shade. If culture is your thing, there are plenty of museums and regular live music events throughout the year. Bonnet House museum and gardens is one of the top things to visit when you’re Fort Lauderdale.
Millionaires mansions
The Intracoastal Waterway is dotted with some of the most palatial homes. Think of it as ‘Beverly Hills-on-sea’, with mansions and private yachts almost big enough to be cruise ships (also, yes, you can organise a private yacht rental of one of these boating behemoths with Sailo). Known as Millionaire’s Row, these dream homes are best viewed while boating, and with Sailo you’ll find an excellent choice of private Fort Lauderdale sailboat tours for a day of sightseeing.
Fishing trips
Another thing that Fort Lauderdale is well known for is it’s excellent fishing. With a private fishing boat rental in Fort Lauderdale , you’ll be able to head out into the ocean and see what you can reel in. It’s a game fishing paradise in South Florida, so if fishing is your thing, don’t miss an opportunity to go on the fishing trip of a lifetime!
Whatever your reasons for visiting Fort Lauderdale, a boating trip is an unmissable experience. From sightseeing Fort Lauderdale boat tours, fishing boat charters or sailing at sunset, take a look at Sailo’s selection of yacht charters ready to set sail.

One of the key benefits of Fort Lauderdale boat tours is the ability to explore the city’s many attractions and landmarks from a unique perspective. With its numerous canals, rivers, and waterways, Fort Lauderdale has built a reputation as the “Venice of America.” There is much to see throughout the waterways, from a vast history to yachts to the famous Fort Lauderdale Millionaires Row.
Book a short tour on our Monterey 33′ or extend the adventure and head for a swim on one of our larger vessels. Whether going for a leisure cruise or looking to go snorkeling , each of our trips takes the same sightseeing tour through Fort Lauderdale.
From the beginning of most of our New River cruises , you’ll experience the city’s lively social hub, waterfront restaurants , iconic landmarks, and historic neighborhoods. As we enter Millionaires Row, we’ll explore the homes of the rich and famous, along with their accompanying mega yachts. Our Fort Lauderdale boat tours lead the pack, with accurate data and well-trained guides.
Found Along The Way
While the Fort Lauderdale Millionaires Row tour is most recognized, South Florida has no shortage of glitz, glam, and history. Taking the initial form of a Riverwalk boat tour, you’ll see the most historic buildings in Fort Lauderdale, such as the Stranahan House and the historic Riverside Hotel. As we leave the river, our private boat tour takes you through the heart of luxury, where sightseeing holds no bounds.
- Stranahan House. While far from the most extravagant home found on the river, the Stranahan House contrasts heavily against the modern architecture of downtown Fort Lauderdale. The house is the oldest standing building in Broward County, a product of Frank Stranahan.
- Railroad Bridge. During your Ft Lauderdale boat tour, you’ll encounter a peculiar bridge along the riverwalk boat ride. Unlike the various other bridges carrying vehicles and pedestrians, this one is responsible for allowing trains to pass over the river.
- Riverside Hotel. The Riverside Hotel is one of the most influential buildings on the Las Olas landscape. The hotel opened its doors in late 1936. Started by two brothers from Chicago, the Riverside Hotel has a distinctly Mediterranean flavor to its architecture. This building style would influence the rest of Las Olas Boulevard’s development, which has always been described as having a distinctly European flavor.
- Millionaires Row. Home to the rich and famous, this stretch of waterways found along any Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal tour holds the largest and most extravagant homes in the region Ranging from $15 million up to $98 million, these homes each hold a story worth telling.
- Bahia Mar. Most famously known as the hub for boat shows, this marina holds some of the largest yachts in the world. With some mega yachts nearing $500 million, an up-close view makes for an unforgettable experience.
Premium Fort Lauderdale Boat Tours
If you are looking for Fort Lauderdale boat tours, Flamingo Yacht Charters aims to please. Our yachting experience allows you to explore the 300 miles of waterways, including the unique opportunity to experience a Fort Lauderdale boat tour of Millionaires Row, where you’ll find the vast and gorgeous estates of the wealthy and famous. With accurate and live data, our boat tour agency can point out any stars found along the way.
Regarding our quality standards, our sightseeing tours in Fort Lauderdale are unmatchable. Most of our vessels begin their journey at the end of the New River, allowing for the same Fort Lauderdale sightseeing cruise, regardless of budget. From a Las Olas boat tour covering the city’s vast history to the mega-mansions found in Millionaire’s Row, our coastal yacht tours cover all grounds.
Riverwalk Boat Tour
While on your luxury yacht charter , you will come across an area of greenery along the banks of the New River. This one-mile-long private boat tour brings reprieve from the countless historic buildings that line the sides of the New River. The Riverwalk boat tour goes through one of the most important portions of the cityscape. It’s not uncommon to see many residents either spending their leisure time here or catch glimpse of a new event taking place.
Millionaires Row Tour
There’s no better way to witness a concentrated amount of luxury and wealth than with a Fort Lauderdale sightseeing tour of Millionaire’s Row. This Fort Lauderdale boat tour of homes takes you through a later portion of the New River. There you can find some of Florida’s most expensive and impressive homes lined up alongside the river’s edges.
Where and What is Millionaire Row?
A unique place to visit in Fort Lauderdale is Millionaire Row, a collection of pricy estates found along the waterway. This area of absolute opulence is located along the New River, the most prominent waterway in the city. The Fort Lauderdale Millionaire’s Row boat tour can be standalone or a gateway to activities such as a visit to the Fort Lauderdale sandbar .
Our yacht tour of Fort Lauderdale allows you to view, up close, the houses on Millionaires Row. Owned by people with exciting backgrounds, like celebrities and founders of big-name companies, our tours will give you a sense of the city and the extraordinary stories of people found here. While most of the big homes are found right alongside the New River, our Fort Lauderdale canal tours can let you see some of the lesser-seen homes within the maze of canals that line the city.
Fort Lauderdale’s Millionaires Row is home to many of the rich and famous, most of whom prefer to stay incognito. The area holds very few full-time residents, making spotting a celebrity unlikely. However, viewing the largest homes in America alongside the most opulent yachts in the world is an experience in itself. Here are just some notable names whose properties you’ll see during any Fort Lauderdale water tours:
- Jason Taylor
- Papa Johns founder John Schnatter
- Andrew Heller of Heller Capital
- Billionaire Wayne Huizenga
- Actor David Cassidy
- Brazilian Race Car Driver Hélio Castroneves
- Alamo Rent-A-Car Founder Michael Egan
Sightseeing in Fort Lauderdale
While the Millionaire’s Row is the most glitzy aspect of the Fort Lauderdale sightseeing boat tour, there are many other things to see.
This includes the Stranahan House , a look back towards the history of South Florida, contrasting heavily against the modern architecture of downtown Fort Lauderdale. In fact, the house is the oldest standing building in Broward County, a product of Frank Stranahan. Not too far from the Stranahan House is the Riverside Hotel, one of the most influential buildings in Las Olas. First opened in 1936, the hotel has a distinctly Mediterranean design that influenced the rest of the development on Las Olas Blvd and turned it into what we know today. As you proceed further in our Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal boat tour, you’ll see Bahia Mar, most famous for its hub for boat shows, holding the largest yachts in the world. These are among the few places you’ll see during our boat tours in Fort Lauderdale.
Las Olas Boat Tour
Each of our trips begins at the end of Las Olas Blvd. The hotspot for anyone visiting Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas is the city’s cultural Main Street, filled with shops and restaurants. Known as “the waves” in Spanish, Las Olas first came about in the 1920s to connect downtown Fort Lauderdale with the beach. With it becoming the eventual mainline for the city, the development of Las Olas began to spike. Today, you’ll see a mix of new and old buildings, restaurants, shops, and events alongside the street as you go up and down the New River, which runs parallel.

Exclusive Info
With years of experience as the leading boat tour agency, we have built ourselves as one of the most informative sightseeing tours in Fort Lauderdale. Our captains are prepared with some of the most comprehensive facts and anecdotes of the surrounding area, ensuring you’ll leave our yacht tour with at least a few interesting things to tell your friends back home.
Available Yachts
While our standard Millionaires Row boat tour is done on our Monterey 33′, we understand the desire to expand options. To clarify, each and every one of our other extended trips experience the same boat tour through Fort Lauderdale. Therefore, whether booking a sunset cruise or a Fort Lauderdale sailing charter , you’ll be met with the same sights and gathered intel.
Our nimble Monterey 328SS leads the yacht charter fleet in versatility. The Monterey is a great value for groups that aren’t too large, without much compromise. For instance, if you want to enhance one of our Fort Lauderdale boat tours with a stop at the sandbar, this is the boat to do it in. Experience luxury without any compromises. The boat can hold ten people comfortably and has a fully equipped restroom.
Our Farline Targa 48 is the most popular boat in our fleet. Priding itself on being ahead of the curve in technology and comfort, this yacht comes from the storied European Fairline brand. For example, this Fort Lauderdale yacht rental features an open-air cockpit, allowing you and your guests to experience the crisp ocean breeze. If the sun becomes overbearing, step underneath our new canvas top or into our recently renovated cabin.
On board, you’ll find ample seating, sun pads on both the bow and stern, an ice maker, a fridge, and two designated coolers. The cabin has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large entertainment area with a TV and game system.
The Sea Ray 480 Sedan Bridge is a luxurious cruiser with a spacious interior and many amenities. As you enter the sliding glass door, you’ll be met with a large air-conditioned cabin featuring a dinette, an entertainment center, three staterooms, and two heads. Wraparound windows allow you to take in the scenery while escaping the Florida heat. In addition, this yacht also features an open cockpit with ample seating and an elongated bow to relax in the sun and intake the ocean breeze.
It can be argued that Fort Lauderdale is better experienced through the water than on land. Claimed as the Venice of America, there is no shortage of waterways to explore. Moreover, our sailboat allows you to view new depths of the city with an endless stream of activities. Yachting is a large part of life in South Florida, and here, you’ll find accommodations to match the prestige status.

I took my grandchildren there for a fun day and it was quite fantastic! It was the crew's enthusiasm and the water fights with approaching vessels that the kids went crazy over. Bring a napsack of water and snacks- it's expensive dockside.
The crew was fun and enthusiastic! My 4 year old had a blast shooting the "bad guy with the water canons" Highly recommended for young kids. Will go back soon!
We just finished our trip with Capitan Black Sparrow and his crew and had a blast. Our kids had an awesome time playing pirates and we enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommended for families with young kids.
This was our second time. The first time our son was 4 and was completely enthralled. This time he was 6 and enjoyed it on a different level. The crew is very engaging, and the trip is action packed.
This was a great experience from beginning to end. Our 2.5 yr old was so engaged and was one of his favorite parts of our vacation. The crew is very experienced with all ages. They even made it interesting for the parents!

Best Boat Tour in Fort Lauderdale – Mansions, Wildlife, and Open Bar
We were looking for the best boat tour in Fort Lauderdale and we think we found it. This is a great budget-savvy way to get out on the New River. The Fort Lauderdale region contains more than 300 miles of canals that flow through the area.
Approximately 165 miles run through the city of Fort Lauderdale itself, giving it the nickname the, “Venice of America.” Interestingly enough, this title is even found on the city’s official seal. Look closely and you’ll even see authentic Venetian gondolas on the river.
Best Boat Tour in Fort Lauderdale
When you’re in sunny South Florida, it’s no surprise that you may have the desire to get out on the water. There’s only so much time you can cool off at the beach.
Best Place to Charter a Boat : Sailo makes boat rentals easy, personal, and accessible for everyone .
For those of us who don’t have the time or budget to rent a yacht, we found a great alternative to sight-see on the water around Fort Lauderdale. The best boat tour in Fort Lauderdale is on the Jungle Queen Riverboat , where you’ll cruise past mansions and megayachts, see amazing wildlife, and visit a private jungle island—you will see an alligator show, exotic birds, monkeys, lemurs, and have the opportunity to hold a baby alligator!
Cruise Down Millionaire Row
Jungle Queen has been cruising the canals of Fort Lauderdale since 1935 . The tour takes you on a breezy trip down the New River. The highlight for us was all the crazy views of what locals call “Millionaire Row.”
There are two tours available:
- 90-Minute Narrated Sightseeing Cruises (less than $25)
- All You Can Eat BBQ Dinner and Show at Tropical Isle with Sightseeing Cruise (less than $60)
The captain and narrator point out sprawling mansions and mega yachts of the rich and famous. You will also see mansions that were featured in several Blockbuster Hollywood movies.
Next, the tour lands on a little private island. Here you can watch an alligator show, check out some exotic animals, and enjoy a bite to eat. The island has some opportunities for some really pretty photos of the lush tropical plants and trees.
Be sure to bring your cameras and tripods. After a lovely hour-long cruise down the river, it was nice to get the opportunity to stretch our legs.
Party on the New River
On the return, you can see where boaters often stop for a swim on the sandbar. This place is known to locals as “The Triangle.” During spring break, this is one of the best places to be to party in and on the water.
For those that are looking to party out on the river, the Jungle Queen has a bar and restrooms on board so the party doesn’t have to stop while cruising down the river.
Dinner and a Cruise in Fort Lauderdale
The Jungle Queen is a family-owned and operated business and has been a Fort Lauderdale gem for over 80 years. We highly recommend the All You Can Eat BBQ Dinner and Show at Tropical Isle with Sightseeing Cruise for a night out.
The entire experience was amazing! Food was good, great musicians and great entertainment. Highly recommend!
Dine on a serene tropical island. Dinner includes an all-you-can-eat BBQ-style feast that includes ribs and chicken. On the island, entertainment comes in the form of a highly entertaining variety show. Make sure to book ahead to secure a seat.

However, this is also when the area is most crowded, and accommodations may be more expensive.
If you prefer fewer crowds , you might consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) or fall (September to November), when the weather is still enjoyable, and there are fewer tourists.
Also, you might want to consider the activities you want to enjoy on your trip. If you’re interested in water sports and outdoor activities, the warmer months of spring and summer might be ideal.
However, if you plan to spend more time exploring the historic sites and cultural attractions in Key West, the cooler months of fall and winter can provide a more comfortable experience.

Two Holland America Line crew members die in onboard 'steam release' in Bahamas
Two Holland America Line crew members died on the line’s Nieuw Amsterdam ship on Friday.
The deaths occurred following "an accidental steam release in an engineering space" around 9:20 a.m. while the ship was calling at Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, according to a spokesperson for the line.
The crew members were third engineer Joseph Terrado and wiper Wawan Gusnawan. Terrado was from the Philippines and Gusnawan was from Indonesia.
"All of us at Holland America Line are deeply saddened by this event," the spokesperson said in an emailed statement. "We’ve been in contact with the families of both team members and are offering our support to them and to all of our crew at this difficult time."
Nieuw Amsterdam was sailing a week-long Eastern Caribbean cruise that departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 16, according to CruiseMapper . The ship returned to Fort Lauderdale around two hours late on Saturday, and left for its next cruise about three hours late.
The vessel will visit Ocho Rios in Jamaica on Tuesday.
"The Bahamas Maritime Authority and the Dutch Safety Board are currently investigating. Safety is always our top priority, and we are working to understand what, if anything, can be learned from this tragic accident," the spokesperson said, noting that earlier reports that the crew members died in a fire on board were incorrect.
The BMA and the Dutch Safety Board did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's requests for comment.
