Middle Of The Ocean by Drake

yacht lyrics drake

Songfacts®:

  • "Middle of the Ocean" is one of four solo Drake songs on his collaborative studio album with 21 Savage, Her Loss . This track comprises an intro, one long verse, and an outro by Drizzy's former Cash Money boss, Birdman.
  • Drake introduces the song by boasting about his opulent lifestyle. The Toronto MC brags he's staying in a luxury suite at the Byblos hotel in Saint-Tropez, while partying on the Vava II yacht. He continues to flex about the high life on his verse, with bars about the expensive food he's enjoying on the French Riviera.
  • Drake's most buzz-worthy rhymes on the track are where he disses Serena Williams' husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. Drake was reportedly romantically involved with the tennis star before Ohanian came into the picture. Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie He claim we don't got a problem but No, boo, it is like you comin' for sushi We might pop up on 'em at will like Suzuki Drake is letting Ohanian know they still got beef. The entrepreneur responded by tweeting: "The reason I stay winning is because I'm relentless about being the best at whatever I do – including being the best groupie for my wife and daughter."
  • Birdman also relishes the rich life on the outro, where he talks about being in a "million dollar spot... in the middle of the ocean."
  • Ozan "Oz" Yildirim produced the track. It's one of four Her Loss songs he contributed towards, along with " On BS ," "Treacherous Twins" and "3AM on Glenwood."
  • Oz samples the string instrumentation for hip-hop collective The Diplomats' "Real Niggas," which kicks in halfway through Drake's verse. A sample of The O'Jays 1978 track "Cry Together" backs Birdman's outro.

Billie Eilish Met Gala 2023

Billie Eilish Slyly Acknowledged Lil Yachty’s Crass Lyrics About Her Body On Drake’s New Album

Megan Armstrong

Billie Eilish can be self-deprecating. Last week, the singer and Finneas , her brother and closest collaborator , stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to call “Bad Guy” “objectively…like, the stupidest song in the world.” (Agree to disagree.) Annually, she sits down for the “ Same Interview ” with Vanity Fair to reflect upon and occasionally poke fun at past versions of herself. That said, Eilish won’t stand for unsolicited slights from other people.

Lil Yachty is the featured artist on “ Another Late Night ” from Drake’s newly No. 1 For All The Dogs album. Within his verse, he crassly raps, “I let her go, she fine as hell but baby wasn’t stylish / She had big t*ts like Billie Eilish, but she couldn’t sing (Drip).”

On Wednesday, October 18, Eilish posted an Instagram carousel to remind everyone that nothing gets by her. The second of 10 photos is a screenshot of Yachty’s bar about her. The carousel also revealed a gigantic back tattoo , running from the nape of her neck clear down to her lower back.

Eilish’s spontaneous Instagram candids will have to satisfy her fans for now, as she recently confirmed on Westwood One’s The Cookout that “ there is no documentary ” in her immediate plans, though she left the door open for one “someday.”

Drake and Lil Yachty Have "Another Long Night" in New Music Video

Helmed by cole bennett of lyrical lemonade..

Drake and Lil Yachty have debuted a music video for their  For All the Dogs   joint, “Another Long Night.”

The visual is helmed by Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade and marks Drizzy’s first collaboration with the director. Set at night, just as the title suggests, the video shows the pair doing some fun, late-night activities such as driving around the city and getting tattoos. Bennett explained in a previous interview that the music video was filmed in Maple Ridge in Vancouver, which “felt the most tucked away and ducked off, and it was surrounded by trees, and it just felt like the safest place to do it and a place where the artist could feel comfortable.”

People are freaking out over how nice Drake's new yacht is

Latest Videos

While the rest of us have been suffering under lockdown by working long days alone inside our tiny apartments or patiently waiting on our next CRB or EI payment, Drake has continued living his characteristically lavish lifestyle, which has so far in 2021 included enjoying a brand new yacht.

The rapper, who spent his free time earlier in the pandemic showing off  footage of his  sumptuous Toronto estate  and relaxing on a beach in Barbados , made a cryptic social media post this week that appeared to show a hallway of a lavish home, though not one fans had seen before.

he's living in GTA Online while we're stuck in Fallout — scrit (not a financial advisor) (@scritmusic_) January 4, 2021

Upon a closer inspection, one picks up on the fine print reading "Yacht finishes all 2021," revealing that the shot was taken not inside a mansion, but a boat.

So that’s a boat? 🥺🥺 Epi lajan pa fe bonè 😆 — MARTIN 24 ♋️🤞🏾🔌 (@TheAwesomeMe24) January 4, 2021

Speaking as someone who has never stepped foot on any sort of yacht in her life, it's hard to imagine what sort of luxe furnishings Aubrey would have decked his new, surely custom purchase out in, but if the sole photo cirulating online is any indication, it's nicer than most homes.

And it's no secret that the yachts of the ultra-rich can get pretty damn jaw-dropping , fitted with everything from basketball courts and recording studios to cinemas and heli pads.

Hopefully exciting the public with his nautical forays will distract everyone from his new hairstyle, photos of which did not go over well .

Billie Eilish Co-Signs Lil Yachty's NSFW Lyrics About Her From Drake's Album

Billie Eilish didn't seem to mind the shout out.

Variety 2021 Music Hitmakers Brunch Presented By Peacock and GIRLS5EVA - Arrivals

Billie Eilish is easily one of the biggest pop stars in the entire world . Overall, she is someone who is constantly being referenced in songs. For instance, she is the title of a viral hit that took TikTok by storm. However, the artist has taken quite a bit of time in between her latest project and now. It remains to be seen when she is going to drop a new album. That said, her fans are always curious as to what she has planned. For now, the artist just wants to take advantage of her free time, which is always a good idea.

As for her being referenced in songs, you may have noticed that she is namedropped on the new Drake album. On For All The Dogs , Drake teams up with Lil Yachty on the track "Another Late Night." During this track, Yachty comes through with some NSFW bars in which he says, "I let her go, she fine as hell but baby wasn’t stylish / She had big t*ts like Billie Eilish, but she couldn’t sing (Drip).” Well, as it turns out, Billie heard the lyrics, and she is actually a fan.

Billie Eilish Reacts

In the Instagram post above, you can see a photo dump of sorts. Throughout the images, you will see Eilish's new back tattoo, as well as some of the activities she has been doing. On the second image, however, we get a lyric card from "Another Late Night," and wouldn't you know it, it is of Yachty's aforementioned bars. Simply put, it appears as though Eilish is co-signing what Yachty had to say. Eilish could have very easily been offended, but instead, she has decided to take it in stride.

Perhaps Eilish and Yachty can give us a collab sometime soon. They both like to experiment with sound, and we think a collab between these two would be very interesting. Let us know what you think of Eilish's response to Yachty, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

On a yacht, him and all the dogs.

Drake was seen chartering a megayacht that costs a whopping $660,000 a week while enjoying a European vacation with friends.

“this is the story about the boy that never gave up- starring moi,” the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper captioned a series of photos from his sea-side adventure on Tuesday.

Drake, 35, shared a photo where he was seen seated on the edge of a dingy with the massive floater in the background as the sun set behind him.

He also shared a sneak peek aboard the yacht where the lavish deck included a swimming pool and plush seating. Inside, a long dining table was seen lined with candles and Drake also shared a silly video of his best friend Chubbs dancing with another pal as guests enjoyed cocktails.

The pricey 238-foot superyacht, dubbed “Coral Ocean,” includes a sun lounge with a glass-bottom spa pool, a sky lounge with a full-service bar and a sound system, and a decked-out master bedroom that has skylights and panoramic views, according to the boat’s website.

“The master bedroom has everything you desire, including his and her en-suites with infrared sauna, hair salon facilities … as well as a private lounge area,” the website boasts.

Aboard, there at 22 crew members including beauty therapists that can give massages and manicures, a private chef that can cook meals for up to 30 guests, several stewardesses and deckhands, and of course, a captain.

There are also eight bedroom suites, a full gym, a steam room, a Jacuzzi, and Dior and iKou beauty products.

And the yacht is stocked with waterskis, paddle boats, jet skis, inflatable toys, an electric surfboard, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, swimming noodles and more.

Drake posted about traveling to Ibiza, Spain with his entourage earlier this week.

“Who’s daaaaaaat???” he captioned a photo of him with pals in front of a sign that read “Welcome to Ibiza.”

Drake in California in October 2021.

His Euro-trip comes just days after reports surfaced that Drake was allegedly arrested on drug-related charges in Sweden, causing the hashtag #FreeDrake to trend on Twitter. And while his team initially denied he was arrested, Drake posted about the rights people have if detained in Sweden days later , hinting that he had some sort of run-in with the cops abroad.

Drake is no stranger to traveling in style. He arrived to Sweden via his private jet, “Air Drake.”

Decoding Kendrick Lamar’s Latest Track Unpacking the Renewed Rap Beef with Drake and J. Cole

I n the ever-evolving landscape of hip-hop, feuds and beefs often capture the attention of fans and pundits alike. The recent release of Kendrick Lamar’s latest track has reignited speculation and analysis, with many interpreting his lyrics as subtle jabs at fellow rap heavyweights Drake and J. Cole. Here’s a deep dive into the dynamics of this ongoing saga and what it means for the rap industry.

The New Diss Track

Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That,” a song from Future and Metro Boomin’s joint album, has stirred controversy within the hip-hop community. In his lyrics, Lamar appears to take aim at Drake and J. Cole, referencing their collaborative song “First Person Shooter” and delivering what fans perceive as veiled disses.

Deciphering the Lyrics

Lamar’s lyrics on “Like That” are laden with metaphorical references and subtle digs, leaving listeners to interpret their meaning. He addresses the concept of “sneak dissing,” possibly alluding to tensions within the rap community. The mention of “three switches” and “big three” sparks speculation about a direct response to Drake and J. Cole’s perceived dominance in the industry.

The Drake Factor

Lamar’s apparent diss at Drake raises eyebrows, particularly with his mention of Drake’s latest album “For All The Dogs.” The reference to “Pet Sematary” and the imagery of burial suggest a deeper layer of animosity, hinting at a desire to bury Drake and his associates metaphorically in the rap game.

The History of Beef

The rift between Lamar and Drake dates back over a decade, marked by a mix of collaboration and competition. Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control” in 2013 sparked controversy, with many interpreting his lyrics as a challenge to his rap peers, including Drake. Subsequent exchanges and subtle references in their music have fueled speculation about underlying tensions between the two artists.

J. Cole in the Mix

While much of the focus has been on Lamar’s apparent shots at Drake, his mention of the “big three” could also implicate J. Cole. The rap trio, consisting of Lamar, Drake, and Cole, has been a subject of speculation and comparison among fans and critics. Lamar’s dismissal of the “big three” narrative suggests a desire to assert his individuality and dominance in the rap landscape.

The Impact on the Industry

Rap beefs have long been a staple of hip-hop culture, generating buzz and driving record sales. The renewed tension between Lamar, Drake, and Cole could fuel anticipation for future releases and collaborations, as fans eagerly await each artist’s response.

A Testament to Hip-Hop’s Dynamism

As Kendrick Lamar’s latest track sparks debate and speculation, it underscores the ever-shifting dynamics of the rap industry. While beefs may come and go, they serve as a testament to the competitive spirit and creative energy that drive hip-hop forward. As fans dissect and analyze Lamar’s lyrics, one thing is clear: the rap game remains as vibrant and unpredictable as ever.

Lamar’s vitriol didn’t stop there, as he continued firing more shots at the “Big As the What” duo. “Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/ Motherf–k the Big 3, n—a, it’s just big me,” he snarled. Lamar then seemingly aimed directly at Drake, saying: “‘Fore all your dogs gettin’ buried, that’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see  Pet Sematary .” For context, Drake’s last album was 2023’s  For All The Dogs .

Drake and J. Cole are on the road together for their It’s All a Blur Tour — Big As The What, whose title originated from their Hot 100 chart-topper “First Person Shooter.” In addition, the rap twosome linked up again following the success of said track on Drake’s Scary Hours Edition of For All The Dogs for “Evil Ways.”

Kendrick Lamar Comes Out of Hibernation Swinging

Portrait of Zoe Guy

We’ve all been wondering what could get Kendrick Lamar to dust off his pen , and it turns out all we needed was his Spidey senses to peep some corniness wafting off Drake and J. Cole. Kung Fu Kenny emerged from his dormant state for a surprise diss on “Like That,” a track off Future and Metro Boomin’s new album, We Don’t Trust You, out March 22. In his verse, he responds to lyrics from Drake and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter” where the latter raps, “Love when they argue the hardest MC / Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? / We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.” Drake, for his part, says he’s “one away from Michael” as in, Jackson. Okay.

Their duet seems to have puzzled Lamar, who begins his verse on “Like That” with the rap, “These niggas talkin’ out of they necks,” and “Say, it’s a lot of goofies with a check.” Clearly, he’s confused by the gall to group Lamar with this company. Referencing Cole’s nonsense, he spits, “Motherfuck the big three, nigga, it’s just big me / Nigga, bum, what? I’m really like that / And your best work is a light pack / Nigga, Prince outlived Mike Jack’ / Nigga, bum, ‘for all your dogs gettin’ buried.” Kenny wasn’t kidding when he said he chose “violence” in the track.

A casualty in the crossfire is Big Sean, who’s getting dusted by Lamar. Once again, a K.Dot verse is overshadowing Big Sean’s moment. Just as when Lamar bodied his diss on Big Sean’s “Control” in 2013, the buzz from the Compton rapper’s surprise verse on “Like That” eclipsed Big Sean’s new single “Precision,” which arrived the same day. A triple homicide, if you will. Below, how Twitter reacted to Lamar’s provocation.

Kendrick Lamar made an uncredited appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album “We Don’t Trust You,” and with it delivered a series of apparently sharp, pointed words for Drake and J. Cole .

Lamar, whose fiery verse lights up “Like That,” steals the spotlight on the track, where he addresses a few bars from Drake and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter” included on the former’s “For All the Dogs.” On that song, which released last year, J. Cole makes mention of the “big three,” referring to Lamar, Drake and himself: “Love when they argue the hardest emcee / Is it K. Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? / We the big three like we started a league.”

On “Like That,” Lamar directly references the rappers’ bars and comes gunning for them. “Yeah get up with me, fuck sneak dissing / ‘First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches,” he raps, later adding, “Motherfuck the big three, n—a, it’s just big me.”

Later in the verse, he comes for the quality of their music and says that his legacy will outlast their influence, comparing himself to Prince and his relationship to Michael Jackson. “Your best work is a light pack / N—a, Prince outlived Mike Jack / N—a, bum, ‘fore all your dogs get buried / That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”

This isn’t the first time that Lamar has stirred up controversy by directly referencing his peers. In 2013, he delivered a scene-stealing verse on Big Sean’s “Control,” also featuring Jay Electronica, running down a list of rappers and stating that while he has love for all of them, he sees them as competitors and intends to bring them down.

While Lamar’s verse on “Like That” was certainly the most newsworthy moment from the album, Future and Metro Boomin’s long-awaited collaborative project “We Don’t Trust You” arrived on Friday, marking the first of two releases from the pair. The second, which is currently untitled, will be released on April 12.

Kendrick Lamar Disses Drake and J. Cole on New Song

At long last , Future and Metro Boomin 's new album We Don't Trust You has touched down. The song "Like That" is going viral due to Kendrick Lamar  appearing to take shots at Drake and J. Cole  on the track.

Kendrick Lamar Sends Shots on "Like That" Off New We Don't Trust You Album

Kendrick Lamar is one of multiple uncredited features on Future and Metro's new album, which arrived Friday (March 22). On the track "Like That," he seems to have pointed bars for Drizzy and Cole. Kendrick takes aim at the rap triumvirate fans have dubbed the "Big three": Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole as the three best rappers alive.

"Sneak dissin', first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches," K-Dot raps. "I crash out, like, 'F**k rap,' this Melle Mell if I had to/Got two Ts with me, I'm snatchin' chains and burnin' tattoos, it's up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain't Andre 3K/Think I won't drop the location? I still got PTSD/Muthaf**k the big three, n***a, it's just big me/N***a, bum, what? I'm really like that."

Big sean goes at big three.

The verse from Kendrick comes on the heels of Big Sean releasing a new freestyle  a day before Kendrick let his lyrics fly. On Sean Don's song, he also goes at rap's "big three."

"I think where I lack most as an artist is consistency/I just haven’t had the energy to compete with enemies/Or y’all so-called bigger three/But every verse I lay, fans love to say, 'Man, n***as is sleep!'" Sean delivers.

Kendrick Lamar Seemingly Throws Shots At Drake, J. Cole On New Track: What To Know About The Rap Beef

Social media erupted Friday after rapper Kendrick Lamar potentially dissed Drake and J. Cole in a new song from Future and Metro Boomin’s new joint album, reigniting a decade-long rap beef.

Recording artist Kendrick Lamar performs on the Samsung Stage during day two at Austin City Limits ... [+] Music Festival 2016.

Rapper Future and music producer Metro Boomin dropped their anticipated joint album titled “We Don’t Trust You” on Friday featuring artists including Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, The Weeknd, Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar was featured on the song “Like That,” and sent social media in a frenzy after seemingly dissing rappers Drake and J. Cole, with lyrical references to the pair’s joint song released in 2023 titled “First Person Shooter.”

“Yeah, get up with me, f– sneak dissing/ ‘First Person Shooter’/ I hope they came with three switches,” Lamar rapped; glock switches are gun attachments that illegally modify rifles or handguns to shoot like machine guns.

Lamar continues, adding “think I won’t drop the location/ I still got PTSD, motherf– the big three, it’s just big me,” which may be in reference to a line on “First Person Shooter” in which Cole refers to Lamar, Drake and himself as the “big three” of rap.

Lamar then seemingly took a direct diss at Drake by referencing the Canadian rapper’s latest album “For All The Dogs” by saying “‘fore all your dogs gettin’ buried/ that’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see ‘Pet Sematary.’”

402,000. That’s how many album units Drake’s “For All the Dogs” sold in its first week, according to Billboard. This gave Drake his 13th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, breaking his tie with Taylor Swift for having the third-most No. 1 hit albums. However, the two later tied again after Swift gained her 13th No. 1 in November with the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” They’re only topped by Jay-Z with 14 and the Beatles with 19.

Key Background

Drake and Lamar’s history is complicated and spans more than 10 years as the duo has collaborated on several songs and albums including “Poetic Justice” and “F– Problems.” Lamar even accompanied Drake on his Club Paradise Tour in 2012, which sold almost 750,000 tickets and grossed nearly $43 million. However, their rap beef seemingly went public after Lamar’s August 2013 verse on Big Sean’s song “Control,” in which he called out several rappers—including Drake, J. Cole, Big Sean, Mac Miller and A$AP Rocky—by saying “I got love for you all, but I'm tryna murder you/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you/ They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you.” Drake responded to the diss later that month in an interview with Billboard: "It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me,” he said. “I know good and well that Kendrick's not murdering me, at all, in any platform.” After Drake dropped his fourth album “Nothing Was the Same” in October of that year, speculation about whether Lamar dissed him in October 2013 during the BET Hip-Hop Awards Cyphers grew. Lamar rapped “Yeah, and nothing's been the same since they dropped ‘Control’/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes.” Former NFL player Marcellus Wiley then alleged in 2016 there was “beef” between the two rappers. He claimed there was a scrapped 2013 interview that he reportedly witnessed from one of the rappers—he declined to mention who—that “would have ignited” an even bigger beef. Drake said he has “a lot of respect” for Cole and Lamar in a 2019 interview , adding he’s excited to see “who can go that extra stretch… who can transcend the generations.”

Drake and Cole announced their joint tour titled “It’s All a Blur Tour — Big as the What?” in November, which was slated to kick off in January, but got postponed to February for unknown reasons. This is an extension of Drake’s 2023 joint “It’s All a Blur Tour” with 21 Savage. Drake is set to end the tour on April 5 in New Jersey, accompanied by Lil Wayne.
