Built exclusively at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy, the Pershing 140 is the culmination of the collaborative efforts of naval architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s engineering team and the brand’s product strategy committee.

The most unique feature of the Pershing 140 is her beach club area with fold-out panels on three sides, creating an on-water lounge space that rivals other superyachts on the water. This space flows easily onto the main-deck aft open-air lounge and dining area and up to the sundeck, allowing for easy access to and enjoyment of the yacht’s alfresco spaces.

The main deck features sunpads and a lounge space furthest aft. Moving forward, there is a covered dining table for 10. Stepping inside, the yacht’s full-beam main salon is flanked by windows that flood the space with natural light. Further forward is a formal dining table for 12. The owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck. This full-beam sanctuary features an en-suite his-and-hers bathroom that can be outfitted to an owner’s specifications. The first edition of the Pershing 140 featured a private lounge and walk-in closet.

The lower deck of the Pershing 140 is home to the remaining guest staterooms, two doubles and two twins. Each stateroom is outfitted with an en-suite bathroom.

The sundeck of the Pershing 140 is easily a favorite space. An aluminum hardtop offers shade and protection. Situated underneath is a full bar and a lounge area as well as a barbecue grill. ABOUT PERSHING YACHTS It started out as a simple shipyard in 1981 when three Italian friends Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti, and Giuliano Onori founded Cantiere Navale dell’Adriatico in Mondolfo, Italy. They built laminate boats but soon became more interested in motor yachts.

VESSEL INNOVATION BY PERSHING YACHTS Pershing’s first boat, a 45’ open yacht, delivered what they wanted: An abundance of power in an opulent package, but they didn’t stop there. Innovations continued.

Description

In 2015, at the boat show in Monaco, the creation of the 43-meter Pershing 140 superyacht was announced, and the world premiere took place at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco in 2019. This is the longest brand yacht and the first all-aluminum.

The exterior was designed with Fulvio de Simoni, but differs significantly from previous models: a steel grille and a straight nose shape, glazing of the upper deck and hardtop.

On the upper deck there is a control post, dining and lounge areas, a solarium and a hard-top with an opening section. A 50-square-meter flybridge is partially covered by a hardtop.

The bow deck is closed by a sliding panel. The cockpit is two-level and raised: the dining area and lounge are on the same level, the lounge and the relaxation area are on the other and are separated by a reling. The living room is framed by a superstructure with two-winged arches. The beach club is enlarged by the hinged sides, the transom cover forms a canopy over the swimming platform. The garage houses a Williams 565 trailer and a jet ski.

The layout of the yacht provides for five cabins: a master on the main deck and four guest rooms on the lower. Cabins for a crew of seven on the lower deck, from there there is access to the engine room and garage. Corridors and exits for guests and teams are separated. The interior of the yacht is made at the choice of the owner.

Pershing 140 suggests choosing engines equipped with water jets. Two MTU 4000 for 3460 hp provide speed of 24 knots, two M93L of 4613 hp increase it to 33, and a maximum of 35-38 will provide four MTU engines with a capacity of 2600 hp

Certification A is designed for short and sea cruises. Range 1400 miles at a speed of 10 knots.

The brand’s new flagship marks its entry into a new design and manufacturing era. Craftsmanship and expertise, generated over more than 30 years of spearheading experience, combine with an inborn thrust towards innovative design, technology and aesthetics, officially marking the brand’s entry into the superyacht sector: it is the launch of Pershing 140, the brand’s new flagship and the first Pershing to be manufactured in aluminium. A result of the collaboration between architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee (led by engineer Piero Ferrari), and the Group’s Engineering Department, the new 140-foot yacht is the first Pershing manufactured at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona. Developed into 3 spacious decks, the new flagship emanates prowess on water, showcasing the “thrill” that only Pershing can offer. The project’s philosophy is based on the will to maintain Pershing’s unequalled performance, albeit with different class weights and dimensions: those of a superyacht. The hull platform was specifically designed for high performance, featuring excellent hydrodynamic capabilities at high speeds and the propulsion of 4 MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, each of 2,600 HP, thus achieving the target of taking the first 43.30-metre LOA Pershing superyacht to a top speed of 38 knots. But Pershing 140 is not only the brand’s first superyacht to boast outstanding performance; it is also the first to feature a raised cockpit directly connected to the sun deck; the first to have an owner-dedicated area on the main deck and the first to maximise the enjoyability of all the decks and outdoor areas. This achievement was made possible by joining them all into a beach club area, which becomes expandable thanks to three fold-out sides. Stylistically, the new flagship stands out for its sleek lines, emblematic of the brand’s sporty and competitive character. This feature is further enhanced by the on-demand application of a steel grid on the bow. Moreover, it combines design innovations with some of the brand’s most iconic details, such as the two lateral wings, that are integrated into its superstructure and then connected at the start of the walkways to the gunwale. The prow, which is instead decidedly contemporary in design, contributes to enhance the model’s aerodynamics. The whole area of the bow moorings is concealed, operated with an automatic up/down mechanism to maintain the streamlined design aesthetic. Turning now to the interior, Pershing 140 owners can design their superyacht assisted by the designers of the Studio Fulvio De Simoni Firm and by the Project Architects of the Superyacht Yard of Ferretti Group. The entire interior design is tailored to mirror the owner’s style, by making additions to or modifying the layout options offered by the shipyard. MAIN DECK The new Pershing 140 features an original layout of the aft area, configured as a raised cockpit that becomes a mezzanine level: this creates a large waterside space that rises from the water up to the sun deck and joins together the entire aft section. This revolutionary design produces a vast waterside beach club, entirely accessible and furnishable with stools, chairs and freestanding pieces. The garage can accommodate both a Williams 565 tender and a jet ski. Launching and hauling operations are carried out by opening the two side hatches on the port side. Around the cockpit, the mezzanine assures greater privacy: a first sunbathing area protects the second cockpit lounge against intrusive looks. The latter is furnished with a table seating 10 people that can be reached by walking down a few steps towards the bow, and it is protected on the sides by large glass panels installed on the topsides. Designed to guarantee utmost comfort, this spatial solution enables the owner to enjoy an area that possesses all the benefits of sitting in an outdoors but private place, and facilitates the passage of guests, who can easily walk across outdoor areas or walk on the main deck and enter the saloon after passing through the lounge. After walking through the glass door into the cockpit, you access an open space flooded with natural light and organised into two areas: first the living area, followed by the dining area. The central area of the main deck leads to the crew quarters on one side and to the owner’s suite on the other side. On the left-hand side, a passageway ushers into the cockpit or into the day toilet. This area also hosts the master cabin. Still on the left-hand side, a door placed on the external walkway opens onto the stairs leading down to the area below decks, which accommodates the kitchen and the crew quarters. On the opposite side, walking towards the bow, you first come to a hallway where stairs lead down to the guest suites. Proceeding further, you enter the owner’s quarters: a grand full beam owner’s private suite, that the owner can modify and decorate at will. Yard-fitted with a double bed, a walk-in closet on the left-hand side and a parlour on the right, it enjoys a magnificent view. The large bathroom, fitted with a shower separated from the bathtub, as well as the toilet and bidet on the two topsides, is located at the head of the bow. On the first unit, the owner has decided to install an entertainment room, eliminating the bed to make room for sofas and seats, tables and a big TV screen. LOWER DECK The space below decks accommodates four comfortable guest suites, of which 2 have double beds and 2 have twin beds, all with their own closet and en suite bathroom. Maximum comfort is also given to the crew area: after walking through a lobby, the staff can access a large kitchen on the left, separated from the dinette by a door on the right and, proceeding towards the bow, there are three bunk-bed bedrooms, all with a private bathroom. From the lobby, the crew can also have direct access to the engine room and to the garage. SUNDECK AND BOW AREA The upper deck of the Pershing 140 is perfectly in line with the overall privacy assured to the central part, which is protected by an aluminium hard-top. Conceived as a spacious panoramic terrace, it is entirely furnishable with freestanding pieces, and it can be accessed by walking up from the mezzanine deck or from the raised cockpit. The latter is connected to the second control station, in case of wanting to steer the flagship from the outside. Perfect for entertaining, the upper deck also hosts a bar and grill area, a total-relaxation area with a sun pad and, exclusively on the first unit, a projector and screen (both removable) and fixed loudspeakers. The ample forward outdoor spaces, only accessible through the lateral walkways, offer an area with a large sun pad just before a full-fledged concealed lounge equipped with a Jacuzzi, an inset dinette with two seats, a table and a sunbathing area. This area is only revealed when the yacht is anchored or moored while, during navigation, it is covered by a sliding platform, thus contributing to the streamlined sleekness of the external lines. The arrangement of this private area, as well as many others, can be completely tailored to the owner’s tastes. PROPULSION The hull number one of Pershing 140 installs four MTU 16 V 2000 M96L engines, each with 2,600 HP. The hydro-jet propulsion assures excellent performance levels, both at cruising and maximum speed, which can achieve 35 knots and 38 knots respectively. Consistent with the DNA of the Pershing range, the domotics and electronic systems are all state-of-the-art. And, in line with Ferretti Group’s tradition of making high performance its core value, while also ensuring maximum wellbeing and relaxation, the new 140-footer is equipped with 3 Seakeeper 35 to assure top comfort also at anchor, after experiencing a day marked by the “thrill” that only a Pershing can give.

The Pershing 140 is Pershing’s first all-aluminium superyacht with a raised helm station directly connected to the sun deck, featuring a dedicated owner’s area on the main deck and a beach area that can be fully opened on three sides.

With four 16 V MTUs of 2600 hp each, the Pershing 140 combines electronic systems, home automation and three Seakeeper 35s for absolute well-being and comfort, propelled forward by hydrojet propulsion.

The aerodynamic design and distinctly contemporary lines are shown in iconic details such as the two side wings and the automatic up/down mooring cover mechanism. With its revolutionary interior layout, it guarantees maximum comfort on board.

All of the on-board décor is made to measure for the owner, like a classy suit to be adapted and shared in all its magnificent forms.

The Pershing 140 is not only Pershing's first all-aluminum super yacht. She is also the first yacht with an elevated helmstand that is directly connected to the sun deck. She is also the first yacht with a raised steering position directly connected to the sundeck and the first yacht to have a fully open beach area on the main deck.

The profile of the Pershing 140 shows the sleek lines that symbolize the brand's sporty, competitive spirit, enhanced by iconic details such as the two side wings integrated into the superstructure at the beginning of the catwalks. The distinctly contemporary shape of the bow improves the model's aerodynamics, which are ensured by the anchorage cover with an automatic up-and-down mechanism that maintains the streamlined design.

Crew is one of the largest expenses on a superyacht and critical to the owner’s enjoyment of their vessel. As the largest crew agency in the world, we know crew. Our cost calculator contains customized crew lists for yachts ranging from 80ft to 600ft with salary information based on our reference verified salary data.

Our users also have the ability to completely tailor the crew list to the specific needs, schedule and requirements of their vessel. Each yacht is unique and may have specific owner requests in addition to the yacht’s safe manning requirements.

Management of the supplemental crew costs and strategic budgeting can help avoid significant overspend on categories such as food and uniform. This tool contains default values based on our industry expertise and recommended budget for an efficiently and safely run superyacht.

Our chart of accounts displays seven major categories, 20 sub-categories plus a further 80 detail categories for a total of 107.

Our yacht operating cost calculator is now on it’s third major revision. We start with actual yacht expense data from our yacht management accountants and then generate formulas to extrapolate out the budget for a wide range of yachts. We have been providing accounting services to large yachts for the past 18 years.

Our operating cost calculator is tuned for yachts from 80 to 600 feet. We find operating variables create the largest variances for yachts smaller than 100 feet and larger than 250 feet. We have tested the numbers the most in the range from 100 to 250 feet.

Our budget calculator factors in the fuel burn for a range of engine sizes typically seen installed on yachts by length. By dragging the green “fuel dockage” slider to the right you will increase the projected fuel burn rate and therefore the budget cost for fuel. Our default position would be for a typical displacement fuel burn. Position the slider in the 60-80% range for fuel projections for planning hulls.

Our default values produce a budget number that we believe is generous to run a yacht to a high standard. Perfect is a very expensive word to use in the yachting industry where standards are already high. Moving the crew and maintenance sliders to 80% will provide an “industry best” quality of crew and give them the maintenance budget to operate to a very high standard. If you need to go over the 80% area then you may have unusually labor intensive equipment on the yacht.

Yes, our yacht operating cost calculator can output a budget suitable for this situation. Adjust the owner use to 2 (minimum value), owner slider to 0, crew slider to 10%, Administration to 10%, Fuel and Dockage to 0, Maintenance to 10% and then Capital Repairs to 0. This will remove all of the large charges associated with owner use and vessel movement but leave the essential base maintenance and insurance in place.

Lift on and float in yacht transport is a popular way to transport yachts across large ocean passage. The yachts that this service certainly applies to are ones that may not have the motoring range or structural integrity for blue ocean cruising. The cost of transporting a yacht twice per year is put into our budget once the “Fuel Dockage” slider hits 75%. If your yacht has the range we recommend self-sufficient ocean passages whenever possible. Whilst the transport companies sell their services based upon reportedly well oiled operated schedules the reality is that your yacht may stay waiting for pickup for a week or more with no compensation due. When factoring in all secondary factors of self-sufficient passages (increased fuel, maintenance, potential storm damage, crew time off, extra delivery crew) compared with transporting your yacht (insurance, potential loading / unloading damage, loss of schedule control, no work whilst underway, crew flights, crew accommodation) we believe that there is a 100% premium associated with float in transport and a 75% premium with lift on transport compared with self-powered.

Abandoned yachts crash in value. We recommend that even if you are trying to sell your yacht that you use the yacht for a minimum of two weeks per year so that systems are tested and working every six months. There is nothing worse for a yacht than not being used. If you truly are not going to use the yacht then you should sell it immediately for the first genuine offer as every dollar you put into maintenance will not be recovered at the time of the sale.

We did not build this version with sailing yachts in mind. Early in our development of this version we decided to exclude sailing yachts as a few of the major cost drivers scale very differently for sailing yachts compared with motor yachts. For example: To calculate paint costs we reviewed the surface area of over 100 large yachts and created a formula for painted surface area to length. Sailing yachts just don’t scale in a consistent way. Similarly crew numbers don’t scale in the same manner that they do for motor yachts. If there is sufficient demand we may build a sailing selector switch into a future version of this tool.

We hate to hear when yacht owners were told by their broker to factor in 10% of the purchase price to operate the yacht. This over used saying is sadly right occasionally (particularly for newer yachts in the $20-30M range)… but just because a broken watch tells the right time twice a day you shouldn’t rely upon it to tell the time. As yachts get older their capital value decreases but their maintenance costs increase. There is no way that a fixed 10% of purchase cost rule can be true… if your broker told you this rule then you need a new yacht broker… we know some good ones. 😊
