About the General Jackson Showboat

The General Jackson is one of the largest Nashville boat and river cruises in the country and its dock is found on the Cumberland River. Having launched its cruises in 1985, it has provided quality entertainment, live music, and fun to visitors for more than three decades. It is named after the first steamboat to travel in Nashville in 1817. Thousands of people have enjoyed this famous attraction, which is famous for its stately design and special event cruises, drawing in thousands of travelers every year to view its entertainment options. The boat itself has a lot of stunning features, with a length of 274 feet and a towering height of 55 feet, massive decks, and stunning views.

The Nashville river boat can carry up to 1,037 passengers and 135 crew at a time during max capacity. It also features one of the largest paddlewheels that is 36 feet long and 24 feet in diameter. Just the paddlewheel weighs 36,000 pounds! This massive boat has a total weight of 1,489 tons. It travels at an average speed of approximately 5 - 8 miles per hour. Join us on Boston Harbor aboard the M/V Music City Queen on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 for the event of the Summer. The Music City Queen is an ornamental sternwheeler named after the city that sits along the banks of the Cumberland River (Nashville).

The boat will board at 2:00pm and leave the rowes wharf dock for a 3-hour tour around boston harbor with reggae music, dancing and the summer ocean breeze. , attendees can expect not one, but two fantastic reggae bands from new england, raffles, giveaways, voter registration from headcount and more. there will be a full cash bar on board with light snacks and beverages. , participating bands:, over the bridge (otb) is a reggae-rock infused good time jam band with strong hip-hop influences raised by that dirty water on the north shore of massachusetts (gloucester). the boys of otb individually have been making music for over a decade, and together their different influences combine to create a style that is refreshingly original. a modern adaptation of reggae, beach rock, and hip-hop with lyrics that speak tales of the struggle of real life and love., their highly anticipated self titled debut album released in early 2022 at #1 on the itunes reggae charts. following 2021 release singles one by one topping the itunes reggae charts with their last four straight – #5 dreamin’, #7 right back, and #8 apple tree #6 balance. with the album out and live music back in full swing, expect to see new shows across the us, as well as new music projects in the near future., the reflexions are a burlington, vt based reggae/funk band blending world music grooves with conscious lyrics focused on love, equality and justice. the band features a deep groove-based foundation of drums, percussion and bass that are complimented by beautiful textures and hard hitting melodies provided by keys, guitar and a powerhouse horn section. the reflexions bring a big energy to every stage they play and will have you on your feet dancing from the first note to the last drum hit.

Fun crew! It was easy to make reservations on line and they were easy to communicate with before hand. on their website they stated we will get wet so I called them about that. we didn't get very wet at all. They shuttled us from the end to the start and set us up and sent us on our way. once on the river we enjoyed ourselves until we realized we weren't paddling fast enough. it really took an hour to get to the end. the last 1/3 was a great way to see the Nashville skyline. once at the end they pulled us out of the water and we were on the way to broadway. easy peasy.

I really enjoyed this, and it was the perfect midday activity on a beautiful Nashville weekend. Having not kayaked in a long time, it felt great to get out on the water and the river itself is not some raging river to navigate.. if anything we had a bit of a headwind the whole time! It's like kayaking a lake, with the fun exception that some river barges and cruises go by you from time to time. It's not the most scenic route, with the majority of the adventure looking the exact same. It's only at the end that the Cumberland bends around and you see downtown and the finish line. I felt like the challenge level of this is definitely on the lower end, it's something anyone who is semi-active could do and enjoy. The crew was nice, but also a bit vague? I honestly had no idea what to expect having never done this, and they basically push you in and say "you'll go under three bridges, it's approximately a mile and you have one hour." We were slightly worried after pushing off, like, are they going to bill us more if we're five minutes late? Fortunately the timing worked out well and it was a non-issue. All in all, as someone who loves being outdoors I would recommend this for sure and had a good time.

Wonderful experience on the sunset kayak cruise to downtown! Unique and beautiful view of the city. My mother (69 yo) and myself (40 yo) did the sunset kayak cruise to downtown (though we went at noon, not sunset). This is a 3 mile, 1 hr paddle that starts a few miles upstream from downtown, takes you along greenway shoreline, and ends right across from downtown. You can get awesome pictures of downtown, the Batman building and the Korean Veterans bridge from the kayaks! 3 miles is not far. It is an easy, leisurely paddle suitable for all skill levels. I stayed completely dry. Crew members Matt, Karen and Billy helped us into the kayaks on dry land, pushed us off, and then pulled kayak + us back onto dry land at the end. Perfect. The kayaks were the most comfortable sit-upon that I have been in (good back support!) they are stable, easy to get into/out of and paddling was easy. The meet up near Nissan Stadium was well marked and easy to find. Shuttle ride was quick and easy. Definitely recommend.

Great local company. Love the options they offer. My favorite are the lakeside paddle Friday's. I have a season pass so it's great to be able to go all summer.

River Queen Voyages was so fun! We came here for our girls trip and wanted to do something fun on the water. Virginia and Haley greeted us and walked us through the process, as we came in as a walk in without a reservation. Alex and Levi then took us down to where the river began and showed us the strings. We had two people who had not kayaked before and they got on the water with confidence after the instructions. End of story, River Queen Voyages is the #1 kayaking spot in Tennessee. Not only do you get a great time, great views, but also a super cute sticker for free as a cute souvenir!

The pedal pontoon was the highlight of our bachelorette weekend in Nashville. I cannot recommend River Queen Voyages enough. The pontoon has 10 ish pedal spots but you don't have to pedal (and won't after a few drinks). There are coolers in the middle for your beer or seltzer and extra seats for those who do not want to sit on the bikes. The breeze is perfection as you coast down the Cumberland and the views are unmatched. I am a Nashville native and seeing my city from the water was such a treat. The price was fair for a two-hour boat ride/dance party. Being on the water made our 3:45 pm adventure way less hot than if we did a normal on-land pedal tavern and there was no traffic. I will be recommending this adventure to all my friends coming to Nashville in the future. Annie the owner was fantastic, kind, and accommodating and played a huge role in what a great time we had. Supporting a female-owned business is just an extra plus :)

Alex, Hayley, Virginia and Levi are amazing!! Friendly, fun and I can't swim but it was so easy and LaId back, I felt comfortable. Love the experience. Will do it again!!

Had such a good time! Did the greenway 2 hour trip... it was the perfect length for me that day and so nice and cool on the water. Karen, Ben and Levi (sorry I forget everyone else's name!) were super nice. Thanks!!!

We did the cruise yesterday afternoon for a bachelorette party and it was so much fun!! The views from the pontoon were beautiful and the Captain and the tour guide were so great to us. I definitely recommend for a big group.

This themed event will transport you back to the 1920s as you will be surrounded by a slew of movers and shakers all dressed to the nines.

With DJs spinning the best in Top 40, a 3hr cruise, and festive party favors for all; there isn't really much that's missing from this event. To top things off, you will be taking in the best views that the city has to offer from the outside in, and the stunning downtown Boston Skyline.

Parking: No designated parking available on Pier. Highly recommended to allow extra time to find parking day the of the event as there will be lots of traffic.

Dress Code: Dress to impress. Flapper, Roaring 20s, Zoot Suits encouraged. Otherwise, semi-formal and/or cocktail attire required. If you do not meet the dress code; you may NOT be allowed to board and no refund will be given.

Bag Requirements: The only permitted bags that are allowed onboard the vessel must meet the following requirements: All bags must be completely clear and no larger than 6 inches long and 5 inches tall. Any other bags or purses will not be allowed onboard.

Fireworks Show: New Year’s Eve Midnight Fireworks will be taking place at 11:59PM over the inner Boston Harbor between the North End and East Boston neighborhoods of the city. * Disclaimer: if fireworks are not held or not visible for any reason, we are not reasonable for them and no refunds.

Covid-19 Protocol (if any at all) For All Guests will be announced closer to the event date, and will be based on current CDC Guideline and City of Boston's protocols for us to party safely and responsibly.

Additional Information

No alcohol, open containers or outside food permitted. No illegal drugs, or controlled substances, including prescription drugs and marijuana, will be tolerated. Using marijuana on the water is a illegal, regardless of a medical condition(s). Use and or possession of illegal drugs or controlled substances is absolutely prohibited by Hornblower Cruises & Events and the US Coast Guard. 

Hornblower holds a zero tolerance policy related to illegal substances aboard all vessels and anyone who's caught participating or processing any such items will not be allowed to board and substances will be confiscated. If you're thought to be under the influence of or caught participating in illegal substances on board, you'll be quarantined until the boat can safely return to dock. Cruise is subject to end for all guests immediately upon doing.

PURCHASE POLICY

NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. ALL SALES FINAL: There are NO REFUNDS, NO CANCELLATIONS, no credits, no exchanges, and no transfers after the order has been made.

Credit Card & ID:

You must present the original credit card used to purchase the ticket and a valid Government Issued Photo Identification (along with your e-tickets that have been emailed to you via Eventbrite when your order was placed): the name on both the credit card and ID match the name on your purchased tickets, in order to gain entry to the event. If the name on the Credit Card and/or ID does not match the tickets, or if you do not have both the credit card used to make the purchase and government issued identification, you will be denied entry to event without a refund.

Covid Policy:

No credit or refund will be issued as a result of the ticket purchaser or any person in the party contracting COVID-19 or a variant alike. By purchasing tickets to a VIP Nightlife Event, you understand and agree that tickets are non-refundable and you are assuming the risk that you may not be able to use tickets purchased if you contract COVID-19 or variants alike. You further agree that you will not attend any VIP Nightlife event if you currently have symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to COVID-19 prior to attending and/or have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not completed the CDC recommended quarantine period. Be advised attendees may be required to show proof of vaccine and/or a negative test result. As the rules for events vary by location and change often, please check your local listing and respective government authorities for any applicable rules that may apply to you. You will not receive a refund if you are unable to attend an event due to any non-compliance with local rules, event guidelines, vaccine status, or failure to provide a negative test result. However, VIP Nightlife may allow you to transfer your tickets for any reason to another person by having the ticket purchaser email customer service within 24 hours of the event [email protected] with a copy of the original ticket purchaser's photo ID and credit card used to purchase the tickets along with the email address and name of the customer to whom the tickets will be transferred. Please be advised that VIP Nightlife may not be able to honor all requests for transfers if they are made outside of business hours or too close to the time of the actual event.

If you encounter a problem at the event, you must file a complaint with Promoter within 5 calendar days following the date of the event; failure to contact Promoter within the 5-day period will be a complete waiver of your right to request compensation whether monetary or otherwise. Purchase Policy:

By placing an order, you are confirming that you received this policy and are agreeing to abide by the clauses within. This Purchase Policy is a binding contract between you and event Promoter.

Event Booking:

By purchasing a ticket, package or reservation you're entitled to entry to event you're purchasing it for. At the time of your order, Eventbrite will place an order for your ticket(s) in the Promoter’s ticketing system, reducing the number of tickets available for the chosen event. Before purchasing your ticket(s) we urge you to confirm the title, time and location of the event(s) you wish to attend, as there are no refunds. Each event has a definitive date, start time and end time. If you do not show up to the event, you understand that you are forfeiting your ticket(s) and therefore your ticketing fee (the entirety of what you paid) will not be returned to you. If you do not attend your event, you're still 100% financially liable for your purchase. If you cannot attend event, you will not receive refund.

Event Cancellations:

If the event is canceled you will receive a refund for the face value of the ticket.

No Refunds:

Unforeseen circumstances beyond promoter’s control will not be grounds for a refund, including but not limited to the following: local or national weather conditions, natural disasters, waiting in lines, extended waits in lines, family emergencies, medical emergencies, employment issues including layoffs, traffic, parking, public or private transportation issues, etc. If you purchased for the incorrect date, location, event, etc, promoter is not obligated to provide a refund, credit, exchange or transfer. If cancellation or transfer request is approved, promoter reserves the right to charge a $10 administrative fee for its time, in addition to charging a $10 restocking fee per ticket if tickets are placed back on sale. Promoters, Venue Owners, Venue Management, Security, Event Staff, and other agents of the event, have the right to refuse entry to any ticket-holder, without a refund, for any reason at their discretion , including but not limited to: disorderly behavior, failing to comply with the rules of the venue, incorrect attire, intoxication, venue capacity, breach of security, and other restrictions. Ticket-holder is aware that the Venue and Talent are subject to change without notice, which are not grounds for a refund. Ticket-holder is aware that amenities promised by Promoter are not guaranteed, and are not grounds for a refund, including but not limited to: VIP amenities, drink specials, drink tickets, gifts, express entry, special areas, celebrity guests, etc. Dissatisfaction with any aspect of the event is not grounds for a refund, including but not limited to: music, DJ(s), decorations or lack thereof, party favors or lack thereof, beverages or lack thereof, alcohol selection, bar staff, food availability and selection, fellow patrons/attendees, venue staff, event staff, security, performances, ambiance, amenities, venue, check-in process, seating or lack of seating, wait in lines, emergency closures of event, emergency return of boats or yachts, delayed commencing of events, early ending of events, public amenities such as fireworks or public performances or the lack thereof, line of sight of public amenities such as fireworks or public performances being blocked by trees, buildings, boats, people, and/or other things, etc.

Release of Liability:

By purchasing the tickets through Eventbrite, you hereby release and forever discharge Promoter from any liability or claims for damages that may arise as a result of your attendance at, and voluntary participation in, the event(s), including claims for personal injury, or damage to personal property, or any other claims for negligence on the part of the event’s Promoter. By purchasing the tickets through Eventbrite for this event, you hereby release and forever discharge event Promoter, and their officers and agents, from any liability or claims for damages that may arise as a result of your attendance and participation at the event(s). It is hereby understood that the purchase of tickets by you and your participation in the events shall not be construed as an assumption on the part of Promoter of responsibility, liability, or control of the events.

By Purchasing tickets for this event, ticket purchaser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless event Promoter, said entities officers, owners, employees, and agents, from and against all claims, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees arising out of or by reason of complying with this Indemnity Clause. Ticket purchaser, their heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, hereby release, remise, and forever discharge event Promoter and its entities owners, officers, employees and agents, from all manner of actions, causes of actions, suits, debts, judgments, executions, claims, demands whatsoever, known or unknown, in law or equity, which ticket-holder has ever had, now have, may have, or claim against event Promoter.

Collections & Legal Action Against Debt:

Once you make a purchase, if those funds are removed from the Promoter's account and given back to you, you owe the Promoter that money back, plus applicable fees as outlined below. If you owe money to Promoter, Promoter reserves the right to take legal action against you and/or send you to collections for the recovery of said debt. If you are sent to collection or there is legal action taken against you, you are fiscally responsible for any and all legal costs and fees, directly associated and/or indirectly associated, with recovering the debt owed by you. Promoter's collection’s agencies reserve the right to negatively affect your personal credit score until your debt is paid. Once an account has been placed in collections, the only way to get yourself out of Collections is to pay the debt owed by you to the collections agency.

Arbitration Agreement:

In the event there are any legal disputes against Promoter, by agreeing to this Purchase Policy, you agree that such disputes will be arbitrated. You further agree that the location of arbitration will be set in Los Angeles County, California.

Severability:

If any clause, aspect, part or provisions of this Purchase Policy is found to be null, void, illegal or otherwise unenforceable, the rest of this Purchase Policy remains in full binding effect, and the unenforceable provision(s) shall be deemed modified to the limited extent required to permit the enforcement of said clause that required modification and of the agreement as a whole.

The magical musical journey through Nashville’s diverse nightlife begins with a salute to country music’s legends, from Hank Williams and Patsy Cline to Johnny & June. The grand journey continues as we feature top hits from Grand Ole Opry icons like George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, and Loretta Lynn. We’ll also celebrate country’s greatest musical generation, “90’s Country,” by performing signature hits from award-winning artists like Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, and Reba McEntire. Because Nashville’s nightlife isn’t just country music, throughout the night we’ll jam out to some southern rock, soul, and rhythm & blues. The entertaining evening’s finale highlights modern day Music City with the hits of today’s hottest, country superstars like Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and Luke Combs.

Ticket Pricing

Adults (12 and up): $145.00:  Captain’s Table* $103.00:  Tier 2 Cruise, Meal, and Show

Prices are inclusive of service charge and tax.

*In addition to the cruise, meal, and show, the Captain’s Table experience includes a tableside greeting and tour of the pilothouse by the captain, upgraded dessert plus a souvenir specialty drink and shirt from the onboard gift shop

Ticket prices include a service charge (currently 18.75%) and an administrative fee (currently 7.25%) based on the price of lunch/dinner served.  The service charge is distributed in its entirety to wait staff and service bartenders.
