Stretching over the water is a massive deck that is a bustling locale on warmer days. There is nothing quite like it in all of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
OPEN FOR LUNCH AND DINNER EVERY DAY
Lunch 11.30am to 3pm • dinner 5pm till late.
Our restaurant menu offers the best value for money in all of the Belmont and Newcastle regions with a variety of dining options to ensure there is something to impress everyone. We serve the traditional ‘pub fare’ with a couple of twists and also have a range of share platter options, which are great for groups enjoying a drink on the deck. Our $15 lunches are available during weekdays and our restaurant specials change regularly.
We know that our delicious food plus the stunning location directly over the water of Lake Macquarie make a perfect combination for a relaxing lunch or an exquisite dinner.
But sometimes people like to savor the food we create with love and skill in another idyllic location. That’s why we also do Take-Away.

Brisbane Chef Louis Tikaram on the Best Places to Eat in the City
Every time I think I’ve explored every corner of NSW possible, I discover an entirely new area I’ve yet to touch. Case in point: Lake Macquarie. It’s in the Hunter region of NSW, an hour and 45-minute drive north of Sydney and a 45-minute drive south of Newcastle.
It’s home to the largest coastal saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere, which covers 120 square kilometres. That’s four times the size of Sydney Harbour and allows for plenty of beaches and bays, not to mention countless waterfront venues where you can catch the sun setting over the lake with a frosty glass of wine or beer in hand.
When I recently spent a weekend in Lake Macquarie, as a guest of Visit Lake Macquarie , I based myself at Caves Coastal Bar and Bungalows , staying in a townhouse and after waking up with a morning dip in the ocean right out front, packing my days with activities, nature exploring and enjoying those sunset shows. If you’re heading to Lake Macquarie too for a weekend or even a week-long trip, ahead are some of my suggestions for what to do while you’re there.
The very best of The Latch delivered straight to your inbox.
Grab Coffee at Mr Sister Speers Point
Go where the locals go for breakfast and a caffeine hit. Mr Sister Speers Point is a small café, a five-minute drive from Warners Bay Foreshore. Nab one of the three tables under umbrellas outside or perch yourself on a high stool, looking out at the street through bay windows.
The food menu is lean so I just had a coffee. I stayed at a table outside for a couple hours, nursing it and observing how locals spend their Saturday mornings in Lake Macquarie.
Take an Aerobatic Flight With Matt Hall Racing
If you’ve done sky diving or bungee jumping and are looking for the next adrenaline hit, you’re in the right place at Lake Macquarie. It’s home to Matt Hall Racing , which lets you enjoy stunts like barrel rolls, tumbling end-over-end and speeds of 370+ km/ph. The experience was designed by Matt Hall, a Red Bull Air Race World Champion, and performed by his highly disciplined team of former RAAF and aerobatic pilots.
I’m not going to lie: I screamed like a baby every time we did a stunt. But you only do whatever you’re comfortable doing — the pilot asks for permission before every stunt.
Learn to Sail on a Lake Macquarie Sailing Tours
Experience Lake Macquarie from the water with Lake Macquarie Sailing Tours . Tours run in the mornings and afternoons and can be tailored to suit preferences and budgets. All tours run with a maximum of four guests. Trips leave from Summerland Point Reserve with the option to anchor off Pulbah Island, where you can swim. A food platter and non-alcoholic drinks are included.
I spent most of the tour sprawled out on the boat’s deck, soaking in the sun, but also found time to swim in the lake and tuck into some cheese and crackers. The tour owner even had a carrot cake with my name written on it in frosting. It was a sweet touch!
Catch Sunset at Tinta
Forget long lunches, with the sunsets so stunning in Lake Macquarie, it’s about the long dinners here. Grab a terrace table at Tinta Belmont and watch the orange ball slowly drop into the lake. The venue was renovated in 2021 after a fire ravaged parts of it — now, it’s modern and minimalist, with a sun-drenched deck lined with tables that look out over the water.
On the menu, you’ll find share plates of seafood and meat, with some veggie options, like burrata with heirloom tomato and miso-glazed eggplant thrown in. Arrive just before sundown and you’ll be treated to the restaurant beautifully lit by golden hour.
Jetboat With Jetbuzz Watersports
Mix adrenaline with getting out on the water, and you’ll get Jetbuzz Watersports . The company’s been around since 2006 and is the only jet boat operator in NSW to offer ocean rides on jet boats. Choose your adventure — Thrill Ride, Ocean Extreme or a simple boat or kayak hire — and then embark at Jetbuzz’s dock at Lorikeet Loop. The Ocean Extreme trip takes 12 people and runs for roughly an hour, taking you into a sea cave, depending on weather conditions.
Watch the Boats at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club
While anywhere along the lake is a great spot to watch the sunset, it’s special to catch it at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club in Belmont, with the sun’s rays dancing on the top of the sails. Grab a table at Crusoe’s on the Lake , the club’s restaurant that spills onto a winding deck. Crusoe’s is known for its seafood, but it’s got veggie options too, like a veggie penne and green beans and salad sides that I tucked into.

Single Men should read the Single Men Guide
Single Men Guide
We welcome single gentlemen to the Korral. If you are a single gentleman looking to obtain membership, please read this page carefully.
We ARE NOT a "sex club" nor a "brothel". We are not a dating service and we do not arrange nor guarantee any kind of sexual activity. We are a social club for people in the Lifestyle community. Some of our members enjoy the company of a respectful single male. We do limit single gentlemen however. This is not because we don't like them. We want everyone to have the same opportunity to have a good time and meet new people, but most couples and single ladies do not want to be overwhelmed with too many single gentlemen.
New single males MUST be sponsored by a current member (couple or single female ONLY). The sponsor MUST attend the party with you on your first visit. You MUST arrive and leave together on your first visit to the club.
We do limit the number of single males on any given party night, to keep the numbers balanced, so get your reservations in early to avoid being denied entry.
Here are some guidelines and rules to being a single gentleman in the Lifestyle:
- NO means NO. MAYBE means NO. I DON'T KNOW means NO. You NEED consent before any touching or play occurs.
- NO touching without verbal permission - always ask first, even if you see someone else touching it doesn't mean that you have permission.
- Approach ladies with respect. Approach the significant other and treat him with respect. It is considered polite to talk to BOTH partners. Be patient and polite during the evening.
- Excessive intoxication will not be tolerated. Legal consent cannot be given by anyone that is intoxicated either.
- Act like a gentleman and be courteous at all times.
- Don't be creepy. If you are interested in playing with someone, let him or her know in an inviting way. If they are interested, they will respond positively. If they are not, never ask them why and don't ask a second time. Don't harass the ladies. Also keep in mind, jacking off in public is creepy behavior.
If at any time you break any of the rules, you will be escorted out of the club and your membership could be suspended or revoked. No refunds are given if you are asked to leave the club. It is a privilege for single men to be invited into a Lifestyle club, so please don't jeopardize your privilege.
All Korral events require you to dress to impress!
Men must wear a nice collared shirt,a plain t-shirt or a button up shirt and dress pants or clean jeans with no holes or excess distress.
Ladies wear something that makes you look and feel sexy. This could be a club dress, sexy top and pants or skirts. Many ladies change into lingerie or something sexier as the night progresses.
Absolutely NO :
- Hats, ball caps, or head coverings
- Cuts or colors
- Slogan or logo t-shirts or undershirts
- Sweatpants/sweatshirts, tracksuits/pants
- Athletic or Basketball Shorts
**EXCEPTIONS ARE ALLOWED IF IT IS PART OF THE THEME FOR THE NIGHT** Please make sure that you follow these guidelines as Management has the right to deny entry for not following the Dress Code
SUMMER EXCEPTION: Dress/Khaki shorts are acceptable from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Hats are allowed at the pool during the daytime hours.
It is okay to bring more comfortable shoes, such as sandals or flip flops to change into. Sweats and more comfortable clothes can be brought along to change into at the end of the night as you make your way home.
Code of Conduct
Always be friendly and courteous to those at a lifestyle club; especially those that you are interested in playing with. These people can be new to the lifestyle or old pros but each deserves your full respect.
- Keep the innuendos and sex talk to a minimum. It doesn't matter if you are in an adult swinger club, be aware of how you present yourself. Foul language, pick-up lines, or innuendos can come across aggressive, especially by new members. Save the sex talk for a group or circle of friends who welcome that type of conversation.
- Respect everyone. You may find yourself in a situation where you do not want to proceed with playing. This is fully acceptable but you should be considerate of other people's feelings by letting them know in a respectful and kind manner; a simple gesture of kindness can go a long way. This goes both ways as well. If you feel that the couple you are with is uncomfortable, be open to letting them move on without making them feel bad about their decision.
- Keep it clean. Be aware of your own personal grooming. Persons with bad breath, body odor, or uncleanliness will have a hard time finding other partners or couples. So be Hygienic. Remember to bathe or shower before attending events.
- Be neat and tidy. When you are done using an area, don't forget to clean up after yourself. Dispose of condoms, wrappers, towelettes, etc. If something happens to make a mess and it's not easy to clean up, please inform someone from the staff immediately. We are more than happy to help. Before exiting a room after playing, please pull a corner of the sheet back to alert staff that the bed needs fresh linens placed.
- Don't get drunk. Excessive drinking is frowned upon in the lifestyle. Drink responsibly and in moderation so that you can enjoy yourself, have good memories, and can come back for more if you choose. We reserve the right to take away your alcohol if we see that you are drinking excessively.
- Opening a closed door or removing a chain from a door and entering the room without permission is an absolute NO. Not only is it rude, but it will get you permanently banned from the Korral. We do NOT tolerate this type of behavior. If the door is closed, do not open it. If the members are okay with you watching, the chain will be up for you to watch quietly. No cheering or encouragement from the sidelines please.
- ABSOLUTELY NO CELL PHONE USAGE! Cell phones may ONLY be used in the "selfie" room or in the main office. They MAY NOT be used in the club, hot tubs, pool, locker rooms, bathrooms, dining room, smoke room, nor any of the playrooms. If you need to check on the kids, check messages, send an email, start the car, please do so in one of these two designated areas. Failure to comply with this rule will get you suspended or removed permanently from the club.
** No refunds are given if you are removed from the club for breaking a rule. **

Accommodation
Spending a day in Lake Macquarie is great. But staying the night? Even better. Wake up in time to catch the sunrise from the inside the ancient sea caves at Caves Beach, or watch as the sun slowly makes its way across the sky; reflecting glowing dawn colours off the glassy surface of the lake.
There’s plenty of different options to suit all budgets. Hotels, motels and resorts make for an easy escape, and range from budget-friendly through to stylish luxury. You can live as the locals do in your very own holiday house, or stay in a quaint waterfront cottage or boatshed unique to the area.
If you’re after a natural escape, camp by the lake in one of our waterfront holiday parks, or up in the mountains amongst the pines.
