Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4 Easter Eggs

This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian .

The Mandalorian kicks the doors open on Grogu’s past in “The Foundling” as well as sends Din and Bo-Katan on a dangerous rescue mission into the heart of monster territory. Both storylines lead to plenty of lore as well as callbacks to other parts of the Star Wars saga. Most importantly, we get a massive surprise guest character that will have fans of the Prequel Trilogy spitting out their morning caf.

Here are all the Star Wars easter eggs and references we found in “The Foundling”:

Kelleran Beq and Ahmed Best

For years, ever since we learned Grogu was a youngling at the Jedi Temple of Coruscant, we’ve wondered how he escaped Order 66 and who helped him along the way. In “The Foundling,” we finally learn in a flashback that it was none other than Jedi Master Kelleran Beq who got him off Coruscant, just as the clone troopers led by Anakin Skywalker were closing in.

Ad – content continues below

This Jedi Master was first introduced as the host of the kids game show Jedi Temple Challenge . Known by the nickname “Sabered Hand,” Beq was well known as an expert in lightsaber dueling, particularly in the Jar’Kai style (basically, dual-wielding blades). In Star Wars lore, Beq was in charge of helping guide Padawans through the Jedi Trials on their way to Knighthood.

Beq is of course played by Ahmed Best, who you likely know best from The Phantom Menace and the rest of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. He played the divisive Jar Jar Binks in those films as well as voiced the character in The Clone Wars animated series. “The Foundling” is Best’s first appearance in scripted Star Wars since 2014.

One last fun fact: Master Beq apparently has a relative we’ve met before in the Prequels. According to Best, his secret second character in Attack of the Clones , Achk Med-Beq, a patron at the Outlander Club where Obi-Wan and Anakin are searching for Zam Wesell, is somehow related to Master Beq, although there’s no official lore supporting that except that both Beq characters obviously look exactly alike and share similar last names.

You can read much more about Kelleran Beq here .

Order 66 and the Jedi Temple

We’ve revisited Order 66 and the Siege at the Jedi Temple a few times in recent years, but here’s a brief refresher: In Revenge of the Sith , Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (also known as Sith Lord Darth Sidious) instructs the Clone Army to “execute Order 66,” a secret plan to exterminate all the Jedi Knights in the galaxy. A very grim montage shows us as clone troopers turn on their Jedi commanders, shooting them down, firing squad style, across the galaxy.

Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker, who’s just been baptized as Palpatine’s new Sith apprentice, Darth Vader, leads a clone battalion into the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to kill all who are inside, including the younglings. Fortunately, Grogu makes it out alive before Anakin can find him. If you want to see this siege from yet another perspective, check out Reva’s story in Obi-Wan Kenobi .

Adonai Kryze, Bo-Katan’s Father

Bo-Katan ‘s mentioned her father a few times at this point, so here’s what we know about him: his name was Adonai Kryze and he was Duke of Mandalore until he was killed during one of the many civil wars fought on the planet. He was succeeded by his daughter, Duchess Satine Kryze, a pacifist leader who sought to reform Mandalorian culture away from their warrior creed, something Bo-Katan strongly opposed in The Clone Wars animated series. In other words, Adonai’s death during a civil war led to…another civil war on Mandalore just a few years later.

Republic Gunship/LAAT

The first of three ships from the Prequels that appear in the episode, the Republic Gunship (aka the Low Altitude Assault Transport, or LAAT) made its debut in Attack of the Clones as the main vehicle used by clone troopers to drop into the battlefield on Geonosis. These ships were armed with several laser cannons that offered air support while troopers on the ground pushed forward.

H-type Nubian Yacht From Attack of the Clones

More commonly known as the Naboo yacht is another ship first introduced in Attack of the Clones . It was the ship flown by Senator Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker during their visits to Tatooine and Geonosis. Padme also flew this ship throughout The Clone Wars animated series.

Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing Starfighters

Those starfighters chasing Beq and Grogu out of Coruscant look and sound like proto-TIE fighters, but they’re actually called “V-wings.” They were the short-ranged starfighters used by the Clone Army in the final years of the Clone Wars. While they first appeared onscreen in Revenge of the Sith , they were actually first mentioned in the movie’s prequel novel Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno.

Naboo Royal Guard

The brave security force that comes to Beq and Grogu’s aid during their escape from Coruscant is the Naboo Royal Guard, who protect the leaders of Naboo as well as the planet’s citizens. They first appeared in The Phantom Menace .

501st Clone Battalion

Clone troopers obviously play a big part in the flashback portion of the episode, as they’re the ones executing the siege on the Jedi Temple. This battalion in particular is the 501st Clone Battalion, which was the legion led by Anakin, his apprentice Ahsoka Tano, and Captain Rex throughout the Clone Wars. This battalion was later reorganized into the 501st Legion under the Empire and served Darth Vader. They were even nicknamed “Vader’s Fist.”

There’s Always a Bigger Fish: Raptors, Stone Crabs, and Dino Turtles

Several creatures show up in this episode. There are the tricky little stone crabs, who retreat into their rock-like shells when Grogu picks them up (undoubtedly to try and eat them), as well as the return of the massive “dinosaur turtle” from “The Apostate.” We’re also introduced to raptors, which look like the Star Wars version of wyverns.

As what we assume is a fun little nod to The Phantom Menace , when the injured raptor comes crashing down into that lake, a dinosaur turtle immediately rises up to feast on it. Reminds us of Qui-Gon Jinn’s old saying: “There’s always a bigger fish.”

Grogu receives a rondel as his next piece of Mudhorn armor. This seems to be one of the earliest bits of armor given to a Mandalorian initiate, although it’s the first we’ve heard of it. Real-world knights and soldiers wore rondels to protect vulnerable points in their armor back in the Middle Ages.

The Mandalorian Has a New Ship, and He's Heading in One Direction

Here's everything you need to know about the Naboo N-1 starfighter—which, by the way, is a nod to the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

Headshot of Brady Langmann

Sure, quite a few not-on-your-bingo-card things happened in this week's episode of The Book of Boba Fett . First of all, it was actually just a new episode of The Mandalorian . Boba Fett did not appear whatsoever. Mando commissioned a gift for Grogu, which he solemnly stared at during his trip to Tatooine. And Amy Sedaris's Peli Motto dated a Jawa. Don't act like that didn't happen.

But in your heart of hearts, did you ever think that we'd see the man gleefully glide around the old podracing course that Anakin whipped through back in 1999?

Here's everything you need to know about the successor to the Razor Crest—and how it might help Mando going forward.

If you missed the slight exposition dump in this episode about the vehicle, it was originally commissioned for the Queen of Naboo's Royal Security Force. The Queen of Naboo, of course, was a title once held by Padmé Amidala, played by Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The N-1 starfighter's biggest moment in Star Wars lore came during The Phantom Menace 's battle of Naboo, when young Anakin Skywalker hopped in a starfighter and gunned down a Trade Federation ship. The N-1 starfighter, as Peli Motto tells us, is so ancient that it'll be undetectable to other flying vehicles, plus it has its own hyperdrive engine. In other words, Mando's new ride is really, really fast. When The Mandalorian Season Three fires back up, bet that Mando will fly that thing straight to Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy.

If you ask us, we're happy that Mando downsized. If you think back to past seasons of The Mandalorian , it always felt like the ship was either exploding and/or sinking in rather large bodies of water. Plus, the droid compartment in the N-1 starfighter looks like a perfect seat for our favorite foundling.

Making the case for The Mandalorian's new ship, the N1 Starfighter

The Mandalorian's cool new starfighter carries a lot of on-screen and off-screen Star Wars history.

Star Wars The Mandalorian n1 starfighter in hangar

One of the biggest surprises in the first season of The Book of Boba Fett came with the arrival of Din Djarin aka the Mandalorian, who took over the show for roughly two episodes (out of seven). In fact, most viewers agree that Chapters 5 and 6 are among the best Star Wars television we’ve gotten so far, with the former basically serving as an early start for The Mandalorian season three .

During the first half of Chapter 5, we find the Mandalorian all by himself – Grogu temporarily left to become a Jedi – and missing a ship of his own after the Empire blew the Razor Crest to smithereens. Thankfully, he quickly returns to Tatooine with his hard-earned cash to buy a new ship… that isn’t what he was expecting.

The Naboo N-1 starfighter, a classic prequel craft, made its triumphant return in The Book of Boba Fett (though it can be seen in a few frames of The Rise of Skywalker). It more than makes up for the lack of space with impressive flight speeds and extreme maneuverability, especially in the upgraded version put together by wizard Mos Eisley mechanic Peli Motto.

Read on below to learn more about this classic starfighter, where it comes from, and how it came to be. And if you're a collector of all things Star Wars, then whether you're a fan of Mando's old ship or his new one, Lego has you covered. You can grab the Lego Star Wars Razor Crest right now, and the N1 Starfighter kit launches on June 1.

An icon from another era

Most fans instantly recognized the ship’s unique shape as soon as its incomplete body was unveiled, and with good reason. The Star Wars prequels introduced several cool new designs that felt very different from what we had previously seen in the original trilogy, but only a few of them got enough screen time in the films to really leave a mark – the N-1 starfighter was chosen as one of the most emblematic images from The Phantom Menace and surrounding media, and was all over magazines, posters, and the Internet in 1999 and 2000.

The ship’s curved and highly stylized design represented everything George Lucas and his Lucasfilm/ILM team were going for with the first of the prequels: letting fans know this was a different kind of Star Wars, a representation of a pre-war galaxy full of lush and colorful worlds. And those vibes were supported by their inhabitants and signature vehicles as well. In the case of Naboo, it’s hard to forget about the underwater Gungan cities and their technology, which shared plenty of traits with the human residents of the planet.

Unsurprisingly, creative mastermind Doug Chiang – one of Lucasfilm’s biggest veterans – has mentioned several times that the N-1 starfighter is one of his personal favorites. After going over Lucas’ script for The Phantom Menace, he thought the Naboo’s ships had to have “an aquatic feel” in order to match the planet’s abundance of water and their relationship with the Gungan.

According to Chiang, the design was “an outright success – an elegant starfighter for a more civilized age.” Moreover, Lucas liked it so much that he pushed even further with a bold color: a strong shade of yellow that matched the painting-like vistas of the new planet.

The Naboo starfighter was also the centerpiece of two Star Wars video games released around The Phantom Menace: Battle for Naboo and Starfighter. The latter (pictured above) was a massive success and kind of renewed Star Wars flight sims for a new generation of gamers. As mentioned before, the N-1 was so prominently used in marketing and other media surrounding Episode I that it quickly became a fan-favorite ship, and has remained that way despite its limited screen time in the two subsequent films.

Looking at its in-universe specs and features, we learn the N-1 can jump into hyperspace without external assistance (something few fighters can do), packs two powerful J-type engines, and was generally built with optimal maneuverability in mind. The Naboo are often described as peaceful people, and as a result, this starfighter lacks heavy weaponry (limited to twin laser cannons and torpedo launchers) – instead, it acts like a nimble mosquito which can distract and chip away at enemies in prolonged engagements.

Retooled for new purposes

Alongside his friend Peli Motto, Mando customizes the N-1 to make it faster and meaner. A turbonic venturi power assimilator from the Republic era (acquired by Jawas) is the centerpiece of their creation: a roaring fighter with some serious punch. Gone are expendable bits, such as the vapor manifold or the socket for an astromech droid, as well as the striking yellow we all fondly remember. Peli cooks up an induction intake charger to double the spacecraft’s output coefficient as well – something that we’re sure Grogu will enjoy very much in future adventures. Much like the Mandalorian, it’s a shiny but crude vehicle full of hidden strength, a ship for a chaotic and often lawless age in the galaxy.

There’s also something instantly charming about a custom-made ride that looks rusty and about to fall apart, only to surprise everyone by outperforming the era’s golden standard: the Rebellion and New Republic’s X-Wings. She’s got it where it counts, and she can take Din and his (now returned) adoptive son wherever they need while leaving potential foes in the dust with ease. And who knows, maybe we’ll see this beauty in a heavy-combat situation once the Mandalorian war effort ramps up.

The now-vintage N-1 won’t serve the Mandalorian in the same way the Razor Crest did. But we should consider he’s not the same bounty hunter anymore after two seasons of running around with a little green friend. Now focused on learning more about his Mandalorian heritage and helping retake Mandalore, it’s hard to see Din Djarin returning to his old ways.

And even if he needs to make some quick buck, we’ve already seen he likes to bring the baddies in cold nowadays. Plus, this ship is gonna look amazing besides Boba Fett’s Firespray once they inevitably team up again.

How did The Mandalorian get his new ship in season 3?

What do we know about the Mandalorian's new ship in season 3 and when did Din Djarin get the Naboo N-1 Starfighter in the Star Wars timeline.

The Mandalorian season 3 Din Djarin's new ship

Published: Mar 1, 2023

How and when did Din Djarin get his new ship Naboo N-1 Starfighter in The Mandalorian season 3? This article contains minor spoilers for The Mandalorian season 3 episode 1.

After a hiatus, The Mandalorian is officially back in town. And by ‘town’ we mean the galaxy far, far away, with his travelling companion Baby Yoda . In this latest season of the Star Wars series , he’s travelling from world to world to atone for past transgressions, most of all the removal of his helmet.

In order to do this, Din Djarin needs a ship. However, we watched his previous Star Wars ship , the Razor Crest, get decisively blown up back in season 2. But now Djarin has a new cruiser, and it’s one that we recognise. But when did Din Djarin get his new ship?

When did the Mandalorian get his new ship?

Din Djarin got his new ship in-between the events of The Mandalorian season 1 and 2, as seen in The Book of Boba Fett. Mando visited Peli Motto on Tatooine, who gave him his new vessel: a Naboo N-1 Starfighter.

This is the ship we then see Mando use in The Book of Boba Fett when he travels to Luke Skywalker ‘s new Jedi training centre, where he eventually picks up Baby Yoda.

Naboo N-1 Starfighter

The Naboo N-1 Starfighter ship is what the soldiers of Naboo are seen using in the prequel trilogy. They are fast, smooth ships with impressive combat capabilities, so it’s no surprise to see see Din Djarin in one.

The Mandalorian's new ship

However, the fact that Djarin is now using a Naboo N-1 Starfighter does suggest that his days of being a Star Wars bounty hunter may be over. The ship does not have the internal space to carry people who he’s taken prisoner, unless he wants to strap them to the outside.

That’s it on Mando’s new ship for now, but we’ll be sure to see more of it down the line. The ‘Mandalorian’ Chapter 20 Recap: “The Foundling” Takes Us Into Grogu’s Past—and Back to the Show’s Sweet Spot

A narrative course correction back to our favorite characters and a surprising (and satisfying) answer to a long-standing question put a season that’s still running a little low on propellant back on track

How could Jon Favreau follow up the longest episode of The Mandalorian —a roughly hour-long edition that featured a mid-episode detour to Coruscant sandwiched between stints with Bo-Katan, Grogu, and Mando, closing at the covert? How about with the shortest episode of The Mandalorian —a roughly half -hour-long edition that also featured a mid-episode detour to Coruscant sandwiched between stints with Bo-Katan, Grogu, and Mando, closing at the covert?

“The Foundling,” directed by Carl Weathers and written by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, echoes some aspects of last week’s widely panned “ The Convert ,” right down to the fancy flying and the excursion to Monument Plaza. However, whereas Chapter 19 banished the series’ core characters for the bulk of the episode—which, among other shortcomings, earned “The Convert” the series’ lowest IMDb user rating to date—Chapter 20 keeps the focus on our favorites: Bo, Gro’, and ’Do. That narrative course correction, combined with a surprising (and satisfying!) answer to a long-standing question, gets The Mandalorian back on track as Season 3 hits the halfway point, though the season as a whole, like the Mandalorians’ jetpacks, is still running a little low on propellant.

If it weren’t for the fact that the audience would have walked out on a Dr. Pershing–only episode, last week’s brief BoGroDo scenes would have paired well with the ones in “The Foundling.” This episode picks up where last week’s left off: on the unidentified planet that I’m starting to wish would be named, just so I could stop calling it “the unidentified planet with the Mandalorian covert.” Whatever it’s called, it’s a popular place: Every time we get a glimpse of the covert, the Children’s ranks seem to have swelled, despite their constant culling by the local wildlife. (More on that in a moment.) I don’t know how the Children are getting the word out to their scattered members or attracting new recruits—especially in light of the planet’s supersized predators—but the covert isn’t looking so covert anymore. At the clan’s current rate of exponential growth, it’ll be a match for Moff Gideon by the time he turns up.

The Ringer ’s Streaming Guide

A collage of characters from popular TV shows, from Barry to Succession

There’s a lot of TV out there. We want to help: Every week, we’ll tell you the best and most urgent shows to stream so you can stay on top of the ever-expanding heap of Peak TV.

The episode opens during a Mandalorian munitions test and sparring session that reminded me uncomfortably of middle school wrestling lessons. Some of the Children are firing into the water, which surely won’t attract unwanted attention from the massive, Mando-eating alligators that live there. Others tussle with each other to earn XP and level up their clan rankings. Grogu sits off to the side, surrounded by rocklike protrusions. It looks like he’s prepping for some Luke-like levitation, but the “rocks” reveal themselves to be crabs, and Din reveals himself to be the kind of dad who doesn’t want his son to play peacefully by himself. (More uncomfortable reminders for me. This sequence is triggering.) “If he is ever to rise from foundling to apprentice, he must learn,” Mando says.

Grogu doesn’t seem so sure that he wants to rise from foundling to apprentice, if advancement is contingent on shooting other apprentices—specifically Paz Vizsla’s son, a fellow foundling who has the very Viking name “Ragnar”—with darts. “Don’t worry,” Bo reassures Gro, sounding more maternal than ever. “My dad was the same way. He’s just proud of you.” The fonder Bo gets of Grogu, the harder it gets not to ship her and Din. Not that I’m trying hard not to.

Din doesn’t just want Grogu to add to his armor set; he also wants to show off that his son has superpowers. And Grogu does harness his Force skills (and his training with Luke) to vault over the darts after Din assures him, “It’s OK. Show them.” Given that Grogu’s (grimace) high M-count has caused him to be hunted for the past quarter century, or roughly half his life—remember, he’s AARP eligible—it’s no small thing for him to show off a Force leap when company’s around. That he does is a testament to his trust in Din, as well as to his commitment to Clan Mudhorn and the Mandalorians at large. Tarre Vizsla, creator of the Darksaber, was a Mandalorian who joined the Jedi; Grogu is doing a reverse Vizsla.

Speaking of Vizslas: Ragnar is wandering by the waterside, contemplating his loss to a baby, when he’s snatched by a frickin’ raptor that comes out of nowhere. In case you’ve lost track, this is the second time in four episodes that poor Ragnar—who went ahead with his helmeting even after his previous near-death experience—has been attacked by a beastie with no apparent provocation. If I were him, I would stop standing in the monster-attack zone. (That’s an understatement: If I were him, I would stop occupying this planet, posthaste.) Though it might be handy to have him around as Mythosaur bait when the covert inevitably relocates to Mandalore.

The most disconcerting development isn’t the raptor attack; it’s the clan’s practiced reaction to the raptor attack. “Follow it to its lair,” Paz Vizsla says, as if he’s done this before. And in fact, he has: “It always gets away,” he says, when he runs out of fuel while in hot pursuit. Always? How often has this happened?! (Pretty often, judging by the empty helmets in the raptor’s nest later on, not to mention the line “It will kill the foundling if attacked. It has happened before when it has taken others.”) I get that Mandalorians are accustomed to roughing it, but maybe move somewhere else? Set up a security system or some motion sensors? Tell the kids to stay inside? This shouldn’t be the Way!

While everyone else is flying on fumes, Bo hops in her ship and travels in style to the raptor’s lair, before returning to organize an expedition back to its nest. That’s Grogu’s cue to take center stage—he’s big enough to train against apprentices, but not, it seems, to save them (even though his connection to animals might make him an ideal choice for this mission). But because the flashback that follows is so significant, let’s tie a bow on Bo’s part of this episode before we get to Groges.

En route to the raptor, the rescuers stop for food, campfire stories, and sleep. As Bo quickly learns, this crowd doesn’t do communal meals; no roasted marshmallows for Mandalorians who can’t take off their helmets in polite (or impolite) company. The only way to snack without becoming an apostate is to split up, but Bo gets pride of place: “You are the leader of the war party,” the elder Vizsla says. “You have the honor of staying by the fire. This is the Way.” It’s a great relief to see Bo’s (or anyone’s) head again, and it’s telling that Paz falls in line so fast: Mandalorians respect strength, and the Mythosaur would boost Bo’s if she claimed it.

As two separate, almost-identical conversations inform us—am I imagining it, or are this season’s scripts extra repetitive?—the members of the Mandalorian posse can’t use their jetpacks to ascend to the eyrie, lest they alert the raptor, which would then kill Ragnar. Instead, they climb up a cliff face in full armor, in the sun (which seems extremely strenuous), and end up alerting the raptor anyway. It’s just as well because Ragnar is in the raptor’s gullet—he’s fine, folks!—as snug as Luke in a tauntaun’s intestines (or Boba in the sarlacc’s) and ready to be regurgitated to feed the raptor’s three cute kids. After Papa Paz gets scooped up, a chase ensues as the fliers use their lassos to force the raptor to release both Vizslas. The ensnared raptor then plummets to the sea, where an alligator surfaces to snap it into pieces, Targaryen-style, thereby orphaning three raptor chicks and possibly making my editor cry. In saving one foundling, the Mandalorians have created three more, making the Armorer the Mother of Raptors . (Don’t worry, Mal—these cultists seem like really responsible pet parents.)

This side quest serves a story purpose in that it smooths over the tension between Paz and Din and, more importantly, elevates Bo back into a leadership role while further integrating her into the tribe. It also, however, highlights one of Favreau’s go-to tricks as a screenwriter: When in doubt, summon a massive monster. There might have been more subtle ways to make Bo see the virtues of the Way (as a prelude to a philosophical compromise, perhaps?), but why opt for the subtle approach when you can use your big budget to make flying Mandalorians lasso a raptor? Especially when it all looks as good as the dogfight did last week?

After the tribe hails the raptor killers/adopters with a round of huzzahs, the Armorer pulls Bo aside. “You’re in need of a repair,” she tells Bo, adding, “I can replace what’s missing, but not with its modern refinements.” Reader, I don’t think she’s speaking solely about armor of the physical kind. The Armorer is bolstering Bo’s spirits by replacing her broken belief system with the good ol’-fashioned Creed.

In a sign of her creeping conversion, Bo asks for a Mythosaur signet on her replacement pauldron. Then she comes clean, telling the Armorer that she’s seen a real-life Living-Waters Mythosaur—not a vision of one, but the genuine article. “When you choose to walk the Way of the Mand’alor, you will see many things,” the Armorer says, inscrutably. Bo, a bit miffed, reiterates that she’s not talking about many hypothetical things. She’s talking about one thing—namely, a non-imaginary Mythosaur. “This is the Way,” the Armorer answers, which must be a useful stock response when you’re trying to humor someone without being rude. (One wonders whether there’s such a thing as Armorer-client confidentiality, or whether word of the Mythosaur sighting will spread.)

If there’s anything surprising about the Mandalore story so far—aside from how quickly we met the Mythosaur—it’s how chummy Bo, Din, and the Armorer are. They could, of course, have a falling-out over any number of matters in the second half of this season: clan leadership, Darksaber possession, helmet policy, Mythosaur strategy, how to handle Gideon or Mandalore. But for now, they’re one big, happy cult, poised to tackle any non-alligatoraptor-related threats that may soon surface.

Grogu is prepared for battle, too, having added a comically oversized rondel to his beskar collection (a little late to block Ragnar’s darts). “You will grow into this rondel as you grow into your station,” the Armorer tells him, perhaps slightly overestimating his species’ adult size. But the headline here isn’t Grogu’s latest accessory; it’s that we finally find out how he escaped the Jedi Temple. If we’ve learned anything from the first few seasons of this series, it’s that when you want to get lost in an agonizing reverie, you’ve got to go to the Forge. There, the sight of beskar being melted down, the sound of hammers and tongs, and the scent of Eau de Living Waters make the traumatic backstory seep out . After years of speculation about how he eluded destruction during Order 66—His own latent powers? Special dispensation from Palpatine or Vader? An assist from a famous Jedi, à la Luke in the second-season finale?—we now know the truth. Grogu got rescued by Jar Jar. Sort of.

Grogu was saved by a surviving Jedi, though not one with a household name: Kelleran Beq . Beq first appeared in a web-only game show for children called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge —basically Star Wars –flavored Legends of the Hidden Temple . Only 10 episodes of the Lucasfilm-produced series exist, and they aren’t on Disney+, so Beq wasn’t much mentioned as a candidate to make the Mandalorian leap and pluck Grogu from harm’s way. In retrospect, though, Grogu’s savior feels fitting, because Beq—who serves as the host of the series—is played by Ahmed Best, best known to Star Wars fans as the actor who provided the voice and motion capture for frequent prequel punch line Jar Jar Binks.

The backlash to Jar Jar, and the harassment and racist invective hurled Best’s way, caused the actor to contemplate suicide . His live-action return to the franchise in 2020 via Jedi Temple Challenge was heartening —but Best saving Grogu’s life in the flagship show of Star Wars completes a touching turnaround to his off-screen Star Wars story, in light of what he went through. Grogu’s ascent in a turbolift to the Temple’s exterior, where he’s greeted by Beq, calls back to Luke’s ascent to the bridge of Gideon’s ship in Season 2. Master Beq, a Padawan supervisor known as the “Sabered Hand,” shows off his saber skills and his piloting acumen as he whisks Grogu away from Temuera Morrison–voiced clones of the 501st Legion . (On Jedi Temple Challenge , Beq carried a purple lightsaber, which was intended as a tribute to Mace Windu—another Jedi who was sometimes put forth as a candidate to save Grogu. On The Mandalorian , Beq wields both blue and green blades, possibly to avoid Mace-recasting confusion.)

Although “The Foundling” doesn’t explicitly invoke Jar Jar, the episode hints at his contribution: That Nubian yacht parked on a platform by “some friends” of Beq’s, which Beq and Grogu use to escape from Coruscant, may well belong to Naboo’s own Senator Binks. If so, there’s a chance that Jar Jar may have played some part in the formation of the Hidden Path , the underground network that ferries Force-sensitives to safety, as shown in Obi-Wan Kenobi . Leave it to Filoni to continue the rehabilitation of Jar Jar, a process started in The Clone Wars and continued in the books . However you feel about Jar Jar all these years later, it’s hard to hold anything against the bombad Gungan who gave Grogu a new lease on life.

As with “The Convert,” the title of this episode could refer to multiple characters. We now know how one of them, Grogu, was saved for the first time, but there’s plenty of his history left to tell—and his future remains in motion , too. Given his connections to characters from all three trilogies of the Skywalker Saga (not to mention his potential to live long beyond it), the little green guy is shaping up to be a vergence in the Force for the franchise: not just a cute way to move merch, but also a central figure that Star Wars stories swirl around. For now, he’ll have to figure out whether he wants to take on a new type of apprenticeship after recently rejecting one with Luke. And The Mandalorian , which went back to its core character trio and its creature-feature, swashbuckling bread and butter after a one-week deviation in character and tone, will have to throw more threats at him and his friends in the four weeks to come.

The Mandalorian S3 Episode 4 Review and Breakdown: The Foundling

The Mandalorian S3 Episode 4, “The Foundling” shows how good of a leader Bo-Katan can be. Also, the big question regarding Grogu’s escape from the Jedi Temple is finally answered!

Recap of the story so far

Dr. Pershing feels grateful about receiving a new opportunity in the New Republic. However, his desire to continue his research makes him fall into a trap set up by Elia Kane, an Imperial Officer that also served on Moff Gideon’s ship.

Din Djarin and Bo-Katan bathed in the Living Waters of Mandalore , this redeemed both of them. Din is considered once again a Mandalorian, and Bo-Katan is a Children of the Watch until she wishes to leave.

Mandalorian Training

As soon as the episode begins, we see every member of the covert doing some combat training, from the foundlings to the grown-ups. It might not look like anything fancy but this training is what has allowed them to survive cataclysmic events since the Old Republic times.

Mandalorians were once the most feared warriors in the galaxy, there was a time when even Jedi and Sith would think twice before getting into a conflict with the people of Mandalore. With the exception of Tarre Vizsla and Grogu, no other Mandalorian has been force-sensitive. For almost everyone, this would make it impossible to compete against a Force user.

The abnormal strength, speed, and reflexes in combination with a lightsaber is what make Jedi and Sith the most legendary warriors to ever exist. To be able to compete with such gifted individuals Mandalorians had to master every weapon, tactic, and combat style available.

I can’t emphasize enough how good of a combatant someone must be to even last a few seconds against a lightsaber wielder that can also use the Force. Imagine not only fighting at such a disadvantage and still coming out on top. This is why Mandalorians are so respected and feared, even when their numbers have reduced so drastically.

Size Matters Not

Like most people, I have a soft spot for Grogu. Watching him walk, jump or do anything that’s physically demanding always makes me giggle. His size, small age, and docile nature make Grogu look like the least threatening being wherever he goes. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Every wise warrior knows to never underestimate an enemy regardless of how it looks, this is a hard lesson that many learn the hard way. Ragnar is not the first and certainly not the last person to underestimate our favorite little green friend.

As Grogu continues to learn and train, he’s slowly becoming more resourceful and powerful. Sure, he might be among the cutest things in Star Wars but eventually, his strength will be able to overcome almost anyone.

His journey as a Mandalorian is just beginning, there are many trials that he must complete before achieving the full status of a warrior of Mandalore. As the Beskar molded by the Armorer, Grogu will have to adapt, evolve and overcome his weaknesses.

If what’s left of the Empire still wants Grogu then they will return, last time it was Moff Gideon and everybody almost died. Whether he’s in custody or not doesn’t matter at all, as powerful as Gideon could be he’s only one more head waiting to be replaced. Moff Gideon is a formidable opponent, but he’s probably not the worst the Empire (or what’s left of it) can send after Din Djarin and Grogu.

Saving Grogu

Order 66 scenes are always intriguing and painful to watch, but that doesn’t mean that it’s less exciting to learn the point of view of different Jedi. The younglings, the masters that died defending the temple, those who were on missions when it happened, etc.

We still don’t understand how Grogu managed to survive for so many years but at least we’ve learned how he managed to escape the temple and Coruscant.

Many Jedi Knights died making sure that he could leave the temple unharmed but it was one Jedi Master that got him out. Kelleran Beq is a Jedi Master that supervised Padawans as they progressed through their trials; I would think that his bond with the younglings is stronger than most.

With the help of the Royal Naboo Security Forces, Beq managed to escape and secure one of the most important members of the Jedi Order. If the Naboo soldiers were already waiting for him then it means that someone acted incredibly fast to coordinate this escape.

The Jedi Order has many allies but few would dare to interfere with the Grand Army of the Republic. The only person that comes to my mind is Padmé Amidala, being the Naboo representative on Coruscant no one else other than the Queen herself could give such a tall order.

This would mean that she did more than what we saw in Revenge of the Sith. When she sees the Jedi Temple in flames Padmé breaks down but we know that she’s a woman of action, no matter the circumstances. Anakin Skywalker led Operation Knightfall but maybe the former Queen of Naboo decided to save as many lives as possible.

Getting out of the temple is one thing, but that’s only the first step. Order 66 marked the end of an era, after that day no Jedi was entirely safe. No matter how much they hide, the Empire would always hunt them down.

Yoda, Obi-Wan, Quinlan Vos, Cal Kestis, Ahsoka Tano, and a few more were able to escape but not without being hunted relentlessly by Darth Vader and his Inquisitors. I can’t wait to learn about the adversities that Grogu had to face.

Now, the main question is; What happened to Kelleran Beq?

Natural Leader

Bo-Katan Kryze is a cold-headed woman, she’s still a fierce warrior but unlike many other Mandalorians, she doesn’t let the heat of the battle remove her ability to think critically and make smart choices.

Obviously, she has a long list of failures that will haunt her for a long time. But pretty much every character worthy of remembering has experienced defeat and disappointment. As Yoda perfectly puts it: failure is the greatest teacher.

When Ragnar is taken by the giant reptavian creature she follows it on the Gauntlet Fighter and locates the nest. Bo-Katan knows what she’s doing, the training she received as a young princess has prepared her for any kind of situation.

No one questions her experience or leadership. Not even Paz Vizsla, who isn’t fond of Din Djarin or Bo-Katan. The life of his son might be at risk, but he understands that relying on someone who’s more experienced is the best chance he has to recover his son.

The former princess of Mandalore has been around for a short period of time and she has already saved a foundling, the highest achievement according to the creed. Not only that but she has provided the covert with three creatures that could become powerful war beasts in the future.

I have no doubt that this has earned her the trust and respect of everyone. Which is no easy feature considering we’re talking about Mandalorians. Perhaps by getting others’ trust she’ll regain her own confidence.

It was odd that Bo-Katan told the Armorer about the Mythosaur. Obviously, she thought that it was some metaphor or vision, not the actual creature. But can we blame her? A Mythosaur hasn’t been seen in thousands of years.

The Living Waters have different properties and deep significance for the Children of the Watch. This makes it even harder to believe Bo-Katan’s claims. However, the Armorer has always been very cryptic. She only says what’s necessary when the time is right, I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t react to seeing the Mythosaur face to face.

Chapter 20 “The Foundling Easter Eggs

This episode’s easter eggs are all related to the prequel trilogy. We also witness the return of an actor that has been in Star Wars for more than twenty years.

Redemption Arc

Kelleran Beq is played by Ahmed Best. Some might not recognize him but he’s the actor that played Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy. This role made him receive a lot of undeserving hate.

Ahmed returned to play Kelleran Beq in the Jedi Temple Challenge children series . These videos show Beq guiding Padawans in their quest to become Jedi.

Coruscant Guard

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is the first time that we’ve seen the Coruscant Guard involved in Operation Knightfall. Every previous scene only showed the 501st Legion. The Coruscant Guard is a division made of elite shock troopers designated to protect important places and people like the Senate and Chancellor Palpatine.

Naboo Starship

Master Beq and Grogu escape aboard an H-type Nubian yacht, the same ship that Padmé and Anakin used in Attack of the Clones.

'The Mandalorian' Season 3 Episode 4 Easter Eggs

Disney continues to deliver all the plentiful lore.

Editor's Note: The following contains minor spoilers from Season 3 Episode 4 of The Mandalorian. In " Chapter 20: The Foundling ," our attention turns back to Din Djarin ( Pedro Pascal ) and Grogu. With Bo-Katan Kryze ( Katee Sackhoff ), they grow closer to the Children of the Watch, training and fighting in tandem. It's the shortest of the third season thus far, but this episode of The Mandalorian still packs in plenty of hidden connections. This is the way.

The titular moniker of the episode, foundlings are the central focus of this episode. Now that Din and Bo-Katan have rejoined the Children of the Watch, where the Mandalorians are currently training their children, Grogu finds himself in the friendly company of other foundlings. "It's time that you learn with the other foundlings." Din insists that Grogu begins further training, and Grogu immediately showcases formidable ability. Wesley Kimmel (nephew of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel ) returns as Ragnar Vizsla, Grogu's training opponent and the foundling taken by a pterosaur creature.

Mandalorian Weaponry

As the training ensues, many familiar weapons are wielded. Vibroblades, commonly on hand for Mandalorians, swipe and slash about. There are EE-3 carbine rifles, popularized by the bounty hunter Boba Fett himself, and even Grogu takes up Mandalorian weaponry in the form of training darts.

The Peaks of Kyrimorut

When plotting Ragnar's rescue, Bo-Katan boasts confidence in the mission thanks to her training. The pterosaur has taken Ragnar to a high mountain peak which they'd have to scale to avoid detection. She refers to her experience climbing the peaks of Kyrimorut, which was a remote stronghold on the planet Mandalore . During the Clone Wars, it even served as a place of refuge for clone troopers that chose to leave the Grand Army of the Republic.

Shriek-hawks

Speaking of pterosaurs, the sigil of the Shriek-hawk can be seen borne by the Mandalorian members of Clan Vizsla, including the kidnapped Ragnar, and his father Paz Vizsla (Tait Fletcher). A Shriek-hawk was a bird-like predator on Mandalore, and the sigil depicts the creature in a downward position, evoking how the beast would dive for prey.

As The Armorer uses the Forge in front of Grogu, she calls it the heart of Mandalorian culture. "The Forge can reveal weaknesses." As it smashes down upon the beskar, the imagery sends Grogu into a flashback of past trauma. Giving a deeper look into the events of Revenge of the Sith , Grogu remembers his escape from Coruscant. After Palpatine commanded the execution of Order 66 , the clone troopers turned on every Jedi, including the younglings.

Temuera Morrison

You'll always recognize that voice. After starring as Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones , Temuera Morrison returned to the world of Star Wars in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett as the legendary bounty hunter. Because Jango Fett served as the blueprint for the entire clone army, Morrison voiced and visually portrayed each clone trooper in the prequel films. He's returned here to once again voice the soldiers as they execute Order 66.

In a triumphant return to Star Wars , actor Ahmed Best takes on the role of Kelleran Beq, a Jedi Master tasked with supervising young Padawans. Best played Jar Jar Binks in all three prequel films, and has expressed to fans immense gratitude for the warm welcome back into the Star Wars world. During the flashback, this Jedi is revealed to have been the key to Grogu's escape. Thanks to the aid of the Royal Naboo Security forces, Kelleran and Grogu are able to speed away into hyperspace, surviving the doom of Order 66.

The Peak of Umate

As Grogu and his Jedi savior Kelleran Beq race to evacuate Coruscant, we get all the familiar scenery of the city-covered planet, the iconic backdrop of the Star Wars prequels. We also get a glimpse of the peak of Umate, the highest mountain beneath the city structure and the only part of the planet's surface that remains uncovered. This visually ties The Mandalorian to the first three Star Wars episodes, as we encountered this peak one episode prior with Dr. Pershing.

H-Type Nubian Yacht, LAATs, & V-Wings

Iconic Star Wars spacecraft are plentiful throughout Grogu's flashback. An H-type Nubian yacht was first made famous in The Phantom Menace when it brought Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padme Amidala to Tatooine to meet a young Anakin Skywalker. In this episode, it serves as the escape vessel for Grogu and Kelleran Beq. The Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT) was the main transport for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Fans may recall Jedi Master Yoda's ride along in a LAAT in Attack of the Clones , and there's something sinisterly ironic about these gunships now pursuing Grogu. After he and Kelleran leave Coruscant's surface in the Nubian yacht, a fleet of V-wings joins in pursuit. As seen before in the prequel films and Star Wars: The Clone Wars , Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighters were early precursors to TIE fighters, their silhouette echoed in the latter's design.

Clan Mudhorn

When Grogu snaps out of his flashback, The Armorer completes the gift she's made for him. It's tradition for Mandalorians to donate portions of the beskar that they earn to the foundlings, and Grogu's first piece of armor from the Forge bears the sigil of Clan Mudhorn, the new Mandalorian clan formed by Din Djarin. Toward the end of the first season, Din is attacked by mudhorn, a large horned beast. He's saved by Grogu and his ever-increasing Force sensitivity, so the mudhorn makes for a fitting sigil.

Callback to Qui-Gon

After the Mandalorians successfully rescue the foundling from the grips of the pterosaur, the giant beast pursues them back toward their refuge. However, the manner in which they're saved marks a clever callback to The Phantom Menace , when the crocodile-like creature from earlier this season bursts from the water, consuming the pterosaur predator. "There's always a bigger fish," as Qui-Gon Jinn would say.

Visions of The Mythosaur

At the end of the episode, The Armorer brings Bo-Katan to the Forge so that she may repair the beskar pauldron for her shoulder. Their conversation conveys a growing trust between the two, with Bo-Katan opening up more comfortably. After requesting a Mythosaur sigil , which The Armorer assures belongs to all Mandalorians, Bo-Katan confides in her the experience of witnessing the legendary beast. Potentially causing Bo-Katan to question her recollection, The Armorer tells her she'd be very lucky to have such a vision. "When you choose to walk the Way of the Mand'alor, you will see many things."

The Mandalorian Season 3's Major Jedi Reveal Explained

Ahmed Best, Kelleran Beq, The Mandalorian

Warning - this article contains spoilers for Season 3, Episode 4 of The Mandalorian .

Chapter 20 of The Mandalorian included an important flashback sequence about what happened to Grogu during Order 66 and the Jedi that saved him.

Since the very first episode of The Mandalorian in 2019, fans have had a multitude of questions regarding Grogu .

The second episode of the series revealed that he is Force-sensitive, but beyond that, the character has been shrouded in mystery for the entirety of the first two-and-a-half seasons, barring a brief scene in Season 2 that confirmed he was at the Jedi Temple during Order 66.

One of the trailers for Season 3 teased that Grogu's past would be uncovered at some point during the current batch of episodes when a shot of the Jedi Temple was included.

However, the latest episode went even further than expected and actually revealed the Jedi that saved him.

The Jedi That Saved Grogu

Jedi, The Mandalorian

When the flashback sequence started in Chapter 20, multiple Jedi shielded Grogu from the incoming clone troopers that were storming the Jedi Temple during Order 66.

Unfortunately, the clones were too overpowering for the Jedi, but they did manage to get Grogu into an elevator that sent him straight down to someone named "Kelleran."

Ahmed Best, Kelleran Beq, The Mandalorian

When the doors of the elevator opened, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq quickly pulled Grogu out. This Jedi was played by none other than Star Wars veteran Ahmed Best, the actor that most notably portrayed Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy.

Although this marks the canon debut for Best's Kelleran Beq, the Jedi Master was actually created as the fictional host of the Jedi Temple Challenge children's game show that was created for Star Wars Kids.

After Grogu left the elevator with his new Jedi companion, the fighting didn't stop.

Another group of clones rounded the corner of the Temple and opened fire in the direction of Beq and Grogu, but Beq quickly pulled out two lightsabers and defended them both before jumping on a speeder and fleeing the Temple grounds.

An Attack of the Clones Easter Egg

Republic LAAT Gunships, The Mandalorian

As Beq and Grogu sped through the busy traffic lanes of Coruscant, they were chased by two LAAT gunships, each carrying a fair number of clone troopers.

Beq was able to lead one into a tunnel and cause it to crash, but their speeder had taken on some damage.

Beq and Grogu continued through Coruscant and actually drove past Umate, the peak of the highest mountain on Coruscant that was showcased in Chapter 19 when Dr. Pershing and Elia Kane were walking through Level 5127.

While still being chased by a LAAT gunship, Beq and Grogu fly toward a landing platform where they have a rough landing.

H-Type Nubian Yacht, Clone Troopers, The Mandalorian

Sitting on the platform was an H-Type Nubian Yacht, which is an extremely high-class ship built specifically for the Royal House of Naboo.

This ship also served to be a bit of an Easter egg, as it is the same type of ship that Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker used in Attack of the Clones when they travel to Tatooine and Geonosis.

After hitting the landing platform, some members of the Royal Naboo Security Forces ask Best about "the others" from the Jedi Temple that made it out alive, to which he replied by saying, "There are no others."

The LAAT gunship landed shortly after Beq and Grogu. They began taking out the Naboo Security Forces as Beq quickly fired up the Nubian Yacht so he and Grogu could escape.

After taking some fire to their rear deflector shields, Beq and Grogu successfully made it out of Coruscant's atmosphere and jumped to hyperspace.

Where is Kelleran Beq Taking Grogu?

Kelleran Beq, Ahmed Best, Grogu, The Mandalorian

Unfortunately, the flashback in The Mandalorian 's latest episode ended before it was revealed where Beq ultimately takes Grogu following their escape from Coruscant.

However, there are a few possibilities that previous Star Wars series have introduced that could explain how Grogu stayed hidden for so many years until he was a bounty target for Din Djarin.

It is unlikely that Beq would take Grogu to be in the long-term care of another Jedi. After all, Beq himself had the rank of Jedi Master and was well-known for taking care of and helping Padawans before Order 66.

However, it is equally unlikely that Beq would keep Grogu in his care, even if he would be able to offer the best protection. Beq likely knows that the newly formed Empire is now on the hunt for all remaining Jedi, so he already probably realized that Grogu would be in danger just by being with him.

So, where does Beq take Grogu?

Obi-Wan Kenobi's The Path

Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Path

One of the most important plot points of Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series was the Path.

When Obi-Wan and Leia found themselves on the planet Mapuzo, they were introduced to the Path by Tala Durith.

Described as a sort of underground network, the Path was able to safely smuggle Jedi from planet to planet after Order 66 and keep them out of the eyes of the Empire.

Even though that network would not have been created or in operation at the time that Beq and Grogu were fleeing, there was a character mentioned in Obi-Wan Kenobi in relation to the Path that could have helped Grogu.

Quinlan Vos Meets Grogu

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Quinlan Vos

Ahsoka Tano stated in Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian that Grogu was hidden from the Empire after Order 66 and that his past was dark and fearful.

If Beq does have knowledge of the Path and meets up with Quinlan Vos to get Grogu to safety, he could be the first person transported through the underground network.

It was revealed in Obi-Wan Kenobi that Quinlan spent time smuggling younglings to safety through the path.

The Path, Obi-Wan Kenobi

This would line up perfectly with Ahsoka's comments, as it would be understandable for a child such as Grogu to be afraid of being moved around by people he wasn't familiar with.

This would also explain the fact that he was hidden from the Empire since he was taken off Coruscant.

It is also important to remember that these Star Wars shows on Disney+ are currently trying to maintain a certain continuity between them.

Even though Obi-Wan Kenobi isn't technically a part of the MandoVerse, having the connective tissue between the two shows by Grogu using the Path would make sense.

When Will Grogu's Next Flashback Occur?

Grogu, The Mandalorian

Grogu's past is slowly being revealed over the course of The Mandalorian .

That being said, there is a chance that Season 3 will not include any more flashback scenes answering any of the remaining questions.

However, as time progresses the truth will eventually be uncovered. It is possible that Beq actually did end up keeping Grogu and taking care of him, but it is not likely.

One also has to wonder whether Kelleran Beq is still out there and if he managed to evade the Empire for the roughly 28 years between Order 66 and the start of The Mandalorian , but only time will tell.

Season 3, Episode 4 of The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+.

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

naboo yacht mandalorian

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

naboo yacht mandalorian

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

naboo yacht mandalorian

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

naboo yacht mandalorian

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.

This article details a subject that is considered canon.

Naboo was a bountiful planet in the Chommell sector of the Mid Rim , in the Trailing Sectors and close to the border of the Outer Rim Territories . It was home to the indigenous Gungan species and to a population of humans known as the Naboo . Naboo was pushed to the forefront of galactic politics as the birthplace of the Dark Lord of the Sith Sheev Palpatine , who served as its representative in the Senate of the Galactic Republic .

Under the guise of his Sith title Darth Sidious, Palpatine secretly engineered an invasion of his peaceful homeworld by the Trade Federation , a megacorporation in a bid for power. Ostensibly done in protest over proposed taxation of formerly free trade routes , the Federation's invasion led to an outpouring of support from the Senate for both Palpatine and the newly-elected Queen of Naboo , Padmé Amidala . Amidala led a successful resistance movement and removed the Federation from her world during the Battle of Naboo . Palpatine subsequently rose to the office of the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, with Amidala eventually taking his place as the planet's senatorial representative.

Naboo would commit itself firmly to democracy in the intervening years , staying loyal to the Republic during the pan-galactic Clone Wars , which saw several military engagements against the Confederacy of Independent Systems come to the planet. By the time of the war's end, Palpatine had amassed considerable power and proclaimed himself the head of a new Galactic Empire . Palpatine's reign would eventually be ended by the Alliance to Restore the Republic , a rebel movement led by Amidala's children, Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker .

Despite his origins on the planet, Palpatine did not care at all for his homeworld and, following his death , Naboo was named a priority target for Operation: Cinder , a protocol that the Sith Lord had put in place to destroy Imperial worlds should they fail to protect their Emperor . Through the intervention of Organa and Queen Sosha Soruna , however, Naboo was spared from ruin and went on to become a member of the successor state to the Alliance, the New Republic . Decades later, the planet would again fight against tyranny, rising up against the military junta of the First Order during its war with Organa's Resistance .

Description [ ]

NabooFull-SW

The picturesque planet of Naboo was located in the galaxy's Mid Rim region.

Naboo was a small pastoral world [53] in the Mid Rim , [1] located near the border of the Outer Rim Territories . [11] Unlike most other worlds, the ancient planet lacked a molten core, and instead comprised a conglomerate of large, rocky bodies that made up a network of tunnels and flooded caves. The native Gungans , who built their homes in the waters of Naboo, so deep that they went right through the planet, which they rarely ventured into the core, fearing the ravenous sea beasts which resided [1] in areas such as the Caves of Eleuabad . [9] Despite this, certain Gungan navigators utilized time-honored trade routes through the planet's structure, which served as the most expedient avenues to reach other areas of the planet. [1] Naboo's interior was rich with plasma , a naturally-occurring energy unique to the planet, and this coupled with its lack of molten core gave Naboo a reputation as an enigma to astrophysicists, who regarded the world's structure as an extremely rare phenomenon in the galaxy . [9]

Attack of the clones 3

With its grassy plains and waterfalls, Naboo was known as an idyllic world.

Naboo's surface comprised a vast array of different landscapes, from rolling plains and grassy hills to swampy lakes [11] caused by the water-filled network of deep-sea tunnels. [9] The swamps acted as a gateway to the world's seas, where legendary creatures dwelt. [7] Beside its natural features, Naboo was considered a world of classical beauty due to the aesthetics of its population centers. [11] The porous crust's natural plasma [9] was harvested for energy and building material, [48] and was generally thought to be the key to many of the planet's secrets. [9]

While most of Naboo's land animals were peaceful, as exemplified by the gentle shaak , the planet's oceans , [54] which held an abundance of life, [7] teemed with menacing creatures, [54] such as the opee sea killer [35] , the sando aqua monster [37] , and the colo claw fish [26] .

History [ ]

Early history [ ], pre-human colonization [ ].

Nass on Sacred Place

Gungans were the original inhabitants of Naboo prior to the arrival of offworlders.

Originally, Naboo was home to the amphibian Gungans. [1] The earliest offworlders to arrive were a Reptilian species known as the Elders who warred against the Gungans. Eventually, the Elders vanished as mysteriously as they arrived, leaving only stone statues behind. [3]

Arrival of humanity [ ]

DeejaPeakFarmers-CrisisOnNaboo

The Naboo were the descendants of human colonists who migrated from Grizmallt.

Approximately around 4000 BBY , Grizmallti people had discovered the planet, which they had named Nabu , after one of their principal deities. Naboo quickly became notorious as a vacation spot and as a private hunting preserve amongst big-game hunters across the Mid Rim, although it would be around a century before permanent human settlement. [13] Initially, the Gungans retreated underwater and avoided the colonists [3] and new interlopers. [13]

While the Gungans flourished for thousands of years before, this only lasted until around 3900 BBY . Fleeing a brutal civil war, [13] a group of humans from the planet Grizmallt crash-landed on Naboo and set up a small colony. As they established their own society, they initially kept separate from the Gungans. [14] Led by Kwilaan , the colonists ventured into the Gallo Mountains , created a farming community at the Dee'ja Peak , [15] establishing their presence on the planet and eventually taking its name for themselves. The Naboo calendar based its epoch around the arrival of Kwilaan. [56] When the colonists made contact with the Gungans, tensions arose between the two peoples, culminating a series of wars between the two species. [3] They subsequently resolved to separate and live apart from that point on. [57]

The Naboo colonists later expanded to other uninhabited planets in the Chommell sector , such as Karlinus . Naboo imposed a contract on the colonists of these other planets, wherein Naboo would give the new colonies a loan to cover the start-up costs of colonization. In exchange, the colonies became legally obligated to provide Naboo with any supplies it deemed were necessary if called upon in times of emergency. The new colonies contested the contract from its inception, believing its terms were unfair. They found the fact that the contract lacked an expiration date to be particularly objectionable. Under the contract, Naboo took advantage of every other planet in the Chommell sector from time to time. [58]

Gungan tribal war [ ]

Gungan society

The Gungans built their underwater capital of Otoh Gunga following a tribal war.

Following the wars with humans, the Gungan tribes engaged in war with each other. The war came to an end due to the actions of Boss Gallo , a Gungan who united the tribes under one banner through diplomatic and military means. Gallo eventually attacked the city Spearhead , which was the home of the rogue warlord Boss Rogoe and the other Gungan holdouts, with a massive Gungan army . Gallo then founded the Gungan capital Otoh Gunga on Spearhead's foundations. [13]

Time of Suffering and Great Time of Peace [ ]

Naboo2

The Naboo had achieved a state of peace and prosperity at the end of a prolonged period of brutal conflict.

Meanwhile, the Naboo had fallen prey to a long period of brutal infighting among the large city-states of humans that inhabited the planet. Eventually, a general named Jafan managed to end the war, uniting the opposing factions through both force of arms and force of will. [13] He became King Jafan, ruler of all the Naboo, [9] and ushered in the Great Time of Peace . [13]

In 867 BBY , Naboo joined the Galactic Republic , [59] the democratic union that sought to govern the galaxy . [60] The people of Naboo celebrated this event during the Festival of Light . [55] In 832 BBY , under the direction of King Jafan, the capital city of Theed was founded along the banks of the Solleu River with the Theed Royal Palace built on the Cliffs of Theed . [13]

Around 382 BBY [61] during the High Republic Era , Naboo was under the rule of a queen , from whom Axel Greylark , a gambler and son of Supreme Chancellor Kyong Greylark , wanted to buy a yacht . At the same time, fellow Supreme Chancellor Orlen Mollo traveled across the Galactic Frontier aboard the Paxion , which displayed different vistas from various currently-distant worlds on a wall of its library. During a mission to end the Eiram and E'ronoh War , it displayed the Theed Royal Palace and other sites. The Naboo Palace and the city of Coruscant were the only locations Jedi Knight Gella Nattai recognized. Asked to attend along with delegates from numerous other worlds by Chancellors Mollo and Greylark, delegates from Naboo, wearing their cultural clothing, arrived on Eiram for the wedding of Phan-tu Zenn and Xiri A'lbaran that promised to end the war. At least two Gungans attended the celebration. [62]

Later in the High Republic Era, the former Jedi Padawan Kantam Sy found the Force-sensitive Lula Talisola amongst the children cared for at an orphanage on Naboo. Returning to the Jedi Order , Sy became a Jedi Knight and Talisola's master. [63] The wealthy San Tekka clan was based on Naboo. [22]

Twilight of the Republic [ ]

Invasion of naboo [ ].

(audio)

The fourteen year old Padmé Amidala was elected to be the new Monarch of Naboo after Queen Sanandrassa decided to only have a single term. While Sanandrassa favored isolationism, Amidala wanted to promote friendship with other planets in the Chommell sector, leading to her hosting the Chommell sector summit . Additionally, after being urged to by Captain Quarsh Panaka , Amidala took on a group of Handmaidens , whom she quickly befriended, planning her days with them instead of Panaka. [46]

TheedAttack

The capital of Theed fell to the forces of the Trade Federation during the Invasion of Naboo.

Right as the Naboo summit ended, [46] about ten years before the Clone Wars , Naboo was blockaded and invaded by the Trade Federation . Amidala guided her home planet through the invasion and sealed a new friendship with the Gungans. [64] In an upsurge of sympathy and solidarity toward the invaded planet, the queen 's emissary in the Galactic Senate , the seemingly unassuming Senator Sheev Palpatine , was made Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. [10]

Naboo recovered quickly from the invasion under Amidala's remaining years, managing to almost completely restore its harvests and crop yields by the end of her final term. One of Amidala's final projects, which continued under the reign of her successor, was the implementation of an ion pulse in Theed in case of future invasions. The decision to install the pulse, whilst meeting with general approval, was nevertheless controversial as some, such as Quarsh Panaka, favored the idea of more robust and extensive defenses whilst others felt that installing any weapon system was against everything Naboo stood for in terms of peace. [65]

Clone Wars [ ]

Naboo Throne Room

The government of Naboo remained loyal to the Galactic Republic during the Separatist Crisis and the Clone Wars.

A series of miners strikes occurred on the moons of Naboo. [6] A mudslide disaster occurred on Naboo's secondary continent [58] in 22 BBY . [66] Both the Naboo and the Gungans remained loyal to the Republic during the Clone Wars, though many on Naboo were in despair at the idea of a galaxy-wide war. Senator Padmé Amidala and Representative Jar Jar Binks worked together to represent the interests of the Naboo and Gungans respectively in the Galactic Senate. [19] During the Clone Wars, Neeyutnee served as Queen of Naboo. [24] Early in the war, Amidala and Skywalker returned to the planet for their wedding [19] and spent several days on world for a honeymoon. [58]

Amidala and Binks, with the help of the Jedi Order and the Gungan Peppi Bow , discovered the Separatist scientist Nuvo Vindi 's secret laboratory in the Eastern swamps . [24] They managed to prevent Vindi from releasing stockpiles of the Blue Shadow Virus into Naboo's surface. [67] During the Battle of Mon Cala , elements of the Gungan Grand Army led by Representative Binks were dispatched to the watery planet of Mon Cala to aid Senator Amidala, the Jedi, the Clone SCUBA troopers , and the Mon Calamari Prince Lee-Char 's forces against the Separatist commander Riff Tamson and his Quarren allies. [68]

NeeyutneeLeaves-SW

By working together the Naboo and the Gungans prevented a Separatist attack on their shared homeworld.

Later, the Gungan Boss Lyonie came under the influence of the pro-Separatist minister Rish Loo . Under Loo's control, Lyonie ordered the Gungan Grand Army to march on the Naboo capital of Theed. Their plan was to rendezvous with a Separatist droid army led by General Grievous , who had been sent by Count Dooku himself. Rish Loo and Dooku's plot was foiled by the combined efforts of Senator Amidala, Representative Binks, the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker , and General Roos Tarpals . However, the Naboo and Gungans were forced to release Grievous after Dooku took Skywalker hostage. [21]

During the Festival of Light, Dooku sent Cad Bane and his team of bounty hunters to kidnap Palpatine in order to free Separatist prisoners from Republic captivity. At first, Bane and Moralo Eval were successful in capturing Palpatine. However, they were stopped by one of their fellow bounty hunters, Rako Hardeen , who was really Obi-Wan Kenobi in disguise. But, Bane planned a diversion in order to lure the Republic forces away while Dooku carried out the kidnapping. This failed, however, when he fought Kenobi and Skywalker. [55]

The dark times [ ]

Frontfuneral

Naboo was in a state of mourning for Padmé Amidala, who died following the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Following the rise of the Galactic Empire and Palpatine's self-proclamation as Emperor , Naboo hosted one of the new regime's military garrisons. [49] Shortly after the end of the Clone Wars, thousands of citizens gathered in the streets of Theed in order to assist to Amidala's funeral procession . [69] At that time, Sio Bibble had finally decided to retire from governorship over Naboo, setting the stage for an election that Saché was seemingly going to win. [65] However, Naboo's internal politics were also interfered with by the new regime; while the people were still permitted to elect their monarchs, those who gained the office had little real power or influence. [70] The position of governor was also abolished. [65] Instead, all major decisions regarding Naboo were placed firmly in the hands of the sector's Moff , a position held by [70] Palpatine's close ally [46] and former Security Forces officer Quarsh Panaka, [70] who was appointed before the election for governor could even happen. [65]

Vader3-Vader-stands-on-Naboo

Darth Vader on Naboo in 3 ABY

Though one of the less corrupt Imperial officials, Panaka was assassinated by Saw Gerrera 's Partisans insurgency [70] in 3 BBY . [71] Due to its status as Palpatine's homeworld, Naboo prospered during the Age of the Empire . Its economy and environment were regarded to be far healthier than most worlds which had been subject to Imperial rule. [50] Nevertheless, the people of Naboo resented the fact that it was their world that brought forth a man like Palpatine. The Empire also demilitarized Naboo and dissolved the Royal Naboo Security Forces 's starfighter wing. As a result, Naboo lacked any combat-trained pilots by the time of the Battle of Endor . [72]

Sabé , former handmaiden of Padme Amidala, brought Darth Vader to Naboo in 3 ABY . Typho and his rebel team fought him. The rebels went as far as baiting a Sando aqua monster into fighting the Dark Lord of the Sith . Ric Olié and his rebel cell, the Amidalans , attempted to protect Padmé's tomb from Vader, but were killed in the process. The handmaidens gathered for a final stand. They were unable to prevent Darth Vader from breaching the tomb. [73]

A new era [ ]

Rise of the new republic [ ].

When news of Emperor Palpatine's death had spread across the galaxy after the Battle of Endor , an outpouring of joy occurred on Naboo, the inhabitants of which considered themselves free at last. [74]

The death of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine was celebrated on his homeworld of Naboo by humans and Gungans alike.

Some twenty days after the Battle of Endor—which resulted in the defeat of the Empire by the Alliance to Restore the Republic —the Royal House of Naboo received a visit by Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan , who had been sent by Mon Mothma , Chancellor of the Alliance. In the royal palace's throne room, Organa met the then-Queen of Naboo, Sosha Soruna , and asked for Naboo's support in the establishment of a New Republic and the restoration of the Senate . The queen heartily accepted Organa's offer, claiming that the Naboo felt great shame over Palpatine's actions. [52]

Operation: Cinder [ ]

SWBF2 Battle of Naboo Space

Aided by the Rebel Alliance, the Naboo fought to save their world from the Empire during Operation: Cinder.

During the meeting, gigantic storms suddenly began to rage, and Naboo's orbital sensors were all jammed. The Empire had set up a climate disruption array in orbit , as ordered by the late Emperor Palpatine. Named Operation: Cinder , the Empire's plan was to disrupt Naboo's environment and climate, and thus render the planet inhospitable. [52] The storms caused fires and flooding across the world, and many buildings were demolished. Soruna, Organa, and Alliance pilot Shara Bey finally decided to use three old N-1 starfighters —that had been stored by Queen Neeyutnee in the Theed Hangar during the Clone Wars—and go protect Naboo by destroying the Empire's satellites . Once in space , the three women were attacked by a squadron of TIE fighters , but managed, nonetheless, to knock out all of the satellites. A Rebel fleet led by Lando Calrissian and Nien Nunb soon arrived to take care of the Imperial forces. [72] The fleet consisted of members of Danger Squadron , which arrived in T-65B X-wing starfighters led by Danger Leader Duros Shriv Suurgav , [28] Nunb in the Mellcrawler II , and the MC80 Star Cruiser Restoration . [72]

NabooIonPulse

With their weapons and vehicles disabled by Theed's ion defense, the Imperials were forced to surrender to the Naboo and their Rebel allies.

Danger Squadron temporarily included former Inferno Squad members and recent Imperial defectors Iden Versio and Del Meeko to assist the three women in the destruction of the satellites. After their destruction, the Imperial II -class Star Destroyer Torment was then engaged by Danger Squadron and several Y-wing bombers , and the Restoration delivered the fatal blow to the hull of the Torment . The Alliance forces then gathered upon the ground to immobilize remaining Imperials in the final ground assault to try and take control of Theed. Imperial forces were immobilized by the ion pulse rendering all of their weapons and vehicles inoperable leading to the surrender of Imperial forces. [28]

Due to the fact that Naboo had been the Emperor's homeworld, the planet became a rallying point for Imperial sympathizers. Months after the failed Operation: Cinder, the Imperial Navy deployed three attack forces to wipe out the New Republic's presence in the Naboo system . However, these attempts were successfully foiled by Corona Squadron . [50]

Rise of the First Order [ ]

During the Cold War nearly thirty years later between the First Order and the Resistance , Senator Thadlé Berenko represented Naboo in the reconstituted New Republic Senate. [76] Berenko was among the millions killed when the First Order destroyed Hosnian Prime , the home of the Senate at the time. [75]

By 35 ABY , [77] Naboo's skies were being patrolled by Star Destroyers from the First Order as part of its expansive efforts to establish galactic dominance. At some point later, Naboo engaged in open rebellion against the First Order, simultaneous with other planets such as Bespin and Coruscant leading to the successful overthrow of the entire regime. [78]

Society and culture [ ]

Naboo celebration

The commitment to the defense of Naboo brought its human and Gungan inhabitants together when threatened by an external enemy.

Naboo was inhabited by two societies: an indigenous species of intelligent amphibians called the Gungans and a group of peaceful humans who were referred to as the Naboo. [11] In the distant past, a cultural misunderstanding resulted in a serious quarrel between the Gungan and the human colonists. Both sides refused to acknowledge their responsibilities in the rift, and the two groups ostracized each other for the longest time. That situation lasted until the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation forced the humans and Gungans to join forces. [57]

Naboo culture fostered the artist in every citizen, encouraging children to become musicians, performers, painters, and similar professions. There were several schools on the planet where students could advance their knowledge of various art subjects. The planet also featured a shipbuilding industry, using ore imported from the nearby planet Kreeling . [46]

Both the Naboo and Gungans had a close relationship with water. [9] Fish was an important food to the people of Naboo. [46]

Behind the scenes [ ]

Naboo first appeared in the 1999 film Star Wars : Episode I The Phantom Menace , the first installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy . [10] It was later featured in 2002 's Star Wars : Episode II Attack of the Clones [19] and 2005 's Star Wars : Episode III Revenge of the Sith . [69]

The real-world locations for Naboo were Plaza de España in Seville , Spain and Lake Como and Caserta Palace in Italy , among others. The buildings of Naboo were based on the Hagia Sophia , a cathedral turned mosque then turned museum located in Istanbul , Turkey . On the other hand, the architecture of Naboo was inspired by the domed and scalloped roofs of the Marin County Civic Center . [79]

The exact number of moons in Naboo is currently unknown. In Attack of the Clones , Mace Windu mentions "spice miners on the moons of Naboo." [19] However, the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations states that Naboo has only one moon. [9] The 2018 novel Thrawn: Alliances confirms that Naboo has three moons. [5] There is also a discrepancy over the names of the three moons: Nexus of Power states that the moons where Ohma-D'un , Rori , and a small third moon that has no in-universe name, [13] while Rise of the Separatists , a sourcebook from Star Wars Roleplaying , states that the three moons of Naboo are Rori , Veruna , and Ohma-D'un . [3] However, the novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan prominently includes the moon Onoam . [6] Rori and Onoam have similar descriptions, [6] [13] but as yet there has been no clarification for the discrepancy.

"it's a little mid-life crisis": the mandalorian star is not a fan of din djarin's new ship.

Exclusive: The Mandalorian Din Djarin body double actor Brendan Wayne doesn't think the Mandalorian's new N-1 Starfighter is right for Grogu's dad.

  • Din Djarin's body double doesn't think the N-1 Starfighter suits his new role as a dad, calling it a "mid-life crisis-y" choice.
  • In The Mandalorian season 3, Din officially adopts Grogu as his apprentice, setting up new dynamics for future adventures.
  • Fans may see Din Djarin ditch his N-1 Starfighter for a more family-friendly Razor Crest in The Mandalorian & Grogu movie.

The Mandalorian's Din Djarin body double actor Brendan Wayne doesn't love the Mandalorian's new N-1 Starfighter, as it makes the newest Star Wars dad seem like he's having a bit of a mid-life crisis. In The Mandalorian season 3 ending , Din Djarin finally formally adopts Grogu, also taking him on as his Mandalorian apprentice, thrilling audiences. Now that Din Djarin is officially a dad, though, one actor from The Mandalorian believes the N-1 is not the ideal ship for the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie .

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Din Djarin body double actor Brendan Wayne explained that, while the N-1 Starfighter is a beautiful ship, it's just not quite right for The Mandalorian's new family. Wayne said:

I like that N-1, I like the story behind the N-1, but I feel like it's a little mid-life crisis-y for Din. All of a sudden, now he's like I've got a sports car, I've got this kid stuck in a bubble. I feel like I didn't even get a chance to put a sticker on the back of the Razor Crest that says, "My kid plays at..."

With Din Djarin officially a dad, it will be interesting to see how his character has changed and developed in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Star Gives An Exciting Update On The Next Star Wars Movie Script

Din djarin needs to get another razor crest.

Following The Mandalorian season 3, Din Djarin may very well have to ditch the ship equivalent to a sports car. Din Djarin's N-1 first appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, when he notably did not have Grogu because Grogu had gone to Luke Skywalker's Jedi Temple to train as a Jedi. It makes sense why Din Djarin would have gotten a 'mid-life crisis' ship, believing this child he loved had left him, and he was once again on his own.

It makes sense why Din Djarin would have gotten a 'mid-life crisis' ship, believing this child he loved had left him, and he was once again on his own.

However, because of Luke's insistence that Grogu pick between Din Djarin and the path of a Jedi, Grogu left the Temple, returning to Din Djarin. With Grogu back, it may be time to return to a Razor Crest, the ship Din Djarin had before the Naboo starfighter , which would offer more room for father and son. While it may not have a bumper sticker, it would better suit the little family, even as they have agreed to help the New Republic with the occasional mission.

It will be exciting to see what changes Din Djarin has implemented by The Mandalorian & Grogu. Initially, audiences expected The Mandalorian season 4, so the twist that the two would next appear on the big screen was a surprising but fascinating update. It remains to be seen what exactly this plot will be, but it nevertheless holds true that Din Djarin's new N-1 Starfighter might not be the best fit for The Mandalorian's proud new father.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

naboo yacht mandalorian

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
