Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Inside Lawrence Stroll’s $282 Million Superyacht ‘Faith’

Nick Kenyon

If you’re a billionaire and you don’t own a superyacht, there’s a reasonable case to be made that you’re not enjoying your money as much as you could be. Fortunately, there’s virtually zero doubt that Lawrence Stroll is enjoying his wealth to its absolute fullest, as the owner of the Faith superyacht that was recently spotted by Boss Hunting’s very own James Want at the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.

As the National Post noticed, this year’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix had a noticeably smaller contingent of superyacht owners, thanks mostly to the international sanctions on Russia’s wealthiest citizens that have seen billions of dollars of assets seized by various governments around the world. This meant Lawrence Stroll’s Faith was one of the largest superyachts in town on race day, with a length of nearly 97m and enough space for a dozen of Stroll’s nearest and dearest.

As you’d expect from a vessel worth an estimated US$200 million (AU$281,792,000), Faith offers a large lounge area complete with a toasty fireplace, private movie theatre, gym, 9-meter swimming pool, spa and plunge pool, as well as several bar areas to enjoy a spritz in the sun. If that sounded a little too pedestrian for your taste, the superyacht also has a Flyboard (you know, the waterjet powered hoverboard), several jet skis, kayaks, wakeboards and even a couple of water slides.

While the Faith is owned by Stroll, it’s also available for private charter via Yacht Charter Fleet. For a week on the Faith, you can expect to pay approximately US$1,395,500 (AU$1,965,963), with summer season hotspots including the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, French Riviera, and Sardinia, while popular winter season anchor drops are around the Caribbean.

Coming in second place at 317 feet long is the Faith, owned by Canadian fashion entrepreneur Lawrence Stroll, whose son Lance drives for the Aston Martin F1 team. Lawrence Stroll’s net worth is $2.9 billion, Forbes reported .

The yacht came with a US$200 million price tag. It can host up to 18 guests and has nine staterooms, according to Yacht Bible . It has indoor and outdoor fireplaces in the private owner’s deck, a movie theatre, gym, a wine cellar and a wellness area.

The nearly 100-year-old annual race is expected to see some showers over the next couple of days, though it’s not expected to deter the floating party scene. More than 80 super yachts, at a combined length of 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles), are already clustered off the tiny city-state in the French Riviera, with more likely en route.

The superyacht world was thrown into turmoil following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions placed on billionaire Russian oligarchs.

More than a dozen yachts worth over US$2.25 billion have already been seized. The seizures have sent the luxury vessels racing across oceans to locales that aren’t as likely to impose or enforce sanctions. Some have logged more than 5,000 nautical miles since the start of the invasion in February.

One of the biggest superyachts, Eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abromavich, is 533 feet and would have towered over Lee-Chin’s vessel; however, it was notably absent in Monaco.

One of the first yachts seized, Dilbar , owned by another Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, would have also towered over the other vessels in Monaco, at 512 feet. It was impounded by German authorities while it was undergoing repairs, Page Six reported in March. Since then, other yachts and even private jets owned by Russians with connections to President Vladimir Putin have been seized.

The absence of Russian superyachts pushed the two Canadians into the lead for largest yacht — although the country with the most was Greece, closely followed by the United States and France. Russia did not make Bloomberg’s superyacht leaderboard .

Luxuries of Aston Martin F1 Billionaire Lawrence Stroll & His $200 Million Worth “Faith”

lance stroll yacht monaco

Having a yacht symbolizes the wealth you possess and how well are you enjoying the same. Such is the case for one of the richest team owners of F1 – Lawrence Stroll. The Canadian billionaire owns a superyacht named Faith worth approximately $200 million. Faith was anchored in the Monaco harbor at the 2022 Monaco GP. It was one of the biggest yachts near the French Riviera that weekend.

Lawrence Stroll is the current owner of the Aston Martin F1 team. He bought a team as part of a consortium that saved the Force India team under administration in 2018.

Since then Stroll has heavily invested in the development of the outfit, renaming it Racing Point in 2019. He further bought a sizeable stake in Aston Martin and rebranded the Silverstone team as Aston Martin.

It is powered by two MTU diesel engines that give it an average speed of 15 knots, and a top speed of 17 knots. The superyacht easily covers destinations up to 5,000 nautical miles away. As per yachtbible.com, it currently sails under the Cayman Islands flag.

Who is Lance Stroll’s Father, Lawrence Stroll?

Apparently, Stroll has to shell out a good $15 – $20 million annually to maintain all these luxuries on Faith. Meanwhile, if anyone wished to charter the superyacht, the costs may range from $1.2 to $1.5 million weekly.

Faith can cover the premium summer season hotspot destinations like the French Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, and Sardinia. Besides these, the major winter season points covered are mainly in the Caribbean.

The largest yacht in Monaco's harbour

Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, Zak Brown & Mike Jones share McLaren's limited edition livery ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. (1:56)

lance stroll yacht monaco

MONACO -- If the wide shots of the Monaco Grand Prix look a little less spectacular this year, it's probably because the circuit's famous harbour is operating at little over half capacity.

Port Hercule, which is skirted by Monaco's famous race track on two sides, usually acts as a magnet for the Mediterranean's superyachts at this time of year, turning 160,000 square metres of liquid real estate into the ultimate playground for the rich and famous.

On a race weekend, a berth in Port Hercule can cost anywhere between €8,000 and €128,000 depending on location and size of boat, with the most expensive positions offering a view of the track from the Nouvelle Chicane to the Swimming Pool complex.

The very biggest boats have no choice but to moor on "The T" behind the Swimming Pool grandstand, with their bows pointing out to sea.

But the COVID-19 pandemic has curbed the party in 2021, with loud music banned after 10 p.m. and no more than 12 guests on a yacht at any time.

The largest yacht in the harbour this year is "Faith", a 316-foot leviathan worth an estimated $200,000,000.

In 2019 it was anchored further down the coastline, acting as the base for Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll and his racing driver son, Lance.

Recent media reports suggest Faith has been sold to Michael Latifi, the billionaire chairman and CEO of Sofina Foods and father of Williams racing driver Nicholas.

Details of Faith can be found online , including its seasonal charter rates, which start at an eye-watering €1,200,000 per week and rise to €1,500,000.

That money not only buys you a lot of yacht for seven days, but also a list of amenities that would make several of Monaco's five-star hotels look rather ill-equipped.

The five-storey floating palace houses a cinema, spa, swimming pool, massage room, steam room, hammam, gym and, rumour has it, a snow room.

It has seven bedrooms that can sleep up to 12 guests, a VIP stateroom to entertain friends and includes an elevator to conveniently link its decks.

Faith also comes laden with toys, including two jet skis, an electric foiling surfboard, three sea bobs and two kayaks.

A helipad and helicopter hangar are built into the floating superstructure, although it seems as though you have to provide your own helicopter.

One charter website carrying details of Faith, claims its "impressive leisure and entertainment facilities make her the ideal charter yacht for socialising and entertaining with family and friends".

F1 boss Lawrence Stroll owns £50m Ferrari, had £200m superyacht & married stunning designer 37 years his junior

  • Published : 3:05 ET, Nov 11 2021
  • Updated : 3:06 ET, Nov 11 2021

F1 boss Lawrence Stroll owns the most expensive car in the world, had a £200million yacht and married a Brazilian beauty 37 years his junior.

The Canadian businessman, 62, is part-owner of the Aston Martin Team.

Lawrence Stroll is the billionaire owner of the Aston Martin F1 team

Worth over £2billion, he has amassed a collection vintage Ferraris.

The jewel in the crown is his Ferrari 250 GTO - the world's most expensive car - that's now worth around £50million.

Mega-rich Stroll, who made someof his fortune by investing in fashion houses Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors, also spent his holidays aboard his £200m superyacht, sometimes with pal Michael Douglas.

Last year, he married Brazilian stunner Raquel Diniz, 35, in the Caribbean island of Mustique.

BORN INTO MONEY

Stroll is the son of Jewish fashion importer, Leo Strulovitch.

The family grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where the father introduced brands including Pierre Cardin and Ralph Lauren to Canadians.

He would later bring Ralph Lauren to Europe.

Investing in luxury brands runs in the family for Stroll, who made his millions by selling shareholdings in Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors that left him with substantial resources.

However, he still owns a stake in British Mayfair jeweller Asprey & Garrard.

Stroll made his money by investing in fashion brands, including Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors

Stroll began his F1 dream in 2018, buying into Force One team, renaming it Racing Point Force India, and entering the season at the midway stage.

In 2019, they became the Racing Point F1 Team - with Lawrence enlisting his son, Lance as one of his drivers.

A year later, Stroll led a consortium to invest £182million into Aston Martin for a 16.7 per cent stake in the company.

This year, the Racing Point F1 team was again rebranded as Aston Martin.

Buying a F1 team was no surprise considering Stroll is obsessed by fast cars.

Over the years, he has amassed a car collection said to be worth an astonishing £140million.

It's Ferraris that are his biggest passion, and owns a super fleet of them to be envied.

He splashed £20million on a rare 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB in 2013, and has several LaFerraris, including the most recent model.

But it's his Ferrari 250 GTO that is certainly the most impressive.

Said to be the most expensive car in the world, it fetched around £50million in a private sale in 2018 to American businessman David MacNeil.

Other cars in his collection include McLarens and a Ford GT.

Car collector Stroll owns a Ferrari GTO 250 - the most expensive car in the world and said to be worth £50m

SHIPPING MAGNET

For Lawrence Stroll, he had to have Faith... his superyacht worth around £200million.

Seen docked in Monaco during race weekend, the 62-meter vessel was built in 2017.

Her notable features include a glass-bottomed swimming pool with waterfall, a beach club and wet bar.

There's a fireplace in the main lounge, a sundeck charcoal over, as well as a pizza oven.

Stroll has invited pals on board, including movie star Michael Douglas with Catherine Zeta Jones.

Made In Chelsea star Kimberly Garner was also spotted with son Lance in a revealing bikini, sparking rumours the pair were dating.

Recent reports have suggested Stroll has parted ways with Faith - selling her to Michael Latifi, the father of Williams driver Nicholas Latifi.

Stroll is believed to be building an 80-meter yacht in the Netherlands to replace it.

Superyacht Faith is worth around £200million

NEPOTISM, PERHAPS?

When you own a racing car team, it's easy to hire who you want. And it just so happens that Lawrence's son Lance drives for Aston Martin.

The 23-year-old began with Williams in 2017 in some controversy and was seen as a 'pay driver'.

Lawrence bought their Prema F3 team and appointed well-known Ferrari engineer Luca Baldisserri to mentor his son - spending £60million, according to German outlet Auto Motor und Sport.

He also splashed the cash on a high-tech simulator at Williams' race shop, which then drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa couldn't use because it was calibrated for F3.

However, prior to joining Williams Lance had experience of competitive motorsport - winning the Italian F4 championship, Toyota Racing Series and the F3 European Championship in open wheel junior categories.

"Everyone has their own opinion, I can't change that," Lance told The Times.

"I come from money, I am not going to deny that. But I believe I won my shot in F1 because I won every championship I have competed in in single-seaters."

It was alleged Lance Stroll got a F1 seat at Williams because Lawrence invested in Williams

YOUNGER WIFE

Stroll was married to Belgium-born Claire-Ann Callens, who he had Lance and their daughter, Chloe with.

But in recent years it's stunning Brazilian beauty Raquel Diniz that has been seen on his arm in the pitlane.

The 35-year-old is a fashion designer, who set up her own fashion brand in 2016.

Her elegant gowns and bohemian dresses sell on FARFETCH for thousands of pounds.

Last year, Stroll took over the island of Mustique for three days as he and Raquel walked down the aisle in a lavish ceremony.

Yachts gp monaco 2017: the boats from lauda and stroll.

' src=

D he yachts in the harbor are part of the Grand Prix experience in Monaco as well as the racing cars and the pretty women. There is as much activity on the water all weekend as there is on the principality's streets. There are regular traffic jams at the port entrance. The police have their hands full regulating the traffic.

Red Bull yachts are sailing around VIPs

The largest boat in the harbor is actually not a boat at all. The Red Bull motorhome called Energy-Station floats on a pontoon, but has no drive itself. Every year it has to be dragged to its place opposite the other motorhomes on the quay wall. The team's VIP guests will be shuttled through the harbor in their own shuttle yachts.

One of the largest yachts moored in Monaco this year belongs to Lawrence Stroll. Williams rookie Lance Stroll's father made billions in the fashion business. You can spend 200 million on a 67 meter yacht. 34 crew members are necessary to keep operations on the “Faith” going.

Lauda moored with “Princess Too”

Niki Lauda also spends most of the Monaco week on the water. The three-time Formula 1 world champion in the service of Mercedes has moored with his 'Princess Too' - right next to the Stroll yacht. At “only” 47.5 meters, Lauda clearly draws the short straw here in length comparison.

In the gallery we take you on a tour of the port of Monaco and show you the yachts from Stroll, Lauda and Co.

Not only Charles Leclerc , but Lance Stroll must also report to the stewards after qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix . The Aston Martin driver missed the signal that called him to the weighbridge, meaning he is now under scrutiny for an alleged technical infringement.

Stroll taken to stewards

When Stroll entered the pits midway through Q2, he was called to the weighbridge by the FIA . However, the 24-year-old Canadian did not see the light signal and instead stopped at the Aston Martin garage as usual.

Not only did he fail to reach Q3, but now a penalty may be hanging over his head. It is possible Stroll will face a disqualification, which would see his 14th place in qualifying scrapped and he would have to start the Monaco Grand Prix from the back row of the grid.

Update | No penalty for Stroll

After listening to Stroll's story and watching the video footage, the stewards were convinced that the Aston Martin driver was not at fault. The team took the car back to the weighbridge without having worked on the car in the meantime and so the stewards do not consider a penalty necessary.

Lance Stroll escapes punishment after Monaco weighbridge transgression

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll at the Monaco Grand Prix. Monte Carlo, May 2023.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was called before the stewards in Monaco for a qualifying weighbridge transgression.

Lance Stroll was one of the drivers investigated by the stewards in Monte Carlo after a frantic qualifying session.

While Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc headed off to see the stewards after the Ferrari driver impeded Norris through the tunnel while the McLaren driver was on a flying lap, Stroll was called before the stewards for a more technical transgression.

Entering the pits midway through Q2, the Aston Martin driver was summoned to visit the weighbridge by the FIA stewards. But Stroll didn’t appear to see the light change to call him in, instead proceeding down the pit lane to stop at his garage where his mechanics fitted his car with the usual cooling fans and accoutrements.

Stroll was eliminated from Q2 down in 14th place, with his day going to bad to worse as the stewards have called him up for an “Alleged breach of Article 35.1 b) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations,” this relating to a “weighbridge procedure infringement”.

The wording of the regulation is that “Any driver who fails to stop when asked to do so, and then fails to bring the car back to the FIA garage, or if work is carried out on the car before it is returned to the FIA garage, will be referred to the stewards.”

The stewards though were satisfied that Aston Martin had brought Stroll’s car back to the weighbridge without working on it, and so took no further action.

Stroll on Monaco GP disappointment: 'Don't know whether to laugh or cry'

The Aston Martin driver was one of two drivers to retire from the race after several encounters with the barrier in tricky conditions.

Stroll monaco

Lance Stroll commented that he had to contend with brake problems before exiting the Monaco Grand Prix.

After a poor qualifying, the Canadian was running outside the top ten and was hampered by contact with Red Bull's Sergio Perez, who began to get frustrated at the rear of the field.

When the rain hit around Lap 50, Stroll managed to pit for Intermediates as the track conditions worsened before stopping on Lap 53 with problems.

Prior to his retirement, onboards show the Aston Martin driver struggling to get his car to stop through the Loews hairpin and hitting the barrier.

With his front wing lodged under his wheels the Canadian hit the barriers for a second time at Mirabeau, before he elected to park his AMR23.

Stroll struggled to stop the car in the tricky conditions

Speaking after the race, Stroll believed he had problems relating to the brakes on his car, which made it difficult to stop.

"I had some issues with the car and couldn't slow down and I hit the wall like five times," he told media, including RacingNews365.com .

"I started feeling the car struggling to slow down before the rain, and then when it started to rain, I just couldn't start to slow down the car."

It was the second retirement of the season for Stroll, after having to retire from the race in Saudi Arabia with technical problems.

When asked how he felt about how his weekend had unfolded, the Canadian looked on the bright side: "Laugh or cry, you know? You might as well laugh."

His retirement and a top five finish for both Mercedes drivers enabled them to close the gap in the Constructors' Championship, with the pair now separated by just one point.

Day of learning in Monaco for Lance

Lance stroll ended friday practice for the 2022 monaco grand prix in 16th..

Lance started FP1 on the Hard tyre and switched to the Softs to set his benchmark lap, a 1.19.349, to place third early in the session.

After falling to 15th, a red flag caused by Mick Schumacher paused all track action until the circuit was deemed to be clear.

Completing 26 laps of the iconic Monaco circuit as he gathered valuable tyre data, Lance put in his best lap time of 1.15.539 to place 12th.

Returning for FP2, Lance ran the on the Medium tyre in the early stages of the session as he continued to gather crucial tyre data ahead of the weekend.

Another red flag halted all running and Lance returned to the pits, making the switch to the Softs in preparation for the session restart.

Amassing 29 laps in the second practice, Lance ended the day in 16th position with his fastest lap time of 1.14.623.

Lance Stroll – Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One™ Team Driver

“It is great to be back in Monaco. Regardless of the car regulations, it is still the same track with the same corners and challenges. Today was a good opportunity to continue understanding the latest car developments and build on our experience in Barcelona. The tyres were overheating a bit in the hot weather, so managing the degradation will be a key part of the race on Sunday. As always, there are still a few things to work on, but I am confident we will make progress before qualifying.”

Lance Stroll was once more beleaguered by brake issues on Sunday and was forced to retire from the Monaco Grand Prix on the 72nd lap.

After a collision between McLaren-Honda driver Jenson Button and Sauber driver Pascal Wehrlein on the 61st lap, Stroll was heard complaining about brake issues on the Williams radio.

Stroll, who was 15th and last among the remaining the drivers, decided to lift his foot off the brakes and make a pit stop to put an end to his race.

“It wasn’t going too badly during the race, but when the security car came out, it became very difficult for many drivers — there were many accidents,” Stroll said. “The brakes lost a lot of heat and it was hard to regain the right temperature.”

According to Williams technical chief Paddy Lowe, Stroll’s exit was not caused by the same problem that occurred on Saturday during qualifications when he was forced to quit early because of a hydraulic leak stemming from the brakes.

“Lance had a solid performance but, unfortunately, we had to ask him to abandon the race because of an issue with the braking system on the left hand side,” Lowe explained. “It looks like it resulted from debris coming from the track which blocked the brake’s cooling system.”

Stroll started the race with no problems and maintained 17th position. He even climbed up one spot after Renault driver Nico Hulkenberg retired after the 17th lap. Despite this, Stroll still wasn’t satisfied with his early performance.

“I didn’t have the best start because I was blocked on the first turn,” he said. “I don’t think I can do anything to regain lost ground in Monaco. It would have been nice to finish the race.”

The Mont-Tremblant native found himself right in front of  Force India driver Sergio Perez. Stroll managed to mitigate Perez’s attacks by grazing the security barriers on several occasions.

Stroll took advantage of the narrow circuit to shut the door until the 35th lap. That’s when pit-stop strategy came into play.

After making a stop on the 41st lap for a tire change, Stroll found himself in 15th position right behind Renault pilot Jolyon Palmer.

A few laps later, the collision between Wehrlein and Button led to Stroll’s retirement.

Stroll will have to wait another two weeks to record his first F1 point at the Montreal Grand Prix from June 9 to 11.

“I’m really excited to be in Montreal, to go home and see my family and friends,” he said. “I’m feeling a lot of positive vibes and I feel confident because our car has performed well in Montreal historically.”
