Custom Line 140: Inside the new 42m Custom Line flagship

Ferretti Group has offered a first look inside its brand new 42.6 metre Custom Line flagship.
Named Custom Line 140, the yacht made its first appearance at Ferretti Group's Private Preview at the Yacht Club de Monaco and went on to make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
According to Custom Line, the new flagship aims to balance generous onboard spaces with optimal performance to create a leader in this size segment. As well as a fast-displacement hull that allows top speeds of 21.5 knots, the yacht also has a roomy tri-deck design and a gross tonnage of almost 400GT.
This space presents itself in interiors extending across more than 300 square metres and over 200 square metres of outdoor area. On each deck, the design team has ensured a separation between guest and crew areas.
The yacht’s impressive performance is matched by a sporty exterior aesthetic. Exterior and interior styling are by Florence-based studio Francesco Paszkowski Design . Her interior comes from a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski, Margherita Casprini and the Custom Line Atelier.
The yacht has been created in partnership with the Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
Inspired by residential architecture and backed by in-depth research into shapes and volume, the yacht features a number of key design elements.
In the main saloon, the overhead heights stretch up 2.1 metres and the space is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows, one of which can be opened. Ivory and diamond-cut leather work with a dark oak parquet floor to give the space a clean, stylish look.
Other key features include a 44-square-metre owner’s cabin fitted with a double walk-in wardrobe and full-beam en suite, which can be fitted with a panoramic terrace if the owner so chooses.
The remaining cabins can be found on the lower deck, comprising three VIP cabins and a guest cabin with twin beds, all with en-suite bathrooms. A complement of seven crew can be housed on board.
Owners will also find a beach club that makes full use of the yacht’s 8.54 metre beam and a spacious 70-square-metre sundeck that's split between three distinct areas. These include a relaxation area with a hydromassage tub and sunbeds, an American bar area forward, and a sheltered lounge area amidships.
The upper deck aft offers an alternative al fresco dining spot for up to ten people, which is connected to a panoramic skylounge via sliding glass doors.
Propulsion comes from a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines rated 2,638 mhp each.
According to BOAT Pro , there is a total of three Custom Line 140 superyachts currently on order or in-build.

Custom Line Launches Three More Yachts

Custom Line , an Italian shipyard that’s part of the Ferretti Group, squeezed in three more launches as 2023 drew to a close, bringing the yard’s total number of yacht launches for last year to 21.
The first of the three yachts to hit the water before the calendar turned to the new year is Nimir , which is Hull No. 11 of the Custom Line Navetta 42. Length overall is 137 feet, 2 inches, with a beam of 26 feet, 7 inches.
Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department developed the project, with interior design by Custom Line Atelier. The yacht’s color palette includes what Custom Line calls subtle milk white and sand, along with elegant shades of gray. Various types of marble used in the décor include bianca gioia, travertino titanio and Carrara, with an aim of creating a regal, yet refined style.
Also launched toward the end of the year, on December 5, is Hull No. 20 of the Custom Line 106 . This is a planing yacht with a length overall of 107 feet, 8 inches, and a beam of 24 feet, 3 inches.
On this yacht, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department worked with Francesco Paszkowski Design on interior and exterior styling. Custom Line Atelier handled interior design. Custom Line says the interiors on this yacht include woodwork that’s silky gray, paired with a combination of neutral whites and pearls, and vivid bronze and anthracite. Nubuck leather is among the décor’s materials, which also include statuario extra marble and polished arabescato orobico marble.
Last but not least, the third launch to squeeze in before the new year is Hull No. 30 of the Custom Line Navetta 33, christened Pufferfish .
This yacht is a collaboration among the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee for exterior styling and Engineering Department on interiors, in consultation with Custom Line Atelier. At 108 feet, 3 inches long and 24 feet, 8 inches wide, Pufferfish has interiors that combine silky grays with pinks, blues and oranges in the décor and furnishings—which were custom made. Marble includes calacatta oro.
