Vitamin Sea Catamaran Half-Day Cruise

Start your day with an unforgettable adventure as you cruise across Bora Bora's infamous blue lagoon aboard a Vitamin Sea 40-ft. sailing catamaran. On this excursion, you will have the opportunity to swim, snorkel, soak up the sun, and admire the incredible views. While aboard, you are welcome to use the vessel`s many amenities including: sunbathing mattresses, towels, music, refreshments, snacks and one bottle of Champagne per couple. Price is per person, maximum 8 passengers or 4 couples. Private cruises are also available .   Operates: TUE FRI Pick-Up Location:  From your hotel's dock *Pickup and dropoff times and locations subject to change.  

*Activity reservations may be made for all current Tahiti.com clients with minimum bookings of at least one night hotel and when made a minimum 5 business days prior to departure. For Tahiti.com clients traveling throughout French Polynesia on a cruise we are unable to book shore activities. For clients who have not made reservations with Tahiti.com, only private excursions may be requested on days that cruise ships are not in port, and a minimum booking fee of $50 per person will apply, subject to availability.

Sailing Bora Bora with Vitamin Sea

We were on the hunt for the best things to do in Bora Bora when recent visitors told us that sailing Bora Bora with Vitamin Sea was an essential experience to have. So before our June vacation I reserved a place on the half day sailing and floating bar excursion.

On our arrival at St Regis resort we caught our first glimpse of Vitamin Sea and were impressed by her streamlined body and the comfortable netting that would carry us over the water. We were looking forward to climbing aboard, as sailing on the Bora Bora lagoon would be a new experience for us.

Our sailing day came around and we had perfect sunny weather – but the air was still! Not a puff or breeze to be felt. We rode our bikes to the dock and, as we were greeted by the crew, Captain Nick calmly assured us that he knew where to find the wind.

On climbing aboard Vitamin Sea we found that the catamaran is made up of 4 netted areas, with a padded mat in each for support. The excursion only takes 4 couples, so each has ample space and privacy in their own netted area, with a cushion and towel to lounge on.

After everyone had settled in, Captain Nick set us on our way with a small engine to fuel us. He headed south to find wind. This happens to be the most beautiful area of the lagoon with the clearest water and most varying shades of turquoise. If I was the wind I’d hang out there too! As we slowly moved past prime views of Mt Otemanu we felt the wind pick up, and the sails were hoisted! That's the beauty of the Vitamin Sea catamaran - it's so simple, streamlined and light that it can sail in very little wind. So every time out there’s likely to be a sailing experience.

I lay in the sunshine, with turquoise water rushing below, mesmerized by towering Mt Otemanu gleaming in the morning light. It felt like we were flying; the smoothness and silence of sailing is so magical. As we glided along I saw an opportunity to capture the lagoon and mountain to take home on my camera. Most excursioners were cuddling with their sweetheart or talking with crew.

Throughout the sailing a member of the Vitamin Sea team was available to chat about Bora Bora and answer questions. Talk of the wind led Kiki, who'd been sailing most of her life, to discover that she shared other passions for the wind with my fiancé Tom - windsurfing and kite surfing. The friendly crew has a mix of knowledge, and a wealth of interesting life experience to share.

Captain Nick invited me to join him at the helm. Sailing Bora Bora took on new meaning as I took control of the vessel and saw a couple of stationary yachts directly ahead. Nick directed me when to turn, and how much to turn, and to my relief we glided right between the two yachts - but began cruising back towards the motu. I had to quickly duck under the boom and rush to the other side of the catamaran to continue steering. Phew, I did it and the feeling was exhilarating! Nick talked me through one more turn where we suddenly headed directly towards Mt Otemanu. Thankfully I didn’t topple Bora Bora’s signature rocks (and be banned from the island) but, under Captain Nick’s instruction, successfully completed two gybes! This was the most exiting part of the outing - probably for the passengers too. The crew enjoy giving guests a turn at sailing Vitamin Sea, so if you want the fun, let Nick know when you board.

The next part of our Vitamin Sea sailing excursion was also unexpected. A couple on our tour asked to visit the coral gardens so we stopped at the famous 'Aquarium'. I had considered bringing our snorkeling gear as it’s my policy on a lagoon excursion in Bora Bora. But I had checked our email confirmation from Vitamin Sea and it said to bring: 1. Sun protection 2. Camera and 3. Good vibes How could I present with good vibes without my own snorkel and flippers!

Learn from my mistake. Always take your snorkeling gear on any lagoon excursion; or ask your tour provider the day before if there could be any snorkeling stops. Although the Vitamin Sea sailing catamaran did have snorkeling equipment for us to use (though no flippers) I suggest you bring your own well-fitting gear. There are no strong currents but with large areas to explore it’s tiring without the propulsion of flippers.

We swam around in the Aquarium with a crew member - who is a marine biologist - leading the way. This coral gardens is aptly named, as it’s always teeming with fish.

After our surprise snorkel, we sailed swiftly to stop in shallow water, a couple hundred meters from a motu beach.

Now the frivolity began. Coconuts were opened, champagne was popped and snacks were served on a floating bar, with the backdrop of Mt Otemanu and Bora Bora Island.

The group cheered in unison as each couple shared the story of what bought them to island paradise: a honeymoon, a college graduation, a 50th birthday, and us - the Bora Bora Island Guide team - searching out the best things to do in Bora Bora. This Vitamin Sea excursion isn’t just for couples, it’s perfect for any celebration – even to have a reminder that life is for enjoying!

After a few bubbly bottles were emptied and we’d enjoyed a frolic in the shallow water while getting to know each other, it was time to head back. The group joked about voting the captain off the ship “survivor” style so we could stay out longer. No one wanted the Bora Bora sailing experience to end. The return trip provided excellent photo opportunities as we sailed smoothly past the Intercontinental Thalasso and Le Meridien over-water bungalows and pretty motus.

On arrival at the St Regis dock (where the Vitamin Sea catamaran is docked) those from other resorts were swiftly scooted away in the Vitamin Sea speed-boat, which is also available for private tours. We all had big grins as we said a genuine thank you and good bye. Sailing Bora Bora lagoon was a joyful treat! Tom, my fiancé exclaimed that it was the best activity we had done!

Vitamin Sea provides some of the most exclusive activities in Bora Bora. There are numerous water tours offered in all types of power boats but few opportunities for sailing Bora Bora’s lagoon. If you want the awesome feeling of sailing Bora Bora with Vitamin Sea, be sure to book well in advance. We tried to book the sunset cruise 3 weeks before our vacation but it was sold out for the entire 2 weeks we were vacationing. Numbers are very limited. Ensure you don’t miss out. It’s easy to check availability and book here. Other exceptional excursions offered by Vitamin Sea – which would be incredible too - are a sunset sail , and a full day private tour with lunch on a motu or at the Yacht Club.

The catamaran is a newly minted beauty and is expertly crewed by super friendly ladies who took utmost care of all passengers during the entire cruise. This half day outing allowed time for a sail near the outer reef for a snorkeling session and topped off with views of the beautiful islands that were topped off with a sandbar stop for “happy hour” beverages served from their floating bar. Overall a fantastic trip that offers a more unique view of the coast and leaves the second half of the day for your other activities . Very highly recommended to be on the water as hiking and such on land activities subjects you to the extreme heat and accompanying humidity- you will be so glad you made this experience part of your time here! We were joined by our friends that we were vacationing with so that made the party 4. It was so very awesome that we got to experience this adventure with those we were close to and not strangers. Clement our Captain & first mate Amy were top notch! They provided snacks and Amy made a fab rum punch Tahiti style. They showed us the lagoon and we got to snorkel in “the aquarium” So many colorful fish! Our captain dove and caught a huge starfish. He was certified and highly trained! Felt safe with them both! My flipper came off and sank but he dove after it, found it and all was well again! We had lunch on a Motu prepared by the locals. It was a delectable lunch of BBQ marlin, chicken, rice, assorted vegetables, fruits, coconut bread, banana pudding and a local fish dish with coconut milk, cucumbers & onions. Everything was yummy. We choose to eat at a table that was partially in the water which was a new experience! The first mate served us a lovely Rose’ to go with our meal. We also had a choice of juices and water. After hanging out in the water and end the sunshine & company, we were taxied out to our catamaran and had a leisurely ride back to our resort. • Rodney1001 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Nice Lagoon Tour but probably a tad short. Were picked up by speedboat & transported to the Catamaran at the dock of the Four Seasons resort. Met Clement (skipper), Amy & Alex (crew) before heading off to the snorkling site at the southern end of Bora Bora. The Catamaran looked in good nick & was very spacious - plenty of room for 8 people. Towels & cushions were provided for sunbaking. Flippers & goggles were also available for use during the snorkling. But bring your own Suncream! We had around 30-40mins swimming in the lagoon which was enough for that area. Lots of fish & coral but no sharks or rays. We did see a number of rays on the way back which was good. Floating bar experience was devine, especially the Rum punch which went down a treat in the sun. Didn't have the sails up for as much as I would have liked due to the wind, however, Clement did his best. Crew were great & made sure we were all taken care of during the day. If I was going back, I think that I would take a whole day tour as you would be able to get in another spot for snorkling. Also, a lot of the morning was spent travelling to & from different locations. Nous sommes aussi présent sur....

Nous avons choisi l’excursion dauphin et baleine et ça restera de loin notre meilleur souvenir de notre séjour à Maurice. Roberto et Thomas ont été géniaux du début à la fin en commençant par un briefing pour nous présenter le déroulement de la journée ainsi qu’une présentation des différents mammifères. Nous avons vu dauphins, baleines à bosses, cachalots et même des globicéphales. Le fait d’être accompagné par un nageur (Thomas) est rassurant. Un grand merci à Vitamin Sea et plus particulièrement à Roberto notre capitaine et Thomas notre accompagnateur nageur, 2 passionnés.

Accueil super professionnel, tout en étant très convivial, excursions sensationnelles, avec des skippers au top (encore merci à Brice et Thomas !), flexibles sur les dates et surtout un rapport qualité prix exceptionnel ! Je recommande à 100% La sécurité est respectée et le respect de l’environnement et des dauphins est de rigueur.

Nous avons passés un superbe moment avec Vitamin Sea. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l’attitude respectueuse de nos hôtes envers les baleines. Nous avons pu voir que ce n’était pas le cas de toutes les embarcations autour de nous. Nous vous encourageons à continuer comme ça. Merci !

C’était génial et je recommande totalement cette agence. Le personnel à bord est bienveillant, offre le petit dej et café, jus etc… Ils prennent le temps de tout nous montrer, les photos sont réussies, nous repartons directement avec.

Exceptionnel ! Départ au lever du soleil, avec nos 2 guides très sympathiques. Les bateaux sont superbes et totalement privatisés pour chaque groupe. Les guides sont rodés et trouvent très rapidement les dauphins (nous avons vu les deux sortes qui sont présents au large de l'île). Voir des dauphins avec le soleil qui se lève c'est juste magique. Ensuite nous avons pu nous mettre à l'eau et les voir de plus prêt. En prime nous avons rencontré 2 tortues énormes et 2 raies. Plus chanceux que ça, c'est difficile 🐬 Nous avons terminé la sortie de 4h dans le lagon pour aller admirer les poissons tropicaux (un vrai aquarium). Les guides nous ont offert le petit dej pour terminer la balade. Je me demandais si Vitamine Sea serait à la hauteur de leur compte Instagram, ils sont bien au dessus 💙

Amazing place, lovelely experience

Expérience hors du commun! Je recommande a 10000% nous avons eu la chance de voir lors de l’expérience nage avec les dauphins une baleine mais aussi des tortues et raie! Stéphane et Morgane sont d’une gentillesse incomparable! Ils savent nous mettre en confiance et en toute sécurité Un moment inoubliable grâce à eux!

Nous avons choisi "Vitamin Sea" grâce à de très bons commentaires...mais toujours avec un peu d appréhension quand cest la 1ere fois et l envie de faire de cette journée une expérience mémorable pour notre Famille. Nous avons été pris en charge depuis le France par la chaleureuse Alexandra, nous avons eu très vite l impression de nous connaitre avant meme de se rencontrer. Quoi de mieux pour être en confiance!! Jour J; levée à 6 mais Wouahhh quel spectacle magnifique la nage avec les dauphins, surtout entourés d une superbe équipe, Hansley et Mathieu. Ils ont fait preuve d un grand professionnalisme, de beaucoup de bienveillance le tout avec humour. Apres toutes ces émotions et le snorkeling; direction ile aux bénitiers pour un déjeuner grillades ; juste succulent ...dans un cadre magique; bravo aux cuisniers : cuisson top. Mille merci encore à vous Alexandra, Hansley et Mathieu de faire de nos rêves une réalité, surtout en cette journée surprise pour les 17 ans de notre fils.:on gardera à jamais ce souvenir. Marie, Christophe, Mateo et Louane conseillons Vitamin Sea les yeux fermés, les mauritiens savent recevoir 😉

Super expérience avec vitamine sea on paye plus cher que ce qu’on peut nous proposer sur l’île mais le service de qualité est là ! Respect de l’environnement et surtout des animaux ! (Nous avons eu la chance de croiser une baleine en allant nager avec les dauphins nous avons pus l’observer quelques minutes puis ils nous ont expliqué qu’il fallait pas la déranger plus car elle était sur le point de mettre bas donc elle avait besoin de ses forces)Je vous recommande vivement ! Merci à Brice et Benoit qui ont étés au top tout le long de notre journée.

Quelle expérience incroyable. Il faut pouvoir le vivre pour le groire! Merci à Roberto et Francky pour leur accueil et leur partage. Petit plus pour le jus et le gâteau qui nous rebooste bien après la nage avec les magnifiques dauphins.

An absolutely amazing experience, we would definitely recommend! We had a private tour with photos and it was one of the highlights of our holiday. We got to swim with dolphins and come within metres of them on several occasions. Visiting the lagoon and snorkelling with the tropical fish was also fantastic. Big shout out to Roberto for capturing some great pictures and videos despite our attempts to follow the dolphins being far from graceful!

Superbe journée, nage avec les dauphins et les poissons de toutes les couleurs c’était sublime. Sans oublier notre repas vue sur le Morne. C’était parfait . Un grand bravo

Ich war zuerst etwas abgeschreckt von den Preisen, die Vitamin Sea verlangt. Wir haben die Delfin+Wal Tour inkl Fotograf gebucht und letztendlich muss ich sagen, dass es jeder Cent wert war. Unser Fotograf/Guide war sehr freundlich und kompetent, genauso wie der Kapitän des Boots. Das Boot war in einem top Zustand und es wurden Bananenbrot und kühle Getränke angeboten. Wir waren immer darauf bedacht, den Tieren die notwendige Distanz zu geben, andere Boote und deren Gäste aus einschlägigen Ländern haben dies leider nicht gemacht und sogar probiert Tiere zu berühren, weswegen diese dann manchmal relativ schnell wieder abgetaucht sind. Dafür kann Vitamin Sea aber nichts, hier sollten die anderen Tourorganisatoren härter durchgreifen.Später bei den Walen hatten wir dann das Glück, dass wir eine Mutter und ihr Baby "für uns" hatten und diese dann ganz entspannt beobachten könnten.Die Fotos und Videos, welche wir am Ende als SD Karte bekommen haben, sind wunderschön und werden daheim direkt ausgedruckt und an die Wand gehängt. Insgesamt war es ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, an welches wir noch viele Jahre zurück denken werden.

Excellente journée avec Vitamin Sea. Je recommande vivement. Belle sortie dauphin et surtout les paysages. Le cadre du morne est vraiment incroyable. Le bateau était bien équipés et le déjeuner le Midi très bien fait. Merci 🤩

We had an amazing whale watching trip with Vitamin Sea Mauritius. We would 100% recommend them. We had a private tour and saw more than 7 whales, 2 baby whales and some dolphins. The guys on the boat were very friendly, funny and helpful. Thank you Stephan and Johan. Their office is right next to the pier, Alexandra from the office is very professional and showed us all the pictures after the boat trip.They (Stephan & Johan & Alexandra) all made us feel very welcome! Swimming next to the whales was a once in a lifetime experience, that I wouldn't want to miss! We also booked someone to take pictures and videos of us and the whales underwater. Highly recommended. We got to fully concentrate on the whales and someone took nice photos of us. On the boat we got to eat banana bread and they offered us drinks (juice, water, etc.)Everything worked perfectly (driver, boat, planning, communication via whatsapp, pickup, swimming, photos, payment), there truly is nothing negative! 10/10 experience!Next time we're visiting Mauritius, we will book trips with Vitamin Sea Mauritius again.

My husband and I went for an aerial and underwater photoshoot. It was such an amazing experience as it was gifted to us as a maternity photoshoot by a friend. We had so much fun and were also able to relax together.

Magnifique journée en bateau ainsi que de nage avec les dauphins et poissons au lever du soleil en compagnie de nos amis. Merci à Vitamin Sea, particulièrement au skipper et à notre guide pour leur accueil chaleureux et pour leur professionnalisme qui nous a permis d’avoir des moments inoubliables notamment le privilège de nager avec un groupe de dauphins. Merci aussi pour l’excellent repas sur l’île aux Bénitiers. La cuisson au BBQ du poulet, du poisson est maitrisée à merveille sans oublier les meilleures bananes flambées au coco que j’ai mangées! Si je reviens, la prochaine fois je vous recontacterai avec plaisir pour une excursion en mer pour voir les baleines 🙂
