To be built in Saudi Arabia, this $5 billion gigayacht concept is so massive that it can dwarf an oligarch’s superyacht – The turtle-shaped Pangeos will house 60,000 people. A floating city in itself it will have beach clubs, villas, and even a mall.

pangeos gigayacht

Can you imagine what a $5 billion terayacht comprises? Thanks to Lazzarini’s giant turtle-shaped floating city, we don’t have to imagine anymore. Breaking norms, boundaries, and budgets all in one go is this unprecedented concept of Pangeos that shatters the glass ceiling and sets high standards of luxury and innovation. The Italian Design Studio has envisioned an entirely new way of living in the lap of luxury inside the giant vessel capable of housing an entire city.

Terayacht Pangeos stretches 1,800 ft. in length and flaunts a beam of 2,000 ft. making for highly roomy interiors. Entry is located aft through a massive portico enabling vessels to enter the floating city.

The steel hull comprises 30,000 individual “cells” that would help keep Pangeos afloat. The tera-turtle can sail around the world nonstop sans emissions on account of a virtually endless supply of green energy. The vessel is covered in solar panels that generate clean power from the sun for the hotel load and propulsion system. Powered by nine electric motors of 16,800 hp each, Pangeos could cruise at a maximum speed of 5 knots. The “wings” could also draw more power from the waves and wind.

Onboard, Pangeos is a mix between a five-star resort, a cruise ship and a city. Lazzarini says she can accommodate as many as 60,000 guests via a combination of villas and apartments. Other highlights include a rooftop mall, sprawling gardens, several pools and a supersized beach club. Naturally, the yacht is fitted with helipads, hangars and marinas to store choppers, toys and tenders.

Pangeos Terayacht Concept

In terms of construction, Lazzarini specified “the terayacht needs a terashipyard.” Essentially, Pangeos is too big to be built at an existing yard and thus would need a custom facility. Saudi Arabia has been put forward as a potential location. The designers estimate the vessel could be delivered in eight years at a cost of $8 billion.

Pangeos The Terayacht: World's Largest Floating City

By Heather Collier

Double the size of the Roman Colosseum, Pierpaolo Lazzarini returns with a new, monumental £6.8 billion terayacht concept. The turtle-shaped vessel known as 'Pangeos' is expected to be 550m long and 610m at its widest point. If achieved, this terayacht would become the largest floating structure ever built.

At its peak, Pangeos would be capable of hosting up to 60,000 guests; a floating city for ultra-high-net-worths.

Guests can unwind by staying in one of the many hotels, exploring its plethora of shopping centres, parks, beach clubs, resorts, as well as ship and aircraft ports, according to Italian design studio Lazzarini.

In recent years, Lazzarini has made a name for itself for conjuring up some of the industry's most daring, out-of-this-world concepts, including vessels that can fly, ginormous on-board garages and futuristic ships that push the boundaries of imagination.

They hope the ambitious scheme dating back to 2009 will soon become a reality following an NFT-related crowdfunding initiative to sell virtual spaces on the watercraft. If achieved, the project is said to take a jaw-dropping eight years to build.

Lazzarini have hinted that the vessel would have its very own shipyard built specifically for its creation, and would be launched out of Saudi Arabia.

" A Terayacht needs a Terashipyard ," the designers said. " The conception of a similar-sized vessel, involves the realisation of a specific shipyard/dam infrastructure that floods to levitate the terayacht when it will be launched."

" The imagined Terashipyard infrastructure is 650 metres wide and 600 metres long, providing direct access to the sea. "

With 30 metres of draft, the ship's enormous hull is made up of nine different bows and subdivided into several blocks. The structure also boasts a giant gate aft that allows vessels to enter this floating metropolis.

It would be powered by nine high-temperature superconductor (HTS) engines, each fully electric motor capable of a mind-blowing 16,800hp and powered by various onboard energy sources.

The design team also claim it would be able to use "wings" to cruise without expending too much energy, making this super-structure highly eco-conscious.

" Pushed from a jet drive transmission, the tera-structure will be able to cruise at a speed of five knots ," Lazzarini said.

" While sailing, the large wings will gain energy from the breaking of the waves and Pangeos will cruise perpetually without emissions around the planet Earth's seas.   Further, the rooftop area is lined with solar panels, which provide part of the necessary clean energy to power the terayacht ."

In terms of accommodation, guests will be able to stay in a wide variety of luxury residences, from apartments and houses to "super villas" and royal palaces.

" The virtual spaces of the watercraft can also be purchased under an NFT collection, and users will be able to collect certain content and access the virtual properties with their credentials ," Lazzarini said.

Similar credentials will also be used as a property deposit in case of real construction.

" The terayacht proposal takes its name from Pangea, the supercontinent that existed millions of years ago during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras ," Lazzarini adds.

Pangeos in Saudi Arabia: Inside the world’s largest floating city

Kohinoor Sahota - Deputy Editor

The $5 billion turtle-shaped megaproject will float around the world with beach clubs, malls and residences.

Just when we thought that Saudi Arabia’s megaprojects couldn’t get more exciting, a ground-breaking new development has been proposed: Pangeos. The turtle-shaped floating city includes beach clubs, malls, rooftop gardens and residences. Best of all, it will be the world’s biggest floating structure.

The Italian design studio Lazzarini is behind the project, which draws inspiration from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras. Pangeos is a $5 billion terayacht structure – that means it’s bigger than a super, mega and a gigayacht. Proposed to be located at King Abdullah Port, 81 miles north of Jeddah, it would require one kilometre of sea space. While it aims to be created near the kingdom, it would eventually sail around the world with no fixed abode.

floating city

If Pangeos is given the green light, it would take approximately eight years to build. Upon completion, it would be able to accommodate 60,000 people. The venue could hold 19 villas and 64 apartments, which are located on the wings of the structure. Plus, a terashipyard infrastructure, which is 650 meters wide and 600 meters long, would provide direct access to the sea and an opening for smaller vessels.

Pangeos will be a sustainable creation, which draws its energy from the solar panel roof and ocean waves. Plus, 30,000 cells are situated in lower spaces and would keep the structure afloat.

While the structure is currently not confirmed, there is a crowdfunding initiative and it will soon be possible to experience it in the metaverse. We’re talking $16 for an entrance ticket and $169 for an apartment – don’t get too excited, as these are the virtual prices.

Lazzarini explained: “The virtual spaces of the watercraft can also be purchased under an NFT collection, and users will be able to collect certain content and access in the virtual properties with their credentials.”

Pangeos is just one of the many creative megaprojects proposed for Saudi Arabia. The kingdom already has cutting-edge megaprojects in the works, from the futuristic city Neom to plans for the world’s tallest building.

Saudi Arabia building $5 billion turtle-shaped gigayacht

Monitoring Desk

RIYADH: An Italian design studio is planning to build a yacht like the world has never seen before in Saudi Arabia, called Pangeos and shaped like a giant turtle. It’s going to have its own villas, beach clubs, a mall, and can fit an astounding 60,000 people.

You’ve heard of the underwater realm of Atlantis, now imagine a city that floats instead. Lazzarini, an Italian design studio, are the mad designers behind this outlandish (pun kind of intended) concept.

The Pangeos dwarfs the yachts of yore and breaks boundaries, equipped with a rooftop garden, mall, beach club, and enough housing units to be inhabited by 60,000 people.

The floating city is an unprecedented feat of engineering, of course assuming the concept ever comes into fruition. If it does, the vessel would make use of a 4,198,000 square foot shipyard located in Saudi Arabia. Pangeos would remain globetrotting the oceans with no set destination.

The concept would stretch 1,800 feet long and even has an opening allowing smaller vessels to enter Pangeos. The construction of the lavish project is estimated to cost approximately $5 billion, if the Pangeos ever comes into material existence, there will surely be some exuberant yachters and terrified fishermen greeting it on the water.

The yacht will stretch 1,800 feet in length and has a beam of 2,000 feet, which will allow the ceilings in the rooms to be much higher than standard.

Terayacht Pangeos is powered by nine HTS fully electric engines that keep the vessel at a constant speed of 5 knots. This innovation will also generate renewable energy from the breaking of the waves on the ship’s wings, and it has a rooftop is lined with solar panels to help power it.

In the lower part of the vessel, the design team also included 30,000 cells, or cluster compartments, and provided an unsinkable floating solution for the basement. The Saudi yacht also comes with a portico located on the stern of the ship, which will allow vessels to enter the city.

double the size of the colosseum, pierpaolo lazzarini’s pangeos terayacht is a floating city

Pierpaolo lazzarini’s newest monumental terayacht.

Proposing a giant floating continent, double the size of the Roman Colosseum, Pierpaolo Lazzarini returns with a new innovative, monumental terayacht concept. The Pangeos watercraft is an itinerant floating city, comprising various hotels, shopping centers, parks, ship and aircraft ports, and all other facilities needed to house up to 60,000 guests in the middle of the sea.

The terayacht proposal takes its name from Pangea, the supercontinent that existed millions of years ago during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. Translating this into a somewhat futuristic expression, Pangeos extends its length for 550 meters (1,800 ft) and measures 610 meters (2,000 ft) at its widest point — the wings. If realized, the turtle-shaped vessel will become the world’s largest structure ever built.

pangeos — the travelling, floating city

With 30 meters of draft, Pierpaolo Lazzarini’s gigantic hull is composed of nine different bows and subdivided into several blocks. This starts from the entrance of the port area to the main square, that extends into a wide terraced villa and subsequently leads to private houses, buildings, and rooftop terraces, with an upper ‘shell’ zone that offers landing of various flying vehicles. In the lower space, the design team houses 30,000 cells or cluster compartments and provides an unsinkable floating solution for the basement, which is conceived to be realized mainly in steel. Pangeos also integrates an imagined Terashipyard infrastructure that is 650 meters wide and 600 meters long, providing direct access to the sea.

Pangeos is equipped with 9 HTS engines. Each full electric motor is capable of 16,800 hp and is powered by various in-board energy sources. Pushed from a jet drive transmission, the tera-structure will be able to cruise at a speed of 5 knots. While sailing, the large wings will gain energy from the braking of the waves and Pangeos will cruise perpetually without emissions around the planet Earth seas. Further, the rooftop area is lined with solar panels which provide part of the necessary clean energy to power the terayacht.

realizing the world’s largest structure

While Pangeos is currently an unrealized concept, Pierpaolo Lazzarini hopes it will soon become something more than just a computer animation. To construct the terayacht — the biggest structure ever built on the planet — an estimated $8 Billion will be needed, with a timeline of approximately eight years. The designer has launched a crowdfunding initiative on the page of the Terayacht .

The virtual spaces of the watercraft can also be purchased under an NFT collection, and users will be able to collect certain content and access in the virtual properties with their credentials. The same credentials will also work as a property deposit in case of a real construction.

An Italian architect has created ambition plans for a Turtle-shaped terayacht that would cost

£6.8 billion (A$11.93 billion) to create.

Dubbed Pangeos, the terayacht gets its name from the supercontinent Pangea which dates back to the late Palaeozoic and early Mesozoic eras roughly 335 to 200 million years ago.

Helmed by the Italian design studio Lazzarini, the creation would be twice the size of the Roman Colosseum and have capacity to accommodate up to 60,000 people.

On board, guests would have access to private villas and apartments, as well as several hotels, parks, beach clubs, resorts and shopping centres. There would also be built-in access to ship and aircraft ports too.

Biggest floating structure ever built

The structure itself would be 550m by 610m and would become the world biggest floating structure ever built.

Construction for the vessel would require its own custom-made shipyard, which would be located in Saudi Arabia. The actual build, however, would be expected to take around eight years.

The head of Lazzarini, Pierpaolo Lazzarini, said the structure has also been imagined with sustainability and green energy in mind.

“Pushed from a jet drive transmission, the tera-structure will be able to cruise at a speed of five knots (equivalent of 9.26km per hour),” Mr Lazzarini said.

“While sailing, the large wings will gain energy from the breaking of the waves and Pangeos will cruise perpetually without emissions around the planet Earth’s seas. Further, the rooftop area is lined with solar panels, which provide part of the necessary clean energy to power the terayacht.”

Floating city Saudi Arabia: World’s largest turtle-shaped Pangeos Terayacht

Photo of Aliya Siddique

Saudi Arabia has been building a massive $8 billion turtle-shaped terayacht that would become the world’s biggest water and largest floating structure once it’s completed.

The supercontinent Pangea inspired the name of the ship, known as Pangeos, which has room for up to 60,000 passengers. The Lazzarini design firm is renowned for its forward-thinking ideas for high-end mobility. It presented the Air Yacht, a helium-powered floating superyacht design, previously in the year.

Pangeos’ interior details have not even been made public, but Lazzarini anticipates that construction will begin around 2033 and last for eight years, costing about $8 billion.

Floating City Saudi Arabia

The “flying metropolis of the future” is separated into sections, which include restaurants, shopping complexes, roof-mounted- mounted gardens, resorts, and even airports, according to the architecture firm. It looks like a floating city in Saudi Arabia.

Nine HTS electrical turbines, each with a capacity of 16,800 horsepower, will be installed in the terayacht, allowing it to cruise at a speed of five knots while housing 19 luxury residences and 64 flats on each of the turtle wings. Lazzarini suggested KSA, as the place for the terayacht in its description of Pangeos.

There are many strange happenings in the world, both natural and man-made, like flying hotels. And right now, a huge floating city might actually come to pass! If it is built, the world’s giant turtle-shaped ship will be a new terayacht that has been unveiled.

The launch of a terayacht, a ship larger than super, mega, and Giga yacht could draw a lot of attention at a time when global travel is resuming after a pandemic-induced lull. The luxury vessel Pangeos’ design has recently been unveiled by designers Lazzarini, and if all goes according to plan, it will be the largest boat in the world as well as the most impressive boat in the entire globe.

Floating City Saudi Arabia

What Is the Process?

Over 30,000 cells installed beneath the living area would keep the yacht afloat. Its cruise speed would be five knots.

It goes without saying that solar panels would be installed on a sizable portion of the hull and beam to supply power. Despite the fact that this is only a prototype, Lazzarini and Saudi Arabia are treating it seriously.

In fact, they’ve started a crowdsourcing effort where anyone can pay $16 for a virtual ticket or an NFT that grants entry to their own virtual condo in the boat. It is the largest floating structure ever built on the earth.

Floating City Saudi Arabia

The Giant Ship’s Dimensions

Once completed, according to The Arabian Business, it would be the biggest floating superstructure ever constructed. It is currently being developed. The opulent undertaking was developed by the Italian design group Lazzarini.

The giant ship would just be 1,800 feet long. Its widest point would be the 610-meter wings of Pangeos (2,000 feet), according to Lazzarini.

On every one of the floating vessel’s wings, there will be 64 flats and 19 villas. In addition to these features, Pangeos will also have a supermarket and a beach resort.

It will be powered by virtually infinite renewable energy sources. The engine is probably powered by solar panels on the roof and ocean waves.

The maximum speed for the enormous turtle-shaped boat is predicted to be 5 knots (5.7 mph/9.2 kph). The distinctive structure will also feature an infrastructure called a “Terashipyard” that is 650 meters wide and 600 meters long and provides it with a simple connection to the sea. A turtle-shaped floating city could become an attraction around the world.

Suitable site

Naturally, the architects would also require a unique location in order to construct such a large tower. KSA has been suggested by the architects as the site for construction. Before construction can start, a square kilometer of the sea will need to be excavated, and a circular dam will need to be built. The King Abdullah Port has been chosen by the terayatch’s creators as the appropriate location.

The feedback was provided by different viewers after watching the video that Lazzarini put on their YouTube account. They rated terayatch in the following order:

The remark stated, “Projects like these are impossible for me to even wrap my head around the amount of time labor, materials, and money something like this requires.”

Floating City Saudi Arabia

“Doable concept and not necessarily significant forward-facing resistance if the entire light materials construction is created to float atop multihulls parallel to each other and cutting through the navigation direction,” another user noted. a loose association of catamarans of some sort.

The supercontinent Pangea, which is thought to have existed around 355 million years ago, is the source of the word Pangeos. The massive vessel is anticipated to include space for malls, ports for smaller ships, and aircraft to transport passengers. To make your stay here as comfortable as possible, the super-comfortable edifice is also reported to be outfitted with hotels and parks. According to official media, the terayacht’s size and design will enable 60,000 people to dwell on the water.

Furthermore, the boat is currently simply a concept or an idea. It needs room to be built, and locations in Saudi Arabia near Jeddah have been suggested as the appropriate spot to do so. Not only that, but the construction of the floating city will also cost about USD 8 billion (about Rs 65,280 crores).

After reading the concept, it appears to be a huge floating being constructed for Saudi Arabia by an Italian designer. It might be the best on the entire planet. I give the Italian architect my highest praise for having the vision to plan such a significant project.

pangeos gigayacht

Double the size of the Colosseum, Pierpaolo Lazzarini’s Pangeos terayacht is a floating city.
