LANA Yacht – Stunning $250 Million Superyacht

LANA yacht is a 107-meter (351.1 ft) yacht built by Italian shipyard Benetti in 2021. She is available for charter for $1.8 million per week and is owned by an unknown millionaire.

LANA is currently the 45th largest yacht in the world at a total length of 107 meters (351.1 ft).

The LANA yacht was entirely built and designed by Benetti, which includes her beautiful interior.

Twelve guests can stay aboard the luxury yacht in six spacious cabins, including a stunning master suite. Thirty-three crew members are accommodated in sixteen cabins below the deck.

The yacht includes a hammam, a spa with an onboard massage therapist, a large cinema, and a state-of-the-art entertainment system that allows guests to listen to music on all parts of the vessel.

The interior of LANA is beautifully decorated with opulent furnishings. Creme tones and wood accents create a tasteful and timeless design and the feeling of true luxury.

The spa area and hammam of the yacht are decorated with beautiful and intricate mosaics that set the interior of this yacht apart.

Specifications

The LANA yacht is an elegant 107-meter (351.1 ft) long yacht with a 14.4-meter (47.3 ft) beam and a 4.3-meter (14.1 ft) draft.

She weighs 3891 tons and is powered by Rolls Royce Diesel and electric engines.

Her maximum speed lies at 18 knots, although she most comfortably cruises at 16 knots which put her range at 4,000 nautical miles on average. 

The LANA yacht is a beautiful all-white yacht designed by the Italian shipyard and designer Benetti.

She has a helipad, a generous heated outdoor swimming pool with a comfortable seating area, and a beach club with folding terraces located aft of the vessel.

Her many decks invite guests to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean or dine al fresco. Since LANA is available for charter, she carries a wide variety of water toys on board.

This includes jet skis, sea bobs, wakeboards, water skis, windsurfing equipment, scuba diving gear, inflatables, fishing equipment, and even biodegradable golf balls.

The list goes on, and a charter trip with LANA will never be boring.

The LANA yacht cost her anonymous owner an estimated US $200 million, although the exact sales price is not known.

She generates annual running costs of US $10 to 20 million and is available for charter through Imperial Yachts for US $1.8 million per week.

The 107-meter Lana has been delivered

The 107-meter giga-yacht Lana has now been handed over to her owner by the builders, Benetti.

She is one of the largest yachts ever built by the Italian shipyard and will now join the Imperial charter fleet.

The final touches to the luxurious and impressive creation took place over the winter and included new features specified by the client who wanted two state-of-the-art Kongsberg wing stations.

The yard also points out that her complex equipment had to undergo an ‘extraordinary and rigorous’ amount of commissioning and testing before final delivery.

Designed in-house by Benetti's team

M/Y Lana was designed in-house by Benetti's team with the naval platform being produced by PierLuigi Ausonio Naval Architecture (PLANA).

She is powered by two diesel-electric engines with a combined power output of 2,800 kW each to help Lana achieve a top speed of 18.5 knots.

With a cruising speed of 12 knots, the giga-yacht is capable of covering more than 5,500 nautical miles without needing to refuel. She has a crew of 34 to meet the needs of guests.

The yacht's owner said: "I am absolutely satisfied with the work done by Benetti and Imperial together.  

"Lana represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every single detail was executed to perfection. I am glad we all made this way to prove a new level of Italian shipbuilding industry.”

12 guests can be accommodated

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated in eight suites on board, seven of these are VIP cabins and are found along the main deck.

The master suite will take up the prime position on the bridge deck.

Here, the owner will enjoy a fixed balcony on either side of the full beam cabin with a private view of the surroundings.

There is also a large swimming pool on the sundeck with a wellness center featuring a gym and massage room.

Benetti delivers 107m M/Y 'LANA'

'lana' is one of three benetti giga-yacht constructions….

Following her official delivery last week, Benetti is now boarding M/Y ‘LANA’s final buyer’s supplies for her departure. LANA is one of three Benetti giga-yacht constructions – a program which is the result of significant investment that the shipyard has made over time both in terms of technical resources and investments,  upgrading infrastructure and the construction processes.

LANA was kept at the yard during the winter season following the client’s desire to add, among others features, two Kongsberg wing stations, which are state of the art in terms of complexity and innovation, according to the yard. 

“I am absolutely satisfied with the work done by Benetti and Imperial together. LANA represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every single detail was executed to perfection. I am glad we all made her this way to prove a new level of the Italian shipbuilding industry,” commented the vessels owner. 

LANA was designed entirely by Benetti’s in-house teams, and the naval architecture is by Pier Luigi Ausonio Naval Architecture (P.L.A.N.A). She is powered by twin diesel-electric engines of 2,800 kW each, has a top speed of 18.5 knots, and a range of 5,500 nm at 12 knots. She can accommodate up to 12 guests across eight cabins, including 7 VIP rooms on the main deck, and is tended by 34 crewmembers.

The testing and commissioning of LANA’s complex equipment was carried out in Livorno by Benetti technicians under the remote supervision and direction of the equipment’s manufacturers, respectively based in England, Norway and Sweden. In the current difficult circumstances, a remote approach had to be adopted, even on technical aspects of the vessel, but this proved to be a true test of a new way of working.

According to data provided by The Superyacht Agency , Benetti continues to predominantly build vessels between the 45m - 55m mark but has seen an increasing average LOA year on year since 2017. The giga-yacht market is certainly one that is less saturated than the 50m market, and is clearly one that Benetti is keen to continue to explore. 

LANA , one of three 100m+ Benetti giga-yachts, has been described as “a testament to Benetti’s commitment to championing a new era of large yacht building in Italy” by a representative from the yard, who continued to state that she is the resounding success of the yard’s very first ‘giga-season’.

“We are proud to have delivered another giga-yacht in our giga-season,” commented Paolo Vitelli, President - Benetti. “ LANA is an example of excellence: outstanding quality, unique style, and an icon of Made in Italy. A particular thanks to the owner who trusted Benetti for this creation. We are happy to have met all his expectations,” Vitelli concluded.

Inside the Secretive Interior of the 351-Foot ‘Lana,’ One of Benetti’s Largest Superyachts

Superyacht owners are often guarded about the interiors of their vessels, just as most of us would be with the interior of our homes. This week, the owner of Lana —one of the largest yachts ever built by the Benetti yard in Italy—allowed images of the 351-footer to go public, courtesy of Imperial Yachts , which was the owner’s representative on the build and now is overseeing the yacht’s charter.

Lana has no shortage of exquisite features, from the hand-sculpted onyx dining table to a winter garden that overlooks the sea. There’s also a large swimming pool, cinema room, a full gym and multiple social spaces, indoors and out.

The vessel’s interior is vast but tasteful. The beach club, in its way, represents the overall elegance of the yacht, with a large salon on the interior that connects to large fold-out terraces on either side, and lounges in the hallway between treatment rooms. A hammam , or Turkish bath, with ornate walls and large marble table, expands the beach club’s spa experience.

The ensemble of spacious cabins, comprised of the owner’s suite on the wheelhouse deck and seven VIP staterooms on the main deck, add to the sense of luxury across the yacht. The full-beam master cabin has windows and a terrace on both sides, with pieces of modern art, Art Deco-style light fixtures and stylized wood paneling. The 8’9”-high ceilings add to the suite’s sense of space.

The main deck is defined by dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the superstructure, allowing plenty of natural light, while the 50-foot beam fosters the sense of open space. Social areas were critical to the design of this yacht and include everything from the terraces by the pool to a salon up near the wheelhouse, complete with a baby grand piano.

Lana ’s beautiful interior can be experienced as a charter yacht in the Mediterranean, and next winter, in the Indian Ocean. “Lana has an incredible appeal that will make her, for sure, the next decade superyacht charter yacht to experience in her range,” Julia Stewart, Imperial director, said in a statement. “She is bold, unique, sleek and aggressive, mixing perfect experience at sea with unforgettable charter moments.”

First Look Video: On Board the 107 Metre Benetti Superyacht Lana

A first-look video on board the 107 metre Benetti superyacht Lana has been revealed for the first time. 

The video, released by Imperial , shows the yacht on charter and tours on board areas including the beach club, sundeck and master cabin. 

The yacht, one of the largest ever built by Benetti, was officially delivered to its owner on June 18.

Speaking about the yacht, the owner previously said: "I am absolutely satisfied by the work done by Benetti and Imperial together.  Lana  represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every singly detail was executed to perfection.”

Previously known as  FB 277 , Lana is one of the largest yachts built by Benetti.

The yacht is now available for charter exclusively through  Imperial , which also acted as owner's representative and build supervisor.

Imperial director Julia Stewart said: “ Lana  has an incredible appeal that will make her, for sure, the next decade superyacht charter yacht to experience in her range once in a lifetime".

Constructed from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure,  Lana  has a maximum beam of 15.2 metres.

Described as sporting "an elongated and linear profile", the yacht balances a "contemporary and minimal design" with "a tasteful interior decoration" furnished with bright furniture and wide windows.

Naval architecture has been provided by Benetti and Pierluigi Ausonio while her exterior and interior design has been completed in-house by Benetti's design teams. Key features include a beach club with Hammam and pool on the sun deck.

Lana  is powered by a diesel electric propulsion system for a top speed of 18.5 knots. She will have a cruising speed of 16 knots.

Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests in eight cabins, including seven VIPs on the main deck. The crew quarters comprises 18 cabins for a maximum staff of 32.

The new outpost is a tribute to the connection that Yves Saint Laurent and partner Pierre Bergé had to the Rue Babylone, according to Women’s Wear Daily . (In 1970, the pair moved to a 6,500-square-foot duplex on the street.) It is also inspired by the house’s original ready-to-wear boutique, Saint Laurent Rive Guache, which opened in the 6th arrondissement in 1966.

With a minimalist, art gallery-like aesthetic, the space is anchored by a hefty marble bench and large black shelves. The raw, textured concrete on the walls is juxtaposed by a soft blue and white rug, a wooden Pierre Jeanneret desk, and sleek Donald Judd stools.

The wares within Saint Laurent Babylone are the most important part, of course. Curated by Saint Laurent’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the collection includes everything from photos by British artist Rose Finn-Kelcey to books published by Saint Laurent itself. Some tomes on offer are so rare that white gloves are required for handling.

The store also offers an enviable selection of records that are no longer being pressed. Highlights include Sade’s Promise , Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love , and the debut studio album of electronic band Kraftwerk.

Other notable items on the shelves include Leica cameras, chocolates made in collaboration with pastry chef François Daubinet, prints by Juergen Teller, and brass skull sculptures. You’ll also find an assortment of YSL merch, including pens, lighters, and cups.

To top it off, Saint Laurent Babylone will double as an event space, hosting live music sessions, DJ sets, book readings, and author signings over the coming months.

Saint Laurent’s latest endeavor isn’t exactly surprising. With Vaccarello at the helm, the Kering-owned fashion house has entered new cultural realms. Only last year, the label established a film production company and debuted its first movie at Cannes.

Perhaps Saint Laurent film reels and movie posters will soon be available at Babylone, too.

The Best Watches at the Grammys, From Maluma’s Jacob & Co. to Jon Batiste’s Vacheron Constantin

Music’s biggest names sported some outstanding watches on Sunday evening.

Weird yet wonderful watches punctuated this year’s Grammys.

The woman of the moment, Taylor Swift, who made history by winning Album of the Year for an unprecedented fourth time, wore an unconventional Lorraine Schwartz choker watch to the annual awards ceremony on Sunday night. That was just the tip of the horological iceberg, though.

Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma elevated a classic Dolce & Gabbana suit with a dazzling Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon and a pair of custom, diamond-encrusted Bose earbuds, while American musician Jon Batiste topped off a stylish Versace ensemble with a sleek Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon. Not to be outdone, rapper Busta Rhymes busted out a rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak for the occasion.

There was more understated wrist candy on display, too, such as Jack Antonoff’s Cartier Tank LC and Noah Kahan’s Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo.

Maluma: Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon

Maluma busted out some truly spectacular bling for this year’s Grammys. The Colombian singer-songwriter paired a classic Dolce & Gabbana suit with a dazzling Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon and a pair of custom, diamond-encrusted Bose earbuds. The sculptural wrist candy sees a four-arm movement floating in front of a breathtaking dial adorned with no less than 257 rubies. For added pizzaz, the lugs of the 18-karat rose-gold case are invisibly set with 80 baguette-cut white diamonds. Limited to just nine examples, the rarity is priced at $1.5 million.

Asake: Hublot Big Bang Essential Grey

Nigerian singer-songwriter Asake may not have won the Grammy for Best African Music Performance for “Amapiano,” but did wear a winning Hublot Big Bang at Sunday’s proceedings. Released in 2023, the Essential Grey model is made purely of titanium for a sleek, uniform feel. The 42 mm timepiece was limited to just 100 pieces and cost $37,000 a pop.

John Legend: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding

Multihyphenate John Legend wore a legendary Audemars Piguet with silky Saint Laurent on Sunday evening. The self-winding Royal Oak in question features a 34 mm black ceramic case, a black grande tapisserie dial, and striking pink gold accents. The watchmaker’s signature is also displayed in gold under the sapphire crystal. The piece will set you back $81,000.

Jon Batiste: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon

American musician Jon Batiste received four nominations but no wins at this year’s Grammys. The “Butterfly” singer can take solace in the fact that he looked ultra-sharp in Versace and Vacheron Constantin. A tribute to the spirit of travel, the Overseas Tourbillon features a 42.5 mm white-gold case, a bezel set with 60 baguette-cut diamonds, and a blue dial featuring a dazzling tourbillon cage inspired by the Maltese cross. Price upon request, naturally.

Fireboy DML: Cartier Santos

Fireboy DML’s outfit was straight fire on Sunday night. The Nigerian singer paired an MCM wool jacket with a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet, several iced-out rings, and a sleek Cartier Santos. The timepiece features a steel case, a graduated blue dial with steel sword-shaped hands, and a seven-sided crown with synthetic faceted blue spinel.

Noah Kahan: Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo

Best New Artist nominee Noah Kahan wore one of Panerai’s best new watches to Sunday’s festivities. The Luminor Quaranta BiTempo features a 40 mm polished steel case and a black dial with luminous numerals and hour markers, a date display at 3 o’clock, and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. The timepiece can be yours for $14,000.

Busta Rhymes: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

Legendary rapper Busta Rhymes busted out a chic Audemars Piguet for this year’s Grammys. The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph in question is distinguished by a 42 mm rose-gold case and a matching pink méga tapisserie dial with an outer flange for the tachymeter scale. The face is fitted with three black subdials, large black numerals, and a black date display at 3 o’clock. You can expect to pay around $61,200 for the chronograph on the secondary market.

Jack Antonoff: Cartier Tank Louis Cartier

Producer of the year Jack Antonoff took to the red carpet with a stylish Cartier on his wrist. The Tank Louis Cartier in question appears to be a large 33.7 mm example that features an 18-carat rose-gold case, a silvered dial with black Roman numerals and blued steel hands, a beaded crown set with a sapphire cabochon, and a brown alligator strap. It’ll set you back $19,900.

We knew the Mayla GT would be one of the most exciting boats at Boot Düsseldorf, but a deep dive into the specs shows it could be downright revolutionary.

The brainchild of German start-up Mayla, the 44-footer brings you the blistering performance of a speedboat and the luxe amenities of a motor yacht in one neat carbon-fiber package.

Inspired by the go-fast boats of the 1970s and ‘80s, the GT sports an angular, retro-futuristic body and the sleek lines of a rocket ship. Tipping the scales at just 4500 kilograms, the lightweight design features a deep-V hull with twin transversal steps and patented Petestep deflectors that help it slice through the waves with ease. In fact, Mayla says the deflectors decrease energy usage by up to 35 percent while ensuring a more efficient planing.

The GT is also capable of soaring at breakneck speeds, with the option of a gas, diesel, electric, or hybrid powertrain. The range-topping GTR-R model packs dual gas-powered engines that can churn out 3,100 hp for a top speed of more than 100 knots (185 kph). At the other, more sustainable end of the spectrum, the E-GT is fitted with an electric powertrain that can produce 2,200 horses for a max speed of 50 knots. The hybrid E-GTR pairs that same electric powertrain with a 294 kilowatt diesel engine for a top speed of 60 knots (111 km/h/69 mph). (The GT in the water at Boot sported two entry-level V8s good for 650 hp and a top speed of over 70 knots.)

The GT is suitable for more than just high-speed jaunts, of course. The multipurpose cockpit, which can accommodate up to eight passengers, features a sundeck with sliding loungers, a wet bar and BBQ, and a foldaway dining table for alfresco entertaining. Further toward the stern, a beach club sits atop a garage with an electric transom door.

The GT is even fit for overnight stays. Below deck lies a cabin with a double bed, sofa, wardrobe, vanity, and en suite. You can also expect a high-tech entertainment system with TVs and premium audio.

As for price, the GT with the entry-level powertrain will cost between $2.7 million and $2.9, depending on the final configuration. (You can fine-tune the layout, hull color, and interiors, naturally.) Interested buyers can set up a sea trial with Mayla, with test-drives set to begin this spring in Europe.

First Nations artist Shaun Daniel Allen joins forces with Chopard to create a timepiece inspired by the Australian landscape.

Shaun Daniel Allen does not look like your typical collaborator on a prestige watch. For one, Shal, as he prefers to be known (“There are many Shauns but only one Shal,” he explains), is more heavily tattooed than your average roadie. His youthful appearance, bad-boy ink and all, belies his 38 years and leads to a disconnect.  

He recounts being recognised on the street recently by a journalist, who, unable to remember his name, shouted out, “Chopard!” “I was with a friend,” Shal says, holding court in his apartment in Sydney’s inner city, “and he’s, like, ‘What the hell? Does that happen to you often?’”

Perhaps because of his body art, he reasons, “People don’t put me and Chopard together.” It’s not hard to understand the confusion, Shal adds; even he was taken aback when Chopard reached out to him about a potential collaboration a little more than a year ago. “When I first went in to see them, I was, like, I don’t know if I’m your guy. I’m not used to being in those rooms and having those conversations.”

He’ll have to adapt quickly to his new reality. Last month Chopard released Shal’s interpretation of the Swiss brand’s storied Alpine Eagle model, which in itself was a redo of the St. Moritz, the first watch creation by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele (now Co-President of Chopard) in the late 1970s.  

Previewed at Sydney’s About Time watch fair in September, to not insignificant interest, and officially known as the Alpine Eagle Sunburnt, the exclusive timepiece—issued in a limited edition of 20—arrives as a stainless steel 41 mm with a 60-hour power reserve and a burnt red dial that brings to mind the searing Outback sun. Its see-through caseback features one of Shal’s artworks painted on sapphire glass.

When the reputable Swiss luxury brand approached Shal, they already had the red dial—a nod to the rich ochre hues of the Australian soil at different times of the day and gradated so that the shades become darker around the edges—locked in as a lure for Australian customers.

Shal was charged with designing an artful caseback and collectible hand-painted sustainable wooden case. After presenting a handful of paintings, each with his signature abstract motifs that pertain to indigenous emblems, tattoos and music, both parties landed on a serpentine image that evoked the coursing of rivers. “I have been painting a lot of water in this last body of work and the image we chose refers to the rivers at home,” he says, alluding to formative years spent at his grandfather’s, just outside of Casino.

It says a lot about Chopard, Shal points out, that they wanted to donate to a charity of his choosing. “Like everything else on this project,” he explains, “they were open to listening and taking new ideas on board and it actually felt like a collaboration, like they weren’t steering me into any corner.”

In another nice touch, a portion of the proceeds from sales of the watch will go to funding programs of the Ngunya Jarjum Aboriginal Corporation—an organisation, established in 1995 by Bundjalung elders, whose work Shal saw firsthand after the 2022 eastern Australia flood disasters ravaged their area. “Seeing Ngunya Jarjum suffer from the floods,” he says, “and knowing how much they do for the community on Bundjalung Country was heartbreaking. I want to see Bundjalung families thriving and supported.”

So what’s it been like for this booster of Australian waterways to be swimming in the luxury end of the pool? “I’ve done a few things with brands,” he offers, referring to the Louis Vuitton project earlier this year at an art gallery in Brisbane, “but nothing on this scale. It’s definitely fancier than I’m used to but I’m not complaining.” Neither are watch aficionados.

Benetti charter yacht LANA honoured at World Yacht Trophies in joint win

The 107m/ 351ft motor yacht LANA has been honoured with the coveted 'Yacht of the Year' title at the World Yacht Trophies in Cannes . She shares the accolade with 109m Oceanco superyacht 'Bravo Eugenia' .

Benetti's charter yacht LANA has stormed to victory in the 'Yacht of the Year' category for vessels measuring over 82m at the World Yacht Trophies.

The event took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Saturday 14 September, and was timed to coincide with the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019. 

Both LANA and 'Bravo Eugenia' won the 'Yacht of the Year' title, in a joint win that reflects the high quality and stiff competition between the yachts at the show. 

Yet to be delivered, LANA was formerly known as FB 277. She features exterior and interior by Benetti's in-house team, and she is expected to be hosting her first luxury yacht charters later this year.

The motor yacht has been kept largely under wraps since she first hit the water in December last year.  She features an elongated and elegant profile, characterized by sleek lines, wide windows and a plumb bow for improved seakeeping.

Both LANA and 'Bravo Eugenia' won the 'Yacht of the Year' title, in a joint win that reflects the high quality of all the yachts at the show.

Key on-board features include an oversized sundeck pool and touch n go helipad, as well as a beach club with twin fold-out sections on both sides of the beam to promote a harmony between the sea and the interior.

She features accommodation for 12 guests in eight cabins, which includes seven equally lavish VIP suites and a sumptuous owners' deck with balconies, dressing rooms and an interconnecting bathroom.

Hailed as Benetti’s first “gigayacht”, the 107m  Lana  is an exquisite custom-built motor yacht launched in 2019 and one of the largest yachts available. Over five decks,  Lana  boasts every conceivable lifestyle attribute that her 12 charter guests could dream of. For utter relaxation and well-being,  Lana has a large spa with hammam, gym, and mosaic-tiled massage room forward adjacent to the beach club and an inviting pool on the sundeck that can be enjoyed cool or warm.  The seven guest staterooms are located on the main deck. On the wheelhouse deck is the full-beam owner’s suite with two balconies, original modern art, Art Deco-style light fixtures, and finely-crafted timber paneling. Each VIP guest cabin is decorated in an individual color scheme making each room unique. Her 34 professional charter crew occupy cabins on the lower deck, with the remaining cabins a further level down.

For entertainment, the owner and guests can watch movies in the upper saloon or on the wheelhouse deck, which also has an elegant baby grand piano.  Lana  has no shortage of exquisite features, from the hand-sculpted onyx dining table to a winter garden that overlooks the sea. There’s also a large swimming pool, cinema room, a full gym, and multiple social spaces, indoors and out. Inside, this magnificent luxury charter yacht is a symphony in lavish yet tasteful contemporary interior design. The main deck is defined by dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows that allow in plenty of natural light and the use of tactile materials such as leather, timber, and stainless steel, as well as masterful use of lighting in sculptural forms.

Lana’s  main salon is an intimate environment, comprising three large sofas around a coffee table for conversation and a widescreen TV for the latest films or sports. The onboard cinema is cozy and inviting, with oversized armchairs, a plush sofa, and a massive screen coupled with surround sound systems and blackout curtains for the ultimate private cinema experience. For water toys and tenders,  Lana  is laden with the latest and greatest for hours of on-water fun for charter guests of all ages. There are jet skis, Seabobs, windsurfs, wakeboards, scuba diving equipment, fishing gear, and golf set-up, including biodegradable balls guests can aim at the floating green.
