Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap: Colin the Hero

Below deck sailing yacht.

below deck sailing yacht episode 2

Another episode without Gary is a bummer, but I’m pleasantly surprised that the crew has been on good behavior despite the mountain of issues already coming its way (sloppy guests, the engine, and no first officer). Even Mads, who seems to be here more for the partying than work, is completing her tasks to stay on Daisy’s good side.

We pick up where last week’s episode left off: with Captain Glenn and Colin figuring out how to get out of their broken engine situation. Since the season isn’t going to be short-lived, they end up taking it into their own hands and try to fix it themselves. Captain Glenn informs the guests that the boat won’t be leaving the dock again, adding that they’ll still be able to spend the day at a nearby beach. It’s not like they have abundant options!

As the crew prepares for the beach excursion, a montage captures a stressed-out Captain Glenn making phone calls as he tries to find a supplier for the parts needed to get the boat patched up. I feel for him; all he wants to do is sail and give guests a good experience! As if he doesn’t already have enough on his plate, the guests invite him to join them for dinner, which he accepts graciously.

As they get ready to leave in the tender, the guests request ice for their cocktails, but Alex isn’t able to find it amongst the several coolers required to keep the drinks flowing. This escalates into a big situation, with Captain Glenn radioing Daisy, who is complaining about work to Colin in the crew mess, to bring more ice. She frustratingly runs out on the deck and informs him that it’s in the boat, which sets him off and causes him to yell at her. Daisy was ultimately right, though, because the ice was in a cooler sitting in the tender all along.

Chase and Lucy are tasked with going to the beach, where Chase keeps encouraging her as they set up the chairs and water toys. “Chase is not annoying; he’s just so positive,” Lucy says in a confessional. She adds, “We’re just so opposite. Moaning gets me through life.” Everyone adores Chase and his “Southern charm,” including the guests, who are impressed that he’s doing several tasks simultaneously. Chase seems to try a bit too hard to be liked at times, but he was really working his ass off in this episode. The guy needs some sleep! Back on the boat, Lucy, staying true to her clumsy personality, drops a tray of glassware in the kitchen and cries. “I feel like this boat is ruining me,” she says. Honey, it’s only going to get worse from here.

Immediately after the plastered guests return to the  Parsifal , they ask for espresso martinis for what seems like the tenth time that day. Sitting at the hot tub, the guest named Karen voices what we’ve all been thinking, “It’s one thing to not be able to sail without wind, but you don’t check your engines before somebody comes on? That’s on you.” Agreed, but at least it’s keeping us occupied.

Later, a miracle finally happens in the engine room. Using his impressive experience of having previously fixed damaged boats, Colin gets the water out of the engine, so the boat is now up and running to an extent. “I don’t know many engineers that would take this on, but it kind of excites me in a way,” he shares. Everyone is “stoked,” and I am too. We are in desperate need of some action. “Colin’s always been a legend, but he’s just gone up three notches in my eyes,” Captain Glenn says, speaking for all of us. What would we do without him???

Given that the boat’s lack of sailing makes for an uneventful trip, this episode really leans into laying out a web of possible boatmances. “Historically, my dating profile would be brunettes with nice teeth,” Alex tells us, essentially describing himself. Instead, he has to make do with what he’s got, which is three blondes. Meanwhile, Mads places importance on personality but doesn’t mind as long as the crew knows how to “screw.” She has the yachtie mentality down to a T. Foreshadowing what occurs the next day, we see Daisy and Alex flirting in the crew mess as he helps clean wine glasses. “I really do enjoy looking at him,” Daisy admits. Girl, same.

On turndown duty, Lucy is immediately horrified by the state of the bedrooms, which somehow look worse than they did in the morning. I, too, am disgusted. The carpet and bed sheets are stained with blood, and clothes are scattered everywhere. “I’m not your fucking maid,” she says in a confessional before realizing that her job is to clean up after nasty people.

Remember what I said about chef Ileisha’s bad time management possibly haunting her in the kitchen? Well, as Scheana Shay’s Penny Lane tattoo says,  it’s all happening . While prepping for dinner, she seems overwhelmingly stressed, which she says stems from her perfectionist tendencies. Though everyone enjoys the food, the hammered and exhausted guests grow annoyed by the long wait between courses, which is caused by Ileisha’s overthinking and indecisiveness. Seriously, she takes ages to figure out how to cut and plate a piece of steak. Also, if I recall correctly, the guests had requested that this meal have truffles on everything. Yet, only one dish features it. Fortunately for Ileisha, the guests are so out of it that they probably can’t remember what’s on their preference sheet.

Departure day finally arrives the following morning. Before they go on their merry way, the primary and Karen — who somewhat lives up to her name’s stereotype — pull Captain Glenn aside for a chat. They inform him that they had a horrible trip and call out the interior for being a “hot mess” because they didn’t provide toilet paper and towels. Look, I get it; you didn’t end up getting what you paid a discounted price for. But I really do think Daisy and the stews were trying their best, given how messy and demanding these ladies ended up being. It’s also still the first charter, so it was never going to be perfect. While this is happening, the other guests seated in the saloon discuss chipping in to raise the tip because neither the primary nor Karen “wanted to give extra money.” I swear, my jaw dropped.

After the guests leave, Daisy reassures Lucy and Mads that they worked as hard as possible and will have to make it their goal to improve the quality of service. Captain Glenn then calls for the first tip meeting of the season. Much to everyone’s pleasant surprise (myself included), he announces that the guests left a $19,100 tip, which comes down to 2,105 euros per person. Despite the complaints, Captain Glenn has nothing but praise for the crew, shouting out Colin for literally saving the season and thanking the deckies and stews for doing a great job.

With the charter behind us, it’s time for shit to get real because the first crew night out has arrived! To celebrate, Captain Glenn has organized a dinner for the crew, and everyone is thrilled to have some time off to drink. “I am mad at the boat; me and the boat aren’t friends right now. I quickly remembered why I drink so much,” Daisy says in a confessional. Later in the evening, Alex says that drunk Daisy is his “spirit animal.” I love this for her.

Dinner, which allows everyone to get to know one another better — we find out that Lucy graduates from school soon and that Chase once made a four-day road trip around Ireland — essentially serves as an appetizer for the more messy, alcohol-fueled main course that is partying on the boat. We all know that’s where all the actual magic (Read: drama) happens. Colin opts out of getting “shitfaced” because he wants to be on his A-game for the next charter, and I have to respect that.

As the champagne flows and the crew gets wild in the hot tub, the editors masterfully cut to a shot of Captain Glenn tucked away in bed reading a book. Daisy and Mads share a kiss, and Daisy and Alex dance before he kisses her on the cheek. “You’re so pretty doing your thing in the hot tub,” he tells Daisy, who doesn’t appear to be aware of what planet she’s on. Alex tells Chase, “I kinda love Daisy. I also love Mads. Whoever gets there first…” He’s shaping up to be Gary 2.0.

The episode concludes with the group deciding to play truth or dare, which leads to Alex making out with Daisy, then with Mads, and then with Daisy again. Oof. Chase, whose biggest red flag so far is the eagle tattooed across his chest, gets dared to kiss Lucy, who moments before was telling Mads that she “cannot do Chase” because he’s “too American.”

Thankfully, it seems like Gary will be coming back to shake things up next week. But I’m mostly just hoping that we get to see Captain Glenn do what he does best: Impress the guests with his chaotic sailing.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Colin MacRae Saves The Day

Episode 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht opened just after Captain Glenn Shephard learned that the Parsifal III’s engine was full of salt water . It was going to take 15 days to take the engine apart, clean it and reassemble it. Fun times!

The Parsifal III Is Still Not For Sail

The situation with the boat is dire. The local engineers were telling Captain Glenn that their shop was not available to do the fix, since it would take 15 days. “That’s bulls–t!” interjected Colin MacRae , the Parsifal’s Chief Engineer. “I’ve seen it done in 5 days!” But Captain Glenn explained, “The problem is we don’t have the rebuild kit. It might take us two or three days just to find it.”

“On top of that,” Glenn added, “we have guests on board who do not get their sailing holiday. Sucks to be me right now.” Glenn was not a happy captain.

Meanwhile, in an effort to keep the non-sailing guests somewhat happy, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher was serving them a huge breakfast a couple of decks up. I love me some eggs bennie, any flavor. Yum! As soon as Daisy left the food on the table, one of the ladies brought up, “We will not make them do espresso martinis again. There has to be a limit.”

Her friend questioned that idea. “Why would you say there should be a limit?” she asked. I’m with her! It’s their vacation. They laid out a pile of cash for this sailing yacht that’s currently unable to sail. I think they’re entitled to eat ALL the gourmet food and drink ALL the alcohol. Don’t worry about the crew. That’s what they’re there for. To serve you, the paying guests.

On her way back to the galley, Daisy ran into Junior Stew Lucy Edmunds in the passageway. “Lucky” Lucy was wearing the wrong charter uniform: a tee shirt instead of the collared polo, and a black skort rather than the grey one.

“Oh, hey,” Daisy told Lucy , “this is our uniform,” indicating what she was wearing. Lucy claimed she “literally forgot.” But Daisy just told her to finish up what she was doing in the cabins and then go change.

Back at the breakfast table, Charter Guest Karen (oof, such an unfortunate name to have these days — almost as bad as “Debbie”) was making a pretend phone call. “Hello?” she spoke into her cell. “We need an engine, Can you bring me one? Yes, Parsifal III. Thank you so much . . . They’ll be right over,” she announced, to half-hearted chuckles.

Number One Mission: Distract The Guests From The No-Sailing Part Of The Sailing Yacht

Even though I’m sure there are a million things he’d rather be doing, Captain Glenn stepped into the lion’s den and faced the guests with more bad news. “How are you guys doing?” he asked, although he certainly knew they weren’t happy. “It looks like we’re not leaving the dock [again today],” he apologized.

“So we’re not going anywhere?” a guest inquired sadly. Embarrassed to be the bearer of bad news, Glenn tried to shift the mood. “That doesn’t mean that you guys can’t go somewhere and have fun,” he offered. “There’s a beach a couple of miles away. It’s really nice.”

Fortunately, they bought that idea and said it sounded “fabulous.” Glenn breathed a sigh of relief and beat a hasty retreat. Charter Guest Karen (of course) was not happy. “I love everybody,” she announced. “But I’m done with this. Let’s leave.” Her comment elicited more giggles, but I don’t think she was kidding.

Since the inside crew was so overwhelmed with work and had a mountain of laundry to do, Daisy decided to send the “boys” with the guests on their beach excursion. “Me sending a girl to open up beer bottles [for the guests] would not be a good move,” she said. “Fortunately, Gary [King]’s not here to argue with me.”

Back in the cabin, Karen was on a roll. “We’re not going anywhere,” she complained, “except on a blow-up raft.” She wasn’t really wrong.

On the bridge, Glenn called everywhere he could think of, trying to find the parts they needed to repair the engine. He wasn’t having much luck. Even if he had “all the money in the world,” it wouldn’t make any difference since there was just nothing available.

Meanwhile, the ladies were boarding the tender to go to the beach. Of course, everybody wanted a roadie, but there was no cocktail ice to be found, even though Daisy insisted she had loaded it. Glenn radioed Daisy to bring two bags of ice to the tender ASAP.

“These guests are having less than the best experience possible,” Glenn understated. Sadly true. When Daisy insisted there was ice already in the tender (it was in the ice bucket), Glenn lost his cool. “I’d rather have two than none. Let’s get these guests going.” I hope the guests didn’t hear all the F-words Glenn was using. They were already upset enough without pouring fuel on the fire.

Colin MacRae Saves The Day

Having thought it through, Colin came to Captain Glenn with an unorthodox plan to get the boat moving again. He figured out a way to clean out the saltwater and run the engine without using the aftercooler. They would have to take it slow, but they’d be able to get off the dock. It would be less efficient and require them to limit their speed to four of five knots, but it should work.

A very relieved Captain Glenn exclaimed, “That’s five knots faster than we’re doing now!” Colin should get a raise for saving everyone’s butts (and tips). If they can’t get that boat moving again, they all might as well go home, because their charter season would be over.

While the guests were partying on the beach, Lucy and the other Junior Stew Madison (Mads) Herrera were busy cleaning the guest cabins. The women had strewn their crap everywhere, piled dirty towels in the bathtub, and even clogged the sink drains. One of the stews (I can’t tell you which one, because they both look exactly the same) “guaranteed” that there had been vomiting in the cabins the night before since everyone had been so wasted. I’ve been on cruise ships (I know, I’m too poor for a charter), and I know that puking is very hard on nautical plumbing.

Speaking of vomiting, Chef  Ileisha Dell ‘s blender just went all The Exorcist and spewed green goo over the entire galley, including the ceiling and Ileisha’s white chef’s coat. Looks like dinner will be a little late. Don’t think it’ll matter because, judging by the intoxicated state of the guests coming back from the beach, they won’t be able to taste it anyway. The boat’s plumbing should expect another workout tonight.

Even while the guests were complaining about not being able to leave the dock — “I can do this in Florida” (pretty sure that was Karen) — Colin was nearly done with the tedious job of cleaning saltwater out of the engine. “We’ve got as much of the water out as we possibly can,” he said. “The next step is to actually start the engine and just shoot out anything remaining in the cylinders.”

“I don’t know many engineers that would take this on,” Colin added. “But it kind of excites me in a way.” While hosing down the outside of the boat, deckhand Chase Lemacks asked his co-worker Alex Propson , “You catching vibes from anyone yet?”

“No,” Alex answered. “I don’t really focus too much on ladies yet.” In an interview, Alex confessed that he likes “brunettes with nice teeth.” Since Daisy , Lucy, and Mads are all blondes, where does that leave Alex? Although he thinks they’re all lovely, none of them is really his type. “[But] it’s a long time on a boat,” Alex admitted. “Whatever happens happens. We’ll see.”

Time for an update on Gary , who was still at home hoping to get a negative Covid test so he could return to his job. Those green deckhands could use some training, even though they seemed to be coping pretty well in his absence. Captain Glenn was once again texting Gary to find out what his status was. “Hey dude, when’s your next test?” he wrote. “We need some good news.”

“Tomorrow morning,” Gary responded. “Fingers crossed.”

Meanwhile below deck, Daisy was subtly flirting with Alex . “I mean, Alex is really good-looking,” Daisy admitted in a production interview, “but I don’t want to be hooking up with any junior deckhands . . . [But] I really do enjoy looking at him.” She’s Chief Stew, for f***’s sake! She’s waiting for Gary’s return. At least he’s the First Mate, her equal in the hierarchy. Or perhaps those rumors about the triangle with her, Gary, and Colin will come to fruition . Can’t wait to find out!

While the rest of the crew were setting the dinner table, polishing wine glasses, and delivering even more towels to the guest cabins, Colin was still down in the engine room, attempting to start the engine. After cranking it for so long that I was afraid he’d drain the battery, it finally turned over. And angels sang! “F*** yes!” Colin fist-pumped. “I knew we [meaning “I”] could do it!” Overjoyed with relief and gratitude, Captain Glenn shouted, “Dude! Is that the main engine running?”

“Yes!!!” Colin laughed, as he ran up the stairs to the bridge. “F*** yeah, baby!” Glenn cackled, as he gleefully hugged his Chief Engineer. “That’s amazing!”

Colin just saved the charter season. He should have a big “S” on the front of his uniform. He’s a superhero. “I’m so f***ing stoked right now,” he crowed, as the rest of the crew hugged and celebrated.

“Everyone give Colin a pat on the back,” Glenn announced. “Incredible. Colin’s always been a legend, but he’s just gone up like three notches in my eyes.”

Even though he was elated about the change in their fortunes, the Captain was still feeling a little cautious about their situation. “Until we get her out to sea and test her under load,” he said, “I don’t want to get too excited. But, I’m feeling good.”

Chef Ileisha Hits A Homerun, While Lucy Faces A Hellscape In The Guest Cabins

As the guests gathered on the aft deck for dinner, everyone wanted to sit next to Captain Glenn . The first course was a cucumber gazpacho with olive oil pearls and fresh radish. Sounds delicious to me! Alex thought it sounded disgusting because he’s a Philistine.

At that same moment, Lucy was confronted with a hellscape in the guest cabins. Apparently, the guests were packing and suitcases had been piled everywhere (it always amazes me how much luggage people bring for a two-night charter). Everything was total chaos. The camera even zoomed in on blood smeared on a bed sheet. I can’t even. Who lives like that? Telling herself, “All right, let’s do this,” Lucy took a deep breath and plunged in.

“I am disgusted,” Lucy interviewed. “There is blood on the carpet. Clothes everywhere. It stank of fish.” Ugh. Fish? I don’t even want to know. Shockingly, it seems rich people can be gross, disgusting pigs.

Back at the dinner table, the staff was presenting the next course, which, ironically, was a tuna taco with a parmesan crust and honey mustard sauce. Again it looked delicious, but a little too soon after what Lucy was dealing with in the cabins.

RELATED: Erica Rose Apologizes After Disastrous Below Deck Sailing Yacht Episode

In the galley, Ileisha was fighting her OCD as she prepared for the next course. Her perfectionism was slowing her down , forcing her to have second thoughts about every small detail. The main course was a surf and turf creation: rib-eye with grilled prawns and truffle butter. Again, I’m drooling, and the guests loved it.

When Daisy went down to check on how Lucy was doing with the cabins, she told her to strip the bed with the blood on it and just redo it. They would deal with the sheets the next day, once the guests had gone.

As soon as dinner was done, the guests retired to their now-clean cabins and went to bed. Pretty sure the tired crew followed as soon as possible.

The next morning, even though Colin was anxious to try taking the boat out, Glenn vetoed that idea. The guests were leaving at noon, so sadly there wouldn’t be enough time to take them out for a sail. In addition, the weather wasn’t conducive to sailing. And Glenn added, “There’s no wind, and there’s rain.”

As the ladies enjoyed another beautiful breakfast on the aft deck, Mads got her turn with the ghastly guest cabins. Even though they didn’t get to go sailing, these guests really put the crew through the wringer. I hope they have the good grace to leave them a decent tip, but I’m not holding my breath.

As he headed to the bridge, Glenn texted Gary the good news about Colin getting the engine running. But his good news was dampened by Gary’s response, “Wow that’s great! Is this a bad time to say I tested positive again? :(” Gary’s disappointing announcement caused Glenn to mutter, “I need a drink.”

Two Karens Try To Stiff The Crew On The Tip

As the deckhands loaded the guests’ luggage into a van, the ladies urged someone (I’m guessing it was Karen, as the “most outspoken of the group”) to make a statement to the staff. Dun dun DUN. I don’t have a good feeling about this.

“What’s going on?” Captain Glenn asked, as Karen tearily approached. “Honestly, I felt like we were getting punked,” she began. “We had no toilet paper.” Really? All I saw was Lucy and Mads refilling the toilet paper. “No towels, no bathmats.” So what were all those used towels discarded in the tub then? “Honestly,” Karen continued, “aside from being with my best friend and the company . . . worst trip of my life.”

“Really,” Glenn was flabbergasted at Karen’s review. “We take pride in making sure you guys have everything at all times.” As Daisy was walking past at that moment, Glenn invited her to join the conversation. He told her, “They were just saying there were a few things where we dropped the ball.”

Even though they said Daisy had been “absolutely lovely,” Karen’s bestie told her, “Nobody took out the trash. There was no toilet paper. We had no towels. It was just kind of a hot mess.” What a liar! Everybody who watched this show knows none of that was true.

Knowing these women were full of poopoo, Daisy politely blew them off by saying, “I’ll speak to the girls. I’m sorry about that.” What good would be accomplished by calling out these lying bitches? The whole world will see the proof on TV that they live in a fantasy world. Personally, my feeling is that they were looking for a refund or at least a deep discount because they didn’t get to leave the dock.

Trying to prepare her staff, Daisy told Lucy and Mads , “Just warning you that they’re complaining about us . . . well, complaining about me. It’s fine, but just so you know.”

Just as I suspected, the rest of the group was waiting in the lounge for the two Karens, and one of them commented, “Neither one of them [the Karens] wanted to give extra money.” So they were trying to get out of leaving a tip. The rest of them were discussing how much tip to leave, with one of them saying, “I think we should leave a lot more,” and another woman agreed, “I’m totally down.” They all stood around on the aft deck shuffling Benjamins, as they decided that they needed to make up for their cheapo friends. Bless their hearts.

Back in the lounge, Karen #1 told Karen #2, “I love you for loving me, even when I’m an asshole.” There’s a moment of self-awareness for you. Saying goodbye, Karen #2 said, “Things could have been better, but overall you guys were fantastic. So, girls’ trip of a lifetime.” I thought it was the “worst trip of your life?” After handing Glenn the tip envelope, she disembarked, while the crew smiled and waved. They were smiling on the outside, but seething on the inside.

Despite the nasty comments, Glenn still said, “Great job, everyone.” They did their best under difficult circumstances. Back to work, cleaning up all the mess.

Going forward, Daisy told her stews, “The aim is to improve. Completely stock up the cupboards with toilet paper, so as to avoid [any complaints]. Do you feel like as a team, we did all we could . . . to deliver?” The Chief Stew just chalked it up to being a “hard charter” and encouraged them to keep learning and improving.

Finally, the moment the crew had been waiting for: Glenn called them to the “saloon” for the tip meeting. “That was the Mother of all intense first charters,” he said. “Missing first mate, no engine. Just that we survived that charter is pretty amazing.”

“ Colin ,” he added, “well done. I would say that it’s the most challenging engineering problem I’ve ever come across in my career. That’s never happened [before]. Kudos. I can’t thank you enough.”

“ Daisy ,” he continued, “not being able to leave the dock put an extra strain on especially you guys, so thank you all for your efforts. Ileisha , the guests seemed quite pleased with the food. Personally, I agree, because it was delicious.”

“ Chase and Alex ,” he went on, “thanks for taking the initiative on deck. As far as the status of our first mate, of course, I will pass [that] on as soon as I have news.”

Of course, all they really wanted to hear was the amount of the tip they would all divide. Drum roll, please. That amount was $19,100 US dollars. Wow! Much better than I was expecting. I’m sure much more than they were expecting after the fiasco with the two Karens. Thank god the other women had the decency to step up and pad the tip on behalf of their two deadbeat friends. The surprise and relief in the room were palpable.

And with that, Glenn announced that he’d organized a nice dinner and drinks to reward the crew for their hard work. Cheers! Let the debauchery begin! The crew enjoyed a lovely outdoor dinner, after which they returned to the boat and continued getting absolutely wasted. I could never do that. My body won’t tolerate that much alcohol and rebels after just a couple of drinks. Maybe that’s a blessing in disguise.

Colin wisely decided to call it an early night. In an interview, he confessed, “I would love to get sh**-faced with my crew tonight, but it’s not actually over for me, because tomorrow’s sea trial day. I have to be mature about this one.”

While Colin responsibly went to bed, the rest of the crew drunkenly frolicked in the hot tub. Chase confessed to Alex , “ Daisy’s a looker, bro.”

“I kind of love Daisy ,” Alex confessed. “But I also love Mads .” They agreed, “ Whoever gets there first .” But then a game of Truth or Dare was suggested, so of course Chase dared Alex to make out with Daisy. Someone else dared Chase to kiss Madison .

Ileisha seemed a little shocked. “What is happening?” she giggled in an interview. “If this is night one, I don’t know how the rest of the season is going to go.” Has she worked on a boat before? Isn’t it always like this when the guests are gone and the crew needs to blow off some steam?

It’s only going to get worse when Gary finally manages to test negative and joins this crazy crew. From the previews, it looks like maybe it will happen soon. Can’t wait for his return and the drama that’s promised to ensue. See you next week!

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THE SERVICE WAS REALLY AS BAD AS THE TWO KARENS CLAIMED IT WAS? WERE YOU HAPPY THE OTHER WOMEN STEPPED UP AND COMPENSATED FOR THEM IN THE TIP? HOW MUCH DO YOU MISS GARY?

The 8 least memorable below deck franchise chefs, ranked.

Below Deck guests expect the very best, including delectable cuisine. Here are eight chefs who served great food but weren't really that memorable.

  • Chef Anthony Iracane brings new flavor to Below Deck season 11. He shares culinary skills and sparks dramatic moments.
  • Natasha De Bourg, David White, Kevin Dobson, and others may have been forgotten, but their dishes were impressive.
  • Tom Checketts, Adrian Martin, Ileisha Dell, Matt Burns, and Nate Post had highs and lows during their stints on the show.

Bravo's Below Deck season 11's in full swing, so it's the perfect time to look back at the franchise's eight least memorable chefs. These chefs may have had exceptional culinary skills, but they weren't able to leave their marks on the series. This installment of the long-running Bravo show introduces a crew filled with returning and fresh faces. It's led by Captain Kerry Titheradge, aboard the mega yacht, St. David . Captain Kerry replaced fan-favorite Captain Lee Rosbach, who used to helm the vessel. Captain Kerry's joined by returning cast members Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Deckhand-turned-Bosun, Ben Willoughby.

The franchise has featured many great chefs over the years. One of the Below Deck season 11 cast 's new faces is Chef Anthony Iracane, who made his series debut during the premiere episode of season 11. Chef Anthony's culinary skills will undoubtedly add flavor to the new season , and he has already impressed charter guests. Aside from his work in the kitchen, Chef Anthony will certainly be involved in some of the season's dramatic moments. As Chef Anthony tries to carve out an identity, it's time to reflect on talented Below Deck chefs who may have faded from memory.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

8 natasha de bourg, below deck sailing yacht season 2.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 featured executive chef Natasha De Bourg . Natasha came aboard with an impressive resume, including Michelin-star experience , so it was assumed that her success was a sure thing. The proud Trinidad native was thrilled to be able to represent Caribbean women on the show. She started her career by interning at multiple high-end restaurants and eventually landed a role as a head chef in France. During her time on the show, Natasha often opened up about her past, allowing fans to really connect with her. Despite that, her time as executive chef on the franchise is often forgotten.

Charter guests loved Natasha's food, but fans on a Reddit thread started by czej1800 were quick to say how unimpressive the food looked. " She does talk a LOT about her credentials but her food does look pretty simple and boring ," wrote one Reddit user, in a sentiment that was often repeated throughout the comment section. Another comment read, " Not only is her food unimpressive and poorly executed but she has a terrible, “holier than thou” attitude ." Despite how her food may look to some fans, charter guests were often impressed with Natasha's meals .

In spite of her culinary success, Natasha was not invited back to the franchise after Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2.

7 David White

Below deck mediterranean season 7.

Chef David White from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 got high scores from guests and crew alike. Even Captain Sandy, who was hard to please, was a big fan of Dave. He was creative, had fun with different cuisines, and cared about presentation. Though Dave was always professional with the guests and served fantastic food, he had a messy romantic drama with Chief Stew Natasha Webb . Dave and Natasha were already embroiled in a romantic entanglement when they came aboard, but they kept the secret to themselves. At one point, during a fight, Dave threatened to expose their secret and later sent Natasha inappropriate text messages. He has since apologized for the regrettable behavior.

Before appearing on Below Deck Mediterranean , Dave had several years of cooking experience, and even opened his very own French restaurant . His appearance on the show was not his first experience as a yacht chef, and Dave was known to serve some of the best dishes seen on the series. The UK-born chef suffered a back injury and had to have spinal surgery after wrapping up filming season 7. The self-described adrenaline junkie is prepping for a second climb up Mount Everest in 2023.

Dave dreams of holding the world record for throwing the world's highest altitude dinner party.

6 Kevin Dobson

Below deck season 7.

Executive Chef Kevin Dobson , who only appeared on Below Deck season 7, was often seen butting heads with Chief Stew Kate Chastain, whom he believed wasn't meeting his high service standards. He was constantly undermining her at every turn. For Kate's part, she didn't appreciate Kevin's attitude. Kevin got on Kate's bad side, and he was always clashing with Captain Lee .

One night, the charter guests invited Captain Lee to a guest dinner, and Kevin forgot he had to make an extra plate for dinner that night . Captain Lee was understandably annoyed and told Kevin to step it up for the rest of the season. Though Kevin was able to work things out with Captain Lee, his relationship with Kate never improved, and he never returned to the Below Deck franchise.

5 Tom Checketts

Below deck mediterranean.

Tom Checketts came aboard during Below Deck Mediterranean season 5, halfway through, as a replacement. The season started off with Chef Kiko Lorran in the kitchen. When Chef Kiko failed to live up to Captain Sandy Yawn's high standards during a Las Vegas-themed dinner one night, Captain Sandy lost all faith in Kiko and sent him packing. With them needing a new chef, deckhand Malia White, who was dating Tom at the time, suggested him as the chef. Captain Sandy loved the idea and Tom arrived soon after to run the kitchen for the rest of the season.

Once aboard the mega yacht, the pressure was on and Tom felt it.

He even had a full meltdown one night when he had to get back to work before his break was over. He took his frustrations out on second stew Aesha Scott and made her cry. Tom later felt bad and apologized to her. Though chef Tom made quite an impression, he never returned to the franchise after his half season on Below Deck Mediterranean .

4 Adrian Martin

Below deck season 6.

Adrian Martin of Below Deck season 6 is often considered to be one of the franchise's best chefs. In addition to his impressive culinary skills, Adrian, who practiced yoga every morning, brought a much-needed sense of calm to the crew... sometimes. At other times, however, he had an abrasive personality and wasn't always the most respectful crew member . Adrian was criticized for making inappropriate comments towards third stew Laura Betancourt, which made her uncomfortable, and which some people characterized as misogynistic. Adrian wasn't asked back after Below Deck season 6 and has largely been forgotten.

3 Ileisha Dell

Below deck sailing yacht season 4.

Chef Ileisha Dell appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 and never received any bad reviews from the guests. Overall, the charter guests seemed to enjoy what she brought to the table. In addition to her culinary skills, Ileisha never got involved in any of the drama among the rest of the crew, and mostly stayed in the background. The fact that Ileisha wasn't an absolute mess, like the rest of her crew mates, is probably why her time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 was so forgettable.

2 Matt Burns

Below deck season 5.

Yacht Chef Matt Burns impressed charter guests with his culinary skills on Below Deck season 5. When Matt came aboard the yacht, he came with more than ten years of experience working in the restaurant industry, as well as six years of experience as an executive yacht chef . It was clear right away that Matt was passionate about his food and had the highest standards. Matt had traveled all over the world, cooking for famous athletes, Hollywood stars, and high-profile executives. Thanks to all the traveling he was doing, he learned how to cook many forms of cuisine, which impressed charter guests.

Despite being passionate about cooking, according to Matt 's Instagram, he is no longer cooking professionally and is, instead, a real estate agent. His Instagram profile bio reads, " I like to cook/Home Enthusiast, " but his feed is filled with homes that are on the market and homes that have been sold.

Matt still posts the occasional cooking video from time to time, but his career focus seems to be solidly on real estate.

1 Nate Post

Below deck down under season 1.

The inaugural season of Below Deck Down Under hit major turbulence, when Chef Ryan McKewon was difficult to get along with, while also proving himself to be mediocre in the galley. He often refused to accommodate the guests' needs and failed to communicate with chief stew Aesha Scott and the rest of the crew. Things got so bad that Captain Jason Chambers finally fired Ryan mid-season, and brought on Chef Nate Post to save the rest of the charter season. Luckily, Nate proved himself to be a much better chef than Ryan, and got along with the rest of the My Thalassa crew better than Ryan had. Nate ended his season with Captain Jason's respect, but he was never invited back to appear on Below Deck Down Under again.

Below Deck season 11 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. Episodes are available for streaming on Tuesdays on Peacock.

Below Deck' s Captain Kerry admits Ben Willoughby wasn't his first pick for bosun: 'He may not make the whole season'

"Ben wasn't my first choice to be in that position, but he does know the boat well," Captain Kerry tells EW.

Newly crowned bosun Ben Willoughby may have felt like the last Below Deck docking was rainbows and sunshine, but dark clouds are on the way.

Captain Kerry Titheradge reveals exclusively to Entertainment Weekly that not only was the former lead deckhand not his first choice for bosun , but Ben's future isn't locked in on St. David.

"Ben wasn't my first choice to be in that position, but he does know the boat well. He's very good at his job, but he definitely needs to stay focused and understand what the chain of command means," Captain Kerry says.

Also, firing bosun Jared Woodin immediately before a new charter meant that someone from the deck team would need to lead. "He knew the boat well. I didn't know the boat," Captain Kerry says about Ben. "I used to live by a mantra that you can teach a job, but not a personality. And I think if you can treat someone differently, maybe they might not be the ideal personality for the job. But at the time, I needed the right skillset for the job, and that's what he had."

But Captain Kerry adds a teaser that could be a harbinger of tension to come. "I had a lot of faith in him to do that job. But you'll see in the episode as well, more than once, I said, 'Are you up for this?' I mean, I think three times I asked him," Captain Kerry recalls. "And the last time you could see his face, he was sick of being asked a question. And that might give you an idea of the future discussions I'll be having with him."

Fred Jagueneau/Bravo

A possible future discussion could involve Ben's boatmance with deckhand Marie "Sunny" Marquis. Did Captain Kerry know about the bubbling flirtation?

"That was part of the conversation I had with him about having to act different amongst the other crew. I wasn't officially aware," Captain Kerry says. But he was aware of Ben's messy love triangle from last season: "I was aware of his history in his position," the captain adds. "I give everyone a fresh start. Hopefully people react differently to different styles of leadership. And I was hoping that he would react to a different style of leadership later in the season more than once. He came quite close to things not being very good for him. And he may not make the whole season."

Could this neatly tied bowline start to unravel?

10 Below Deck Stews We Always Forget About

  • Below Deck features unmemorable stews like Sierra Storm, Tiffany Copeland, and Jessica Albert, who struggled to make an impact on the show.
  • New stews like Simone Mashile and Madison Stalker struggled to perform their duties and ended up leaving the show early.
  • Yachting reality series showcases the vital role of crew members in creating successful charters and the challenges they face on board.

Below Deck has featured several stews across its multiple franchises that fans might need help remembering today. Since its premiere in 2013, it has become one of the most-watched yachting reality series, spurning multiple spin-offs that have also become household shows. The show brings to the forefront the components that make a successful yachting charter, including the crew's vital role and how they contribute to the success or failure of a season.

Below Deck yacht Steward/ess is responsible for maintaining the Yacht's interior while providing guests with hospitality and entertainment. Over the years, fans have watched stews like Kate Chastain , Daisy Kelliher, and Hannah Ferrier make a name for themselves on the show. However, the show has also featured some stews who made less impact during their stint and are often forgotten by Below Deck fans.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Simone mashile, below deck season 7 second stew.

Simone made her reality TV debut on Below Deck season 7 as a second stew alongside chief stew Kate Chastain and third stew Courtney Skippon. Simone, raised during the apartheid period in South Africa, spent most of her childhood focusing on school work, earning her academic scholarships for high school and college, where she graduated with a degree in mathematics. Compared to most new stews on Below Deck , Simone had no prior yachting experience before her debut, which showed in her performance during the season.

Simone, a model before her debut, struggled to perform her duties as a stew and often needed guidance when performing basic stew duties (via Reality Tea ). She looked uncomfortable around guests and struggled to cut fruit, carry plates, make two-ingredient drinks, or even open a bottle of wine. As the chief stew, Kate couldn't condone Simone's inexperience for long, demoting her to third stew during episode 10. Nonetheless, since leaving the show, Simone has turned into a health influencer, regularly promoting her holistic lifestyle.

Jessica Albert

Below deck season 9 third stew.

Jessica was one of the new faces fans met when Below Deck season 9 premiered. Jessica had pursued various careers, including positions as a sales and catering coordinator and a hairstylist, before her reality TV debut. However, she was also a freelance yacht stew with four years of experience, during which time she earned her "Open Water Diver certificate". As part of a fresh interior crew, which included chief stew, Heather Chase and Fraser Olender, Jessica had a lot of weight on her shoulders, but it became clear she was struggling to cope as soon as the season started.

Jessica struggled with her role's physical needs, often frustrating Heather and Fraser. Jessica also struggled with being away from her grandparents, and she was visibly troubled when she heard her grandmother was undergoing an emergency procedure. Nonetheless, during episode 9, Jessica facilitated her exit from the show by asking to leave. In her conversation with Heather, Jessica noted, " I really, really wholeheartedly wanted to do this, but my body is just shutting down." After being given one hour to leave, Jessica packed her things and left without saying goodbye to the crew (via Cheatsheet).

Madison Stalker

Below deck sailing yacht season 1 second stew.

Madison made her reality TV debut as a second stew during Below Deck Sailing Ya cht season 1 . A competitive figure skater during her childhood, Madison entered the yachting industry after graduating from Michigan State University. With three and a half years of experience, Madison joined the BDSY crew, and once season 1 premiered, Madison quickly became a fan favorite due to her bubbly personality. She also struck up a good friendship with fellow stew Georgia Grobler.

However, Madison's working relationship with chief stew Jenna MacGillivray suffered during the season. The pair often disagreed, leading to some drama within the interior crew. During the reunion, Madison explained she felt excluded by Jenna, who also made her life a "living hell. " Nonetheless, the pair buried the hatchet as both agreed to leave the drama behind them. Since leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1, Madison has continued her career in the yachting industry.

Tiffany Copeland

Below deck mediterranean season 1 third stew.

Tiffany's love for aquatic animals and her desire to protect them led her to Florida Atlantic University, where she studied marine biology. After getting her degree, Tiffany started her career as a "Marine Endangered Species Observer," but her attention soon turned to yachting after a blind date convinced her to become a stewardess. Soon, Tiffany made her reality TV debut as the third stew on Below Deck Mediterranean season 1, working alongside chief stewardess Hannah Ferrier.

Despite her enthusiasm, Tiffany struggled with her stew duties, often leading to her butting heads with Chief Stew Hanna h, who told her, " If you can't sustain what you've done the past few days, then you shouldn't be in yachting " (via The List ). Nonetheless, Tiffany survived the season and even got romantically involved with Chef Ben Robinson. Surprisingly, after leaving Below Deck Mediterranean season 1, Tiffany remained in the industry and became a captain.

Georgia Grobler

Below deck sailing yacht season 1 third stew.

Georgia made her reality TV debut during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1 alongside Madison Stalker and chief stew Jenna Macgillivray. Georgia starred on the show with very little yachting experience, which was evident in her performance during the first few episodes. Although Georgia struggled initially and sometimes clashed with Chief Stew Jenna, her friendship with Maddison kept her focused, and she soon improved quickly, becoming very skilled in the laundry room.

Georgia, who is also a singer, impressed the crew with her voice during a performance for some charter guests , earning rave reviews from Captain Glenn Shepard. However, her constant flirting with first mate, Paget Berry, earned her some criticism since Paget was in a relationship with deckhand Ciara Duggan . Nonetheless, Georgia never acted on her feelings for Paget throughout the season.

Lara Flumiani

Below deck mediterranean season 5 second stew.

Lara joined Below Deck Mediterranean season 5 as a second stew with ten years of experience in the yachting world, which she fell in love with after accidentally joining the industry. Lara worked as a stew on several boats and a chief stew on a small yacht, so she was expected to become an integral part of the interior crew once the season started. However, after just two episodes, it became clear how toxic Lara's energy was. Lara had no regard for her chief stew, Hannah Ferrier, and was very confrontational whenever asked to do the tasks.

Eventually, Captain Sandy Yawn called a meeting and asked for a truce between the two, telling Lara, " Hannah's your boss, Hannah's gonna tell you what to do ." The following morning, Lara left the boat very early before radioing Captain Sandy, asking to meet on the dock. Lara unsurprisingly asked to leave after just three episodes, noting, " I'm not feeling comfortable anymore, I would like to leave. So thanks for everything, you will find someone else. " Lara refused to step on the boat again, and deckhand Peter was tasked with packing her belongings.

Samantha Orme

Below deck season 1 third stew.

Samantha Orme made history as one of the first-ever stews on Below Deck when she made her reality TV debut as the third stew during the inaugural season. Samantha, who was relatively new to the industry, became a steward after her sister, who was a yachtie, had passed away in a car accident. Once the season premiered, it became clear Samantha wasn't enjoying her time on the yacht. Samantha clashes with Chief Stew Adrienne Gang , not respecting her authority.

Samantha also broke the rules when she and the second engineer, CJ LeBeau, were caught swimming in the ocean with a beer bottle. Besides her disagreements with Chief Stew Adrienne, Samantha's romance with CJ was also a highlight during the season, although it never developed past a few kisses. Unsurprisingly, Samantha left the yachting industry after the Below Deck season 1 finale and has become a senior project manager at the solar energy company "Green Solar Technologies" in North Hollywood, California.

Sierra Storm

Below deck season 4 third stew.

Sierra's start to her Below Deck stint was rich in drama when she surprisingly missed her flight to join the crew members in the Caribbean. Once aboard the Valor yacht, it became clear Sierra would leave a lasting impression on the show when she continually clashed with Chief Stew Kate Chastain. One of the most important gadgets to have during a charter is the radio, but Sierra was very careless with hers, often losing it, which frustrated Captain Lee Rosbach and Kate.

Also, Sierra found herself as the subject of Kyle Dixon's attention. Although Kyle had a girlfriend, Ashley, he pursued a romance with Sierra. However, Sierra's attitude of giving Kyle conflicting signals resulted in a feud between her and Bosun Kelley Johnson , who accused Sierra of playing games with Kyle's heart. Still, Sierra managed to survive the season but claimed to regret participating due to the relentless drama aboard the Yacht (via The Things ).

Below Deck Season 5 Third Stew

Jennifer made her reality TV debut as a third star in Below Deck season 5. After the premiere, it immediately became apparent Jen wasn't the best fit for her role as she struggled to deal with every task thrown her way. Jen's struggles meant she regularly clashed with Chief Stew Kate Chastain when she got lost while doing simple tasks. Jen also struggled with the emotional requirements of the job (via Nicki Swift ).

In one episode, Jen broke down crying, saying, I'm being pulled in a million directions, I'm being told to do something, and I do it, and then you're yelling at me for doing what I was told. " However, her most dramatic episode occurred when she got drunk and suffered a meltdown after a night out with the crew, which resulted in several fights among the crew. Still, Jen survived the season but hasn't appeared on Below Deck since. Jen still works in the yachting industry and also as a luxury realtor.

Amy Johnson

Below deck season 2 third stew.

Amy made her reality TV debut in Below Deck season 2 as a stew alongside her brother Kelley Johnson. With eight years of yachting experience, Amy's addition brought additional professionalism to the interior crew. After making her debut, Amy's bright and friendly personality made her a quick fan favorite. However, despite trying her best to avoid the deck drama, Amy found herself butting heads with Chief Stew Kate Chastain and Second Stew Kat Held after they ganged up and often ignored her.

Still, Amy survived the season and surprisingly returned for Below Deck season 3 as a second stew. Amy had to support her brother Kelley's roller coaster experience and the drama from third stew Rocky Dakota during her second stint. After leaving Below Deck , Amy retired from yachting and married her then-boyfriend, Ellis Lenthall, in October 2020.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Jill Zarin faced backlash from fans for coming off as “rude” on Monday’s episode of “Below Deck.”

The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum stayed on the superyacht as a friend of the primary guest, but crew members quickly pointed out that she was trying to take control.

“Jill is the primary in her head. She’s overwhelming,” stewardess Barbara “Barbie” Pascual admitted in a confessional.

During the trip, one of the things that rubbed Pascual the wrong way was Zarin demanding to get different-shaped ice cubes for her Diet Coke compared to the rest of the group.

“I don’t care about anyone else. My Diet Cokes [go] into the freezer,” Zarin, 60, also told her.

In another instance, Zarin made a “special request” for a makeup mirror before pointing out that she could not find an electrical outlet in the bathroom. She also criticized the fact that the bathrooms were not stocked with toiletries.

“I want to tell you something else, because I’ve charted a lot of yachts before [and] every bathroom is loaded with toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, Band-Aids, Q-Tips –– has anyone ever said that before?” Zarin asked Pascual. “I like to complain, I’m sorry.”

Zarin also requested a bell from Chief Stew Fraser Olender so she could call the crew anytime they needed anything.

The former “Housewife” further voiced her concerns about the food and suggested there be snacks “out all the time.”

She even told the primary guest, “That’s why I have to get involved. I’m a little pushy but at least you’ll be satisfied.”

Zarin even complained during lunch, criticizing that they were being served sporadically, the food was cold and there was no hot sauce readily available. She even requested that the chef make her a separate meal of chicken pad thai, sushi and crudité for dinner.

During confessional interviews, the “Below Deck” crew complained about her with Pascual saying, “I think she’s annoying, and I think it’s too much. You’re a freeloading guest who’s extremely demanding. This is too much for me. I need another stew just for Jill.”

Olender also slammed Zarin, noting, “Jill is crawling into my brain and eating away at my soul.”

“I think the primary, she’s OK, but her friend taking over the boat, it’s like she’s a f–king captain,” Chef Anthony Iracane said in his confessional. “Like taking over the ship.”

Shortly after the episode aired, fans took to social media to slam Zarin for her “gross” behavior.

“Watching #BelowDeck and just unfollowed Jill Zarin. I knew she could be a pain sometimes but I thought overall as a person that she was kind and considerate. Clearly, I was wrong. My parents would be so ashamed of me if I treated ppl that way,” someone tweeted.

“It’s not cute to be an a–hole. It’s not impressive. It’s not attractive. It’s just gross. And yes, I’m talking to you Jill Zarin.. and so many others I see on these shows. I would be SO embarrassed to have people see me act like a spoiled brat. #BelowDeck,” another person wrote.

“I unfollowed Jill Zarin I hope everybody follows along. She is a terrible, entitled you know what. She wasn’t even the primary and was given everybody orders I would’ve thrown her over the boat. #BelowDeck,” one user added.

Jill Zarin and Gary Brody posing together

“Please Bravo, I’m begging you, let this be the last time we see Jill Zarin on your network. We don’t want any more. She is entitled and rude and mean. #BelowDeck #jillzarin #rhony,” someone chimed in.

“Jill Zarin is so self-important, demanding, and privileged. She acted as if she were the primary. Fraser let himself get caught up in it so that service and the food suffered. Jill is insufferable. #BelowDeck,” another user pointed out.

“Jill Zarin is absolutely insufferable. THIS is why she was never invited back to #RHONY #belowdeck,” someone added.

Zarin has yet to address the backlash and her rep didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

“Below Deck” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Jill Zarin's controversial Below Deck episode 'seems fake' thanks to 'obnoxious' demands

Jill Zarin’s controversial Below Deck episode ‘seems fake’ thanks to ‘obnoxious’ demands

Below Deck saw none other than The Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin join the boat for a fun-filled vacation. By Jill’s side was Gary Brody – but the episode didn’t go down too well.

After she was hailed “insufferable” on Below Deck , Jill Zarin is vowing to have zero cameras on any future vacations. The Real Housewives of New York City star had a few demands on-board, as well as her guests.

Jill Zarin and Below Deck guests sit around large table smiling.

Below Deck meets Jill Zarin

Jill Zarin joined Below Deck’s April 1 episode with a group, including five-year boyfriend Gary Brody. She was instantly recognized as RHONY’s former cast member, and many say she hasn’t changed since.

As a friend of the primary guest, Jill gives serious main character energy on the show. She even made some confessions herself, telling Captain Kerry that she has captained a boat before.

She then clarifies, “Not a boat like this. The furthest I went was Newport.” When the captain responds, “Oh, really? Mm hmm,” Jill tells him, “I wouldn’t go to Nantucket though, that’s too much openness.”

When the dinner hasn’t been served by 8.20pm – despite a plan of 8.30pm for food – Jill is sauntering up to Fraser Olender, asking what the chances are of the group sitting to eat in ten minutes are.

After suggesting crudités and sushi for appetizer, despite the Primary being unable to eat raw fish, she also everyone if their food was cold and to tell the stews “because they like feedback.”

When her main meal of pad Thai chicken is served cold, Jill suggests the captain won’t like it, but does give a compliment on the “very impressive” dessert!

Bravo fans convinced it’s all ‘fake’

One Reddit user said: “Idk it kind of broke the third wall too much. Like it seemed really fake. Obviously the show is fake but this made it seem like an SNL sketch of below deck.”

Another penned: “I totally agree. We know the producers encourage guests to act more demanding, she’s just naturally good at it 🤣 This one seemed more staged than normal.”

“Jill said she and the group didn’t know each other. I think they had trouble filling spaces and others were brought in later. They likely all paid an equal split so Jill wouldn’t feel like a secondary guest,” they added.

However, she did thank the primary charter guests for the trip. “Thank you @themelindaspringer and @mrnoahspringer for an amazing trip,” Jill, 60, wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story on Wednesday.

Alongside a picture of her and pal Melinda Springer on the yacht, she wrote, “We made a great show together but this summer’s trip NO cameras! Love you both ❤️❤️❤️.”

Captain Jason Chambers shares update on Below Deck Down Under Season 3, asks fans for help

Captain Jason Chambers on Below Deck Down Under

Captain Jason Chambers has given an update on Below Deck Down Under Season 3 while asking fans for some help.

Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under was a mega-hit for the latest Below Deck spin-off.

Below Deck Med Season 9 and Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, were also announced at the same time.

However, unlike the other Below Deck shows, Below Deck Down Under Season 3 hadn’t been filmed when news of the renewal broke.

Months later, fans anxiously await news on when Captain Jason and his trusty side-kick Chief Stew Aesha Scott will be back.

Captain Jason Chambers shares Below Deck Down Under Season 3 update

It seems that Captain Jason, too, is getting antsy waiting for more news on the upcoming season of his hit-yachting show. Last December, the hunky captain admitted the next installment of Below Deck Down Under had yet to be filmed.

According to Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, Below Deck Down Under Season 3 was filming earlier this month.

The other day, Captain Jason took to Instagram to express his readiness for Season 3 of Below Deck Down Under to hit Bravo airwaves.

“Anyone else excited for Season 3 of BDDU?” he wrote alongside a video featuring highlights from Season 2.

The comments section of Captain Jason’s IG post was filled with fans asking about the show, prompting him to ask for help.

Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers asks fans for help

While the hunky captain didn’t spill any filming details or even confirm the season was in the can, he did have some information to drop.

One user wanted to know when Below Deck Down Under would start. There was a response from Above Deck Podcast that the show was currently filming, and then Captain Jason chimed in.

“Talk is this year 🤔 Lets shout out and tell @belowdeckbravo how much we want this…” was his response.

Captain Jason fan help

When more users asked about a premiere date, Captain Jason again encouraged them to reach out to Bravo to let the network know how much fans want the show back on air.

The captain reiterated his hope it would be soon because he thinks “we need another BDDU on our screens soon.” We have to agree with Captain Jason, too!

BDU fans reply to Captain Jason's IG post

Other fans opened up about missing the show, as one user thought the video was a trailer for the new season.

“I know it’s way too long for us all, but let’s bring some good memories back so people ( Bravo) don’t forget we had a good season..,” the captain replied.

It was also brought up that Below Deck Med is on all the time and questioned if Below Deck Down Under isn’t good enough. Captain Jason popped up to explain he loves being an underdog, but a new season is needed immediately.

Captain Jason teases BDU Season 3

There’s no question that Captain Jason is rallying the troops to get Below Deck Down Under Season 3 on Bravo ASAP.

One of his responses, though, has us worried it won’t be until next year as he commented, “One every two years is just too long.”

Captain Jason BDU comments

Captain Jason Chambers and Below Deck Down Under fans want the show back on Bravo.

Unfortunately, the earliest it would air is late next fall. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, the Below Deck Season 11 mid-season trailer just dropped, so it’s only at the halfway point.

That means Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 won’t air until June, and Below Deck Med Season 9 will likely follow sometime in the early fall. Season 3 of Below Deck Down Under should air after those two Below Deck spin-offs wrap.

If Bravo decides to double up episodes, it could make way for Below Deck Down Under Season 3 earlier, but we haven’t heard a peep about that yet.

Below Deck Down Under is currently on hiatus on Bravo. Seasons 1-2 are streaming on Peacock.

BDDU needs to start filming ASAP. I and everyone need more of this great show.
