This complete features wheel flares pressed over the wheel wells to add clearance for larger wheels and to give reference points for your feet. It comes set up with Polar Bear 105mm trucks for maximum agility and a super-tight turning circle. 72mm Plow Kings finish off the setup and ensure you’ll have an extra fast, smooth ride over all types of terrain!

At 28.5″ long and 8″ wide, it’s an agile city cruiser that can go where many boards can’t. Featuring a 100% Canadian Maple constructed deck with low concave and wheel wells for strength and durability through all elements you may come across.

Ready to turn on a dime and provide the responsiveness you desire are the Polar Bear trucks. These 105mm Polar Bear trucks are strong, agile, and ready to grip the tightest turns. These fast rolling Landyachtz Plow King and Bear Spaceball Built-in bearings are the perfect match if you are wanting to have some fun while cruising around. Ride for miles or turn them side ways and slide. With a 72mm diameter, these wheels will tackle anything in its path.

The way that the perimeter is cut out on the Classic Fender is identical to the Classic, but the mould has an added feature: wheel flares! Same Classic shape, different concave! The Dinghy Fender has two main attributes: it allows for more wheel clearance, and it locks your feet in. The Dinghy Classic shape has been a staple of our line-up for over 10 years now and is still the first board we grab for a quick rip to the store or around the neighbourhood . Our Dinghy shapes were designed hand in hand with the components that come on them to create the ideal compact and capable cruiser boards. You’ll notice the difference every time you grab your Dinghy and head out the door.

The Classic Dinghy shape has been the cornerstone of our cruiser lineup for many years now and it continues to deliver good times. At 28.5″ long and 8″ wide, it’s an agile city cruiser that can go where many boards can’t. The Classic Dinghy is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple for a light, stiff and poppy ride. It comes set up with Polar Bear 105mm trucks for maximum agility and a super-tight turning circle. 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs wheels finish off the setup and ensure you’ll have a smooth ride with plenty of roll speed and grip without having to worry about wheel bite.

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

Mellow concave that barely feels like it’s there, but designed to give you the control you need, when you need it.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

Also known as pressed wheel wells, flares are part of the board shape. The resulting bumps in the concave on top allow for larger wheels, looser trucks, and provide better control and more precise foot placement.

Flex Rating

Flex has a big impact on the overall feel of your board and is influenced by a bunch of different factors. The main ones being thickness of the deck, it's wheelbase and rider weight. To put the equation in laymans terms: more flex occurs when you decrease thickness of the deck, increase the wheelbase and increase rider weight. The more flex in your board the more carvy and agile it'll feel, less flex means it's more stable and suited for faster skating. We test every complete with a device we built in house, specifically to standardize flex ratings.

My favorite sized landyachtz board!

I love this size! I started on the ditch life, then went to the tugboat which were both awesome, but I really wanted something with 63mm wheels, but bigger than my dinghy. The fenders make it perfect to ride loose enough to carve on, especially as a heavy bodied skater (335lbs).

I’ve got the matching orange 63mm easy slides on it for the perfect setup! Landyachtz! Please keep making fender shapes!

this board was overall a very good board. this was my second board that i ordered from landyachtz and let me tell you was it worth it yes it was . i have used it to bomb hills and to cruise around. 10/10 i would 100% but this again

Great Quality, Perfect Starter Board

I got this as my first board in 2020 and learned how to skate for real on it (before then it was a Walmart cruiser.) Turning is amazing I’ve never to this day rode a better handling board. Wheels are good, not perfect but nothing wrong with them, as long as you don’t go into a huge crack in the road you’ll be fine. The board is still holding up as good as new today in 2024.

The way that the perimeter is cut out on the Classic Fender is identical to the Classic, but the mould has an added feature: wheel flares! Same Classic shape, different concave! The Dinghy Fender has two main attributes: it allows for more wheel clearance, and it locks your feet in. With the 105mm Polar Bear trucks and 72mm Plow King wheels, this setup is ideal if you like sliding, enjoy an aggressive riding style, or just want some huge wheels.

Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Light as a feather and strong as an ox. The Landyachtz Dinghy is a small maple commuting board ideal for getting from A to B. The maple construction makes for strong, light board and thus easy to handle with smooth ride. It’s the ideal size for stuffing in a locker, coat check at the bar, under your arm in the grocery store or carrying on to a plane.

The board comes with a slight kicktail, just enough tail to Ollie a curb and its extremely short wheel base allow you to make the tightest possible turns and gives you heaps of traction. Riding this board everyday will make you a better rider. Certain models also come equipped with a thin layer of foam sandwiched between the board and the griptape, making for an ultra-comfortable ride.

The Dinghy comes set up with 105mm Polar Bear trucks, Plow Kings and Bear Spaceball bearings.

VESSEL REVIEW | Sinichka – Electric commuter boats designed for Russia’s Moskva River

A series of three new electric monohull commuter ferries have already begun operational sailings on the Moskva River in the Russian capital Moscow.

Built by Russian shipyard Emperium, sister vessels Sinichka , Filka , and Presnya – all named after rivers in Moscow – are being operated by the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development (Moscow Deptrans). They are the first units of a planned fleet of 20 vessels that will serve the capital city and other nearby communities. The new ferry system will be the water transport system to be operated on the Moskva River in 16 years.

Each vessel has a welded aluminium hull, an LOA of 21 metres, a beam of 6.2 metres, a draught of only 1.4 metres, a displacement of 40 tonnes, and capacity for 80 passengers plus two crewmembers. Seating is available for 42 passengers on each ferry, and the main cabins are also fitted with USB charging ports, wifi connectivity, tables, toilets, and space for bicycles and scooters. The cabin layout can be rearranged to allow the operator to adjust the distances between the seats and to install armrests of varying widths.

An open upper deck is also accessible to passengers and is the only area on each ferry where smoking is allowed.

The ferries are all of modular construction with each ferry’s wheelhouse, main cabin, and other structural elements being built as complete, separate components. This enables the ferries to be easily dismantled for transport to anywhere in Russia by rail and then quickly re-assembled within seven days.

The ferries are also ice-capable. Recently completed operational trials on the Moskva showed that the vessels can also easily navigate under mild winter conditions with broken surface ice, though year-round operations are planned for the entire fleet.

The ferries are each fitted with 500kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs that supply power to two 134kW motors. This configuration can deliver a maximum speed of 11.8 knots, a cruising speed of just under 10 knots, and a range of 150 kilometres.

Emperium said the transfer of rotation of electric motors to the propeller is carried out by direct drive. As a propulsion installation, a pulling rotary propeller-steering column with double screws is used. The installation of double pulling screws, with similar power, allows an operator to increase the efficiency of the propulsion system to deliver a slightly higher speed or to reduce energy consumption. This arrangement also provides the ferries with enhanced manoeuvrability necessary for navigating in close quarters.

The batteries themselves have projected service lives of 10 to 12 years and are fitted with safety features such as built-in fire extinguishers and gas vents. Quick-disconnect features allow the batteries to be easily removed for replacement or maintenance.

Some of our readers have expressed disquiet at our publication of reviews and articles describing new vessels from Russia. We at Baird Maritime can understand and sympathise with those views. However, despite the behaviour of the country’s leaders, we believe that the maritime world needs to learn of the latest developments in vessel design and construction there.
