Jim Loveland's Adonia Houseboat

Jim Loveland’s 22- by 92-foot Adonia houseboat was completed and hit the water early last spring and his whole family has been over the moon with excitement.

When Jim was deciding what type of houseboat he wanted, he knew he would want to go with an Adonia because of their high-quality vessels. Jim has known Taylor, the owner of Adonia Yachts, for quite some time and has seen what he’s doing with the new Adonia boats. He said he’s always absolutely blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of their houseboats.

Jim explained that their boat’s master suite is on the mid-deck, which was something he’d never experienced before and is thoroughly enjoying.

“I love that master suite up there,” smiled Jim. “Just the way it lays out and the privacy we get up there has been fantastic.”

One of the Loveland family’s favorite features on the boat is the fire pit up top. They also put a smoker up there which makes for quite the family fun. Jim and his family love the design of their boat with its innovative layout and windows that open up the back of the boat to the beauty of the lake.

“We’ve been houseboating for at least two decades on Lake Powell ,” shared Jim. “So we have seen a number of different houseboats and this one is unbelievable and absolutely incredible. We love it.”

Adonia Yachts is excited about their 2019 product line. They have a 24- by 120-foot deep hull boat in the works that they believe will change the way people houseboat. Barbarac II (their largest boat to date) has been a very successful boat for Adonia. This was their first yacht launched with their actuated fold-out docks and integrated PWC storage system, which have worked flawlessly. Adonia has many yachts in production that will be utilizing this technology. The company is constantly working on improving their product line, and is currently revamping their upper level outdoor kitchens so they can have more cabinet space as well as new options for waterproof custom designed cabinetry.

Luxury Houseboat Shares contracts with Adonia Yachts to customize new houseboats for use on Lake Powell.  We then bring owners together to buy into a fraction of the houseboat.  Depending on the boat, there can be anywhere from 2 to 18 owners per boat. We are dedicated to helping you decide which fractional ownership is the best fit for your specific wants and needs.  For example, If you buy one share on a 10 owner boat, you would own 1/10 or 10% of that boat. This means that you would be responsible for 10% of the total cost (including the operational cost) of the boat. Sharing the ownership cost on a luxury boat has become an increasingly desirable way to vacation at Lake Powell. With the prices of rental houseboats skyrocketing, fractional ownership is more popular than ever. Once you step foot on a new shared ownership boat, you will see that the quality and exceptionality of these boats is second to none. 

The share you purchase is associated with a specific trip date, which will be guaranteed to you each year.  Depending on the share you buy, it could be anywhere from a 7 day trip to a 12 day trip. This is your trip date each year.  Aside from your one “in season” trip, you will also be able to reserve the boat during pre and post season time.  A boat with 6 owners will have much more off season availability than a boat with 12 owners.  When choosing what fractional ownership situation works best for you, it’s important to know how much time you will want on the boat each year. If you only want to use the boat for one trip each year, a boat with more fractional owners would be appropriate. However, if you are interested in using the boat for a few trips each year, it would be in your best interest to buy into a boat that has much fewer fractional ownership shares.

Luxury Houseboat Riding the Waters of Lake Powell

This houseboat offers the chance to disconnect and reconnect, while surrounded by the beauty of Lake Powell and family. The sleek design of Adonia’s yachts provides a noticeable distinction from other boats. Admiring the equipped appearance demonstrates Adonia’s 20-year commitment to creating an incredible experience. 

Before upgrading to the Oddysey, we rented the Athena. With our bigger families, the longer deck and additional master bedroom on the second or third floor were just too tempting. This 8 bedroom, 5 bathroom houseboat contains 2 master suites and 2 kids’ cuddies, making it perfect for family vacations. The back deck is longer than initially planned because we added toy deck space with the 4 PWCs being loaded fully on. However, the deck area is able to be used fully when they are offloaded or in use. 

The customizable third floor took this houseboat to another level. Late nights around the fire pit helped us create bonds and memories we will never forget. 

After 20 years of experience, Adonia Yachts has certainly mastered the art of luxury. As of 2022, I was extremely impressed with the Odyssey and cannot wait to experience it again.
