The award winning 68.15m/223'7" motor yacht 'Sycara V' by the German shipyard Nobiskrug offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 cabins and features interior styling by Craig Beale.

From bow to stern, Sycara V is brimming with an fantastic array of social and dining areas, both inside and out, making her the ideal yacht for relaxing and entertaining whilst on charter. She has sensational features such as a spa, elevator, beach club and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Sycara V is great for families thanks to her child-friendly setup. Built in 2010, She offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests with a layout comprising a master suite, two double cabins, two twin cabins and two single cabins. The master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room as well as a his and her bathroom. There are 11 beds in total, including 5 king, 3 singles and 3 pullmans. She is also capable of carrying up to 18 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on Sycara V is easy thanks to the available amenities, particularly a serene luxury spa, for the utmost in relaxation. Even the most discerning of charter guests will enjoy the included beach club plus maintain your fitness routine and work out in the well-equipped gym. Performance & Range

Sycara V is built with a steel hull and aluminium / grp superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 7,000 nautical miles from her 189,000 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

When not cruising Sycara V has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two WaveRunners. Another excellent feature are towable toys offering fun and adventure. Additionally, there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. SYCARA V's owner is an enthusiastic and experienced yachtsman.

Right from the beginning he had very clear and detailed views on how his yacht should look, and what she should be able to do. He had previously owned a variety of yachts, three of which were drawn by the design legend Jon Bannenberg.

But this time he wanted something altogether different – a powerful and modern yacht design that retained an elegant appearance.

SYCARA V has a solid steel hull…

…and an aluminium super structure made from fiberglass die-cast parts; a NOBISKRUG specialty that allows any shape or size to be formed. This saves weight and construction time. The construction, solid through and through, as well as a sophisticated insulation system, ensure that this superyacht runs extremely silent.

In 2010, the world was introduced to Sycara V. After years of providing unparalleled experiences on water for both owner and charter guest, we look at what makes this project an exciting yacht in terms of both sales and charter.

Measuring 68 metres, Sycara V was the vision of an experienced owner. The brief was to create a yacht which offered the most comfortable yachting experience available to charter guests across the world.

The people tasked with building this superyacht were yacht designer Craig Beale and forward-thinking German yacht builder Nobiskrug .

The design elements that run throughout this yacht are all aimed at a sophisticated lifestyle, combined with ample spaces both internally and externally to live in harmony with the water.

Her penthouse style interior - also designed by Craig Beale - features beautiful woods, natural stones and fabrics, while her exterior spaces divided into dedicated, purpose-built entertaining, relaxing and dining areas.

The sun-deck in particular is an example of her undeniable charter appeal, featuring BBQ, bar, dining table, gym room, pool and a treatment room.

From the top, to the bottom, Sycara V’s beach club is an idyllic observation point where owners and guests can sit as close to the water in complete comfort and watch the waves surrounding the signature blue hull.

The full-beam Master Suite features private terrace, while the overall accommodation layout provides space for 12 guests in a total of 7 cabins; not including space for a world-class crew of 20.

“There’s not a harbor or port in the world where Nadan wouldn’t spin heads and drop jaws,” Captain Andy Lytle told Robb Report during a tour of the yacht at this year’s Palm Beach International Boat Show.

The yacht was originally designed to cruise the low-bridge canals and rivers of the Eastern Seaboard, so she was given a slightly-unusual low-profile look. That changed when the yacht was sold in 2017 and renamed Nadan .

The new buyer, automotive engineer and philanthropist Klaus Bytzek, reportedly wasn’t happy with the low-profile look—he’s said to have likened the lines to a wedding cake lacking a top layer—so he sent it to Fort Lauderdale for a refit.

Bytzek commissioned Freivokh to add a tall-windowed, varnished wood “wheelhouse” on the top deck to give the yacht back its elegant proportions and regain a sense of balance. But instead of making it a proper wheelhouse with a wheel, Bytzek turned it into his “man cave”—though that 2000s term is less apt than what eventually looked like Jay Gatsby’s den.

Bytzek filled it with a velvet sofa, comfy side chairs, a full-width desk with elegant Tiffany lamps, and in a single modern nod, a big-screen TV. “It’s just the greatest place to get away from it all, enjoy some privacy and personal space away from guests,” says Lytle.

“ Nadan is a yacht that has had three great owners who’ve had the passion and the means to maintain her in perfect condition,” says Edmiston yacht brokerage director, Bruce Brakenhoff.

Why is the current owner selling? Brakenhoff explains the yachtsman has a new, bigger sailboat under construction, and three yachts is one too many. “Right now, she’s in magnificent condition with a turnkey crew, and ready to go,” he added.

With a draft of just six feet, Nadan is perfectly suited to cruising the skinny waters of the Bahamas where she’s been spending the winter months, before typically heading north to Maine for the summer.

Powered by a pair of 600-horsepower Caterpillar C18 diesels, the all-aluminum vessel has a friendly cruise speed of around 12 knots, with a top end of 14. With its 4,300-gallon fuel capacity, range is around 2,400 nautical miles at 10 knots.

“She has a fairly slender hull—the beam is just 26 feet—but she moves through the water beautifully, creating less than a foot of wake at cruising speed,” says Lytle. “When she was built, there was a real focus on reducing noise and vibration. She’s eerily quiet on the move.”

That relatively narrow hull does mean compromises when it comes to interior space, compared to more modern designs, though Lytle likens the interior to that of a classic sailing yacht. The cozy main salon features Art Deco-style sofas, and a stylish bar with ’20s-style chrome stools. That leads into a formal, wood-paneled dining room. Glass doors open out on to a drop-down terrace that’s perfect for a post-dinner Old Fashioned.

Outside entertaining spaces include a sizable aft deck with twin U-shaped lounges under shade, plus a lovely wraparound sofa above the fantail stern. On the top deck are sunpads in front of the new wheelhouse, and a hot tub, dining table, bar and outdoor kitchen behind.

Who will be the next owner? “Likely someone who buys with their heart rather than their head,” says Brakenhoff. “Someone maybe making the move from sail to power. But it will be someone looking for a unique, very special yacht.” The vessel is listed with Edmiston for $22.5 million.

Drawing on the experience gained from his previous yachts, Sycara III’s owner set out to create a yacht that was robust, redundant and simple. As opposed to creating new technologies, proven systems were refined to achieve long-term reliability and ease of operation. While Sycara III draws on the innovations of previous Bannenberg launches, it is ultimately a testament to the super yacht expertise of Oceanfast, who’s engineering accomplishments include such watermarks as Aussie Rules, the 228’ Expedition Yacht built for Greg Norman. Among other advancements, the engineers at Oceanfast developed “keel coolers”, which are external hull radiators that exchange heat for onboard refrigeration. As opposed to hull-mounted radiators, that are prone to clogging as seaweed passes under the hull, the keel-mounted vents are in an area less likely for debris to be picked up. Simple and effective… the main protocol set forth by the owner of Sycara III. There are many materials that make up Sycara’s construction, but the primary structure consists of a steel hull and composite super structure. A steel hull provides the ultimate in breach security and a laminate super-structure offsets weight. The full displacement hull is essentially identical to another well-known work of art, Perfect Prescription. It is a shallow draft, displacement hull well suited for Caribbean operation and the shallow passages of the Bahamas.

The expedition like bow provides full-beam interior space forward of midship, with large vertically oval windows that are disguised by its flag blue hull. The window theme is carried aft on next deck level as well. While these windows look like design exercises, they actually offer better viewing perspectives than porthole, rectangular or horizontal windows, although these other styles are utilized too and they work together to create a unique abstract look that compliments the overall lines of the yacht. The forward deck on most yachts is generally reserved for stowage, windlasses, anchoring equipment, etc… and Sycara III is no exception. However, these utilities take a backseat to forward seating that includes sun lounges and sofas offering frontward views and the fresh air that ensues. The accommodations provided here are actually equal in size to the aft deck entertainment area, to the benefit of guests who often have a tendency to gravitate toward the bow in search of the best vantage point. A Jacuzzi is located on the top deck, but unlike other yachts, it is situated at the very front of the flybridge deck… directly behind the windscreen. Much like the foredeck accommodations, this is intended to offer a scenic viewpoint, while enjoying the same massage the hull gets when underway. To the aft of the Jacuzzi are three “high-seats” that resemble a throne, as they covered by an arch that supports navigation lights and antennas. These are the highest seated positions onboard and provide a near 360-degree view.

A prominent feature of the aft deck is the wrap-around exterior bar. It’s big enough to support the largest guest list and contemporary enough to be part of the interior decor. The bar faces aft and is accented by stainless bar stools. To the far rear of the aft-deck is a U-shaped sofa that is backed by a concealed crane. At first glance, there are no accommodations for a dinghy, until you notice the rails in the deck floor, that enable the sofa to slide forward providing space for a tender. This convertible feature truly maximizes the use of space and demonstrates the expertise gained from years of yacht building and the preliminary engineering that went into Sycara III. For the remainder of the support equipment, a concealed compartment on the transom garages a 22’ Novurania, along with swimming, diving and fishing gear. For the serious blue water fishing types, two teak fighting chairs can be attached to the swim platform.

Looking much like the interior of a European luxury car, the leather upholstered bridge is accenting by burl wood control stations. It features a captain’s chair that is integrated into a central command post with joystick control. The individual flat panel navigation displays, which are primarily Furuno based, are angled upwards for optimal viewing while overhead lights illuminate the controls and chart reading areas. A dinette is located to the rear of the captain’s station and elevated guest seats flank the bridge to port & starboard.

The lower aft deck has a unique floor-mounted porthole window integrated into the deck. It is located directly underneath the outside dining table and allows viewing to the deck below. Generous overhead top-hat lights provide illumination of the entire area.

Spanning the beam of the aft deck is wrap-around seating area with a dining table that can comfortably accommodate 10-12 guests. The ceiling porthole is directly above the center of the dining area.

A true, professional level galley is fully equipped and is large enough to keep a line of mess cooks busy. Stainless ovens and stoves with splatter walls are located to one side, while a granite topped preparation island runs the length of the galley. And to the opposite side, are cabinets, sinks and dish garnishing counters. To the rear of the galley are a full-size wine cooler, freezer and refrigerator. With the exception of the wood floors, this is a galley that could withstand years of use without showing any wear.

Oceanfast’s in-house design team was bestowed the job of complimenting Bannenberg’s architecture. The result is a contemporary and clean integration of neutral tones that provide a modern art-deco look. A wide range of materials and soft colors are used to create an engaging appeal. Entering into the salon, reflective ceiling panels add dimension to the room and display shelves of various styles are integrated around the perimeter. The foyer, always an initial entry area, is a prelude to the other interior compliments. It’s onyx floors are the bases for a stainless circular-staircase that leads to the next level deck. Again, clean and simple… but arty and modern.

Much of the entertainment equipment is cleverly hidden, which contributes to Sycara’s organized ambiance. The lounge for example, has a flat screen television that drops down from the ceiling and a piano that pulls out from a cabinet.

The master stateroom faces the aft deck and features a sitting area with a panoramic view astern.

The master bathroom runs nearly full beam. It features two showers, his & her sinks and a centrally located whirlpool. The wood floors, a contrast to typical tile, gives a down-home feel.

One of several guest staterooms, this VIP room is spacious and comfortable in ambiance.

One of the first things you’ll notice as you make your way down the diamond plate ladder to the engine room are the strobe lights and loud speakers prominently mounted on a central pedestal. These three lights are green, yellow and red. Or… go, go slower and don’t go at all! An eye in the sky is mounted on the ceiling providing a 360-degree view of the operating systems. Smartly, mirrors are strategically placed around the interior walls to monitor areas normally obstructed by the camera’s view. What are not hidden from the lens in this picture are the twin 1750hp Caterpillar 3512B HD diesels. These power plants drive 5-bladed nickel-aluminum-bronze props and provide a 14-knot cruise speed. At 10 knots, Sycara can cover 5500 nautical miles. Missing from this picture are twin Cat 175 kw generators. The reason they are absent is because they have been delegated their own soundproof room. Think about this… being able to work in the engine room w/o shore power or earmuffs. That’s a beautiful thing... and so is Sycara III. (end)

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht screamed 'I will kill you' and threw $100 bills into the water when told he couldn't use a private dock

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee after being told he couldn't be there, the San Diego-based broadcaster CBS8 reported on March 11.

Joseph Holt, a 21-year-old employee at Marriot Marina in San Diego, told CBS8 that he spotted the yacht sailing into the private dock. The owner, whom CBS8 identified as Ajay Thakore, tried to pick another person up at the dock, Holt said.

"I told him respectfully that he couldn't be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat," Holt told CBS8.

In a YouTube video posted by @SM-wc9eq on March 10, a dark blue Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is seen sailing out of a dock. A man in a gray T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a cap was shown standing on the yacht. The man appeared to be Thakore, per CBS8.

Thakore was shown shouting at Holt. "I will kill you, you know I will kill you!" he can be heard saying multiple times in the video

Thakore was later shown pounding his fist on his palm and pointing his thumb down before telling Holt: "To your face!" Holt was shown responding by pointing his middle finger at Thakore.

"I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird," Holt told CBS8.

Holt said Thakore then took $100 bills from his wallet and threw them at him. He added that Thakore mooned him. This exchange was not shown in the video.

"He was saying I'm nobody, I'm nothing, I work a silly job. He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it," Holt said. Holt did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

The San Diego Harbor Police arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore's yacht exited the dock, per CBS8.

The Harbor Police told Business Insider that Holt decided to press charges against Thakore and that they are investigating the incident.

According to Thakore's LinkedIn page , he's the CEO of Doctor Multimedia. The company's website shows that it's a healthcare marketing firm based in San Diego. Thakore appears to go by the name Ace Rogers on Instagram and TikTok, where he's noted as being a professional gambler.

Thakore, through his public relations team, told CBS8 in a statement that his altercation with Holt was "regrettable."

"What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange," the statement said. Thakore did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.

Thakore isn't the only CEO who's been called out for threatening another person. In November 2021, an Activision spokesperson told BI that its ex-CEO Bobby Kotick had previously apologized for telling his assistant he would have her killed. The spokesperson added that Kotick's threat was "obviously hyperbolic and inappropriate" and that "he deeply regrets the exaggeration and tone."

In June 2020, Lisa Alexander, the CEO of LaFace Skincare, a cosmetics company, apologized in a statement to the media after she had threatened to call the police on her neighbor for writing "Black Lives Matter" on his property. Alexander said in the apology that she was "disrespectful" and "should have minded my own business."
