Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Captain Tom Gorsline

Captain Tom is a licensed U.S.C.G. Master Captain with an Auxiliary Sailing Endorsement.   He has over 26 years of sailing experience on the Chesapeake Bay and on the Great Lakes and Grand Traverse West Bay.  Tom, along with his wife, Teri, owns BAYLIFE a Catalina 34 mkII and they actively sail on West Bay and spend weekends anchored at Power Island. Tom and Teri are the owners and publishers of BAYLIFE Magazine of Traverse City and are also members of the Grand Traverse Yacht Club, the hub of the vibrant sailing community of Traverse City.  

VIP Cruise Offerings

We excel in exceeding your expectations and all private cruises can be customized for a VIP treatment for romantic sunset cruises, anniversary, birthdays, bridal parties and special occasions.  We furnish a BBQ grill, dining plates, beverage glasses and flatware, to ensure an enjoyable and memorable dining experience for your private party. BAYLIFE is a beautiful and spacious Catalina 34 MKII sailboat that features a large and comfortable seating area and walkthrough transom to access the swim deck and ladder to access the water for swimming.  The lower interior galley and salon provides privacy and spacious room to get out of the sun or private space for relaxing or changing into swim wear.  The onboard restroom (head) features a electric flushing toilet for convince and comfort. 

2-Hour Private Day Cruise on Grand Traverse West Bay - Only $299, price includes private sail for 2 guests, each additional guest add $50 up to 6 guest total.  Bookings available everyday(Monday thru Sunday)  Day Cruise 1 pm -3 pm, 4 pm -6 pm.

CRUISE SCHEDULE

Established in 1998, the Nauti-Cat has brought enjoyment to many all over the world. Taking everyone from old salts to first-timers, you find yourself relaxed and realizing why you’re on vacation — to be here on the water in West Grand Traverse Bay. Cruises range from 1.5 to 2.5 hours long, depending on the time of day.

Took the noon cruise. Crew was great. Boat was very clean. . Wonderful day for a cruise. Rum drinks are delicious. Very nice time with friends. Totally relaxing sail. Thought it was really neat that the Nauti-Cat was run by family and friends through the years.

Welcome to Traverse City's Duncan L. Clinch Marina. Our marina is owned and operated by the City of Traverse City and governed by the policies of the Michigan State Waterways Commission, a division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. All our guidelines follow our grant-in-aid agreement with the Michigan State Waterways Commission and City regulations.

In 1933 an Ordinance was enacted by the City Commission to provide for acquiring and constructing a municipal harbor. The City Clerk wrote to the War Department to request a permit to construct a breakwater and boat wells adjacent to Clinch Park.

The City Engineer went to Washington D.C. in 1938 to attend a hearing on the breakwater. The hearing was successful and in 1939 the breakwater was built.

Traverse City's mayor appointed 5 local men to be on a harbor committee in 1958.

In 1960 the City Commission obtained an appropriation from the Waterways Commission to construct a marina. Since there were 2 private marinas - Darrow's and Murray's (older names now obsolete) the intent was to provide boat slips for out-of-town visitors. The marina was built in 1960-61 and was named Duncan L. Clinch Yacht Harbor.
