When you’re Magic Johnson, a simple European getaway just won’t do. You have to take in the continent by boat.

The NBA legend and entrepreneur is currently enjoying some time cruising around the Mediterranean onboard the Aquila , a 281-foot superyacht . And the Lakers great and his wife Cookie have invited along a star-studded group of pals, including Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool J, to join in on the experience.

Magic, who TMZ says likes to spend a month across the Atlantic each summer, has gone all out for his latest vacation. The Aquila is the largest boat built in the US since the 1930s, according to its Burgess charter listing . Originally developed by Derektor in 2010, the vessel sailed under the name Cakewalk until it was sold and completely refitted in 2016. The renewed, four-deck yacht has even more space from which its passengers can gaze upon cities like Corfu, Capri and Cervo, and is perfect for entertaining a one very large man and his family and friends.

The yacht has a massive owner’s suite with a massage room, salon and private deck that overlooks the bow, along with six other spacious guest suites. There’s also a cinema room, gym, two more massage rooms. When it comes time for entertaining, there’s a saloon called the London Bar, a beach club at sea level and a dedicated party deck with its own DJ booth, AV system and smoke machine. The interior’s pièce de résistance, though, is a 36-foot “waterfall” chandelier that stretches from the sun deck to the lower deck.

Other amenities on the Aquila include a limousine tender, a deck jacuzzi, aquapark, trampoline and all the water toys you could ever want (think: jet skis, kayaks and wakeboards). The yacht, which has a 50-foot beam, is also manned by a crew of 28. It’s powered by two 3,306 hp MTU engine and has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

As you may have guessed, a boat like this doesn’t come cheap. The superyacht is reportedly worth over $150 million . Johnson is only chartering the vessel, but even that will set him back nearly €1 million (or about $1.2 million) a week, according to the listing. One thing is clear: No. 32 loves spending time on the Aquila . In fact, this isn’t his first time he’s rented the vessel. He also took it out on vacation back in 2019, according to TMZ . And honestly, who can blame him?

Magic Johnson’s Children Join Him On Yacht Vacation In Europe: ‘Nothing Like Quality Family Time’

Magic Johnson and his wife, Cookie, are enjoying a lavish vacation in the Mediterranean Sea. For the occasion, the couple rented the Lürssen PHOENIX 2, a 295-foot yacht inspired by Art Deco style from 1930s New York.

The couple embarked on the charter boat earlier this month, kicking off their tour across the region. They stopped by several coastal towns, including Antibes in France, as well as Italy’s Portofino, Capri, Positano and Nerano.

Johnson has been sharing updates of his vacation with his fans via social media. On Sunday, the Hall of Famer shared family photographs shot on deck – sharing that his children joined him on the yacht.

“Cookie and I are excited to have our kids Andre, EJ, Elisa, our daughter-in-law Lisa and grandkids Gigi and Avery join us on the yacht!” he captioned a post .

Johnson has been exploring local cuisine and shared snapshots of himself enjoying the region’s fine dining, including freshly caught sea bass, pasta, pizza and Positano lemons.

“It’s nothing like quality family time and Cookie and I are just thrilled that God blessed us with an amazing and awesome family,” he wrote in an Instagram post .

Last week, Johnson invited several familiar faces onto the yacht, which included Samuel L. Jackson and his wife LaTanya Jackson, Judge Greg and Linda Mathis, John and Vicki Palmer, as well as Yvette and Michael Jordan, whom he referred to as the “greatest basketball player to ever live.”

Some of the couples indulged in a 1970s-themed party onboard. Guests dressed in disco-inspired outfits, which included flared pants, bright patterns and oversized sunglasses.

“The other night, the Phoenix II crew did an amazing job of throwing us a 70s party! We all dressed up and had a blast!!” Johnson shared in an Instagram post .

They renamed the yacht the “soul boat” for the occasion.

Magic Johnson is partial to the high-life - swimming in the riches of a fortune estimated at $620million.

So, it's no surprise that when he takes a holiday he goes away on a $138m superyacht - that is available to hire for an eye-watering $1m-a-WEEK.

The LA Lakers legend spends his summers enjoying exotic coastlines on board the incredible Aquila.

Johnson, 63, took the vessel on his summer holidays in 2022, where he took in the sights of Greece.

Size matters.

The Aquila is huge.

At 281-feet long, it's the largest yacht to be built in America since the 1930s - and no expense was spared in turning it into a 'party boat'.

After all, the sun deck boasts a spacious jacuzzi, a day bar, as well as a massage room.

But there's also room for a DJ - with a booth, an AV system, smoke machine and light show ready to use - yes, it's a superyacht with its own nightclub.

Up to 12 guests can stay at one time - with the Aquila able to be manned by a 28-strong crew.

From a design aspect, the most surreal and aesthetically pleasing feature of the Aquila is a waterfall chandelier that drops down four levels from the sun deck down to the lower deck - that just adds to the yacht's opulence.

Another cool addition is the outstanding cinema room that features an enormous 85-inch screen.

The master cabin, or as it is known as the 'owner's deck', features his/hers ensuite and a study, as well as a salon.

There are a further six cabins that all offer space and comfort to the highest specification.

On top of that, guests can work out in the Aquila's fully-equipped gym.

FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES

In 2021, Magic was joined by a host of pals, including LL Cool J and Steve Harvey for a trip of a lifetime - a cruise around the Amalfi coast.

Before that, he's been seen visiting jet-set destinations as glam as Corsica, Cannes, Sorrento and Monaco.

The basketball legend and his famous guest jumped off their yacht for Sardinia, lunching at the Cala di Volpe Hotel.

As we reported, Magic's annual summer trip has been goin' down for nearly a decade, and this year's yacht is truly spectacular -- "Phoenix2," a 296-foot ship that rents out for $1.2 mil a week!

The yacht has everything ... an outdoor theater, swimming pool, gym, and multiple jacuzzis.

The star couple invited their children, Andre (Magic's son from a previous relationship) and his wife Lisa, as well as son EJ and daughter Elisa, and their grandchildren Gigi and Avery, along for the fun. They all joined the mega yacht the Johnson's commissioned for the vacation as it made its way to Positano, Italy.

"Cookie and I are excited to have our kids Andre, EJ, Elisa, our daughter-in-law Lisa and grandkids Gigi and Avery join us on the yacht!," he wrote about the arrival of their brood.Johnson's kids have also been posting photos and Instagram Stories of themselves soaking up the sun on the yacht, enjoying some boating and serving fierce looks (you already know we're talking about EJ with that last one).

As mentioned, summertime doesn't begin for Johnson until he's enjoyed his annual extravagant vacations on the water . He previously discussed the joy he finds in the trips, including learning about the history in the cities they stop in, and just by immersing himself in sightseeing and relaxation.

“I work hard and then I look forward to those five weeks in Europe or other places,” Johnson shared. “I told my wife a long time ago, let’s go when we don’t have to worry about coming back, so we can take our time and really enjoy it. Owning my own company allows me to be able to do it. I work hard and when I’m on vacation I want to be on vacation.”

And boy is he on vacation! We love that the couple include their friends, and even their family, to experience the world. Work hard, play harder!

Magic Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson Still On Gorgeous Yacht Vacay

Magic Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson are living the good life.

Name a more iconic duo than NBA great Magic Johnson and Marvel movie maven Samuel L. Jackson. The two have been enjoying a long vacation on a yacht in Sardinia, an island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is the second largest island in the sea, right behind Sicily, and it's just big enough to harbor the massive yacht the celebrities are relaxing on. Magic Johnson is renting the yacht at an exorbitant $1 million per week, and they are about to enter week two of the vacation extravaganza.

The two are on summer hiatus after busy starts to their 2023. For Magic Johnson, the Laker legend was looking to make a bid for the NFL team, the Washington Commanders, as part of an investment group. If the deal were to get pushed through, he will be part of the group that owns the franchise for a record-breaking $6.05 billion price tag. Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson is coming off filming for the Marvel TV series Secret Invasion , currently streaming on Disney+.

Magic Johnson & Samuel L. Jackson Soaking Up The Sun

Samuel L. Jackson is also coming off filming the sequel to Marvel's 2019 movie Captain Marvel , aptly named The Marvels. At 74 years old, the man deserves a break, and he's doing exactly that on a yacht in Sardinia. During his time with Magic, Jackson has been receiving acupuncture and cupping treatments to help relieve him of some physical soreness. This is to set him up for more filming, as the prolific actor is under contract for four upcoming features within the next year.

Johnson and Jackson jumped off the mega-yacht for some Italian grub at the Cala di Volpe Hotel. Magic has taken this annual trip for almost a decade straight, renting the "Phoenix2," which measures 296 feet long. The yacht has everything you could ever ask for: an outdoor theater, swimming pool, jacuzzis, and a gym. No word on when -- if ever -- the two of them will disembark the Phoenix2. For now, they're enjoying the time off.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers legend posted a characteristically goofy yet luxurious video showing the 61-year old lifting weights while on a nifty-looking boat in the Greek Islands:

Johnson, as per annual tradition, has kept his followers extremely up to speed with his travels through the Ionian Sea since arriving, including a swing by the Old Fortress of Corfu (a solid fortress).

The five-time NBA champion and hyper-successful business mogul has dropped serious dimes on his summer excursions, dating back to 2008 , at least. A few notable tidbits:

In 2011, Johnson and his best buddy and frequent travel partner, Samuel L. Jackson — along with their wives, Cookie and LaTanya Richardson Jackson — stopped by Portofino, where Johnson discovered that Italians like basketball, too.

‘I didn't realize Italians love basketball just as much as we do in the US,” he wrote on Facebook. “Almost everyone in Capri lined up to take a picture with me!'

In 2015, Johnson dropped a mere $500,000 per week to sail around the Mediterranean with his son E.J., and Jackson. According to Boat International , Johnson rented the 230-foot motor yacht, Amadeus , owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault. Amadeus includes a movie theater and driving range and had been previously used by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Bono. It was on this trip that Magic began posting above-deck workout videos .

According to TMZ , Johnson rented the yacht for six weeks, totaling $3 million. Must be nice!

The next summer, Magic bought Cookie a 25-carat diamond ring for their 25th anniversary, which they celebrated in style in Monaco after beginning their summertime journey in Venice.

In 2017, Magic elevated his game, chartering 241-foot SIREN at $700,000 per week for a trip through the Mediterranean. (SIREN hilariously lists “download and print daily newspapers” as one of its special features, alongside two movie theaters and a beach club.)

Even more comically, Magic said he pushed back the '17 trip until August in order to go to Lakers Summer League (and not because his birthday and wedding anniversary are in August).

That August, the Johnsons and Jacksons cruised by Sorrento, Italy, and the Isle of Capri — a popular dock for summer super-yachters. While there, the Johnsons dined with Miami Heat owner (and Carnival Cruise chairman) Micky Arison.

From there, the Johnsons hit Ponte Cervo, another hoppin' destination for summer yacht parties. They also checked out Port of Bonifacio and returned to Portofino, which Magic dubbed his “favorite place in the world,” despite being confused on social media as “ lazy migrants ” by some deeply uninformed Italians (disclaimer: I am Italian).

The Johnsons then swooped through the French Riviera to visit some pals in Cannes, Antibes, and Monte Carlo, including Lionel Ritchie, Prince Albert of Monaco, and seven-time Formula 1 champ, Lewis Hamilton . At the end of the trip, he gifted the Amadeus crew with custom Lakers jerseys.

In 2018, Magic was back at it, enjoying the South of France and the Amalfi Coast with the Jacksons. Unlike the former pro athlete, Jackson was having no part of the gym on deck, though he was appropriately amped about Magic's birthday biscuit spread.

In July 2019, a month after Johnson abruptly stepped down as Lakers president, the Hall of Famer made the Leap: dropping $1 million per week to charter Aquila ,  a $150 million 281-foot mega-yacht, for a swing through the Amalfi Coast .  Aquila features a gym, nightclub, and movie theater, and jet skis, which Johnson enjoyed as Rob Pelinka rebuilt the Lakers.

Here he is on Aquila, hosting LL Cool J, ex-NFL QB Rodney Peete, and other friends for a lavish dinner. They also met up with Naomi Campbell , whose yacht was nearby (how fun!).

During one stop on his travels, Magic ran into the one human being in the world with a tattoo of a quote from his self-help book, 32 Ways to Be a Champion in Business : “Some people want it to happen. Some wish it would happen. Others make it happen.” Write that down.

Aquila stopped in Croatia before heading to St. Tropez for Johnson's star-studded 60th birthday bash on Pampelonne Beach. Among the guests: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez (RIP), Anthony Anderson, Spike Lee, and Pat Riley.

Johnson's trips — which he, E.J., Cookie, and Sam and seemingly every guest thoroughly document on social media — have become a prized invite amongst the elite, including Jimmy Kimmel. In 2018, Jackson joked about not inviting Kimmel due to their “no kid” policy on the boat.

That same year, Kimmel implored Johnson for an invite, once again, and, after being denied, began sharing photoshopped images of him and his wife alongside the Johnsons.

In the summer of 2020, the Johnsons wouldn't let a little global pandemic halt their Euro getaway. Instead, the Johnsons hopped back aboard Aquila to set sail around Croatia, docking in Split for a few weeks to visit world-class restaurants and national parks. The locals noticed.

It's a vacation fit for gods and kings, the likes of those who voyaged the same sea throughout Homer's The Odyssey.

And Magic Johnson's yearly expedition – a six-week tour through the Mediterranean via yacht – is costing him a fortune not far from that of an ancient emperor.

The former basketball star is paying $500k per week as he, his son EJ (now starring on Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills) and his BFF Samuel L. Jackson hop from island to island, seeing the sights and relaxing on deck, but mostly just eating gelato.

TMZ reported the numbers, which would mean that the total bill from the month-and-a-half summer vacation would come out to $3 million.

On board the 230 foot luxury liner is a staff of 19 crew members, attending to the nautical business and making sure that the guests are content.

Though aside from seasickness, it would be tough to be uncomfortable as the boat features a gym, movie theatre, sauna, bar area, multiple dining areas and even an automated driving range.

Another stop, another cone: Sunday saw the travelers stopping in St. Tropez as they did some shopping and, of course, grabbed another scoop of ice cream

The extravagant mini-mansion on water is called Amadeus and it's owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault.

Arnault rents out his boat throughout the year to some of the world’s wealthiest, including former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Bono having both enjoyed Amadeus in the past.

But Magic Johnson must be one of Arnault’s more loyal customers, as he’s been renting the out the boat for the past seven years.

Already two weeks into the journey, Magic and his family and friends have been seen in St. Tropez, Portofino, and just lounging on the deck.

Magic’s son EJ – star of E!’s Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills – has been spotted relaxing on the yacht as he has taken to Instagram to share photos of himself.

But best-buddies Magic and Sam Jackson like to stretch their legs as they stop at different ports and sample the local cuisine, namely different ice creams.

The basketball star and film icon have appeared together on multiple occasions as they chow down a cone of gelato.

Inside the $1.2 Million-a-Week Superyacht Magic Johnson Chartered for His Summer Vacation

When you’re Magic Johnson, a simple European getaway just won’t do. You have to take in the continent by boat.

The NBA legend and entrepreneur is currently enjoying some time cruising around the Mediterranean onboard the Aquila , a 281-foot superyacht . And the Lakers great and his wife Cookie have invited along a star-studded group of pals, including Samuel L. Jackson and LL Cool J, to join in on the experience.

Magic, who TMZ says likes to spend a month across the Atlantic each summer, has gone all out for his latest vacation. The Aquila is the largest boat built in the US since the 1930s, according to its Burgess charter listing . Originally developed by Derektor in 2010, the vessel sailed under the name Cakewalk until it was sold and completely refitted in 2016. The renewed, four-deck yacht has even more space from which its passengers can gaze upon cities like Corfu, Capri and Cervo, and is perfect for entertaining a one very large man and his family and friends.

The yacht has a massive owner’s suite with a massage room, salon and private deck that overlooks the bow, along with six other spacious guest suites. There’s also a cinema room, gym, two more massage rooms. When it comes time for entertaining, there’s a saloon called the London Bar, a beach club at sea level and a dedicated party deck with its own DJ booth, AV system and smoke machine. The interior’s pièce de résistance, though, is a 36-foot “waterfall” chandelier that stretches from the sun deck to the lower deck.

Other amenities on the Aquila include a limousine tender, a deck jacuzzi, aquapark, trampoline and all the water toys you could ever want (think: jet skis, kayaks and wakeboards). The yacht, which has a 50-foot beam, is also manned by a crew of 28. It’s powered by two 3,306 hp MTU engine and has a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

As you may have guessed, a boat like this doesn’t come cheap. The superyacht is reportedly worth over $150 million . Johnson is only chartering the vessel, but even that will set him back nearly €1 million (or about $1.2 million) a week, according to the listing. One thing is clear: No. 32 loves spending time on the Aquila . In fact, this isn’t his first time he’s rented the vessel. He also took it out on vacation back in 2019, according to TMZ . And honestly, who can blame him?

Inside Magic Johnson’s Yacht – $500k-a-week Superyacht Amadeus

When Basketball star  Magic Johnson vacations, he does it in style!

He is currently renting the stunning 230ft/70m superyacht Amadeus in the Mediterranean with his BFF Samuel L. Jackson and his son EJ (star of the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills !)

Amadeus costs over $525,000 a week to rent, and according to sources, the long-time buds are renting the yacht for 6 weeks! …Yes, that’s a bill of over $3 million (not including all the extras!) – but this is no trouble to Magic and Samuel, who have a combined net worth of around $670 million (Magic makes up $500 mill of this!)

The luxury yacht is reported to be owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault, who has let celebs including Bono rent it out in the past.  Originally built as a research boat, it now offers luxuries including a 14-person movie theater, a grand piano, an elevator, gym, jacuzzi and a golf driving range (!)

Magic’s son EJ, who has recently lost a ton of weight, showed off his weight loss at the yacht’s tee area! Go EJ!

Over the past 2 weeks, Magic and and Sam and their families have been seen visiting Italy, Corsica and Monaco during their stay on luxury yacht Amadeus. The group were also spotted  celebrating the 4th July on board, and enjoying some gelato and shopping whilst shopping in St. Tropez!

Most recently they have been seen hanging out with Formula 1 World Champion and fellow yacht-lover Lewis Hamilton  on Amadeus whilst enjoying their time in Monaco!

The B-ball player and EJ have been sharing snaps with their Instagram followers throughout their hol, with Magic boasting over  75k followers and EJ bossing it with of 380k followers of his lavish selfie’s!

Magic also took advantage of the incredibly gym facilities – including a sundeck treadmill (!) – to keep in shape on board. Magic shared a pic with the caption, “Even though I’m on vacation, I’m still working out everyday!”

Looks like one amazing vacation!

Magic Johnson just turned the big 6-0 and celebrated in style with family and friends aboard a yacht. The basketball legend and his wife shared photos from the lavish affair with emotional words.

Birthdays come once in a year and should be celebrated, but when you’re worth hundreds of millions of dollars, you get to take things to a whole different level.

Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. turned 60 on August 14 and although he marked the occasion with only family and a few friends, the birthday bash most likely cost a decent sum.

The former L.A. Lakers legend took to a yacht with his wife, Cookie Johnson, sons Andre and EJ, and daughter Elisa. He posed with all four and Andre’s wife, Melissa for a family photo with the caption :

“A blessed birthday indeed with the greatest birthday present in the world, my family. Thank you again to the amazing Aquila crew!”

LOVE FROM THE WIFE

Cookie also shared pictures from the birthday trip. In one shot, she rocked a yellow dress while leaning against her man, who also looked casual in a green t-shirt.

“Celebrating My Love,” she wrote . Happy Birthday, Earvin.”

The yacht was decorated with colorful balloons and a banner that said in All-Caps: “Happy birthday Magic Johnson.” There was also a modest white cake topped with a throwback pic of a young Magic during a Lakers game.

What was most touching, however, was Cookie’s birthday tribute to her husband of almost three decades. “You’ve come a long way, baby!!!” she captioned a photo gallery with one throwback pic of Magic and another of the couple at an event.

HEARTFELT TRIBUTE

Cookie continued:

“I thank God for blessing you with 60 amazing years, full of dreams you have accomplished, new ones on the horizon, and helping so many along the way, God has so much more for you, as long as you continue to walk in His purpose. I am so proud to be a part of 42 of those years, I love you to pieces. Happy Birthday my Love.”

THE COOKIE-MAGIC JOURNEY

The Johnsons have even more reason to celebrate. In less than a month, Magic and Cookie, 60, will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary.

The couple tied the knot in a small wedding on September 14, 1991, and has faced several challenges without losing each other or their marriage. The first was not too long after their wedding when Magic broke the news of his HIV diagnosis to Cookie.

“It scared me to death. I mean, I fell to my knees,” she recalled during a 2016 “Good Morning America” interview. “We both fell on our knees, and we started crying.”

DEALING WITH HIV

At the time, Cookie was pregnant with their first child and would eventually heave a sigh of relief when the HIV tests came back negative for her and their unborn son.

Despite Magic telling his wife he’d understand if she decided to leave him, Cookie stayed by his side. Together, they launched the Magic Johnson Foundation to combat HIV and on June 4, 1992, welcomed their first child, Earvin “EJ” Johnson III .

DEALING WITH DIFFERENT

Magic and Cookie’s next big challenge would arise when they realized their son was different. From a young age, EJ would rather play with dolls and dresses than with toy trucks.

Over the years, it became clear to Magic and his wife that their son was not just going through a phase. It was easier for Cookie to accept that EJ was gay, but for the man many consider as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, the story was different.

Last year, during an appearance on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Facebook series, “ Red Table Talk ,” Cookie recalled her husband’s initial reaction:

“My husband is the kind of person like he reacts quickly. Everything that came to the top of his head, he just let it out. It hurt my feelings and I know it probably hurt [EJ’s] feelings.”

WORKING IT OUT

Not too long after, however, Magic came around, and by the time EJ would come out as gay in 2013, the reality star had his entire family’s support.

“You gotta support your child because there's so many people who try to discriminate against them,” Magic said on “ The Ellen DeGeneres Show ” in 2017. “If you don't support ‘em, who's gonna support ‘em and love them? It's all about loving them no matter who they are.”

Magic is also a supportive dad to Andre , who was born in 1981 from a previous relationship, and Elisa , who he adopted in 1995 with Cookie.

Magic Johnson's 3 Kids: Everything to Know

The former Lakers star is a father to three: sons Andre and EJ, and daughter Elisa

Magic Johnson might be a legendary basketball player, but to his three kids, his most important role is dad.

The retired point guard welcomed his first child, son Andre, 43, with ex-girlfriend Melissa Mitchell in 1981. Magic also shares two children with his wife Earlitha "Cookie" Johnson : son EJ, 31, and daughter Elisa, 29.

Over the years, Magic and Cookie have been open about their responsibilities as parents — like when Magic told Ellen DeGeneres that he was "so happy" when their son EJ came out as gay.

"It's all about you not trying to decide what your daughter or son should be or what you want them to become," he said. "It's all about loving them no matter who they are, what they decide to do."

Magic and Cookie have shared lots of fun moments with their family over the years, including a July 2023 yacht trip with their children and grandchildren in the Mediterranean. The NBA legend shared a photo on Instagram of the group posing on the deck of their boat as well as a snap of himself and Cookie standing together.

”Cookie and I are excited to have our kids Andre, EJ, Elisa, our daughter-in-law Lisa and grandkids Gigi and Avery join us on the yacht!” Magic captioned the post .

Andre Johnson, 43

Magic and ex-girlfriend Mitchell welcomed their first and only child together, Andre Johnson , on Feb. 20, 1981.

Out of all of Magic's children, Andre is the most private. He has built a career in business and entrepreneurship — he even worked for his father's investment company, Magic Johnson Enterprises, according to Men's Health . In 2022, he became an executive vice president of business development at SimWin Sports , a digital sports league.

Andre is also a co-host of the podcast Please Elaborate , on which he and Mike Dupree discuss current events and culture.

He's a father, raising two children with his wife Lisa, whom he's been with since 2010 . The family of four showed off their Halloween costumes on Instagram in 2022, with Andre dressing as Uncle Drew.

The business executive celebrated Father's Day in 2021 by sharing a photo with Magic. "Thank you for being an amazing father to us and pop pop to Gigi and Avery," he wrote. "I love you and pray that you get some much deserved rest on your special day."

Earvin "EJ" Johnson III, 31

Magic and Cookie welcomed their son Earvin "EJ" Johnson III on June 4, 1992. EJ was named after his father and grandfather.

EJ publicly came out as gay in 2013, though he came out to his family several years earlier. Since then, he has starred on two reality shows: Rich Kids of Beverly Hills and EJNYC .

Magic and EJ have both been open about how his coming out wasn't easy . In 2014, EJ told PEOPLE that, although his parents "pretty much already knew" that he was gay, they were worried about the public's reaction. "My mom didn't want me to be scrutinized," he explained. "I just told them I'm going to do what I want regardless of what people say."

EJ added of his relationship with Magic, "He saw me grow into myself, and we've really come full circle with each other," with his father adding: "He is courageous and strong enough to let the world know who he is."

In an episode of EJNYC , EJ shared that seeing Caitlyn Jenner come out as trans in 2016 made him ponder his own gender identity. "I thought about it, for sure," EJ said. "I was just like, 'Well do I want to transition? Is this something that I would do?' But I don't feel incomplete in that way. I don't feel the need to do that."

He has also been open about how having a famous dad has impacted his personal life. In 2018, EJ told Red Table Talk 's Jada Pinkett Smith that he had encountered a lot of men who were only interested in meeting Magic and his proximity to fame.

"It's always been a struggle. There's so many factors," he said. "First of all, the celebrity thing — who are you here for, are you dating me or are you trying to date my dad? These men either just want to be there for one thing and then don't want to stay for the real relationship part, or they just want to ride the wave and be bougie and go out and have their picture taken and do all of that."

In 2019, EJ spoke about his gender-flexible fashion — and how he has no plans to transition . "I always say that if you feel like you're not in the right body, then by all means get to where you want to be," he said. "I don't feel the need to transition. I'm almost 100 percent positive I won't. I'm just very comfortable in my own skin. I like my body."

Magic spoke about EJ's gender expression ahead of the 2022 documentary They Call Me Magic . In an interview, the proud dad recalled that EJ's journey inspired Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union with raising their daughter Zaya Wade . "Be who you want to be, we gonna love you regardless, we gonna support you," Magic said of EJ.

Union was thankful that her family could turn to the Johnsons for support. "They gave us the blueprint. And literally, every step of the way ... they have been there," she said. Wade added, "And to see EJ do the same thing to Zaya, it was amazing."

Magic praised EJ's professional life in a March 2023 interview with PEOPLE. "I think that EJ is really taking charge of his career and making his own decisions, and he knows how and what he wants to get into."

The athlete added that his son "is so beloved all over the world."

In June 2023, Magic marked EJ's 31st birthday by posting sweet photos on Twitter of himself with EJ and Cookie.

"Happy Birthday to my son, EJ," Magic wrote in the caption. "I love your pure heart and creativity! Keep living your truth, it’s what I love about you most! Have a great day!"

Meanwhile, Cookie celebrated EJ's birthday by sharing a throwback photo of her son on Instagram as well as some current snaps. "Happy birthday, my @ejjohnson_! You are my great love! I pray that the Lord will have favor on you and bless you abundantly in your 31st year," she wrote.

Elisa Johnson, 29

Elisa Johnson was born on Dec. 21, 1994. Magic and Cookie adopted Elisa when she was just 3 days old.

In a 2016 interview with CR Fashion Book , Elisa recalled that her childhood with famous parents was as normal as it could be. "I was born and raised in Los Angeles," she said. "My parents adopted me when I was 3 days old, but I never felt out of place growing up. I was completely immersed in the L.A. lifestyle for all of my childhood and teenage years: shopping, eating on Sunset Boulevard, occasional trips to Malibu and hanging out with all my closest friends. Now, I'm living in Manhattan and I love it because everything is so much more accessible."

Elisa joined her brother EJ on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills , appearing as a friend of the cast. In the years that followed, Elisa became passionate about advocacy, just like her parents — Magic has been an advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness since opening up about his own HIV diagnosis in 1991.

"It's really important to me to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS," she told CR . "I hope [in 10 years] I'll be able to help educate people about it. The biggest stigma with my age group is that people believe that it can't happen to them, which couldn't be more untrue."

In December 2018, Elisa and her friends survived a home invasion while on vacation in California. She later shared a photo that revealed she had been left with several scars that night.

"As women we tend to be very hard on ourselves. Months ago, I escaped from a home invasion and in the process I was left with intense scaring on my stomach," she wrote. "Until now I've been so afraid to show these scars, and incredibly insecure about the way I look. But I now realize these scars are a part of my journey, and tell the story of who I am. I love my body, and I am proud to be in the place I am today 😍 #selfhealing."
