Sneak peek: Interior of Turquoise explorer Blue II revealed

BOAT International has revealed the secretive interior of the 56 metre Turquoise Yachts -built explorer Blue II for the first time ahead of publishing an exclusive feature on the yacht.

Previously known as Project Lombok, Blue II first hit the water in Istanbul in May 12, 2020 after which it spent the summer cruising the Mediterranean.

Blue II's interior décor was developed by Hoek Naval Architects in collaboration with British design studio  Vickers . 

The interior features subtly classic touches and teak detailing throughout, with intimate cosy indoor spaces contrasting with the expansive open decks. Guests on board have a wide range of relaxation options on board.

In total, this 56 metre explorer yacht has an internal volume of 785GT spread across four decks.

Blue II's exterior design meanwhile comes from  André Hoek . 

While Hoek’s design is reminiscent of classic steam ships, the yacht itself is packed with all the latest modern technology such as a diesel-electric propulsion system.

Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art satellite communications dome is integrated into the composite funnel, while the canoe stern conceals an extendable boarding platform with retractable stairs for ease of access.

You awake in one of two master suites, one on the upper deck with 180 degree views forward and the other on the main deck. Head for the upper deck aft for a delicious breakfast before settling in the sun lounge aft to discuss the day's plans with the captain. If the morning heat is too intense, start the day in the air conditioned main saloon at the formal dining table and make plans in the lounge opposite.

After breakfast, the children race eagerly down to the portside swim platform where the deck crew has prepared all the watertoys for a morning adrenaline rush. Other guests may choose to work out in the gym, or for an easier start to the day, head for the sauna and hammam where there is a massage table too.

In the afternoon, while the captain sails you to the next amazing destination, enjoy a movie in the main deck cinema lounge or catch up on some emails in the private owner's office on the bridge deck.

As dusk falls in your new anchorage, take in the spectacular sunset with a sundowner in the foredeck lounge and toast another amazing day before sampling the chef's gastronomic extravaganza on the upper deck aft.

The world’s second largest superyacht BLUE begins sea trials

Measuring around 160m (525ft), the luxury mega yacht BLUE has left Lürssen’s facilities in Bremen to begin sea trials.

First hitting the water in February 2022 when she made her way to the Bremen facilities for final fit-out, the superyacht is now heading to the North Sea to start her sea trials.

BLUE boasts an impressive volume of 15,320 GT ranking her the second-largest yacht in the world in terms of gross tonnage. She follows shortly behind superyacht DILBAR , who tonnage wise, is the biggest superyacht ever launched with a total volume of 15,917 GT.

While much of the project is still shrouded in secrecy, we do know that superyacht BLUE features naval architecture by Lürssen and that Terence Disdale Design created her sharp-looking exterior and interior design. 

All of the four upper decks feature a sizable alfresco entertaining area and there is also a swimming platform connected to a beach club on board, providing guests with seamless access to the water. Images of the megayacht also reveal a pair of helicopter landing sites; a large helideck at the bow and a smaller helipad aft. 

Expected to be completed later this year, her sea trials mark one step closer to her long-awaited delivery.

The 160-metre yacht BLUE has been given a contemporary exterior and a traditional, fresh interior design, both by Terence Disdale Design. Efficiency and the desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible were key drivers for the technology on board. BLUE is equipped with a highly efficient Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion Concept developed by Lürssen’s own engineering specialists. The yacht also has an electric Azimuth Pod Drive, which in electric mode can be used separately, or when the PTI units are engaged, with the two propeller shafts. In order to generate less noise and vibration and reduce nitrogen oxide levels, BLUE is completed with a state-of-the-art exhaust after-treatment system. Furthermore, the wastewater treatment plant is equipped with new membrane technology that allows the treated wastewater to be safely disposed of in ‘drinking water quality’.

QUANTUM BLUE Yacht – Elegant $250M Superyacht

The QUANTUM BLUE yacht was built by Luerssen at their Bremen shipyard in Germany.

She is 104 meters (341.2 ft) long and was designed by Alberto Pinto and Tim Heywood Design.

QUANTUM BLUE yacht interior

The French design house of Alberto Pinto is responsible for the interior furnishings of the QUANTUM BLUE yacht.

While Pinto himself passed away in 2012, his team of professional designers successfully carry on his legacy of bespoke yacht design.

He is known for his classical design choices and creates opulent layouts for his clients, all custom-made.

Although the exact details of the interior of QUANTUM BLUE are not known, it is assumed that the yacht looks similar to Pinto’s previous projects with a modern twist on traditional yacht interiors.

The vessel can accommodate fourteen guests in seven spacious cabins as well as eighteen crew members, which is not a large team considering QUANTUM BLUE is more than 100 meters long.

She has a spa, a gym, a cinema room, and a beautiful beach club on board, as well as separate crew and guest elevators.

Specifications

The impressive QUANTUM BLUE yacht is 104 meters (341.2 ft) long with a 16.8 meter (55.1 ft) beam and a 4.1 meter (13.5 ft) draft.

Her total weight lies at 4,341 tons, and she is powered by twin diesel MTU engines.

Her average cruising speed is 13 knots, but if needed, she can reach top speeds of 22 knots.

She features high-quality at-anchor stabilizers which ensure optimal comfort levels for her guests even during rough seas.

Tim Heywood Design Studio developed the elegant exterior of the QUANTUM BLUE yacht. The award-winning designer has worked on high-profile projects such as DILBAR in the past and is well-respected in the world of superyachts.

QUANTUM BLUE is all-white with four decks, all equipped with comfortable seating areas for guests.

A spacious beach club opens up onto the swimming platform aft of the vessel, allowing direct water access.

The yacht is equipped with a modern underwater lighting system and a large aluminum superstructure.

At the bow, a helipad enables the owner of QUANTUM BLUE to arrive and depart in style. Her top deck features a large jacuzzi providing exceptional views of the surrounding ocean.

The QUANTUM BLUE yacht was built for a price of US $250 million and incurs annual running costs between US $15 and 25 million. The yacht is currently not available for charter or for sale.

Motor Yacht

Project Blue is a 160m motor yacht currently under construction in Lurssen's Bremen shipyard in Germany.

Due to be delivered in 2023, 160m Project Blue is Lurssen's second-largest superyacht.

After her secretive launch on the 24th February 2022, very little is known about the specifications of, and the designers behind, this incredible German built vessel.

Project Blue is a custom motor yacht with a 21m beam, and an expected gross tonnage of 15,320 GT. Her other specifications are currently unknown.

Just had dinner at Aist in Moscow, really charming place, beautiful people, inspiring stories, women where super nicely dressed, we wondered if it was for the film festival or this is the myth about how groomed Russian women are. Food was good overall but what is not to miss are the cocktails and the khatchaburi! A kind of Russian heavy cheezy melty delicious pie! A real treat. The terasse on the roof is as charming, but you'd miss the action of the street around and the pople coming in and out, the golden Bentleys, the blue Rolls Royces, summer in the city of Moscow has never been more glamorous and trendy. Nice music, apparently they also host DJ's on certain nights. Service was great. Prices on the high side. But definetly a must. Apparently the owners of this restaurant own a whole bunch of these trendy restaurants. http://www.trendymoscow.com/tag/novikov-group/ I'll definetly check them all out. We we were visiting Moscow and staying at the Marco Polo and came across this restaurant down the street, where we saw Mercedes, Bentleys, a Ferrari, and decide to have early dinner where the beautiful Russia that were driving these cars were dining. We started out with a Russian beer and Vodka and also order a La Mode a drink with crushed ice lemon, oranges, strawberries.Very Pricey! It was excellent, on a hot evening, but very pricey. We ended up having dinner and ordered the fish that excellent cook perfectly. Beautiful people came and went so did the cars. The seafood was excellent so were the drinks. If you want a night of pleasure go to this restaurant. We had a excellent table for people watching, expensive car watching, good food. Expensive wine. Worth going again the next night!

excellent place to hang out in summer, especially the roof terrace in summer is somewhat unreal for Moscow, cool and fancy and lots of green around, and this in the very very center not far from pushkinskaya. kitchen is cool too, not cheap though)) and very nice cocktails .... expect no chance to grab a table on hot summer days

Served us warm oysters. And this was after the server had to check with the kitchen to see if there remained an of these delights. That evening I awaited the gastro surprise, but nothing happened...whew! Grilled octopus was inferior to that at Brix Wine Bar and twice as expensive. Downstairs, with all the smoke was packed. Upstairs, with the clean air, was empty. We sat upstairs with a view to the open kitchen. Wine selection is what I have learned to expect in Moscow, limited selection of reasonably priced wines, limited selection of outrageously priced wines. Very pretty place with attentive staff. I ordered the chef's special for that night, the roasted quail with spinach and it was dried out tough and unappealing. I wonder if the same kitchen serves downstairs and upstairs...because the folks downstairs seem to be having lots of fun while the two upstairs were looking at an evening of the Moscow restaurant formula: big investments in the interior, but not in the food... Bummer

It is always a fantastic dining experience, from both socializing and having absolutely amazing dining experience. Fish is great, but probably the best borsch soup I ever tried

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
