The Brockville Yacht Club is located on the St. Lawrence River in Brockville Ontario at the gateway to the Thousand Islands. With a harbour accommodating over 130 boats, the Yacht Club is a major hub of boating traffic and enjoys an active membership consisting of sailors, power boaters and boating enthusiasts. Brockville itself is a city of 22,000 people with an especially vibrant array of attractions throughout the year.

BYC is located in the heart of downtown Brockville within walking distance of virtually every service a boater could need. Restaurants, parks, and shops are all within easy reach and many of Brockville’s most popular attractions are close by.

The Brockville Yacht Club offers an impressive array of services for members, reciprocal clubs and non-members, including a large harbour with 5 ton crane, workshop, hall and lounge space, sailing school and bar that serves lunch in the summer hours. Membership and Mooring Application

Read the following important information before completing the online application below

Application Procedure

All applicants will be considered by the Board of Directors and notified of the Board's decision within 2-4 weeks of submission. If further information is required, you will be contacted. Senior Voting and Family Voting membership applications will be interviewed by a member of the Board prior to full approval. By submitting the application below, if accepted as a member, you agree to pay the required fees and to observe the constitution and by-laws and regulations of the Club until such time that your written resignation is accepted by the Board. You will be invoiced when your application is approved and all fees ongoing are due when accounts are rendered (statements are sent out to members). In addition, you agree to participate on work parties, duty officer assignments and other volunteer activities.  

Wet Mooring Size Limitations Sailboats (Mono Hulls only) - Length** 34', Beam 11'0", Draft 5'6" Power Boats - Length** 34', Beam 12'0", Draft 3'0"

**Requests for variances on larger boats must be discussed with the Harbour Master. 

**Length excludes swim ladders, O/B, rudders, pulpits, and bow sprits unless excessive but includes moulded parts of the boat.

"Working Members' Club"

Shortly after your application is received, you will receive an email with a link to a skills/expertise inventory which is used to collect skills that member's have to offer to support the Club. Your application will be considered  after you have submitted the application as well as the skills inventory.

New Member Orientation As a welcomed member of the Club, we'll start you off right with orientation to the Club, how it works, what it has to offer and introductions. The New Member Orientation page has more details.

Personal Liability

Prospective members are reminded that evidence of adequate personal comprehensive liability insurance must be presented to the Membership Committee on the acceptance of their application for membership.

Club Liability Waiver

Each member of the Club shall bring his/her watercraft, motor vehicle, person, personal chattels, guests or otherwise upon the Club premises, water area or mooring at his/her own risk to fire, theft, accident, collision, or otherwise. Members specifically waive any liability or responsibility of themselves or their family, guests, crew or visitors and for any aforesaid ownership against the Club, or its directors or committees, or any member thereof, accepting the conditions of the Club's premises, buildings, grounds, walks, moorings, watercraft, and other facilities as is.

Brockville Summer Camps 2019

Whether you’re a Brockville resident or you’re visiting Brockville for a few days, sometimes it’s good to know where kids can go for a day, week, or month. Brockville has no shortage of summer camps with lots of great options.

This list continues to grow, and is listed alphabetically, so make sure you check back often to see what opportunities there are!

The Aquatarium have a series of great summer camps throughout the summer, starting from July 4th to August 30th. Camps have a variety of activities including exploring the aquatarium, going behind the scenes, crafts, games and experiments. Bethel Christian Reformed Church

The Bethel Christian Reformed Church is offering a free summer camp from August 12-16th from 9am until noon every day. The theme of this camp is “Journey to Athens With Paul” and will explore ancient Athens with the apostle Paul. For children ages 4-6, there are a variety of stations that the campers will get to enjoy each day. For the intermediate campers ages 7-11, they will get to choose an activity that they will be working on for 1 1/4 hours each morning. They will get to focus on that interest and develop skills in that area. Options include:

Boldt Dance Studio

If your child is in grades 1-6 and wants to dance, check out Boldt Dance Studio’s summer dance camps! Camps run from 8am-4pm. There are two running this summer: July 8-12th Monday – pet rock craft / . Brockville Gymnastics Academy

Brockville Gymnastics Academy will be running their 2019 Gymnastics Camp for kids aged 6 to 12 years old from July 2nd to August 30th, as well as their Movers and Shakers Summer Camps for children aged 2.5 to 5 years old. Each camp offers children the opportunity to work on a variety of gymnastics apparatus, and experience outdoor and afternoon activities from 8am to 5pm.

Brockville Rowing Club

Brockville Rowing Club has been offering its Summer Rowing Camp for over 40 years. It is the starting ground for many competitive athletes in the area, and was the gateway to rowing for more than 25 Canadian National Team rowers, over 30 scholarships to elite schools in the US, and has made hundreds of provincial and national champions. The camp teaches the fundamentals of rowing, and involves a lot of time on the water. The camp is for children ages 10-14 from 8:30am-noon, Monday to Friday. Brockville Theatre Camp

In its 6th year, Brockville Theatre Camp encourages kids to have fun exploring their theatrical side as they learn the ins and outs of theatre production. With two age groups available, your child will be able to learn all the essentials of theatre. Camps run from 9am to 3pm. The first week of camp is run at St.Lawrence College Musical Theatre campus, while week 2 is held at the Brockville Arts Centre’s Musi-theatre. Junior Company: Ages 6-8, this program introduces the fundamentals of musical theatre, including singing, dancing and acting. And of course, lots of games, crafts and silliness. Main Stage Company: Ages 9-14, this program focuses on more in-depth theatre skills and fostering proper technique. While singing, dancing and acting are the primary focus, participants will also experience all aspects of theatre, from make-up and costumes to sound and lighting. cost: Session 1 (July 2-12) – $420 + HST <– SOLD OUT Session 2 (July 15-26) – $450 + HST For more information and registration, check the Brockville Theatre Camp website .

Brockville Yacht Club

If your child is keen on learning about sailing, the Brockville Yacht Club will be offering their yearly sailing school. The sessions are each two weeks long, and run from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. The minimum age for sailing school is 7 years old as of December 31st, and there are students up to 17 years old. Cost: Wet Feet Program: $250 per one week session Can Sail 1-2: $500 per two week session Can Sail 3-4: $550 per two week session Can Sail 5-6 : $550 per two week session

And adults, this sailing school is special because there is an adult evening program as well! From July 15th to August 16th, 4:30pm-7:30pm, adults can learn to sail as well for $400. For more information, check out the Brockville Sailing School website .

Broadway Dance Academy

If your dancer just won’t rest during the summer, check out Broadway Dance Academy’s summer camps! There are a wide variety of options available for kids throughout the summer:

Option #1: All Day Program This camp runs on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from July 2nd to August 1st, 9am-4pm. Boys and girls ages 6-14 will get to learn singing, acting, jazz and hiphop, gymnastics tumbling, and will also get to make their own super hero cape! They will also perform songs and scenes from popular children’s movies and musicals. Cost: Per Day: $38

Option #2: Half Day Program Also running from July 2nd to August 1st on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, this camp is from 9am-2pm and is for children ages 3-6 years old. They will get to learn ballet, jazz, hiphop, gymnastics tumbling, singing, acting and mini beats (percussion instruments). Princess and super hero themed songs will be performed. Cost: Per day: $27

Option #3: Supertots Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:15am, this camp is for kids ages 3-6 years old. It’s a good introduction to creative ballet, gymnastics, jazz, hip hop and mini beats. Cost: Per day: $8

Option #4: Acro/HipHop Running on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30am-11:15am, this camp has two age groups: the juniors are ages 6-10 and the seniors are 11-14. This is a fun, high energy class that teaches jazz, hip hop, tricks and stalls, jumps and turns. Boys are not just welcome but encouraged to join! Cost: Per day: $8

Option #5: Intensive Classes with Evan Running Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am to noon, these classes teach jumps, turns, hiphop, jazz and tap. Cost: Per day: $32

Centennial Road Church

Centennial Road Church love kids as part of their family! The summer camp begins daily with a service worship together as a church family before being dismissed into their separate programs: Little Critters Nursery: Infant – 3 years old – A caring and nurturing environment where volunteers take care of and play with the littlest of campers. CritterLand: 3 years – Kindergarten – An exciting blend of creative learning, activities, crafts, Bible stories, songs and play especially for preschoolers. Big City Studio: Grades 1-5 – Kids experience teaching that gets them involved. Using media, drama, puppets, dance and music to introduce children to the Bible. Kids make friends through their groups with games, cooking, science experiments and crafts. Summer camp runs from July 15-19th, 9am-3:30pm. Charleston Lake

Get to learn about local nature and have fun at Sand Bay County Park all week! Camps run from 9am to 3pm, and are designed for children from 5-12 years old. These camps have been known to fill up quickly, so make sure you register quickly! There are three camps to choose from: Nature Camp: July 8-12 Adventure Camp: July 15-19 Sports Camp: July 22-26 Cost: Charleston Lake Association member: $80 a week Non-CLA member: $120 a week To learn more or to register, check the Charleston Lake Association website .

Frontenac Arch Biosphere

If being outdoors in nature is what your children love, the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Nature Camps at Mac Johnson Park are for them! Each week has a unique theme, and run right through the summer for children 5-12 years old. Week theme and cost: Leaf Through the Land (July 1-5) : $150 Rise and Shine (July 8-12) : $150 Rooting For Dirt (July 15-19) : $150 A Snail’s Pace (July 22-26) : $150 Nature’s Know How (July 29 – Aug 2) : $150 Dip In and Discover (Aug 5-9) : $150 Backpack The Biosphere (Aug 12-16) : $150 Soar Into Action (Aug 19-23) : $150 For more information and registration, check the Frontenac Arch Biosphere website.

Fulford Academy

Have a child that loves technology? Fulford Academy offers a tech camp for grades 5-8! Their 5 day camp runs from August 19th to 23rd, 9am-3:30pm, and will teach children how to create an app, how video games are developed, and how technology is changing the world. They also will have the added bonus of getting to know other children from all around the world! Teachers are Google-For-Education certified, so your children will learn all about the latest technology. Girls Inc will be hosting two different themes for their summer camps. The Girls Inc. programs inspire girls to be strong, smart and bold by providing an empowering girls-only space to explore, learn and grow in.

Good Shepherd Church

If you are looking for a summer camp late in the break, The Good Shepherd Church is offering a summer camp for children SK-Grade 6 (completed) from August 26-30th. This summer camp is free, and runs from 9am to noon. For more information or to register, please call Linda at 613-345-5717.

LifeFit Athletics

Lifefit Athletics believe that summer should be a time of play, and letting kids be outside. It is the basis of developing a live long enjoyment of physical activities. That is why they are hosting a series of summer day camps that have loads of outdoor activities, including walking excursions to the splash pad, the river, geocaching the Brock Trail, beach days at St Lawrence Park, and so much more! The weekly summer camp themes are as follows: O Canada! (July 2-5) Crazy Colours (July 8-12) Slip and Slide (July 15-19) Treasure Hunters (July 29-Aug 2) Brockville Survivor (Aug 6-9) Amazing Race (Aug 12-16) Balloons and Bubbles (Aug 19-23) Summer Favourites (Aug 26-30) The weekly camps are for ages JK to 13, and camp runs from 9am-4pm. Campers are required to purchase a camp t-shirt for $10 that can be reused for any days. If you register 5 days at once, this fee is waved. If you have a budding young athlete in the family, LifeFit Athletics also has a Sports Speed and Strength camp, learning specific drills that will increase their speed, agility and strength over short and long distances. These principles, mixed with fun and games, will strength the overall body resulting in stronger, less injury prone athletes. This camp is for ages 8-14, and runs from July 15-19th . Cost: Morning only (Speed and Agility) : $115+tax Full Day (Speed, Agility, Strength and Flexibility) : $220+tax Full Day – Morning (Speed and Agility) Afternoon (Lifefit summer camp): $210

Have a child who is determined to be on the Raptors starting lineup one day? LifeFit are running a Basketballs Skills camp! Led by Connor Kelly from Bishop’s men’s basketball and supported by LifeFit staff such as former Blazers scholarship award winner Colin Gartley, players are set for an amazing experience to develop at a high level while having an awesome time. Camp includes lots of court time, conditioning and fitness, as well as game time. Camp runs from 9am-3pm at Thousand Islands Secondary School. This camp is for ages 11-16, and runs from July 22-26th. Cost: Whole week: $250 + tax

Have a young girl looking to explore their leadership skills? LifeFit also have a camp for young girls 9-13 that will help explore and develop leadership, team building, and problem solving in athletic and fitness situations without the pressures that come from being a pre-teen or teen in today’s society. From deciding on the correct strategy in an organized game as a group, to leading a blindfolded friend with their voice, there are many ways to develop leadership skills in a safe environment. This camp runs from August 19-23rd. Cost: Whole Week: $220 + Tax

North Stone Farm

Does your child have a passion for horses and ponies? Let them fulfill any horse filled dreams at North Stone Farm’s pony camp! For children ages 7-16, they will be filly immersed in the equestrian experience through riding camp. Learn English horseback riding and trail riding, stable management, and also participate in arts and crafts, games and sports, and swimming! Camps this summer take place on July 1-5, 8-12, August 5-9 and 12-16, 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Rideau Lakes

If you have a child that needs to reconnect with nature, the Rideau Lakes Day Camp might be great for your children. Held at Sand Lake in Elgin from 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday, these camps are great for children ages 4-12 years old. With crafts, sports, games, swimming lessons, and free swim, canoeing, drama, special guests and trips, there will be no time to think about the electronic world out there – which is a good thing, as this camp is an electronics free zone! Session One Dinosaurs/Prehistoric Times Theme: July 2 to July 12 (9 days) Session Two Disco Dayz (Music from 60s to now): July 15 to July 26 Session Three Mystery and Detection: July 29 to August 9 (9 days) Session Four Magic Theme: August 12 to August 23 Costs vary depending on how many children are taking part and for how long, so please contact the Township of Rideau Lakes for more information. The registration deadline is June 21st.

St Lawrence Shakespeare

If your child has a love for the theatre, check out St.Lawrence Shakespeare’s summer drama boot camp! Running from August 5-10th, 10am to 4pm, this camp is for anyone from ages 8-16. Through the week, campers will participate in drama exercise, theatre games, workshops with actors, learn about Shakespeare, learn how to write a script and create a shop, and at the end, perform in the amphitheatre!

St Mary / JL Jordan Catholic School

St.Mary Catholic School will be running a summer fun camp from July 15-18th to raise money for their Guatemala Exposure Trip! There are only 30 spots available, and campers will get to have fun playing sports and doing crafts throughout the week while supporting a local school. Tallship Adventures

Have a child that is older and ready for adventure? The Bytown Brigantine Tall Ships Adventures might be up their alley! These camps are overnight summer camps, working on either the Black Jack or Fair Jeanne . Teens and tweens 12-14 can spend time on the Black Jack , exploring the 1000 Islands and spending overnight stops at forts, islands, beaches and historical places. Teens 14+ can stay aboard the Fair Jeanne , learning to sail, participating in festivals and exploring tall shops. They also can earn a summer school credit while having fun on the water!

The Pier Church River Club

Do you have a child who loves to be out on the water? Be sure to check out The Pier Church’s River Club! This year they are running two separate two day camps that will run July 22-23rd and July 24-25th. This free camp is for youth aged 11-17 who may not normally get the opportunity to go out on the river. They will have the opportunity to go water skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, wake surfing, fishing, island hopping, boating, swimming and kayaking, among other things. While campers are waiting their turn, they will be taking part in the On Shore program, hosted by the Pier Christian Church. Thousand Islands Baptist Church

If you’re looking for an affordable camp, Thousand Islands Baptist Church is a great option. Their summer camp runs from July 15-19th and is absolutely free for all 50 spaces available! Camp runs from 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, and will include activities such as crafts, sports and chapel time, and during the afternoons there will be supervised off site activities such as swimming, hiking and picnics in the park. On the last day of camp, there will be a closing ceremonies, where the campers’ families are invited to come see their kids perform songs they have learnt, and team and individual awards will be presented. There is even a barbecue on the Friday after the closing ceremonies! To register, visit the Thousand Islands Baptist Church website .

The YMCA of Eastern Ontario – Brockville will be hosting their summer day camps again this year at their Park Street location and at Brown’s Bay as well. The YMCA day camps offer a well rounded list of activities including swimming, crafts, sports and other activities.
