POLICY ON STUDENTS PAYMENTS & REFUNDS FOR THE THEORY (MODULES)

• To obtain the theory training for the 2, 5, 8, & 10 Day super yacht elementary courses an individual fee is required to be paid in full. Once the student has obtained these course modules there is a Non-refundable policy, however if for unforeseen circumstances should occur such as
• A family member bereavement or family member should get hurt badly.
• Student should hurt themselves badly or become critically ill
• Notification must be given in writing, email or by advising a Crew Pacific staff member in the office where the Crew Pacific course is being held. Students should consider the following notification periods as to what sort of refund they can expect.

PRINCIPLES – CREW PACIFIC COURSE CANCELLATION & FEES PAYABLE

• If Crew Pacific has insufficient bookings (numbers) to economically run a scheduled course, we reserve the right to cancel the course by notifying all students that their course has been cancelled. In an event that, Crew Pacific cancels a course, students are eligible for a full refund, or they can transfer to another course.

POLICY ON STUDENTS PAYMENTS & REFUNDS FOR THE PRACTICAL LESSONS 

• On the first day of the practical lessons the outstanding amount for the course you are completing will be required to be paid in full, this fee is Non-refundable policy, however if for unforeseen circumstances should occur such as
• A family member bereavement or family member should get hurt badly and you need to return home immediately.
• Notification must be given in writing, email or by advising a Crew Pacific staff member in the office where the Crew Pacific course is being held. Students should consider the following notification periods as to what sort of refund they can expect
• If Crew Pacific receives notification (In writing, by e-mail or by phone call) from a student that they wish to withdraw from a practical course, the amount of refund to be provided will be as follows.
• Notification more than 5 business days before the date of course  – 100% refund of course fee or transfer to another course at no cost.
• Less than 5 business days before the date of the course – 75% refund of course fee or transfer to another course at no cost.
• Less than 3 business days before the date of the course NO REFUND payment will be made by Crew Pacific, however you can transfer to another course date at no cost.  
• If Crew Pacific has insufficient bookings (numbers) to economically run a scheduled Practical course, we reserve the right to cancel the course by notifying all students that their course has been cancelled. In an event that, Crew Pacific cancels a course, students are eligible for a full refund, or they can transfer to another course.

NON-ATTENDANCE & NO NOTIFICATION WITH BUSINESS HOURS.

• If a student fails to not turn up to a class, no refund will be payable. Students need to be aware that leaving a message on the Crew Pacific office answering service outside of business hours where the course is held on the day before the course is not accepted as a notification of cancellation.
• If a student is sick on the day of their course, and can support this with a medical certificate, they will receive either a full refund or be transferred to alternate date at no charge but must be available to complete the training within six months of the original course date.
• If the student has failed to attend due to any other reason NO REFUND will be payable however a course transfer may be granted at the discretion of the Crew Pacific office.

STUDENT COURSE TRANSFER

A student may request a course transfer without incurring any administration fee but must consider the following conditions.

• Participants will only be permitted to transfer courses once and must complete the training within six months on the original date of enrolment.
• If a student failed to turn up to the scheduled course and can provide evidence to support the reason, they may be awarded one additional transfer. Evidence accepted includes a medical certificate, or evidence of death in the family. Subsequent course transfers granted to the students may incur a 10% transfer fee charged at the discretion of the Crew Pacific office.
• Once a subsequent transfer is granted, no further transfers or refund will be granted.

Students who are more than 30 minutes late for their scheduled transfer course will forfeit all rights to any further transfers or refund.

AMSA ENDORSED COURSE:

AMSA course is recognized by “Offshore Super Yacht & Australian Flagged Super yacht. This ticket is recognized in the following countries England, Europe, America, New Zealand and Australia, which means you can obtain work on BOTH offshore super yachts and Australian flagged Super yachts.

MCA ENDORSED COURSE:

MCA courses are only recognized by  “Offshore flagged Super yachts” NOT Australian flagged yachts. This ticket is recognized in the following countries England, Europe, America, which means you would be unable to obtain a job on an Australian flagged super yacht because AMSA does not recognize the MCA training.

New International Labour Organization report highlights how low-quality jobs are driving migration from smaller Pacific islands and calls for targeted policies for inclusive decent work.

SUVA, Fiji (ILO News) – Low wages, lack of opportunity and high levels of informal employment remain a challenge in parts of the Pacific despite resilient job growth, according to a new report from the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Pacific Employment and Social Monitor highlights how unemployment rates have returned to pre-pandemic levels across the Pacific, with nearly 800,000 individuals estimated to be unemployed in 2023, equivalent to an unemployment rate of 3.6 per cent. However, when excluding larger economies such as Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, the unemployment rate rises to 5.3 per cent, close to the global average of 5.1 per cent.

A key finding is the prevalence of low-quality jobs characterized by high levels of informality and relatively low wages in countries beyond Australia and New Zealand. These conditions have contributed to labour migration flows as individuals seek better economic opportunities elsewhere.

While job growth has been steady in many smaller Pacific Island countries, challenges persist, particularly for marginalized groups. Women, despite constituting a high share of the workforce, continue to face gender gaps, with higher unemployment rates than men. 

Additionally, youth unemployment remains a pressing issue, with high levels of young people not in education, employment tor training (NEET). Considerable differences exist across the region ranging from nearly 50 per cent in Kiribati to under 10 per cent in the Solomon Islands. Young women have consistently higher NEET rates than young men.

Although there has been a marginal decline in informal employment – from 35.9 per cent in 2010 to 34.7 per cent in 2023 – it persists at high levels, contributing to working poverty and job insecurity. Excluding Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, the informal employment rate (55.1 per cent) is very close to the global rate (58.0 per cent).

In light of these findings, the report underscores the importance of targeted employment and skills policies. Entrepreneurship promotion, social protection measures and adherence to labour standards are required to create decent jobs for all segments of society including women, youth and persons with disabilities.

"The disparities in wage levels and working conditions within the Pacific sub-region are considerable," noted Martin Wandera, ILO Country Director for the Pacific Islands. “We must strive to create inclusive, decent and attractive jobs in the national labour markets of Pacific Island countries while ensuring that the experiences of those who choose to migrate for work are positive,” he said. 

The Pacific Employment and Social Monitor for April 2024 was launched in Fiji on 24 April 2024 at the Pacific Tripartite High-Level Dialogue on Decent Work and the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.

I spoke to Mark about the booking and he was very helpful with descriptions and prices. Both my good friend and I rented the 32-person bus for our birthdays (December and February), and had a blast. Key points: 1. Mark was also the driver and is friendly, professional, and prompt 2. They will provide ice and cups on the 32 person bus, which saved me time when planning what to bring on-board 3. The bus is FUN with a lighting system, iPod hook-ups, and rails on the ceiling so you can dance and not fall over while the bus is moving 4. Not only is the bus fun, but it's sexy - with limo-style seating and looks top notch, unlike some other janky party buses I've been on My group was a bit of a handful, so I graciously thank PLY for everything. I had the best birthday EVER!

Mark was great to work with and even accommodated last minute changes to the itinerary. He additionally allowed us to stay an extra hour which was great because it allowed us to make it to our final stop. The land yacht itself was very cool with nice seats, a great sound system, and some really fun laser lights. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful time and I'd recommend Mark and his company to anyone thinking of renting a party bus!

Celebrating a friend's birthday, a group of 30, decided to rent the party bus & had an unforgettable night :) This is the most fun and safe way of partying since we could bring in our drinks, dance, chat amongst ourselves and get to our desirable spots. Mark was so informative and personable. All of the equipment was clean, up to date, and user friendly. If you are looking for a great time on a party bus, this is where to get it. Positively 5 stars!!!

After searching all over the Bay I came across Pacific Land Yachts. I emailed them and received a reasonable quote and decided to go with them for my 30th birthday party. Mark picked my friends up and he was very patient since most of my friends were already tipsy. We hired him for 5hours. We were picked up in San Jose and dropped off at a club in San Francisco and then he picked us again to take us back to San Jose. He was very attentive and corresponded with me during the week to make sure we would be ok getting into the club in San Francisco. The bus had a bathroom which was very convenient. Not a lot of party bus companies have bathrooms so I would highly recommend Pacific Land Yachts. The night was blur but my friends and I all got back to San Jose safely. No DUI or arrests. If you are looking to have a good time hire Pacific Land Yachts. The bus is nice and spacious and they supply you with ice and bottles of water. It's like a moving night club and they have two 26" Tv's and a great sound system. I would have preferred to just party in the bus, it's so much fun and you are guaranteed to be in safe hands. I am definitely hiring Pacific Land Yachts again for future outings. Thank you Mark.

Mark drove our group to the Warriors game this weekend and the bus ride was the highlight of the trip! We took his 32 person bus which was clean, spacious and had all the amenities. Mark was great and got us up there quickly despite a lot of traffic. We will definitely use him again!

If you need to book a party bus, I highly recommend Pacific Land Yachts!! After spending several hours one evening researching and sending out price quote requests to various companies, PLY was the only one that paid attention to my particular needs (namely, our budget) and Mark answered all my follow-up questions clearly and promptly (I emailed and called to confirm.) Thanks to Yelp reviews, we decided it was safe to book with PLY. There are no hidden fees whatsoever, everything is included in the price quote. We called the day before prom to confirm pickup time and location, and it was such a relief to see our bus roll into our street right on time on the day of. The bus was wonderfully clean and so luxurious; the photos definitely don't lie! We loved being able to hook up our phones to the sound system so we could play our own music, and everyone got complimentary bottles of water. The disco lighting, window blinds, and non-row seating were a great plus, and our 34 passenger bus fit 34 people snugly but not uncomfortably. Our driver was polite and easy to communicate with, especially considering we were a bunch of very excited teenagers. When prom ended at midnight, our bus was right outside our venue waiting for us. THANK YOU to Pacific Land Yachts for making our prom night transportation absolutely perfect!

(ask for him!!!) - A disgustingly luxurious/ elegant/ classy ride for the night that entertainment-wise was equipped with: an iPod hook-up, a CD player, a DVD player so you can rock out to whatever your ear drums desire - 32 passengers (we squeezed 35-36 into the vehicle comfortably) to split said cost amongst - 2 complimentary bottles of champagne (chilled) w/ approximately a case of water also chilled. - Red Carpet rolled out for the 1st pick-up of the night - A 6-venue party-hop that picked us up in SoMa, lead us into the Mission, back up to the Tenderloin, through SoMa again, to Union Square area, to North Beach, across the Golden Gate Bridge & back home to SoMa (we organized the clubbing part of the night, but Pacific made it seamless to get everywhere ON TIME!) - No drunk/ tipsy drivers, no people left behind trying to hail a cab in SF on a Saturday night (miracle in and of itself) & wait for 30 useless minutes - A RESTROOM (when you have 32+ WOMEN, this is a non-negotiable feature) - A cell phone number you can reach your driver @ to call your party bus in front of a venue 5mins before departure - An immediate-quote response when you fill out the form on the website - They let you coordinate a date/ time for you to swing by and check out the vehicle before your event date - You can load up on the alcohol, food, snacks and bring them on the party bus! - I'm sure there's a dozen other things I'm forgetting right now that I know I should be thanking them for... The search has ended. From now on, Mark & Pacific Land Yachts will be our go-to for a VIP kinda night & ride! A bachelorette accommodated magically for the night! Thank you! Thank you! If you're searching for a party bus, look no further! Pacific Land Yachts, far and away, are the absolute best in SF! I booked the 30 passenger white bus for a birthday party. The bus was very spacious, clean and had a great sound system. Mark was fantastic! Not only did he offer the best rate, only a 4 hour minimum with taxes and gratuity included, he was extremely professional, went out of his way to ensure we had a great time AND even dropped our excess beverages food off at our house so we could make it to the club on time! Talk about EXCELLENT customer service! I will definitely use PLY again!!

We have looked everywhere for a decent party bus around SF and have found none. Thankfully, we found Pacific Land Yachts. This company is the GREATEST! The price is reasonable and the bus is off the hook! On top of that, we had an awesome driver. Mark was so courteous and on time! He took us to five different places in SF and didn't even complain. PYL has indeed won our business. We'll surely be using this company again. Can't wait for our next party bus event! FIVE fully-deserved STARS for Pacific Land Yachts!!

5 Stars to Pacific Land Yachts. They were easy to communicate with, offered a great price, was on time, and the bus was everything they offered. I booked Pacific Land Yachts to take a group of preschool teachers to a surprise appreciation lunch. They were so surprised when Mark pulled up in that! They loved it! They were playing their music, disco lights going -- all of it on what they thought was going to be a boring meeting. Mark was personable and punctual. He also gave a great price since it was off-hours for a party bus.
