Yacht Rock Revue has always been one of the most anticipated retro revival rock groups with their high-energy shows and exemplary tight sets! This summer, the band will be kicking off the much-awaited outing called the Reverse Sunset Tour! This much-awaited trek will cover over 30 shows across the U.S. and bring in a number of select special guests! On Friday, 25th August 2023, Yacht Rock Revue will make a coveted stop at the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Georgia! Fans can expect the iconic band to deliver many of their remarkable hits, like “Step,” “Give Me the Night,” “Float,” and many more! If you’re keen on taking a nostalgic trip to the ‘70s and ‘80s, hurry and score your tickets before they’re gone!

Yacht Rock Revue’s 2023 outing, Reverse Sunset Tour, will provide soft rock fans with their yacht rock fix! Kicking off in July, the band will embark on a 38-show tour spread across summer, fall, and winter! Fans who loved Kenny Loggins, Micahel Mcdonald, Stephen Day, Dan Fogelberg, and more can see the amazing high-energy set performed by the Atlanta-born seven-member group. Their music style is reminiscent of the songs beloved by music fans decades ago. Yacht rock has been categorized for their tendencies towards soft rock mixed with a variety of other genres, such as R&B, jazz, contemporary, and pop, among others.

The Reverse Sunset Tour is slated to feature a rotating list of special guests, comprising soft rock legends like Kenny Loggins, Pablo Cruise, Richard Marx, and more. On Friday, 25th August 2023, Yacht Rock Revue brings along Pablo Cruise as their featured guest. Hence, fans can absolutely look forward to a jam-packed evening with career-spanning hits!

Since emerging in 2007, Yacht Rock Revue has been the hometown music hero in Atlanta. Initially a side project, the band scored numerous weekly gigs in local clubs. The setlist primarily consists of iconic ‘70s and ‘80s rock hits – which have been coined “Yacht Rock,” named after the 2000s web series that features the same type of music. The band became one of the most prolific live performers to come out of Georgia. Yacht Rock Revue has been recorded to perform over 100 shows a year across various cities, including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston, and many more.

Over the years, the band has covered fantastic hits by their idols. However, they finally dropped their debut album with all original tracks, Hot Dads in Tight Jeans. The 2020 album contains outstanding singles, such as “Doobie Bounce,” “Step,” “Bad Tequila,” “Song for Another Night,” and more. Last year, the band released a string of new singles, “Float,” “Give Me the Night,” and “Snow.” Fans are speculating that there is an upcoming studio effort in the works. In the meantime, you can definitely look forward to the band performing these new hits on their upcoming Reverse Sunset Tour.

Incredible show at the Gothic in Denver last night! Go see them if you can score a ticket!!! Don't forget to wear a captain's hat and be prepared to dance!

Best $20 I've spent on a show in years!! The band was absolutely phenomenal!! The closest I could ever get to seeing Led Zeppelin and The Who! The newly renovated Variety Playhouse is now perfection, there isn't a bad seat in the whole venue and the sound quality is perfect! This was the best father daughter concert!

It’s summer’s most epic pop-rock tour, and it’s coming your way! Train’s Summer Road Trip 2024 covers over 40 dates, and it’s hitting all the right places! The monster outing also includes the presence of the remarkable Yacht Rock Revue. It's a showdown of early 2000s powerhouses, and they’re ready to light up the popular Pittsburgh music melting pot, Stage AE, with a bang! Expect iconic hits from Train’s 11-album repertoire as they cover unprecedented hits from 1998 all the way to 2022! Train has sold over ten million albums worldwide, while 14 of their hits have made it on the Billboard Hot 100. The band is known for releasing some of the biggest pop-rock anthems of the 2000s, including “Hey Soul Sister,” “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” “Drive By,” and more. Their exemplary work in music has earned them three Grammy Awards, an ASCAP Pop Music Award, and two Billboard Music Awards. Today, the band continues to release new music, the latest being their highly-acclaimed 2022 album, AM Gold, which spawned the hits “AM Gold” and “Cleopatra.”

Joining Train on this fantastic show is the supporting act, Yacht Rock Revue. The Atlanta-born sensation stemmed from the now defunct indie rock icon, Y-O-U. The accidental success of Yacht Rock Revue

One night in 2008, singers Nicholas Niespodziani and Peter Olson and drummer Mark Cobb, then members of the Atlanta-based indie rock band Y-O-U, showed up to their weekly residency at 10 High with an unusual set list. “As a gag, we thought we’d play cheesy soft rock hits from the 1970s, stuff that you’d hear in the dentist’s office,” says Niespodziani. The fans ate it up, so they did it again. And again. It wasn’t long before Y-O-U had given way to Yacht Rock Revue.

Today the Atlanta tribute band/comedy troupe has become a booming business. On August 22, the act returns to Piedmont Park for the fifth annual Yacht Rock Revival, where thousands of so-called Nation of Smooth faithful sing along to hits from Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and other soft rock icons—some of whom show up to play alongside the band. To keep up with booking demands, they’ve even spawned Yacht Rock Schooner, a second cover act. Recently Niespodziani discussed their career trajectory.

On playing alongside recording artists like Robbie Dupree, Firefall, and Journey singer Steve Augeri . . . They come and they realize that while we’re not taking ourselves seriously, we are taking the music seriously. We approach Little River Band as if it’s AC/DC.

On accidentally reuniting the Atlanta band Starbuck . . . Jimmy Cobb, the bass player in Starbuck, played with us a few times, and we put him and another former band member on the poster for the 2012 show. Before the gig, the band’s singer, Bruce Blackman, showed up with our flyer in his hand, asking, “What is this?” He was a little pissed. Backstage, these guys talked for the first time in 30 years. Bruce came on stage that night, and the next year they got the whole band back together.

On being named both “Best Overall Music Act in Atlanta” and “Best Place to Get Drunk With Your Dad” . . . We’re pretty proud of the “Drunk with Your Dad” distinction. We actually had a fan in Charlotte who came up to us with his pregnant wife and said, “Oh man, we got pregnant the last time you were here. We went in the club’s bathroom while you guys were on stage!” Clearly, we’re setting a mood.

Recreational activities suspended at White Rock Lake Park after sewage overflow

DALLAS — Water-related activities at White Rock Lake Park are suspended after a sanitary sewage overflow in Plano.

Dallas Park and Recreation said the overflow affected White Rock Creek and White Rock Lake and is advising park visitors not to fish or get in the water because elevated levels of bacteria were found in the creek and lake.

Recreational boaters and rowing and yacht clubs are suspending activities and water operations, according to Dallas Park and Recreation.

Dallas Park and Recreation said water treatments and conditions will be actively monitored and updated.
