After several months of looking and two failed surveys, I have just completed the purchase of my first boat, a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795. As a newcomer to boating I have to admit my first impression of boat brokers was pretty poor (compared to other industries I deal with) - descriptions were definitely on the optimistic side, boats were untidy, dirty and generally poorly presented. No excuses, just very poor sales and I would be careful who to list my boat with in the future. Then I came across Ancasta (Leo Walters) who shone bright like a beacon. The description of the boat was accurate, minor faults highlighted and extra pictures provided on request. Communications with Ancasta have been excellent, the boat was very well presented for inspection and after sales Ancasta remained interested to ensure my experience was positive. I thought that I would drop you a line to say how very pleased we were with the help and support we got from Kostas and Josiane in Ancasta Badalona. We always felt that they were working for us, not just to make a sale. In particular Kostas was able to help and advise on some of the little touches to make Ione look a little better for sale – replacing a rusty heads jubilee clip, acid cleaning around some seacocks etc. In addition he went well beyond the call of duty in taking me to his chiropractor when I wrecked my back cleaning in lockers! Greetings from Gibraltar. I just want to thank you all for such an amazing job getting Starseeker to handover in Gibraltar on 2nd August. I must admit that it was a bit of an emotional day for me because not only is the boat fabulous, but everyone has been so professional and helpful along the journey since I placed the order back in July 2022.  It has been a big learning curve for me as it is the first time I have ever bought a boat, let alone a new one.  What I have realised is that everyone involved is like a big family, and that it really matters that clients are delighted on handover. I really liked the little surprises on the day too.  At the commissioning meeting with Chris & Veronica I did comment about my love of a cuppa, and I was delighted to find a pack of Yorkshire Tea with cups ready for me to brew up. EAST COAST YACHT SALES is honored to bring Targa Boats: the 4×4 of the sea, to the east coast this year as the newest USA dealer. Targa has earned a reputation for producing well-constructed boats with incredible offshore capabilities, finely-finished, comfortable interiors, and fast cruising speeds across all models.

Over 40 years ago, Botnia Marin was founded by husband-and-wife team, Johan and Britt-Marie Carpelan. They started production with a range of sailboats and powerboats. In 1984, they purchased the design for the Targa 25 and began production on the line, which they have since expanded and evolved to a comprehensive, 10-model range that is available today.

These boats are an exciting addition to the New England yachting scene, filling a void in the market for the adventurous mariner. They perfectly accommodate an active, fast paced lifestyle without compromising comfort and beautiful yacht furnishings. With cruising speeds in the 30-knot range and top speeds of 38 knots, the Targa line is an efficient and pleasant way to get from A to B. In addition to speed, safety is paramount for the brand. The general hull design as well as features such as full walk-around side decks, high gunwales, side doors at the helm, and rugged construction contribute to an extremely safe and reliable ride.

What Targa has mastered in capability, the yachts match in comfort. Even the smallest model in the line features comfortable sleeping accommodations, as well as a galley and head. The luxe feel of the Targa’s interior has the superb comfort and style of a classic yacht. The 10 different models range in size from the Targa 23.1 to the Targa 46. Depending on the model they can be powered either by Volvo inboard diesel engines or outboards.
