Cruise itinerary

Arrive at Tuan Chau Marina after a 2.5-hour drive (if using our transfer). Embark on Grand Pioneers Cruise at noon. Enjoy a welcome drink at Cloud Nine restaurant while the cruise manager gives a short briefing about safety and cruise.

Dinner is served in the Dining on the Bay restaurant. After dinner, you can try squid fishing, playing poker, ordering a favorite cocktail from the varied menu, and watching the night scenery. Overnight onboard.

• Meals included: Lunch, Dinner

Start a new day with a Taichi session on the top deck. Enjoy light breakfast in the restaurant or in your private cabin. The next stop is Luon Cave - a tranquil area for taking a sampan boat rowed by a local.

Check out time at reception, then enjoy the brunch buffet while the vessel cruises back to the harbor. Disembarkation at around 10:45 am.

Dinner is served at the restaurant. After dinner, you can try squid fishing, book a massage service, order a favorite cocktail from the varied menu, or watch the night scenery. Overnight onboard.

Have breakfast at the restaurant to gain full energy. At 9:30 am, check in at the final point of the heritage bay called Xuong Rong Island. At 10:00, you have 2 options to explore the bay: (1) Discover Da Xep Park - an outdoor geological museum or (2) Relax at a pristine beach.

A hearty lunch is served. At 14:30, visit Vung Vieng Floating Fishing Village - one of the most ancient villages on the bay. You have a chance to witness Phao Dai Island, Tien Ong Cave, and Con Coc Island at the border of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay.

Join a party with The Legacy Gala dinner. After that, you have free time to enjoy the night view and experience other entertainment activities onboard. Overnight onboard.

Hello, We would like to book a 3 nights/ 2 days cruise leaving on 03/06. I just wanted to confirm this is available? I ask because this website lets me choose whichever date I prefer but I am assuming the boat will not on port every day, as it will be in the middle of a cruise? Otherwise, if you can change your trip to Jun 2, the Ocean Suite cabin is still available at US$ 790/cabin. The transfer costs US$ 18/person/shuttle bus one way. The cruise will operate 3 days 2 nights on every day as on the second day, they will use a day boat for activities in further areas. The trip with Essence Grand was faultless. The vessel is new and modern. We love our cabin with a lovely balcony and super clean bathroom. The scenery of Halong Bay was unbeatable. You should notice that the excursions will be crowded but we were satisfied with the view. The food onboard was great and lots of it. The staff was caring and always made sure we felt comfortable. Can't recommend it enough.

A variety of activities and a nice balance with break time to experience onboard facilities. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Excellent meals with lots of options. Brunch was not as good as lunch and dinner but the food was overall good.

The trip was well organized from start to finish. The room was the same as the picture and the view from the balcony was fantastic. The staff was hospitable and helpful. A shout out to Mr. K and Christina for excellent service. Would recommend Essence Grand to our friends!  

We had a nice time. Halong Bay is crowded but engaging. The trip to Surprise Cave was incredible. Kayaking on the bay (through the cave) was a must-try. The food was amazing and plentiful. The staff was superb. Thank you very much!

My family booked the cruise for 2 nights. Essence Cruise was top-notch. The interiors are new and super clean. All the modern facilities made our trip more enjoyable. The staff was young and attentive. The guide Mr. K went out of his way to accommodate our needs. The bay was captivating with beautiful spots. The activities on day 2 were one of the highlights. There were fewer boats and the beach was amazing. The cons is the quality of the boat on day 2. It was old and did not match the quality of Essence Grand vessel.  

Such a trip of a lifetime. Essence Grand is the biggest and newest cruise in Halong Bay. The facilities are premium. Our Veranda Suite is spotless and comfortable. Highly recommended!  

Everything was great. The pick up and check in on board were smooth. The ship itself was brand new, huge, and first-class. The lunch and dinner were exceptional. The heated pool was a plus. The staff was friendly and helpful!

Can you provide more information on the itinerary for 3 day/2night cruise and the price for transfer to/from Hanoi?

@Jason C, For the 3 day 2 night program, you will join more excursions. On Day 1, you explore Sung Sot cave. On Day 2, you will get on a smaller boat in the morning to join excursions in the quieter area. There, you will kayak at Dark-Bright Cave area, swim at Ba Trai Dao Beach, and visit a pearl far. You return to the main vessel in the afternoon. On Day 3, you will visit Luon Cave by sampan boat.

The transfer costs US$40/person/round trip. Should you need more information, feel free to contact us.

Hi, vey limited information/review on Essence Grand Cruise. Well noted on the only possibility to do 2D/1N cruise for now. Travelling with our 2 kids (8y and 11y old), we'll have to book 2 cabins or 1 is feasible with extra bed (example: triple room with 1 extra bed). Thanks

8:00 - 8:45 : Our driver will pick you up either from your hotel in the Old Quarter or our meeting point if you have arranged a shuttle service with us (book in the next step with an additional fee). The travel duration to Halong Bay is approximately 2.5 hours.

By 11:30 - 11:45 , you will arrive at Tuan Chau Cruise Port, where the staff of Grand Pioneers Cruise will warmly greet you and help you with the check-in process.

Once you step on board, you can savor a welcome drink in the restaurant while receiving a briefing about the cruise. Afterward, you can proceed to check into your luxurious and spacious suite.

Lunch will be served in the restaurant as the cruise ship travels through the countless islands and islets of Halong Bay.

Prepare for a visit to Sung Sot Cave , a remarkable natural wonder within Halong Bay. This cave, renowned for its grandeur and size, showcases stunning stalactite formations that have developed over thousands of years.

On 21st May 2024, Essence Grand Cruise officially changed its name to Grand Pioneers Cruise, using a new brand development approach, positioning themselves as the pioneers of the "Heritage Journey." A midst the magnificent wonders of nature in Halong Bay & Bai Tu Long Bay, this high-class cruise will lead the voyage along the national coast and extend further around the world.

There are two luxury vessels named Grand Pioneers I and Grand Pioneers II to meet the ongoing demand of travelers for high-class service, each with different deck plans.

Grand Pioneers I (55 cabins)

Grand I has 7 decks with a variety of amenities that can accommodate up to 160 passengers onboard:

The bottom deck is a suitable area for 02 karaoke rooms, 02 billiards & 3D golf room.

1st floor (Wellness Deck) includes 06 cabins (Ocean & Ocean Triple Suite); and a range of facilities including reception, 02 elevators, a security room, a medical center, a Family Entertainment room, a Kids Club, a Spa, a Gym, and a Meeting Room.

2nd floor (Pool Deck) is where the 16 suites (Ocean Balcony and Veranda), the Pool, Pool Bar, Cigar & Wine Lounge, Entertainment Room, and Private Dining Room are located.

3rd floor (Essence Deck) features 18 suites (Ocean Balcony, Executive, 01 Oceania at the rear, and 01 Owner’s Suite at the front).

4th floor  (Panorama Deck) is for 14 suites (02 Essence at the back, and the remaining Ocean Balcony & Executive).

Ocean Suites have floor-to-ceiling windows. Ocean Balcony Suites stay on both the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th decks with partial view balconies. Veranda and Executive Suites have full-view private balconies of 5m2.

Essence Suites have 20m2 private terraces while Oceania Suites don't have a terrace but a larger size (95m2) with panoramic windows. Owner Suite has the largest cabin size of 150m2 with a 200m2 terrace.

5th floor (Gourmet Deck) is designed for the Dining by the Bay Restaurant and Open Kitchen.

6th floor (Sky Deck), offers an open-air sundeck for Sky Bar, a wonderful spot to enjoy the gorgeous bay from high up.

Grand Pioneers II (53 cabins)

Same as Grand I, Grand II Cruise has the same number of 7 decks.

The bottom deck has 02 karaoke rooms and a Cinema room. The 1st (Serenity), 5th (Gastronomy) & 6th (Majestic) floors have the same layout as Grand I, except for a new gift shop on the 1st floor.

2nd floor (Crystal Oasis) is the pool area and 19 suites (Ocean Balcony, Veranda, 02 Pearl Suites, and the only President Suite).

3rd floor (Lavish) includes a Bay View Restaurant, Cigar & Wine Lounge at the back; a Private Dining Room & Jacuzzi deck at the front; in the middle are 14 suites (Ocean Balcony, Executive, and 02 Essence Suites).

4th floor provides a Wheelhouse & Terrace area, 14 suites (the remaining Ocean Balcony and Executive Suites and 02 Essence Suites at the deck's rear)

The Pearl Suites (42m2) only have bay view windows. Signature and Essence Suites both have private balconies with the size as follows: 9m2 and 20m2. The President Suite (109m2) is the largest cabin on board.

Be ready at your hotel and our driver with Limousine of  Grand Pioneers (  Old Name Essence Grand Superyacht)will come to pick you up at your hotel lobby (If you book the cruise together with transfer). It takes about 3 hours for a transfer from Hanoi to Halong City. We will have about 20 minutes for break on the half way and you can go to rest room or have a drink.

Note: If you have private car/van please be ready at Sun Harbour at 11.30- 11.45 AM

11:30 – 12:00: Welcome 

You will arrive at Sun Harbour at Halong City and Halong Essence Grand Superyacht staffs will welcome you at the waiting lounge.

12:00 – 12:30: Embark – Cruise briefing – Check-in Essence Grand Superyacht

14:30 – 15:00: Luon Cave – Kayaking or Bamboo Boat Ride  

Grand Pioneers  will take you to Luon Cave , which is possesses wonderful natural scenery and has a relatively diverse and abundant flora ecosystem, the cliffs are covered with green trees, there is also the habitat of conserved monkeys.

We will have sometimes here to explore Luon Cave by kayaking or take a bamboo boat ride or you can do swimming in the clear blue water

15:30 – 16:30: Titop Island – Climbing or Swimming 

Our next stop is Titop Island which is named after Soviet cosmonaut German Titop. Titop Island is the only island with the largest and most beautiful beach. Seen from above, the beach looks like a full moon embracing the island's foot. This is a very beautiful gentle beach, especially extremely clean because the high tide washes away dirt, the sand here is perfectly pure white, the sea water is clear in all four seasons.

Or if you are a fan of hiking, then you can climb 400 of extremely craggy stone steps to reach the top of Titop. However, the gift for you will not be small as the panoramic view of Ha Long Bay will catch your eye right when you are in the middle of your spectacular hiking journey. 

14:30 – 17:30: Chilling on Essence Grand Superyacht

If you prefer to stay on  Grand Pioneers,  you can chill in your comfy suite or enroll these activities and services like La Spa (spa and massage), swimming pool, pool bar, cigar club, poker, 3D golf simulator, billiards and table soccer, library, and for children there is a kid’s club 

17:30: Sunset & Happy Hour time

Return to  Grand Pioneers Cruise  , we will relax at Lighthouse sky bar, enjoying the music and the drink while watching sunset

19:00: Dinner at Cloud Nine Restaurant

You will be served dinner with a variety of dishes from Western to Asian. After that, you will experience the life of the local people with squid fishing; or chilling in your suite; maybe treating yourself with La Spa; or enrolling group activities like poker club, cigar club, karaoke club.

07:30 – 08:15: Discover Sung Sot Cave

Our speed boat will transport you to Sung Sot Cave –the largest and most beautiful cave in Ha Long Bay and this is also the place where many rocky islands with unique shapes are found nowhere else. The way to Sung Sot cave is hidden under the forest, the stone steps are craggy, visitors have both the pleasure of climbing and the excitement as if they are going to the sky.

09:00: Check-Out

After visiting Sung Sot Cave, we return to our beautiful Essence Grand Superyacht cruise to relax and prepare to check-out.

09:30: Brunch at Cloud Nine Restaurant

Your delicious brunch will be served as our cruise returns to Sun Harbour .

11:00: Disembark Essence Grand Superyacht Halong

After saying goodbye to Essence Grand Superyacht’s crew, we will go back to Sun Harbour by tender boat.

11:30: Return to Hanoi

Limousine van and driver will be waiting for you and take you back to Hanoi.

+ If you book  Grand Pioneers  together with transfer: Limousine van and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Center ( Hanoi Old Quarter) for transfer to Halong City. If you do not stay in Hanoi Old Quarter then we can pick you up at Hanoi Opera House. So please be ready at Hanoi Opera House at 08.30 AM. 

It takes about 3 hours from Hanoi to Halong Bay including about 20 minutes for break time.

+ If you do not book a transfer but only cruise cabin. Please be ready at Sun Harbour in Halong City at 11.30 AM for boarding cruise. Please contact your travel consultant for getting contact number at the harbour for better pick-up.

09:50: Break Time For Coffee or Toilet 

On the way to Halong City our Limousine will stop for about 20 minutes so you can go to toilet or have a coffee/breakfast in need.

11:30 – 11:45: Welcome to Essence Grand Superyacht Halong

Arrive at Halong City and Sun Harbour, you will be warmly welcome by  Grand Pioneers Cruise  Halong staffs before getting on cruise.

12:00 – 12:15: Embark Essence Grand Superyacht 

We will embark Halong Bay  Grand Pioneers , welcome by staffs on boat and enjoy welcome drinks on Cloud Nine restaurant while listening to introduction briefing about  Grand Pioneers  Cruise, itinerary and general safety on cruise.

We will move to Luon Cave where you can do kayaking or enjoy the free time on a sampan boat rowed by local. Luon Cave is very beautiful lagoon in Halong Bay with clean water and that is the best place in Halong Bay for kayaking or sampan boat trip. You may sometimes see monkeys going down there when you do kayaking. Incredible karst will be closed to your eyes.

15:30 – 16:30: Titop island – Climbing or Swimming 

After visiting Luon Cave with kayak or sampan boat we will move to Titop Island where you can do hiking 400 steps for panorama view of whole Halong Bay with the hight of 100 meters . That is the best place in Halong Bay to have the best majestic view for Halong Bay. Titop Island has beautiful moon-shaped beach and tranquil blue waters. So if you don’t wish to do hiking then you can do swimming in the beautiful beach.

08:00: Cruising to Bai Tu Long Bay

After breakfast, we will move from Essence Superyacht to a day boat or cruising to Bai Tu Long Bay. We will move to Thien Canh Son Cave in Bai Tu Long Bay . Thien Canh Son in English means “Heaven Scenery Mountain”. 

Our transfer boat will pick you up from Essence Superyacht for a morning cruise to Thien Canh Son Cave in Bai Tu Long Bay .

10:30 Excursion to Thien Canh Son Cave

We will visit Thien Canh Son Cav e, walking inside the limestone cave and discover the cave and the view of Bai Tu Long Bay. 

After visiting the cave we will enjoy time swimming or relaxing on a nice and white sandy beach in Bai Tu Long, do kayaking around Cong Do Island in Bai Tu Long Bay. Bai Tu Long Bay is a peaceful bay of Halong Bay and it is less touched area.

12:30 Lunch Time

Come back to our cruise and enjoy our lunch while cruising the Vung Ha area .

13:45: Visit Vung Vieng Fshing Village

Tai Chi is a good Asian method for good health and you can start a new day on Essence Grand Superyacht with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck if you can get up early.

07:30 – 08:15: Excursion to Sung Sot Cave

After breakfast, we will transfer to a speedboat for moving to Sung Sot Cave (Amazing Cave) . We will visit the beautiful cave for about 45 minutes by walking to the cave to admire the masterpiece of nature in Halong Bay. Sung Sot Cave is one of the biggest and most beautiful cave in Halong Bay. You will know why it has the name of Amazing Cave.

Nobody does a couples trip like NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. Every year, Johnson and his wife Cookie host a trip around Europe via yacht with some of their favorite people, many of whom are public figures. The couple kickstarted their latest tour in Barcelona.

“We are officially on vacation!! 😁,” the 64-year-old said as the caption to photos with a few of the other couples in their finest threads and a few shots of them enjoying fine dining. “Hanging out with our great friends John and Vicki Palmer and Sam and LaTanya Jackson at Boca Grande in Barcelona, Spain! The food was *chef’s kiss*” he wrote.

After visiting Barcelona, the couples’ next stop on the summer tour was the party city of Ibiza. They indulged in seafood and enjoyed some serene views from the yacht and were joined by another star couple, Cedric the Entertainer and his wife , Lorna.

“Today Cookie and I enjoyed a beautiful day in Ibiza, Spain,” he wrote. “We had a wonderful lunch at Juan Y Andrea Formentera with our friends John and Vicki Palmer, Sam and LaTanya Jackson, and Cedric the Entertainer and his wife Lorna. I encourage everyone to have lunch right on the beach at Juan Y Andrea. We ate the catch of the day, fresh sea bass and lobster… So delicious!”

In 2023 , the Johnsons toured Europe and had quite a few celebrity friends come along for that trip. In addition to Samuel L. Jackson and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and Vicki and John Palmer, they spent time with Judge Greg Mathis and his wife, Linda Mathis, as well as Michael Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto. Johnson also had his kids join the trip last year, including Andre and his wife Lisa, his son EJ and daughter Elisa, and their grandchildren Gigi and Avery.

Some highlights of the trips usually include top-tier meals from a private chef and Fourth of July celebrations. We look forward to seeing where the couples land next and living vicariously through them!

The latest Kismet will make its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in late September. For now, it’s chartering in the Med, either with owner Shahid Khan or with guests willing to pay about $3.25 million per week.

The current 400-foot Kismet is a supersized, more refined version of the last vessel, with the same features and even more extravagance, including an underwater Nemo lounge (a bubble in the bottom of the hull for seeing marine life) beneath the cinema, a duplex owner’s suite, a Balinese-inspired spa, and a retro, neon dance floor. Oh, and the jaguar on the bow is permanent this time.

The boat, which accommodates up to 12 guests in 8 staterooms, has a crew of 37. But for social events, it can hold dozens of people, including dining options for 24 on the upper deck, 18 on the main deck and 14 on both the top and pool decks.

It’s the third boat for Khan by Lürssen, which builds the world’s largest superyachts. “The yacht has exceeded all expectations of the client,” noted Peter Lürssen, the firm’s managing partner.

Beyond the amenities, including a DJ station, a custom Boganyi grand piano, a teppanyaki cooking station, and many others, it has a hybrid diesel-electric power train. That hybrid system makes it one of the world’s largest vessels that can go into full-electric mode in eco-sensitive areas, while also having features like a heat-recovery system for heating the pools.

Last year, Khan was supposed to meet with journalists at Monaco to discuss Kismet and his career as a yacht owner, but the then- Kismet (renamed Whisper ) sold just before the show, so that never happened.

"Traveling with Grand Pioneers Cruise... Amazing trip!"

The best thing that sets Grand Pioneers apart from other places is the staff. I've been on a lot of cruises but the staff here are the best. They were very friendly and took great care of our kids. The itinerary was perfectly organized and scheduled. When we went on the trip, the pearl farm was closed but they took us to Titop Island instead. Our favorite staff member was Yang, who attended to our every need.

My wifey and I recently stayed on the Grand Pioneers Cruise for 1 night and it was an unforgettable experience. The boat is stunning, the food is incredible, and the staff are so friendly and attentive. We loved everything about our cruise, especially the dinner. Highly recommend!
