The Great Steak Debate: Le Cellier or Yachtsmen Steakhouse

Sharing is caring!

On a past trip I was able to eat two of the most incredible steakhouses at Walt Disney World ; Le Cellier located in Epcot’s World Showcase Canada Pavilion, and Yachtsman Steakhouse which is in the Yacht Club Resort.  I will give a review on each steak and then try (keyword is TRY) to pick which meal was my favorite!

Canada's Le Cellier Steakhouse!

First up I’ll take a look at Le Cellier Steakhouse!  Always a favorite of mine and one of the hardest ADR’s to get in all of Walt Disney World, I’ve been coming here since 2000 and have made their cheese soup many times at home for a quick “fix”.  Moving on to the entrée, I ordered the New York Strip Steak (Medium) and it came with Bercy Butter, and a side of Yukon Gold Potato Gratin.  (For those interested, this was $32 for the entre alone.)

New York Strip!

The steak came out and was extremely tender, juicy and flavorful, and was very visually appealing.  It had little to no fat that needed removed and I dug in.  The Bercy Butter that was on top of the stake enhanced the flavor so much and really was a perfect addition to this choice cut of steak.  The outside of the steak was a bit crispy around the edges which I love and each bite really felt like it would melt in your mouth.  It was simply one of the best steak’s I’ve ever had and is very hard to top.

Yachtsmen Steakhouse @ Yacht Club!

However, there’s also the wonderful Yachtsman Steakhouse located at the Yacht Club Resort near the Boardwalk and Epcot and they have many different cuts to choose from.  Based on the recommendation of a good friend who said if I loved steak, this was THE place to go and it lived up to the hype, especially the steak.  I chose the 24oz which came with a side of paprika fries and the steak was topped with Roasted Garlic Butter.  This was simply the largest steak I’ve ever ordered and I have to say it was mouth watering just from looking at it and it did not disappoint.

Yachtsmen steak main

Getting two cuts of beef in one steak is amazing (one part is the tenderloin and the other is the loin for those like me that didn’t know before!)  and I had ordered mine medium as well.  The garlic butter added a lot of flavor to the steak as well however it was more subtle and the overall flavor of the steak really came through as it was only seasoned with salt and pepper before being cooked.   The porterhouse had a bit more fat on it than the NY Strip I had in Canada however it wasn’t enough to matter and the tenderness of the steak really came through especially as I got closer to the bone.

Bottom line, these were two of the best steaks I’ve ever had and they were worth every dime (and they are worth many dimes!).  Overall if I had to pick the best meal, based only on the steak it’s quite a difficult decision.  Both were incredibly delicious and full of flavor and just simply, amazing, however if I had to pick one I would have to go with Yachtsman.  The Porterhouse was simply hands down the best steak I’ve ever had, and while I felt like I could roll out of there after eating it, I have to say, I’d gladly do it again.  It was tender, juicy and simply melted in your mouth with the garlic butter.  That being said, Le Cellier’s Steak was incredible and shouldn’t be overlooked, in fact, if one is on a budget, Le Cellier is your best option as Yachtsmen was quite expensive.

My Choice: Yachtsmen Steakhouse’s 24zo Porterhouse!

Have you tried either of these delicious meals or had steak at a different location at Walt Disney World that should be looked at?

Ranking Disney World’s Steakhouses

le yachtsman

Walt Disney World is home to a lot of great food. You can get delicious snacks and treats in the parks, like DOLE Whips , mini corn dogs , and giant cinnamon rolls .

le yachtsman

But if you’re looking for a hearty meal, you might want to check out some of Disney World’s steakhouses — because there are a few different options throughout the Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs.

We’re ranking all of the Disney World steakhouses here so that you know which one to pick next time you’re in the mood for steak!

If you’re looking for steak in Disney World, you can find individual dishes at a whole lot of different restaurants. There are options at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom, Jiko at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and so many more. If you’re dining at a Table Service (sit-down) restaurant for dinner, odds are pretty good that you can find a steak on the menu.

But in this case, we’re only looking at a few of the official steakhouses in Disney World: Le Cellier, STK Orlando, Steakhouse 71, and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Let’s see how these rank, starting at the bottom.

4. stk steakhouse.

Coming in last is STK Orlando in Disney Springs. This steakhouse has delicious food, including steak (of course), a selection of mac ‘n’ cheeses, some seafood options, and a whole lot more.

le yachtsman

We thought their steak was super tender and flavorful, and the appetizers and sides that we tried were very tasty as well. So why does this spot come in last?

The first offense is the price tag. The steak itself ranges from $50 to $80 per steak (which isn’t super crazy compared to the rest of these steakhouses), but the mac ‘n’ cheese sampler we tried (with three little sides of different mac ‘n’ cheeses) was $40 .

le yachtsman

You get one serving of sauce with your steak, but if you want any additional sauce, it’ll be $2   each . So all the extras add up to make this a pretty pricey meal altogether.

For a nice, fancy meal that’s going to put some strain on your wallet, it really doesn’t feel like a fine dining experience . The hyper atmosphere wasn’t ideal while we were trying to enjoy our $20 cocktail .

le yachtsman

But if you’re interested in trying out a different kind of steakhouse experience, and you LIKE the loud, rowdy atmosphere, this might be the spot for you! And we certainly didn’t have any complaints about the quality of the food here.

3. yachtsman steakhouse.

In third place, we have Yachtsman Steakhouse , which is located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This steakhouse also had great food, but it’s a much more subdued environment than you’ll find at STK. The dining room has a wood on wood on wood styling, and you’ll find decor that reminds you of the resort’s nautical theme around the restaurant as well.

le yachtsman

Its proximity to EPCOT gives this restaurant a bit of an edge over STK. You can walk to the Yacht Club resort from the park, which means it’s a lot easier to get to (you’ll need to drive or take the bus to Disney Springs if you want to find STK).

We also have really enjoyed our food here every time we came. It’s on the pricier side again (all of these steakhouses are, really), but the quality of the food is great.

le yachtsman

When you compare the quality to the price, though, we’re not sure that the cost is really worth it. Steaks are between $50 and $60 here, sides are $10 to $13 , and most other entrees are between $35 and $50 .

le yachtsman

In our experiences, the service has been pretty slow at Yachtsman , possibly because it’s a more classic, laid back restaurant. But that might be frustrating if you’re hoping to head back into the parks after your meal and catch a few more rides.

le yachtsman

So although it’s got delicious food and is closer to a park, we don’t think the Yachtsman is quite as good as the other two steakhouses on our list.

2. steakhouse 71.

Steakhouse 71 is a brand-new restaurant, and it’s already near the top of our list. You’ll find this steakhouse where The Wave…of American Flavors used to be inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

le yachtsman

The food here is fantastic. We tried the steak and a few other entrees as well , and we were happy with everything we ordered. There’s a good selection of steak cuts as well as fish, chicken, and vegetable entree options.

le yachtsman

One of the best parts is the price here. The steaks range from $30 to $40 , putting the cost pretty far below the other steakhouses on this list. The other entrees are between $20 and $30 . If you’re dining on a budget, you can still get delicious food for a much lower price at this spot.

le yachtsman

In terms of value for your money, Steakhouse 71 is hard to beat. And that’s not even the end of its good qualities — Steakhouse 71 is in the Contemporary resort, which means it’s right outside the Magic Kingdom.

le yachtsman

It’s just a quick walk from the Magic Kingdom entrance to this restaurant. You could absolutely make reservations for a lunch or dinner here on your Magic Kingdom park day and hop over from the park with very little trouble.

Steakhouse 71 has to be one of the best meals for a balance of price, quality, and convenience in Disney World. We have very few complaints when it comes to this restaurant. The only reason it didn’t make number 1 on our list is that we just like this next restaurant better.

1. le cellier.

Le Cellier is a steakhouse located in the Canada pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase. So it already gets bonus points for being the only steakhouse actually inside a Disney World park.

le yachtsman

Le Cellier is themed to look like a fancy wine cellar. The dining room is dimly lit and feels very upscale, but it’s also pretty small . For that reason, it can be a little bit difficult to get reservations here, and they will very rarely have walk-up availability.

le yachtsman

But the steaks at this spot are hard to beat . One of our favorites is the classic Filet Mignon, which is served over a delicious risotto.

le yachtsman

The kids menu at this spot is actually surprisingly good as well. There are options like grilled chicken, salmon, and steak in kid-sized portions. The steaks on the menu range from $35 to $60 , which puts it about in the middle of our list. It’s not quite as cheap as Steakhouse 71 but not as expensive as most things at STK.

le yachtsman

And the fact that you don’t even have to leave the park to visit this restaurant? We think that (plus the very delicious food) makes it worth the cost.

Michelin guide’s point of view.

Unsurprisingly, seafood – in particular fish from the local auction – takes pride of place in this pretty restaurant located close to the marina. Simplicity and accuracy reign on the plate, while the dining area has a minimalist and intimate decor.

Personally for me I think that LeCellier is a big time failure when it comes to being a signature restaurant and has done virtually nothing different from when it was a 1TS restaurant a few short years ago other than raise the prices. The place is still very dark (I get that it's a cellar), it is loud and it is very cramped with tables stacked upon tables. As for the food, I personally think it is rather average at best. I hear more praise for it's pretzel bread and cheese soup (both are good) than anything else... I'd rather be impressed by the steaks in a steakhouse than the bread and soup. As for Yachtsman Steakhouse, it is one of my favorite restaurants in WDW. For me the steaks have always been very good, I enjoy the decor, I enjoy that it is much quieter and I enjoy that there are not tables stacked upon each other where I can hear the persons conversations as if they were sitting at my table.

Mouseketeer.

We haven't eaten at Le Cellier in about 15 years, but ate at the Yachtsman for the first time last year. I remember Le Cellier being nice, okay, fine and have had opportunities to go back, but we keep choosing to go other places instead. I guess because it was nice, but not spectacular. We found Yachtsman to be spectacular. First, where we were seated was perfect. It was a smaller space, about 4 tables, off the larger dining area. It seemed like a private, quiet area and added to a calm atmosphere. The service was impeccable. I asked to do something I never do, and that was to swap out one of the side items on my plate for one from another selection. Not only was it no problem, but they surprised me by giving me extra! We were not hurried. The service was attentive but not hovering. The food was as close to perfect as one could get. We were in such a good mood when we finished,we opted to treat ourselves and, for the first time, took a taxi back to our resort instead of a bus. Just a nice evening all way around. We will definitely be going back. It was expensive, but oh so worth it. If you allow yourself one big money meal per visit,we put this on the same par as Jiko or Artist Point( which are a tad less expensive, but food quality is just as great).

<font color=teal>It was wonderful both times<br><f

I've eaten at Le Cellier on a few different occasions. It's good food, but the soup is just as good at Big River Grille IMHO. As time goes on those tables just get closer and closer. I really appreciate personal space and not hearing the conversation of the diners next to me, so it's a big detractor from an atmosphere I otherwise like. Also, because of it's popularity it can be ridiculous how long you have to wait after showing up for a reservation. I have not eaten at Yachtsman, but from when I've walked by it looks like a lovely atmosphere with plenty of room to breath. In the future, I would definitely want to take the plunge and eat here over another trip to Le Cellier. Edited to add: From my dinners at Jiko, I would also say that Le Cellier is not on par with signature restaurants.

Lesverts

Since Flying Fish is going to be closed when I am in the World this June, Yachtsman was my next choice for the 'extra special' dinner. Looking forward to it. Definitely would pick Yachstman over Le Cellier for a couple of reasons. Price to meal description, location, wine list, reviews and Cory's stamp of approval.

Lemon Curd Torte NOTE: The food quality has not improved greatly nor has the interior since it become a "signature" restaurant, I expect top service, food and surroundings. I don't want dark boding colors, and worn carpets. Dungeons have more warmth. The cooks aren't that good in preparing "fine" steaks; they are still used to the medium quality steaks from the staple of the old menu. This is a true disappointment for a "signature" meal. They want an increased the price without increasing the food or experience. The reputation has always been overrated. I liken it to either "Drinking the Kool-Aid" or "Lemmings to the Sea". Due to hard-to-get-ressies, people always assumed it was better than it was. Unknown to many is that the food taste is raised much like frozen foods through the addition of sodium. This is true of many WDW eateries. As a comparison, Le Cellier is about the same (or less) as an Outback restaurant for beef.

buzzrelly

Yachtman's is far and away MUCH better that LeCellier. I've said this many times, but we were so disappointed with LC that we would never go back. YS is wonderful, the food, the atmosphere, the service, everything. You will not be disappointed!

Pepper pots

Another vote for YS..Our steaks on our last trip two years ago were awesome..Will be making a ADR this year again..As far as LC goes, it has been our only disappointed restaurant in six vacations..

Nancyg56

I thought Le Cellier was a disappointment when it was 1 credit on the DDP , and had decided never to go back. The food was mediocre at best, and the service rushed and impersonal. get em in....get em out. Shutters at CBR was much better that year. Like the YSH, and know that even though every restaurant can have an off day, this one has fewer than many. The food is really good, the steaks are nice quality, and the service is outstanding. The atmosphere is lovely, and more relaxing than any restaurant in the parks, but if you compare it to Le Cellier, it is WAY WAY more relaxing. THere is space between tables, and your server is not trying to shoo you out as soon as you come in.

Hopefully

We went to Yachtsman in October and it was great. Our food was delicious and the service was impeccable. That said, DH and DS don't want to return in October. Neither were as wowed as I was and neither think it is "worth" the cost. YMMV Good Luck

He got my hubbies steak once.

We've eaten at both, and I'm a huge steak fanatic. I enjoyed my steak at Le Cellier (this was about 6 years ago now, and from what I've heard things have changed for the worse...) but it's not somewhere that I care to go back to. The Yachtsman was a better experience - it was more expensive (not sure if there is a price difference now), but had a better atmosphere and better steak. Also has a decent scotch selection! And the kids loved their dessert, which is a puzzle that you can paint! As far as steak in WDW, it's the best I've had (including Le Cellier, Cali Grill and Brown Derby). Never tried Shula's, but I may on our trip next January.

The one and only time we dined at Le Cellier, it was 1 TS and we were underwhelmed. I cannot imagine using 2 TS credits there, but I gladly would at Yachtsman! Night and day as far as I'm concerned.

Yachtsman every day of the week. Give me their NY strip with any potato and a side of Truffles and Mac to share. Another big difference to me is the Crews Cup is right next door. We like to get their about an hour or more before our ressie and wind down from the day with a libation and small talk.

Le Cellier Steakhouse Review

le yachtsman

Le Cellier is a popular steakhouse in the Canada pavilion of World Showcase at Epcot, with a fan following. This dining review looks at whether it’s one of Walt Disney World’s best restaurants or if it fails to live up to the hype. We’ll also share food photos from our various meals here and perspective on value for money. ( Updated June 28, 2022 .)

We can understand the appeal of Le Cellier: the delicious meats of Canada beckon carnivores like us from opposite ends of the park. We typically pay out of pocket when dining here, as this restaurant is not a good value on the Disney Dining Plan because it requires two credits. Le Cellier is located in Epcot’s World Showcase in the Canada pavilion. Le Cellier participates in the Disney Dining Plan , which is currently unavailable. (See  When Will the Disney Dining Plan Return?  for more details and analysis.)

For a long time, Le Cellier was one of our go-to restaurants–we ate there at least once per trip. However, that more or less ended when it became a Signature Restaurant for both lunch and dinner several years ago. We aren’t the only ones who think Le Cellier is overrated, which is quite the shift from about a decade ago when Le Cellier was the darling of the Disney fan community and one of the hottest restaurants at Walt Disney World. After years of being down on Le Cellier, we revisited it in Summer 2022…

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience, which confirmed that Le Cellier is still a good restaurant. It’s not one of the best in Walt Disney World, and whether it’s Signature caliber is probably is a matter of perspective. As far as cuisine goes, my biggest issue with Le Cellier is that I think the food, especially the steaks, is often over-salted and over-buttered.

This isn’t always an issue, but it sometimes happens. That is enough to knock it down a rung for me. Beyond that, the food is generally good, it’s just not as good as other Signature Restaurants–nor is the overall experience. I have only a few interior photos of Le Cellier because it’s almost always crowded, cramped, and loud in here. This wouldn’t be a huge surprise if it were a character dining experience, but this is a Signature Restaurant. To each their own, but it’s not quite the vibe we want when dropping $150+ for two people.

le yachtsman

As far as theme goes, Le Cellier feels like a steakhouse you’d find in Canada. While the lighting and decor of the restaurant are fabulous, the spacing of the tables leaves a bit to be desired–but it’s not as bad in Le Cellier as in other restaurants.

It’s also nice that Le Cellier’s theming isn’t simply a caricature of Canada. It doesn’t feel like a rustic lodge, there aren’t antlers in all of the decorating, and the carpet isn’t red and black flannel.

Walt Disney World May 2012 927

Being overrated is relative, and my stance is that in comparison to its actual quality, the popular opinion of it (at least as expressed in the Disney online community), and more importantly, the restaurant’s pricing, is a little too high. People gush over Le Cellier (albeit not as many as used to) and it’s the restaurant I most frequently see ranked among Walt Disney World’s, but for me it just doesn’t live up to the hype, all things considered.

It is a good restaurant, no doubt, and the service is great, but there are some better restaurants at Walt Disney World, especially at Le Cellier’s price points. I think a big part of Le Cellier’s reputation is premised upon the value it used to offer on the Disney Dining Plan. (Even though the Disney Dining Plan is currently unavailable, it’s discussed here because its presence looms large over Le Cellier and how the restaurant has “evolved” over the last decade-plus.)

Walt Disney World May 2012 923

Le Cellier used to be a great value on the Disney Dining Plan, and an incredibly difficult Advance Dining Reservation to land. Much of its reputation was predicated upon these facts, and it retains some popularity as a result of that.

However, changes to the Disney Dining Plan and price increases at Le Cellier have decreased its relative value, and without that value, there’s really no reason to rank it so highly. There are at least 10 restaurants at Walt Disney World that are better than Le Cellier–probably more like 15-20, actually.

le yachtsman

In terms of restaurants in World Showcase, Takumi-Tei and Monsieur Paul are both better on the high end. As compared to Signature steak spots that are convenient to Epcot, both Topolino’s Terrace and Yachtsman Steakhouse both surpass Le Cellier.

This is not to say that Le Cellier is bad. It’s still a very good restaurant, and has great options for appetizers (the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup is universally loved), entrees, and desserts. Beyond that, Le Cellier is a beer-lover’s paradise with several great options from Unibroue.

le yachtsman

Our Le Cellier servers have always been exceptional and very knowledgeable regarding the different entrees. It’s nice to have servers who are actually willing to make a recommendation instead of indecisively saying “they’re all good.”

One one occasion, our server offered descriptions of the beers that actually persuaded us to each try one, when initially we were unsure of whether any of them sounded good. He really was a great salesman for the restaurant. I had the Trois Pistoles and Sarah had the Blanche de Chambly; mine was a darker, heavy beer yet one with fruity and spicy tastes, Sarah’s was a lighter, hopsy and somewhat lemon or orange beer.

le yachtsman

Unibroue has become one of our favorite breweries since first trying it at Le Cellier many moons ago. (It’s also now served outside of the restaurant at the beer stand and is our top pick for Drinking Around the World at Epcot .)

Beyond the beer, Le Cellier’s bread service is reliably good. There’s a reason the pretzel bread here is a favorite among fans. It’s absolutely fantastic–top 5 bread service at Walt Disney World.

le yachtsman

Le Cellier now serves up a couple of different poutines. My favorite is the Le Cellier Beef Bourguignon Poutine, which features Fresh-cut French Fries, Gruyère, Beef Bourguignon Gravy, Garlic Aïoli, and Truffle. The Le Cellier Signature Poutine features Canadian Cheddar Cheese Curds, Truffle, and Red Wine Reduction.

Both of these are good options for a shareable starter, especially if you’re worried about leaving hungry. They’re delicious and decadent, but I wouldn’t call them must-order dishes. Definitely higher quality than the poutine served at nearby Refreshment Port…but that indulgent snack is shockingly good.

le yachtsman

One menu staple at Le Cellier is the Bison Strip Loin. Accompaniments change seasonally, but mine was served with Celery Root Purée, Butter-braised Carrots and Turnips, Roasted Apples, Cider Reduction, and Seasonal Greens.

In the past, there was a version with truffle béarnaise sauce. To each their own, but I preferred that. Bison is a lean and earthy meat, and typically doesn’t have the same robust and fatty flavor of beef. It’s still fantastic

le yachtsman

Although it’s a Canadian steakhouse, many of the meats served at Le Cellier are USDA Prime. This is one definite made since going Signature, as the cuts at Le Cellier are now higher quality with better marbling, tenderness, and more flavor.

One such example of this is the Ribeye at Le Cellier. It’s not quite as good as the one served at Yachtsman Steakhouse, but it delivers. This ribeye perfectly melds meatiness with fattiness, great texture, and a bit of char.

Walt Disney World May 2012 930

While we have sample a variety of entrees at Le Cellier, the one I keep coming back to is the New York Strip Steak. I am always tempted by the filet, especially with those mushrooms, but the larger, slightly more marbled cut is more up my alley.

I really like the taste of a good NY Strip, especially the USDA Prime cut. Le Cellier never disappoints here. I enjoy a good filet mignon, too, but I’ll take the size combined with the taste of a strip over a filet most any day.

le yachtsman

There’s also the fact that the Le Cellier Signature Filet Mignon is a mainstay of the menu at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Now, this isn’t the same size–and not the same quality cut of beef–but it’s good enough for me to get my fix.

I’ve become so accustomed to eating the Le Cellier Filet Mignon at Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival that it’s been years since I’ve had it at the actual restaurant. I should probably remedy that, but in the meantime, I can’t give a credible review of that particular cut. (I will say that there’s probably a reason it’s the steakhouse’s signature cut and the other AAA Canadian Tenderloins I’ve had have been fantastic.)

le yachtsman

As far as desserts at Le Cellier go, my favorite is the Maple Créme Brulée.

This ranks right up there with the best desserts at Walt Disney World, in my opinion.

Walt Disney World May 2012 945

We’ve tried a variety of other desserts at Le Cellier, but once I discovered that Maple Créme Brulée, it’s the dessert I have always gotten since.

Based on our experience, you really can’t go wrong with any of the Le Cellier desserts. The dessert menu changes at Le Cellier, with one of the only constants being that Maple Créme Brulée (for good reason!).

Overall, I think Le Cellier is a very good restaurant, but I think much of its reputation is built upon internet hype and scarcity of reservations. When Le Cellier became a full-time Signature Restaurant, that was probably the last straw for us of it losing its luster. If we’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it’s not better than other Signature Restaurants to justify using the credits, and if we’re paying out of pocket, the prices have been inflated such that’s also not worth it from that perspective. It’s definitely a solid restaurant, but I don’t think it compares with any of the Signature restaurants we’ve visited.

Anyone willing to spend the money or Dining Plan credits will find a good restaurant in Le Cellier. The meats aren’t the only great things at Le Cellier, as the desserts and beer selection at Le Cellier are also fabulous. I know all of this seems like praise given my “overrated” stance, but this restaurant is frequently cited as the best restaurant in Walt Disney World, and that is not the case, in my opinion. It’s a good option, but not even the best restaurant in World Showcase, let alone all of Walt Disney World.

Just ate there and I really loved it . Every course was excellent , and possibly one of the best steaks I had ever had . I had the New York strip . We also had the classic poutine , cheddar cheese soup , and maple creme brûlée . We had eaten at monseir Paul’s the night before . They of course aren’t directly comparable , but I found the experience At le cellier much more relaxing and unpretentious. And the steak was better than monsier Paul . Both my husband and I agree ( hey sorry ). Waiter was friendly but didn’t interject himself into our meal. I could only eat half of my steak , so that’s lunch for tomorrow . Didn’t find anything over salted either .

' src=

I may give it another chance at some point, but our experience there wasn’t great. My filet was subpar, not as good as say Texas Road House and a far cry from what we cook at home. Oddly, the meat you get from the Canada booth during festivals is better than the actual restaurant…

' src=

Le Cellier is my daughter’s absolute favorite restaurant in all of WDW. She loves the salmon on the kid’s menu and the chocolate mousse (made to look like a moose) for dessert. I love the bread service, the cheese soup, and the poutine. We never order steaks so, it is actually a good value for meals for what we do order. On our last trip in March 2021 we ate there twice. We had an ADR once and then my daughter really wanted to go again and there happened to be a reservation available around the time we wanted to go.

' src=

Agreed. We had Christmas dinner there 3 years ago and it was amazing. The food, the atmosphere. Fast forward to last year and we paid nearly $500 for 4 and it was definitely not worth it. For was good, but not exceptional and there was no Christmas atmosphere. Overall it’s good, but not for the price point.

' src=

Being from Canada we had to try this restaurant. My wife and I ate at lunch back in 2018 and was impressed by the food and service. It was not crowded so we had a very relaxing meal. BUT the cost is foolishly too high. I cannot justify going back.

' src=

The cheddar cheese soup is the best. That with the pretzel bread and a couple coldies, can’t beat it

' src=

Can’t you request lower salt when you order? Some items have salt built into the process early on but it would surprise me if they couldn’t control it on request.

Also, warning: if you want to eat like Tom, you really ought to jog like Tom,,

' src=

Over salted, for sure – that’s been our experience the last 2 visits. “Fool me once” is our motto, so we aren’t going back for a good long time. We chalked the first time up to new kitchen staff unfamiliar with the recipes, as this was almost immediately after reopening. It was super bad, so much so that we didn’t continue eating after a few bites. That was ALL the dishes. The second time was a year later, but it seemed like previous experienced, restaurant-specific staff hadn’t been brought back. So that’s as another $250 down the tubes. In my mind this restaurant has become the McDonald’s of signature Disney dining. McDonald’s has amazing french fries one out of every 10 visits. But is it worth paying for yuck fries nine out of 10 times on the off chance? When I can get exceptional food consistently at Msr Paul’s for the same price, I’ll have to take a hard pass on Le Cellier for now.

' src=

Enjoyed reading your comments! Agree with your assessment. We hadn’t been to Le Cellier for several years as it was always impossible to get in. Went there last Sept. and agree with Tom’s review. It’s very good food & service, but for how dark and cramped it feels, for the price point, I don’t feel Le Cellier is worthwhile. Msr Paul is my absolute favorite restaurant in ALL of WDW; we go every year, and I’m just dying waiting for it to reopen.

' src=

We just had dinner there a couple of weeks ago and it was fine. Was it our favorite meal of the trip. No. Worst? No. To be fair we had also eaten at Topolino’s and Flying Fish, so there was some very tough competition.

' src=

I remember in the early 90s going down a buffet line and choosing my food at Le Cellier! Was surprised when it turned “fancy” … especially becoming high class …. I agree with your thoughts on the dimness, the noise and the crowded seating. It has been several years since my wife and I ate there, mainly because of the difficulty in securing a reservation. One of my favorite desserts is the chocolate mousse … yeah … it’s on the Kids menu …. My wife loves Trois Pistoles. She read a recommendation from Josh (moment of silence) and was hooked. I honestly would probably rather spend that much money somewhere else. Thanks for your continued fantastic writings!

' src=

Top 5 appetizer= cheese soup. Top 10 entree= ribeye. Top 5 bread= pretzel bread. Top 10 dessert= maple crème brûlée. Love Le Cellular but it’s gotten too pricey. My next WDW vacation I’ll be eating ham sandwiches out of an ice chest and (out of nostalgia) drinking Molson Golden from a liquor store.

' src=

Hahaha best comment!!

' src=

Ambience looks good. descent food appearance as well. foods in the picture looks appetizing to me. I think this is a very nice and dinner place in general.

' src=

So fickle some are here, 5 years ago it was the best thing since sliced butter, now they are charging more and it is terrible….I can guarantee if you were blind served yachtsmen steak and the LC you could not tell the difference! Come on people quit dogging LC and either quit going or just stop crying………Funny in how this place STILL is a rather difficult ADR to get…..

' src=

We just had the pleasure of visiting DW earlier this month. This was probably near our 10th time down. We ALWAYS dine at Le Cellier. The last two times (this time included) it just hasn’t lived up. It was always our go to/date night. We both noticed the cheddar beer soup tasted different and both of our steaks were very over cooked. However…we do enjoy the staff there. We enjoyed our meals at BOG more. The best steak we’ve found…The Brown Derby. We will not be going back to Le Cellier.
