Review of Lindenberg 26
Basic specs..
The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.
The boat is equipped with 45.0 liter fresh water capacity.
The Lindenberg 26 has been built with different keel alternatives.
Unknown keel type
The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.49 - 1.59 meter (4.89 - 5.19 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.
The Lindenberg 26 is equipped with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a full keel.
Lindenberg 26 can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.37 - 1.47 meter (4.49 - 4.79 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.
The boat may be equipped with an inboard engine
Sailing characteristics
This section covers widely used rules of thumb to describe the sailing characteristics. Please note that even though the calculations are correct, the interpretation of the results might not be valid for extreme boats.
What is Capsize Screening Formula (CSF)?
The capsize screening value for Lindenberg 26 is 2.22, indicating that this boat would not be accepted to participate in ocean races.
What is Theoretical Maximum Hull Speed?
The theoretical maximal speed of a displacement boat of this length is 6.4 knots. The term "Theoretical Maximum Hull Speed" is widely used even though a boat can sail faster. The term shall be interpreted as above the theoretical speed a great additional power is necessary for a small gain in speed.
The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level. The immersion rate for Lindenberg 26 is about 139 kg/cm, alternatively 778 lbs/inch. Meaning: if you load 139 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 778 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.

Maintenance
When buying anti-fouling bottom paint, it's nice to know how much to buy. The surface of the wet bottom is about 23m 2 (247 ft 2 ). Based on this, your favourite maritime shop can tell you the quantity you need.

Often called the finest production sailboat ever, the Lindenberg 26 MORC boat was designed by Lee Creekmore (currently a marine surveyor in La.) and built by Lindenberg Yachts in Florida in the late 70s. There were 51 produced. These fast boats, winners of MORC and PHRF regattas, are loved by owners old and new. Paul Lindenberg started Lindenberg Yachts in 1975. The rig was built by Bergstrom/Ridder and had a narrow shroud base for greater maneuverability racing or cruising. The cruising interior made for comfort below not usually found on fast racing boats. Lars Bergstrom was born in Sweden and was an aeronautical engineer and Naval Architect and specialized in keels, rudders and rigs. He developed the Windex found on most mastheads and he tested the winged keel long before the Australians used one to win the America's Cup in 1983. His B&R rig is used on a number of production boats today. He died in 1997 at the age of 62 near his home in Sarasota while flying a plane he designed. Lee Creekmore is famous for a number of racing and cruising designs and blew the doors off the competition with his famous Creekmore 22 which was a prelude to the Creekmore 23 designed to beat MORC's 4Q rule. Local MORC Hall of Famer, Dick Wisti won the MORC Nationals twice with his Lindenberg 26 Finlandia . The Lindenberg 26 is a hugely successful boat in any racing club and this boat is literally ready to sail. Inside headroom is about 6 feet and there are berths for four.
