The AMYA was established in 1970 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting racing, designing, building, and preservation of all model sailing yachts, and membership is open to all who are interested in these activities. Our quarterly magazine is the only publication devoted 100% to model yachting.

The MYA became 100 years old at 2.00pm on the 18th February 2011. On that day 100 years ago a group of enthusiasts met in a hotel in Fleet St, London. Their aim was to organise and promote Model Yachting in the UK.
