What a versatile restaurant; casual family day outside or cosy warm candle light dinner inside. A great restaurant to keep the little ones busy with swings and the shore for safe play, or a next-door visit to the marine education centre (run by the Namibian... Dolphin Project), all while we wait for the food. The menu prices seemed a bit steep, but the portion sizes made this worthwhile. Lunch was fantastic and I recommend their Poke Bowls (sorry CTFM) and their Gorden Bleu too. WBYC has officially become one of our favourites in Walvis Bay! More

Nice restaurant with a view of the ocean. Massive portions at a very good price. I started with nachos grande which looked a bit strange but ended up being very good. I also ordered tomato and feta penne which I really did not like. I... ate maybe 2 bites and ended up tossing the leftovers. My husband on the other hand had the seafood platter and there was so much seafood that he could not finish it all. If you knew my husband, you would never believe he'd leave a single bite behind! He was really quite impressed! I had vanilla ice cream with fudge topping which I let him finish and he took a slice of cheesecake to go. Nice place to eat in Walvis Bay if you're in the area. More

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at WBYC so went back for cocktail hour. We loved the authentic nautical styling and stayed for dinner. Wow what a surprise to find such excellent food in such a remote location. At night the lighting inside is perfect, and... one can enjoy the twinkling lights of Moored boats in the distance. More

Lemon pips found in ice cubes, dirty bathrooms, the worst steak/food we had in Namibia! Please do not dare to complain, you will be greeted by a sarcastic owner!!! Rather go to Anchors Restaurant around the corner - excellent view, excellent food.

Restaurant serves large portions but service is always a bit slow so if you. Or in a hurry this is a slow afternoon to take in the views and watch the pelicans floating past Pub grub vibe and child friendly

The driest burger I have yet had but also the largest bun to accompany the burger. Place was moderately busy but service was slow. Friend had mince and cheese quesadilla that consisted of too many tomato pieces and lacked flavour. Left disappointed.

Well maybe it was her off day but service should be number one. The waiter saw us and said she will come shortly with the menu's and then forgot us. After about 30 minutes I went to go get the menu's myself. The people at... the bar was really noisy and when we finally ordered my meal was cold. More

You can sit inside as well as outside at the Yatch Club. The restaurant could need some redecoration and paint but it is rustique and genuine. Great food, had both fish and meat at resonable prices.

Just mind the hugeportions like everywhere in Namibia: you definitely end up with doggy bags as the size of the plates is rather US than european :-) but food is very good and staff smiling and helpful.

What a versatile restaurant; casual family day outside or cosy warm candle light dinner inside. A great restaurant to keep the little ones busy with swings and the shore for safe play, or a next-door visit to the marine education centre (run by the Namibian... Dolphin Project), all while we wait for the food. The menu prices seemed a bit steep, but the portion sizes made this worthwhile. Lunch was fantastic and I recommend their Poke Bowls (sorry CTFM) and their Gorden Bleu too. WBYC has officially become one of our favourites in Walvis Bay! More

Nice restaurant with a view of the ocean. Massive portions at a very good price. I started with nachos grande which looked a bit strange but ended up being very good. I also ordered tomato and feta penne which I really did not like. I... ate maybe 2 bites and ended up tossing the leftovers. My husband on the other hand had the seafood platter and there was so much seafood that he could not finish it all. If you knew my husband, you would never believe he'd leave a single bite behind! He was really quite impressed! I had vanilla ice cream with fudge topping which I let him finish and he took a slice of cheesecake to go. Nice place to eat in Walvis Bay if you're in the area. More

3 of us had both a good evening meal here and a carry out on a different night. Service was friendly and prompt. Food portions were generous so a good appetite is required. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at WBYC so went back for cocktail hour. We loved the authentic nautical styling and stayed for dinner. Wow what a surprise to find such excellent food in such a remote location. At night the lighting inside is perfect, and... one can enjoy the twinkling lights of Moored boats in the distance. More

Lemon pips found in ice cubes, dirty bathrooms, the worst steak/food we had in Namibia! Please do not dare to complain, you will be greeted by a sarcastic owner!!! Rather go to Anchors Restaurant around the corner - excellent view, excellent food.

Restaurant serves large portions but service is always a bit slow so if you. Or in a hurry this is a slow afternoon to take in the views and watch the pelicans floating past Pub grub vibe and child friendly

The driest burger I have yet had but also the largest bun to accompany the burger. Place was moderately busy but service was slow. Friend had mince and cheese quesadilla that consisted of too many tomato pieces and lacked flavour. Left disappointed.

Well maybe it was her off day but service should be number one. The waiter saw us and said she will come shortly with the menu's and then forgot us. After about 30 minutes I went to go get the menu's myself. The people at... the bar was really noisy and when we finally ordered my meal was cold. More

You can sit inside as well as outside at the Yatch Club. The restaurant could need some redecoration and paint but it is rustique and genuine. Great food, had both fish and meat at resonable prices.

Just mind the hugeportions like everywhere in Namibia: you definitely end up with doggy bags as the size of the plates is rather US than european :-) but food is very good and staff smiling and helpful.

Pelican Point Peninsula Short Tour

Great excursion, excellent guide

Perfect half day trip. JP, our guide met us as we disembarked with a comfortable 4 wheel drive SUV. He took us to Dune 7 before anyone else was there making it even more impressive. We then had a hair raising, fun dune drive and proceeded to Pelican Point. He showed us hundreds of flamingos and seals and some jackals along with interesting facts about the lighthouse and salt works that we saw en route. As all good safaris do, we had to stop for refreshments and we had "bubbly" and delicious homemade snacks. We thoroughly recommend this company and tour.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Contact our Secretary, Antoinette , at +264 81 322 3360 or [email protected] prior to arrival at the Yacht Club. With limited swing mooring space, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that you will need your own dinghy for landing, as there is no water taxi service. Visiting Yachts much use the Walvis Bay Yacht Club pier for all landings, as the Waterfront Jetty is reserved for commercial tourists. While there is no direct access to the Yacht Club jetty due to a significant sandbank, we are happy to assist all arrivals to and from your boat with prior arrangements.

ARRIVAL AT WBYC

Upon arrival, please check in with the Club Secretary, Antoinette , at the office to complete all necessary arrival forms. Sailors can enjoy the convenience of hot showers, ablution facilities, trash disposal, and laundry services. Find a fresh water tap at the end of the Jetty for filling up. Securely tie up with your own dinghy at our Jetty and should you require repairs, kindly reach out for repair support from our experienced members. This incurs a blanket cost based on the crew size (children under 12 free of charge). Once anchored, you are under the Yacht Club's responsibility and must report to the Club. Walvis Bay Yacht Club provides the availability of our high-quality Membership card for a 10% discount at the bar, restaurant, braai facilities, and WiFi access. Additionally, receive travel assistance for Customs and Immigration clearance. Kindly note that for arrivals after 16:00, weekends, or public holidays, MUST report to the Office on the first working day after arrival.

Before departure, kindly inform the office of your planned departure date to facilitate the timely completion of your Clearance form. This is necessary before proceeding with Customs and Immigration clearance.

YACHT CLUB PROTOCOLS

While on-site fuel is unavailable , arrangements for refuelling can be made through Namport. Kindly provide advance notice for substantial fuel quantities.
