The 12 Most Exciting New Yachts at the Palm Beach International Boat Show

From the $148-million Feadship Arrow , to a stylish, fish-fighting 37-foot center console from Turkey’s Vicem, the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show promises be a boat-lover’s nirvana. The focus this year will be on superyachts for sale, with more than 50 expected. We highlight five of the biggest and best as well as seven global and US premieres of smaller boats for the rest of us.

The action on the West Palm Beach waterfront kicks off Thursday, running through Sunday. Here are 12 newcomers you don’t want to miss.

Feadship ‘Arrow’

Rumor has it that mega-successful British hedge-fund manager Michael Platt is looking to trade-in his 245-foot Feadship Arrow . The founder of BlueCrest Capital, Europe’s third-biggest fund, took delivery of the yacht in 2020 and now it will make its show debut at PBIBS in search of a buyer. It comes with a jaw-dropping $148 million asking price. Designed by London-based H2 Yacht Design, the Feadship has cabins for 12 guests and a main-deck owner’s suite to die for. Other standout features include a state-of-the-art gym, massive beach club with drop-down side terraces, a stunning top-deck bar and lounge area, massage room, and enough water toys to equip a cruise ship. She’s fast, with twin MTUs delivering a 17.5-knot top speed.

Benetti ‘Alfa’

With its plumb bow and curving superstructure, the 229-foot Benetti Alfa looks like many contemporary designs these days. But the brokerage yacht’s real innovation lies at the stern, with a split-level beach club that includes an infinity pool (that transforms to a dance floor with a cover) on the deck above, and a full-beam lounge under the pool, with drop-down balconies on each side to increase openness and width. The owner also specified his own deck, with a bedroom, office, gym, massage room, television room, bar and breakfast area—not to mention an 860-sq.-foot sunken forward sundeck.

Benetti ‘Calex’

Delivered just a year ago to its California owner, the stunning 219-foot Benetti superyacht Calex is making a surprise appearance at the Palm Beach show—to showcase the boatbuilding skills of the Italian shipyard. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Calex ‘s sleek, low-slung lines are from the drawing board of designer Giorgio Cassetta. Belowdecks is a seven-cabin layout that can accommodate 14 guests, with the highlight being the massive 1,770-sq-ft owner’s deck. Here, in addition to the master suite, is the owner’s lounge, bar and office, plus a private sundeck with gym, spa and gas fireplace. Word has it that Calex ‘s owner is billionaire Southern California auto dealer David Wilson, whose Wilson Automotive Group boasts 17 dealerships and annual sales of around $2 billion.

Palmer Johnson ‘DB9’

Named after the classic V12 Aston Martin model, the 9,200-hp, 171-foot DB9 is a speed demon that can blast across the water at 37 mph—or about three times the speed of most yachts its size. The iconic Palmer Johnson, the only one built in England, was first launched back 2010. Its lines from Venice design firm Nuvolari/Lenard make it look fast, even at the dock. In 2019, the new owner upgraded its systems while having its exterior repainted in a metallic Champagne color, with the signature red boot stripe. The boat has three pools, including a 26-foot-long saltwater pool on the foredeck that doubles as the boat’s tender storage when it’s empty. DB9 promises to be one of Palm Beach’s brokerage stars.

Amels ‘Come Together’

Named after the Beatles song, Come Together is the first Amels Limited Edition 60 that was launched last year. It is distinguished by a geometrically shaped exterior with a metallic hull. The owner of the 197-footer used the yacht for exploring the world, but his plans changed and it’s now on the brokerage market. The yacht has a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck, a DJ booth, and a large beach club for water sports. On the sundeck is a teppanyaki grill, bar, hot tub and drop-down cinema screen. The interior by Winch Design has a beachy theme, with refined details like leather handrails, brass inlays and appliqué walls. The design firm focused on stones and wood to create beautiful but highly tactile finishes. A patterned, stylized stairwell is Come Together ’s centerpiece.

Princess S72

Fresh from its January debut at the Düsseldorf Boot indoor boat show, the super-stylish S72 from Britain’s Princess Yachts, is making its splashy, in-water debut and key North American premiere at Palm Beach. Designed by the Princess studio, with Pininfarina adding Italian flair, the S72 joins the Princess S Class line-up of S62, S66 and S78 coupe-style fast cruisers. With twin MAN V12 diesels—choose between 1,650-hp or 1,800-hp—this big-windowed cruiser has a top speed of up to 36 knots. Unusual design features include a huge tender garage, expansive power sunroof above the helm, and a spacious flybridge. Princess is also showing the all-new F65, while giving the X80 its first US airing.

Intrepid 51 Panacea

Florida-based Intrepid Powerboats is unwrapping its biggest, and fastest, center console to date, the new flagship 51 Panacea. Priced at around $2 million, it’s also the most-expensive Intrepid yet. Big brother to the builder’s more cruising-focused 475 Panacea , the new 51-footer is fresh from the keel up, with an all-new, smooth-riding stepped hull, broader beam, and greater deck space. The extra length has also been used to incorporate a second row of four-across seating behind the helm, a big hardtop with wraparound windshield, and an outdoor galley in the cockpit. To escape the sun, there’s also a roomy cabin with side access, a forward V-berth and head with shower. While the base engine package is a quintet of Mercury 450 Racing outboards, the 51 Panacea is also being offered with four Verado 600 V12s.

Horizon PC68

Power cat specialist Horizon definitely has the power part covered with its brand-new PC68, making its global debut in Palm Beach. With a pair of 850-hp MAN turbo-diesels, Horizon talks about a “cruising” speed, rather than top speed, of 20 knots for the 68 footer. Its fuel capacity of 1,500 gallons, the PC68’s range should be extensive—though Horizon has yet to release that data. Equally impressive is the amount of deck and interior space provided by the 24-foot beam. In each of the hulls is an equal-sized master suite with king-sized bed, along with separate VIP guest cabins with twin beds that slide together to form a king. The upper flybridge deck is also generous with its space, featuring a walkthrough windshield to a Portuguese bridge and open deck area with exceptional views.

Zeelander 5

After a year-long tease, Dutch builder Zeelander’s Z5 is making global debut at Palm Beach. The still-unapologetically-retro 50-footer carries on where the Z44 left off. Besides an extra four feet of hull, the all-new Z5 features bigger windows in the wheelhouse with new, pencil-thin windshield frames, and an even more voluptuous rear end with a swim platform almost twice the size of the Z44’s. Powered by three Volvo IPS-650s, this new Z5 can hit a top speed of over 40 knots, yet the builder’s focus on noise reduction makes this Zeelander’s quietest boat yet. The longer hull has helped increase the size of the amidships owner’s cabin which now benefits from bigger hull windows.

Vicem 37 CC

Turkish wooden boat master Vicem is dipping a toe into the fiberglass center-console market with the Vicem 37 CC, making its world debut at the Palm Beach show. So new is the first hull that it won’t actually arrive at the show until the second day, and with no time to officially photograph the finished boat, there are only renderings available. Vicem teamed-up with Turkish designer and passionate angler Murat Iyriboz and Virginia-based DLBA Naval Architects to shape the new 37 CC. In addition to a center console, the 37 will also be offered as an express cruiser. In true Vicem style, the boat will combine elements that are modern and traditional—like teak coaming around the bow and quilted, hand-stitched upholstery. Buyers can choose from dual or triple outboards, with total possible horsepower of 1,000 hp, with the largest motors projected to give a 45-knot top speed.

Numarine 26XP Fast

Seems American boat owners love to go fast. Which is why Turkish builder Numarine is debuting a U.S.-focused version of its beefy 26XP explorer-style 85-footer at the Palm Beach show, appropriately titled the 26XP Fast. And fast it is, courtesy of a pair of honking 1,800-hp MAN diesels powering the planing hull version of the 26XP. Flat out, the 85-footer does an impressive 31 knots. According to Numarine, the boat is the fastest in its class. That’s a big step up from the standard, full-displacement-hulled 26XP with twin 435-horse MANs. It has a leisurely 13.5-knot top speed but will be drinking a lot less fuel. What hasn’t changed is the 26XP’s headturning Can Yalman exterior design, with that high, vertical bow, quirky-shaped bulwarks, reverse-angle pilothouse windows and stubby foredeck. Plus, its massive 700-square-foot flybridge.

Arksen Adventure 30

Dubbed the Land Rover of the seas, this new, tough-as-nails Adventure 30 from Britain’s explorer-yacht builder Arksen , is making its U.S. debut. Best known for its world-girding 65- to 85-foot Explorer series, Arksen partnered with Finland’s XO Boats to build this new 30 and its smaller Adventure 28 sibling. While not exactly a Palm Beach-style cruiser, with its exposed, military-grade aluminum hull, enclosed pilothouse, and distinct lack of sun loungers, the boat is a natural for the rugged Pacific Northwest. But it’s not all basics. Teak covers the decks. There is leather on the steering wheel and a comfortable V-berth in the cabin. Offered with either a single 350-hp outboard, or twin 250s, top speed is more than 45 knots, and with fuel in the tanks the range is 230 miles at 25 knots.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2023: A Round Up of the Top Stories

After a truly spectacular edition of the Monaco Yacht Show this year, we take a look at some of the top news stories from the event. From new launches, to concept designs, this year’s show featured a host of exciting industry updates.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2023 undoubtedly saw a range of exciting updates for the industry; we take a look at six of the top news that was unveiled during the show. We delve into the announcement of the launch of the first Amels 80, the unveiling of two concept designs from Feadship and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the reveal of Benetti's 85m project and Rossinavi’s 66m diesel electric ALCHEMY, as well as taking a look at Lürssen's 97m CARINTHIA VII following her 10-month refit. 

The First Amels 80 Launched

On schedule to be delivered in 2025, the first Amels 80’s new hull and superstructure were spotted outside of her build shed. Described by Sean Bianchi, Partner and Head of New Construction at Burgess, and Naval Architect, as a yacht which will ‘stand out amongst her peers and set the benchmark for future yachts’, her launch was highly exciting news announced by the shipyard on the first morning of the yacht show.

Designed by Espen Øino, Amels 80 features a holistic and modern exterior design, in keeping with the Amels DNA. She also features sustainable materials and innovative hybrid technology, a key factor of the next-generation Amels' design. 

‘The Amels 80 is a design that will not age. Her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she is delivered. She is a big ship, full of features, with an impressive interior volume. She is everything and more that you would expect from an 80-metre yacht. There is a sense of scale, and nothing is wasted,’ commented Espen Øino.

Her interiors are custom-built, penned by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with a neutral and natural palette, allowing for the owner to add their own personal style. She can accommodate up to 14 guests, who can enjoy a 200 square metres sun deck, a waterside beach club which opens on three sides and a wellness area and spa, to name a few of the fantastic amenities on board. 

Benetti’s Full-Custom Espen Øino-Designed 85m Project Announced 

PROJECT LIFE, Benetti’s new full-custom 85m, is a welcome addition to the Italian yard’s megayacht fleet. Her exteriors have also been penned by Espen Øino, who has injected Benetti’s distinctive characteristics into PROJECT LIFE’s design: the capacity to invent new lifestyles, offering varied interpretations of this concept across the decks. All spaces onboard are designed with sociability in mind, for instance, the large revolving lounge that changes its focal point depending on the time of day. 

Her interiors have been designed by Francois Zuretti, who has chosen a beautiful balance between the colours and the surrounding environment, with an expanded opening that allows natural light to enhance the spaces. 

PROJECT LIFE is built with all the available technologies to help reduce consumption, including diesel-electric propulsion and integrated hybrid solar panels that collect solar and thermal energy to power appliances onboard.

A Look Inside Lürssen’s 97m CARINTHIA VII Following Refit 

Following a 10-month refit by Lürssen at its Hamburg facilities, the results of CARINTHIA VII’s extensive refit were revealed at this year's Monaco Yacht Show, where she was presented to the charter market for the first time, represented by Fraser.  

She was designed by Tim Heywood, regarded by many as one of the world’s first true mega yachts. Kept largely hidden from industry over the last 21 years, with her interior rarely seen, her introduction to the charter market has been eagerly awaited, as has the results of her refit. 

Her new work includes redesigned exterior decks, new lounge and living areas and a new 12m/39’ pool and 90sqm air-conditioned gymnasium. Her interiors are sophisticated and elegant, with beautiful wooden flooring pervading the design and neutral beige and browns contrasted with cool-tone hues of blues and stunningly clean white stylings. She is a true masterpiece and an unmissable offering to the charter market. 

Embracing Sustainability: Feadship Debuts Project DUNES

DUNE takes a significant step towards Feadship’s goal of Net-Zero superyachts, combining features that reduce energy demand with technology that eliminates emissions and increases efficiency. Each individual element of the design assists in reducing environmental impact, for instance, shading windows to reduce cooling requirements, however, when implemented together, they slash a superyacht’s environmental impact dramatically.  

Inspired by the aesthetics of sand dunes, this vessel reflects the onboard lifestyle that today’s owners desire, with flexible, multi-purpose spaces, endless views, and a combination of sociable open-plan areas with cosy, intimate spaces. She has an asymmetrical superstructure with almost no straight lines, meaning that spaces drift into one another, furthering the notion of flow throughout the yacht, and the heavy use of glass seamlessly blends the interiors with the surroundings. 

Her design, along with all Feadship concepts, is a true joint effort between Feadship, Studio de Voogt and the yard's Knowledge and Innovation department. With a wealth of expertise and experience across all collaborators, the shipyard’s concept designs are able to be of the highest possible quality. 

AWARE, The Essence of Luxury, Presented by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presented the 79.9m yacht concept AWARE at the Monaco Yacht Show, a ready-to-build, fully operational concept with a 1600 mm scale model. Her design combines proven technology with innovation and the use of the most precious and durable materials. At the forefront of this design is space optimisation, with an abundance of space on board, vast exterior decks and an unparalleled inside-outside connection, 

AWARE has been described as the ‘Essence of Luxury’: a logical step in yacht design in which all space is optimised to give guests on board the best possible experience. Sander Sinot, Designer at the firm commented:

‘For the design of AWARE the focus is on maximising the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.’

With exceptional features to optimise the outside areas, including a beach club with a three-metre high ceiling, the interiors have similarly been designed to provide ultimate functionality and a spectacular inside-out experience. She is a tri-deck design with an open plan pavilion on the bridge deck, allowing for unrestricted views of the ocean on all sides. 

Rossinavi’s 66m Diesel Electric Motor Yacht ALCHEMY

Unveiled at Port Hercules was Rossinavi’s 66m M/Y ALCHEMY, a fully custom design by Vitruvius Yachts with interior and exterior styling by Enrico Gobbi. She features diesel-electric propulsion, propelled by rods to reduce the loss of energy between the engines and navigation speed. 

ALCHEMY is an elegant tri-deck design with a focus on the outdoor areas and wellness aspects of the yacht. With a spacious central corridor, the forward owner’s cabin offers a clear view of the sea, creating a sense of openness in the design alongside a strong connection to the surroundings. A special emphasis has been placed on ensuring comfort on board, in particular the minimisation of vibrations, meaning that every technical and material choice has been considered to reduce noise and vibrations. 

The atmosphere throughout this vessel is calm and elegant, with every single piece of furniture being bespoke. Enrico Gobbi commented:

‘Spa mood was the keyword for the interior design and exterior decor of this yacht; natural materials, soft colours, and essential shapes for the interiors. Soft indirect lights to 'wet' the simplicity of the forms, where the detail and construction quality had to emerge and characterize the space: 'detail makes the differences' this is the motto that we have followed more than ever in this project together with the owners.’

The 32nd edition of the Monaco Yacht Show was as spectacular as ever, we can only begin to imagine the wonders that the 2024 event will hold.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM #PBIBS 2023

Throughout the show, guests were treated to the latest in yacht and superyacht designs, sportfishing boats, cruisers, center consoles, inflatables, and a wide range of marine accessories.

Among the many highlights was the world premiere of Benetti’s superyacht Calex and product debuts from leading brands in the marine industry. For visitors interested in new electric technology, guests were treated to Ford’s F150 and the Mach-e.

The Miami International Boat Show 2024 is quickly approaching, bringing boat enthusiasts and industry professionals together at the Miami Beach Convention Centre to celebrate over 1000 of the most innovative boats on the market.

The show features more than three million square feet of space and over 1500 exhibitors dedicated to the newest boats, accessories, and services. Boaters can explore hundreds of vessels of all shapes and sizes, including cruisers, sportfishers, trawlers, motor boats, sailing vessels and more.

The Miami International Boat Show 2024 is dedicated to providing the best possible educational opportunities for its attendees. There are also special events for children and families, making the show a great place for the whole family to have fun and learn about the marine lifestyle.

2- DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2024

28 February – 3 March, UAE

The next event in the calendar 2024 is the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS 2024). Hosted in the sparkling Dubai Harbour, the Dubai Yacht Show has been a regular feature in the UAE every March for the past 30 years. By far the Middle East’s largest yacht and lifestyle event, the boat show welcomes over 3000 industry professionals, UHNW clients, and general visitors to be part of a vibrant on-land and on-water entertainment program.

The DIBS 2024 yacht show will host over 1,000 brands and companies and showcase a remarkable 200 yachts in the dedicated Superyacht Avenue. The yachting event will feature a variety of high-performance vessels and yachts, both for racing and leisure. However, it’s not just about the vessels when it comes to DIBS 2024. Every year the superyacht show organisers detail an exciting agenda packed with world-class entertainment, networking opportunities, and an opportunity to experience the best of the UAE.

Visitors will also be able to benefit from the knowledgeable experts who will be on hand to explain the different yacht technologies and answer any questions about the boats on display.

3 – PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2024

21 – 24 March, US 

The Palm Beach International Boat Show is one of the most popular shows, and 2024 looks to be no exception. The boating event brings together some of the best international names for four days of networking, entertainment, and viewings. With its beautiful location in Palm Beach, Florida – just moments from Relevance Yacht’s Miami office – and extensive range of activities and events, the nautical event promises to be an exciting and memorable experience for everyone involved. 

The 2024 yacht show will feature over 800 vessels and superyacht lifestyle products, including hundreds of boats ranging from 8-foot RIBs to a vast selection of powerboats, sailboats, fishing boats, and motor boats.

Attendees will have the chance to meet with boat manufacturers, brokers, and distributors from around the world to find the perfect vessel for them. You can also learn about the latest boating technology and marine products, such as fishing equipment, navigational aids, and boating accessories.

2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show Review

Mega Millions jackpot soars to $875 million. Powerball reaches $600 million

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – If you're feeling some St. Patrick's Day magic, you might want to buy a lottery ticket . Mega Millions and Powerball have racked up some massive jackpots after weeks of rollovers.

The Mega Millions jackpot is already estimated at a whopping $875 million for Tuesday night's drawing after no tickets matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night. Saturday night's Powerball jackpot is $600 million.

Just keep in mind that the odds of winning any lottery jackpot are very slim . Mega Millions players have a 1 in 302.6 million chance of taking home the top prize. And it's not much easier to win a Powerball jackpot with the odds near 1 in 292.2 million.

But the excitement remains.

This is just the sixth time in the nearly 22-year history of the Mega Millions game that the jackpot has been this large, and five of those six jackpots exceeded $1 billion, according to a Mega Millions statement. The winning tickets were sold in South Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Maine and Florida .

There was one big winner in Friday night's Mega Millions drawing. A ticket in New York matched all five white balls drawn, and will win $1 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot has rolled over 28 times since Dec. 8, when two winning tickets were drawn in California, lottery officials said. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night.

Mega Millions isn't the only current multi-million dollar jackpot. Saturday night's Powerball jackpot is estimated to be $600 million after no one matched all six numbers on Wednesday, officials said.

It was the 32nd rollover for Powerball since Jan. 1, when a ticket in Michigan won a prize worth $842.4 million. Powerball is drawn three times weekly, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

If you are lucky enough to win either of the large jackpots, Robert Pagliarini, the president and chief financial adviser for Pacifica Wealth Advisors, Inc. in Irvine, California, offered some advice.

“Take a deep breath,” Pagliarini told The Associated Press. “You will be faced with numerous tax, legal, and financial decisions so I want you to stay grounded, because when you are calm you can make much better decisions.”

Pagliarini suggested building a team to help with decisions, including an attorney, tax expert and financial adviser experienced in handling windfalls.

“Lastly, even though you have professionals guiding you, do not forget that this is your money and you are in charge — they work for you. Ask questions and make them explain things so you understand them. The goal is to turn your sudden wealth into lasting wealth,” he said.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball tickets are also $2 and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
