Among all sea excursions being practice in Mauritius, the best, which will remain for a long time vivid in your mind about your stay in Mauritius, is a one day cruise on a catamaran to Flatl island.

For 1 1/2 hr , you will sailing with the Tamamsa from Grand-Baie, the tourist center of Mauritius, up to an island call Flat Island which is situated about 17 kms north of Mauritius. On its way the boat Tamamsa will pass by a first island, the Gunner's Coin, huge whale-like mountain in the sea. Straw-tails birds, which is the symbol of the national aviation, had chosen its cliff as their nesting place. Group of playful dolphins are often seen accompanying boats. The catamaran Tamamsa will anchor at Flat island. Barbecued lunch and drinks will be served on the island. You will stay on an uninhabited island for some hours where you will be free to do snorkeling, sun bathing, or wandering around the island, admiring its wilderness.

The timing Meeting at least 15 minutes before boarding on the Tamamsa. 8:30 - Boarding 8:45 - Departure of the Tamamsa. Presentation , in the Bay of Grand Bay , of the crew members followed by a briefing about the boat and the trip . Alcoholic and fresh drinks are served as per requirement during sailing toward Flat Island . 11:00 - Anchoring in the lagoon of Flat island of the Tamamsa. Presentation of the surrounding environment followed by a transfer of passengers from the catamaran to the beach . Swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling for guests. Cleaning of the catamaran Tamamsa and lunch preparation by the crew . 12:30 - Lunch time on the island. On the menu various raw and cooked salads . Grilled fish and chicken served with pasta, rice and bread. Blazed banana for dessert. Meal will be accompanied wine, rum or homemade punch. Vegetarian menu on the Tamamsa is available on request at extra cost. After lunch, the catamaran (maybe) will leave Flat Island for a snorkeling session near the Gunner's Coin. 14:00 - The Tamamsa start moving back to Grand Bay with a snorkeling stop at the Gunner's Coin. 16:00 - Landing in Grand Bay. End of the tour Note that the timing of this excursion may flunctuate by half an hour

8h30 - Embarquement à bord du catamaran Tamamsa pour ile plate, Ile maurice 8h45 - De Grand baie, ile maurice, départ du Tamamsa pour ile plate. presentation, dans la baie de Grand baie, des membres d'quipage suivit d'une seance d'explication à propos du bateau et de la sortie. Boisson a volonté durant la traversée 11h00 - Ancrage du Tamamsa dans le lagon d'ile Plate . Présentation du lieu suivit du transfert des passagers du catamaran vers la plage d'ile Plate. Baignade, bronzage et plongée en apnée pour les clients. Mise en place du déjeuner par le membre d'équipage. 12h30 - Déjeuner sur l'ile. Au menu, poulet et poisson grillée. (menu vegetarien disponible sur demande, en supplement). 14h00 - Largage des amarres du Tamamsa pour rentrée a Grand Baie avec, en cours de route, un arrêt près du Coin de Mire pour une dernière seance de plongée. 16h00 - Débarquement a Grand Baie. Fin de l'excursion A noter que le timing de cette excursion peut se décaler d'un demi-heure A part les hors-bords, le catamaran Tamamsa est l’un des rare catamarans à Grand-baie qui propose la destination Île Plate au lieu d’îlot Gabriel. Île Plate est beaucoup plus grande qu’îlot Gabriel quoique moins fréquenté. L’équipage du Tamamsa vous accueillera à bords dans une ambiance de convivialité. Cette sortie en catamaran à île Plate à bord du Tamamsa s’étale sur la durée d’une journée avec déjeuner et boisson compris. Contrairement aux autres catamarans qui organisent le déjeuner à bord catamaran, avec le Tamamsa cela se passe sous un kiosque sur Île Plate, permettant ainsi aux participants de mieux pouvoir profiter de l’île après le repas. Autre particularité du Tamamsa, est que souvent, au lieu de faire uniquement Île Plate, les skippers peuvent décider de faire à la fois Île Plate, Îlot Gabriel et un arrêt près du Coin de Mire pour les mordu de la plongée en eaux profonde.
