RANGER J-Yacht The "super J" that totally dominated America's cup races of 1937
After the 1934's loss against Rainbow, Thomas Sopwith returned in 1937 with Endeavour II which is leaner and meaner than her predecessor. Nonetheless, she proved no match for the boat that was one of the America’s Cups all time greats. Ranger clearly won all 4 races.
Ranger was the first America's Cup yacht developed through model testing in a towing tank. Tank tests results helped Ranger to depart sharply from conventional J boat practice. She was revolutionary in design . No boat had previously approached the maximum size practical for a rating of 76 under the modified Universal Rule as Ranger did. Ranger was thus described as the "super J".
Ranger's race in 1937 marked the end of an era — it was the last America's Cup contest for 21 years and marked the end of Big Class racing. As war loomed J-Class racing and building drew to a close. By 1946 all the American Js had been scrapped. Endeavour and Shamrock V survived. They have been restored. The impressive sight of these sexy and majestic yachts racing against each other was relived last year at the America’s Cup silver jubilee. The last 20 years have seen a huge resurgence of interest in the J-Class. There are plans afoot to build replica of Range r.
This primarily wood scratch-built Ranger J-yacht model is 39" long x 15" tall x 8.5" wide $5,790 Shipping and insurance in the contiguous USA included. Other places: $300 flat rate. Sold out and discontinued .

Everything you need to know about the 37th America’s Cup
Follow the build-up to the 37th America’s Cup as the teams prepare to fight it out for the oldest sporting trophy in the world.
Which teams are in the 37th America’s Cup?
In 2021 four teams raced in fully foiling AC75 monohulls which were conceived specifically for the event by then Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand and Challenger of Record, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli.
These same four teams return for the 2024 America’s Cup and will be joined by two additional teams, bringing the total number of entries up to 6.
Emirates Team New Zealand – America’s Cup Defender
As the current holder of the America’s Cup, Emirates Team New Zealand will be racing again in the 37th America’s Cup. As the Defender, the Kiwis will be guaranteed a spot in the America’s Cup regatta itself.
Any other challengers will need to race each other in preliminary regattas for the right to be the single challenger in the America’s Cup regatta itself.
Emirates Team New Zealand represent the Royal Auckland Yacht Club in America’s Cup racing.
INEOS Britannia – America’s Cup Challenger of Record
The Challenger of Record is the name given to the first yacht club to challenge the holder of the America’s Cup once it has been won.
When Emirates Team New Zealand successfully completed their defence of the America’s Cup in 2021, the Royal Yacht Squadron immediately issued a challenge on behalf of Ben Ainslie’s INEOS Team UK (now called INEOS Britannia), so they are Challenger of Record for the 37th America’s Cup .
INEOS Britannia and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team has strengthened an exhausting relationship, with the British challenger standing to benefit from the technical and engineering experience of the multiple World Champion F1 team.
Luna Rossa perform a tight leeward mark rounding
Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli
Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli has a very long America’s Cup history having first competed in 2000 and has taken part in every Cup since (with the exception of the unique 2010 Deed of Gift match).
For the 36th America’s Cup Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli were the challenger of record. They also won the challenger selection series so it was this Italian team who took on Emirates Team New Zealand for the America’s Cup itself.
The team will return for the 37th America’s Cup though this time they are not the official challenger of record.
American Magic
In 2021 the New York Yacht Clubs’ American Magic was also competing, though their event was ultimately ruined by a capsize in the early part of the regatta . They did get the boat rebuilt but it never got back up to speed and they made an early exit.
The 2021 campaign marked the return of the New York Yacht Club to the America’s Cup. The NYYC held the America’s Cup from its inception in 1851 right the way through to 1983, when they were defeated by the Royal Perth Yacht Club’s Australia II .
American Magic have confirmed their entry into the 37th America’s Cup and will, once again, be representing the New York Yacht Club.

Alinghi Red Bull Racing
Another team making a return to the America’s Cup scene after a long break will be Ernesto Bertarelli’s Alinghi team. The Swiss team won the America’s Cup in 2003 and then completed a successful defence in 2007.
However, a serious falling out over the potential rules for the next America’s Cup saw Alinghi taken to court by Larry Ellison and his BMW Oracle team, the 2010 America’s Cup was held between Alinghi and BMW Oracle Racing in a Deed of Gift match that saw the teams fight it out in huge multihulls.
BMW Oracle won the contest and Alinghi stepped away from America’s Cup racing. Their return is a welcome one and their Cup history alongside their partnership with Red Bull Racing should see them a solid challenge from the off.
Orient Express Team France
The French entry to the 2024 America’s Cup was long rumoured but it was not until quite late in the day that they officially announced their intention to challenge.
It was in early 2023 that the official announcement came of a French AC entry, backed by Accor Group and its brands Orient Express and ALL-ACCOR Live Limitless.
As a fairly late challenge they will have a lot to do to be competitive.
What boats will be used in the 37th America’s Cup
The Protocol for the 37th America’s Cup has been released including the rules for the class of boat to be used in the next edition of the event. Once again the America’s Cup will be raced for in AC75s . These boats were first brought in ahead of the 36th America’s Cup so this will be their second outing.
The foiling monohulls will be slightly different, with rules being tweaked partly aimed at improving light wind performance and reducing crew numbers from 11 to 8.
Teams will only be allowed to build one AC75 and nationality rules are strict this time around requiring 100% of the race crew for each competitor to either be a passport holder of the country of the team’s yacht club or to have been physically present in that country for 18 months of the previous three years prior to 17th March 2021.
Emirates Team New Zealand saw success in 2017 in Bermuda with their Cyclors . These may well return for the 37th America’s Cup.
When it comes to the events, there will be up to three Preliminary Regattas, the first two raced in a new one-design class of AC40s , the last one at the Match venue in AC75s. The Challenger Selection Series and the America’s Cup Match will be held in 2024.
Barcelona, the venue for the 37th America’s Cup
Where will the 37th America’s Cup be held?
Barcelona, Spain was selected in 2022 as the venue for the 37th America’s Cup , marking the first time a New Zealand team has chosen to defend a Cup win overseas.
The home city of Emirates Team New Zealand and the venue for the 36th America’s Cup, Auckland, had an exclusive period in which to tender for the regatta immediately after the Kiwis’ successful defence in 2021, but the sums on offer were not enough, and Emirates Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton cast the net wider internationally after rejecting a NZ$99 million (£50 million) offer from the New Zealand government.
A number venues were mooted including: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Cork, Ireland; Malaga, Spain, but Barcelona eventually won out.
When will the 37th America’s Cup be raced?
The America’s Cup will be held in 2024 in Barcelona. Racing in the 37th America’s Cup Match itself, which is a best of 13 (first to seven) format will start on Saturday 12th October 2024 and could run all the way to the 27th October should all the races be needed to pick a winner.
The America’s Cup will be proceeded by the challenger selection series, which will see which of the five challenger gets the honour to race New Zealand for the Cup itself.
The stated aim was to hold the event in the September-October window, which will allow for the Olympic Games in Paris, France to conclude and also offers a decent range of weather with wind speeds usually around the 9-15 knot mark.
Match Racing
Though the America’s Cup was first raced for in 1851 ( and won by the schooner America from which the trophy gets its name), this race was between a fleet of boats. A challenge by the British in the 1870s was also conducted as a fleet race.
By the 1880s, following a protest from the British, the America’s Cup was decided in a head-to-head match race where two boats sail against each other.
Match racing is a particular skill and encourages aggressive manoeuvres using the rules to put your opponent at a disadvantage. This cut-and-thrust racing, where the only objective is to beat your opponent, has long been at the heart of America’s Cup racing and produces a thrilling spectacle.

Where are they now? 6 famous America's Cup yachts
1851 schooner america’s sad demise.
In 1851, the schooner America , sailing for the New York Yacht Club, beat the Royal Yacht Squadron and laid claim to its 100 Guinea Cup. Thus the America’s Cup was born – what is now the oldest trophy in international sport – earning its name from that first winning yacht rather than the country, though the US did go on to hold the trophy for 100 years.
Where is America's Cup yacht America now?
The famous America's cup yacht America changed hands – and names – a few times after the first historic race, and then wound up in the American Civil War as a Union ship. She stayed in the military as a training ship for the Navy until 1873, when she was sold to a former Civil War General for $5,000 (about $98,000 today). The general raced, maintained and refitted the boat, but after his death in 1893, she was passed down to his son who lacked interest in the schooner and allowed her to fall into disrepair. Despite being eventually donated back to the Navy, lack of maintenance left her seriously decayed. The nail was driven into the coffin when a major snowstorm caused the shed she was stored in to collapse in 1945, and America was scrapped and burned, bringing the history of one of the most famous sailing yachts of all times to a close.
America ’s legacy lives on to do this day, and there are replicas of the schooner you can sail on to relive the glory of this historic vessel. Climb aboard the 32 metre America 2.0 replica (pictured in the inset above) in Key West (November-April) and New York (May-October), or on a 42 metre replica out in San Diego .
1930 Shamrock V is still sailing
J Class yachts are synonymous with the America’s Cup as these slim, graceful beauties once represented the fleet racing for the Cup. The 36.42 metre Shamrock V , commissioned by Sir Thomas Lipton for his fifth and final bid, she was the first J Class yacht to compete for the Cup. The fact that she is the only J Class yacht to be built in wood makes it all the more remarkable that Shamrock V is still floating today.
Where is America's Cup yacht Shamrock V now?
The Camper & Nicholsons -built J is in pretty perfect condition for a lady of her years. J Class yacht Shamrock V is currently for sale and looking for a good home. The right owner could sail away on this piece of Cup history just in time as the J Class yachts make a triumphant return to the America's Cup .
1987 movie star Stars & Stripes still racing
While the film Wind , one of the best boat movies , was inspired by Dennis Conner’s experience competing for the America’s Cup in 1983 on board Liberty , the yacht that was actually used in filming was the 12 Metre type sailing yacht Stars & Stripes 87 . She was called Geronimo in the film, but Stars & Stripes 87 was more than a screen legend. When Conner launched his own campaign, he wanted a culmination of all the Stars & Stripes yachts that came before her, and she was designed to be fast in heavy air. Stars & Stripes 87 wound up being the final 12 metre yacht to win the America’s Cup.
Where is the America's Cup yacht Stars & Stripes 87 now?
Stars & Stripes 87 can be found in the Caribbean now, able to be sailed with the St Maarten 12 Metre Challenge , giving you a chance to take the helm (if you're lucky) of a real Cup winner.
1988 Stars & Stripes multihulls
Paving the way for the high-performance multihull America's Cup yachts that are redefining the competition is Stars & Stripes – the catamaran. The first America's Cup multihull yacht, the US team's Stars & Stripes came to be by a cunning interpretation of the Deed of Gift, which only stipulated the challenging yachts be single masted and no more than 90 feet LWL. The result was anything but a true match race, with the much faster, wing-masted multihull Stars & Stripes winning the Cup in 1988.
Where are the America's Cup multihull yachts Stars & Stripes now?
Two versions of the multihull Stars & Stripes were built, a soft sail (S1) and a wing-masted yacht (H3). Stars & Stripes (S1) was acquired by American entrepreneur Steve Fossett and used to set speed records around the world before being sold in 2017 to Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages in Key Largo, where she is used for day charters and racing. The actual Cup player, Stars & Stripes (H3) was bought by Mark Reece in Naples, Florida and was used for sailing charter trips, but her current status is unconfirmed.
1994 Stars & Stripes once used as a training yacht by Oracle Team USA
America’s Cup yacht Stars & Stripes (sail number 34) is probably most famous for not winning a Cup. It wasn’t because she didn’t perform under pressure, but because she never got the chance. While the 24 metre yacht, designed by David Peddic and built in 1994 by Goetz Boat Works, won the right to defend the Cup, Dennis Conner chose Young America (US 36) over Stars & Stripes . The new choice was no match for Team New Zealand’s Black Magic , which beat out Team Dennis Conner four times in a row.
Where is America's Cup yachts Stars & Stripes (US 34) now?
Famed America’s Cup Stars & Stripes (US 34) is earning a chance to prove herself on the racecourse yet again. She sails out of Chicago, racing against Abracadabra (US 54). After failing to win the Cup in 2000, this iteration of Abracadabra was bought by Larry Ellison, who used her as a training boat for his Oracle Team USA.
2003 USA 76 still sailing in San Francisco Bay
Sailed by the US challenging team in preparations for the 2003 America’s Cup in Auckland, New Zealand, USA 76 never made it to the Cup, but she came quite close. Making it to the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup final, USA 76 faced the Swiss Team Alinghi but didn’t come out on top. So the US team arranged for a “rematch” against Alinghi, with two races set in San Francisco Bay. While it didn’t change the results of the Cup, this time USA 76 bested the Swiss competitors twice over.
Where is America’s Cup yacht USA 76 now?
Fittingly, USA 76 resides in San Francisco Bay and is available for sailing. Capture the spirit of the most recent America’s Cup that was raced in the natural amphitheatre of the Bay by climbing aboard USA 76 for a racing adventure under the Golden Gate Bridge.

About the America Yacht
The America Yacht certainly achieved a lot! Following a challenge from the Royal Yacht Squadron, this schooner called America entered the Hundred Guinea Cup race, a 53-mile race around the Isle of Wight. It easily defeated the 14 British ships and was awarded the Hundred Guinea Cup – Queen Victoria herself even visited the ship following the victory. Upon its return to America, it was renamed America’s Cup.

Commissioned by John Jameson (of the Irish whisky family), designed by Alexander Richardson and built by J G Fay in Southampton, she was 98ft. in length – 118ft. with her bowsprit – with a beam of 18ft. and a sail area of 8157 sq. ft.

Shamrock was originally owned by Sir Thomas Lipton, the owner of the English grocery chain ‘ LIPTON ’, and famous for his import of Lipton Tea from India.
Shamrock V was built in 1930 for Sir Thomas’s fifth and last America’s Cup challenge. Designed by Nicholson, she was the first British yacht to be built to the new J Class Rule and is the only remaining J to have been built in wood. After launch she was continually upgraded with changes to hull shape and rudder. The rig was also modified to create the most effective racing sail plan but she was no match for the faster US design “Enterprise”.
Sir Thomas made all five of his America’s Cup challenges as a member of Royal Ulster Yacht Club, a club that continues to this day to have a strong involvement with The Cup.
Shamrock V was sold in 1933 to Sir Richard Fairey (Fairey Aviation) who again was a keen yachtsman who campaigned it in company of two new steel J’s built during 1933 – 1934, Velsheda and Endeavour. After World War II, Italian owner Mario Crespi installed the elegant bird’s-eye maple interior.

Designed by Charles Nicholson and built by Camper & Nicholson in 1933 for Mr W.L. Stephenson, Owner of Woolworth chain of shops, she was built in 1933 at Gosport. She was Nicholson’s second design for a J Class and Stephenson’s second big yacht.
“Velsheda” was named after Stephenson’s three daughters, Velma, Sheila and Daphne. She raced with the greatest names in classic yachting including “Britannia”, “Endeavour” and “Shamrock” between 1933 and 1936.
In her second season she won more than 40 races and achieved an outstanding record of success at Regatta’s from Southend to Dartmouth. Other venues included Torbay, Swanage and of course the Solent, all under the control of the very famous Captain Mountfield.
The permanent racing crew at that time was probably around 16 men and this would have been augmented to around 30 for racing. When not required for sail changes, spare crew were moved to below decks.

Commissioned by New York Yacht Club member Wilson Marshall, the Atlantic was launched in 1903. William Gardner, one of America’s foremost designers of large yachts, designed her. From the moment Atlantic went to sea, it was clear that she was an exceptionally fast and beautiful schooner. When a yacht in 1903 hits twenty knots during her sea trials, she is a promising yacht, but even then nobody could imagine two years later this yacht would set a record that would stand unmatched for almost a century.

Endeavour was commissioned by Sir T.O.M. Sopwith to challenge for the America’s Cup in 1934. Having prepared his campaign in Shamrock V, Sopwith was keen to ensure that this yacht was the most advanced design possible. With his experience designing aircraft Sopwith applied aviation technology to Endeavour’s rig and winches and spared nothing to make her the finest vessel of her day. From launching in 1934 she continued her preparation by competing against Shamrock V (then owned by Sir Richard Fairey) and the newly launched Velsheda (owned by W.L Stephenson).

The Resurrection of American Magic
A dramatic crash left a hole in the hull of a high-tech America’s Cup yacht. A round-the-clock repair effort has brought the boat back from the dead.
By Serena Solomon
AUCKLAND, New Zealand — The oblong object, 75 feet long with a pointed nose, looks more like a downed spacecraft than a sleek racing yacht.
Hoisted in the air and surrounded by scaffolding, the object’s two appendages stick out and run down its sides like the long, slender legs of a praying mantis. But this is not a spaceship, or even an oversize insect: It is Patriot, the yacht of a team, American Magic , that hopes to reclaim the America’s Cup , sailing’s most prestigious trophy, for the United States.
And Patriot has a big problem.
On Jan. 17, while American Magic was leading a race against an Italian challenger in the Prada Cup, the series that determines who will challenge Team New Zealand for the America’s Cup in March, Patriot capsized in dramatic fashion — effectively pulling a wheelie as it rode out of the water and then rolling over on its left side.
The accident tore a hole in Patriot’s hull, sent crew members scrambling to cut teammates out of their safety harnesses and left its entire syndicate preparing to watch the multimillion-dollar boat sink into the waters of New Zealand’s Hauraki Gulf.
Instead, a crash that could have been deadly — American Magic’s skipper and executive director, Terry Hutchinson, and several crew members were briefly trapped under the fallen sail as the boat filled with water — was merely catastrophic, at least in the racing sense.
Less than a week later, on a quiet Sunday morning, three boatbuilders sanded over a giant patch that now covers the hole in Patriot’s hull. Another, with an arm full of cables, walked up the scaffolding stairs to continue the rebuilding of a sophisticated electrical system that seems more suited to a Formula One car than a sailboat.
By then, American Magic was only partway through its extensive repairs, part of a frantic effort to save Patriot, and its team’s hopes of victory, even as the competition continued without the U.S. boat. Other teams offered expertise and sent pizza. Fans topped up the team’s coffee tab at a local cafe. And about 70 boatbuilders, engineers and mechatronics technicians on the team worked in shifts to complete the work.
The repairs could easily have taken weeks without a deadline, Hutchinson said. Instead, they were completed in 11 days. On Wednesday, Patriot’s sleek hull slipped back into the water for the first time. On Friday, it was racing again.
After forfeiting four round-robin series races, the American Magic team entered this weekend’s Prada Cup semifinals against Italy’s Luna Rossa as a major underdog, and promptly lost the first two races . The first to collect four wins will face a British entry, Ineos Team UK, for the right to race the Kiwis, who claimed the America’s Cup in Bermuda four years ago.
“We can’t be broken, and so as long as we stay committed to that, which we will, then this is a clear demonstration of that and the sky is the limit,” Hutchinson said of the round-the-clock effort to bring Patriot back from the dead.
Patriot’s capsize came in the final race of the day, as American Magic led Luna Rossa out of the final turn. The wind speed suddenly increased and shifted direction, sending Patriot airborne at about 45 knots, more than 50 miles per hour.
The boat crashed down on its left side, gashing the hull. None of the 11 crew members were injured, but the damage — discovered after a chase boat scooped a piece of Patriot’s carbon hull out of the water — was substantial.
“It was a very extreme circumstance that no one can ever really be prepared for, that big a hole in the boat,” said Casey Smith, who oversees Patriot’s hydraulic system.
Flotation devices were used to keep the boat from sinking as it filled with water. Plans were discussed, revised, discarded. Nothing worked, Smith said, until a police officer “came out of nowhere” with a 40-foot-long rectangle raft that the crew wrapped around Patriot’s hull and inflated.
“That was the first time I thought, ‘OK, we’re actually going to save this thing,’” Smith said.
To understand the job that lay ahead for American Magic once it was saved, it helps to first understand the boat. The class of boats that race in the America’s Cup, AC75, is a new model that each entry was required to build and race in this year’s competition. The boats don’t just sail, they fly — provided they can reach speeds over 15 knots. Once a yacht’s hull rises out of the water, all that touches the surface are the boat’s two hydrofoils — those mechanical, praying mantis-like legs — and an equally thin rudder.
Even the terminology used around the boats has changed, to phrases more commonly associated with flying. “The pitch, nose up, nose down — they use exactly the same terminology in sailing now,” said Mark Orams, a professor of sport and recreation at the Auckland University of Technology. There is also now a crew position called a flight controller, responsible for stabilizing the boat while it is out of the water.
“You can go really, really fast,” Orams said of the new generation of racing yachts, “but you are going to be at a high risk of crashing.”
While an AC75 won’t go anywhere unless there is wind, all of its instruments and functions, like moving the hydrofoils in and out of the water, need power. Hydraulic power that moves or trims the sails comes from about eight crew members called grinders, who furiously pump hand-turned levers during the race. A lithium battery powers everything else.
That power system, along with other major controls, was destroyed by saltwater when Patriot capsized. The team had spares for all of the major components, and it harvested pieces from Defiance, the prototype for Patriot, to make some repairs. The team had to improvise with many yards of connecting cables, said Sean Healey, who worked on Patriot’s electronic rebuild.
Any changes to the boat, including different cables or the patch for the hole, put Patriot in danger of going over the competition’s strict weight rules. To race, the boat must be within 33 pounds of 14,374 pounds, according to Silvio Arrivabene, the team’s design production manager.
Another hurdle facing American Magic was undiscovered bugs in Patriot’s newly rebuilt electronic systems. The tight repair schedule left only a 36-hour buffer for delays, testing, identifying and fixing bugs, and one or two practice rounds. On Wednesday, an issue with a tripping battery that briefly cut power to the boat was resolved out on the water during the boat’s first post-capsize sail. “Unfortunately, we’d like weeks to shake all these problems out,” Healey said. “We just don’t have weeks.”
Still, less than two weeks after capsizing and about 48 hours before the first Prada Cup race against Italy, Patriot headed back into the water. “We were holding our breath for the first five minutes,” Arrivabene said of that morning’s weigh-in, “but she is good.”
On its return, its patch was decorated with a message of gratitude to American Magic’s competitors: bandage-shaped graphics bearing their flags and the words “Thank you.”
All three of the other teams had come to the aid of a sinking Patriot — a break from the famously bitter and litigious culture of the America’s Cup, and Team New Zealand released some of its boat builders to create the replacement hull section at one of its local facilities.
Out on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour, Patriot got a tow for a running start to get the boat up on its hydrofoils, standard for a low-wind practice day. Soon, the rope fell away and Patriot was flying on its own. The yacht teetered in the air on one foil, then both, and then the other as it wove through the water, hitting over 30 knots.
“She picked up right where she left off — going fast,” Hutchinson said.

DE ANTONIO YACHTS E23, THE OFFICIAL ELECTRIC BOAT OF THE 37TH EDITION OF THE AMERICA'S CUP
Since its beginnings De Antonio Yachts has been distinguished for developing innovative boats. For the 37th America’s Cup, the Spanish brand and America’s Cup Event Barcelona have reached an agreement for the De Antonio Yachts E23 model to be the Official Electric Boat of the event.
The E23 model is a 100% electric boat, which will assist the new autonomous electric racecourse marks throughout the competition. The new model, which will be launched in Barcelona this Spring, will be commercialised during 2024 and the first units will be used to set the racecourse of the 37th Edition of the America's Cup which starts on 22 nd August 2024.
Grant Dalton, CEO of America’s Cup Event, believes this is an additional significant step in sustainability, continuing to reduce the fossil fuel carbon emissions of the event alongside the advancements with the introduction of the Hydrogen powered Chase Boats also.
“Since the last America’s Cup, we have been acutely aware of doing what we can to replace fossil fuel guzzling vessels where we can. Obviously, we are not yet at a stage where they can be completely eliminated, but where we can- we will. And this is why we have chosen to partner with De Antonio Yachts and their E23 as electric support vessels.”
De Antonio Yachts will be one of the first brands worldwide to develop a series production electric model with optimised performance and range for sailing thanks to an evolved hull development. The new E23 is a catamaran with an integrated foil, which provides additional lift by reducing drag, increasing speed and thus extending its range.
"As a Barcelona born company, it is an honour for us to be the Official Electric Boat of the 37th America's Cup and to present this new model to the world at an event of this magnitude. It is a privilege to be able to support the organisation and contribute, with our boats, to the most sustainable edition in the event’s history," said Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski, co-founders and CEO’s of the company. "With the new launch of the E23, De Antonio Yachts intends to contribute to the revolution of a more sustainable yachting," they added.

De Antonio Yachts was born in 2012 from the passion of its founders, Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski, for the sea and design, with the interest to innovate by creating boats with simple and avant-garde lines. Today it has established itself as a worldwide reference shipyard with production centers in Poland and Spain.
By offering the market new solutions, such as innovative hidden outboard engines for all models and applying concepts that improve efficiency, ease of use and performance, De Antonio Yachts has become a benchmark in the yachting sector.
As a result, the company has expanded internationally, with a presence on five continents and a wide network of exclusive dealers, thanks to the range of its 9 models of different lengths, which have achieved 3 nominations and 2 awards for Best European Motor Boat of the Year along with other international recognitions.
The latest models presented have been the D50 Coupé, flagship of the brand and recently the D32 Open presented during the Barcelona Boat Show 2023.
Following the launch of its new models, De Antonio Yachts is working on new boats for 2024 and 2025, which will be announced during next year.
Steady growth during a decade of success
De Antonio Yachts has been growing and consolidating its presence in the national and international market, with 60% of its boats being exported. The company closed 2021 with the delivery of 65 units, representing a 45% growth in turnover over the previous year. This progression is maintained for this 2022, with 75 units sold, 115 units confirmed for 2023 and 90% of production already booked for 2024.
Short-term objectives include continuing to evolve towards a more sustainable range of vessels and consolidating its expansion in the Americas and Asia.

It’s summer down under and Aucklanders have been waiting a decade for the Millennium Cup sailing race to return to Auckland. After a two-year hiatus, the race convened Feb. 23-26 th in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf, attracting a competitive fleet of boats that included the inaugural group of multihulls over 18 meters. The regatta moved to Auckland, the City of Sails, to be closer to superyacht marinas and amenities for both spectators and participants, enabling them to fly directly into the city, ready to race.
Perseusˆ3 Makes Her Mark On Day One
A boat built to racing specifications, the 60-meter Perini Navi yacht Perseusˆ3 won first place on day one, with the debut of the ORC Superyacht Rule and the ORC Multihull rule. Competing in the Millennium Cup Division, Perseusˆ3 dominated the race, taking line honors and edging out Janice of Wyoming and Sassafras as they fiercely and furiously raced to the finish. Prizes were awarded at the end of day happy hour.
The day’s race on Course 1A began beneath the volcanic cone of Rangitoto, then wrapped around Tiritiri Matangi Island, home to a bird sanctuary full of rare species, returning to finish back at Rangitoto making the 20 nautical mile route.

Between 15-18 knots of wind in the forecast sent the boats on the longest courses around the Huaraki Gulf at 23 nautical miles. The Millennium Cup division had a very close race with the 34.2-meter Royal Huisman Sassafras in the lead on the approach to the finish near Motutapu.
With a few boat lengths to go, Perseusˆ3 took the lead, zipping by Sassafras while blasting her cannon as she passed. Sassafras ended the day with a win on corrected time, with Perseusˆ3 coming in a close second and Janice of Wyoming in third. In the multihull division, Outnumbered took the win with Cat+Ion in second and Kotuku retiring.
Third and Final Race Day
Light air on day three sent the boats on a 21.62 nautical mile route from Motutapu to the Noises, on to D’Urville Rock, Rakino, the Haystack, and back to the start point. Watching the big, powerful Perseusˆ3 as she crossed the finish, the craft and crew proved she was unstoppable, while Janice of Wyoming crossed in second, and Sassafras in third. The Multihull division saw Kotuku win the day, with Cat+Ion in second and Outnumbered in third.
