Lil Yachty Shares All In His ‘No More Beatboxing Freestyle’ Video
It seems like every day brings another “ BeatBox ” freestyle, but Lil Yachty has arrived to shut it all down with his offering to the trend, “No More Beatboxing Freestyle.” As you may have guessed from the title, the first half of the song utilizes the beat from Coi Leray’s viral hit “ No More Parties ,” while the second half sees Boat taking a swing at SpotemGottem’s “BeatBox” instrumental.
In the accompanying visual, a solo Yachty roams his playhouse-like home, showing off his art collection. I use “art” here loosely, because the setup mostly consists of pop culture ephemera like life-size Batman and Ninja Turtle statues (shout out Leonardo), a clear-top piano, and a truly jaw-dropping collection of sneakers. In his rhymes, the former self-declared “king of the teens” recalls his explosive entry into the rap game and touches on his recent forays into Michigan’s underground rap scene with tracks like “ Not Regular ” and “ Royal Rumble .”
Yachty, who is fresh off the dual releases of his tracks “ Asshole ” and “ In My Stussy’s ,” is the latest rapper to tackle the viral hit since DaBaby turned in a scene-stealing “Beat Box” freestyle of his own. Since then, Deante’ Hitchcock , Mulatto , and Polo G have all tried their hands, with Polo adding the twist of connecting the “No More Parties” beat, along with CJ’s “Whoopty.”
Presumably, Lil Yachty is just having fun with music and life these days. Last May he released his fourth studio album Lil Boat 3 , which saw 19 tracks with a wealth of collaborations alongside Tierra Whack, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Future , Mike WiLL Made-It, DaBaby, Drake, Lil Keed, Young Thug, and Lil Durk. The project was a top 20 success for the Atlanta-based star , thanks to 30,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. Months later, a deluxe edition — dubbed Lil Boat 3.5 — made landfall with eight additional cuts and new assists from Lil Baby, Vince Staples , Playboi Carti, and Oliver Tree .
Following his recent single “ Hit Bout It ” with Kodak Black , Yachty returns with “No More Beatboxing Freestyle,” a clever use of the instrumentals for both Coi Leray’s “ No More Parties ” and SpotemGottem’s “ BeatBox .” The freestyle sees Yachty rapping and harmonizing about wealth, the streets, and more:
“I can tell niggas jelly by the way they look, pray to God my Glock don’t jam, Lord knows I don’t hook, pull up and I made ya look, pockets full of Oregon ducks, click on smart shooters, stick on him while readin’ books/”
Shot by AMD Visuals, the accompanying clip is essentially a tour of Lil Yachty ’s residence, with shots of his furniture, living room treasures, and — inside his closet — a store’s worth of top quality kicks.
As REVOLT previously reported, it’s apparent that all of Yachty ’s prized possessions have cost him a pretty penny, which he revealed on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast:
“A lot of people realized that they’ve got a lot to maintain … Like me personally… every month I’ve got $52,000 in bills. Monthly, you know what I’m saying?”

Lil Yachty Drops "No More Beatboxing" Freestyle
Lil Yachty tackles familiar instrumentals for his latest release.
Coi Leray's family drama might be spilling into the public eye but she's still riding high. With the release of "No More Parties (Remix)" ft. Lil Durk , and the upcoming collab with Pooh Shiesty, she's well on her way to establishing her name independently from the drama. The true key to a hit single is when it starts getting remixed by others. Lil Yachty popped out earlier today with a brand new remix of Coi Leray's single, mashed up with a remix of SpottemGottem's "Beat Box" for his new freestyle, "No More Beatboxing Freestyle." On the first half, the rapper takes on the more "bubblegum trap" stylings he introduced at the early stages of his career before diving into the ferocious production of Spottem's single while revealing that Kanye West once tried to sign him when he was 18-years-old.
Check it out below.

‘No More Beatboxing Freestyle (No More Parties / Beat Box)’ by Lil Yachty is a smashing rap anthem
A fresh video is dropped by the rap superstar Lil Yachty in which he is spotted tackling familiar instruments with great style. The music video ‘ No More Beatboxing Freestyle (No More Parties / Beat Box) ’ for most obvious reasons hooks the audience for his stylish beat-synced performance and the artist mashes it up with his bubblegum trap caricature to sign it off on a good note. The video kicks in with the rapper smiling ear-to-ear as he stands in front of a mirror to talk and rap to himself. He has been extremely melodic and there is no doubt that once again the artist has crafted according to his fan’s taste.
Lil Yachty’s freestyle coupled with the punchy words drives the production into a catchier version and the accompanying visual clips simply lend a strong back up to his performance. He seems to be enjoying what he is doing and after the midriff of the song, the video quickly changes its backdrop. Now the rapper is sporting a green neon hoody with red shorts as he sits in his closet. The gear of his rap changed drastically and now it’s more hardcore than before. Lil Yachty is back with his breathless freestyle and the song ‘No More Beatboxing Freestyle (No More Parties / Beat Box)’ is another gem from the rapper’s basket. He raps on how Kanye tried to sign him, while he was only 18-years-old, but there is no rearview in his life, and hence he decides to leave the shit behind him. Watch out for the full video on YouTube now.

Veeze’s Greatness Speaks for Itself — One Croaky Bar at a Time
By Andre Gee
Veeze has joked that 2022 was his “rap internship” as he prepped his debut LP, Ganger, and spent time around rap stars like Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and Babyface Ray, observing them and learning rap-star decorum. Now, with the album out to much acclaim , the 28-year-old Detroit native is on the verge of stardom, and he’s the one whose example younger artists will be following.
Singles like “GOMD” and “Not a Drill” were ubiquitous among rap heads in 2023, with so many artists still doing freestyles to the latter that he had to publicly ask them to stop recently. Veeze’s style — a sludgy delivery and stellar ear for beats that make him one of rap’s most fun listens — is too distinct to imitate, so he has to try and take freestyles as flattery. Beat-jacking notwithstanding, Veeze says he’s proud of Ganger ‘s impact.
Veeze isn’t in an especially verbose mood when we catch up by phone; asked how his recording pace has been since Ganger dropped and he ascended in fame, he curtly answers: “The same.” But those two words are all his cult fanbase needs to hear.
Ganger was a long-anticipated project after Veeze broke out with songs like 2019’s “Big Draco” and “Law & Order,” with hilarious putdowns like “He sworn on God he was gettin’ money, going straight to hell.” His sense of humor lumps him in with a broader movement of Michigan rappers who specialize in side-splitting bars.

He said he initially had an album that he was planning to drop around that time, but having to start from zero on Instagram influenced him to create an entirely new project as well. Enter Ganger , a 21-track project showcasing Veeze as a double-cup-wielding villain over a refreshing variety of production. Every artist talks about an ambitious creative process, but you can hear it on a project like this. On “you know i,” he samples Bone Thugs’ “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” on two different beats while simultaneously borrowing a “Big Pimpin” line from Jay-Z. He’s taking it easy with Chicago’s Lucki on the smoky “Broke Phone,” then “7Sixers” turns things back up with a sleek loop from producer and close collaborator Rocaine. And on “Tramp Stamp” he offers the rare line that’s retroactively more potent with “Slimeball like P. Diddy, cake walk to get it.”

BU TikTok Creators, Students Sound Off on the App’s Possible Ban
Will the popular social media site TikTok be banned in America in as little as six months? Photo by Solen Feyissa/Creative Commons
Privacy concerns, brain rot, and financial reasons for wanting to keep—or drop—the highly addictive social media platform
Amy laskowski.
Boston University junior Sophia Caffrey returned from spring break to find “everyone”—her word—on campus talking about TikTok. No, not the latest trend of getting roasted by commenters trying to guess how old you are, but instead, how the hugely popular social media site could be banned in America in as little as six months.
On March 13, the US House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill that would force TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell the social media app or face a ban on all US devices. The rationale behind the measure is security concerns such as the possibility that the Chinese-owned company can access American user data through TikTok and that it helps to spread pro-China propaganda. Now, the decision shifts to the US Senate. (President Biden has said that if it reaches his desk, he would sign it.)
@scaff17 happy to be back in bos #fyp #boston #bostonu #college #student #fdoc ♬ Music Sounds Better With You (feat. Thomas Bangalter) – Stardust & Benjamin Diamond & Alan Braxe
Caffrey (Questrom’25) is significantly invested in the matter as she is a TikTok influencer ( @scaff17 ) with over 60,000 followers. Her account took off three years ago when she made funny videos aimed at Boston-area college freshmen and has since expanded to more general lifestyle and day-in-the-life content.
Caffrey believes Congress’ privacy concerns about the app are overblown. Facebook and Snapchat have already mined people’s data, she says, but those apps aren’t facing the same scrutiny. (The big difference is that these are American tech companies, subject to US regulations.) “My generation hasn’t known data privacy—we were born in a very digital age and forced to sign away a lot, just given how we immerse ourselves in this technology,” says Caffrey, who also works as an intern for BU’s social media team.
Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) disagrees. He chairs the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is leading the push for the ban along with Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). In a March 19 interview with NPR’s All Things Considered , Warner said the problem lies in the fact that TikTok is owned by a Chinese-controlled company. “And based on Chinese law, that company has no option other than to respond to the needs of the Communist Party of China,” he said. “That takes primacy over return to shareholders or to customers.”
Last month, a poll by the Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found a three-way opinion split on banning the app, with 31 percent of US adults agreeing with a ban, 35 percent disagreeing with a ban, and the remainder saying they didn’t care either way. However, among those who use TikTok daily, 73 percent of respondents say they definitely do not support the ban.
Staffing his club’s table in the George Sherman Union this week, Walter McClanahan (Questrom’27) shared his unhappiness about the potential ban. “TikTok helped me get into BU because my FYP [For You Page] showed admissions people sharing tips,” he says. “It’s very fun. It would be hard to see something crucial to my life go away.”
While it’s crucial for some people’s happiness, it’s even more vital to the livelihood of others. Caffrey declines to give specifics, but says that someone with between 50,000 and 100,000 followers (such as herself) can make $1,000 per sponsored post.
Traci Walcott ( @traciwalcott ) has close to 5,000 followers on TikTok, where she details her travels, Amazon finds, and day-in-the-life-type content as a college student in Boston. Walcott (COM’27), who is studying public relations, estimates she has made about $1,500 total from TikTok brand partnerships thus far.
“It is my most used app, so I know that how I spend my screen will change significantly,” Walcott says, should it cease to exist. “If TikTok is banned, I plan on concentrating on Instagram more, [but] I am not sure how I would go about doing this.”
The amount of income a TikTok creator can make grows exponentially for those with more extensive fan bases, so much so that some of TikTok’s most popular creators have quit their nine-to-five jobs. Not surprisingly, these content creators “have become informal lobbyists,” according to a recent Slate article , pleading the company’s case and rallying outside the Capitol.
@traciwalcott all i do is romanticize life #collegefreshman #bostonuniversity #bu2027 #collegefallsemester ♬ original sound – Krisha Shah
A recent study by Oxford Economics explains the financial impact the ban stands to have: more than seven million American businesses market or sell their products through TikTok. Last year, TikTok drove $14.7 billion in revenue for small-business owners and contributed $24.2 billion to US gross domestic product. TikTok supports at least 224,000 American jobs.
@ireneykim finally trying filipino snacks :D #filipino #filipinosnacks #filipinosnack #philippines #tastetest #food #foodie #snack #snacks #fyp #fypシ ♬ 4-minute training gym sound(955942) – YOUNG MO
Take recent grad Irene Kim (COM’23), who runs a personal page ( @ireneykim ) with 494,000 followers and a joint food account page with her best friend; she estimates she’s made around $30,000 from her TikTok accounts within the past year. She hasn’t quit her day job, though—she also works full-time running a company’s official TikTok account.
“If TikTok were to get banned, I would basically be out of a job,” Kim says. “I also really enjoy content creating, so I would also have to put a stop to one of my hobbies as well.”
Kim says that if TikTok were banned, she would shift her efforts to Instagram. “Hopefully, it doesn’t have to come to that,” she says.
Instagram’s algorithm, however, isn’t as friendly to creators. Much has been written about TikTok’s infamous algorithm, which provides users with a constant feed of short-form video clips. It can make someone viral overnight, whether they’re sharing a funny story or a cute pet. “There’s not really any other app that can do that; some might say Instagram and YouTube, but honestly, it takes a lot to build platforms on there,” Caffrey says.
But “the reason why people delete TikTok at my age isn’t because of fear of data privacy, it’s because they use it so much that it’s interfering with their lives,” she says. “That’s how addictive an app it is.” Critics say it can “stimulate behavioral addictions,” lead to poor academic performance, and harm users’ mental health.
That’s why Junchu Wu (CAS’24) doesn’t use it. “It’s too distracting and it makes people insecure,” she says. “But I’m shocked about the ban. I didn’t think it would pass in the House. What will a ban do—the government has so much info already. It seems like a strategic [political] move on their part, rather than in people’s best interests.”
@giraffeswhip “Why do u have a dining plan when you live off campus?” ♬ Gucci Flip Flops – Bhad Bhabie,Lil Yachty
Kiril Yakusevych (CAS’24) agrees with the ban, he says, because it allows the government to pressure foreign social media companies not to harvest data from American citizens. Yakusevych has heard fellow students wondering why a similar ban isn’t happening to other social media companies, and he has some thoughts.
“It’s because they’re domestic companies,” he says. “It’s better if the data is harvested by American companies than non-American companies because at least there’s some control over it that might be affected by legislation.” He acknowledges that he’s an occasional TikTok user and says that sometimes the app can be helpful and educational. But, he says, “it can also lead to what we kids call ‘brain rot.’”
Between her two accounts, Katie Ferreri ( @giraffeswhip and @ktlamborghini ) has more than 170,000 combined followers, which definitely helped as she wrote a paper last semester for her sociology class on the conflict that is arising between China and the United States over TikTok’s algorithm.
“TikTok isn’t doing anything new [in terms of privacy concerns], so having this as our government’s main claim doesn’t make sense,” says Ferreri (CAS’24). She is both scared and mad about TikTok possibly coming to an end, she says. “It’s helped me pay for groceries, and it’s been a creative outlet. It’s concerning that it would be taken away.”
