The Oyster Bay Yacht Club is the perfect setting for receptions. The views are incredible, and the architecture is the epitome of Southern coastal casual elegance. Utilizing the covered verandah and main dining room, we can seat up to 150 guests. The main dining room will accommodate up to 60 guests; it is enclosed with glass windows and doors that open and flow nicely onto a covered verandah that provides additional seating for up to 90. The views from the main dining room and verandah are spectacular, overlooking the pool, marsh, and intercoastal waterway!

We are here for lunch while visiting family. The service was wonderful! And the food was very good. I had a catch of the day (blackened grouper) on brioche bun with yummy fried onion rings on side. Some had the short rib sandwich that got raves, hamburger, fried shrimp, and truffle Parmesan fries. We ate outside which was welcome since we are avoiding eating anywhere inside during the Delta variant surge.

I was so fortunate to have my wedding at this amazing place. Everything was absolutely amazing done to the finest detail. Mrs. Terrie and the incredible staff there had everything done so nice I was able to relax and enjoy my wedding day!! My friends and family and still talking about how nice the venue/food/service was. I have and will continue to recommend this place to everyone!!!!

We held our wedding welcome reception at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club and it was absolutely spectacular. Terrie and her team were rock stars and our guests were very impressed with the beautiful venue, staff, service and food. Thanks for making this night magical. We wouldn't change a thing!!

Our wedding was amazing and perfect in every way! OBYC is absolutely beautiful, and Terrie Sanders and her staff are awesome! From every little detail of our day, they made us feel very special and only wanted to make us happy. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, they want your day to be everything you dreamed it would be. Terrie is amazing, she will capture every detail of your vision and will do everything to make it happen. We had no doubt that she would make everything perfect, our expectations were beyond exceeded! We received so many compliments from our guests, everyone had such a great time!

A Traditional Wedding at Oyster Bay Yacht Club in Fernandina Beach, Florida

While Jennifer Ginn (33 and a math teacher) and Todd Achilles (35 and in marketing) had a winter wedding, its blue, white and black accents made the day feel like springtime. Sara Purdy Photography was there to capture every detail, from the couple’s traditional Memorial United Methodist Church ceremony in the bride's parents’ hometown to their fun waterfront reception at Oyster Bay Yacht Club. The team at Dottie “B” Florist helped Jenn and Todd make the day that much more personal by incorporating her favorite bloom: “We wanted to keep things simple, and hydrangeas are my favorite flower,” says Jenn. “When the florist said he could get those in January, we went with hydrangeas and let that guide the color palette.” Jenn walked down the aisle with a bouquet of those blue hydrangeas surrounding a few white roses, and the same blue flowers were used throughout the wedding, from the bridesmaids’ bouquets to each low breakaway vase centerpiece at the reception. Another notable detail was Jenn’s mermaid-style Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. Her white one-shoulder gown was covered with sunning silver beading in an intricate pattern and came at an unexpected price. “It was a total steal at just a couple hundred dollars from Neiman Marcus's evening gown department,” she says. Jenn and Todd spent their night dancing with 105 friends and family members in Oyster Bay Yacht Club’s covered patio to Footloose Entertainment. “The DJ kept the dance floor hopping with great music all night,” says Jenn.

So you’ve just said “I do” to your favorite person in the world, and now it’s time to plan your wedding! Happily, Amelia Island is brimming with beautiful wedding venues, and one of the favorites is Oyster Bay Yacht Club, located at the northern tip of Oyster Bay Harbour, exquisitely situated within a maritime forest. The club features expansive views of meandering waterways and Cumberland Island, a full-service bar with dining room, a swimming pool, and wide, covered verandas.

Wedding planner Cheyenne Nichols and her assistant Barbara Camp lead a team of talented chefs and staff who will make sure that your upcoming wedding is everything you’ve dreamed of, and more. “One of the things that sets us apart from other venues is that couples don’t need to hire a wedding planner,” says Nichols. “We do everything! Our staff works as a whole. They are warm and welcoming, and that’s what allows us to offer the quality of service that we do.”

Oyster Bay Yacht Club can hold 150 to 175 guests comfortably, and it offers many options for couples, from hors d’oeuvres and cocktails to a full sit-down dinner, dancing, and even finding and booking transportation to and from the wedding reception. Ceremony options include their Marsh Canopy for up to 175 guests, Front Lawn for up to 130 guests, and The Portico for up to 60 guests, which features a dose of Southern charm with a perfect arch and expansive views of the Front Lawn.

“No matter what time of the day or evening, Oyster Bay’s property is exquisite,” says Nichols. “Our photographers tell us that Oyster Bay is one of their favorite places to photograph a wedding.” Catering options are very flexible, and Oyster Bay’s chefs are able to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions. Couples can choose from various hors d’oeuvres, entrees, accompaniments, serving stations, and bar service. Some of their specialties include poached shrimp, colossal crab meat, and half shell oysters, along with a chef-attended carving station featuring roast prime rib with horseradish cream and fresh asparagus.

Nichols and Camp offer couples a preferred vendor list, which includes businesses they work with all the time, the very best on Amelia Island and the surrounding area. “We’ll help the bride and groom with much more than just their wedding,” says Nichols. “We make suggestions for their rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheons, welcome party, and more. We have vendor suggestions for flowers, wedding cakes, photographers, music, and transportation.”
