Oaksmith Yachts announced as the first US dealership for Archipelago Yachts

British power catamaran builder  archipelago yachts  has announced oaksmith yachts as its first us dealership, located in the pacific northwest. .

Oakmith Yachts was founded on the pillars of adventure, safety, capability and sustainability. The team prides itself on high-quality vessels paired with top-tier service, creating the ultimate experience for clientele. 

Based in Seattle, Oaksmith’s passion for authentic service, premium taste and sustainable solutions makes it the perfect fit for Archipelago Yachts, who is leading the way in the marine industry for sustainability, which was recently highlighted by its announcement of the Archipelago 63. 

This sustainable catamaran is the world’s first methanol-powered leisure vessel which boasts a revolutionary parallel hybrid system, seamlessly combining the clean energy derived from a pair of methanol reformers and hydrogen fuel cells. This innovative propulsion system allows the vessel to cruise silently at speeds of up to 10 knots. For high-speed performance, the design includes a direct-injection methanol engine, enabling the boat to reach a top speed of 22 knots.

Arksen 30 Adventure Yacht

This month’s arrival of the Arksen yacht to the Northwest boating scene has been highly anticipated for two reasons: It’s the debut of the manufacturer in the American market and it’s being exclusively distributed by the new Oaksmith Yachts brokerage. (Although owner and lead broker Ben Oaksmith is hardly new himself considering his well-versed tenure in the industry, most recently with Jeff Brown Yachts). The brand-new Arksen 30 is one of two vessels—the other is a similar-in-style 28-footer—in the all-new Adventure Series from the recently formed U.K.-based partnership fueled by TV and gaming entrepreneur Jasper Smith. The deep-V, all-aluminum hulls are sustainably built by XO Boats in Poland; the design and materials both help reduce weight and friction without losing strength, making Arksen vessels more fuel efficient than other boats of their size.

Ideal for weekend coastal excursions, the Arksen 30 comfortably sleeps four, plus an option for up to six people with the addition of a canvas sleep pod over the cockpit. The A30 could be likened to a Range Rover on the water, with the ruggedness to handle the storms of the Northwest combined with amenities and stylish looks of a luxury vessel.

One of the A30’s most identifiable features is a foam collar that rings the gunwales of nearly the entire boat, making it resemble an RIB. The rigid collar is wide enough to use as a de facto outside side deck to move from bow to stern around the full-beam pilothouse, using grab rails on the roof storage rack. An additional panel of foam padding also extends down the waterline on the aft section of the hull to act as a rub rail. 

The open cockpit includes bench seats on three sides with removable cushions. All seats can be flipped up to make room for extra “camping” berth space for two people over the Esthec non-skid decking. A sliding glass door separates the cockpit from the salon/galley area, which makes efficient use of space. To starboard, a mini galley has a flip-down wooden counter covering a sink, a wet-bar, storage space, and a well that can fit a portable stove. Opposite the galley, the dining table has room for six people with bench seating that can fold down to be used as a guest berth.

Wraparound windows and a wide electric sunroof let in plenty of light, providing great 360-degree views throughout. The comfy starboard helm chair has soft padding and impact miti g ation features to smooth out the ride at high speeds. A compact day head is located to port by the entryway to the V-shaped forward cabin that can accommodate two adults.

The nimble A30 cruises comfortably at 25 knots, but can sprint in excess of 45 knots and has a 230-nauical-mile range. Designed for a twin-outboard, 500-total-hp engine configuration, early A30 prototypes have also performed well with a single 350-hp Suzuki dual-prop.

Off to A Flying Start: Arksen Confirms First US Dealer for 2023

Arksen is off to a flying start this year as the company announced their first US dealer while exhibiting at the Düsseldorf boat show 2023, where the Arksen 28 and Arksen 30 made their European debut.

Arksen was founded with a mission to “ create the world’s largest purpose-built private marine research fleet ” and to  “inspire a new generation of explorer, sailor, adventurer and scientist ”. The quick momentum that the company has gained is highly promising for the future of sustainable yachting.

Arksen offers a fleet of exceptional and highly capable vessels, ranging from 28 – 100+ ft, which are a pure celebration of craftsmanship throughout.

The smaller and faster all-new Adventure Series vessels, 28-45 ft, are designed for day and weekend voyages, with the same comfort and elegant interior as the larger Adventure models. These robust, reliable and efficient vessels grant Owners with the confidence they need to take on new adventures and embrace the spirit of exploration, and travel to some of the most beautiful, remote locations.

The Düsseldorf boat show marks the start of a busy year for the Arksen Adventure Series. Having just confirmed their first US dealer, Ben Oaksmith, from Oaksmith Yachts in Seattle, this partnership marks the first step in their distribution plan within the states.

"The Pacific Northwest from the south sound to Seattle up to the Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound and beyond is the perfect cruising grounds for the Arksen A28 and A30. The aluminum hull is strong, the generous and refined interior is comfortable, and seakeeping truly out paces their footprint," says   Ben Oaksmith, Principal of Oaksmith Yachts.

With an expanding dealer network across the UK, Europe and the US, 2023 is set to be Arksen’s biggest yet, alongside the launch of the first two explorer vessels, the Arksen 85s.
