“Wonderful food! Small and Friendly!” Review of Port Navas Yacht Club Bar & Restaurant

port navas yacht club menu

Staying here at a nearby cottage for a few days and found this little gem of a place. We went to their curry evening and it was really lovely - very well done. Small enough to be friendly and chatty. Nice wines. Totally unexpected gem of a place! Delightful!

We had dinner here twice whilst staying in Port Navas. Good food cooked to order and very friendly service from Steve and Co. Good music on a Friday night but check as to when open in the Winter.

Wonderfull food at the right price, Wonderfull people running the restaurant and club, Wonderfull atmosphere and good beer. What more can i say.

Been lots of times. Food always good. Fabulous location. Looks a bit like a scouts hut and not top notch decor but that all adds to its charm. If you are after a stunning location and consistently good food and friendly service then this is great place but make sure you book as it's quite small and very busy. Small car park but best way to arrive is by boat if the tides work.

Thanks Anna - a fair and accurate appraisal!

I've not eaten here but it has a lovely little outdoor terrace for drinks with stunning views, friends have tried the food and would recommend it although they did find it pricey

Thanks for your review CasaLemon - prices range from £9 to £12 for main courses (apart from steak which is top quality locally produced Cornish sirloin, cooked to your specification and served with a sauce of your choice for £17) and £3.50 - £5.50 for desserts/cheese. All food is freshly cooked to order and menus are changed every week - see our Facebook page for more info or you can subscribe to our weekly email updates. Best wishes and hope to see you soon.

Port Navas Yacht Club Bar & Restaurant

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Very pleasant, great atmosphere. There was 6 of us and it's a cosy place so definitely worth booking in advance. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked, and everyone else loved their mains, especially the cauliflower and almond curry. All starters and desserts were... delicious and great choice of drinks. More

We wondered if the "Yacht Club" might be a bit snobby ! Not at all ...we were well looked after by Melissa and her team, in a beautiful location and a very friendly atmosphere...some lovely interraction with the locals. The food was absolutely delicious and... we look forward to visiting again when we're next visiting, Big congrats to the whole team,,,many thanks. Pete and Mike More

What a lovely spot! So worth a visit. Everything about this place, we loved. The atmosphere, the people who work there, the menu choices, the food! Ah just amazing! Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Staff are friendly enough but the attitude of the new management stinks. Very unhelpful and unprofessional. The restaurant is okay, portions are rather small for the prices being charged and again the management are not exactly the most friendly or helpful bunch of characters. In... fact they seem to do their best to make you feel unwelcome rather than welcome. All told a very strange experience and I won't be going back ever again. More

Lovely place on the Helford river and great food, bar and service. Make sure you book well in advance as its quite small.

Wonderfull food at the right price, Wonderfull people running the restaurant and club, Wonderfull atmosphere and good beer. What more can i say.

Cosy ambience, utterly yummy food and wine.. really lovely staff. Cannot recommend enough! This is a total gem of a place!

An absolutely wonderful experience, we visited three times whilst on holiday — a warm welcome and the most delicious food we have eaten for a long time. You must book!

Five of us ate here on Saturday evening and enjoyed a terrific meal amidst a warm and friendly ambience. The food was exceptional and the service professional and charming. We were staying at ‘Rocky Waters’, in the village from which the bar and restaurant is... a very short walk and I understand that Melissa has only taken over recently, she’s doing a fabulous job! What a lovely quirky little restaurant in the most peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The meal was first class and the service was very friendly. Would highly recommend this place but book in advance.

We really liked it here. A great place to have a drink at the end of the day. A yacht club that really does look and feel like a pub restaurant when it gets dark. The dreamy surroundings help to make it something special though

A quirky little place. Small inside and not much seating outside. That said, the service and food are excellent. A group of six of us enjoyed a really nice dinner here whilst on holiday in Port Navas.

A great way to end a day on the water. The food is really delicious - I had Vietnamese Lemongrass chicken, but others were equally happy with their locally sourced Sausages. Good wine list - especially for such a tiny place. The staff couldn't have... been more helpful when our guests were delayed - holding food back in the kitchen until they arrived. Another great evening at PNYC! More

A Saturday night (booked) meal for the family turned out to be perfect. The Club is a cute and friendly place with plenty of visitors by land and sea coming and going. The food menu is not extensive, but what they do they do very... well. We enjoyed a couple of lamb dishes which were really superb. The kids had sausages and chips but the quality of the sausages was well above the norm (from a local farm) and they loved them. The fish was very fresh and a large cut. All washed down with a delightful Cretan wine. A beautiful location, very friendly and informed management and staff. We will be back! More

A friendly atmosphere, pleasant, prompt service and really excellent food from a varied menu: what else is there to say? The Asparagus Bruschetta starter was so delicious I was tempted to order it for dessert too! Well cooked hake, delicious, fresh crab cakes, roasted apricot... fool and yummy pancakes. This place was recommended to us by friends who live nearby. Well worth a (long) detour. More

PNYC Membership Application 2021

A Timeless Cornish Gem set on The Helford River

A huge thanks to all our social and mooring members.  Without your kind support, especially the social members, we couldn’t keep maintaining and improving  the Club.

We have three types of membership: Social, Mooring and Launching.

Social Members – £25

Social members can use the club facilities, receive our irregular (!) newsletter, get 10% off their alcoholic drinks, can fly the club burgee and, through their kind support, help us maintain The Club. However, Social Membership does not allow you to launch kayaks and paddle boards from our slip.

Standing Order for Membership

We have set up a system with GoCardless.  This will allow you to pay for 1,2,3,or 4 Social Memberships and every year you will get an email asking whether you wish to continue for the next year.

  • For ONE Social Membership go here: https://pay.gocardless.com/AL00063PHG1JGB
  • For TWO Social Memberhhips go here: https://pay.gocardless.com/AL00063PJWTNRE
  • For THREE Social Memberships go here: https://pay.gocardless.com/AL00063PMRVX0V
  • For FOUR Social Memberships go here: https://pay.gocardless.com/AL00063PMZG7GW

Click on the link you want and it will take you through a very simple registration system.  Give it a couple of hours and it will send you a confirmation email that you have signed up.  We also get that confirmation and will then send you an email confirming payment. Your membership card/s will be left in the Bar & Restaurant for collection.

If you prefer not to set up a standing order, you can also download a membership form here, fill it out and email [email protected] with a photo of it.  Payment details are on the form and payment can be made online or via a cheque.

Mooring Members – £25

Click on MOORINGS section for more information.

Everyone who has a mooring or rack must be a member of The Club and they can use the slip and pontoon to launch from. They also get all the above benefits of Social Members. Only pontoon members may leave their car in the car park while out on the water. We ask everyone else to unload and then park in the village on the left hand side of the road below the chapel.

Launching Members – kayaks and paddleboards

There has been a growing number of people looking to regularly launch kayaks and paddle boards from the slip and pontoons at The Club. If you wish to do this regularly, we can offer a Launching Membership:

  • £175 for the Summer Season – 1st April to 31st October 2023.
  • £125 for the Summer Holidays – 1st July to 15th September 2023.
  • £125 for the Winter – 1st November to 31st March.

To enquire about membership, permanent summer and/or winter moorings, or visitor and short term moorings, email Tom at  [email protected]  or call 07798 824435.

PNYC Bank Account

The difficulty we have is with our very limited parking. Parking is strictly reserved for pontoon members, people staying at the Upper and Lower Decks and people using the bar and restaurant. So you are welcome to unload and re-load but you must park in the village before going out on the water. Please park on the left hand side of the road towards the Chapel and ideally not in front of houses in the village. (NB There is a public slip in the village).

PNYC Clothing

A number of people have asked about PNYC branded clothing so we thought we would do a trial.  We are offering a sweat shirt, a polo shirt and a baseball cap. Each order will be bespoke – so you can decide on product size, colour and wording on the products – eg with your name or without your name.

  • Fruit Of The Loom Polo Shirt  100% cotton – 22 colours available. Printed logos. £31 + delivery charge.  Choose your design, colour and size with me.
  • Gildan Heavy Blend Sweat Shirt  80% cotton, 20% polyester – 11 colours available. Printed logos. £35 + delivery charge. Choose your design, colour and size with me.
  • Baseball Cap Slazenger  – embroidered burgee logo on front of cap – 6 colours, 1 size. £25 plus delivery.

I will do a group order and split the delivery costs.  Contact me at  [email protected]   Possibly good Christmas presents!

A big thank you to all the kind members who have already signed up using GoCardless. If you want to become a member for 2024, could we ask that you do so via GoCardless. Each year you will be told of the annual payment and you can cancel at any point:

I love it and will book again. They do need to stay on top of maintenance, some bits of mold in the bathrooms and and it would be nice if the patio was better kept. Outside I noticed the gutters were full, it obviously didn’t impact my stay but I want the property to be well looked after as I want to visit it for many years to come.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, and we're absolutely thrilled to hear that you loved your stay with us!
